i had a surprisingly busy halloween. i had originally made some big plans in my head about going to london but then i got even more broke (yay) and also the thing i wanted to go to sold out (and i hadn't even considered i might need to get a ticket in advance) so i had to stay in medway. but i'd booked saturday off (i always work saturdays these days, ewww) and i kept that plan at least. i had to go to work on friday instead, and after work i ran around getting last minute things for a costume and also checking out halloween wares cos it's year round decorations / houseware for me, and eventually got home with pizza and cheap white facepaint. i went to a gig my local friends organised on friday dressed as a skeleton. (my original costume plans also fell through due to lack of ££££ and time / resources) i put on heaps of £1 white facepaint i got from wilkinsons (NEVER AGAIN. it was really thin and covered fuck all and shrunk when it dried and thus hurt my face and ooh it cracked so much. next time i need to paint my face, pls remind me of this and tell me to get the good stuff.) and black eyeliner. i did an ok job but the eyeliner coverage wasn't brilliant. luckily i'd bumped into suze (ex-sean bean death scene drummer, and one of the people putting on the gig) in poundland and she told me she was bringing all the facepaints with her & i could borrow some if i didn't manage to finish my face at home, so i used some of her black facepaint to top up on the eyesockets while she finished off her twisty the clown make up. i took some pictures of the bands of course but i'll post those another time i think.. (i also took pictures of some of the other costumes but it was dark and my little camera hates people and mostly made people look less amazing than they did in real life.. ugh. i miss having a dslr that works)

saturday i was going to edit the photos, watch something spooky in my pyjamas and chill. i got up pretty late (didnt get home til 2am but that's more or less my usual bedtime these days anyway) and while i was browsing through my facebook feed, i noticed that Rochester Flea was happening that day. it's the last saturday of every month but since i've been working pretty much every saturday i haven't been away for something i haven't been able to go for months, if not more than a year? i mean, it's not like a 'real' fleamarket where you can find lots of crap with something really amazing thrown in for 20p cos the seller just wants to get rid of their old crap, it's more of an craft fair + vintage / antique fair, but it's pretty cute and nice people i know and hardly ever see go there. so i mulled it over for a bit, had breakfast and got dressed and decide FUCK IT i'll go out despite being tired, a bit on the grumpy funover side and too broke to buy anything (the main danger of going outside) and you know what, NO REGRETS. i took some nice pictures and i saw people i havent seen in a while and got a proper pep talk from someone (honestly, i needed that ♥) and i managed to NOT SPEND A PENNY. to be honest i didn't really see anything i really wanted or needed. anyway, here's some pictures from the flea market and shop windows etc that were actually decorated for halloween and so on.

on my way home from rochester i bumped in to my friend abi. she used to play guitar in my old band sean bean death bean. she invited me & carl to come over to hers later, she had people coming over and she was going to make pumpkin pie once she got home. and also she told me one of her cats (the one i hadn't met yet) was wearing a skull hoodie cos she's got some ailment ive forgotten the name of and she keeps scratching it. carl had been at work all day and was working on sunday so i knew he wouldn't be up for any socialising but i said i'd see if i could make it. i made some tasty as heck mac & cheese for dinner and since leaving the house earlier had worked out so well i decided fuck it, i'm going to go out again, and put on my favourite dress and while i waited for my phone to charge drew spider + spiderwebs on my face and attached some sparkly spiders in my hair. i couldn't be arsed to do halloween again Properly, and besides i'd kinda run out of the shit white facepaint anyway. and tbh i wasn't sure if anyone would be dressed up at abi's or not. but i still felt like doing _something_ since i 500% definitely care about halloween.

it was a pretty chill night. i arrive just in time cos there was ONE MORE PIECE OF PUMPKIN PIE LEFT. win. i didn't get too many kitty hangs but little dude (the one with the skull hoodie) was feeling a bit disgruntled cos of the hoodie and just stayed up out of reach on top of the fridge / bookshelves. she's the more sociable one of the kitties. nyx & ishtar aren't mega fans of crowds and mostly stayed in the bedroom. tbh they're not that into snuggles anyway. i got home about 2am again. with a copy of Sandman volume one. (i have a lovely habit of coming home from abi's with a book in my bag, usually one by neil gaiman. still need to return Neverwhere. will do it next weekend when it's her birthday and she's putting on a gig..)

anyway i have been 'writing' this blog entry all fucking week and i'm kind of sick of it and i want to get on with my life / write about something else soon (or not, though ive actually had some ideas etc etc) so this is it. see you later.

council estate of mind

kävin tuossa yks päivä tekemässä, näkemässä ihmisiä ja kotimatkalla päätin tehdä pienen tutkimusmatkan ympäri meidän council estatea (lähiö lienee lähin suomalainen termi) ja otin hieman kuvia. meidän pikku asunto on alueen ulkoreunalla joten loppualuetta ei ole tullut tutkiskeltua turhan paljoa. mutta viime aikoina on tullut käveltyä kotiin pidempää kautta kun olen tullut kotiin kulmakaupasta tai muista paikoista jotka on eri suunnassa kuin meidän työpaikat. tämä on aika jännä paikka. täällä on noin 200+ asuntoa, mutta suurimman osan ajasta (n. 90%) ihan järjettömän hiljaista. ja erittäin harvoin näen ihmisiä kun käyn oman oven ulkopuolella. tutkimusmatkan aikana näin tasan yhden ihmisen. ja olen tähän mennessä löytänyt ainakin kaksi tyhjillään olevaa monitoimitalon tapaista rakennusta. ainakin joskus 20-30 vuotta sitten tällä alueella oli huono maine. mutta mun mielest tämä on aika kiwa paikka. mutta aina kun kävelen ympäriinsä täällä on semmoinen outo hieman hylätty fiilis, vaikka suurin osa asunnoista näyttää siltä että niissä asutaan.. en tiiä. tämä paikka on vaan niin erilainen kun vertaa meidän vanhaan naapurustoon joka oli keskustasta pienemmän kulman takana ja kaikki naapurit oli äänekkäitä kusipäitä ja ikkunan alla oli julkinen polku tjsp eikä meillä ollu kaksinkertaisia ikkunoita ja ehkä seinät oli tehty paperista. ja täällä on ainakin viisi kertaa enemmän naapureita. no mutta tässä kuvia(, ja lisää / loput löytyy 'Read More...' linkin alta.)

i went out and did stuff the other day and on my way back home i decided to do a little exploring around the council estate we live in. we live on the outer edge closest to the town centre (where we work) so we don't walk around the estate much. but the last couple of times i've been to the corner shop or other places in the opposite direction from town and work and our usual destinations, i've come back home the scenic route, wandering around the estate exploring different routes home. it's a pretty weird but cool place. there's about 200+ in the estate, but about 90% of the time it's super duper quiet. and i hardly ever see anyone either. while i was exploring i saw exactly one person. so far i've found / seen at least two completely unused community centre type places. and about 20-30 years ago this estate had a bit of a rough reputation. but i like it here. though walking around it always seem to give a bit of abandoned vibe even though most of the flats seem like people do live in them.. it's just very different from our old neighbourhood that was right off the high street and all our neighbours were noisy as fuck and there was a public footpath past out living room window and we didn't have double glazing and maybe the walls were paperthin too. and we have at least five times as many neighbours round here. but either way i like it here. both indoors and outdoors. either way, here's pictures (, and you can find the rest / more under the 'Read More...' link.)

moicca pitkästä aikaa! juu viime aikoina olen bloggaamisen sijaan lähinnä virkannut ja neulonut, aika paljon. suunnitelmani on tehdä itse suurin osa joululahjoista koska olen köyhä ja käyttää mun lankajemmasta ainakin suurin osa. tuo jemma osio on ollut hieman vaikeampi kun suurin osa mun lankavarastosta on pieniä nyt alle 50g palloja joista ei saa välttämättä mitään kokonaista ja 90% on pörrölankaa (angora ja mohair tyylistä) jota on tod. hankala purkaa jos lanka loppuu kesken ja tarttee aloittaa alusta/tehdä jotain muuta. ja värit ei tietenkään toimi raidallisiin yms monivärisiin projekteihin. elämä on niin vaikeeta. mutta tässä on mitä olen saanut tähän mennessä valmiiksi.

hey y'all, been a while yet again.. so yeah lately instead of blogging, i've been crocheting and knitting a lot *strong arm emoji* the plan has been to make a lot of my christmas presents cos i'm broke as fuck and use up my wool stash, which is easier said than done on the second part though as most of my stash is fluffy wool in decent but amounts = not quite enough to make a whole anything, probably. and if i run out in the middle of a thing i can't easily just undo it when it's in fluffy wool, as that shit gets tangled real easy. i guess i could make stripy things, but none of the colours i have really go together either. gosh my life is so hard D: but here's some things i've made. kind of.

pääkallo triangeli huivi. seurasin tätä suomenkielistä ohjetta. olen tästä erityisen ylpeä koska a) se on tosi magee, ja b) ennen tämän aloittamista mie luulin etten osaa virkata 'oikeesti'. eli ohjeesta. tai mitään muuta kuin isoäidinneliöitä tai samantapaisia.. mutta kuinkas tässä kävikään? mie osaan sittenkin virkata, ja suhteellisen monimutkaisen huivin!

crochet triangle skull scarf. (pattern, though i used this finnish version as when i first looked at the english version it didn't make sense to me, but finnish one did. they're essentially the same though the eyes are done differently.. luckily both have pictures, so those help. until making this i though i couldn't crochet anything beyond granny squares and their variations...

isoäidinneliöistä puheenollen, tämä megavihree hartiahuivi on periaattessa jättimäinen puolikas mummoruutu. super helppo mutta tuntui kestävän ikuisuuden virkata loppuun. (no joo kesti about viikon ehkä? mutta ottaen huomioon kaikki muut paitsi kallohuivi ovat kestäneet noin 2vrk, se oli ikuisuus) tämä oli minun ensimmäinen ihan loppuun asti valmiiksi tehty virkkausprojekti jee. en tiedä pitäisikö pitää itselle vai tuleeko siitä jonkun lahja... ja lisäänkö siihen hapsuja tai pompuloita (kuten ohjeessa on)

speaking of granny squares... this green triangle shawl (pattern) is basicly a giant half a granny square. easy as pie but felt like it took forever to make. and was my first proper crochet project that was finished for realsies and gets some use yay ♥

tämä pipo projekti on ollut pieni piikki kyljessäni. mie päätin tehdä pipon omalle päälle omasta päästä kun mikään ohje ei koskaan oikein toimi. mie päädyin purkamaan osan tai koko homman varmaan ainakin viisi tai kuusi kertaa (parilla eri värillä) kun joku meni aina väärin, oli liian iso tai liian pieni tai lanka loppui kesken tai sitä jäi liikaa (halusin käyttää 100g pallon paksua 'chunky' lankaa. valitettavasti googlettaminen ei kertonut miksi semmoista suomeksi/ssa kutsutaan) ennen kuin sain sen 'sopivaksi'. paitsi en ole ihan 100% varma että se on sopiva. kun en ole mikään massiivinen peruspipon fani. se tarttee jotain ekstraa, mutta en tiedä mitä. tarkoitus oli kirjoa siihen jotain (en tykkää tehdä ihan kunnon kirjoneuletta kun siitä tulee liian tiukkaa ja se on vittumaista ja hankalaa ja sitä pitää koko ajan olla katsomassa että mitä tekee..) mutta tuo taite on hieman tiellä mutta minusta se tarttee taitteen niin on korvat kunnolla lämpimät. no mutta ainakin mie nyt tiedän suunnilleen mitä tehdä ensi kerralla. pojan pikkuveljillä on isot päät, aattelin että niille vois tehdä jotain lämmintä ja nörttimäistä (mutta mitä?) jossain vaiheess varmaan ehkä vois kirjoittaa ihan ohjeen, kun tein muistiinpanoja työvaiheista mun ravelry projekti sivulla jee.

this hat has been such a pain in the bum. i decided to make a standard pipo to my specifications as i have a fairly strange knitting gauge (it seems to always be either too tight or too loose for most patterns) and a fairly large head. and i've made 100s of hats i never wear, i just enjoy knitting them. but yeah i ended up undoing this hat five or six times (at least) for various reasons before i got it right & didn't run out of wool. and im still not 100% it's quite right. but this one is mine and i know vaguely what to do now for the rest of them (bro-in-laws have heads that need warming up too) i might properly write up the pattern one day, i've got notes about it in my ravelry projects.

ja ihan vain pikku vilkaisu (omg mun käännöstaidot) mun tähän mennessä ainakin melkein jos ei ihan valmiisiin lahjaprojekteihin. (kun jos joku vaikka käy kattomassa mun blogia. kaikki paitsi tuo viimeinen harmaa juttu on tehty jemmalangoista.

niin ja sain jo alun inprogress kuvan neuleen valmiiksi eli tämmösen vintage henkisen turbaanin (ohje) joka on tosi helpoo ja ihana mutta huomasin tuossa yksi päivä sen kanssa tarttee olla 'tietynlainen asu' muuten se ei vaan toimi. :( valitettavasti en omista greta garbon puvustoa. toivottavasti / ehkä se toimii mun viitan kanssa? sitten ei oo väliä mitä löytyy takin alta. en ole vielä kerennyt kokeilla.

i also already finished the piece in the in progress photo from the beginning. it's a vintage style turban (pattern) which was super easy and nice but i realised the other day that it kind of needs a certain kind of outfit to 'work'. and unfortunately i do not own great garbo's wardrobe. hopefully / maybe it will work with my cape? cos then i can wear whatever underneath and it's not like i'll wear my knitted hat indoors, without the cape. just haven't had the change to try that combo. fingers crossed!

mitäs muuta? samaa vanhaa, ei paljoo sanottavaa. olen jo pariin kertaan aloittanut uutta juttua, yrittänyt selittää miksei oo juttua tullut niin pitkään aikaan mutta eihän siitä tullut mitään kun en itsekään tiedä mikä se syy on. joten ei siitä sen enempää. mitäs näin nyt just lähi aikoina? mun kännykkä teki bänät tässä juuri tänään / eilen illalla. siitä loppui illalla akku eikä se jostain kumman syystä suostunut lataamaan. otin yhteyttä operaattoriin ja niiden internetti apuri auttoi ja valitettavasti mie lähetin tänään mun puhelimen pois korjattavasti. takaisin saan sen varmaan ensi viikon loppuvaiheilla. miten mä pärjään? varsinkin kun meidän ipod on hukassa, mulla ei oo mitään millä kuunnella musiikkia, tai no mun tarinoita enemmän kuin musiikkia.. (tällä hetkellä vuorotellen welcome to night vale podcast ja gillian flynnin gone girl. molemmat A+++ kamaa) valitettavasti kaupasta hakemani sijaispuhelin on joku kauhee vanha samsung jolla saa vain soitettua ja tekstattua D: tuskani on todellista. on mulla täällä toinen vanhempi ipod joka toimii vielä mutta sillä on semmoinen todella paha tapa että akku loppuu ihan randomisti eikä se salettiin kestä kuin noin 1/4 jostain reissusta kaupungille hoitamaan aikuisten asioita. tai ehkä töihin muttei saleen takaisin.

what else? same old same old not much to say. ~~at least nothing positive?~~ i've started several blog posts explaining why i hadn't written anything in ages, but it was kinda hard since i don't really know why myself. so that's enough of that! what's been up lately? well, my phone decided to give up yesterday. it ran out of battery and then wouldn't charge or turn back on. i contacted my provider via their website and their live chat person was super helpful and unfortunately i had to send my phone off to be repaired today. i'll probably get it back sometime at the end of next week (4 working days they said) how am i gonna cope? carl's ipod's gone awol (oops) so i have NOTHING to listen to my tunes on. or well, stories more than music. (at the moment alternatively welcome to night vale podcast and gone girl by gillian flynn. both A++++ stuff.) unfortunately the replacement phone i got from the local branch is one of those old school phones you can literally just make phone calls & text with. UGH. my pain is real. i've got an older ipod that isn't lost but it has this lovely habbit of randomly running out of battery even though it totally still has battery, and it definitely won't last more than 1/4 of a trip to town to do adult shit. or maybe all the way to work but definitely not back.

niin no viime kerrasta on taas aikaa mutta blah blah blah samat vanhat tekosyyt niistä joskus myöhemmin. mie kävin viime viikonloppuna leedsissä zinefestailemassa. kuten yleensä mie en ottanu kuvia melkein mistään paitsi mun pöydästä ja vietin koko päivän pöytäni takana lähinnä yksin. jostain kumman syystä melkein aina kun järjestäjät järjestävät pöytäjärjestyksen, minä päädyn kauas kavereista ja mulla on superyksinäinen olo vaikka huone on tyylin täynnä kavereita. ja minähän en ikinä tuo pöytä seuraa kuten moni muu. me tehtiin ystäväni kirstyn kanssa sopimus että ensi kerralla pyydetään että ollaan vierekkäin tjsp. tuntuikohan se vaan pahemmalta tällä kertaa kun tapahtuma oli yllättävän hiljainen? leedsillä oli punk ja DIY taivas maine joten ois luullu että siellä zinet yms olisivat super suosittuja. enpä tiiä. ehkä ihmiset ei vaan tullu meidän nurkkaan (mulla oli selkä loppuhuonetta kohti joten en oikein nähny että mikä oli meininki...) tai ehkä se että uusi isompi tapahtumapaikka ei ole keskustassa kuten aiempi mesta vaikutti asiaan. en tiiä. mutta hei kyl mie varmaan menen ensi vuonna taas :D

so yeah it's been a while since my last blogpost but blah blah blah whatever same old excuse i might mention later on. or not. last weekend i popped up to leeds to do some zine festing. as usual i didn't take photos of anything other than my table really and spent most of the day alone behind my table (i did manage to get quite a bit of crochet done. which did lead to me running out of wool on the megabus home. oops.) for some reason usually whenever zinefest organisers assign the table locations i almost always seem to end up on the opposite side of the room from all of my friends and being lonely as fuck even though the room is technically full of my friends. and i never bring any tabling company (just my knitting) me and my friend kirsty made a deal to ask to be put next to each other next time we table at the same thing. (might be a while now though...) i might have felt extra lonely not only cos i was feeling extra emotionally fragile (yay!) but also cos the event seemed surprisingly quiet? leeds kinda has a reputation of being a punk & diy haven so you'd think zines etc would be super popular. i dunno. maybe it was actually busy but people just didn't wander into our corner and i just couldn't tell cos my back was facing the rest of the room... or maybe the change of venue had something to do with it? left bank was lovely and much bigger but it isn't in the city centre like wharf chambers and probably a little harder to get to... i dont know. it was still a good zinefest though, no organisational complaints, and i broke even, just about. but considering how broke i am in real life, i could have really done with better sales. (apparently it wasn't just me, my friends did mention not doing 'as good as usual' on the sales part. but hey we don't do these things for the £££ but it helps. i hate to sound like i'm obsessed with the capitalist side but ££ is a big deal when you're broke. it's easy to not give a fuck about money when you dont need to worry about paying your bills) anyway here's some pix?

mie suunnittelin ottavani 'zinefest style' asukuvia kaikista tyylikkäistä immeisistä, street style blogien tyyliin mutta hups mie unohdin noin viisi minuuttia idean ja ekan kuvan jälkeen. kunnes oli melkein aika pakata ja mennä kotiin ja otin äkkiä kuvia kavereista. hupsan. mutta tässä on ottamani kuvat :D

(lauantaina ja tänään) onneksi helle nyt hellitti viime viikon lopussa. ei tartteny töihin mennä pahimmillaan. vahinkolomalla ei tullut tehtyä juuri mitään jännää. olen hakenut uutta duunia (ei mitään onnea sen kaa tietenkään) aloin virkkaamaan ja nyt on ihan kuin olisin virkkaamiseen koukussa (ha ha ha) leiponut banaanileipää ja brownieita (oh parasta) katsonut lähinnä steven universeä ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ tuijottanut tyhjää sivua ja hikoillut paljon. jee jee jerry cotton. niin ja olen vähän aloittanut uuden bändin uuden ystävän O:n kanssa (kiitos facebook) meillä on ollut kahdet treenit meidän olkkarissa ja meillä on jo neljä biisiä joissa on musaa & sanat (vain yksi on vanha) ja yksi mistä puuttuu sanaa + melodia. ja minä onnistuin soittamaan JA laulamaan sunnuntaina vielä suhtiinsa tuntemattoman henkilön edessä (me nyt ollaan hengattu/tavattu vasta nämä kaksi kertaa) nyt jostain tarttetaan rumpali! tai O on sen verran taitava että jos ei rumpalia löydy, hän voi soittaa rumpuja koska kitaristeja on yleensä helpompi löytää. asiasta vois nyt tehdä jotain pikku hiljaa... edellisen bändin kitaristilla oli joku leidi rumpali vihje, pitäis varmaan kysellä. mulla on tästä tosi hyvä fiilis mutta usein unohtuu että bändistä on ihan oikeasti tulossa totta.

i dont know what it is with summertime and writer's blocks with me. it's not like i've been busy doing anything. this month so far i've only been to work twice saturday and monday just gone) cos the main printer is broken so there's not much for anyone to do other than tell people sorry we cant do your eight shitty pictures off your iphone on the spot cos we're saving our back up printer's ink for passport photos. sucks for my paycheck but it's also been a relief cos my unplanned almost two weeks off managed to land on the heatwave. like, it's just cooled down as i had work again. (that shop gets really fucking warm and i don't really own any work appropriate heatwave clothes for reasons unknown) i've been mostly hunting for a new job (with no success obvs) i got into crocheting and it's almost like i'm hooked (lol puns) ive been baking banana bread and brownies (yum) mostly watching steven universe ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ and staring at blank pages and sweat a lot. oh yeah. and i've kinda started a new band with a new friend (O) i made via facebook. like for real. we've had two practices in my living room and we have four real songs with musics and words and stuff (only one was old / already existed) and one that needs words & melody. and on sunday i managed to play bass AND sing at the same time, in front of still a relative stranger. so that's pretty cool. now we just need to find a drummer. or a new guitarist, cos O is super talented and can also play drums if need be.

tänään on vähän turha päivä. ollaan molemmat lähinnä murjoteltu enkä ole saanut aikaiseksi muuta kuin hei tämän ja juuri sain pistettyä ruokaostokset läpi. vähän hirvitti totaali mutta meillä oli esim öljy ja chillijauhe ja kumina ja cayennepippuri ja tiskiaine ja vessapaperi ja jumalaton purkki valmiiksi murjottua valkosipulia menny kaikki loppuun samaan aikaan. sitten kun niitä on uudet nii ei tartte ostaa pariin viikkoon/kuukauteen uudestaan. huomenna vois varmaan pestä pyykkiä, ehkä yrittää ommella tai ainakin aloittaa ompeluprojektia tai yrittää kirjoittaa jotain tai vaikka siivota. tehdä jotain semi-järkevää eikä vaan istua tässä ja tuijottaa jotain tyhmää internettijuttua. vois varmaan katsoa vähän orphan blackiä ja virkata lisää mun mega mageeta kallohuivia.

today's been a bit of a waste. we've both been in a crappy mood and i've managed to do fuck all except write this (just about) and put the online food shop through for delivery tomorrow. the total was a big scary but but but we had run out of basic stuff like veg oil and chillipowder and cumin and cayenne pepper and giant jar of minced garlic (cos i'm lazy) and toilet paper and washing up liquid and deodorant at the same time. we won't have to buy them again for at least a couple of weeks / months depending on the item. tomorrow i'm gonna try to do some laundry, maybe some sewing / get started on my new sewing project, or try to write something or at least tidy up a little bit. do something semi-productive and not just sit here stearing at dumb internet shit. i might watch some orphan black before bed and continue crocheting my super cool skull scarf.

mie kävin lauantaina lontoossa. keskusta lauantaina on helvettiä. varsinkin kun yrittää oxford streetillä helteellä ja hups siellä onkin pride kulkue tiellä. ugh. KAIKKI IHMISET IKINÄ. krääh. mie yritin metsästää sitä simpsons mekkoa ja eihän sitä tietenkään löytynyt eikä mitään muutakaan niin kivaa että ois raaskinut ostaa, ja sitten Meni Hermot. kävin sit covent gardenissa selaamassa forbidden planetissä eikä sieltäkään tarttunu mitään käteen. (melkein ostin the wicked + the divine vol ykkösen mutta mitäs jos joku osti sen lahjaksi??) kävin sit nurkan takana the dinerissa yksin syömässä meksikolaisen burgerin ja snickers pirtelön ja sitten kadutti kun ne oli aika kalliita ja vaikka olivatkin molemmat nannoja mutta ei välttämättä ihan niin nannoja (oma burgeri on melkein parempi.) nyt vähän harmittelee etten käyny hyde parkissa ei-pride queer piknikillä mutta kun luovutin sen simpsons mekon suhteen ei ollu yhtään sosiaalinen olo (itkin kaikki meikit pois kun vitutti ja harmitti niin paljon) sieltä covent gardenista mie sitten lähdin dalstonii päin power lunches puljuun kavereitten keikalle / läksiäisiin kattomaan hyviä bändejä ja hengaa tyylilyylien kaa ♥ ja siinä päivä parani ♥ (paitsi ystini e kyrsii jonnin verran vieläkin kun se tuli säätää mun rintsikoita ilman lupaa. jumalauta nainen! ei ilman lupaa! senno ecto gammat! ugh.) kaikki bändit oli NIIIN HYVIÄ ja mie olin hyvä tyttö enkä juonu mittään ja mie otin paljon kuvia ja vahingossa myös tein videoita jotka mie editoin yhteen vähän niin ja näin sunnuntaina. nyt on tosi inspis bändijuttujen suhteen jee jee taas. valitettavasti vikan bändin jälkeen piti HETI juosta pois junaan, en edes kerenny ihan kaikille sanoa moicca. mie kerkesin ja ostin junaan itselleni happy meal koska mixei? ja pääsin kotiin asti noin 2h myöhemmin ugh. no mutta tässä teille mun hieno montaasi (en oo hei aiemmin editoinu mitään että cut me some slack) ja sitten parhaita paloja ottamistani kuvista. loput/kaikki löytyy täältä.

i went up to london on saturday. central london on saturday is pure hell. especially when you're trying to get to the other end of oxford street and pride parade sponsored by barclays is in the way and there's ALL THE PEOPLE EVER and you cant get on central line in tcr ugh. halp. i was hunting for the magical simpsons dress from primark with no luck whatso ever. and i didn't see anything else either that i like enough to purchase. i went to covent garden to look at comics in forbidden planet and didn't find anything there either. (almost got the wicked + the divine vol 1 but what if someone got it for me for my birthday?? also picked up new batgirl but put it back for unknown reasons) then i went across the street and 'treated myself' to a mexican burger and snickers shake at the diner and then kinda regretted it cos even though they were both yummy i'm not sure they were _that_ yummy (i think i prefer My Burgers) on hindsight i wish i'd gone to the not pride queer picnic in hyde park but when i gave up on the simpsons dress i felt pretty darn anti-social (and i'd cried all my make ups off, including foundations yay!) after burgers i headed over to dalston to power lunches to see awesome bands at a friend's super secret going away gig she was completely unaware of ha ha and my day got a hell of a lot better. all the bands were SOOOOO GOOOOD and got to hang out with so many babely babes and i was good and didn't drink any boozes beyond a sip of kirsty's red stripe and i took lots of photos and even unintentionally filmed quite a bit and made a montage of it all on movie maker on sunday. i'm super inspired for band stuff again, of course. i had to run off straight after actual crimes finished to catch the last train home and i bought a happy meal for the train cos why not? here's my first evs montage + some highlights of the photos i took. you can see Everything HERE. oh and regarding the video, i wish wish wish i had filmed more of big joanie and good throb, but i'm dumb and didn't think of it D: i wasn't actually intending to do anything with any of the videos cos my camera is not very good, but it turned out sounding not that bad and well... next time?

niin ja sitten tänään on MUN SYNTTÄRIT JEE. eipä mulla kai oikeastaan ole muuta sanottavaa tähän hätään. on ollut ihan kiwa päivä, kivoja lahjoja, poika teki hyvää ruokaa om nom nom ja kohta saa brownieta ja jätskii mun kakkuna. jotain hyvää kans tapahtui eilen mutta en uskalla siitä puhua vielä jos neljäs kerta ei sanokaan sitä totta. huomenna olen menossa vähän lontooseen käymään ja ens viikolla pitäis tulla lisää lahjaa kun carlin perheenjäsenillä oli jo suunnitelmia tänään illalla niin ei päästy sinne perinteiselle kakkuu ja lahjoi ja jotain ruokaa kekkereille. sitä sit ens viikolla *sormet ristissä* mie hehkutan kunnolla sitten kun on juhlimiset juhlittu. poika on ny menny kylpyyn ja sitten kun se on puhdas me syödään sitä kakunkorviketta ja katotaan leffaa ehkä ja mie virkkaan lisää. ainiin ja koska on mun synttärit, vampire sushi distrosta saa 33% alennusta koodilla TUKRUBIRTHDAY. i think today i'm going to do a thing off my actual #blogeverydayjune subject list. and that is clothes i need. the problem (usually) either is that i haven't found the right one yet anywhere, or i have and simply can't afford it right now. or it's a fun combo of a bit of both.

mie tartten kesäksi shortsit. mielellään tämmöset korkeavyötäröiset, ei liian lyhyet. (nämä asoksen shortsit saattaa olla ihan pikkasen liian lyhyitä, koska chub rub. mutta vaikee sanoa ennen kuin kokeilee päälle) ♥ ♥ ♥ i need some shorts for the summer. preferably high waisted, not too short (tbh these asos ones look like they might be a wee bit too short cos chubrub but its hard to tell for sure without trying them on)

eniten tarvitsen ihan perus puuvillamekon (trikoot hiostaa) tällaista olisi tarkoitus tehdä itse heti kun kerkeen ja uskallan näin isompaa ompeluprojektia ja saan kaavan ja kangasta. vaatimukset: taas loose fit (liian piukee hiostaa kans hiostaa näin kesällä) noin polvipituinen, mielellään hihat ja ehkä myös kaulus. tällaiset ovat mun lempimekkoja mutta jostain kumman syystä en omista hyvää puuvillaista. tai sitten se on liian lyhyt tai vähän liian tiukka tai jotain. ♥ ♥ ♥ most of all i need a basic cotton dress (jersey makes me hot ok?) i'm totes gonna make lots of these in all the colours of the rainbow as soon as i get my butt in gear and also get my hands on a good pattern and some fabric. preferably loose fit (again, the tighter the hotter) approx knee length, with at least little sleeves and maybe a collar too. these are my favourite kinds of dresses but for some reason i dont own a good cotton one. there's always Something Wrong goddamnit with the shop ones! (usually they're just a bit too short for me grrr)

here's that lace top from primark that i mentioned on friday. it is kinda see through. though that could be easily fixed by have a black vest of some kind underneath. but i don't know. i think it might go back too, even though that £3 won't make that much of a dent in my purse. but still. or should i just keep it? a spagetti strapped vest is only £1.80 at primark after all. and it's not That Revealing, but i'm kinda shy like that. it's not a bad look at all (pretty witchy) but i'm not sure i'll keep it.

tänään on mun pikkuveljen synttärit. hän on nimeltään otto ja hän on tänään 31vee. today is my little brother's birthday! his name is otto and he is 31 today. (it's his fifth birthday in the picture above btw) since we live in different countries we don't see each other much, and when we do we kinda argua a lot cos siblings. or well i'm a sarky bitch and he thinks i'm being mean even though i' just being you know, a sarky bitch. it's just mah sense of humour innit. we've been getting a long better lately though. like we chat a bit on whatsapp or telegram, since today. and not just when i need to put money from my paypal to my finnish bank account via him for my student loan shit. otto makes beats (drum and bass jungle i dont fucking know anymore) drinks a lot of proper coffee, likes kitties and doesn't like goats cheese (wot??) he's alright even though i like to bitch and moan about him sometimes (not so much lately though) last time i was back in finland i brought along a buttload of old photos and i thought i'd scan some to celebrate his big day and embarrass him. (sadly no pics of his first poop though. what the fuck dad? i guess he was sick of poop by the time otto came along)

kun olin siellä manchesterissa zinefestailemassa, mie kävin festailun ja junan välissä niiden isossa primarkissa etsimässä niiden Simpsons bodycon mekkoa kun sitä ei ole näkynyt meidän paikallisessa kaupassa. siellä löytyi mekko, mutta niitä oli vain pari jäljellä ja suurin oli kokoa 14, eli kolme kokoa pienempi kuin yleensä (ja joskus se niiden 20 ei ole tarpeeksi iso) mutta mie ostin sen kuitenkin niin sain edes kokeilla sitä päälle jne. ja ihmeiden ihme, se mahtui päälle! tosin ihan vaan just ja just makkarankuori en pysty istumaan jne mutta se mahtui. siis enhän minä sitä pitänyt mutta jos mie joskus jostain löydän koossa 20 se tulee mahtumaan suht mukavasti ♥ tänään mie käsin sen palauttamassa ja hakemassa rahat takaisin.. mie olen menossa kahden viikon päästä lontooseen synttäröimään, toivottavasti semmoinen löytyy joko oxford streetin tai tottenham courtin puljusta. (mie löysin ebayltä mekon mun koossa mutta se on melkein 2x kaupan hinta. ehkä jos ei lontoosta löydy.) koska se on ihan selkeesti unelmamekko.

when i was in manchester zinefesting, i went to their big primark after zinefest before my train to look for the elusive Simpsons Springfield landscape print bodycon dress cos i haven't seen it at my local shop. and i found it! but the biggest one left was UK14. which is about 3 sizes smaller than my usual size (though sometimes even their 20 isn't big enough for me) but i bought it anyway to i dunno try on and cryy. but miracle of miracles, it fit me. or well i managed to get it on. it was way too tight. but i got it on, unlike many other things that are too small (usually i get stuck in things if they're too small) anyway, now i know a 20 should be big enough! i returned the size 14 today along with some other stuff (see below) and i'm crossing my fingers that when i go to london in two weeks for birthday funs etc i'll find one in oxford street or tottenham court maybe pretty please? (i did find a listing on eBay but it's like almost twice as much as in the shop! maybe maybe if i can't find one in london?) cos omg DREAM DRESS.

ostin silloin myös aiemmassa OOTD jutussa näkyneen powerpuff girls topin jonka on nyt ikuisesti mun kun se oli päällä ulkona ja se on nyt jo pestykin, ja batman rintsikka topin joka meni takaisin jo viime viikolla kun vaikka se oli <3, sen batman logo ei ollu keskellä! ei sen puoleen, ois se kyl varmaan ehkä muutenkin menny takasin kun mun budjetti. ja batman shoeliner sukkia eli sellasii mitä loppuu ihan just nilkkaluun alla. nekin ovat olleet käytössä. lepakkorintsikat vaihdoin trikookynähameeseen ja mustiin polvenpituisiin legginseihin ja loput vaihdoin tänään mustaan pitsipaitaan joka oli vaan £3 ja pakettiin flamingo sukkia (tarvitsin vaaleita nilkkasukkia okei?) ja ihan kylmään käteiseen. pitsipaita saattaa mennä takaisin jos se on ihan liian läpinäkyvä. mutta siinä oli valkoinen kaulus ja öh. se ois varmaan ihan salettiin ok mustan hihattoman / spagettiolkaimisen topin kanssa. no mutta siitä enemmän joku toinen päivä?

when i was there i also got the powerpuff girls kinda cropped top seen in the previous OOTD post which is obviously mine forever cos i've worn it outside and i've washed it and cos powerpuff girls RULE, and a batman bra top whatever i already returned last week even though it was <3, the batman logo was totes wonky and not in a good way. tbh even if it had been perfect i would have probably still returned it for £££ reasons. and i got some batman shoeliner socks cos batman socks. i swapped the batbratop for a black pencil skirt (i lost my old best evs pencil skirt recently) and black cropped at the knee leggings, and the rest i swapped today for a black lace top with white collar that was only £3 and a packet of flamingo socks (i needed some light coloured socks ok?) and mostly cold hard cash. i might return the lace top cos it'll probably be too see through, though it'l probably be A-ok with a black sleeveless or spagetti strap top underneath (i dont own any right now) and there's obvs that whole £££ and do i really need this? issue. but we'll see about that another day.

tässä jotain vanhoja kuvia jotka ovat homehtuneet koneella jo monta vuotta. mie oon ne skannannut kansion nimen perusteella joskus marraskuussa 2006 kun olin kotona käymässä meidän mummia hautaamassa. valitettavasti en tiedä enää ihan milloin kukin kuva on otettu. huonekuvat ovat julisteiden perusteella ehkä 1998 tai 1999, paitsi viimeinen 2000 jälkeen. mulla oli samat julisteet monta vuotta, niiden järjestys vaan vaihtui aina välillä. kamalat pinkit hiukset rasmuksen paulin kanssa olivat myös 1998. mustat hiukset ja pinkit raitasukat ovat joskus 2002-2003. piikkichoker vessaselfieistä en tiedä D: manics fanit vanhan ulkopuolella on lokakuulta 2002 ja viimeinen on samalta joulukuulta manic street preachersin jomman kumman cardiffin keikan eturivistä. no mutta joo tähän loppuun yx teini tukrun lempibiisejä evs.

here's some old as balls photos that have been on my computer for approx forever. according to the folder name i scanned them back in november 2006 when i went home to for my grandmother's funeral. unfortunately i'm not 100% sure when they were all taken. the room photos are from around 1998 or 1999 judging by the posters, except the last one's after 2000. i had more or less the same posters for years, i just slowly added to them and changed the order fairly often. the awful temporary pink hair with pauli from the rasmus is from 1998 and the black hair + pink stripy socks are from 2002-2003. i have no idea when the spiked choker toilet selfies are from (1997 maybe?) the manics fans outside Vanha in Helsinki is from october 2002 and the last one is from the front row of one of that december's manics gigs cardiff..... and here's one of teen tukru's favourite / theme songs to finish off with.

im kind of totally suffering from writers block at the moment. i'm staring at my suggested subjects list and nothing works today. i slept / stayed in bed until almost midday and got our foods delivered and i made us frittata for lunch and it was tasty but it fell apart. i thought about doing some gardening cos i need to repot some babies and i finally got more compost the other day. mostly i'm just staying up too late watching pretty little liars. i want to write so bad but i can't make anything come out. i made burgers and accidentally pink coleslaw for dinner and it was yummers. but mostly i've been watching more pretty little liars. oops. maybe tomorrow i'll manage to do something worthwhile. but for now i think i'm just gonna tell y'all i updated the vampire sushi distro website with a bunch of new zines and stuff the other day:

tänään äkkipikainen blogi koska kohta pitää lähtee ulos. tänään pukkaa paikallista keikkaa ja ex-bändin rumpalin synttäriä. bileet ovat Archer teemaiset mutta kun en ole sitä katsonut enkä jaksanut tehdä risöötsii yms mulla ei oo teemaan liittyvää asua, sori suze.. mutta teki mieli pistää tuo fiini zombie hame ja petticoat päälle ja pistää paljon meikkiä (kuva ehkä huomenna en tiiä) ja muutenkin olla fiini kun minnekäs muualle mie laittaudun whatevör. mie oon ollu koko päivän töissä joten vähän niinku väsyttää ja jalkoihin sattuu ja tupakka on lopussa eikä oo rahaa juoda viinaa mutta viime keikasta on aikaa ja uuden bändin likat sano että ne ehkä tulee ja me päästään ehkä vihdoin tekee jotain maailmanvalloitussuunnitelmia yyämäs. asukuvasta uupuu vielä huulipuna, TRUST NO MAN kaulakoru ja mun vanha kunnon punx farkkuliivi, ehkä myös ponitakki kun aurinko ei enää paistele. ehkä ois tää pitäny jättää huomiseksi ja ottaa kunnon kuva kun olen pistäny kaiken päälle mutta hah! tähän loppuun hei paikallisen bändin video jossa miekin olen kriippailemassa (ne ei kyl soita tänään moi!)

today's post is gonna be a quickie, cos i need to go out in a bit. there's a gig tonight and it's also my old band's drummer's birthday! the gig/party is Archer themed but since i haven't watched and tbh couldn't be arsed, i'm not wearing a themed outfit, sorry suze. but i felt like dressing up (at least a bit?) and putting on my petticoat and zombieskirt (petticoats for personal space!) and also put on a lot of make up (sorry no pix maybe tomorrow i dunno?) cos what the heck else am i gonna dress up for? i've been at work all day and my feet hurt and i'm totes running out of baccy and i can't afford to buy booze to get drunk (not that i'm bovvered really) but it's been a while since i've been to a gig locally (or at all) and the gals from possible new band said they might come and we might be finally able to make some plans to take over the world. my outfit photo is actually missing lipstick, TRUST NO MAN necklace and my trusty punx denim vest, maybe also my little pony jacket cos it ain't sunny outside anymore, might get a bit nippy. maybe i should have left this til tomorrow and taken a proper ootd with EVERYTHING but nah. i'll leave you with this video by a local band that i creep in too. tänään oli lämmintä ja kesäistä, ja paljaat kintut ulkona ekaa kertaa. tai siis polvesta alas päin. mie ostin primarkista nuo harmaat lyhyet leggingsit jo pari kuukautta sitten kun oli kokoa ja aattelin että ne tulee kesällä käteviksi kun paljaat kintut tulee super hikisiksi ja hinkkaavat toisiaan vasten ja sitten ei oo kivaa. (en tiiä mikä tää chub rub ois suomeksi) mulla on ihan pakko olla jotain jalassa jotka peittää mun reidet. muuten on vielä epämukavampaa kuin kuuma pylly. kävin tänään ostamassa vastaavat mustat, mutta ois kiva jos jostain löytäis halvalla semmoset jotka loppuu polven yläpuolella. perus shortsit on taas liian lyhyet. lähellä olevien kauppojen halvat perus sukkahousut on aina liian pienet/lyhyet ja ne valuu, eikä raaski vähän kalliimpia ostaa kun mitäs jos ne on kans liian lyhyet? kun sukkahousuja ei voi koittaa päälle tai palauttaa :( onneksi pitsiset / verkkosukkikset venyy enemmän ja pelastavat kesän kun on liian kuuma leggingseille..

today was totes summertime and i took my bare legs out for the first time. or well, bare from the knee down. i actually got the cropped leggings from primark a few months ago cos they had my size in stock and i figured they'd come in super handy in the summer. i don't so much get painful chafing / chub rub but my bare thighs get super sweaty and make each other extra sweaty and uncomfortable rubbing against each other. it's not painful, just uncomfortably mega sweaty you know? so i need something that covers up my thunder thighs almost down to the knee. for comfort. i just got matching black ones today, though it would be real nice to have some that end above the knee. your average shorts are too short. tights have a tendency to be too short/small and don't stay up. luckily fishnets and other lace type ones stretch more and save the summer when it gets too hot for leggings..

northwest zine fest ♥ ♥ ♥

viime lauantaina oli North West Zine Fest manchesterissä. ystäväni ingrid oli yksi järjestäjistä joten pakkohan sinne oli matkustaa ja mennä myymään. valitettavasti en löytänyt mistään yöpaikkaa joten oli pakko mennä ja tulla samana päivänä joka tarkoitti erittäin pitkää päivää. onneksi sain semi kohtuuhintaisen menopaluun junalla, koska megabussilla matkustaessa olisi tullut paljon pidempi päivä. junalla mulla oli lähtö lontoon eustonista klo 7.20 aamulla (bussilla ois pitäny lähtee jo edellisenä iltana ja olla samaan aikaan jo manchesterissa ihmettelemässä että mitäs nyt?) no mutta herätys oli klo 4.25 (JEEEE) ja mulla oli taksi varattu klo 5.30 viemään mut paikalliselle juna-asemalle mistä lähti juna lontoon st. pancrasiä kohti klo 5.54. onneksi mie heräsin hyvin ja pistin vaatteet päälle yms yms reippaasti ja pääsin ulos ovesta jo 5.20 = tarpeeksi ajoissa että ehti kävellä asemalle rauhassa koska kun mie soitin taksifirmalle perumaan taksia taksisetä kertoi ettei moista taksia ollut niitten listalla. prkl. mie varasin sen kaksi päivää ajoissa. onneksi en luottanut niihin sen enempää kuin omaan ulos lähtemiskykyyn. asemalle saavuin mukavasti ajoissa, kerkesin ostaa kahvia sinne edellisen pitkän reissun (sheffield maaliskuussa) jälkeen ilmestyneestä starbucksista ihan rauhassa. juna tuli ajallaan jee ja mie kuuntelin nicole sabouneta ja tarkistin noin 10 kertaa että mulla oli pitkän matkan juna lippu mukana. st. pancrasistä kävelin eustonin juna-asemalle (ehkä 10-15min kävelyreissu) ihan rauhassa kun oli 45min aikaa ennen seuraavaa lähtöä, mutta onneksi siellä ei tarttenu odottaa kauaa ennen kuin juna kuulutettiin ja sinne pääsi istumaan valmiiksi. junassa kuuntelin ola salon wildernessin kolmeen kertaan (taas) ennen kuin honasin että jumakeeka mun puhelimen akku D: (mulla ei oo sitä vielä kunnolla, toivon että joku ihana ostaisi sen vinyylin mulle synttäriksi joten mie hankin spotify premiumin ilmaisen kokeilun ihan vaan sitä varten että mie voin sitä kuunnella ilman nettiä ? ? ? ?) ja mie ompelin mun diy culturesissa hanecdotelta ostaman Zine Queen merkin mun punkkifarkkuliiviin.

so last saturday it was North West Zine Fest in manchester. my friend ingrid was one of the organisers so i totes had to travel up to table with vampire sushi and hang out with all the zine babes. unfortunately i couldnt find a place to stay so i had to go up and come back the same day which made A Very Long Day. luckily i got a semi reasonably priced return on the train cos going via megabus would have been an even long more than a day. my train was from london euston at 7.20 am where as on MB i would have had to leave the night before and i would have arrived in manchester around that time wondering what the fuck do i do now??? still my alarm was at 4.25 (yay) and i booked me a taxi at 5.30 to take me to the trainstation here to catch train to london st. pancras at 5.54am. luckily i woke up good and got ready and dressed quickly and actually got out of the house at 5.20 in time to walk to the station at a fairly leisurly pace. extra luckily cos when i ran the taxi firm to cancel my taxi, the bloke told me it wasn't on their roster or w/e. goddamn, i had booked it like 2 days in advance. well f u too. good i didn't trust them to be there. i got to the station in good time, got my ticket (which was a couple of £ cheaper than expected according to interwebs) and some coffee from the starbucks that's appeared at the station since i last went zinefesting up north (sheffield in mid march) the train was on time and uneventful, i listened to nicole saboune and checked i had my long distance ticket all printed out with me (i did obvs) from st pancras i leisurly walked to euston (i had 45 mins to do it, but it's only a 10-15 minute walk) and luckily i didn't have to sit and wait there too long til they announced the platform and started letting people on the train. on the train up i listened to ola salo's wilderness about three times til i realised i was used up a buttload of my battery (i don't have it on my ipod cos i'm hoping someone will be a sweetie and buy the vinyl for my birthday so i had to get spotify premium free trial just so i can listen to it offline until then) and i sewed my Zine Queen patch by hanecdote on my punkvest.

manchesteriin päästyäni suunnitelma oli ensin tavata ystäväni lou joka oli tulossa lincolnista ja sitten kirsty joka oli myös tulossa lontoosta mutta hieman (puoli tuntia) myöhemmällä junalla ja sitten mennä jonnekin syömään Kunnon Aamiaista niin sitten jaksaa. ja näinhän me tehtiin. mie kysyin random bussikuskeilta suosituksia ja ne suositteli Koffee Pot nimistä paikkaa oldham streetillä. valitettavasti se oli zine festistä ihan päinvastaisessa suunnassa mutta ei kaukana joten sinne me mentiin. ja oli se hyvää mutta mie olin vähän pettynyt mun full englishiin, se oli pienempi kun työpaikan viereisessä jesse's cafessa. full english tarttee sellasen ison ovaalin lautasen, tämä oli ihan vaan peruslautasella. no mutta se silti teki mitä tartti. mutta vähän harmitti etten tilannut eggs benedictiä kuten kirsty. se näytti nannalta ja sitä mie en osaa ite tehdä. no ens kerralla kun meen ulos aamiaiselle. valitettavasti feilasin enkä ottanu ruuasta tai syöntitovereista kuvaa. kun oltiin syöty, me käveltiin takaisin asemalle ja ohi, suoraan Star and Garter nimiseen pubiin jossa se North West Zine Fest oli. ja kerrankin mie sain aikaiseksi ja Otin Kuvia! (tosin vasta tapahtuman loppupuolella ja kesken mun 'kierroksen' tuli järjestäjiltä viestiä että hei kohta pitää alkaa pakkaamaan. omasta pöydästä en saanut tällä kertaa kuvaa.

when i got to manchester the plan was to first meet up with lou and then with kirsty and then go find us some proper breakfast before heading to zinefest venue. i asked a bunch of bus drivers for recommendations (burly men in hi-vis vests know all about breakfast) and they recommended a place called Koffee Pot which unfortunately was in the opposite direction from the zine fest venue but not too far in the northern quarter. it was yum but i was a little disappointed in my full english. i must confess i prefer one from my local next to work. in my foreign opinion a proper full english needs to be one one of those massive oval plates and still hanging off the edges. it still did the trick, i suppose the Koffee Pot was a little bit trendier / more hipster (?) than your average greasy spoon which is what i was looking for. maybe young bus fella was making assumptions on my appearance? still did the trick, though i secretly wish i'd had eggs benedict like kirsty. maybe next time i go out for breakfast to a place that does EB. i did a fail and didn't take a picture of food. i suppose i was just too hungry for that. anyway, once we finished eating, we headed back to the station (piccadilly) and past to the Star and Garter pub that was the venue for North West Zine Fest. and for once I Actually Took Pictures! though not til the end. like at the end of my rounds we got word that we should start packing so i had to rush to get trades & purchases sorted and i ended up missing some stuff. poop. always happens.

kivaa oli. ingrid, cherry, steve ja liz (tai kollektiivisesti Salford Zine Library jengi) olivat järkäneet hyvin ja ens kerralla meen taas ihan selkeesti. north west zine fest ei ollut yhtä mega kiireinen kuin edellisen sunnuntai diy cultures mutta mie myin sen verran että matka yms kulut sain takaisin enkä mennyt kotiin miinuksella. ja sitä paitsi oli kivaa nähdä ja hengata kaikkien tosi ihanien ihmisten kaa joita ei välttämättä näe kauhean usein. tosin oishan sitä ehkä voinut hengata enemmän (mie hieman jumitin itsekseni oman pöydän takana, kun mun ihan vieressä ei ollut muita pöytiä tällä kertaa) mutta noh. festien jälkeen halattiin ja sanottiin hei ja mentiin syömään (sitä sai taas etsiä ugh) mie kävin primarkissa etsimässä maailman mageinta simpsonit mekkoa mutta suurin oli kokoa 14 (ihan liian pieni, yleensä olen 20) ja sitten junassa takaisin etelään mie vihdoin romahdin. mua oli hieman väsyttäny ja nukuttanu ensin aamulla n. puoli tuntia ennen manchesteria, ja sitten väsytti noin zinefestin puolessa välissä mutta muuten olin ollu ihan epäluonnollisen super hereillä koko päivän, mutta kotimatka oli ihan pyllystä. lontoon juna tuntui kestävän IKUISESTI (2.5h) onneksi ehdin ekaan junaan takaisin lontoosta eikä tarttenu oottaa puolta tuntia isolla asemalla missä mikään ei oo enää auki ja onneksi kotona onnistuin nappaamaan bussin asemalta kotiin niin ei tarttenu enää kävellä. kotiin pääsin joskus varttia vaille kaksitoista (juna manchesterista lähti 19.35) sunnuntaina mie olin sitten ihan paskana. onneksi ei tarttenu tehdä mitään muuta kuin käydä kulmakaupassa ostamassa maitoa (sekin oli kyllä ihan liikaa)

it was good times. ingrid, cherry, steve and liz (collectively also known as the Salford Zine Library crew) had done a great job putting the zinefest together. obviously it wasn't perfect but hey, next time will be even better, i know it ? it wasn't super busy like diy cultures the sunday before but i made my train fare etc back and wasn't out of the pocket by the end of the day so that's yay. also got to see and hang out with a bunch of awesome people i don't get to see much cos of physical distance. after we all packed up and said good byes and stuff and the food (burritos with emma) i popped into primark to look for the elusive simpsons / springfield landscape dress which i found but only in a 14 (far too small) and i got the train back and this is where i finally crashed. i had a bit of a tired funny half an hour just before arriving in manchester in the morning, and then again half way through the zine fest but most of the day i was fine and alert and Awake. but journey home was no fun. the train to london seemed to last FOREVER (two and a half hours) i just about made the first available train home (didn't have to wait around st pancras for half an hour for another one yay) and i managed to get a bus home from the bus station so i didn't have to walk home (though i thought i had just missed a bus from the train station and then as i walked down to the bus station that 'missed bus' drove past me about 5 mins late. ugh) i got home about quarter to midnight. the next day i was pretty much utterly exhausted. it's good i had no plans whatsoever and didn't have to do anything beyond go to the cornershop to buy milk and bogroll. to be honest, just that was way too much for me.

tähän loppuun olis kai pitäny pistää kuva kaikesta kivasta mitä ostin / vaihdoin kun zinefestailin mutta äh, mie en muista minne mie oon ne ny pistäny ja nyt on jo kans sen verran pimeetä ettei saa hyvää kuvaa. hups. nyt vois ehkä yrittää päivittää tuota distron sivuja lisää, on nimittäin aika paljon uutta kamaa mitä sinne pitäis lisätä :D

it would have been nice to like add a picture of all the zines etc i bought / traded while up there but erm, i have no idea where i've put them while unpacking and it's kinda dark now so none of it would photograph well if i did know where i've put it. oops. i should probably go and continue trying to update the distro website anyway cos i've got about 100000000 zines to add on there (well, like 15+)
