Family is the basic unit of an Islamic social system. Islam stresses upon the overall moral and spiritual development of an individual. It creates such a pattern of grooming and training for the individual that not only helps in exploring his/her potential and inner capabilities but also shapes his/her moral and spiritual character and attitude. Unlike Western philosophy of individualism, Islam stresses upon a human character based on the philosophy of collectivism. Family plays a pivotal role in materializing the Islamic concept of human development by engaging the institution of family in such a way that functions naturally, and consequently shaping a God- fearing, productive, humane and vibrant human personality based on the golden principles of the Quran and imitable Sunnah of the Messenger of ALLAH (PBUH).

This paper is an attempt to explore the Quranic principles and Prophetic traditions recommended for developing an ideal human personality in a desired and natural way.

The family system is the image of any society or civilization. At the moment, human rights in every civilization has been disturbed by family problems and it is not related to any particular civilization, but all civilizations including the African, Spanish, European and Japanese have been affected by it. As a Muslim, we believe in every heavenly book. The holy Quran and the rest of the heavenly books give a lot of importance to family life. The manner of spending family life de- scribed in the Quran is not only practical, but serves as a great example to be followed. If we take examples from the family life of the holy Prophet (PBUH), we will get guidance in every sphere of family life. Let us take the case of marriage. There are orders in every respect. There are instructions about ob- serving Purdah, education of women, her interaction with men, payment of dower and returning the dower that a wo- man receives from her husband in case of Khula.

Quran also talks about the Prophet's (PBUH) wives and nature of his relations with them and the numbers of wives that a person can have at one time. There are rules relating to marriage, divorce, widow and Khula. These are the most important aspects of the family life. Quran also provides solution to problems like domestic violence & sexual harass- ment. It also deals with present day issues of family life such as homosexuality, rights of spouses as well as rights of parents and children.

Relationship Between Quranic Practices, Religious Orientation and Psychological Wellbeing

The Holy Quran is the book of blessings, a source of guidance and the last Divine religious scripture for mankind. The exhilarating recitation of the Holy Quran and its listening play a significant role for physical and psychological health. One of the purposes of this study was to develop a scale to measure Quranic practices. The present study also explored the relationship between religious orientation, Quranic practices and psychological wellbeing. The sample of one hundred university students, who participated in this study, was taken. Three self-administered scales the Religious Orientation Scale (Gorsuch & McPherson, 1989), the Psychological Well- Being (PWB) Scale (Diener & Biswas-Diener, 2009) & the newly constructed Quranic Practices Scale (Khan) were used to measure religious orientation, psychological wellbeing and Quranic practices respectively. For statistical analyses of the data Pearson product-moment correlation was applied and the results focused on the relationship of Quranic practices with religious orientation and psychological well being. Gorsuch and McPherson (1989, the Psychological Well-Being (PWB) scale (Diener & Biswas-Diener, 2009) and the Academic Stress Scale (a 40-item modified questionnaire) were used to measure resilience, psychological wellbeing and sources of university stressors respectively. For statistical analyses of the data Pearson product-moment correlation will be applied and findings will be utilized to understand the relationship bet- ween the three variables. The findings of the study can be used to work on ego resilience as an individual ability in university students to enhance their overall academic performance and well-being.

According to the common belief of Muslims, ALLAH the Almighty sent nearly 124000 prophets and messengers to this world for guidance of mankind with some being given holy scriptures. Some prophets came with divine laws (Shariah). Four important books were also revealed to prophets by ALLAH, which besides discussing other matters, also provide instructions about family life. Because family is the basic unit of the society so the details about family life exist in all four holy books, namely Tawrat, Zabur (Book of Psalms), Injil (Gospel), The Qur'an. Likewise, signing of a marriage contract, protection of financial rights of women after marriage, better training and guidance of children, conditions of separation in case of discord, determination of inheritance etc, instructions about all these types of issues and detailed directions are given in the heavenly books.

One of the many attributes that distinguishes humans from other creatures on earth is the sensitivity of the humans towards the rationale of living a satisfactory and happy life. In this modern era of technological advancement, it appears that the humans are racing towards gathering as much material gains as possible. The lust for wealth and power has remained the ambition of not only humans as individuals, but also the desires of the nations. Does this approach bring satiety and happiness to them remains a debatable question.

Time after time it has become glaringly obvious that even with enormous wealth and position, the humans have failed to achieve the aforementioned objective in their lifetime. The Holy Quran is the only scripture that has remained intact and unaltered from the day it was revealed to the Holy Prophet (pbuh). There is a common misunderstanding that Allah for- bids looking for joy of life and refrains humans from seeking happiness. The Quran, on the contrary, guides towards a life- style of sharing our blessings with the underprivileged to obtain the pleasure and content that the soul is searching for.

Islam gives an immeasurable importance to family life and its sanctity because family is a building bloc of a prestigious and civilized society. A father or husband can steer his family. In right direction if his own heart and soul is illuminated by glossy Islamic tenets. In Islam earning a Halal living is itself a religious obligation second in importance after the primary religious obligations like prayers, fasting and Hajj. Holy lives of honorable apostles of God are glorious examples of Halal subsistence. They actually guided their followers to adopt fair sources of wealth and income. In-depth studies reveal that fair and unfair means of economy have its inward and outward impacts which effect human life positively or negatively. In pre-Islamic era, there was not a single clue of differentiation between Halal (legitimate) and Haram (illegitimate) in social and economic spheres of life. Barbarism and brutality was supreme law in that world. Their domestic life was like a hell. With the advent of Islam, humanity witnessed a great grand revolution. The holy Prophet (pbuh) and his disciples adopted licit means of livelihood. Their homes were also the cradles of uprightness, simplicity and contentment. Their families produced such sanctified characters in Islamic history who changed the destinies of nations and individuals by adopting an approach which was based on high moral character and integrity and they proved that righteousness was the actual wealth. Unfortunately, contemporary world is rife with bri- bery, gambling, corruption & fraud, & the day of resurrection has been forgotten.

In this article these crucial issues will be addressed in the light of Islamic teachings and their true solution will also be presented.

One of the best ways to come very close to the cure of the situation of mistrust among the sects of the same religion and among different religions of South Asia is trying to inculcate and promote peace and harmony through Sufi literature, traditions and values. This write up will concentrate on how mystic literature can contribute to intra/interfaith re- conciliation & peace. History shows that in a hostile situation and challenging times, problems were tackled effectively by Muslim saints in the Sub-continent by cleansing & beautifying the inner and the outer aspects of human beings.

This paper will try to prove that reform in society comes through love, humility, softness and not through violence and aggression. Preaching (Dawa) is an expression of love, there- fore, Islamic spiritual values can instil flexibility rather than rigidity and tolerance and acceptance of others which will lead to pluralism. Spiritual values will become motivating powers and minimize violence. This piece of writing aims to establish a culture of peaceful coexistence through mutual understanding which is one of the essential components for sustainable development in contemporary Pakistani and other Muslim societies.

The Quranic lifestyle can best be described in the golden words of Holy Prophet (PBUH), which says; "The best of people are those that bring most benefit to the rest of mankind." This saying of the Last Messenger of Allah is the essence of Quranic life style, providing complete guidance as how a Muslim should behave with rest of human beings irrespective of their religions, cast or creed. Islam firmly emphasizes on the moral aspects of human beings & morality is sum total of best human behaviour, ethics and norms. Being a universal religion, the message of Quran is for entire human beings, thus making international application and context of the Quranic life-style. In the era of globalization where world has become a global village; the adoption of Quranic life-style would add credence. This is because, at the international level, capitalism has promoted avariciousness and abhorrence by lowering the human values and morality. Degradation of human being and human values, a counter narrative to Quranic life style has created unrest at international level besides its intrastate, inter-state implications. Among the entire international community, the Muslim world is the worst sufferer, being away from Quranic life-style. In order to adequately address the unrest at international level, the best recipe is available in the form of Holy Quran & Sunnah of Holy Prophet (PBUH).

The paper therefore aims at highlighting the; socio-economic, socio-moral and socio-political aspects of Islam and its universal applicability for the common good of humanity in the domain of International Relations.

The individual wellbeing is re-lated to multi-dimensions such as body and soul, and domains such as his self, family, community, nation and faith. Humans possess a set of desires about all or most of these domains which define their life satisfaction.

According to conventional economics, humans get satisfaction from materialistic goods & services which may be observable and available on certain price. However, the Qurán says that, "Those who believe, & whose hearts find satisfac- tion in the remembrance of Allah for without doubt in the re- membrance of Allah do hearts find satisfaction" [13:28].

Considering the Quranic view, Divine economics proposes that humans derive life satisfaction from a variety of goods, services and activities concerned with such dimensions and domains which are partly materialistic and partly spiritual. Hence, their economic behaviors are governed by their mate- rial as well as spiritual values relating to all of these dimen-sions & domains. These values are shaped by different factors including the faith in a religious society like Pakistan.

The paper provides theoretical relationships of religious, spiritual and moral values with wellbeing by deriving insights from the holy Qurán. It paves the way for future researchers in economics, sociology and other disciplines, who are inter-ested in studying human health, social success and wellbeing by maintaining a lifestyle aligned with Qur’anic lifestyle.

Quranic Concept of Marriage & Sphere of Activities of Both Genders in Society

This article is meant to introduce the concept of pairs in the holy Quran and that the universe is functioning on the basis of pair system. Usually the two members of every pair have two different qualities and nature of jobs, one of them may be named as negative and the other as positive. This concept is based on the holy verse: "And we have created pairs of everything so that you remember" (51:49). Some scientific examples are also inserted to make the idea more clear. A cell in living things and atom in non-living things can make good examples. In an atom, proton and electron work on negative and positive charges respectively with both of them having their own rotation space. Specialized in one aspect of the energy, they function at one time, at the same speed, at the same number and create energy and balance to keep the atom at its natural position. They never mix-up nor interfere in other's jobs, but in the same time no one of them can be self-sufficient.

As an example from the holy Quran, we can quote here the earth and the sky, as there is a regular and scientific interaction between the earth and the sky to produce food for creatures. Likewise, the status of woman and man in a human society has been addressed in numerous verses of the holy Quran as pairs from mankind and the conclusion is that both the genders are equal in importance but they are never equal in job description. Exceptions are always there. Both the genders have their own specialized circle of function to build up the society. Frequent interruption in each other's jobs destroys the circle of function assigned to them. There is not doubt that none of them work without the help other but they must remain working according to their specific jobs.

شادی کا قرآنی تصور اور معاشرے میں دونوں جنسوں کی سرگرمیوں کا دائرہ

اس مضمون کا مقصد قرآن پاک میں جوڑوں کا تصور پیش کرنا ہے اور یہ کہ کائنات جوڑے کے نظام کی بنیاد پر چل رہی ہے۔ عام طور پر ہر جوڑے کے دو ارکان میں دو مختلف خصوصیات اور کام کی نوعیت ہوتی ہے، ان میں سے ایک کو منفی اور دوسرے کو مثبت کہا جا سکتا ہے۔ یہ تصور مقدس آیت پر مبنی ہے: "اور ہم نے ہر چیز کے جوڑے بنائے ہیں تاکہ تم یاد رکھو" (51:49)۔ خیال کو مزید واضح کرنے کے لیے کچھ سائنسی مثالیں بھی ڈالی جاتی ہیں۔ جانداروں میں ایک خلیہ اور غیر جاندار چیزوں میں ایٹم اچھی مثالیں بنا سکتا ہے۔ ایک ایٹم میں، پروٹون اور الیکٹران بالترتیب منفی اور مثبت چارجز پر کام کرتے ہیں اور ان دونوں کی اپنی گردش کی جگہ ہوتی ہے۔ توانائی کے ایک پہلو میں مہارت رکھتے ہوئے، وہ ایک ہی وقت میں، ایک ہی رفتار سے، ایک ہی تعداد میں کام کرتے ہیں اور ایٹم کو اس کی فطری پوزیشن پر رکھنے کے لیے توانائی اور توازن پیدا کرتے ہیں۔ وہ کبھی بھی گھل مل جاتے ہیں اور نہ ہی دوسرے کے کاموں میں مداخلت کرتے ہیں لیکن ساتھ ہی ان میں سے کوئی بھی خود کفیل نہیں ہو سکتا۔
قرآن پاک سے مثال کے طور پر ہم یہاں زمین اور آسمان کا حوالہ دے سکتے ہیں کیونکہ مخلوقات کے لیے خوراک پیدا کرنے کے لیے زمین اور آسمان کے درمیان باقاعدہ اور سائنسی تعامل ہوتا ہے۔ اسی طرح انسانی معاشرہ میں عورت اور مرد کی حیثیت کو قرآن کریم کی متعدد آیات میں بنی نوع انسان کے جوڑے کے طور پر مخاطب کیا گیا ہے اور نتیجہ یہ نکلا ہے کہ دونوں جنسیں اہمیت کے لحاظ سے برابر ہیں لیکن کام کی تفصیل میں وہ کبھی برابر نہیں ہیں۔ مستثنیات ہمیشہ موجود ہیں۔ معاشرے کی تعمیر کے لیے دونوں جنسوں کا اپنا مخصوص دائرہ کار ہے۔ ایک دوسرے کی ملازمتوں میں بار بار رکاوٹ ان کے لیے تفویض کردہ فنکشن کے دائرے کو تباہ کر دیتی ہے۔ اس میں شک نہیں کہ ان میں سے کوئی بھی دوسرے کی مدد کے بغیر کام نہیں کرتا لیکن انہیں اپنے مخصوص کام کے مطابق کام کرتے رہنا چاہیے۔

دعا سُریانی اردو ترجمہ کے ساتھ

خواص دعائے سریانی!

برادرانِ طریقت و محبان سیّدالمرسلینؐ کی خدمت با برکت میں عرض ہے کہ اس کو دُعائے سریانی اسلئے کہا جاتا ہے کہ صحیفہ یہ زبور و حضرت داؤد علیہ اسلام پرسریانی زبان میں نازل ہوا تھا، اس کی آیات کا کسی واقف نے عربی زبان میں منظوم ترجمہ کیاہے، یہ دعائے سُریانی کے نام سے موسوم ہے،اس کے تمام تر خواص احاطہ تحریر سے زیادہ ہیں مگرایک بات جو گوش گزار کرنی ضروری سمجھتا ہوں اس کو ضرور سمجھ لینا چاہئے کہ دعا خواہ سریانی زبان ہو، خواہ عبرانی، خواہ عربی یا ارود، خواہ وہ دُعا دل ہی دل میں کی جارہی ہو، قبول ضرور ہو جاتی ہے، بشرطیکہ دُعا کرنے والا خالی دُعا ہی نہ کرے بلکہ دعا کی قبولیت کے لوازمات پربھی پوراعمل کرتا ہو اور س پرخلوص قلب اور توکل بھی رکھتا ہوچنانچہ اُدْعُوْنِیْ اَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ اس پرشاہد ہے مگرآج کل ہمارے اورادخواں اِن لوازمات کوبھول گئے اور بیشتر حضرات ریاکی مرض میں گرفتار ہو گئے ان گندم نما جَو فروش وظائف خوانوں میں سے ایک حکایت بطورتمثیل نقل کرنے کی جسارت کرتا ہوں مگر حاشاوکلّا کسی کی تحقیر مطلوب نہیں چنانچہ واقعہ یُوں ہی کہ ایک گاؤں میں ایک وظیفہ خواں ہرروز صبح دعائے سُریانی جو پنجابی ترجمہ میں منظوم ہے وِرد کرتا تھا، مگر رات کو اپنے چوپایوں کے لئےچارہ بھی چوری چوری لے آیا کرتا تھا اُس کی نیک بخت عورت اُسے ہمیشہ اس فعل شنیع سے منع کیا کرتی مگر وہ باز نہ آتا چونکہ مگروہ نمازی اور اَورادخوں تھا،لہذا زمینداروں کواُس پر کوئی شبہ نہ ہوتا کہ یہی حضرت شوق و ذوق سے دُعائے سُریانی پڑھنے والے چورہیں، غرض چونکہ وہ باز نہ آیا، اس لئے اس کی پارسا عورت نے (مالکانِ راعت) زمیندارن کومن وعن حالات سے آگاہی دی پھر کیا ہئوا، یہ حضرت مجلس زمینداروں میں پٹے گئے اور تمام گاؤں میں نشانہ بنے خیر!اُس گاؤں میں ایک مولوی صاحب بھی تھے بڑے زندہ دل اُنہوں نے بھی حالات سُنے، کچھ ما شاء اللہ شاعر بھی تھے فی البدہیہ دعائے سُریانی منظوم یہ پنجابی کی طرز پر ہی یہ شعرلکھِ دیئے:۔

جوکوئی پڑھے دُعا سُریانی راتیں وَڈھے کنک بیگانی

ظاہراُسدی کرے زنانی وڈےّ ویلے پگڑیا جاندا

جُتّیو جُتِّی ماری دا

اب راقم الحروف نہایت عجزو انکسار سے خدمت بابرکت میں عرض گذارہےکہ خالی وظائف سےکچھ نہیں ملتا جب تک کہ دل کی صفائی نہ ہو،اورادعیات اوروظائف کے خواص توبیحدہیں مگرہم لوگوں کوکیوں فائدہ نہیں ملتا،دُعائیں قبول نہیں ہوتیں، وجہ یہ کہ اسلام ضعیف ہوگیا سچائی اور حلال کا شمارکہیں نہیں ہئوا،خلوص انکسار توکل بخداخشوع وخضوع عرضیکہ قبولیت کے لوازمات نہی ںہیں ہے۔ ہاں کوئی ﷲ کا بندہ حضور قلب سےاس وحدہ لاشریک کی بارگاہ سے ہی سب کچھ طلب کرے تو وہی کارسازہرایک کم کرسکتا ہے، ضروردُعامنظور کریگا۔ اُسکے بغیر کوئی دعا قبول کرنے والا نہیں،اُسکےبغیرکوئی تکلیفات کودُور نہیں کر سکتا۔

اس دعائے مکرم کوبھی مندرجہ بالا شرائط کے ساتھ پڑھنے سے درجات عالی ملتے ہیں، دینی دنیوی مُرادیں حاصل ہوتی ہیں تمام بلیاتِارضی و سماوی دُور ہو جاتی ہیں،

خواہ کوئی کسی طرح کی مصیبت ہو اضطرارکےساتھ اس کا ورد کرےتوضرور دور ہوگی،آخردنیاوی تو یہی ہیں،کمی اولاد، کمی رزق، قرضہ، بیماری، قحط سالی، کسی قریبی کا گُم ہوجانا،راستہ بُھول جانا،دشمنوں کاخوف آسیب وغیرہ وغیرہ یہ دعا تمام تر مصائب کے لئے مجرب ہے۔

Namaz ke Mustahabbat - نماز کے مستحبات

نماز کے مستحبات

وہ پانچ باتیں جو نماز میں جن کی پابندی مُستحسن ہے۔

1۔ تکبیر تحریمہ کہتے وقت دونوں ہتھیلیاں آستینوں سے باہر نکال لینا۔

2۔ رکوع اور سجدہ میں تنہا نماز پڑھنے والا تین سے زیادہ مرتبہ تسبیح کہے۔ مثلاً پانچ یا سات بار-

3۔ نگاہ درست رکھنا ، یعنی :

قیام کی حالت میں سجدہ کے مقام پر
رکوع میں اپنے قدموں پر
جلسہ اور قعدہ کے وقت اپنی گود پر
سلام پھیرتے وقت اپنے کندھوں پر نظر رکھنا۔

4۔ کھانسی کو حتی الامکان روکنا۔

5۔ جمائی میں منہ بند رکھنا، اگر کھُل ہی جائے اور قیام کی حالت میں ہو تو دائیں ہاتھ کی پشت منہ پر رکھ لے۔ قیام کے علاوہ دوسری صورتوں میں بائیں ہاتھ کی پشت منہ پر رکھ لے۔

مندرجہ ذیل امور بھی مُستحسن ہیں :-

تکبیر تحریمہ اور نیت کرنے سے قبل یہ آیت کریمہ پڑھنا۔

اِنِّىْ وَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِیَ لِلَّذِیْ فَطَرَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ حَنِيْفًا

وَّمَا اَنَا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ ۚ اِنَّ صَلَاتِیْ وَنُسُكِیْ وَمَحْيَایِ

وَمَمَاتِیْ لِلهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ ۚ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهُ ط وَبِذَلِكَ اُمْرِتُ

وَاَنَا مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِيْنَ

ترجمہ: "میں نے اپنا رخ سب سے منہ موڑ کر اس ذاتِ پاک کی طرف کیا،جس نے

آسمانوں اور زمین کو پیدا کیا ہے۔ اور میں مشرکوں میں سے نہیں ہوں۔ بیشک میری

نماز، میری قربانی، میرا جینا اور میرا مرنا تمام جہانوں کے پروردگار اللہ کے لیے

ہے۔ اس کا کوئی شریک نہیں۔ اور مجھے اسی بات کا حکم دیا گیا ہے۔ اور میں

اطاعت کرنے والے (مسلمانوں میں سے) ہوں"۔

۱- رکوع کے بعد قومہ میں یہ تحمید پڑھنا۔

رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ حَمْدًاكَثِيْرًا طَيِّبًا مُبَارَكًا فِيْهِ

ترجمہ: "اے ہمارے رب تمام تعریفیں تیرے ہی لیے ہیں۔ بہت زیادہ تعریف

پاکیزہ اور مبارک"۔(مشکوۃ)

۲۔ دونوں سجدوں کے درمیان جلسہ میں یہ دعا پڑھنا:

اَللّٰهُمَّ اغْفِرْلِیْ وَارْحَمْنِیْ وَاهْدِنِیْ وَعَافِنِیْ وَارْزُقْنِیْ

ترجمہ: "اے اللہ! مجھے بخش دے، مجھ پر رحم فرما، مجھے ہدایت دے، مجھے عافیت

عطا فرما، اور مجھے رزق دے"۔(سنن نسائی)
