He wanted, or was commanded to apologize to Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, and her daughters for his shocking jokes about Sarah Palin's family last week. He did seem earnest in the apology, though, even after a war of words in his own defense. A comedian can easily find himself in trouble for his looseness and freedom in expressing a point of view or to get a laugh. And the David Letterman apology was the final result of this comedian’s freedom of choice. He promised to be more careful in the future but we know David Letterman, he dances to his own comedic tune. Well, that’s the life of a daring “funnyman”, and how we love them.

My Goodness...Headbanging And Tragedy At The 2009 Tony Awards

I enjoyed the Tony Awards...that opening number was out of this world, that was one magnificent production. The host was down-to-earth and cool, I felt him but I’m afraid Elton John didn’t appreciate his Billy Elliot “scratch-n-sniff” joke. Well...still I loved most of the show...gotta watch again, I tell ya...maybe in 2020....ha...ha....just kidding. Billy Elliot did well, huh? It brought home 10 Tony Awards. WOW!!!

But come on folks...what happened, who was out to get the guy from Poison during the “Rock Of Ages” set - Bret Micheals? I almost fell out(yes, again), when I found out that he went through this. Why did this have to occur - we dealing with professional technicians, right! CRAZY!!! But as they say, “the show must go on”....and they never told us about the incident during the Tony Awards telecast. See, we entertainers have a hard job, too...we can get injured on the job, too. But, I’m thinking somebody on the Tony Awards didn’t quite love Mr. Bret Micheals - that he wanted to hurt Poison’s lead singer. There are many “player haters” in the music industry and show business. How could such an obviously avoidable mishap occur...just hold the prop up til Bret Micheals clears it. HUH?!!!

Well, Bret made it - but the Tony Awards must be more careful when it comes to checking out their stagehands.... Please!!! Bret, get well, man...don’t worry, you will be back rockin’ the house in no time at all.

HDTV: A Government Crime!

I’m so mad, this US government has made a deal with cellular telephone companies behind my back? I’m appalled...I’m disgusted, I feel the government has did me in again. How can our government officials do such things over and over? We are just pawns in the government's game, they use us and abuse us...yes, politics is a dirty game.

But this issue - HDTV - is criminal, the deal was done with no public acknowledgement at all. Where was the media? See you can't totally trust the media either...could they be in on the take, too? A good question, huh? A question that needs to be answered. But this high definition television transition is so unfair even if one is financially able to acquired it. By financially able i mean people who can purchase a high definition television, or who can buy a converter box - these people feel no pain in this HDTV transition. How can they? They have the money to do what is needed to continue seeing their televisions.

The crime committed by the US government entails the total failure of implementing a plan that would have insured that all - the rich and the poor - would have access to a public, tax-supported(FCC) upgradation of our airwaves. I and every other citizen should have been given a no cost solution to this transition to a new frequency band. It is obvious that this was done behind closed doors...and now we get to smell the unbearable stitch of the dirty, unfair dealings of our FCC. This is appalling to the upmost. This high definition situation is so...so unfair; in that, it is a tax, public issue. Tell me, if you didn’t have the funds to buy a new tv, or you couldn’t even afford a converter box, would you feel our government was watching out for you? No!! I’m sure you would say that the FCC really let us down this time agree. Yes...we done have to watch television, that’s so true but we all do, and the airwaves are for all us american citizens, and we have the FCC to insure that we all have the right to these airwaves. How can they flip the switch and cut off a good portion of the television viewing public when they are supposed to look out for our interests.

The results of this underhanded agreement will be devastating, many will go without tv...I sorely feel for these people. Many have no access to the internet, many can’t read, many do not have the money that they will need to go along with the coupons the government is issuing. They really messed up this time - greed was forefront in the FCC’s mind this time - they did us in bigtime. I speak mostly for the have-nots, these people are and will suffer from this so unfair circumstance. So many will be without television come June 12, 2009. What an inconsiderate, selfish act on the part of our government and electronics companies. You all get a F, what a horrible way to treat your fellow americans. I have spoken.

Patrick Swayze, Dead Or Not?

I just happen to see a post on Digg.com about Patrick Swayze succumbing to death - I was shocked. Now, I’m even more bewildered because after seeing that post I read others saying the exact opposite. Yes...they are sayng he is alive! This is a travesty of “freedom of the press”; this is complete malice on the part of our beloved and trusted media outlets. They figure and we continue to prove that we, the public, love sensationalism; and that we will give attention to all things eye-provoking.
But I think when it comes to prediction of a person’s death, clearly a line has been crossed; and there is no doubt they have crossed that line. They should be ashamed.

"Dirty Dancing":

We, the public, enjoy Patrick Swayze and the work he has produced, “Dirty Dancing” being his most memorable, where he starred in the role of Johnny Castle. Now, with his fans having to get used to seeing him battle pancreatic cancer, they have to hear inaccurate reporting and rumors of his death. Horrible...just Horrible!! How can any one treat another, esp. one sick with cancer in this manner, the world is, indeed, dark at times.

There is one thing that Patrick Swayze is teaching and showing us as we observe his trials with this disease - Courage - Patrick Swayze is fighting pancreatic cancer with the courage of a superman. He has faced the media with honesty and bravery; he is a great example of the courage that can found in those with life-threatening diseases. I salute and honor you Patrick Swayze, keep up the fight.

Yipee... Yes... Yes...my man, Jason Taylor is back home in Miami Florida where he belongs, it was just alittle too cold up there for him. Jason Taylor need the warm, tropical ambience that all us Miami Dolphins require - we don’t function well in cold climates. He took the trip to the Washington Redskins after a dispute with the Miami Dolphins management. It didn’t go well and he decided to leave the Miami Dolphins franchise. It was horrible...horrible news...dang near cried, it was hard for me during that time....so...so...hard.

Economy Down But We Can Be Up

The economy is down but that shouldn’t be a reason for us to be down. When things are bad we need to use the dire circumstances to strengthen our psychological forces, increase our capacity to make positive change. Now can be a time for personal development and self-improvement. Going around with a frown won’t get us out of the uncomfortable state we are presently in, only a strong resolve to change our nation’s economy will get us to a brighter day. We can all help turn things around, we all can contribute something.

Little things mean alot in times like this - a smile, a hanshake, a kind word - these simple actions can have profound results. Haven’t we all felt a gloomy day turn sunny by the little gesture of an unexpected smile from someone. Yes, I just love when that happens, and I always try to do the same when I’m out about the town, too. The fact is positive actions provoke positive actions, I need not drill you on this fact, we all know it. So, let’s be friendlier...let’s be nicer to each other in these difficult times. Maybe we can quicken this nation’s economic and social upturn by having a more positive and uplifting mental attitude. Let’s try.

Barbra Streisand: The REAL Thing

I want to talk about fake singers, you know, the so-called vocalists and dancers that are always hounding the camera, always seeking attention. They have always been around, they are like worthless by-products from a precious jewel. No...they are not diamonds in the rough(unless you consider a fake diamond real),...uh uh...no, they are like leeches...they try to suck us real recording artists for all that we are. I hate the “biters”, they wouldn’t exist without us - the true singers.

I wrote this post to blast the fake recording artists of the world. I won’t name them, you know who they are. Just think of the “Thriller” himself, Micheal Jackson(Micheal has, by far, the most imitators), or turn on your radio, and I’m sure you will be able to hear one of his many biters or imitators. I have often wondered how he keeps from going nuts with so many people becoming successful singers by pretending to be him. I’ll name his ealiest biter: Donny Osmond. No surprise there, just about every person growing up in the 70s remember Donny Osmond’s rendition of Micheal Jackson. And look at the mormon now - he’s a superstar, and I hear he hates Micheal Jackson. Now, that is ungretfulness. Well...a hater will alway be a hater.

And don’t forget...poor Micheal Jackson isn’t alone - he’s just the prime target. We have numerous others, too, they copy KISS, Madonna, the Temptations, Alice Cooper, James Brown, Whitney Houston, and many more. There is a lot of money in imitation of musical stars - haven’t you seen the fakers cribs, bling and cars on BET and MTV?

As I said, this post was to get my thoughts out on the subject of “biters” out into the open - I really hater these professional imitators - they are a bad part about my industry.

As I’m writing this, I’m watching that great, that wonderful vocalist and recording artist - Miss Barbra Streisand. No faker hear, Barbara Streisand is singing her heart out. This is some show, folks. Fakers, biters - imitate Barbra - I bet you won’t have a good time trying that!! I rest my case.

Finally, the master reappears, he said it, so it must be true - Micheal Jackson will perform 10 concerts this summer in Europe, at London’s O2 Arena. Most of the tickets are already gone, so if you’re going - you better rush and get some tickets. Well, me? Well...I’ve decided to skip this opportunity to see my mentor at his best, but hope to catch his comeback here in the United States. The London O2 Arena will never be the same, baby.

And check this, I hear he has a deal to do a 3D type movie deal based on “Thriller”... Yeah, Thriller in 3D, now that’s something to wait for. I also understand that he may employ the services of exotic animals like panthers, rare birds, and elephants. I also hear that P.E.T.A. ain’t too happy about this. Ah...come on P.E.T.A., give the guy a break...he loves animals...they will be treated like royalty.

Oh, now, there is a down-side to all this, the concerts, video and all the rest - what are all the Micheal Jackson imitators going to do when the real one shows up? You know the so-called singers I’m getting at...they are always around, no matter the decade...trying to and are rich off of Micheal Jackson. They attempt to sing like him...dance like him...look like him....and now they must be alittle upset at his reemergence. I say...let them get what’s coming to them. All-in-all, I wish Micheal Jackson total success in this new endeaver, I feel the master is going to perform at his best. I feel Micheal Jackson is READY!!!

Prince’s New Album, “LOTUSFLOW3R” - Only At Target

I saw the commercial...I couldn’t believe my eyes...I couldn’t believe my ears...Prince is Prince again with this new joint: LOTUSFLOW3R! When I heard that guitar...I knew it was my homie...I was immediately taken by the strong, electrifying plucking and jagging of the guitar strings... Yes...Yes...it was him, the one and only “PRINCE” and he was back, he was back to the Prince I love and know. This Prince sounds like the original, firey rock/funkmaster I partied with years ago. Prince is back to the singer, the musician I raved about because of his earliest albums. Prince is sounding GREAT!!!

His new sounds are only being sold at Target, so if you don’t shop at Target, please reconsider. Reconsider because if my ears got it right - Target has a “heater” on its hand - this album is Prince at his best. “LOTUSFLOW3R” ain’t no joke. Prince seems to have returned to his true musical genius, the music should put him back into royal status...the Target commercial simply blowed me away...simply blew me away. Prince...sounds like you back, man...you sound like you back.

She Loves McDonald's McNuggets, But...

I myself love the taste of those little bread covered chicken gems of delicacy. I just love dipping a McNugget into some of that sweet, delicious barbeque sauce they give you to accompany them. It makes for a meal fit for a king, and a queen, according to news out of Fort Pierce, Florida. Down here we have a young woman looking at law troubles because of her passion for McNuggets. She called 911 to get police help over a McDonald's McNugget dispute. She, Latreasa Goodman, said, “This is an emergency. If I would have known they didn't have McNuggets, I wouldn't have given my money, and now she wants to give me a McDouble, but I don't want one. This is an emergency." McNuggets are a prescription to her, she “needs her McNuggets. Give this woman her McNuggets.... Please!!!

Next time...Miss Latreasa Goodman, try...really try, not to allow those juicy morsels, along with their tangy, delectable sauce, get the best of you and get you into trouble. McDonald's, I’m appalled....how can you serve such addictve substances. McNuggets are just to scrumpous...

I heard it, I damn near fell out but it was true, Rihanna was attacked by loverboy extrordinaire, Mr. Enforcer, Chris Brown. What kind of gentleman is this Chris Brown? What kind of gentle, loving man would beat on a woman? I think Rihanna needs to be talked to...babygurl is playing with fire to be with Chris Brown again. We all want companionship, but Rihanna, baby, a companion that beats you ain't a companion - that is a danger. You got away this time...count your blessings, Chris Brown's got them problems. We Artists Hate Marketing!!!

Being an artist, I really hate marketing sometimes, yes, we creatives have to do it too - we’re businessmen, too. But let me tell ya....sometimes...sometimes I just hate the idea of marketing, it is so time consuming. It definitely takes me out of my artistic mode, makes me feel alittle numb, or should I say, alittle too left-brained? Puts me in a mood similar to an accountant, you know. And that is death to an artist, that is totally alien to our nature....sometimes I just wanna cut off my ear(yeah, in reference to that painter guy).

Well...I just wanted to drop this tidbit on you guys, I been marketing my art and music so much lately I had to talk about it. An artist can get extremely annoyed by business dealings, at least this one can. Well, back to “Artland”, the place I love so much.

The Rev. Al Sharpton is at it once more, the brother is always in the forefront fighting for everyone’s civil rights. Now...yes, he does have his enemies but this brother remains a real fighter out there in this sometimes unjust nation. His detractors are usually biased, one-sided selfish minded individuals...willing to stomp on other’s civil rights. But Rev. Al Sharpton is never faded and takes all this unfair criticism as so much mindless speech...he’s a brave black man, talk doesn’t bother him, he has more important things to accomplish than worry about haters.

Right now, as I write this, the Rev. Al Sharpton is protesting the lavish treatment of that thief and Ponzi scheme genius, Bernard Madoff, questioning how he gets to stay out of prison and the rest of us go straight to jail. Mr. Bernard Madoff is a criminal, and a big one at that...how in this United States? How in this world can such an unjust person be out on the streets like he did nothing wrong? Oh...could it be his tax bracket?...Could it be his complexion? Hummm...hummmm...

Well, whatever, Mr Madoff, Mr. Ponzi scheme...while you lounge in you upscale penthouse - the Rev. Al Sharpton will be marching and demanding an explanation on how you get to do this. Mr. Bernard Madoff, I am sure you will be able to handle this uproar - you have a heart of steel.

America: Bad Economy, Macy’s Down But Let’s Be Strong

Wow...this economy is really...I mean really in a bad, bad shape...and it’s only getting worse. And have you noticed? Gas prices are beginning to once again climb up the charts. Folks, tell me, how much more of this can we take?... Well, me? I just bought a one-way ticket to Mexico and I’m out of here(ha...ha...hah...), okay, I just lied...I’m going to sweat this thing out with the rest of my fellow citizens. But , fa real...America is in a very bad place right about now.

Just today, Macy’s cut thousands, 7,000 in fact, jobs, yes, “America’s Department Store”, that famed dealer in clothes, household goods, and the rest - is slashing jobs. This news is very important because being a well known destination for shoppers, Macy’s troubles give a clear indication of the buying patterns of a large section of American retail shoppers. Being around so many, many years, Macy’s is a favored and trusted retailer, so, their inability to procure sales is certainly big news and a good indication of America’s economic health. Many people will patronize Macy’s even if they fail to buy at other retail establishments.

Even with this sour economy, we can grow...things are horrible but we can use this same weak economy to straighten out our ways; behaviors when dealing with these discomforting issues in our lives. In order to strengthen a muscle in our body, we must engage it in struggle or resistance, this resistance(usually asome type of weight) calls out new force; new energy from that muscle. This new energy, this extra effort infuses the muscle, causing it to develop and become stronger and it increases its ability to accomplish the task it seeks to fulfill(in this case, mental empowerment). Yes...we can become more able; more up to the meeting life’s challenges by strengthening our mental abilties and transmuting our negative circumstances, transforming them into more agreeable events. A bad economy doesn’t have to destroy us and turn us into down-trodden pessimists.

At this time in United States, we are going through a rough phase, we even hear the word “Depression” coming up, but we can allow our lower parts to destroy what light we still have in us. The economy is in abad shape but we can and will survive....this I truly believe. This United States of America is a fighter, we take our hits but remain strong to see another day. We will make it... We will make it!!!

Damon Weaver, Oprah, Biden, Obama And The Inauguration

Damon Weaver, the ten year old, Canal Point Elementary reporter who gained notoriety by getting to interview Senator Joe Biden during an Obama rally in Palm Beach, Florida, here where I live, is at it again. But this time he went on the road....he went to President Obama's Inauguration in Washington, DC.

That interview with Senator Biden was only one of the interview sessions he has accomplished, this mighty tot has now interviewed a quite impressive list of notables. He was able to aquire through donors about $8,000 to make his way to the Inauguration, where he planned or hoped to get an interview with then President-Elect Barack Obama. He did get to the Inauguration but sadly, he didn’t accomplish his goal: an interview with our new President Barack Obama but he has been able to get interviews with the likes of Spike Lee, Samuel Jackson, and even Oprah.

It certainly looks like this pint-sized Barabra Walters is on his way to fortune and fame. I wish him all the best and remember he is from my area, Palm Beach, Florida. He got to make it big(he..hhe..hee..). Damon Weaver, little man, thanks for your courage and positive example, you really made everyone of us Floridians proud. Thank you, Damon Weaver.
