After a big wait, the second installment of Race has eventually hit the screens today all over. Race 2, the sequel to the successful 2008’s Race, is out in theaters. The suspense-thriller with high octane of action by the ace filmmakers Abbas-Mustan brings in some new entrants in the flick like John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Ameesha Patel and Jacqueline Fernandez. From the previous installment, Saif Ali Khan and Bipasha Basu are seen on board.

Tips Music Films and directors’ duo Abbas-Mustan had delivered a superb, well-executed, lavish with international feel and international standard action sequences suspense thriller Race in 2008. The film worked big time at the box office producing magnificent business at ticket window. But this time around, the team has not produced a quality product to allure the viewers who were expecting too much from the sequel.

The sequel ‘Race 2’ was being awaited with gigantic expectations and the viewers were certain for the catchy and attention-grabbing content to watch on screen, but they had to disappoint since the franchise could not be carried forward in apt manner.

Race was filled with high dose of action, adrenaline pumping stunts, eye-catchy locations, characters double crossing each other, attention-fetching story, well-written script, suave characters and well-executed chases. But Race 2 lacks in many things in comparison of its first installment.

Sequels have to outshine the first installments and often we find in Hindi cinema industry that they hardly cross the level of their originals. The same is the case with Race 2 which is not up to the mark of its original.

Race 2 is undoubtedly stylish with international look and feel. The stunts and action are adrenaline rushing but the movie lacks in writing portion that is not watertight. The first half of the film is engaging and super alluring –you hardly can take your eyes off but the second half is what losses the attention and drops the movie’s worth altogether. The first half of the film focuses on revenge whereas the post interval portion talks about the heist.

The film begins with where the first installment (Race) got finished off. Ranveer (Saif Ali Khan) is on way to take revenge of his fiancée Sonia’s (Bipasha Basu) death and for this, he lands into Turkey where he stumbles upon a number of new people (John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez, Deepika Padukone and Ameesha Patel). He also meets those whom he had bumped into earlier like Anil Kapoor.

The first half of Race 2 has all the ingredients to entice the souls such as action sequences, chases, twists, double crossing and characters. The writer and director both do their job skillfully by grabbing the attention of the viewers getting them glued to the screens. The twists and turns are what make you open your eyes with suspense as to what will happen next. The characters look suave and eye-catchy. You hardly find any lackluster moment in the first half of the film. But the second half carries many flaws and majority of them are in writing portion. Sonia and Malik’s back story is missing that surprises you. The Anil Kapoor and Ameesha Patel track looks really forced.

Shiraz Ahmed on writing job disappoints for second half. Abbas-Mustan execute the film brilliantly. They intact the suspense element in abundance right throughout the film. Cinemotogrpahy by Ravi Yadav is eye-pleasing and magical. The international look and feel is placed with high dose that mesmerizes the filmgoers. Kiran Kotrial’s dialogues are wonderful. Editing by Hussain Burmawala is splendid. Visual effects used in the movie are classy. Pritam’s soundtrack is pleasing and the tracks like Party on My Mind and Be Intihaan are catchy.

Saif Ali Khan does full justice with the character. He looks suave and delivers the goods brilliantly. John Abraham is first rate enacting his part with gusto and brilliance. Deepika Padukone looks stylish and appears to be classy actress. Jacqueline Fernandez does fine. Bipasha Basu is hardly there in the film. Anil Kapoor is okay. Ameesha Patel is average. Rest of the cast is just about okay.

Final Verdict:

Race 2 is attention-fetching and brilliant in first half with full dose of glamour, action, stunts and eye-pleasingly magical locales, but disappoints in second half with mundane script.

The issue created between the producer Ramesh Tauarni and Deepika Padukone that turned viral in the media. Nargis Fakhri was also offered a role in the film but she declined the offer due to some unknown reasons.

There are also new social features shown in Microsoft Office 2013 includingautomatic picture importing from services like Facebook and Flickr. Easier sharing also brings along easier collaboration. Users can now hold a multi-person video conference while editing a single document.

PowerPoint 2013

Microsoft kept the ribbon interface (love it or hate it) in PowerPoint 2013, but it is now hidden by default on the Window RT version of Microsoft Office 2013. You can bring up the ribbon with a tap of a button. The ribbon can also be hidden on the desktop version with a simple double click.

Outlook 2013 is receiving a Metro-styled interface as well, but with lots of new functionality too. First of all, Aero Peek, a feature that was first introduced in Windows 7, makes its way into Outlook. With Aero Peek, users can now quickly hover over their Contacts, Calendar, or Tasks and have a fully manipulable pop up display.

One of the more impressive features that was built into Outlook 2013 is its ability to intelligently suggest events and appointments. Outlook will detect when someone wants to create an appointment by looking for locations, time, and specific keywords. This makes adding events to your calendar much easier.

Microsoft finally acknowledged how complicated Excel is for the average user.Excel 2013 is still going to be a powerful tool for data analysis, but Microsoft has made an effort to simplify processes across the application. Users now have access to menus that preform "quick analysis" for their data, simply by selecting an option from a menu. Excel looks at the data and offers the best solution for presenting or organizing it.

The Windows 8 experience starts with the installer, where Microsoft has done an excellent job, judging by our experience on a slate, a desktop clean install, a laptop upgrade from Windows 7, and on a virtual machine. All went smoothly. Be warned though: if you install the Release Preview, you cannot uninstall it, nor upgrade it to the final release.

Choose a colour scheme and you are in, presented with the blocky Windows 8 Start menu, which runs full screen and cannot be reverted to the Windows 7 pop-up style Start menu.

This moment is tough for new users. They click a Metro app and cannot see how to quit it. They find the desktop, but wonder where the Start button is. "I'm not quite sure what's happening," said one victim.

Microsoft knows there is a problem, and has as-yet unspecified plans to assist users. "We will be sharing more about specific steps the company is taking to make sure customers start off on the right foot with their Windows 8 PCs. We have confidence that people will quickly find the new paradigms to be second-nature," a spokesman told the Guardian.

That said, there are only a few basics to learn. On a desktop or laptop, you mouse to the bottom left corner for the Start screen, or the bottom right corner for the Charms bar, a vertical bar which gives access to settings (including those for the current Metro app), Start screen, Search, Sharing and Devices. Mouse to top left brings up a thumbnail preview of running Metro apps. Touch users swipe from the right for Charms, or from the left to switch apps.

Another key point is that within a Metro app, a right-click brings up app menus at top and bottom of the screen. Touch users swipe from top or bottom. Here though, mouse users are disadvantaged, since sometimes a right-click has another meaning. Right-click while editing an appointment in the Calendar, for example, and you get a pop-up menu for paste or selection. Still, there is usually some dead area you can right-click to get what you want.

The new Start menu itself is oversized for most desktop screens. Legacy desktop applications have ugly small icons. Metro apps have Live Tiles, first seen on Windows phone, which populate with data drawn from the app, such as a summary of recent mail, or a photo from your library.

Live Tiles are an interesting concept, but tend not to be aesthetically pleasing since they display random data. They are also distracting, which is a curious contrast to Microsoft's Immersive UI commitment. You can turn off individual live tiles according to preference.

The best way to use the Start Menu, if you have a keyboard, is to start typing. Matching shortcuts appear. Strictly, this is not a feature of the Start menu as such, but a feature of search in Windows 8. You can also display an All apps view, which partially restores the grouping of the old Start menu, but with headings rather than with an expanding tree.

Movie Review

The Final Destination franchise has been around for over a decade, and its fifth edition - Final Destination 5 - debuts today. The original is a horror classic, a unique spin on the typical slasher flick with an invisible, unbeatable villain. The sequels just rehash the same story, albeit with worse actors and shoddier production values.

But after attending a preview screening on Wednesday, I realized that with the other sequels, I'd been missing something: the audience. I watched Final Destination 2, Final Destination 3 and the confusingly titled The Final Destination (so much for "final") on DVD, not wanting to waste my time or money on them in theaters. As I discovered, however, a rowdy, urban crowd is exactly what Final Destination 5 needed.Share o

Final Destination 5 is one of the most comically graphic movies of all time, full of head splattering, spine-ripping, eyeball gouging goodness. The gore is all over the top but exactly what the audience wants and expects, judging by their reaction the other night.

Every time a screw came loose or director Steven Quale even hinted that something was about to happen, the audience would react loudly and verbally, sometimes shouting back at the screen in utter bliss and horror. It was one of the funniest things I've ever witnessed and made the entire Final Destination 5 experience well worth it.

The movie is stupid. The dialogue is cringe-inducing. The acting ranges from adequate (Nicholas D'Agosto and Emma Bell) to downright terrible (Miles Fisher). It has no right to be as fun as it is, but it is.

The audience made the movie a blast, but quasi-rookie director Steven Quale contributed to the effort - as well as what appears to be a bigger budget. The movie's special effects are noticeably better, the death sequences more gripping and gruesome. The bridge disaster sequence is legitimately exciting and massive in scope.

In other words, Final Destination 5 feels like the filmmakers tried, which is a step up from several of the piss-poor sequels.

I won't go so far as to recommend seeing Final Destination 5, but watching the movie with a wild, sold-out crowd really enhances the experience. On its own, the movie is surprisingly entertaining and does what it is meant to do. The 3D is bad, but it did force Quayle to amp up the gore to a new level of absurdity. I can't believe I'm saying this, but... recommended..

Story

Jab Tak Hai Jaan is a love saga which depicts eternity of love and passion of souls entrenched in love. In the year 2002, when a young, charming, not so high-fi musician Samar fell in love with the classy, beautiful Meera, he would have never imagined that his love had to face a dark phase. The story of Samar and Meera's love saga is like that of a flower, that cannot blossom without the sunshine, similarly these two love birds cannot breathe without each other. Samar and Meera's love is strong, passionate and evergreen, yet they had to separate. And, the key question remains, "Why?"

But, when a young, vibrant "super girl" Akira Rai (Anushka Sharma) came into the picture, things changed for better. And, Samar, Meera faced each other again after 10 long years.

Performances

Well, if i need to give a verdict on Shahrukh Khan's performance for both his roles as a tough army officer and a charming musician in the film, it would be a mistake on my side. The reason behind such thought would be because of the man, who have yet again redefined and immortalised the conception of love through his stupendous performance in JTHJ. Yes, it's our BAADSHAH KHAN, who's back with a stroke, no wonder, after watching out Khan in JTHJ, one cannot help but say that Shahrukh is and will be "THE KING OF ROMANCE". Khan deserves a standing ovation for his stellar performance in the film.

And, for those who have always criticised Katrina Kaif's poor acting, Jab Tak Hai Jaan is the answer for you. Kat as a rich, high class business woman is a complete stunner in the film. She does complete justice to her role. She performs an equally power-pack role as that of Khan's.

Finally comes, Ms Akira Rai aka Anushka Sharma, who dreams of having sex with different men of different accents, but no time for love. As believed by Samar in the movie, Akira is one such girl, who had possibly grown up studying 'Kamasutra' and has a great knowledge about all the naughty and dirty things in the world. But, a day comes, when Akira "totally, madly, completely" falls in love with someone. Anushka, as usual, is very colourful and vibrant in the movie, but overacting in parts might disappoint the audience. We feel, Ms Sharma would have toned down a little more to do a fab job onscreen.

Some high points

Though a bit lengthy, Jab Tak Hai Jaan has several high points. A few moments might make you cry, especially, when Katrina met her mother (Neetu Kapoor), who fled away with some other man, whom she loved. That was a turning point in the life of the rich Meera Thapar, who became a complete 'deewani' for a poor Samar. In this world of modernisation and practicality, we hardly listen to our hearts and go completely by minds. But, we never realise the mistake we commit by doing so.

SRK and Katrina's dance in one of London's night club was just 'WOW'. No wonder, the couple seems to have worked day and night to churn out such a wonderful dance item. Shot in exotic foreign locations,JTHJ gives us a beautiful and larger than life picture.

Narration of Kya Super Kool Hain Hum revolves around two friends, Adi (Played by Tusshar Kapoor) and Sid (played by Riteish Deshmukh). Adi is an aspiring actor who appears in tacky ads, while Sid is a DJ, who never gets the right opportunities.

As the story proceeds, an astrologer tells Adi, that his fortunes will turn when he meets the love of his life whose name will have S as its initial. Shortly after it Adi has a rendezvous with Simran (Neha Sharma) and that's where the cupid struck.

After meeting Simran, Adi falls head over heels in love with her. On the other hand, Sid has an encounter with his ladylove Anu (Sarah Jane Dias) at a fashion show, where Anu suffers a wardrobe malfunction as she gets distracted by erring music.

The story takes tricky twist, when Sid comes to know that Adi has given Simran the diamond that was for Suckru, the much loved pug of Sid. So in order to bring that diamond back the duo decide to follow Simran to Goa.

With frames rolling ahead, steps in a cine fanatic billionaire, Marlo (played by Anupam Kher) who is hoodwinked by a Baba named 3G (played by Chunky Pandey), and adds on tremendously to the already soaring humor quotient of the movie.

Script:

The script of Kya Super Kool Hai Hum looked more of a pick and fix tale, where the entire script appears to be a bunch of goofs and spoofs inspired from the films. In addition to the spoofs even the original parts of the script looks quite resembling to some of the earlier releases, where an astrologer predicts that male protagonist's fortunes will turn when he meets the love of his life - whose name will begin with S.

Though the movie offers a good amount of laughter to cine goers, but as far as the plot of the movies is concerned then it is simply disappointing with nothing seems to tied up well to maintain the smooth flow of narration.

In nutshell, the script of Kya Super Kool Hain Hum is just like a boat without oars, but still destined make it to the shores because of the flowing water and in this case, it's adult comedy which escorts this erratic boat.

Dialogues:

Quite in accordance with the quality of the script, dialogues seems to be inspired from widely heard and read SMS jokes, especially the adult ones. Inspite of having nothing innovative or novel, these SMS-dialogues succeed in keeping the hilarity alive may be because they are mouthed openly on the celluloid.

Majority of the dialogues lead to a spontaneous laughter but there is a handful of such dialogues or one liners also, which simply struggle to make the masses giggle. The spice that seemed to be governing even the dialogues and humor of the movie is its high sexual innuendoes quotient, which is a treat for all those who don't mind exploring the restricted side of humor.

Screenplay and Direction:

If it's about rating the the screen play and direction of the movie, then director Sachin Yardi has given an average performance and it's called an average performance because of constantly oscillating screenplay. Through out the course of movie Yardi has failed in maintaining the momentum of the movie.

First half of the movie takes off at a decent pace but due to weak script it constantly appears to be lacking the smooth link-up. But thanks to double entendre, which successfully manages to keep the cine buffs attention fixed to the celluloid.

As far as second half is concerned then it looks quite lame after that over dose of adult comedy punches in the first half. In the second half those gawky dialogues appears to be loosing their wittiness.

Performances:

After being part of comedy flicks like Hey Baby, Double Dhamaal and Houseful-2, Ritesh seems to mastered the art of tickling the ribs of the cine goers. Even in Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum, Ritesh has proved his dexterity in making the masses cackle.

Ritesh very well carried the role of a jobless DJ, who is a proud owner of a pug who is the only source of income for him. In addition to his comic timing, Ritesh's facial expressions also work as an added enticement to prove his expertise in the comedy genre.

After delivering some impeccable performances as a deaf and mute character in Golmaal series, Tusshar has once again succeeded in impressing the fans by his comic timing in, Kya Super Kool Hain Hum. In the movie, Tusshar very well portrayed the role of a struggling actor who does some weird ads to make the both ends meet.

As far as the performance of female protagonists Sarah Jane Dias and Neha Sharma are concerned, then the gorgeous duo doesn't add much to the film apart from adding some glamorous sequences, where they are seen flaunting their toned bodies and pretty faces.

Anupam Kher as a cine fanatic billionaire succeeds in bringing some giggles, where as Chunky Pandey's comic performance as Baba 3-G looks brainless and over-the-top.

Music and Lyrics:

Inspite of having lyrics ranking high on gaucherie metronome, the music of Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum seems to be energetic and goes well with the plot and the spirit of the movie.

'Dil Garden Garden', and 'UP Bihar Lootne' are wonderful foot thumping treats which vitalise the youthful zest, where as 'Shirt Da Button' again with some naughty lyrics, but brilliant music is a soothing carol. In the cinematography department Ravi Walia deserves to patted for making things quite vibrant.

BO Potential:

With some very heavy adult comedy punches, this weekend Kya Super Kool Hain Hum is expected to go rave among cine goers especially the teenagers. But as far as the emerging as a bumper hit or BO Knight is concerned, then the movie thoroughly lacks in those fronts, which are required to make a memorable movie.

Since the movie is bouquet of naughty flavours, hence it is expected to pull a major chunk of young population, who loves this kind of comedy.

Verdict :

To sum up, Kya Super Kool Hai Hum promises an over the top double dose of humor. With tons of adult humour, sexual innuendo, and expletive one-liners, Kya Super Kool Hain Hum is a witty majestic double entendre bonanza offering tons of sexual tone, adult jokes, impish humor. In nut shell it is a roller coaster ride from beginning till end, which will surely be loved by the youngsters.
