The computers we use everyday are very different from computers we used ten years a ago. The software in computers today is new and improved to better serve us in our personal life and work life. Even in schools we have a computer lab and two to four computers in our classroom. Computers are being used by teachers and administrators in meetings, classroom, and even special events at the school. Using PowerPoint, videos, and computers games in the classroom is very popular among students in today's classrooms.

In article "Elementary In- Service Teacher's us Computers in the Elementary", in 1998, Halpin stated that the effective us of technology in the K-12 classroom has become the "focal emphasis" of schools"(p.1). The above statement is so true because students now have computers in the classroom that they can use for educational games, writing assignments and to surf the web to learn new information. Students in the classroom are very excited about using the computer. Also stated in the article, " Brennan(1991) stated that comprehensive training and staff development increase integrating computer aided instruction(CAI) and student exposure to CAI in the classroom"(p.1). I agree with this statement because while in college all the professors pushed for us to use technology in our lessons.

Why does not want to watch a video and learn new information? YouTube and streaming discovery education are two really big video sites where you can watch all types of videos. As stated in Brenda's Blog, "YouTube videos in the hope of finding a clip that could play an important role in your students learning process?"(p.1). Teachers can download videos on topics of all sorts from ABC sounds, parts of an animal, counting, science experiments, and other educational topics.http://www.educationworld.com/a_tech/columnists/dyck/dyck016.shtml

PowerPoint presentations are great to use in the classroom no matter what theme you are discussing. "Use PowerPoint presentations to enhance the effectiveness of classroom instruction in many ways in every subject area"(p.2). PowerPoint slide shows are very important to tell or show new information to students. Administrators and trainers also use PowerPoint at meetings to present information to staff.

Technology is changing everyday no matter how we look at it we have to keep up with the world we are living in. Using technology in classrooms today are great ways to learn new information. Even though, using technology maybe tough sometimes in the long run we can all benefit from technology.
