A recent webinar from Don Legere gave me the subject of this post. Don is the husband of Janet Legere who owns Contact List Builder and a very successful networker in his own right, going back to before he knew Janet.

He told us about a former boss he had at an insurance company. That guy was really successful at getting good sales and everyone asked how he did it. He didn't think about what he wanted to earn or even his personal or departmental sales target for the month. He just thought about getting ONE new sign up and what that entailed and how he took them from prospect to customer.

He had painstakingly refined his technique so that when he was talking to a new prospect and in his follow-up stages so that that person felt like they were the ONLY one that he was concentrating on, not just one of many that went to make up a sales target that their money was a part of. The better he got at it, the more one-at-a-times he could fit in a day, so in the end, he was hitting his monthly targets by the end of the first week.

This led to me considering what it was that brought me into CLB and why I am sticking to it like I have never stuck to anything before. It isn't just that CLB has all the elements I am looking for to create a sales funnel for my primary business BodyByVi, it's the way that Janet runs it.

She has been revising the step-by-step process by which you build and customize CLB and she has made that process into a collaboration by involving us all via Skype groups which have refined the steps, eradicated little errors and created a much improved product.

Maybe you looked at CLB before and thought it looked too complicated. OK, you can't expect to set it all up in 10 minutes. It isn't all 'done for you', and is a better product for that. You have to do the spade work ONE step at a time. The fantastic thing is that those steps are so well described now, with diagrams and graphics, so most people can get through without a hitch. Those that can't know they can come to the Skype groups and get answers. It's going to take you a week or more to sort it all out but oh boy will you have a solid base when it's all up together.

The whole point here is the one at a time approach, the same as when you are talking to that new prospect. Make them feel that they are top priority just like Janet does with us. If you are writing autoresponder follow up letters, emphasize a step by step approach for your business and on a personal level, ensure all your customers understand it.

It isn't intended that we sit down with our credit card and join everything in one day including shelling out for all the upgrades. No, we do one step at a time, make sure it works, get other people to test it etc before going to the next. In fact you can get by with paying for little more than your autoresponder which is great for the dirt poor new marketer.

Whatever program you are in, and whatever you are trying to build a list for, this approach will work and your customers are more likely to stay with you because they can see the value in your system or product because of YOUR single minded enthusiasm. CLB does not replace what you promote now, it builds a funnel around it, so that your CLB team become your biggest fans and are happy to go look at your primary product by the time the CLB system puts it in front of them - yes, it is right there, embedded in the system. You make money from the components of CLB itself as well as your own product.

What you have to do now (apart from considering joining Contact List Builder of course) is to think about the process of bringing just one person into your business. How you first get in contact - IBO Toolbox is a great help here, what you say to them to enthuse them about what you have to offer, and so on. Don't rush your fences, take time to make a friend first, and remember ONE AT A TIME.

Mathematical Money

Bitcoin is one of a group of digital currencies that has been making some headlines recently and is being closely examined by the conventional financial world.

One thought expressed is that this could seriously de-stabilize conventional currencies and another is that it should be banned simply because it is anonymous and therefore ideal for money laundering. I think probably neither will prove to be true because it is too unstable and not tied to any conventional currency in the same way that Paypal or Payza is for example.

In the same way, the money launderers won't be crazy about a currency that can halve its value relative to the dollar overnight. I have to say I don't totally understand exactly what DOES drive the Bitcoin value relative to any real world currency.

Nor, at the moment do I understand the mathematics that drives Bitcoin production. Yes, you can actually manufacture Bitcoins by this complex mathematical procedure and you don't HAVE to understand how it happens.

There is plenty of info around about getting started with Bitcoin, you can Google for it. There are also places you can make Bitcoins in the same way as you do ordinary money - clicking ads, watching videos and so on. It's a lot of effort for tiny rewards but if you want to do it, it's up to you. Here's a place to get started - Bitcoinget or BitVisitor to find places to earn Bitcoins.

I first wrote this post earlier in the year and have edited and re-issued in view of the fact that Bitcoin has become better known and has experienced a massive rise in value. It may be a bubble, maybe not. Online merchants like Gyft (US based) are now accepting Bitcoin and the first Bitcoin ATM has opened in Vancouver. If Bitcoin continues to rise in value, your clicks for fractions of Bitcoins today may turn out to be worth very much more in months and years to come. On the other hand it may be worth zilch.

The market is very volatile right now and there's no telling which way it's going to go. In May this year one Bitcoin was worth about $350, in the last few days preceding this post it has been over $1000.

One thing that all the Bitcoin documentation tells you to do is to back up your wallet or wallets to your PC because hacking is a risk and also keep an offline note of your IDs and passwords because they are not retrievable.

Useful sites to visit are Blockchain and MtGox where you can get a Bitcoin address and somewhere to store the Bitcoins you will be earning plus a means of storing that value on your PC or cloud drive. Even better is Coinbase where you will earn for referring new members who use the site to transfer at least 1 Bitcoin. Coinbase will allow you to create new Bitcoin addresses.

Doctors need training, engineers need training, soldiers need training, they all need training to do their jobs efficiently and well, so why do internet marketers think they are different?

Why do they believe that they can sign up in a program and be millionaires next week. Of course the purveyors of the get-rich-quick kind of programs have to take some responsibility but marketers DO need training and I have found the ideal place to get it.

For several weeks now, I've been meaning to check out how the Contact List Builder and Traffic leads to Income programs fit together and work, but I never got around to it till about a week ago.

Now that I have, I really regret the time that I wasted! The whole system is just brilliant. It has been put together by top marketers Janet Legere and Rob Gehring.

The product at the end is leads and traffic to all your websites - and as Janet says, we all know that traffic does lead to income.

What you have is two linked suites of business programs that can be set up and used independently as can all of their components, but the real secret is in setting the whole lot up to work together and using all the training available to learn how to make them into a real business powerhouse for you.

Don't think of this as your 'main business' although with the commissions available it may well become exactly that.

Take me for example. I would regard the weight loss product program BodyByVi as my 'main' business and within the Contact List Builder suite there is a downline builder where I can promote it to anyone who joins CLB with me.

The component programs may well be things you are already in, but don't worry, you won't have to change sponsors and re-join, you can use your existing membership and affiliate codes here. You will find affiliate toolbox programs, mailers and traffic exchanges amongst others, everything you need to start promoting a successful online business.

The recommended start point is from Contact List Builder. Some of the components are free - in fact most are within the two main programs, the only real exception being GVO which is used for the autoresponder and web hosting. However, if you already have another a/r or hosting account, don't worry because it isn't mandatory. For anything you don't join, the affiliate code for that component, when people join with YOU, will be your sponsor's.

The downline builders allow you to work at your own pace so you don't get overwhelmed by information about all the different components. Best not to join all of them in one day - if you get lost, refer back to the CLB steps or get in the Skype group and ask questions - that's what it is there for!

When I did put my mind to it, I got the whole suite set up in a couple of hours. The only minor problems I experienced was in getting the GVO web hosting set up as I was using a domain name I had registered elsewhere. You can do it from within GVO and they do have great special offers, but here are some alternatives. Get free domain names here. Get domain names AND great hosting here (especially if you want a .co.uk domain).

If you are joining and get stuck with the web set up, contact me and I'll help or even do the whole thing for you (including setting up a ready to use Wordpress blog) for a small cost. I already mentioned training, but I want to emphasize this aspect. Via videos, webinars, a Skype group and lots of documentation on both Contact List Builder and Traffic Leads to Income, you'll find everything is explained and you will get regular opportunities to talk to the program owners directly as well as other users.

I am still finding new information and education on both sites, but the most useful thing to date is a done for you daily action list to keep every part of your new business up and running smoothly and producing new leads and prospects all along the line.

Cash when you share videos with your friends

One of my friends has a long mailing list of other friends who like jokes. Some of them are pretty smutty and sexist, but occasionally he sends out something really funny.

I also send him jokes to pass on. A few days ago, I sent him a video link. The link was for a Heineken ad, that was apparently banned, probably for being sexist but it did make me smile. Clearly my friend's friends are also passing it on, because my tracking shows that the link is still being watched many times each day.

The great thing is that every one of those views and shares is making me money. I created the link on a site called UvioO which pays me to share video links. I post on Facebook, in Twitter and on other social networks and of course I email links to friends.

You can make more money on UvioO by paying for checkpoints and map positions, but I'm unsure about this at the moment. I am doing some research and looking for someone who has actually been paid. The idea is that you gain more than you pay out for checkpoints and maps.

UvioO accepts cards and Payza inwards and checks, Payza and SolidTrustPay to pay you. I'm not sure why they won't accept STP inwards, and I may wait till this happens, or Payza finally starts accepting business from the UK again which isn't looking like it is going to be any time soon.

There is a Pro option which gives you additional money for your activities. I'm not looking at this one as a possible major source of online income, just a small trickle and I'll see where it goes.

How to grow an income with Pay to Click sites

Pay to Click sites typically involve visiting a number of ad sites each day for which you get paid extremely small amounts of money. If you can refer others, then it is possible to increase your earnings by a considerable amount because you also get a share of the earnings from their clicks.

Some, but not all sites allow you to rent referrals. There is, of course a risk that you will rent someone who is not active and the sites can't guarantee that any member you rent will be active. For a sum smaller than the original rental fee, you are usually allowed to exchange your inactive member for another one.

There are some sites which you will see advertised a lot, but are not necessarily reliable. Neobux for example has had bad ratings in the past for being slow to pay and for slashing the payouts to free members after they have already done the clicks and earned the money. That's what happened to me in the past. They may have improved, but I am not wasting my time going back to find out.

Other sites have a very high reliability rating and have a fair number of ads to click every day, whether or not you are upgraded. Clixsense is one of these. In addition to the straight ad clicks, you will find the 'Clixgrid' where you can find cash prizes under some of the squares and also surveys and offers. On the plus side, the Clixsenseupgrade is only $17 for a full year, on the downside, they don't rent referrals.

Wordlinx is also worth a look although they don't have a lot of ads every day. I have also joined Clixten who seem to have a good number of ads per day, and you can also earn by watching short videos.

My top recommendation for the moment is Nerdbux. If you are a member of the Sweeva traffic exchange, ClickTrackProfit or Trck.me, you will already know that their admin is reliable and trustworthy and Nerdbux is another site from the same team.

There are loads of ads every day - up to 60 or even more, they rent referrals at competitive rates and there are other options for earning money. Offers, the Nerdgrid (like CLixgrid) and micro jobs.

Now you may think that clicking a load of ads every day for a tiny return is not worthwhile. This is the strategy I recommend you use for Nerdbux. Rent referrals as soon as you can from your earnings and you will find that your income snowballs very quickly. You can rent one at a time. Don't put a big sum in to rent referrals as you will spend all your time recycling the inactive ones and waste your income.

Grow your referral team one or two at a time and recycle the bad ones as you find them. You will make better use of your time and money that way and you will grow a team that is 100% reliable in clicking for you most days. Of course people have holidays and sickness so if they don't click for a few days, give them a chance to come back. In time, you will not have to click all 60 or so ads every day unless you want to, just a dozen or so to keep your referral clicks and make a little extra.

There are people who claim that they can live on the profits of Pay-to-Click and of course they want to tell you how, in a report they will charge a load of cash for. Don't bother with it because you'll get basically the same information I am giving you here.

I have talked about only the PTC sites where I have personal experience, I cannot speak for, or recommend others, you will have to try for yourself.

While you may not make a full time income, you could get to a position where your PTC earnings can pay for your upgrade/monthly subscription to something more profitable/useful like your autoresponder for example or your web hosting and I think that is the real secret of using PTC to your advantage.

Gosh is it really so long since I last blogged? Incredible! What have I been doing all that time?

Well regrettably being ill for a lot of it. Since Christmas I have been seized with really crippling depression and it doesn't look like letting up yet. The one thing that has helped and saved me is writing, but not for my blog. I've added a list of Squidoo lenses to my portfolio and they are doing really well.

I have also been learning techniques to write better lenses and to promote them better.

In terms of online businesses, I have two that are ticking along nicely and those are Banners Broker and ProfitClicking.

The main source of my depression is linked to my divorce and the realization that some time in the future I am going to have to move. In some ways the house is my sanctuary. I have fought so hard to keep it through several repossession attempts but my ex is now trying a different legal route to get me out. He may ultimately succeed but may also have to accept less than he currently thinks he can get. He's up to some kind of trickery as the address he has given the court does not match the address that the mortgage company accidentally let slip a few months ago. He should well know the threefold law that brings you bad karma for doing bad things to someone else.

On the plus side, I have some great friends who have been keeping me strong and I thank them here.

Like most people in the UK, I buy National Lottery tickets fairly regularly and think I am lucky when I win.

Over time there have been attempts to start up alternative lottery games in the UK and also some tries at using the official UK Lottery as the basis of an affiliate business. The last of these was ruled illegal a couple of years ago and closed down leaving a lot of people out of pocket.

I was amazed to read this week that up to 70% of PC users NEVER back up their hard drive, so finding a low cost service for this essential procedure was good news.

Even better was finding out that I can start out as a re-seller at no more than the cost of my own backup service and upgrade to a qualified affiliate later on, and maybe even qualify for manager bonuses if I build a big team.

So often, home based businesses start out with impossibly large start-up subscriptions and upfront payments so it was great to get the news that this one just requires a couple of referrals to break even and you are on the way!

I digress a little

Last night I listened to a radio programme on BBC Radio4 called 'What is the point of universities'. A number of young people were included, all but one of whom said they didn't care about the debt they would get into, they wanted to go to university. I really felt that their reasons were suspect and that they did not really have a clear long term view of the type of job they would be looking for when they finished or of the personal qualities they would need over and above actual qualifications.

The programme mentioned some of the courses offered by universities that were very narrowly focussed on one particular career path. A friend's daughter took this kind of course a few years ago. She didn't get particularly good results, and IMO probably shouldn't have gone to uni at all. She would have been better served by some kind of apprenticeship path or what used to be called a 'sandwich' course where work experience was an integral part of the qualification. Those courses seem to have completely disappeared whereas 30 or 40 years ago they were commonplace. She wasn't able to get a job in the very particular field she originally chose and I now hear she has gone back to uni to do a second degree in another more 'saleable' subject.

But, what really disappointed me was the total lack of entrepreneurial spirit displayed. Many people will have watched 'The Apprentice'. I think this programme now has a US equivalent, and what it aims to do is to put young people into real business situations and see how they stack up. I often find myself cringing at the lack of knowledge of how the world works they display and I know I wasn't like that in my early 20's.

The prospective university students and new graduates on last night's programme did not seem to be thinking about how they might start to pay off their student debt even before they left uni. Network marketing is an ideal way of earning some income as a student, over and above state help with fees and the 'bank of Mum and Dad'. Not only is there a vast choice of companies and products to suit every kind of person, but students have a ready made warm market - and one with an annual renewal system!

The attitude to network marketing seems to be markedly different in the UK compared to the USA. Across the pond, it seems pretty normal for people of all ages to consider this route to extra income. Here it is regarded with totally unnecessary suspicion and hostility. Most people don't even understand the difference between an illegal pyramid selling or Ponzi scheme and a perfectly legitimate affiliate or network business and they don't seem to WANT to try something other than being employed by someone else.

Of course I am trying to change attitudes, hearts and minds towards being in business for yourself, but last night's programme gave me more reason for despair than help. Maybe schools have to change the way that they teach subjects like science and even maths right from primary school level and use far more real-world examples in the problems they set students. And when it comes to career advice, it really is time to hold up people like Richard Branson and Alan Sugar not just as shining examples of success, but also as examples of people who were driven from an early age by the idea of working for themselves rather than lining someone else's pockets as an employee.

I am trying out a new way of finding customers for my networking businesses - I am writing to people who are advertising that they are looking for jobs on websites like Gumtree, trying to raise their consciousness about the possibilities of self-employment. I'm not having much success yet, but I will carry on. There must be some people out there with enough gumption to do something other than paying a weekly visit to the Job Centre and waiting for their next state benefit to arrive.

Trollz - don't ya hate them?

Following a number of accusatory and libellous attempted comments on this blog, I have regretfully decided to restrict comments on this blog to Google account holders and of course they will still be moderated before they appear.
Why anyone would think that they could get away with posting such trash I cannot think. I have my suspicions who they are. One of the TE's I use regularly is Sweeva which has a chat system that is tied in with whoever's site is on display. I know I am less than popular with certain Sweeva users because I don't wuss around if I can see something is clearly a scam or I have a fair and objective criticism of site content or graphics. That is the whole point of the site.

However, some trolls over there are too fond of using the block user facility to prevent legitimate comment on the rubbish and offensive material they choose to display. They are top of the list of suspected spammers here, but we'll see. They won't bother to comment if they know their identity will be revealed.

Bullies are cowards at heart - always and inevitably. You know who you are.

Success of the week is Leadskimmer. The ads I have run for this have produced at least one sign up per day this week, sometimes more. For newcomers to network marketing, it is undoubtedly a useful tool to build a list. Everything else ticking over nicely.

This week has been 100% about building my list for everything I promote and stepping up my advertising a notch to bring new people into my 'warm market'.

The other useful tool I picked up on recommendation from my Zeek sponsor is called Leadskimmer which I will be testing over the next week and seeing what difference I can make with it.

Currently Leadskimmer is supposed to work best if you have MMPro, Aweber or GetResponse autoresponders. I have GVO because it links up with another offer I am running and I rather resent being forced into having to sign up with another one. Leadskimmer is very vague about what happens to any leads you generate if you don't have one of their favoured autoresponders. There is reference to them going into a csv format list which is fine, but it isn't clear about where I find them in my back office.

I'm going to run some LS ads in Traffic Exchanges and other places in the next week, and see where the names turn up. You have to generate at least 4 leads anyway before you see any results at all because the first 3 are passed up to your sponsor.

Online biz world rocked by EgoPay

Online businesses worldwide have been in considerable confusion about the opening of a new online payment processor EgoPay.

The reason for the confusion is that there were claims on some websites that EgoPay was a subsidiary or otherwise linked with industry leader Payza (formerly Alertpay). There was good reason to think this might be true since the need for a new processor was sparked off by Payza announcing that it was withdrawing its services for what it termed 'high risk organizations'. This move in itself is alleged to be caused by financial regulators in the U.S. clamping down on Payza amidst fears that it was a vehicle for money laundering and possible terrorist funding. Certainly, some of the organizations known to be using Payza have some 'unfortunate' strong associations with countries where terrorist activity is rife even though Payza itself may not operate in those countries.

As a member of JustBeenPaid, a controversial organization in itself, the transition from Payza to EgoPay has caused massive confusion and consternation and staff have not responded with the speed, nor in the manner that customers might have expected. There are staff shortages at JBP which are being addressed. A rather optimistic statement appears on the JBP site today that all delays associated with EgoPay have been sorted out, but my withdrawal to EgoPay has already been outstanding for a week and is currently 'blocked' while 'additional anti-fraud procedures' take place. I tried in two separate sessions in web conferences yesterday to get a conclusive answer to what these procedures are and staff and moderators were, I felt, deliberately evasive, pretending they had answered the question merely by re-reading what I asked. Another block is in place refusing to answer support tickets concerning EgoPay which is extremely frustrating along with an email yesterday saying that I would have to wait at least another 48 hours.

Midweek, a statement appeared on EgoPay that it had no association with Payza whatsoever. Curiously that statement has gone this morning. It seems that the two WILL work closely because Payza will continue to be the route of choice for users to fund and withdraw via Egopay where Payza will be the final link to the user's cards and bank accounts. Few have yet completed such transactions so there are no reliable stats for the efficiency of the procedure. I have anecdotal evidence that transactions between the two are trouble free and will update here if I hear different.

EgoPay itself is located in Belize which has not been the most stable environment in the past and is noticeably lacking in financial regulation. It remains to be seen how this will affect reliability and honesty in its dealings.

Those of us who inhabit the world of online business will have to wait and see but one thing is clear, it is going to be hard to survive WITHOUT opening an EgoPay account sometime soon.

POSTSCRIPT
JBP payment finally came through after 1 week to EgoPay and I transferred to Payza this morning with no difficulty. The timeframe given on the site is 1 business day, so as today is Saturday 28th, it may not go through till Monday. I can live with that!

Post-postscript - as I thought, cash arrived in Payza today Monday 30th. All I would really compain about is the JBP timings and the fact that the fees to withdraw to EgoPay are twice what they are for STP which JBP clearly favour but have had site downtime issues recently. For the time being, I am giving EgoPay a thumbs up.

From what is turning up in my email since the start of the year, it is looking like the new 'Big Thing' for 2011 is going to be discount and cashback schemes with affiliate marketing opportunities included.

Cashbackcard which was very successful in 'soft launch' last year is in the throes of its full launch. You can visit the site and see what it's all about, and you can sign up at no immediate cost and shop online right now. Commission plan for Independent Promoters is extremely good.

The other moneysaving sites I have found work broadly in the same way. They negotiate deals with companies and recommend them to you. You get a voucher code for a retail website or printable voucher from the site to take with you when you shop (or eat, or visit) - you get your money off and hopefuly the business gets extra trade. Sometimes the offers are more local, and there is an opportunity here for small businesses to get involved.

You can make money by recommending the discount website or specific offers to your friends. If they sign up or participate in the offer too, you benefit.

Groupon is in several countries already and I'm a definite fan Get a daily email to tell you about offers where you live. Recommend offers to your friends for extra money. The deals really are moneysavers if they happen to be what you want when you want it. There are nationally available deals too, don't miss those. An example of a deal in my area this week was a 2 course lunch in a brand new and classy Indian restaurant. The one I snapped up was thirty pounds worth of Body Shop goodies for just twelve quid.

My next find in this category was Quidco - available in the UK only and looking very good with a free-to-join affiliate membership. They have agreed deals with a number of national and internationally known retail chains and websites. Do read the small print and understand what you are getting and any time limits.

Just this week I have joined BeRuby which is also active in several countries and works in a similar way to Quidco in that it gives you coupons or coupon codes, but lots more - how about getting paid to visit your favourite websites? Yes, really, I can earn when I visit the BBC website or check my Googlemail, even when I want to browse ebay!

Finally, and most importantly there is The Customer Advantage. If you are in the USA, you will be the first to benefit from discounts and cashback deals with roll-out worldwide some time in the future. It is in pre-launch now and free to join, so get in at the head of the queue and get recruiting. You DON'T have to be in the USA to join and benefit from the deals accepted by people in your team. This is a very professional looking site, the explanatory videos and back office area are excellent and I would advise joining immediately regardless of where in the world you are.

Take it from me - these are real sites with real offers that ordinary people and families can benefit from - we are not just talking about big purchases here, everyday shopping is included on some sites. While Cashbackcard was in soft launch for example, I was getting cashback when I shopped in Sainsburys - no problem - and getting my Nectar points too - double bubble!

I have been enjoying a rush of new GDI signups in recent days with a couple of team building sites I joined.

There are a lot of websites around that claim to help you build an income with GDI but many of them have a basic problem that could get them into serious trouble with GDI if they aren't careful. The reason for this is simple. The ones I joined are both happy to take me on and put my existing GDI username into the 'back office' for my site to be advertised in rotation.

However, other teams require you to do one of two things.

Either you have a spouse or partner that can sign up into the team build GDI downline or they try to get you to delete your GDI account and join again with them. The problem is, that the second is strictly against the GDI Affiliate terms that you sign when you join.The teambuilders may not tell you about the requirement to be in their downline, in the advertising, it's only when you contact their admin and ask about it, that you find out.

Yesterday, I was re-reading those GDI terms and discovered something else interesting. GDI require you to advertise that you are selling a web hosting service. One ad I saw was explicitly dismissive and rude about the domain and hosting service and said it is just income and it doesn't matter what it is for because you aren't going to use it are you.

When someone signs up in GDI with me, I contact them personally and suggest options for how to use their domain name and hosting space.

To keep within the GDI TOS there should be no inducement whatever from anyone to abandon your current sponsor in any part of the advertising or any material they send you. If you do delete your account and re-join and GDI find out, you stand to lose your new account and your entire downline so watch out.

When I pointed this out to one of them in the traffic exchange Sweeva, the response I got was to say the least aggressive and abusive. I appealed to the admin of Sweeva, who were quite concerned, and I was told that he got a warning. I have heard since that he's done the same to other people on Sweeva and have heard bad things about that specific team build. Still, I am not mentioning them here. I don't need more nastiness - just watch out for some extremely aggressive and boastful language in the advertising and you will have found them. I have also heard that some people have left them because of the overbearing and bossy way they behave when you join them.

Enough about that. Let's take a look at the GOOD guys!

MyEzybiz has just fully launched. They are not solely a GDI team build and have some other very lucrative and interesting income streams. I got in within a few days of their pre-launch and built a handsome 45-person downline. A couple of those have joined GDI with me, others have joined the other income streams. There is a spillover feature in their team structure which I like.

Income Community works with GDI and with TrafficWave, a high quality and well-respected auto responder. When I first discovered them a week or two back, they too were insisting that you join both opportunities with them. I suggested very politely to their admin. that it would be good business to find a way for existing members to join them and to my surprise they agreed. Now, you can go in as a member of one and join the other with them - result!

It is Income Community who have brought me the two most recent signups in GDI this week so that is very good progress towards the 10 for each business in 60 days that their advertising promises. IC give you a link to promote and their site does the rotational advertising in the background. Brilliant and clearly very effective.

If you are one of my regular followers or an occasional visitor, don't be surprised if the blog looks different every time you visit for a while. Aliens have not taken over. Blogger has introduced a new template customizer and I am experimenting with all the myriad new looks to choose from.

Now, back to business. Still looking for and finding nice little earners. Now here's a suggestion for you. Pick a couple of them, maybe MyLikes (if you have at least 50 Twitter followers) and Readbud. Watch your earnings rack up, maybe wait for a payday. Then instead of frittering your money away on treats, use them to go into a paid program. I'm suggesting GDI because it is relatively cheap and reliable. You could equally choose VWD (e-lottery) if it is legal where you are, or Sendoutcards or whatever other paid program you happen to be promoting.

Your aim should be to get your prospects into a solid business with a REAL product or service, of value to them personally, that they will stay in for the forseeable future, not a fly-by-night matrix or cycler.

GDI gives you web hosting and a domain name, VWD gives you UK/Euro/Spanish lottery entries, Sendoutcards gives you a great way to send real greeting cards from your PC without the hassle of printing and mailing them yourself. These are tangible and understandable products and services.

For some reason totally beyond me, a number of networkers seem to hate GDI - why? They provide perfectly good web hosting, and the rates aren't excessive. They now feature a much improved website builder which is great for anyone without the skill to DIY.

I hadn't really bothered to promote GDI for a while until I noticed that my downline had reduced. Naughty me. I should have monitored that and contacted them when they abandoned ship to ask why. Anyway I have set about regaining the income from that source. In the process I noticed that GDI have dropped their payout threshold and I had some uncollected cash which will be on its way to me very shortly.

Looking around for ways to promote I found two candidates. One is MyEzybiz. Now since this is in pre-launch, it's hard to quantify how well it is going to work! The basic offering will be co-op advertising. It's free to enter right now, so you may as well get in there. The downline structure has a spillover feature, so you will gain from my recruiting efforts as well as your own.

The second candidate is Bear Marketing. Like MyEzybiz it works for people already in GDI as well as those new to the program. It also promotes the popular Peoplestring and again, if you are a member already, you just enter your ID for your sponsors to pick up and come in underneath you.

And now another little earner, so far untried. I can't quite work out what IncomeWeb are up to. They want you to post a scripted banner code in your site, so presumably the banner could show multiple ads. I'll give it a try and see what happens. Please let me know if you see anything objectionable being advertised and I will zap it! Banner follows.

Sweeving to success

Continuing from my last post when I talked about a number of 'little earners', it's all been going hunky-dory. MyLikes - the Twitter advertising moneymaker, is proving very popular, and people are signing up every day as well as clicking on my ads, but that has a lot to do with some new methods of promotion.

Swom is certainly one of them. Everytime I check my SWOM dashboard, there are people who want to connect with ME and I have made it a habit to choose a couple of their contacts to request connections with. From those connections have come some signups and also some budding friendships and business relationships.

One of those is with a guy called Mark Gartrip. Mark has written a book which kind of follows on from the ideas I had already latched onto in 'The Secret', but it develops the ideas into something far more self-empowering. Mark is keen to get the book into an ebook format, something I know a little about and to find new ways to market it. For the moment you can buy 'How to Fix your life' in hard copy format - highly recommended reading, and you can test drive the first two chapters here on Mark's blog.

The advertising star of the last week has most DEFINITELY been Sweeva. This is not the ubiquitous traffic exchange, but a very new and exciting advertising format where everyone signed in and watching sees the SAME ad at the same time and has an opportunity to comment, ask questions and rate it. What you need to operate successfully on Sweeva is a good splash page. If you can say the essential things about your business in a couple of headlines, a pic or banner and a handful of bullet points you are onto a winner. It's free, there is an optional upgrade if you want to earn from signups.

I can tell you - this new kind of surfing for traffic really does work and you will not be wasting your time as I feel you may be doing on traffic exchanges.

One of the ads I saw on Sweeva and followed up was a blog written by a young guy called Mike Gartner. It's a good looking, well written, and informative blog and Mike is going to go a long way in the world of online opps. and all the technology evolving to help you market.

To get your advertising on Sweeva, you earn points by surfing and spend those points to advertise. The more you are there, the more you comment etc., you can earn points bonuses which you will also gain from the people who see your add and give it a thumbs up.

To make my first splash pages, I have chosen InstantSplash. Once again it is free with an upgrade option, but because of it's huge initial popularity, the owner, Carl Bailey has imposed a limit on the number of splash pages you can have at one time. This might be just fine for you anyway and making a splash page is SO simple, it's easy to rustle up another one and scrap an older one. 5 minutes is really all it takes.
