Today I write, of nothing in particular, and of every thought I'm having. I was going to tell you that I am feeling kind of poetic today, but I wont because I want to use a word I dont think exists, and since Poetonous is the only word I want to use to describe myself today, and since it isn't even a word. I will just move on to something else.

If I was God I would create a world and call it Poetonia, and all the poetonians would live there. The snakes wouldn't be venomous, but poetonous. The sidewalks would be paves with poetry, and the music from inside the multicolored homes would always rhyme.. None of that rap from raponia would be allowed. The raponians are to vile, and wear their pants too low. They would have to have a visa to come to poetonia, and abide by a certain dress code while visiting.

The Poetonia's would be a friendly bunch, taking walks through yellow woods, and deciding which road to take. Annabelle Lee would be the national anthem, and Robert frost would be on the 5 dollar bill..

In Poetonia life would rhyme...

I guess in the back of my mind I have always wanted one. A wedding band that is.. But it never was top of my priority list. Nor his. I was never at the top of his priority list in any other way either. It sounds selfish I guess when you think about it, and I try to think about it, keep myself humble, and thankful for all I do have, instead of angry about all I dont have. But even with my best effort, I still feel a little hurt that my husband has never in 18 years bought me a christmas present, a birthday gift, a wedding ring, not even an anniversary card. Yeah it hurts. I want to feel special once in a blue moon. I know how materialistic that makes me sound, and Im not.

a flower out of the ditch would be a nice something that says hey I thought of you. You weren't there but you were still on my mind.

Anyway.. Today has been blabbity blah blah... Hubby has divorced as his relationship status on facebook. Ive known forever, never minded, but today it irritated me, so I posted on his facebook wall.. "When did you get divorced? Am I divorced too? If so Im going out tonight." So he calls me making excuses about why it was like that. Saddly, I didn't care why it was like that, or even that it was like that. I was pissed off about something entirely different, and I was just picking a fight.

Here is that story.. We bought this car from the sweetest old man, and we told him we would turn his tag in when we transferred the car. Well we bought the car on Dec. 17th, put it in hubby's name, and he drives it, he needed it, cuz his other car looked like something the salvage yard vomited up. So long story short, hubby was supposed to tend to tags and title. Its January 11th and he still hasn't tended to it. Hubby has never met the man, so when the man wants to know why it was nevr tended to he is coming to me, and I will look like the bad guy who couldn't tend to what needed tending to. So, I bitched, I nagged, I harped on the subject, and I got no where.. So the whole commenting on his facebook wall, started off as just me being a mad bitch. But it worked well. When he said "why are you making me look bad" I realized I had accomplished much more than I set out to accomplish.. So my reply was.. "I thought that was the name of the game, make your spouse look bad." I also told him that I would shut up and let him go back to being a divorced man in peace if he turned in that tag.

Chalk one up for team wifey, cuz he is leaving work early tomorrow to turn in that tag.. I love it when a plan comes together. I liketo think of those moments as devine intervention. Cuz me or God one, sure knew what I was doing.

Magnetic bookends that make the arrows look like they are just floating there.. What's not to love about that.. I found this at the Mocha website and I want want want this set of bookends.. Only.. I don't have a place to properly display it. Not and show off its awesomeness properly.. (Note to self: must remodel house soon and base the entire theme of the room around these bookends... lol yeah right.. If I win the lottery.. Im so doing it)

They also have this that I loooove ... A fall leaf door stop. It's too cute for words.. Dont you think?

The coolness of these two items and couple others almost makes me forget to wonder why anyone would need a pocket sized cell phone shaped portable cheese grater.. I can't imagine grating cheese on the go, but maybe it is a more popular thing than I realize.. What do you think?

What's not to love about sock monkeys? I have to admit that I love sock monkeys. I have found a couple adorable little guys in thrift stores and snagged them, I have even photoshopped them. But this takes the cake. Whats not to love about a sock monkey chair. Kudos to the imaginative person who thunk this up. I want one.. almost as much as I want a sock monkey dress, and am still a little gaga over the Uno card dress..

So, be warned if any of these items ever make their way to the thrift shop it's mine.. keep your hands off!!!!

secret to looking younger

I received the most wonderful comment today, and I thought id share my secret to younger healthier looking skin with you guys. Baking soda, there are plenty of "how to wash your face with baking soda" videos on youtube, and Im going to assume that if you are old enough to read, and are concerned with the condition of your skin enough to search about it, that I can spare you the step by step instructions. If you need help figuring it out tho, just slip on over to youtube and search it..

Anyway, I started using baking soda because as I near menopausal age, I find I am having more breakouts of adult acne, and my pores are getting bigger, and Im seeing age lines, and a friend of mine recommended baking soda to me. Since I am all about using natural products when I can, I tried it and I will tell you that I will never put soap on my face again. The complexion is smoother, the skin feels tighter, but not dry, and someone asked me today what I had been doing because I looked 10 years younger, and they were shocked when i said. Ive been drinking more water and washing with baking soda.. So.. Im sorry I didnt go into a lengthy truckload of stuff you dont care about, and I don't want to be bothered to write, but the medical sites will do that.. Im just here to tell you to wash your face with plain old baking soda and judge it for yourself..

I haven't posted in a while, and I'm not sure what prompted me to post tonight in the midst of an ear ache and feeling dizzy, but rest assured this post will be as pointless as what you have come o enjoy from me in the past and it will be all based o my thoughts an opinions, that I know you love so much.

Tonight I took my kids, and my nieces to the book fair at school, and it while signing us in, I noticed some of the last names on the list. Boatwright, ok obviously these folks came from a family that made boats in the past. The Miller's Im guessing, were a milling family, and the Taylors, surely are offsprings of the only taylor in the village at some point in history. But what about the Stoudmeyer's, or the Baughman's, or the Powell's, How about those Osborne's which is my family last name.. What do those names mean. Well, being me, and having an unquenchable curiosity for all things that don't matter to most people. I did a little research on random last names I found interesting.

I started off with Stoudmeyer, and I found out that it is Scottish, and stoud or "stout" refers to a beer, (Stout is a dark beer made using roasted malt or barley,^[1] hops, water and yeast. Stouts were traditionally the generic term for the strongest or stoutest porters, typically 7% or 8%,^[2] produced by a brewery.,) and Meyer means "The great one". So it makes perfect sense that the only Stoudemeyer I know has no trouble holding his booze, and even takes great pleasure in doing so. How could you not when your name means Beer, the great one. Can you imagine, somewhere in history, in some small village, a man made such great beer that he, and all his descendants, forever more became knows as The great beer.

Then there is Baughman, it is either Welsh, or German, and means, the small man; one who tilled the land, a farmer; dweller near the brook. I don't personally know any Baughman's, and I can think up any imaginative stuff to say about a man who lived near a stream and tilled the land. I have great respect for farmers, and am a big fan of the things they grow.. Rock on Mr. Farmer.

Next up I did my maiden name, how could I not? "Powell" what on earth could that mean. Off the top of my head Im thinking my people must have blown up wells, or maybe we were poor people, but we had the only well in town.. Let's find out.. In Welsh this was rendered as "ap-Howell" or "Hywel", meaning "son of Hywel", a male personal name popular since the Middle Ages in honour of the great 10th Century law-giving Welsh King. In time the two elements contracted to produce the name "Powell", which is first recorded in its modern form as Roger ap Howell, alias Powell, named in a lawsuit in 1563. The second possible origin of the surname is English and derives from a patronymic form of the given name Paul, meaning "small", from the Latin "paulus", and found in Langlands's "Piers Plowman" in 1367 as "Powel". My married name is Osborne, and naturally It was the next name I looked up, and pre look up all I can think of is Ozzy, so for my pre research guess, Im going to say, my children are descendants of Ozzy.. I haven't felt motivated about anything lately. Not to the point of getting up on ye old soappee box and letting it fly. Nothing really matters much these days. Its the price of mental stability I suppose.. Being the true Libra that I am I feel the need to weigh my options, do the math, list the pros and cons of my taking anti depressants..

On the one hand.. I am more social .. Ive been in my family.. Haha that's a stupid thing to say.. of course I've been in my family since birth and most of those people, cousins, aunts, uncles, I have never even spoke to. I go there.. Usually under protest, sit in a corner head down, no speakee to anyone.. Ive always been super shy like that, and feel less than worthy of being a member of my.. or any family.. No self esteem, a product of my raising.. The anti depressants have brought me out of that shell.. I not only talk to my relatives, I think they might actually enjoy listening to the things I have to say.. Who'd have thunk it..

On the other hand.. My art has suffered.. The mellow dramatic me is asleep, or on vacation, or just being lazy.. Cuz I cant write brilliant poetry.. Ok, so maybe it isn't brilliant poetry.. But its damn fine.. well.. it rhymes. Dr. Suess would be proud.. I don't want to paint, I don't have anything blog worthy to ramble on about. I don't really have thoughts.. I mean I do.. But not the same.

Now the good in it is. I don't over think things, I don't walk around with a dark cloud over my head, I don't get pissy about every little thing the hubby says and does, and the antidepressants kicks menopause's ass..

The bad.. I am not as in tune to the things around me as I was.. There was once a time..when I could just read peoples body language, and see the things behind the things they were saying.. Here is an example ... My mother in law (that old battle axe (antidepressants have not warmed me up to her at all) was married in the catholic church to her new husband and there was a little alter boy doing whatever little alter boys do.. But I noticed a something about him that just didn't set right, the way he looked at the women in their skirts with a lust not appropriate for his age, and the way he kept watching the priest as if he were scared of being caught looking at the women, and I leaned to my husband and I said that priest is molesting that kid.. Hubby shrugged me off and I didn't mention it again.. But sure as I'm sitting here, several months, or maybe a year later the story was in the news of that priest molesting alter boys. The priest ended up killing himself and so I guess the little guy.. or guys.. never got the closure they deserved.. Or maybe they did.. But.. The antidepressants have taken that "just knowing stuff" away from me..

Then again (i cant help it I'm Libra..) maybe not knowing stuff is a good thing. Because the stuff I knew I couldn't fix, I couldn't have approached alter boy and discussed the priest molesting him... What would I have said.. "hello little alter boy I have a hunch that you are being violated?" You can't do that.. Cuz as sure as I was that I was right there was still a chance I was wrong..

With anti depressants I am losing weight I have more energy and I don't think about how and when Ill die.. I can watch the news and not worry about every little thing I hear and those people I am hearing about as if their story means something to me.. I just watch and detach. that's a whole new and novel thing for me..

But then again. I am detached and I generally just don't care about people and their problems and I just want them to keep their doom and gloom to themselves.. Is a shallow unfeeling life a good life at all??

Are anti depressants really meant to help me, or to desensitize me.. Are they fixing me, or are they messing me up.. I was a different kind of person, and some people thought I was weird and I didn't socialize.. Now I do.. But maybe nothing was wrong with me to begin with.. The world needs all kinds right? and I was one of those kinds... Now I'm just like everyone else, an maybe in being like everyone else I am selling out and becoming nothing at all..

Maybe the antidepressants that we get from those "practicers" of medicine aren't helpful. Just a way to change us into something society deems normal. Who gets to decide whats normal anyway? I guess that's the governments job.. You should act this way and think this thing and if you don't then you need medicine so you can fit in and become one of them and do what they do, and think what they think, and slowly the government will make the whole world one big zombie mosh pit and then rule without thought or conscience... Thanks America for taking away peoples individuality...

Im still no closer to deciding if I should or should not be on the anti-depressants.. I have one pill left then I haveto decide should I go back to the doctor and get a refill, or should I just embrace all those things about me that make me different and unique and the way God made me.. Yes I have , and have always had depression, and I like not feeling sad and unloveable. But I also like having deep thoughts that mean something.. So.. The question remains.. would love your input.. What do you think of it all.?

The day I got a restraining order against my sinus problems

I was sitting, minding my own, not feeling particularly one way or another about the day I was having.. Flipping channels on my remote. The 5 is stuck so I can't watch channel 55 which is the channel I'd be watching if the 5 weren't stuck.. So I was zoned out staring at the TV, some infomercial was going on about cleansing my colon.. The man on the show looked like something that should be cleansed from the colon. Which is why I was watching, I was thinking how he should have gotten someone who looked not like that to do his commercial. No one is gonna order a product that makes you look like that.

So anyway.. Long story short.. There was a knock at the door and I thought about ignoring it, but I don't get many visitors so I drug myself off the sofa and made my way to the door, but not to quickly, wouldn't want mystery guest to think I was too eager for company.

I peeped through the peep hole and saw a familiar face.. It was HIM.. I locked the door and slid a chair against it and proceeded to do the same to the other two doors and then in a frenzy ran around to check every window, and just when I thought I was safe, there HE was coming at me with lightening speed from the basement door... I turned to run, but tripped over that plant I cant pronounce and never really liked, and I landed face first on the cat..

She is my brothers cat, I am allergic, but only if I touch her, as long as I keep a safe distance from her I am OK. Over the years we have come to a mutual understanding. She stays away from me and I don't throw things at her.. It works out nicely for everyone. Until today. There I was face down in the cat trying to decide which is the worser fate, staying face down in the cat until my eyes swell shut and throat starts to close.. Or getting up and facing HIM..

My fate was decided for me when the cat started to hiss.

I pushed myself up from the floor and before I could get to my feet with a whoosh, HIM, his wife and all their luggage zipped up my nose and set up camp.. I could feel the tent stakes being driven into my brain.. next they must have taken a shower because the water started to drip my my eyes and nose. and I was miserable..

I knew from past visits that taking a shower usually relaxed them and they would take a nap, so I hopped in a hot shower and waited for the sound of snoring.. When i was sure they were asleep I got out of the shower threw on my clothes and headed for the sheriff's office..

The Sheriff though intimidating in size had a warmth in his eyes that eased your worries as if they were saying to you.. I have everything under control.. The sheriff was a good man and in all his 36 years as sheriff not one bad guy had eluded him. I know this because He told this story quite regularly in Sunday school.. He had been my Sunday school teacher for the past 3 years..

I plopped into the chair across from him at the desk with the name plate "Sheriff Mosley T Mosley" It was quite a handsome name plate, shiny, engraved letters on a solid block of wood, not like the plastic thing on the other desks on my way in..

"what can I do for you son" the sheriff asked

"I want a restraining order" I replied

"is some one bothering you son"

"yes" I replied, matter of factly.. "well..no.. Not someone.. but.. some THING" I said in a slightly lower voice because I knew this is the part where he begins to think I'm crazy..

His eyes widened and he looked me over for a minute before saying "what kind of thing?"

I proceeded to tell my story of the HIM and his wife and how they had barged into my home and whooshed up my nose without warning or invitation.. By now THEY had heard us talking and woke up and were doing some sort of dance right behind my eyes... It must have been rap, because I could feel the boom boom boom pounding in my head..

The sheriff told me that he thought this situation was better handled by a doctor. I told him that I knew the doctor could make them leave but once they were gone I would need a restraining order so they couldn't come back..

It took some begging and pleading before I convinced the sheriff to give me the restraining order and I think he only did it to get me out of his office, But I didn't care what his reason was, as long as I god that restraining order..

With all the proper information and signatures on my restraining order and for a $25 dollar processing fee, I had my restraining order in hand, thanked the sheriff and made my way across the street to see Doc..

Doc was my uncle, he had treated me since I was a baby and he would know just what to do to evict my uninvited guests.. I told him about the guests that had zipped into my nose and he gave me something that he said would have them begging to move out in no time.. That was just what I wanted to hear..

I knew they were getting upset because my eyes began to water to the point Doc thought I as crying.. The pounding in my head became more like a stabbing, I think it was HER high heeled shoes piercing into my brain.

So I took the meds which made me kind of drowsy and I must have fallen asleep, because I was awakened by loud talking and a tap on my forehead..I opened my eyes and there they were HIM and HER standing in front of me, her in a polka dotted dress, and him in a tie and straw hat.. He began to speak in a deep gruff scratchy voice..

"you think you're rid of us, but we will be back, because this is one of our favorite vacation destinations.."

"That is where you are wrong" I said pulling the paper out of my shirt pocket and unfolding it.

"See there, your names on this paper that clearly says if you come within 100 feet of me I can have you arrested."

He read the paper out loud.. "Mr. pain Sinus, and Mrs. Pressure Sinus are hereby ordered to keep a distance of at least 100 foot from the person or persons in possession of this restraining order. Until such time as paper is lost or person dies."

"and its signed by the sherrif" I said, very pleased with myself.

They stomped off without another word slamming the door behind them, and to this day I have never seen them again. And that is the story of the day I got a restraining order against my sinus problems..

Now what to do about that cat who I am certain is plotting revenge and licking her swollen paw..

I hate going out places. I always run into people I know, but Im not a big talker in crowds.. Come to my house and Ill talk up a storm. But outside of my comfort zone I clam up. People think Im weird, Im sure they do.. Because I don't say much. But I just don't have anything to say. Im not good at small talk, Im more of a make your point and shut up kinda person. Sometimes My attention span is just so gone that I think of 100 different things in the process of trying to get one lousy sentence out. Half way through the sentence I forget what I was saying, Or what the point of me even saying it was. Like this blog, it started off having a point, this rambling Im doing was leading somewhere. But that point got lost somewhere in the 8 sentences I manages to stay on track long enough to wrie.

Maybe I lost my point when I remembered my husband has a dentist appointment next week, or when I tried to remember if the kids had football or cheerleading practice today, or was it when I was remembering the day we bought that dress my daughter is wearing in the picture on the wall.

I had this thought, (while I was writing the 4 sentences that came after the 8 from earlier) Now, Forgive me if the crazy comes out in this part but.. I was thinking how blogs are like houses, and how I should improve mine cuz I think my blog might be the equivelent of a trailer park, complete with the car on blocks, and a couple lovely pink flamingos on the front lawn..
