When a holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, as Christmas Day and New Year's Day does this year, the closure applies to the next business day. As such, Canadian post offices will be closed, and there will be no collection or delivery of mail, on Monday, Dec. 26 and Tuesday, Dec 27, 2011 and Monday, Jan 2, 2012. Refer to Canada Post Public Holiday Schedule. Our post office also does not have outgoing mail on weekends

To reduce risk of loss during this period, effective Friday, December 16th, we will not be shipping any orders until next year.

We will also be taking a break during the last week of December.

You may go ahead and place your online order, we will process them and prepare them for mail, but we will hold all parcels until January 3, 2012.

Our 2011 suggested holiday mailing deadlines are:

Canada - December 8th
U.S.A. - December 5th

The postal service may experience delays with the heavier volume of upcoming holiday mail and winter storms. To avoid disappointment, order early!

There is always a chance, that we can still get your purchase to you before Christmas if you order after these dates, but why take a chance or add to your holiday stress?

Xpresspost, Expedited Parcel USA or Xpresspost USA are options, but these services are far more expensive. Contact us for additional information.

Remembrance Day Shipping Delay

Our Post Office has no outgoing mail on weekends and as there is no postal service in Canada on Remembrance Day, orders received after noon today will be delayed in their shipment.

We do process all incoming orders and put them into our outgoing mail as usual, but Canada Post won't put your parcel into their mail system until Monday, November 14.

Postal Service to Resume Tuesday June 28

Senate passes back-to-work bill; mail to resume Tuesday

We are starting to process orders that were being held (waiting for postal service to resume) in preparation of getting these in the mail on Tuesday.

We are hoping with the backlog of mail and the few postal workers who are not happy, they won't delay the mail too long.

Shipping Orders Ceased - National Wide Lockout

Canada Post has shut down its operations nationwide after nearly two weeks of rotating strikes and (months of) failed negotiations with its union.

As of today, we are no longer shipping any orders.

If this continues, we will look at alternative shipping methods.

Both sides have to give 72 hours strike or lockout notice, however, it can take them up to 4 days to get our parcels out of the country. So we are still holding orders.

Possible Canada Post strike delays shipments

With the threat of a postal strike hanging over our heads, we decided that May 17th would be our last day of putting parcels into the mail system.

By doing so, we are hoping that Canada Post can manage to at least get our parcels to the border prior to the possible strike date (they will be in a strike position on May 25).

News is sparse and not very reliable, with posturing on both sides of the table, factual news is difficult to establish.

If there is not a strike next week we will have to decide on the quality of their service as I am sure there will be continued work slowdowns (which we are currently experiencing).

We will not let Canada Post jeopardize our business or disappoint our customers, and will only start shipping once we are comfortable with the postal service standards.

Easter Holiday Shipping Delay Notice

There is no postal service here on Good Friday, April 22nd or Easter Monday, April 25th. You can refer to the Canada Post Holiday Schedule.

And as our local Post Office also has no outgoing mail on weekends, this means that we have no outgoing mail for four days.

Therefore, as of today, we are holding all incoming orders and we won't be putting them into the mail system until Tuesday, April 26th.

Why do we do this? We have found that by reducing the number of our parcels sitting around a post office over a long weekend holiday, this has eliminated undelivered (lost) parcels during a holiday.

During this non-shipping period, you may go ahead and place your order with us, they will be fully processed, they will only be held in our outgoing mail until Tuesday morning.
