Auckland for Holiday

After 3 months in NZ, i go to Auckland for holiday. 3 months hide in rural town. OMG!!!

I've stayed at my fren's house at Papatoetoe, yes funny name for a place. As I'm still blur what Auckland looks like, I have to wait for my fren to finish work to bring us go around.

This is a very tight budget trip as we only got $120 for 2 person for 2 day!!!!!

Nite has arrive we went out for dinner. Guess what, we are going to eat Malaysia FOOD!!!! After 3 months, my GOD!

And there for half of my budget. Yes, 30 buck per head that is about RM75. Bet you never ate so expensive Malaysian food.

Next stop Auckland famous Skycity Tower. Looks very short cause in Malaysia we got KL Tower. No offend.

But it look nice and pretty.

Next time have to go up there to look down from that 2 glasses. This time no budget. :)

Next we go to the casino see if it nicer then Genting. Sorry no camera can show to you guys but my comment is not big but look more like Genting but without smokes. Can't imagine people gamble without smoking....hahahah....because is illegal....

Just in front of Skycity a pub/bar in a historical building that are going to sell. Looks nice and happenning. But no budget. Pass.

Have a walk around the streets. That is really many of those old building, cool.

Even a Imax cinema in a Old building.

Then went to Mission Bay's Movenpick. Wow that is so nice and so expensive if you are using RM. If I'm not wrong that is a 9 bucks ice-cream. RM20++. The special about this ice-cream is not the ice-cream is the wafer cup.

And this even more expensive I think is almost RM30.

I'm so not enough with Auckland, I need to go again. So many places I did not went to. So see you again Auckland. I'll be back.

There is a lot to Kebab in NZ?!?!

It is super big that we can share by 2 adult. Wonder why there is so many obese in NZ?

When to mount walk @ Mount Maunganui

May, 2008(Yes!!! I'm slow updating my blog, I know I know.......will try to improve hehehe. Very slow internet here sharing with a bunch of people.)

Kiwi fruit season just started and got a lot of non working days. What to do, don't waste it right? We went to do something never been done while in Malaysia. Mount walk/jog @ Mount Maunganui the nearest nice scenic view place that we can find. And it is Autumn here and turning cold, it is about 10c-13c.

I think we arrived at Maunganui about 3.30pm and we go around the beach for warming up before going up the nice mount. What is so special about this mount? It is a mount on the tip of a beach. I've never seen such mount, did you?

It looks small from the little mount I took this picture. And it is quite small... hehehe. Compare to Mount Kinabalu. Heading to the smaller mount......

I saw this pair of couple and took their pic from behind cause it looks so romantic. Do you think so? hehehe....

Weeee, babe on surfboard... Cool.... Wonder why they are not cold? The water is freaking cold!!!!

At last on top liao, and I'm half dead liao.... no energy and sweating.... it's cold and sweating.... won't experience that at Malaysia...

Even the toilet is nice, maybe it is normal for many people but not for Malaysian....

After losing calories and now it is time to add more..... hahaha..... We found a chinese buffet for NZD16.80 per head.... Consider cheap don't convert to RM.......

The next day expecting muscle ache or something but its a miracle..... nothing aching..... with a bigger tummy I think....

Bought the most expensive Jandal (for me la)!!!!

First time but a branded Jandal (jandal is means by japanese sandal) NZD 59.90 that is about RM150. But I got it by 50% discount that means is a good bargain. NZD30 and it still cost RM72. There goes my first time........

Have my birthday celebrate at NZ, yeah.

Went to a buffet restaurant named "Valentine" but most of the buffet restaurant in NZ have this promotion that birthday boy or gurl have free dinner. But need to bring some fren though. Normally is NZD 29 per person. And there is oyster and mussel here. Very nice.

Hamilton/Waikato Trip

Another week has passed, time for holiday. There is big event at Hamilton, "Balloons Over Waikato". Have 3 hours drive to Hamilton.

When arrive to the city centre. Opppsss then we know everything has been cancelled due to a firemen sacrificed few days ago. And the whole city is stopped and waiting for the firemen pass by for giving their salute. Wow, never seen such in Malaysia. Very touching.

Now we only hoping the Balloons Over Waikato is still on. So we when to the location. As expected it is cancelled.... ~_~' The only this i can get photo is the board. "hao guo mao". And the lake over there is not so bad. I got some more pictures.

Rotorua drive around....

Try to drive around at Rotorua for some nice scenic view. Found a Okareka Lake that is just less then 10km from the city.

Went to a citycall Rotorua

First week in NZ. It's not working on Sunday. Need to go shopping for foods. To where we live there is 3 nearby city, Tauranga, Rotorua and Whakatane(read as Facka.ta.ne hehehehe). We decided to go Rotorua a city on volcano, thermal pool etc.

When we arrived. We can smell of the sulphur everywhere. Smells like bad egg. We go straight to city centre. OMG!!! OMG!!!!!! and OMG!!!!!!!!!!!

It is like ghost city. No people, no car and all shop is close. @_@'

So Pai Seh....... NZ have different working hours and days. Most shop close on Sunday even Pharmacy. Luckily supermarket is open that is not in the city.

Pukehina Parade

After I bought the car I straight away drive from Auckland to Te Puke that about 3 and a half hours ride. Of course using my GPS on Nokia N82.

Arrived Te Puke on 6pm or something. Then I go to the Pack house that I promised to work for them for the Kiwi fruit season - Trevelyan's Pack and Cool Limited. After report myself in and they show me where I will live for the rest of the 3 months. They said it is about 20 minutes away from work. I think ok lah. Then it is 20 minutes away + 120km/h drive. That is far away, dude. Luckily they provide bus to work.

The place are really nice. It is the pack house's CEO holiday home at the beach. Beach for surfing. GOD! Nice bitch... oppss Beach.

Meet 4 people there that are from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia. They are Tracy(HK), Paula(TW), Han Seong and Aaron(MY). First day we didn't talk much cause I'm a shy guy, hehe. I don't even really get their name on the first day.

I got 1 more day before start work. Before that I have 1 day to get foods and things.

I’ve Bought a Car

Wow, car in NZ is very cheap and I've just bought myself a Toyota Vista(Camry) 1994 for just 2300NZD (about RM 5750) in Malaysia you only get a almost died car with RM5750 I tell you. The car is quite ok just need engine oil change and WOF renew and registration renew. 1.8l 4 inline engine is small for this country but is good enough for me. Back in Malaysia I only drive 660cc to 1.3l engine car. Car conditioning is great and the sound system is surprisingly great, good bass as it has woofer. Even it is an old luxurious car it is still very good quality in accessories. And with Celica 4S-FE 1.8 engine inside 125HP.

Alright then, ready to go to Te puke for check-in to my working place. Firstly have to go home to Collin's house to take my belongings. Start my GPS on my N82, shoot it not working!!!! I'm lost. Hahaha…. Don't rely too much on technology I tell you.

What can I do is go to take lunch first, haha. Look for a book store, and look for a map. Thinking to buy one buy when I checked on the price…..!!!! 16NZD wow just used 2700NZD so 16NZD will be very big now..Haha…. NVM just have a look and remember where I should go and put it back, hahaha. Feels very bad but what to do save money what. Luckily I've got to Collin's home at last. Get fix on the damn GPS and after 30 minutes I've got it. Pack all the things and GOGOGO!!!

Arrived New Zealand but ……….

Finally after 12 hours of flight arrived New Zealand. Wow feeling dizzy. Now I know what 'jet lag' is. But when crossing border security, damn been hold and waited for 15 hours. ~_~' It is about 18 – 20 person is waiting there too for interview all from same flight. I said wow, that need long hours waiting (I'm thinking of 2-3 hours only). OK, it's my turn after 14++ hours the last person. She asked me do I understand English. And I said "Yes I do". She said, "Why you didn't tell us earlier that you know English, you no need to wait for so long". It's been 15 hours and I've continually asking them question with English and they don't know that I know English. Wow…….. What else 20 Malaysian only 4 people go through. Even 2 of my friends sent back to Malaysia. They have no flight until 3 days later so they been sent to jail for 3 days 2 nights holiday at the jail. Wow again, that is an expensive and special holiday trip. Free food too.

At last I've got out of the Airport. Call my friend to get us from Airport. And we stayed at his home for 2 days. Until we get a car on the 2^nd day. What else coming is the backpack I've book actually charged me for the 4 person dorms room. That is caused by the immigration I cannot call then or get to the backpackers on time to check in. Wasted me 120NZD, damn it.

Anyway, I'm arrived and I'm lucky enough and quite happy now. Happy Holiday Working To ME…….
