Traffic Generation Methods

One of the most frustrating things for a website owner is finding ways to generate website traffic. There are literally millions and millions of websites on the internet. Your site is just one in this sea of millions. So how do you get potential customers to find your site? Here are a few tips on implementing good traffic generation methods.

If you think about it, your website is a lot like a traditional brick and mortar store. If you were to open up a store in your city or town, the first thing you would do is advertise. It is critical that you get the word out that you are open for business. Without a steady flow of customers or ‘traffic’ your business will die.

The same principle applies to a website. You need to be able to effectively get the word out that your website is open for business. In order to be successful when you have so much competition it’s important that you study and become good at various traffic generation methods. If you cannot drive traffic to your site, your online business will die.

So how do you go about finding effective traffic generation methods? A good way to uncover great methods is to find someone who has already mastered traffic generation for their own business. It’s much easier to find a person who is successful on the internet already and follow his or her advice than to try and figure it out on your own. There are many people on the internet who say they can show you how to “make a million dollars in five days,” but they haven’t made the first dollar themselves. By doing a little bit of research, you should be able to find a legitimate marketer and follow his or her advice on how to generate website traffic.

There are many great traffic generation methods you can use to increase the amount of quality visitors you get to your site. It’s a good idea to learn and implement as many of these methods as you possibly can. Be sure to test each method you use to determine how successful it is for your particular site. This will allow you to scrap the methods that don’t work for you and focus on the ones that bring in the most traffic. Follow the advice of someone who knows how to generate website traffic and you can’t go wrong:

How I Went about Planting Income-Generating Elements on My Web Pages and Blog

Hi, Friends!

I apologise for the delay in this post, as I've been busy of late.

Well, as mentioned in my previous post, I'm going to explain the process of my planting income-generating elements on my web pages and blog, which are

- Affiliate Marketing
- Google Adsense

1. Affiliate Marketing
Firstly, I registered myself as an affiliate marketer with some organisations that have connections with merchants who provide opportunities for affiliates to sell their products or services, with a commission given in return to affiliates who generate a sale or lead. Some of these organisations are:

Next, I chose the products or services I wished to promote by copying and pasting the codes from these merchants onto my website (http://www.datinglovemarriage.com)and blog.

2. Google Adsense
Firstly, I signed up for a Google Adsense account. You may sign up one for yourselves too, at:

Next, I activated my account, and received Google advertisements on my blog by copying and pasting AdSense ad codes onto my blog.

How I Went About Setting Up My Website

In this and my next post, I'm going to share with you how I went about setting up my website (http://www.datinglovemarriage.com), and planting income-generating elements on its web pages and on my blog:

1. Getting a Domain Name
A domain name is a web address that enables online visitors to locate me in cyberspace, just like in the physical world, I need a home/office address for visitors to locate me.
I started off by thinking out a suitable domain name, and I settled for

http://www.datinglovemarriage.com.

Next, I had to check that this domain name hadn't been taken up by somebody else, by doing a search on an online establishment that lets me buy a domain name (Please see below for the list of a few of such establishments), buy this domain name (Don't worry, it's cheap), and register it at the same online establishment that I bought my domain name from. There're a number of online establishments that offer such services, of which a few are:

2. Choosing a Web Host
A web host is an online establishment that hosts my web site under my domain name (http://www.datinglovemarriage.com). While I typed in the contents on my web pages and blog, I planted income-generating elements on them. As explained in my previous post, these elements comprise products and services in which I'm an affiliate marketer of, and Google Adsense.

In my next post, I'm going to explain the process of my planting these income-generating elements on my web pages and blog.

How I Generate Income from My Website and Blog

Let me start off by sharing my knowledge on internet marketing with you. I'm going to do so by explaining how I generate income from my website (http://www.datinglovemarriage.com) or this blog in the following 2 ways:

1. Affiliate Marketing
For newbies, affiliate marketing is the promoting (marketing/selling)of other people's (it can be an individual's or a company's) products or services, and earning a one-time off commission or a recurring income for life :-) in so doing.
If you visit my website or examine this blog, you'll see many such products and services that I'm an affiliate marketer of, such as handbags, jewelry and dating services.

2. Google Adsense
For newbies yet again, Google Adsense is the placing of advertisements on my blog by the world's renowned Google Search Engine. These Google's advertisements are from merchants that are advertising their products or services. Once a visitor to my blog clicks on such an advertisement on my blog, the merchant will pay Google a fee, in which I'll get a cut of it from Google. :-)
If you examine this blog, you'll see such advertisements springing up on the page. These advertisements can be identified by the phrase that comes with the advertisements, 'Ads by Google'.
