In my 2012 bucket list, I wrote one of my plans which has something to do with Feb 14. Yup! I don't know what really got into my head as i wrote that but it was like this "To have a date by Feb 14!" hahah! uhmm... I wasn't actually hoping that I'd be able to date someone on that day but umm,... since i have this silly best friend, it turned out, I dated someone! not just someone but someone i prayed for.. ^____^ It was really funny, coz Farrah planned on surprising me on that same day but I caught her a day before(her birthday) saying "ui!Cy! ayaw pakig date ug lain hap" and i was like, "huh? wa man gali koy ma date? haha" and so asked her, "y man?" and there, she confessed! ahahah!

Its amazing how life has its way of surprising us.. sometimes we pray for something "little" and get disappointed coz it wasn't answered that quick, however, surprisingly , few days later you realize that God has not merely answered your prayer exactly as you'd wanted it to be, but you were given with an extra awesome answer for that wish.. a lot bigger! ^_______^

Iligan City Junior Eagle’s Club 3rd Batch of Recruitment

Before September ended, ICJEC had planned for recruitment,only this time, we were targeting a mass recruitment. To do that, Kuya Khert designed our posterwhich will be posted on different schools here in Iligan, including Mindanao State University– Iligan Institute of Technology, Lyceum and St. Michael’s College and even onplaces or establishments where bunch of crowds could check up on. Likewise, tobe able to reach and gather more attention from everyone here in Iligan, ourKuya had also created an ICJEC website showcasing different activities andservices the organization has done on the previous years, as well as the goals,missions and vision of the Iligan City Junior Eagles Club. Luckily, thiswebsite was created right on one the most popular social networking sites i.e.Facebook, which has not only given the people info’s on our organization buthas also given them the chance to register online.

After weeks of preparation, October 8, presentation ofrecruits finally came on our doors.Gladly, there were more or less 20 people whocam and were oriented by the Club President Eagle Jhay Ruben Gagara.

Before the first screening came, some of these applicants,a.k.a neophytes, backed out, on the brighter side, however, many were stilleager to really join the club and after few weekends, the number of neophytesgrew until it has reached 25 on the final balloting.

Float Parade

As part of the celebration of Iligan City's Diyandi Festival, Float Parade served as one of the highlights and the ICJEC (Iligan City Junior Eagles Club) were one of the participants.

September 28,2011, the day before the festival, marked the date for the event.

I was one of those who will have to stand for hours in our float hence, I was forced to wake up as early as 4:30 in the morning so I could prepare for the activity. However, it has been my nature to be.. uhmm, quite slow in preparing things [yung mag eat gale? mag pa wafa pa light.. and all, gurl thing, kung baga!] so it turned out, na late pa rin ako :( and worse! I kind of forgot where Erlinda Compound is, the place where we, my ate and kuya, will have to meet. So what I did, I walked the street where there were lots of people, hoping to find them, and with God's grace! Kuya Arvie found me with his motorcycle, and so we drove off to the compound where I finally saw my ate and kuya! [haizt! kataas sa akong journey, padulong pa gani ko sa compound ha, how much more ang parade?]

Before our float, rode its way to the streets of Iligan, [char?] Farrah, my best friend, had a tiny, little, misunderstanding with me [yeah... i really felt guilty] and with someone whose name should no longer be mentioned. That tiny, little misunderstanding was only caused by the issue on what costume should i wear, as I was representing the Cebuana [not the CEBUANA, but the other Cebuana, a.k.a, mga taga Cebu okemz?] She brought with her, a dress that she'd want me to put on, the dress which according to her, "the reason why she's late" however, someone negated this idea and insisted that I should not change my outfit. For this reason, Farrah felt annoyed, and quite mad.. Imagine, the struggles she had just to bring that dress for me? That she had also ran from their jeepney just to cope up with the traffic. aww so so sorry for that Far...

Anyway, going back to the said event, as I've said, nakita ko na sila diba, around 8am, the flaot parade began. [Note: hastang iniita na jud ni!] As we strted the event,it was somehow, overwhelming to witness such a huge crowd, who, along with us, sacrificed and endured the pain caused by the burning heat of daylight, just so they could witness the said event.To ease their suffering though, we threw some candies to them, some were smiling, esp. the kids, but some were shouting "Shamcey!", pertaining these to our Ate Chicks slash Ate Lourenz Remitillo who has been the pride of Philippines, as well as the ICJEC, for being the First Filipina crowned as Miss Supranational.

This was taken before the parade started, right after Farrah had her emote mode [hehe..] and yeah! I look like I'm only attending a JS Prom. Not to mention the outfit! look'n familiar? yeah yeah, that's the same dress I wore last Anniversary, but hey! I had no other option ye know? I was informed that there were no available costume for Cebuana at the last minute, so that makes me the "unprepared participant" :P

On the other hand, the event ended up successfully. We all felt, quite sunburned, tired and worse, hungry and thirsty, but I felt satisfied for what I did. Never in my life did I imagined to be a part of such event, usually I am one of the observers but on that day, I became a part of the Object to be observed haha! :}

August 8, 2011 was the D-day. We finally came to our laststage of being an applicant, the bridge in becoming an official member ofICJEC.

Geez, as I recall that day, we were really that nervous! I mean, how would you feelbeing introduced to a more than 20 guests from Ozamis City,Junior Eagles Club Chapter? Can you just imagine how fast my heart was poundingas I was standing in front of this crowd who stares like, I don’t know, theyseem to eat me! Quite ironic though, there were only 6 of us applicants and yetthe number of guests is surprisingly that big!

What made us really, really nervous was when the initiationstarted, we were all blind folded, we had no idea of what’s going to happennext, or what will be the things that we’d do, there were a lot of questionsgoing through our minds, what only kept us from where we were that day is thetrust that we took from the words of our kuya’s and ate’s, that the JuniorEagles Club completely discourages any form of brutality during the initiation,that it’s an anti-hazing Fraternity. Andgladly, we didn’t regret, they did not fail us. However, that didn’t mean wehad been taken cared of like little prince and princesses! No! They made us dothings which umm, shall I say, disgusting? wait, but it was really funnythough! That was the only time I did something I had never thought I would do!Moreover, we were also interviewed by some of the members of the OCJECscreening committee... and ugh! I was the last one to be interviewed. While Iwas waiting for my turn, I was wondering why some of my co-applicants were tearyeyed as they finished the interview, I thought they were just being so,sensitive or emotional kind of things, and I even protested that I would NEVERshed a single tear! Coz who would’ve thought that it was going to be like that?!The questions were not like the things I’ve thought of. Finally, as I took myturn, gosh… they all thought I wasn’t serious coz of all the applicants, I wastold that I was the only one who gets to smile once in a while, [huhu… theyreally had no idea that my heart was already pounding hard!] don’t I have theright to smile then? Well, they don’t get it, some people smile to hide whatthey really feel, and I am a member of such. They said things which umm...tickled my nature… know what that is? I’m cry-baby for God’s sake! Oh, well, Iended up hugging our ICJEC president, [wait, when I think about that, what thehell did I hugged him for?] I don’t know, I just wanted to cry…

Finally, the last stage, announcement of who have passed theinitiation… again! This part was one of the heart breaking, jaw dropping, moments!As Kuya Jhay announced the new members… obviously, we were all nervous!! AteMae and Ate Farrah were the first two whose names had been called, third wasKuya Jan, whose application form was torn out for being so confident that he’llbe accepted…aww, I was happy for them, but I was also praying my name would becalled… unfortunately I was asked one last question why I should be a member ofthe club, and same goes for Kuya Migs and Kuya James. My heart was thumpinghard, while Farrah and Ate mae were all crying for us.. gee… Kuya Jhay addedthat out of us three, Kuya James, Kuya Migs and I, only one name will be calledas one of the newly accepted member and the other two will have to leave… I wasalready dead nervous!! When Kuya said, that the last member will be the personwho doesn’t wear a white T-shirt… we were kind of confused, what he said didn’tsink in instantly, but as we look uponthe t-shirts, I realize Kuya Jhay was actaully referring to me!!! Gosh!!! Youknow how happy I was?! I burst out into tears!! The nicest feeling for that dayis to know you’re finally a member!! Sadly, we cried for feeling sorry for ourtwo other co-applicant… Kuya thankedthem for all the efforts they did, and yeah, we all cried… we almost believedthat!! ALMOST! When He declared that allof us 6 applicants were actually accepted!! Gosh!!! Another turn of events!That moment marked the start of being a member of the ICJEC, us girls wereobviously the ones who got so emotional, hehe… All our Ate’s and Kuya’swelcomed us and we were so touched! haha!! I can’t imagine that I was really anofficial member! XDD

Hey! I'm an Applicant

Did it ever came to your mind of becoming a social worker? Donating things which can, in some way, provide what people need like clothing, school supplies for the kids, foods, medical missions and more? Yeah, I bet you did, especially when you're still that kid with the innocent and pure heart? hmm?

Back when I was young, ughh.. a little bit younger, I had thought of becoming a social worker, sort of, I don't know how I came up with such idea but maybe because, as a child, seeing those street children with their old ripped out clothes and their tiny little bodies which grew accustomed to the burning heat of daylight and to the cold nights as they lay themselves on that ice-cold pavement that we occasionally walk through, you just can't help but feel sorry for them. That as their pitiful, begging eyes stare on that food you were holding while spreading their hands; giving then the food seemed to be the right thing to do. Even when you were a child, however, you know all too well that these were not obviously enough, and in that instant, you'd say "What I can do for now may just be so little to accommodate everyone of you but one day, I'll make sure, I'll be coming back armed with enough things to help you guys out." [hmmmm... typical childish thoughts ey? Nah... you're wrong, when I said those line, I was dead serious!]

Such thoughts remained as a thought until my best friend Farrah, invited me to join ICJEC - Iligan City Junior Eagles Club, an organization which aims to provide the needy with services they can offer, such as, feeding program, outreach program, medical missions, and a whole lot more!! I was so happy and got very excited to hear the news but the moment she added that, this is no ordinary organization and is actually a fraternity... well, I started doubting, not only will it make my parents upset but of course, I, as an innocent young lady [char! assuming..] with a very very tiny body almost fragile enough to take any form of hazing!?? will this move be reasonable? Hell no!! BUT, my best friend assured me that this organization we were about to join, completely discourages any form of brutality, so as her friend.. yeah, I trusted her word and proved that she wasn't bluffing or anything..

July 23, 2011, along with James Sunogan, Miguel Rico Medilo, Janh Dacua, Mae Florence Separa and my best friend, Farrah Marie Separa, we officially applied for a membership and under ICJEC President Jhay Ruben Gagara, we started our first clean up drive activity at Children's Park.

Iligan City Junior Eagles Club Anniversary

On this night newly accepted members and all other kuya’swho haven’t taken the oath yet are suppose to attend on this event and take ouroaths, sadly, the expenses needed are too heavy for us juniors.

So instead of participating, we, particularly the females,turned out to be the ushers. It didn’t really matter, I only wanted to meet andgreet our seniors. This night was the first social gathering I’ve attended toand the experience was just nice, to shake their hands, congratulate them andcall them KUYA and they call us back as Ate and Kuya, which in fact is quiteweird, but that’s just the way it is.

Apart from doing our jobs, we also enjoyed taking picturesand laugh out loud for the magic tricks made by our Kuya khert. [note:it wasn’t really magic as it is, it was purely a trick! Haha]

Tale of 3 Sisters

Okay, I’m not writing this because I sort of bumped my head hard and eventually got a brilliant idea for a good story or something. A big NO, well, I may not have ‘bumped’ my head, but when I was digging through my old emails, I found this letter with a subject name, Tale of 3 Sisters, and there it goes, memories came flashing back, flooding my subconscious mind (weh.. ngilad pod haha!) No, really, it’s a mixed up emotion, looking down through those old pictures, well, I didn’t actually cried! [that’d be an exaggeration, wouldn’t it?] but I was just kind of.. enthralled, realizing how far this friendship has gone through.

Tale of 3 Sisters actually dates back almost 7 years ago, it started when a movie entitled Tale of 2 Sisters gained it’s popularity in 2005, when the 3 of us were still in our sophomore years in high school, the time when our friendship slowly bloomed into something we’d never realized it to be. And since there are “three” of us, “Tale of 2 sisters” eventually became the” Tale of 3 Sisters” [sort of a joke though]

Okay! So much for the history, let’s start going back to where I think it all started.

So as I have said, there are three of us:

hahaha! Of all the things that I could name myself, why is it that I chose to call myself the "cry-baby"? well I guess, that was how I behaved during those years! hahah!

Meet Nisa --- The Artist

June of 2004 was the year when I first met Nisa, the time when I first set my foot to the place where I will spend the next four years of my exciting and fabulous high school life, Iligan City National High School.

This ground was where we had our everyday routine, yes, Flag Ceremony, as early as 5:30am [gosh, so early to sing the national anthem!]… and as far as I can remember, I always get to be in front of the line! Why is that? Is that because, I lack height? Because I’m short doesn’t give me the right to stand at the back? Don’t you think it’s unfair? Well I do! [sobbing] But that was a long time ago, and I did got the chance to sneak up at the back anyway, trying to feel what is it like, standing at the end of the line [hehe pa feeling taas bah] and you know, do my thing, chika about anime, crushes and all before our adviser catches us giggling!

But tell you what, this is also the ground where I had my first encounter with Nisa, well, I didn’t noticed her right away, not until I got to know her better, and then I thought, “I like this girl, and I want her to be my friend”. Later I realized, she did treated and considered me as her friend as she was the only classmate who hugged me when our Vice Principal ordered me to transfer from section 6-Honesty to section 4, [isn’t it cute? ] I vaguely remember that day, I was shocked by the news and was touched by how Nisa paved farewell to me… [a warm hug.. of course! Lisod pod ug cold hug!! :D haha!]

Nisa/nisamee/sanimee is the artist of the group, she really draws well, and that’s one thing I like about her. She’s the one who inspired me to draw anime too, but up until now, my drawings are hopeless! Hehe… A sweet friend, very thoughtful, and a sweet sister too. I call her, unni [ Korean word for ate or big sister] or onee-chan [ a nihonggo for ate]

She has always been, way positive! I remember that day, sometime in my college life, I was so worried about one of my subjects, I was almost teary-eyed when I shared it to her [aww, you know me Nis, I’m a cry baby, tahilak nyahahah!] and you know what she did? She pulled a paper from her notebook and draw this:

saying that, this circle represents my whole life and that little tiny dot represents the problem that I have at the moment, she pointed out how insignificant that little tiny dot to make it a biiiiiig problem. She convinced me to cheer up and let me believe that it’s all going to be alright. Well,sadly, it didn't turned out right, but I still thank her for that advice.. i'll never gonna forget that.

The ever supportive friend, so patient to hear my churvablahs in life.. hehe even though it’s so late to talk about it… thank you nis! And yeah., sorry for that night, it won’t happen again, pwoHmise [cross finger !hehehe joke!]

Farrah --- The Storyteller

I first met Farrah June of 2005, sophomore years. I can’t really remember of a specific reason why we became friends, but, what I do remember was that, she was always talking and talking and talking! If my recollection was right, she was seated right in front of me [wait, am I right? Or left?] either way, what really marked her was the fact that when she talks, you just can’t help but listen and even get dragged by her stories as it has always been accompanied by her convincing facial expressions, movements, tones.. I mean it, she really is a storyteller! [has always been and will be] She shared almost about anything, most of it was stories about her encounters with her crushes, or some stories she made up. Yeah, there never is a dull moment with her, maybe that’s one reason we got along because even when were not really acquainted, she just acted like we’ve known each other for years! She just kept on sharing things that kept me giggling and laughing, while Nisa was just listening right next to me. Sharing stories between the three of us became an everyday scene. We got along so well, that we ate our lunch together, went to places and even exchange letters, and before we knew it, we were already closer than we thought, a bond that would then last for almost 7 years now.

Farrah is the ‘ate’ of the group [while I am the cry baby and Nisa will be the supportive buddy] Hehe.. I remember the day when I told her through text that I’m no longer single and you know how she reacted? according to her, the moment she read my text, she didn’t understand what she felt, or how to react, yes! an indescribable state, her hands and knees got shaky, she felt numb [tama bah far?], she even kind of felt like she was going to throw up [oh wait! when did the news of having a boyfriend makes a person wanna throw up? Farrah? Unsa ni, pasabta ko? Awh hahaha!!] She really got emotional about my news [sorry far.. L] cried and still in the moment of accepting the thought that a part of her had just been pulled out from her body [yup she views it that way]. I can’t blame her, Farrah is a type of person who really gives importance to everything and everyone around her, she would even keep a cut-out finger nail if that signifies something to her, how much more her very own friend.

The biggest revelation of all, as I’ve known her for years, believe me, she’s a one tough gurl you would ever met. She might be the bravest person to ever stand up and prove her point despite of a whole crowd, but, let her see some movies like Korean love stories, observe her, one moment she laughs and the next thing you know?, she’ll be crying like she had just lost her favorite pet, trust meh!

These are the people whom I’ve got along for several years now, the people who kept me sane… I hope we’d still be the way we are 82 years from now.. ^-^

So I guess that’s it!

How does Friendship mold you?

As the saying goes, no man is an island, I mean, who wants to be left alone? No one does! Except maybe for those loners? And definitely, I am not one of them! Nu-uh, no way! What’s the use of having Facebook if one doesn’t interact with people? More importantly, if one doesn’t have any friends at all? Fun and excitement wouldn’t be perfect if you’re doing things on your own, like, singing a karaoke alone? or maybe, going into some arcade alone? or worst! Trying some extreme sport adventure without anyone to go along with you, imagine getting into a rafting adventure alone? haha! Wouldn’t that be the most boring adventure anyone would have? Well, let’s just face it; having people around is literally a necessity as much as keeping some friends with you. They don’t just exist for you to have someone you can mingle with, or talk with, or share your sweetest encounter with your crush. People, particularly friends, exist to keep us sane, to let us feel we are accepted and treasured just the way we are. They are the family we’ve chosen to have; the people who have helped us mold ourselves into becoming who we are.

Friends help us become who we are through the different experiences we share with them; they are the ones who inspire us, who give us insights which would then help us open our doors to new ideas. They provide us the comfort we need especially when we’re totally down and unhappy. They are the people who would patiently listen to your sobs even when it’s super duper late for a conversation just for you to have someone to talk to talk to and let you feel you're not alone. They let you become who you really want to be without any criticism (just a little tease though! yeah!) [Note: this only apply to what we call "TRUE" friends, not the "other" type of friend, you know what I mean. Yes, the backstabbers! noo!!]

Friends keep us going! They give the most stupid suggestion for your problem and so you just end up laughing! and Voala! congratulations! you have just forgotten your problem (even just for a minute).
