Hope For Aidan

I recently donated one of my paintings to a great cause and fund raising event, Hope For Aidan. Please check out the Hope For Aidan website for more information regarding the silent auction that will be held this Thursday October 25th, 2012 at the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel. I am told that if you cannot show up in person on Thursday there will also be a phone number to text message for placing bids, which I'm sure you can find out more through their website contact information.

Below is a description from their website:

"Aidan is 8 years old and he has cerebral palsy. He also loves the water!

There will be a silent auction to raise money to pay for Aidan’s intensive swim program. Our goal is: $7,000 which will pay for private swim lessons (3 times/week), pool membership and associated equipment (such as a water wheelchair). We’ve seen great progress with Aidan’s swimming over the past year but it will still take another 2 to 3 years for Aidan to become completely independent in the water."

The workshop was run and taught by Sara Sniderhan, who I learned a lot from, and definitely gave me some things to think about in regards to my approaches to painting. Some Experiments in Oils

Sorry for the long delay between posts, its been a whirlwind of events through the last few weeks.

Below are a couple of studies created with water mixable oils on canvas. The first is my first attempt at using paint at a life drawing session, and the second was further exploration in painting in oils and application of colour.
