Happy new year everyone! I'm sorry about the lack of posts lately, the holiday season took me by storm and has not let up on my schedule until now.

After a two week layoff I went out to life drawing sessions at the Drake Hotel (this coming Tuesday is the last session of the summer) and Toronto School of Art this week to shake off the drawing rust and get back into it.

Getaway to Lions Head (Pt. 2)

Just a few photos to document our hike through the Bruce Trail while up in Lion's Head. Looking at the photo now and knowing that the storm in the photo would become a serious tornado threat further south, I wonder if we would have still wandered up to those escarpments. Luckily, we got an great hike and only had to pay the price of getting a little (a lot) soaked.

Highlights from Boston

Museum of Fine Art (MFA)

Chihuly Exhibit, its pretty amazing to see what someone can do with blown glass.

And the best part of visiting the MFA had to be discovering all the works by John Singer Sargent. The works ranged from pieces commissioned by the MFA and installed in the building to paintings in the galleries such as "Nude Study of Thomas E. McKeller" and "The Daughters of Edward Darley Boit". Below is the piece I liked the most.

Short Wonderland Vacation

I've been away for the last week and a half getting some R&R and exploring the two amazing cities of Boston and New York. Each city had tons of delicious food, crazy sights, and lots of art to take in. Once I have downloaded all my photos from my camera I'll be sure to upload some to provide the highlights of the trip in the next day or so.

For now, I'll leave you with the White Rabbit in Central Park. Discovering the sheer number of things to see and do in New York left me feeling a lot like the White Rabbit, there just wasn't enough time to see it all. Thankfully that feeling didn't stop me from enjoying what I did get to see.

Drawing away the pain

When things are crazy and hectic in life, its a beautiful thing to be able to find peace and comfort in something you love to do, in my case, life drawing.
