Hometter 7-in-1 truck set review (Tomoson)

2022-12-06T20:12:00.000-06:00

I received the Hometter 7-in-1 truck set, in exchange for honest review from Tomoson. With the set, you can make 7 trucks. I wanted it for my youngest, who likes to play with trucks. I had an interesting time, putting the bull dozer together. You definitely need patience. The instructions were photo-based, instead of text-instruction based. I struggled with one section, where you used black washers. I figured it out by counting the number of pieces needed.

I also recommend using ziplock bags to keep similar pieces together. I laid out the pieces needed for each instruction step out, then put it together, based on the picture. It took me over an hour to put the truck together. My youngest loved playing with the bull dozer. He even put down the phone and my tablet, at times, to play with the dozer.

I can't wait to put together a few more trucks. You can purchase the set, on Amazon, using the link above. The set is prime-eligible.

Safuciv Blue 64 GB MP3 player Review (Tomoson)

2022-09-10T16:12:00.000-05:00

Disclaimer: This post contains Amazon Affiliate links.

64 GB Blue mp3 player.

Arm holder, aux cord, head phones, and charging cord.

I received the 64 GB Blue Safuciiv MP3 Player, in exchange for honest review from Tomoson. The mp3 player comes with a carrying case; arm strap; SD card; charging cord; aux cord; and headphones.

Additional features include a radio; stop watch; eBook reader; and a recorder for the FM radio and your voice. Since I had the black MP3 player as well, the controls were a bit easier to use, the second time around.

To set it up, you may need to connect Bluetooth. You also need to set the radio presets. You will need to connect the headphones as an antenna.

Issues:

Once again, I had issues with the Bluetooth connecting to my phone and laptop. It took multiple searches and turning the Bluetooth off and on, to get the mp3 player to connect. Another issue was some radio channels had a bit of static in them. Some stations came in perfectly clear. Lady Gaga and paparazzi doesn't need the static lol.

The radio also does not play without the headphones connected.

The mp3 player is great for on-the-go, especially if your kids have your phone and you want to listen to music or read a book.

You can purchase the mp3 player, using the link above. The player is prime-eligible.

No love for cooking

2022-09-08T09:17:00.003-05:00

Disclaimer: This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links.

I lost my love for cooking. I don’t cook as much, especially since the pandemic started. I don’t buy as much meat or fresh veggies. Cans, frozen items, and pantry items have ruled the nest.

Aroma 20 cup multicooker. I got a similar one from Target. Slow cooker and Rice cooker in one :-) https://amzn.to/3Da7NWm

With meat, I used to buy a lot of it. Stock up the freezer with mostly meat and ice cream. Chicken, ground beef, ground turkey, fish, and pork chops, but then my oldest was caught trying to eat through the frozen fish and beef. I found teeth marks on the packages and stopped buying everything but chicken. I was buying 10 plus or more packs of chicken, each month, because it was the only thing he did not bite through. Chicken left little room for anything else. If I wanted pork or fish or beef, I had to hide it between or behind the packs of chicken. I don’t want to eat the same thing all the time.

With fresh veggies, my last apt did not keep veggies too long without them going bad. Either I had to cook them up fast enough or I had to throw them out within a week or so. My kids also did not help either. My youngest has eaten avocados, shell and all, and onions. He also loves fruit. He will eat a whole bunch of bananas, apples, or tangerines in one sitting. I started buying a small bunch of bananas or 1-2 apples or oranges, instead of a bag. My oldest ate a whole crock pot full of rice and beans, years ago, while everyone else was asleep and I had to cook again the next day.

My oldest also threw out multiple gallons of milk, down the sink, when my youngest brought them home from school. I already have been using powdered milk in cooking because of his behavior. I also had to hide knives and can goods for a while, along with can openers, because I woke up one night, with my oldest standing near my bed, with a can over my head and can opener in hand. Definitely glad he did not drop the can. For knives, he decided to cut up all the veggies at my mom’s old house.

Enter the pandemic, the kids are at home all the time. School and church were closed. No more walking and riding the bus because of my oldest son’s behavior. Brad would try to or would run into the road, with me trying to pull him back and keep my youngest, Kalen, in sight. Police have been called multiple times to get Brad to stay on the sidewalk. I had people offer us rides to get to where we were going, after they saw me struggling with Brad.

Back to the no love for cooking lol

Brad would stand over me, while I was cooking. If I moved to the sink, he would move to the sink. If I needed something out of the cabinet, he would move to the cabinet. I wanted freedom to move around my house and kitchen without bumping into a kid. Not to mention, Kalen was in the kitchen as well, because where I go, he goes.

Kalen may have been playing with my phone or tablet or playing with toys on the floor. Brad wanted to help season food, with or without my help, so seasonings temporarily moved to the top of the closet until needed. Brad would also try to add items to the crock or rice cooker, with or without my help. Another issue was he would stand over the rice cooker or crock pot, while food was cooking, not understanding the steam. Both kids would try to open the oven, while it was on. Stove knobs also got hidden when not in use. Kalen also would tear up sliced bread so I started using hamburger buns or tortillas for sandwiches. For crackers, he now only wants jelly on them, then eats the jelly and breaks the cracker on the floor.

I would sometimes make no yeast loaf bread or biscuits, maybe flat bread or dumplings (same recipe lol but sometimes I used broth instead of water). Next, Kalen threw eggs out of the fridge so I temporarily bought a 6 pack versus a 24 pack. I would hide the egg carton under bags of fresh veggies.

Kalen currently eats up the sour cream, yogurt, hummus, and cream cheese. He thinks it’s all cheese. I stopped buying yogurt. I put cream cheese blocks in the freezer until I needed them. I bought small containers of cream cheese spreads to use in cooking. Kalen likes ramen. I forgot what he did with them, but I moved from the squares to the cups. I definitely need a mini fridge for some staples.

I felt like I had to guard the kitchen, while cooking, even if I wanted to set it and forget it in a rice cooker or crock. I got tired of all the kitchen behaviors. I stopped cooking a lot of fave meals and sides. No more gravies. No more bread. Rice and veggies. Sometimes meat. Potatoes and other veggies. Sometimes meat. Maybe a salad or sandwich but they had to be bought and eaten, the day of.

I did learn how to make ice cream, butter, and cheese. I also stopped buying as much in bulk. If I don’t cook as much, I don’t need all this meat, butter, pasta, and potatoes. Kids still act up. My oldest, this weekend, threw the potatoes and avocados off the counters. Brad threw food out of the fridge and freezer. Still can’t find a bottle of ranch dressing. The unopened container of sour cream was in the sink. I had to move the potatoes and avos in the closet, until Brad went back to the group home. Brad also poured out milk on the counters and in the sink, plus chocolate syrup. Kalen also throws food out of the fridge, looking for what he wants.

I am glad my oldest is in a residential home because I can buy fresh milk again for cereal, even though someone poured out a lot of cereal on the counters and sink, this weekend.

I moved the can openers back in the kitchen. I moved the cans back into the living room on rolling carts. I didn’t like the carts taking up valuable walking space in the closet. Brad does not mess with the cans or can openers when he is here. The knives are still hidden. Some seasonings are back in the kitchen, while the rest are at the top of the closet, until the kitchen supplies are depleted.

Yet, I still don’t want to cook like I used to. I don’t want to stand over the stove or put food in the oven. I have used my oven in my new apt, 3x, since moving in. The stove has been used, but not as much. My youngest is picky. Some days, he may eat what I cook and some days, he wants fries or chips. He also still wants to eat up all the hummus, sour cream, and cream cheese. :-). I made some gravy for the first time in the new place, on the 31st. I cooked some whole potatoes in the slow cooker. I cooked a few thin chops. Maybe make a sandwich since I have hamburger buns.

Over the weekend, including Thursday, I cooked 4x. Brad ate a lot, including stealing his brother's bowl of food, before Kalen got a chance to eat one bite. Kalen still broke crackers and dumped noodles all over the floor after he was done with them. Brad threw noodles in the trash, after he was done with them, but then tried to pull them out later to eat them. This is my life. I do not enjoy cooking as much.

Safuciiv MP3 Player Review (Tomoson)

2022-08-25T13:29:00.000-05:00

Disclaimer: This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links.

I received the 32 gb Safuciiv MP3 Player, in exchange for honest review from Tomoson. The mp3 player comes with a carrying case; arm strap; SD card; charging cord; aux cord; and headphones. I was definitely surprised when I opened the box. I wanted it for on the go.

The player plays music well. I had no issues with that :-). Other features include a radio; stop watch; ebook reader; and a recorder for the FM radio and voice. It took me a minute to learn how to control the player (still learning). The instruction manual was torn by my youngest. The player also does not charge with my USB C to C cord, that goes to my power bank.

Issues:

I had issues with the Bluetooth connecting to my phone and laptop. It took a few searches to find both devices, as well as connect. I was able to put music on the mp3 player using a hard-wired connection. I also removed the SD card and placed it in my laptop to add music, either one song at a time or added a folder of songs. I am also struggling with the shuffle and repeat functions. The shuffle does work now. I also noticed some of the songs play in the same order, when I turn it on. Definitely have to add more music.

You can purchase the MP3 player, using the link above. The player is prime-eligible.

The Summer of Kalen

2022-07-27T11:33:00.000-05:00

It is the summer of Kalen. Last year, it was the summer of Brad. Some things have changed but it all remains the same. Wrote this as a writing sample for Cortena. I love writing and need to get back into it.

Summer of Brad

In 2020, the pandemic changed everything, including my oldest son's behavior. As soon as he realized, he wasn't going back to school, his behavior got worst. Brad stopped sleeping through the night. He started hitting me and his brother more. Brad started putting bigger holes in the walls, but I learned, with help from a poet named Rodney, how to fix the damage with sheetrock versus a wall patch.

Brad was breaking furniture, hitting walls, and hitting doors. He also learned how to escape the house, while I was distracted cooking, cleaning, or in the bathroom. Public meltdowns increased. I gave up walking through the neighborhood; catching the bus; and even going to the laundry room because his behavior was unpredictable. No more parent breaks.

Brad's behavior intensified after he threw a glass at me, while cleaning. He also bit me and drew blood, while we was waiting for my youngest's (Kalen) bus to arrive.

Another public meltdown gone wrong. I could not take it anymore and had to call the crisis line, multiple times, to calm me down. I called them in the past for my oldest, but they could not help him, like I wanted them to. Brad could never be admitted to a city psych center because of his severe autism and that he was not potty trained.

Eventually, during one of the calls, someone asked about his current psych. The answer put things into motion to place him in a group home, in another city, under his intellectual disability diagnosis, versus the Autism diagnosis. Brad has been placed for almost a year and is doing better.

I was given a massive depressive disorder, shortly after he was placed. I was on depression meds for a few months and sleep meds since. I am still tired and exhausted. I still need sleep.

Summer of Kalen

Enter the summer of Kalen. Sure, I can ride the bus again and walk the neighborhood again, but it comes with drama sometimes. Kalen will refuse to move, while we are walking. Just stop and plop down in the grass or sidewalk, bearing his weight down, making him hard to pick up, so I got a wagon to help move him in 2021.

The wagon does not stop him from screaming fall or I hurt, while moving, because he doesn't like ramps or when we have to go over a bump. He also does not like to nap. He has not taken a day nap since 2020. Kalen wakes up early and goes to bed late, even with prescription sleep meds and melatonin. It can be draining because Kalen is active and does not slow down until he goes to bed. He clings to me and wants to follow me around. I want to cook, clean, and do other things throughout the day, like find part-time, flexible work. I want to breathe.

Kalen is also hitting and kicking the walls and doors; throwing toys; throwing food; and hitting me when upset. Kalen is breaking things, such as a silicone cupcake pan, I use for bath bombs and shower jellies. Kalen also has days where he only wants to eat certain things, such as fries, chips, sour cream, or cream cheese, and won't touch anything I cook. I have issues getting him in and out of the tub, in addition to getting him to sleep in his bed through the night.

Deja Vu. It's happening again. I just want a release, a break. First day of school is weeks away. Still looking for additional work. Still need sleep. Still dealing with noise and destruction. Being a special needs parent is definitely not easy.

How do you invite people to your church

2022-04-17T12:32:00.001-05:00

How Do You Invite People to Your Church?

How do you invite people to your church? I thought of this question a few weeks ago, after a pastor and another person invited me to their churches.

I was at the store, looking for a few items, when he approached me with his business card. I asked why and he said he was trying to talk to me, but no really I'm a pastor. I want to invite you to my church. He failed the most important question when I asked if he had special needs kids and adult programs, but he said he would create one if he needs to.

Another trip to the 99 and I was approached by a man, while I was waiting for my Uber home. He asked if I had a church home and I said yes. I go to Houston’s First Baptist, Loop Campus. The man wondered why I went so far when his church was closer. I know of his church. I have been to a few of their community events, but I already knew they do not offer special needs programs.

My neighbor also invited me to his wife’s family's church, on Sunday, while I was heading to my church. He also wondered why I go so far to church. Apparently going an hour to church is too far, when people spend hours on road trips and going to and from work. His church also does not have special needs programming.

I started going to my church for one reason and one reason only. Brad. I am here because of Brad. Brad has been put out of churches since he was four years old. As soon as the choir starts moving and grooving, he starts jumping and screaming. You can scream for Jesus, but not when it comes to a toddler child. I am tired of the familiar tap on the shoulder, asking me to remove my child from the sanctuary.

My former church said they could not handle him because he had a massive scream fest, when he was 17. I was upset. I was sad because I had been looking for churches we could attend, once he was 18. I did not want to be church homeless. Many churches do not offer programming for special needs adults.

When the staff member called me to recommend Houston’s First, I checked my master list of churches I had compiled and Houston’s First did not make the list.

When I moved into my first apartment, in 2016, I knew I had to look for another church because my old church was not on the bus line and I was now living on the bus line. I also knew the church vans did not pick up in the new area, I lived. I started looking for and visiting churches in the area.

One church said they had special needs programming but they walked my kids around the building, while I was in the sermon. Another church--Brad had a massive meltdown and no one came to help. Once I got him calm, We walked back home. I had one church, where a member told me their church does not like kindles and my kindle keyboard in church. I bet they won’t like me taking notes on my laptop now. So I decided to go back to my old church, even if it meant, we caught a ride or an Uber. I knew our stay would end soon but I wanted familiarity. Visiting churches was hard work, mentally and physically.

I walked into Houston’s First, not knowing what to expect, but I felt the church had something special when I first walked in with my kids. I did not know what it was yet. My goal was if they truly accepted Brad and Kalen, I would join the church, even if the pastor and choir was bad. Turns out I love my pastor, the choir, everything.

The staff has been amazing. The staff has helped out in challenging situations and for that, I am truly appreciative. My family has a place to call home. We do not have to worry about being put out.

If I was inviting people to my church, I would say my church has a library and a bookstore, with amazing coffee selections. The prices are reasonable. Chips are .50. 20 mints for a dollar. The church also has an amazing cafeteria with good food, like avocado toast and breakfast croissants. We have a wide selection of events like Boots N Bling, the special needs prom and the monthly women's ministry events. We have VBS during the summer and Celebration during Christmas. Our church is biblically relevant and based. The praise and worship team gets you moving and grooving.

We are on the bus line. The church is across from a bus station.

Finally, we have programming for special needs kids and adults. If your child is 2 or 62, my church has a place for them. You have a church home. You do not have to be church homeless. You are welcomed with so much love.

Churches with Adult Special Needs Programming:

Houston’s First Baptist, Loop Campus. Houston’s First. Thru the Roof.
Grace Fellowship, Katy Texas
The Ark, Conroe Texas

If you know of any more, let me know and I will add them to my master list on Google maps.

Thank you. Happy Easter.

Church People Movie Review (Momentum Influencer Network)

2022-02-11T10:55:00.001-06:00

Many thanks to Collide Distribution for providing a sample of the product for this re view. Opinions are 100% my own and NOT influenced by monetary compensation.

I watched Church People, in exchange for honest review from Momentum Influencer Network. The first part came in patchy. I tried both the pc and kindle but it would not play smooth. I tried again on the pc and it worked.

The movie is about Guy Sides, ta youth pastor. Guy became known for a gimmick, but got tired of the gimmicks in church and wants to bring back the pure gospel in the church. His pastor, Skip Finney, is the king of gimmicks, and created an "interesting" gimmick for Good Friday, which doesn't go over well with Guy and Skip's daughter. The gimmick includes one of Guy's kids in the youth ministry, who recently gave his life to Christ.

Guy's manager, played by Donald Faison, is money crazy, and wants Guy to use more gimmicks.

Can Guy stop Skip, while also spreading the love of Christ. Is the pure gospel of Christ enough to bring people into church? Does the church have to rely on gimmicks to draw people in?

I loved the movie as the movie progressed. Definitely went through a range of emotions especially when the scene involved Pastor Skip. The ending----can't wait for you to see it.

You can rent or buy the movie on Prime Video, Google Play, Vudu, The Apple Store, and more. Church People is also available on DVD.

Tiger Rising Review (Momentum Influencer Network)

2022-02-09T17:02:00.002-06:00

Disclaimer: I received access to this movie, in exchange for honest review

I watched Tiger Rising, in exchange for honest review. The movie is about a little boy, Rob, whose mother has died. Rob and his father move to a hotel in a new area and Rob has to attend a new school. Discovering a tiger in the woods, helps open him up emotionally. He also meets a girl named Sistine (like the Sistine Chapel), who is also new to the area and school. Both are getting picked on by other students.

Official Synopsis:

Queen Latifah and Dennis Quaid star in this beloved tale based on the New York Times best-selling book by Kate DiCamillo. When 12-year-old Rob Horton (Christian Convery) discovers a caged tiger in the woods near his home, his imagination runs wild and life begins to change in the most unexpected ways. With the help of a wise and mysterious maid, Willie May (Queen Latifah) and the stubborn new girl in school (Madalen Mills), he navigates through childhood memories, heartache, and wondrous adventures in this heartwarming adaptation.

Rob definitely has an active imagination in the movie.

Queen Latifah plays a hotel maid. Katherine McPhee plays Rob's mom in flashbacks. Dennis Quaid plays Beauchamp, the angry owner of the hotel. Quaid is not as mean as he was in Goliath, playing Wade Blackwood. Real men do business in Tigers.

The movie was excellent. It definitely tugs on your heart strings. I definitely loved the aerial views of the trees.

Family discussion Guide:

You can watch Tiger Rising on Prime Video; Google Play, Vudu, and YouTube. You also can watch in a theater

Pure Flix offers clean, faith-based, family-friendly movies, shows, and documentaries.

First things first, I love the short episodes, which is great for my attention span. The show is about Anthem Lights navigating their way through stardom--from figuring out the algorithm to deciding what music to make.

Episode 8 focuses on Anthem Lights coming up with a new gimmick to attract new fans. Some of the ideas are interesting. Anthem Lights rival, The Handsome Knights, also starts their social media journey to become influencers.

Can't forget about the interesting song, Baby baby Baby Hey baby lol. I loved watching the series and can't wait until a new episode is released.

Heat Press DIY Mini Heat Press Review (Tomoson)

2022-01-02T19:14:00.003-06:00

I received the #HeatPressDIY mini heat press, in exchange for honest review from #Tomoson. I wanted this to help with a mask project, I started. I also started working on an backpack purse with transfer vinyl. I love exploring my creative side. Who knows what I can create next?

The mini heat press is great for for small and/or challenging projects. It also has an LED display, which shows both Fahrenheit and Celsius degrees. It also has a timer built in. The kit also comes with a spray bottle; a carrying case; and a heat-resistant foam mat.

This was my first time, using a heat press and I still have a lot to turn, like turning the temperature settings on, which I have struggled with, since I received it, but once it is on, I can work on my projects. I also like how the press is small and portable.

You can purchase the mini heat press, using the link above. New customers can save 10%, using code: HPDIY10. Have a great day.

2021 Reflection

2022-01-01T08:48:00.000-06:00

December 31, 2021

2020 brought a lot of new changes, but whoo that 2021 brought more changes. Behavioral changes. Anxiety. Massive depression. We have to move in 2022 because the complex is being sold to the city to build a pond. Lack of sleep. Stress. Crisis line.

Ice storm Texas. Pipes bursting. Kids lost their mattresses. Blackouts. No hot water for almost 3 days, last week.

On another note: I can go to church for both Sunday School and the Sermon again. I can ride the bus again. I can walk to the store or for fast food again. I haven't fixed a hole in the wall in a while. I don't have to rely on Uber and Lyft to get me around mostly. Completed a customer service experience job training course, through ClimbHire. 2 job interviews coming up. Pray for me and my sanity.

God has definitely brought me through another year.

Trazodone Induced Dreams: The mob

2021-12-21T22:19:00.002-06:00

December 21, 2021

No clue what was going on in this dream, last night. I was watching Addicted to Marriage; My 600 lb life; and Too Large before going to bed. I even stopped watching crime shows, especially anything on Discovery ID, before going to bed because the dreams can get weird. Nothing to do with gangsters and mobsters. Definitely confused the hell out of me. I seem to remember more dreams when they have people, I know in them.

Here is the parts, I remember.

I was at my grandma's old house, with a few friends and their kids. Me and one of the kids, went for a walk. The kid told me, that his mama said she didn't care if I got covid walking with him, but he didn't need to get it. I was upset. When we tried to walk back in the house, a mobster stopped us by aiming a gun in our face. I don't know if he was going to shoot us or not. He didn't after we told him, we wanted to go in the house and see our family. He was upset because his friends doesn't consider him family and let us go.

I went in the house to collect my kid but he wasn't there. No one knew where my child was. Apparently, I had left the house for a while. The friend was upset but I had a mob situation.

Then some way, some how, I left my kid with a friend, to run errands, but got chased by the mob. They was looking for someone but Im not sure who.

Another part:

The mob was after us in my grandma house. Me and a few relatives went to hide upstairs because it was more secure. I played dead and didn't get shot. It was hard because I still had to breath, while also scanning the room to see if everyone was ok.

Another Part:

I went over someone else's house and the gangsters came in the house, ransacking the place. I hide in the bathroom because of the secured door. But when other people came in the house, the door mysteriously disappeared and I could be seen.

Another Part:

Someone brought my grandma's house because they thought the family was dead, even though we was playing dead. Some of the family took on another identity. A tennis player figured out who one of us was because of an award.

One of my relatives got on tv and was talking about a tennis championship, they won as a kid. The other tennis player realized they was the opponent and got upset because they thought my relative had died.

The End: I hope I never have a dream like this again. I had strange dreams, like this before, but I haven't had them in a long time.

Trazodone-Induced Dreams: Missing the Bus.

2021-12-17T07:41:00.003-06:00

December 17, 2021

This was definitely one of the strangest dreams, I had, this week.

I had to take my youngest to school because he missed the school bus. I wasn't sure whether to take a rideshare or public transit to get him there. I went to sign him into the office, but there was not a late sign-in sheet. I had to bring Brad with me.

The lobby then turned into a high school reunion, where I was hugging and greeting old classmates. While I was dealing with Kalen, the group headed to the park (where did it come from) across the street from the school.

I also had to meet with the new nurse #4 to give her some meds for the month. Kalen was in the nurses office, as well. The nurse mixed his meds in with ranch powder mix and water. Kalen drunk the mix through a straw and loved it. I thought it was a strange way to dispense medication, but then again, it's Kalen and you have to get creative sometimes.

I walked back outside, where a 9th grader was bringing his brother to school. He wanted to ask a question to the secretary. Since his brother missed the bus, He also missed his bus to a field trip and wanted to know what to do next. The security guard did not want to hear the 9th graders question and wanted him to leave the school. I also was asked to leave when I tried to ask the same question.

Now, Brad was missing. Where was Brad? He was at the park with the high school reunion, jumping in the bounce house. I grabbed my kid and we headed to the bus stop. I had an appt and needed to head back home to take a bath, then catch the bus. Or do I catch an rideshare, even though I don't have enough money to do that, and head home and take a bath. Maybe just head to the appt, regardless of hygiene.

The public bus stop turned into my grandma's house, where I used to catch the school bus. I apparently also had some craft supplies, set up outside, and was grabbing some to take home with me. I also needed a truck to pack up the majority of the supplies to take home. I had rainbow glitter, shoe slime (whatever that is), and other bottles of colorful stuff. I then woke up to get Kalen ready for school.

Trazdone-Induced Dreams: Attack of the Ex

2021-12-12T09:44:00.002-06:00

December 12, 2021

I had my first Trazodone nightmare, two nights ago. An ex, who lives in another state, wanted me to testify for him, in court, saying he wasn't there, doing whatever he wasn't supposed to be doing. I live in Texas. He lives in GA. I also had an appointment or something, I was doing the same day. If the offense or defense lawyers did any research, they would realize, I wasn't in the state and I was busy at the time, but the ex was persistent.

He traveled to Texas to convince me to lie for him in court. He didn't care I would be locked up and away from the kids. One of which, he did not even ask about. He tried choking and strangling me. He tried dragging me onto the train tracks, while the train was coming. He tried to harm my niece. He was seriously angry, I would not lie for him and risk my freedom for someone, who does not care about me.

Both me and my niece tried to escape from him and thought we was free. Nope, he found out where we lived and banged on the door hard, shooting a gun in the air. The niece was able to escape through the window, outside to a small park, where our other relatives was. I wasn't able to squeeze all my belly through the window.

The small park had my cousin, Chad, who is in college; his grandmother (my great aunt, who passed away, a few years ago). The park had trees and the clouds was bright-white, like we was in Heaven or something.

A year of new old firsts

2021-12-07T09:08:00.001-06:00

2021: Just when you thought 2020 was interesting, meet 2021. A lot of things, have happened-some of which, I'm not ready to talk about, just yet. The past few months, things have gotten back to pre-covid, sort of normal. Some things--I needed other people to remind me to do again because I got used to not doing them--if that makes sense.

The Laundry Room

First, I thought I could use the laundry room again. My case manager assigned me a task to wash my bigger blankets in the laundry room. Last year, I had to stop using the laundry room because both of my kids would run off, while I am loading up clothes. Since the laundry rooms are in the middle of parking lots, this is not a good idea, so I stopped going. My apartment is within a few minutes walk of three laundry rooms.

but first, I needed a new laundry card. I let a neighbor use, my old card, and never got it back. Since I wasn't able to use the facilities, I wasn't too worried about asking for it back. I also been noticing the laundry room, I mostly used, has not been opened lately. I walked to the office to get a new card and was told, the machine did not have any cards. I had to wait for a new shipment to arrive.

I showed up again to ask about the cards and was told, the office is not ordering any new cards because of the sale of the complex. The staff also said they are not fixing any broke machines and some laundry rooms are permanently closed. We do not have to officially move until October 2022. How are residents supposed to do laundry? I have a portable washer (Thank you very much to the lovely lady, who helped me get one), but it only washes bigger items.

The spin side is too small for my bigger comforters. I guess they will be air-dried or I will use SudShare to launder them, when I have extra monies. Still can't find anyone, who knows how to fix the belts on my portable dryer. Maybe if I can get a job, I can just buy a new one.

The Walk Back to Kalen's School

I thought about this post, after taking my first bus ride and walk back to Kalen's school to drop off medication. I have been using my mom or niece or a rideshare to take me, since the covid-times began. I gave up riding the bus, also during the pandemic because of my oldest's eloping issues. I definitely was tired of chasing him; pulling him back from running into the road; and having police involvement.

The nurse needed meds. My oldest was not with me. My youngest was at school. 10 minute bus ride. 15-20 minute walk. Sonic, McDonalds, Burger King, and Wendy's are in the area so I can grab me some food, on the way back to the bus stop. I checked the bus app to see how many tickets, I had left, and hopped the bus.

The walk back felt different but some things remained the same. No sidewalks. No bus stop on the other side of the highway, so I don't have to navigate across the highway. I have been living in Greenspoint since 2018. I guess everything will change after Kalen goes to intermediate. 😂😂😂

Had to navigate around water, vehicles, and mud. The bridge from the bus stop, to the highway and school-also was wider and had new decorative pieces though. Finally, the bus stop needs seating, especially when I have waited up to an hour, to go back home, in the past. If you miss it, then you just have to stand and wait or sit on the ground. Maybe bring a folding chair with you (Good idea Stacie).

The Walk Back to McDonalds and Other Food Places

A Facebook Friend (Thank you Rain) reminded me, I can walk to Mcdonalds again. I haven't walked to McDonalds, in a while, because it is also an Autism trap. Don't need kids running off, while we wait to cross the highway. I can get some breakfast, after I put Kalen on the bus. I also have started walking back to Family Dollar; the local, non-cheap grocery store; plus the Jack in the Box and McDonalds near the mall, for the first time.

I thought the walk would take longer, but it took as long as walking to the highway McDonalds, which opened up new possibilities for me, if I wanted to walk to other stores and restaurants versus calling Uber Eats or Grubhub or Postmates. I have ordered many times from Montereys and Pollo Campero, over the years. Maybe I could get a part-time job in the area, provided the job offers flexible scheduling. I even walked home from the doctor, the other day, because I didn't feel like riding 2 busses, with a stop or two, to the .99 and Jack in the Box.

Riding the Bus again

I started back riding the bus again, even with kids. Brad even crossed the scary bridge to get to church, without walking off. I have done, a few focus groups, around Houston, to earn extra income. The pandemic has taught me, I need people. I may be an introvert but I need to socialize with other humans, besides my kids. Nothing like staying at home with semi-verbal kids, for 10 days, with no one else to talk to, besides people on the internet. I hope a shut down never happens again, but glad I have access to the crisis line.

2 Services at Church

I was happy when special needs re-opened back up, at church, last year, but we could only attend one service to allow more kids to attend. I love virtual Sunday School but there are more distractions at home--kids, kicking the walls and doors; asking for snacks; crawling all over me; kicking me in the face and neck. This year, we could attend both services, in person again. YAYYAYAYAYAYYAY. I was happy to see my people. Of course, I had a few setbacks and haven't been able to attend like I wanted to. Rain is a hinderance because I use a wagon for Kalen and he doesn't like rain on his head. Both me and Kalen had cold and congestion, which took us out for 2 weeks. Don't want to get other people sick.

Other Firsts:

Completed a customer service experience trainee program through ClimbHire. ClimbHire will also help me get a job.
Completed a healthy families virtual class through Avance Frameworks. They gave some nice incentives for completion.
Of course, I was diagnosed with depression, in August, and now taking Trazodone and Lexapro.

Thank you and have a blessed day

Trazadone-Induced Dreams: The Voice and Truth of God.

2021-12-07T07:45:00.002-06:00

12/7/2021

Last Night, I fell asleep watching Hoarders, between 10 and 11 pm, CST. I was super tired of completing a project for a class in software development, I'm taking. I took my Trazodone (50mg) earlier plus some CBD for sleep, because I really needed to sleep.

Eventually, I had a dream, a dream, not like any other dream, because they are Trazadone-induced. I had strange and vivid dreams, in the past, but none like these.

I was dreaming about the Masked Singer. The judges was Tim Allen, some woman, and Dick Van Dyke. It was time for a singer, to be unmasked, and one of her clues, was she was the voice of God.

This lead Dick van Dyke and Tim Allen to go into a long monologue about the voice and truth of our heavenly father. It wasn't too preachy. They included bible verses. The audience was enthralled and wasn't offended.

Once the monologue was finished, the singer with the deep voice of God, was revealed, and it was Eartha Kitt, who sung a short song, and then went for coffee in the sound booth.

When I woke up, David Jeremiah was on A&E, discussing the truth of God. I watched a bit of him and Joyce Meyer before passing back out.

I do wish my oldest was more verbal. Brad also takes Trazadone. This may explain his screaming and laughing in his sleep.

The Wonder of Creation by Louie Giglio Review (Momentum Influencer Network).

Disclaimer: This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links.

Many thanks to HarperCollins Christian Publishing for providing this product/product information for review. Opinions are 100% my own. I did receive the product in exchange for this review and post.

The wonder of creation

I read the Wonder of Creation, by Louie Giglio, in exchange for honest review from the Momentum Influencer Network. The book is a children's devotional book, with over 100 devotionals. I received a hardback copy.

The book features illustrations and photography. Each devotional also features a scientific fact or an activity for kids to explore their faith; a short bible verse, and a prayer. The book also can be incorporated into a homeschool STEM curriculum or bedtime reading. The scientific facts include info about space, Earth, animals, and people. Giglio does provide, on page 5, the page numbers for each of the facts.

I wanted this to be able to spread the love of God to my kids. With Kalen especially, books needs a lot of pictures with minimal words. He likes pointing to the pics and identifying what's in the pic, either saying the actual word or asking, "What's that?". With Brad, things also need to be short and simple.

The book is easy to read. It also comes with a built-in ribbon bookmark.

The book is available in Kindle, Audiobook, and Hardback format.

Sudshare Review

2021-11-26T14:10:00.003-06:00

Disclaimer: I received a promo code to test out the service.

I reviewed Sudshare, in exchange for honest review. Sudshare is a laundry pick-up and delivery service. I had seen similar services in the area, for the past year.

What made me interested in Sudshare:

I have a portable washer, which is great for washing the majority of my clothes, but spinning the excess water out, is another issue. With my comforters and blankets, the water has to be squeezed out or drip dried, in the bathroom, until I can place them on my dryer racks. (I had a portable dryer, but it ran into issues, so I bought dryer racks from Wal-Mart. I was using the laundry room until the pandemic happened.)

I was reminded, a few weeks ago, by my case manager, I can use the laundry room again to wash and dry my clothes, especially blankets. Yes, I went to the store and got some cash back with a grocery order. I walked into the office to buy a new card and load it (gave the last one to my neighbor. I wasn't using it anyway). I was told by the staff, the laundry machine has no cards available and to come back in a few days, when they have more.

I came back, a few days later, to find out the complex has no plans to re-load the laundry card machine. They are also not fixing any broken washers and dryers because the complex has been sold to the city to build a pond. Some laundry rooms have been permanently locked. We don't have to move until October 2022, but that is still a long time to be without a washer or dryer in the complex. The complex has 700 units and at least 4 laundry rooms, within a 5 minute walk of me. What about the other residents too?

I need a way to wash my blankets and comforters. I also may need a break from laundry for the week because I am overwhelmed. Enter Sudshare.

You can download the app and schedule someone to come pick up, wash, dry, fold, and bring back your laundry. Laundry is $1 per pound with $20 minimum. If you have a small load, you still will be charged $20.

Comforters and puffier items are charged a bit more per item.

You also can tip the sudster, within 48 hours, who provided a valuable service.

Next, communication. You can communicate with your Sudster, once they select your order. Communication is continued until the order is delivered. Then, you need to contact the company with any issues.

Extra service:

You can include special instructions in the app, such as using a special detergent (must provide) or fabric softener (must provide) or hangers (must provide).

The app is available on Google Play and the Apple Store.

I used the service twice--one with the promo code and one with my own money. I loved both Angela and Reginald. Laundry was brought back the same day with Angela and the next day with Reginald. Since the clothes was already folded, it made it easy to put the clothes up quicker, before my kids messed over them.

Trazadone Induced Dream. 11/21/2021

2021-11-21T22:03:00.003-06:00

I have had a lot of strange dreams since I have been taking Trazodone for sleep, for the past month or so. Last night's dream really stood out.

Man meets woman

A man meets a woman, who owns an apartment building, by squatting in an apartment, once occupied by her deceased son, and would not leave. He notices the apartment sign, on the sidewalk, steals the sign, and moves into the apartment.

Fast forward to man and woman, living as a couple, on separate floors and separate beds. She slept downstairs and he slept upstairs. They was fussing from both of their beds, and his mom stepped in and asked why they always fought. The mom told the son, he shouldn't have squatted in the woman's son's apartment.

This proceeds to a fight where the woman is telling the man, he is selfish, always thinking about his self. She shows him, her calender of things, she has to do, because he never showed any interested. She stopped placing her tasks on the family calendar because of his lack of interest.

Making of the Band

A girl group is forming, with a girl, resembling, Nicole Byers, as the lead. The group can sing but lacks stage performance. Jenna Van Oy is the group's performance coach and trains them, while they are live on stage, in front of fans, cheering them on. Nicole #2 tries complicated dance moves, failing multiple times, and even fell into the audience. Jenna feels the live tries will make for a better band.

Definitely will post more dreams, provided I remember them :-)

God with Us: A journey home review (Momentum Influencer Network)

2021-11-21T21:48:00.001-06:00

Disclaimer: This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links.

I read God with Us, a journey home, by Jeremy Pierre, in exchange for honest review from the Momentum Influencer Network. I received a paperback copy.

The book is also available in Kindle and Audible versions on Amazon.

The book is a children's book, which teaches kids, Earth is not our home, Heaven is. The story is told from the perspective of two, unnamed, angels. The book chose not to give the angels names because the main character of the story--the book, and in real life, is Jesus.

The book is written in a poem, like, narrative format. Each chapter focuses on a different bible story, from Genesis to Revelation. The chapters are quick reads, great for kids, who may not have the best attention spans, like my kids.

Kalen loves books, with few words and a lot of pictures. He likes calling out things in the pictures. I can read a chapter and show him the pics before he goes back to Youtubing a kitchen skit. I can teach him about God, for those few moments.

You can purchase the book, using the link above. The book is prime-eligible.

Twin Tales: Alike and Different Book Review (iRead Book Tours)

2021-11-02T13:55:00.001-05:00

Disclaimer: This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links.

I received Twin Tales, Alike and Different, in exchange for honest review from iRead Book Tours. The book was written by Brielle and Nadia Dupervi.

My Review:

First, the book has simple language and amazing illustrations. The book tells the story of Alexia and Denise, who are twin, African-American, girls. They love to play and they love their family, but they are not alike, they are different. They may share the same face, but they have different skills and abilities.

As a special needs parent, I definitely understand. My kids are 20 and 10. They share five diagnoses, including severe autism, but they are so different. Each kid has their own skills and abilities. My oldest loves to eat; watch youtube; and play video games. My oldest doesn't like sour cream or corn chips, unless it is mixed into something else. He doesn't like bananas. He also doesn't eat most sweets, but he loves ice cream, sour gummies, and oreos. Brad definitely doesn't like the biscuit at Mcdonalds and Jack in the box.

My youngest is severe autism but he is more mentally advanced, age wise. He was delayed in everything, but made significant progress over the years. When it comes to food, Kalen is more picky. He also doesn't like the biscuits at Mcdonalds and Jack in the box, but he loves chicken, fries, chips, and sweets. He loves ice cream, chocolates, some cookies. He also will play with blocks, cars, and his kitchen playset, while my oldest never really took to toys. My oldest does like simple toys like blocks and other similar stacking toys.

You can purchase the book, in hardback or paperback, using the link above. The book is prime eligible. The book is also available on Kindle Unlimited. You can read more about Twin Tales below and check out other bloggers on the book tour.

Thank you

Stacie

Photo Wall Pink Horizon Canvas Print Review

2021-06-09T20:29:00.000-05:00

I received a Photo Wall, canvas print, in exchange for honest review. I had reviewed for them before and they asked me to review again.

This print is called Pink Horizon. I loved the pink sky, the rocks, and the water. I also favorited, a few more prints, for the future, such as small dock and lake and sunny day. :-)

The print does come with a unassembled frame. Please have enough room to assemble the frame.

I chose a bigger print, this year, and just found a folding table for assembly. You may need two people for bigger, canvas prints. I had a few issues with screwing in the corners, in addition to hanging the print because of the size, but I got it hung on my bedroom wall.

Use code sdwperfectchaos25 to save 25% on any print within the next 2 months.

JoyBos Jewelry Organizer Review (Tomoson)

2021-06-09T19:42:00.011-05:00

Disclaimer: This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links.

I received the JoyBos Jewelry Organizer, in exchange for honest review from Tomoson. I wanted the organizer to help me organize my studs and earrings better. They are mixed between multiple bags and a smaller organizer. The jewelry organizer also has slots for necklaces and chains, at the top.

In total, the jewelry organizer has 18 slots for necklaces; 63 earring holes; and 90 stud holes.

Joybos designed the organizer, like a 4-panel organizer. It opens up, on hinges to reveal 3 panels for jewelry and a mirror panel. The organizer is great for finding your earrings without rummaging through a few bags, like I do sometimes. The storage also helps keep out dust and other debris.

What didn't work was hanging my hoops and jewelry, with a little bulk to them, such as these, I got from Myvipon/Amazon.

DongMing Artificial Crystal Heart Necklace and Earrings

The organizer did not close with those types of jewelry. It also didn't work with my earrings with longer stems, such as these.

Punk stud earrings, I got from Amazon. The listing is no longer available.

The organizer is available in green and white. The jewelry organizer is prime-eligible.

Joyou Eye Massager Review (Tomoson)

2021-05-21T20:28:00.006-05:00

Disclaimer: This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links.

I received the Juyou Eye Massager, in exchange for honest review from Tomoson. I wanted the massager to help me relax at night, after the kids go to sleep. Being a special needs parent is stressful and the massager helps me relax.

The massager, first, has blue tooth technology, so you can stream your music. I connected the massager to my phone, kindle, and computer. The massager also has heat, air, pressure, and vibration. The massager does fold to fit into the carrying case.

Next, the eye massager has five different massage modes--integrated, clear, sleeping, vitality, and smartmode. Integrated combines heat, pressure, blue tooth, air, and vibration, while sleeping mode has no music. You can learn more about the modes with the manual.

The heat temp ranges from 104 to 107 degrees Fahrenheit.

The massager comes in white and wood grain styles. You can charge the device with a micro a/b charger (included with the massager). The massager is prime-eligible.
