Our lives are works of art, paintings that are made to be shared, pictures that are meant to be painted. Whether you believe you are a painter or not does not matter, as we go along, we all paint a picture.

I believe that as children, we are all like an empty canvas. Next to us is a box of paints & oils. There are all kinds of different colors, which will be used to paint a picture on this canvas. This picture to be painted will become our lives. Now as we grow, we can paint a beautiful picture, something wonderful for us to look at that makes us feel good, inspires us, helps us smile, and we can share this picture. Some people choose not to use their colors, painting something dark, hiding the picture, not only from themselves, but from anyone else because they don’t like the picture they have painted. And don’t believe that they can paint a better one. Some people pretend that they have stopped painting this picture, and at this point, without them actually realizing it, the picture is still being painted.

Most children, if not all, enjoy using colors. As we start getting older, we pick and choose our favorite colors & begin to work with them a little more. Some use these colors for good, others for bad, and there are many distractions along the way. As our paintings (our lives) come together, people look at our pictures we are painting, and tell us what we should change to make them better. What we should change about the picture, what is wrong with it, what is right with it, how wonderful it is, how terrible it is…etc. And taking in instructions from others can distract us & confuse us from painting our own pictures. From living our own lives. It is good to take in all the criticism, however when it comes to the painting itself, a decision to change, or alter the picture with different colors, whatever it may be, should be made by the person who is painting it. All the criticism confuses some people into thinking that there is something wrong with their painting, when in reality there is nothing wrong with the painting at all.

When it comes to paintings, every one is different. When it comes to people, everyone is different. Knowing what to change about your painting is a responsibility that we must all hold ourselves accountable for. Before you ask someone else how they feel about your painting, ask yourself how you feel about it. Before you make any changes to your painting, step back and look at it with your own eyes. Chances are, you know what to do. The changes that we need to make in our paintings may be the changes we need to make in ourselves. And in the gallery of life, some paintings are more colorful than others. I look forward to sharing my painting with whoever I can. Interview With Grandma...

I would like to introduce you to my Grandma.
She has been one of the biggest influences in my life.
When I'm feeling down, or questioning anything...
I think of her and things always come together.
She carries with her a glow... an ora, that radiates LOVE
wherever she goes & whoever she comes in contact with.
When I was younger, I used to get mad at the other kids for
calling her Grandma...lol As I have grown older, I understand
now why everyone did and decided to put this together to share just how Wonderful She Is with whoever I can.

So here is a little interview I did with one of the most
magical and loving people I have ever known. My Grandma.

Favorite Flower: "Gerber Daisy"

Favorite Color: “pink or purple, lavender, not purple purple.”

Favorite Food: “Greek salad, ribs, and baked potatoes!”

Loaded? “Oh Yes!”

Favorite Animal: “Elephant”

Why do you like elephants so much?

“Because they have good memories, and are very smart! But they are scared to death of mice! Just petrified when they see a mouse!”

So if you were a mouse, would you scare an elephant?

“I don’t know… I probably would anyway.”

What do you want to be when you grow up?

“When I was younger, I wanted to be a truck driver! On a 16 wheeler, or an 18 wheeler.”

How did you meet Grandpa?

“I was working in a little café in Harrington Kansas. Your Grandpa (Alfred W. Spaulding) came in a few times & built up enough courage to ask me out.”

Did he take you on a date?

“I think we went rollerskating.” (laughs…)

How long were you two married before he passed away?

“For 36 years… I will be with him again when I go.”

What was your favorite thing to do as a kid?

“Scrub floors, and milk cows…lol I liked milking the cows because it would bring all the cats around. I used to ride this old bike that the neighbors gave me. It had no tires, so I rode it with just the rims.”

What are some things that make you happy?

“Working in the garden, growing and picking vegetables. I love to read… Still do.

Have you ever farted in the grocery store?

“Oh Dear! Yes. (smiles…) I would usually try to find an empty aisle out of consideration. Me and my friend Jean would let it go at the checkstand and look around like we didn’t know who did it.” (giggles…)

Do you think parents should spank their kids?

“Yes! Look at what has happened to all these kids nowdays… They have all been spoiled rotten! I used to spank you kids when you needed it! When you kids were younger, you used to go playing with my flowers… And I would say “If you kids want to play with flowers, I have some over there by the fireplace.” But those weren’t flowers, they were cactus! That’s how I kept you away from my flowers!” (giggles…)

What do you think Heaven looks like?

“I don’t know… And I don’t think anyone does for sure. God is looking down at the mess we have created, and I don’t know if it gives him a headache, or a bellyache.”

What can people do to make their lives better?

“Trust in God & be honest.”

This morning I looked at this guy while I was waiting in line for my coffee... He said "What are you looking at!" All pissy... So I said "I'm looking at you because my eyes work!
If you didn't want anyone to see you then you should have stayed home! Look around... All these people can see you!"

When he calmed down, I managed to talk him into buying some avon from me which was convieniently located in my fanny pack! As he left, I said "See you later Nancy!" He turned around and smiled. Then I said "What are you looking at?!!" He smiled again! His eyes were lit up from all the eyeliner he put on in the bathroom!

If You Are Angry, It Is Your Own Fault! Don't Go Taking It Out On Other People Because You Can't Deal With It Yourself! Be Happy! Or Go Back To Bed!
