This is a prove that using free domain from free hosting such as 000webhost.com also can produce good page rank for your site. My home and garden site now PR 4 with targeted sub pages for keyword planting grass seed and rubber seal has a PR 3. This is a good news for me that can't afford paid hosting services.

After this I need to produce more content for my site and optimize each keyword. All the best.

note: I think my site only 1 month old, hope didn't get google sandbox for quick PR given..

I'm too buzy with daily life and sometimes I thought that I didn't suit to be a blogger. My other site akublogger.com has been parked on sedo.com because my free hosting, meekhost.com was down.

I had created a few wordpress blog using other free hosting. Right now my account on profusehost.com and 000webhost.com still active. I already mention that I'm not suit to be a blogger because I can't dedicated all my days for updating my blog. I guess I need other ways and that is building static website using wordpress platform.

I'm followed Jimkarter.com method for his case study on his echemotherapy.com site. So I tried to implement his ways on my site. I will build my site step by step and I already done the site layout and a few post already written there.

My experiment site was home-garden.net78.net and I will try rank this site for "planting grass seed" and "rubber seal" keyword. Hope all will run smoothly. All the best.

Keywords with highest cost per click

Above list is highest cost per click for the keywords. Do you have any site that focus on above keywords to gain highest payout? The major problems is you compete with other big companies that offer big money for SEO on their site. You are good enough if get listed in first page on Google or Yahoo!.

I'm still configure how I gonna do this, maybe start with less competitive keywords but I will try with the highest CPC keywords first.

It is essential to specific you keyword target in order to get your site page in top position. With this I had done some SEO for my new blog article title "15 standalone blogging platform other than Wordpress". My target keyword was "standalone blogging platform".

On images above you can see that my article page was on third position, below well-known blogger Darren Rowse,problogger.net author.

This article just publish on 27 July but it get indexed faster than the home page of akublogger! To get that result, I just get backlink on 2 blogs and one directory.

Do you had any similar success for your page?

Yeahoo.. It's takes a week for me to configure this site. I had faced a lot of trouble such as NameCheap can't accept my debit card and paypal account and this lead me to use GoDaddy as my domain registar. So far it's okay just it takes one day to update my dns server when I want to change my host.

I had change my hosting for my wordpress blog from bluehost (ftp account that I win at third place) to MeekHost - Free FFMPEG Hosting Packages. The reason of migration was I was not fully in control in that ftp account e.g I can't change password for my database because it was part of someone (contest staff) hosting account. Meekhost is free hosting that require 20 post per month to maintain the hosting package. This is something that I afford to do and their cpanel was great and better than demo that I had seen on Hostgator site, without paying anything! Their support is great too when I was in trouble to configure my site. The great thing about this hosting it supporting FFMPEG mean you can run a youtube clone site. I guess I will use this feature on my addon domain for akublogger.com soon.

There is no content at this time for akublogger.com because I'm still want to optimize it with some useful plugin and nice wordpress themes. Right now I'm still configure my plugins and theme for akublogger.com and currently my plugins was all in one seo pack, duplicate content cure, google sitemap generator, nofollow link in post, rb internal link, seo-image, seo-slugs, wordpress automatic update, robots meta, and wordpress stats. I not yet activate all of the plugin, I just read something good about it and just download it. Thanks for 15 most under utilized plugins for SEO posted by Yan - Blog For Beginners.

Currently I just installed two themes for akublogger.com and it was Ikarus themes(recently used)and another one was structure theme.

So there is a lot thing need to be done in order to make this better site. I had read once interesting post title "Is Your Blog Ready?" from David Shaw - Protycoon and this give me an idea on process that need to be done for new blog.

How about your first blog/site building process experienced? Please share with me.

Recently, i had create a wordpress blog using co.cc free domain and free hosting, this mean I did not pay anything for those. At the same time, a few idea was pop up in my mind about doing some installation services for wordpress by include this free domain and hosting.

Maybe I can promote it to anyone who want to try blogging using wordpress but do not know how to install it or find free domain and hosting for wordpress installation. So, how much can I charge for my work? $10 or $5? Or maybe less?

This work including:

1)New email set up for host and domain.
2)Free co.cc domain (or maybe other free domain such as uni.cc|tl.my|co.nr)
3)Free hosting
4)Wordpress Installation (maybe add some free theme and usefull plugin)

So, do you think this can attract newbie|beginner to hire me to do the job? How much do you think it worth?

Struggle To Find Host

Right I try to find free hosting to host my new domain because my other host that I win recently in Belajar SEO contest and you can see the prize that I quote below:

3) Third winner will get RM40 cash, 30% discount price for Ebook TeknikSEO and 1 free account ftp (5GB Space + Unmetered bandwidth + 1 Mysql db).

I had problem with that ftp account because I am not the admin for the database so I can't change it data. This is not secure enough for me and I am sure after one year I need to move out to other host so this is not reliable for me because I do not want to much hassle later on. Because of my budget, for start I just use free hosting first and after my site is stable maybe I will upgrade it too paid.

Recently I had tried to create a free host using 1sthost.org and it is quite easy to sign up and use it cpanel plus I got co.cc domain instally with host installation. But I guess co.cc is not quite good for SEO because it has some frame that prevent GoogleBot to access the website.

You can try to log in to the dashboard at sciencegto.co.cc by using username "demo" and password "demo". As you can see at the dashboard, there is no incoming link from other site such as wordpress development blog and wordpress news. So you can be sure that this kind of site is hard to get indexed.

Another thing about this free host is it has a banner at the bottom of page and I'm quite surprise about it because I had use another similar host but never put the banner at the bottom of website. I think it is still okay because it need to be scroll down to see the banner and it is quite hidden too.

So what is you comment about this kind of site?

Yes, if the site had give the response for the previous comment.

No, when I click on submit button after write long comment and suddenly my comment not show up and be considered as spam.

Two sentences above was my answer and what about you?

Usually I love to visit every blog when I had spare time and give a comment to any post that give me an interest. However, this can quite annoying when you found that your very long comment not show up as it is never been type. When you want to click back button your last comment on the box is empty and I'm sure you don't want to type it anymore.

That's why I usually try to comment shorter for first visit someone blog to see how their comment box function. And I'm surely don't visit it again when see it not accept my comment even thought it is totally not spam comment.

At last, I'm using GoDaddy as my domain registrar. Previously, I had mention I want to use NameCheap as my domain registrar but they do not want to accept my debit card and paypal. So I had change my mind and choose Godaddy because I had read Shoemoney post and he mention that he is using GoDaddy for domain purchased.

So, NameCheap should not make payment process to become very complicated because this can make another curious customer ran away.

My first domain ever, AkuBlogger.com were purchased from GoDaddy. At time this I'm still struggle to create my email from this domain. Apparently, access to GoDaddy site quite slow and don't know why, maybe my internet line was not fast but I had try to surf other site and it is fine.

I can choose to register my domain in my own country but in my opinion, it maybe will slow down the access page from outside country especially from US, India and other non-asia continent.

I knew there a lot complaint about GoDaddy and there are domain name NoDaddy were created to dedicate all the complaint about GoDaddy. So I hope I will not face trouble here with GoDaddy because I just use them as domain registrar and using bluehost as hosting(3rd prize).

I don't have much time to survey other domain registar because my contest organizer want me to give him domain name to set the DNS of hosting server.

So, do you have any opinion about GoDaddy as domain registrar?

Worst Web Host Experience?

I'm searching a new domain registrar for my new site but apparently, there a lot of complaint about famous web host that giving bad support and services to their client.

(1) Netfirms

Complaint #1

NetFirms has a policy of suspending the websites based on unverified complaints. For example, I can send them an email saying that some web site is using my copyrighted logo, and they are going nuke the site without either verifying the claim or talking to the owner of the website. Their unsuspension procedure is even more bizarre -- they actually DELETE the website content (including databases and logs) and request that you'd recreate it without "offending content". You are guilty by default and get no chance to rebuttal the accusations. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Complaint #2

I am facing same problems with Netfirms. They used to be good 4 years ago, but it seems that happened to them what happens to some companies when they grow too fast. Now they have a horrible service. I have been using Netfirms for years. I used to recommend it to my customers (what a shame). I hope they forgive me now. Netfirms says you have 10 GB of bandwidth, and with 5 users visiting my web portal, their MySQL server goes down. It is horrible, and the worst thing is to contact their technical support; it is terrible. They do not give follow-up. They send you an email asking you to reply to confirm your request, but guess what? they never answer your email. My site was down for a while and they apparently tried to fix it, but they never did. Their MySQL server is unreliable. I will not use or recommend their service ever again.

So today 3 days later and 6 replies later they dont do that. It is not a specific statement this later one???

Well the story do not finish here. I add 2 more replies to the ticket providing them with all the information about the issue. And my big surprise comes when i read the ticket response (19 hours later), response says:

Well in my planet "All of the requested has been completed" means problems solved, all of them. Solved and tested by the way, because if you dont test it you arent sure is solved. But possibble im some ET.

I check my control panel and now even my main domain or cpanel works... jejeje. Now im worst. I have no other chioce than understand and reply back. AGAIN. I write in teh past saying that my account was corrupted by the backup restoration, and as i can see it my ticket was read by a human being in "blind automated mode". He or she dont take the propper time to read, analize, correct and test what im saying in my tickets. Only read the first lines jump fast to do something and reply back saying all was solved... jejjeej what a joke. This can be a minnor mistake in a hosting company with a 1 hour average response ticket system, BUT NO IF YOU TAKE 14 OR MORE HOURS TO ANSWER BACK. if you make a mistake wich such delay response time THE CUSTOMER LOOSE A COMPLETE DAY OF WORK OR BUSSINESS.

(3) GoDaddy

Complaint #1

Godaddy should stick to what they know best, being a domain registar.

They have 24/7 support but no one I have ever talked to with maybe one or two exceptions have a clue as to how to resolve a problem.

Their Shared Hosting:

If you have a basic website that is just a website, i.e. doesn't use or run scripts or is not php/asp/database driven, a basic html site you probably will not have any problems but if not Godaddy has so many things disabled because it is "Shared Hosting." The list is too long to document these things here but take my word for it; things that are commonly allowed in any shared hosting environment I have ever used are simply not available in their shared hosting environment. They did not even have cronjobs avail for shared hosting useres until recently.

Virtual Dedicated Server:

I switched to a Virtual Dedicated Server with Godaddy (more money). They told me that support for a VDS was limited which really was not the truth, it is not limited is doesn't exist.

I needed to access sites on the server by IP. I had their simple control panel and they said I needed to upgrade to Plesk to do it. I did (more money) to find out that it can not be done on a Virtual Server because it also is "shared".

I spent a week trying to setup a new database server. There were many trouble tickets and conversations with support, they said it could be done and if I didn't know how to do it I needed to pay their helping hands support team to do it at a rate of $75 per half hour. I refused and in the end I found out that it could not be done without adding software going into a clustering environment (more money)

I could fill this page with problems I have had with them and the non-existant support who can not or will not answer even the most basic questions. I have administered servers for several years and know what I am doing so when godaddy told me that if I didn't know what I was doing to pay the money or hire someone to administer the server who did needless to say I was to say the least quite angry.

Moral of the story - DO NOT HOST WITH GODADDY!!

(4) Namecheap

Praise #1

My first (and so far, only) domain has been registered with them, and I haven't faced any problems in the close to one year that I've been with them.
The domain resolved quick enough and the change in nameservers also didn't take too long. Their promise of free whoisguard for the first year was good, and my whois is still being protected right now (offer will get over this may, when I have to renew my domain)
Overall, I'm going to rate it 4 because I haven't ever had any problems with them, but at the same time, I've never had to log in very often or make many changes, etc etc.

Praise #2

I love NameCheap.com. All of my 6 domains are registered through them. Their domain name market is good for those who are in the speculation business (I thought I was until I realized that I had accidentally done some cyber-squatting instead... Now I'm trying to get rid of them before MS sends me an order to turn them over Tongue).

Domains are a little pricey at $9 for a .com/.net/.org but .info prices are decent and they accept PayPal.

I found complaint about Netfirms, GoDaddy, and HostGator but none at NameCheap when using their site name and "worst" keyword. E.g "Netfirms|GoDaddy|Hostgator|Namecheap" Worst?

So, from all the web host listed above I can see that only NameCheap that has good reputation. I think I will choose NameCheap, that depend on how 'cheap' the package be..

So do you have different view for above hosting company? Or do you want to add more worst web host that you had experienced. Please share here.

Belajar SEO talk about Comment Relish

I'm sure there are some SEO blogger who didn't use this plugin because they think it would decreases their Belajar readership. However, Belajar SEO disagree because for my own experience, when I had visited a new site for a first time, I don't really remember the last Belajar SEO blog that I had visited.

This is because I'm usually jump from another SEO blog to another Belajar blog fast. So, one way that can make me remember those blog when I check my email and got a "thank you" message. For a first time Belajar SEO visitor, this can make my first visit feel more appreciated and motivate me to become a loyal reader.

People usually don't really care whether it was auto or manual responder, just they hate when there a too much responder messages in their inbox. It is still okay although Comment Relish look like desperate attempt to promote the blog as long it is not SPAM. Comment Relish is way better than spam. In my opinion, this give best first impression because it give our first reader an appreciation message via private messages. Maybe a lot people is not agree but for Belajar SEO, because I am a visitor and reader too, agree with how useful it was for Belajar SEO contest.

But, how about you?

Have you read my recent post, "create your own site"? This post was about how the beginner can create their simple website by following the step by step that I had showed in that post.

I had reason to write such post and the reason is I was trying to rank this Belajar SEO blog for another keyword. This is an experiment to me and it's work!

Because some of my post was about create own site then I optimize "cara bina website" keyword. Cara bina website mean "step to make a site". Now I'm understand why recently an article about Belajar SEO at Ezinearticle was in top 10 in Google SERP.

Just now I'm found out on Yahoo Answer about somebody asking about "What is Belajar SEO?" and I knew this some kind getting backlink method(will not work because nofollow).

And the funny is the response from reader name "roe" from trafficassistants.com saying that he doing some research about it and give link to my article at Ezine.. although I know the link sure not count as backlink but I got free promotion.

I try so hard to get to top position for "Belajar SEO" keyword. This hard work was including doing some massive backlinks for my site without using blackhat nor spam technique. Recently I had post my tactis to get listed on Google page.

Belajar SEO tactics to get listed in Top 10 Google SERP

I'm sure all my competitor for this "Belajar SEO" want to know how I bring my blog to Top 10 in Google search engine rank. In this final week before the end of contest, I will share what I had done for this site.

I use the keyword for my url but the problems is I didn't realize that "belajar-seo-learn" is optimize better than "belajarseolearn". The reason is an ineffective keyword will give invalid keyword optimization. So this is my first mistake that I should avoid in the future.

The same thing goes to other optimization factors that will improve my blog for search engine position, such as title tags of site, description tags, meta keyword tags, heading text, link url, link text, image alt, comment and web page body text. However, this blogspot has so many conflict when I try to put "Belajar SEO" keyword on h2, h3 and h4 tag. I try to follow the requirement for onpage optimization but the result is so disappointing. That why I changing my theme by using new theme from Bloggerbuster.com and it work!

For offpage optimization, I add my link on craglist and submit to Google sitemap to get index faster. Then I'm joining to social network such as SpicyPage.com to find friends that had similar interest on SEO so I can learn (belajar) from them. Another thing that I do is appreciate all visitor by visit their site through Myblog Log network and give approriate comment regarding their post. So far this work although I think there more that can be done.

Does my tactics missing something? How about your tactics for your blog?

I love to find out Belajar SEO's visitor site look like and the way I show my appreciation is by visiting their site. Let me show you an example, from my sidebar right now I saw Gudanglagu.com was on recent visitor Myblog Log.

So I will click the picture inside the Belajar SEO's widget, this will bring me to Mybloglog account. I will find out how many site do you put there and choose the suitable site that fit with me(if you have more than one site).

Belajar SEO traffic stats.

This blog was specially build for "Belajar SEO" WangCyber Challenge 2008 that were launced by WangCyber.com, TeknikSEO.com and DuitAdsense.com.
This blog now was 1 month olds and I'm so grateful that it was on first rank on Google indexs for "Belajar SEO" search term. It traffic stats also increase within a month.

Here I will show the 2 stats for my Belajar SEO's blog. First one is date range from Jun 23 to 30, 2008 and the second was Jul 1 to 7, 2008. All traffic sources were
divided into 3 types of sources; referring sites, search engine and direct traffic.

You can see that direct traffic and search engines were increasingly significantly but referring site drop around 30.38%. The reason could be my site has been visible
and easy to find in Google. However referring site still give most traffic for my Belajar SEO site.

For those who join Belajar SEO Challenge must know about Busby SEO Challenge. Busby, the Australia based company that focus on website development and search engine optimization, held a SEO contest that can be considered as "World Cup" of SEO.

There could be some of Belajar SEO contestant had participated on this Busby and that something I wll not follow. Why? If you had read my previous post, I did mention that I still a newbie in SEO. That's why I only concentrate on this blog for Belajar SEO Challenge with the purpose to learn (belajar) SEO.

Doing SEO for this blog is very time consuming and I cannot do more or join any other contest because I was only part-time blogger. If I had enough time doing SEO, got listed in Top 30 is quite good enough. There so many infamous were participated and one of them that I knew was Sphereteam, winner of "seocontest2008".

At this time, they were at first ranking and I heard they got tremendous support from France government (maybe they were French)and for that reason, no more excuse to lose this Busby SEO Challenge. I wonder if I can get that support too for my Belajar SEO blog. LoL!

What should I do after WangCyber "Belajar SEO" contest end? Do I stop blogging this blog? I hope not. This blog really make me think about search engine optimization, and how I really missed the opportunity to get benefit of it when I started last year.

This Belajar SEO's blog really open my eyes about how big the community of blogger that passionate to make money out of their blog by branding their own names and domain. Before this, I was only knew that we make some niche site, submit to directory and hoping somebody will visit.

But now, I realize the power of visiting other blogs, leave a useful comment and make friends of those blog's authority. Without this Belajar SEO, will I realize about this all? Nope, I don't think so.

Soon, I should have my own brand of my blog. I'm still figure out what name should I use as my first brand. Whether I'm still carry this Belajar SEO name, or I just use it will this blog.
