Just watched 'MEN IN BLACK 3' yesterday.

Surprisingly, MIB 3 is quite a good movie. :)

Although, MIB 2 wasn't up to expectations as to MIB 1, the third installment is far better.

The story begins as an alien criminal named Boris who escapes from a prison on the Moon; LunarMax. Boris then intents on going back in time to kill Agent K, who in 1969, had shot Boris' left arm and put him in LunarMax. Back on Earth, Agent K knew that when Boris escapes from prison, he will seek revenge. Agent J returns back, to find out that all traces of Agent K's existence was wiped out. J then gets help from Jeffrey Price, who gives him a time-travel device that enables J to time-jump. Agent J then jumps back to 1969, just the day before his partner, Agent K, young Agent K was killed by Boris.

Agent K was acted by 2 different actors; Tommy Lee Jones & Josh Brolin as the young Agent K.

The acting of Josh Brolin is good, as he managed to bring up Agent K's character as Tommy Lee Jones did. At one glance you might thought they are the same person. :p

I recommend for you to watch previous MIB movies, before watching this one. To get a better comprehension of The MIB, Agent J & K, etc. You might want to pay close attention to dialogues to understand better.

Okay, the film's story is simple, but all in all, it was really good. It actually answers a few questions from the previous films. The plot was contains a far amount of humour & action.

Acting, as I said was really good. The characters were well brought up by the actors.

Visual effects was fairly good. Obviously better than the previous ones

Men in Black 3 really sums up the story by answering questions hanging from previous films, (e.g. Agent J's & K's history, etc.) But, it also introduces new characters such as Agent O and Griffin that might have a comeback if there's a fourth installment.

All in all, Men In Black III was a good movie. Worth the watch. (:

I just watched the Premiere Screening of

"THE AVENGERS"

courtesy of Maybank a few days ago. :D

The movie was awesome and great. :D

So, one of the most anticipated movie of the year, or maybe a few years (esp. for MARVEL fans) just opened in Malaysia yesterday. All in all, The Avengers really did lift up to my expectations. Of course, you might not want to get your hype too high up. :p

Well, before you watch the movie, I recommend you to watch previous MARVEL films such as Ironman 2, Thor & Captain America which I'm sure most of you have watched it. Since the background story of the film relates to it.

The story begins at a remote S.H.I.E.L.D. facility of which then Nick Fury arrives when he was informed that the Tesseract (which if you' haven't watched Thor, it's a unlimited, powerful source of energy which originated from the realm of Asgard) is activating by itself and then opens a portal, delivering into our world, Loki. (which is the exiled brother of Thor who seeks of power & revenge) Loki then took the Tesseract. With this, Nick Fury re-activates the Avengers Initiative in order to stop Loki & retrieve the Tesseract.

The Avengers was quite well-written.

I'm quite surprised that Whedon did a good job on The Avengers despite there're multiple main characters in the film. All the characters from Ironman, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Hulk, Loki to Nick Fury was given fair screen time and each played their part in the film. Eventhough Nick Fury's script mostly consists of occasional one-liners.(which isn't really a bad thing, since it does give the movie a little more "dramatic" scene. :p) The movie surprisingly contains humour & charm too.

This film is highly recommended to be watched on the big screen. The sound effects, cinematography are really good. Visuals are quite good too. Watching in the cinema adds the extra "epic-ness" and "awesome-ness" to many scenes in the film especially action scenes. The action sequences was well shot & played. But, there was one scene where really reminds me of Transformers 3. (If I tell you, I'm afraid it might be a spoiler for the movie. :P)

Story & Plot of the movie was great.The story was well-scripted as it tells many conflicts in the Avengers as they meet up, Loki's diabolical plans, etc. The Avengers fits to a nice puzzle of the previous Marvel films. (:

Acting was really good. To elaborate about each character would take up time, so all in all, the charcters played really well in the movie.

Visual effects was awesome.. Cinematography was well crafted & executed.

Btw, the movie is also screening in 3D & IMAX.

Despite having the runtime of the movie to be around 2 hours 20 minutes, you actually can't feel that the movie is that long. :)

In a nutshell, The Avengers was really good. A highly recommended must-watch movie.

The movie was awesome.

The first time I saw Battleship's trailer on the silver screen, I was thinking "hey, this movie must be somewhat epic." And my comment still stands. Eventhough I was thinking it might be a typical cliche "alien-comes-to-earth-and-destroys-everything-but-humans-fight-back-and-win-the-war" kind of movie, this film is more than just that. The story line & plot was really good.

The movie starts off as Alex Hopper; a troublemaker who doesn't take life seriously & his brother, Stone Hopper decides to send him to join the navy. The whole movie takes place on the waters of Hawaii. During the international Naval excercise; RIMPAC, they encountered an extraterrestrial-looking structure that crashed into the sea. As they tried to examine it, the structure launched an electromagnetic force-field across the whole of Hawaii, restricting all external contact with it. With only Hopper & his team with a few other countries' marine on the ocean, they try to destroy the alien invaders as well to make contact with the other navy.

As the movie proceeds, each character begins to bring up their character such as Liam Neeson 's character of Vice Admiral Shane, Colonel Gregory D. Gadson's character of Lieutenant Colonel Mick Canales, an Army combat veteran and double amputee and a few others.

As I said, eventhough the story might seem rather simple, in actual fact, it's quite well done, for a movie with this sort of genre.

Battleship have got to be embraced by watching it on the big screens. The graphics, visual fx & sound fx. The action sequences are really good. Lots of explosions too. ( maybe Peter got inspired by Michael Bay :p)

I actually like how Berg managed to relate the film to the board game's concept. Eventhough the board game features a fleet of ships against another fleet, the movie use the character of the aliens instead. Surprisingly, it actually fits quite good.

Story & plot of the film was good. As I've stated in previous paragraphs.

Acting was reasonably good. Eventhough quite a number of reviewers said that Rihanna's acting was below expectations as she lacked expressions & one or two unnecessary lines. All in all, the film's characters were well-driven.

Visually, epic & stunning. Although the aliens' ships, weapons closely resembles from Transformers 3, the graphics are really good. Special effects was great.

According to other reviewers, there is an after-credit scene. So, don't go out of the hall just yet. (which I missed, might try to watch it again! :P )

All in all, the movie is just epic & unique it its genre. Battleship is a must-watch, especially on the big screen. (:

TITANIC.

Watched it last week, but decided to give it a review. :)

Directed By James Cameron.

Starring : Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, Billy Zane, Kathy Bates, Bill Paxton

Synopsis : 84 years later a 100-year-old woman named Rose DeWitt Bukater tells the story to her granddaughter Lizzy Calvert, Brock Lovett, Lewis Bodine, Bobby Buell, and Anatoly Mikailavich on the Keldysh about her life set in April 10th 1912, on a ship called Titanic when young Rose boards the departing ship with the upper-class passengers and her mother, Ruth DeWitt Bukater, and her fiance, Caledon 'Cal' Hockley. Meanwhile, a drifter and artist named Jack Dawson and his best friend Fabrizio De Rossi win third-class tickets to the ship in a game. And she explains the whole story from departure until the death of Titanic on its first and last voyage April 15th, 1912 at 2:20 in the morning..

One word. Amazing.

I should have watched this film a long time ago. Of course not when it was released in 1997, I was very young that time. :P I bet for those people who've watched Titanic 15 years ago, or watched it before the 3D version was released, you would had came out of the theatre breathless.

The film starts off as a group of treasure hunters explores the wrecks of RMS Titanic in search of a diamond; "The Heart Of The Ocean".They discovered an old safe buried under the ruins of the ship & excavates it out, in hope to find the diamond but all they could find was an old painting of a woman wearing the diamond. An old woman claims that she is Rose Dewitt Buketer;the woman in the painting, a passenger on the ship and tells her whole story.

What I could say, is that TITANIC deserved the 11 Academy Awards. The story was very touching, the acting was indescribable & visually, it was stunning.

There was no special effects in 3D. The movie itself was already great.

But, there was one change made to the film, the scene where Rose views the night sky. The scene was unrealistic & inaccurate according to an astrophysicist. Therefore, that scene was replaced with a more accurate view of the sky on that night.

The story was really touching, notably the scenes when the Titanic hits the iceberg & its gradually sinking. The audience was brought into the tense situations as they try to evacuate the passengers, the sacrifice, selfishness & love for one another was seen throughout.

Cameron did the great job with tackling the story of the said "unsinkable ship" with love story & experiences of the passengers in the Titanic.

Storyline of the film was very touching & captivating, from the drama of Jack & Rose to the sinking of the ship.

The acting was truly great. The actors really embraced their characters well.

Music was no doubt, great. I mean, that's why it was a hit & won Best Music & Best Original Song. Check out some of their music here.

Visually, stunning. From the exterior of the Titanic to the interior & the visual effects throughout the film.

TITANIC is truly one of the greatest film I've watched.

ELECTRON.

Electrokinesis.

I would create the superhero of Electron. With his ability to control & manipulate electrical charges around him & create electricity. Here is how he gained his powers..

ABILITIES:

He not only create electricity also harness electric currents from any electrical sources & create an electrical ball by concentrating electrons & electrical charges and forcing them together. With this, he is able to throw balls of electricity that are as lethal as a lightning bolt towards enemies in the knick of time!

Besides that, he could also charge an electrical device too. Just in case, a car can't start, he could harness electrical charges & direct them to the car. Thus, starting the car up. How convenient is that? ;)

Furthermore , with deep concentration, he could focus on creating electromagnetic powers. this is done by running an electric current to an object. With this, he could almost achieve the ability of Telekinesis...

Lastly, he could generate an electrical force shield by manipulating electrical charges into a shield. This can protect him from enemies too.

"But with great power, comes great responsibilities.."

Besides all these abilities, if he is unable to control his powers, it may lead to an unstable electrical storm. But, if controlled properly, he is able to control not just storms he created, but also storms nature created & use it against his enemies!!

Noticed he have a pair of titanium gloves on his hands?

This is to enable him to easily control his powers and not backfire at him,

In later times when he was recruited into the Avengers, he removed his gloves

(as shown in the first image) because he is able to control his powers .

One thing unique thing about him, is that he don't need any weapons, or armor...He just needs the electrical charges which are already around us.

He will definitely be able to assist the rest of the Avengers in defeating villains. He could assist Thor; by creating an electrical storm, Ironman; just in case Ironman's armor went out of juice, he could charge him like a battery charger, Captain America; just in case Captain America lost his shield, he could generate an electrical force shield. ;)

Electron should be included in the next Avengers movie.

Review Of : The Hunger Games

Just watched "THE HUNGER GAMES" courtesy of GSC cinemas.

I know many of you might have already watched this movie. :P

Directed By Gray Ross

Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth

Synopsis: Based on the Suzanne Collins novel of the same name. In a not-too-distant future, North America has collapsed, weakened by drought, fire, famine, and war, to be replaced by Panem, a country divided into the Capitol and 13 districts. Each year, two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games. Part entertainment, part brutal intimidation of the subjugated districts, the televised games are broadcasted throughout Panem as the 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors, literally, with all citizens required to watch. When 16-year-old Katniss' young sister, Prim, is selected as the mining district's female rep, Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) volunteers to take her place. She and her male counterpart, Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), the son of the town baker who seems to have all the fighting skills of a lump of bread dough, will be pitted against bigger, stronger representatives who have trained for this their whole lives.

Highly recommended to read the book first before watching the film.

First & foremost, the movie had left out a few parts that's in the book. If you're just going to walk into the cinema, you might not really understand the details of the movie. Such as Katniss' & the Districts' background, etc. The movie didn't really went off from the book but some of the audience might be a little confused at certain scenes ( as to why does this happen? or what is that? etc.) The novel was written in Katniss' point of view (mostly in monologue), therefore it might be kind of difficult for Ross to direct such film and make it "understandable" for the audience. But he actually did it by making the movie from different perspective ( e.g. the hosts explaining the game, conversations, etc.)

The film might be a little "slow" at the beginning and also the unnecessary usage of the "shaky-camera" style during the first few scenes in District 12 and also in later scenes . A number of reviewers actually state that the movie could've been better if the fight scenes were more intense (aka violent, bloodshed, etc. etc. :p). But, because of Ross wanting the movie to be rated as PG-13, the violent scenes was reduced to showing the audience parts of killing quickly and stabs, cut off from the screen.

In my opinion, despite all that, the movie was actually quite good. Could have been better though.

Most of the lines & dialogues was mentioned in the film as I imagined while reading the novel. The characters were really brought up by the actors really well as described in the book. (:

Most of the plot wasn't much altered but they're quite a number of scenes removed, sadly.Maybe because of time constrain. :/

The music composed for this film really played well with the scenes in the film.

I'm really looking forward to Catching Fire (which will be the sequel to this movie expected to be out in 2013) to be better.(:

Just watched "JOHN CARTER" a few days ago. :)

Directed By Andrew Stanton

Starring Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins, Samantha Morton, Mark Strong

Synopsis: John Carter was miraculously transplanted to Mars, the Civil War vet then discovers a lush planet inhabited by 12-foot tall barbarians. Finding himself a prisoner of these creatures, he escapes, only to encounter a princess who is in desperate need of a savior.

Interesting movie even though expected more action sequences.

When I first watched the trailer (if you haven't watch it yet, watch it below of this post) of this film, it reminded me of "Prince of Persia", "Avatar", and a little of "Star Wars".

After watching the film, it didn't disappoint me, it really is a combination of ideas from the above film. But, it wasn't copying, I would say. I mean movies with these kind of genre can't run away of Star Wars' space landscapes & concept, Avatar's Navi' (noting to the Tharks; the 12-foot tall green barbarians) and the dressing & scenes familiar to Cowboys & Aliens and Prince of Persia. A a little of Adjustment Bureau. (watch it to find out,hint: The Therns).

Directed by Andrew Stanton; (famous for directing numerous PIXAR animated films like

WALL-E, Finding Nemo, etc.), this was really a great. If I'm not mistaken, this was his first live-action film. So, its really worth it. (:

The idea & story of the film is kind of simple. But there is a twist of the story at the end.

Acting was good. Character was given fair screen time. Quite good. There is a few "laughable" moments in the film too.

Visual Effects was really good. (especially the Martian landscapes & scenery and the designs of the ships)

I think it would be good in IMAX 3D. ;)

A highly recommended to watch this film. Must watch on silver screen. :D

A really heart-warming, touching story.

A great movie which tells the sorrow & hardship in war through the perspective of a horse. This was really interesting. The film touches alot on loyalty, friendship, family-bonds, & of course the hardship of war. It was indeed a really spectacular film. Not just it's touching, but it also contains a few hilarious dialogues too. ;)

Storyline & plot was like I said, touching & inspirational.

Acting. I was really surprised on how they made Joey ( the horse) act so wonderfully in the film, how he bonded with the many actors in different scenes. The acting of the humans was of course as remarkable as Joey too. :P

Visually, the movie was really spectacular. The beautiful landscapes in the film was stunning. (have to watch on the big screen!)

Btw, this film was nominated for 6 OSCARs in the Academy Awards. (:

A truly stunning, inspirational story;emotionally & visually. Highly recommended.

Just watched the Premiere Screening of "CHRONICLE".

Synopsis:

New technologies and social communities allow us to record, post and comment on every second of our lives, sharing our every emotion and opinion with the world, no matter how mundane. Initially they use their powers to play innocent pranks on each other and people around them, but soon they gain confidence and learn to control their powers better to take on more difficult tasks. An interesting film.

This movie is shown "from-a-handheld-camera" shooting point of view. e.g. Cloverfield, 127 Hours, Paranormal Activity. But, it's not really that too shaky effect.

Well, this film is sort of a more "realistic" superhero movie rather than the good vs evil storyline.

The story goes by these few teenagers who gained telekinetic powers from a fallen object from space. Well, they did not use their powers for good, they played pranks on people. But, things get ugly when one of them gets over-obsessive of his powers...
I mean this might be true if one have these powers, he/she might end up like what the characters in this film.

Storyline & Plot was surprisingly interesting.
Something new for a change to those typical "superhero" kind of movie. This film really stands out from anything else of the same genre.
Acting was good. The characters built-up was good.
Effects was good too.

Be warn, that some people may like this kind of movie, but for some, won't like it. :p

For me, it's really good. You should watch this movie for a change. (:

Watched the Premiere Screening of

JOURNEY 2 : THE MYSTERIOUS ISLAND in IMAX 3D! ;D

Storyline :

Young Sean Anderson (Josh Hutcherson, reprising his role from the first film) receives a coded distress signal from a mysterious island where no island should exist. It's a place of strange life forms, mountains of gold, deadly volcanoes, and more than one astonishing secret. Unable to stop him from going, Sean's new stepfather, Hank (Dwayne Johnson), joins the quest. Together with a helicopter pilot (Luis Guzman) and his beautiful, strong-willed daughter (Vanessa Hudgens), they set out to find the island, rescue its lone inhabitant and escape before seismic shockwaves force the island under the sea and bury its treasures forever.

The 3D effects, & VFX are epic. Poor storyline though.

Plot & Storyline was poor. If you've watched Journey to the Center of the Earth (aka Journey 1) starring Brendan Fraser, well, Journey 2 is sort of like that. It's like they remade the film.

Acting was okay.

Visual & 3D Effects. Ah, yes. Because of their stunningly good 3D fx, the poor storyline can be excused. (: There's a number of scenes in the movie which put the audience in the movie. I'm saying this movie should be made into those theme park attraction than a movie in the cinema.

I could actually state a few scenes where the 3D effects are really showing of, but that would be a spoiler right? ;)

SO, If you are thinking of watching this movie, I highly recommend it in 3D! (preferably in IMAX 3D!, you won't regret it , although, its a little pricey. :P )

OKAY, let's not scare ourselves that the world will come to an end on this year. :P

I mean no one knows when or how the world will end. Those are just predictions, and they're not always right. The world could end at anytime, it could end in the next 100 years or it could end right now.

2011 has passed. Now, it's a dawn of a new year which means new beginnings.

So, just live life as it is & seize the moment!

So, let's not be paranoid or anything and let's just usher the new year with joy & fruitfulness.

Just watched "THE DARKEST HOUR" yesterday. (:

Directed by Chris Gorak

Acted by Emile Hirsch, Max Minghella, Olivia Thirlby and Rachael Taylor

Storyline :

The film circles around a group of survivals after the whole of Moscow was almost deserted during an alien invasion that came to earth for our minerals & power source. They try to find other survivals while trying to figure out how to defeat the invisible aliens.

Interesting movie.

Yes, from the looks of this film; it looks like another cliche "a-group-of-survivors-trying-to-escape-from-aliens" movie. Yes, it is, BUT it is slightly different from the rest of those alien invasion movies. I will compare it to these two other movies I've lately watched.

While Skyline,mostly played on graphics & visual fx.
Battle :LA is more of a "army-try-to-save-people-from-aliens" with FPS style.
But both have the aliens revealed to the audience.
The Darkest Hour is slightly different because the aliens are unknown to the survivals & to the audience, since they're invisible in the quiet abandoned Moscow. Because of that, it keeps the viewers in a state of suspense & uncertainty.

Besides that, this film also gives the audience a better looks of Moscow (when it's abandoned & deserted)

Plot & storyline, as explained above is a typical alien invasion film with a slight change.
It brings the viewers in suspense as a few individuals get disintegrated by the aliens.
Acting is quite good.Even though more introduction to a few other characters might be better.
Visual effects are really good. e.g. Crumbling buildings & the disintegration of people. The first scene (first image from top) does remind me of Skyline a little. I did not watch it in 3D eventhough it looks quite good if it's in 3D.

If you want to watch it, you should give it a go. In my opinion, It's quite good though. (:

I've just watched "We Bought A Zoo" .

Storyline :

Inspired by the amazing true story about a recently single dad (Damon) who dreams up the coolest, most unusual gift a parent could ever give his family: a zoo. A heart-warming family drama.

I did not expect alot from this movie but it's really a touching story of how a struggling single farther tries to overcome his personal problems by trying to start a new life.The movie tells many lessons in life too. At the same time, the audience can get a few facts about animals & zoo.

Simple but heart-warming storyline & plot.

Acting. Character's screentime fairly given. Despite Matt Damon's change from acting action films to dramas, It was actually really good. You can actually see his "fatherly-side" in this movie.

The music composed by Jónsi was perfect to the film too. It brings the audience closer to the character's emotions. You can click here to listen to them.

First try at Stop-Motion Animation

So, how's your holidays? (: Hope it's good.

Well, lately, I've just discovered "stop-motion" animation and therefore I tried doing it.

A stop-motion animation (also known as stop action) is an animation technique to make a physically manipulated object appear to move on its own. The object is moved in small increments between individually photographed frames, creating the illusion of movement when the series of frames is played as a continuous sequence. -Wikipedia.

Normally, stop-motion animation is done with clay/plasticine figures or Lego.

Well, in my case I did using my drawing of my stickman! :p

And the end-result is this. Do watch it. (:

Yes, mine looks more like a photo-story or a slideshow. :/
This is because I lack smaller movement details and more shots. (if that's the right word for it :P )
This clip only consists of 58 photos altogether.

It's actually quite simple, but a little time-consuming to do.
All you need is:

a camera, (preferably with a small tripod attached to it)
an object you want,(e.g. clay figure, Lego, stationery & etc; up to your imagination! :p)
a brightly lit room,
a simple movie-making software (e.g. Windows Moviemaker will do)
and of course yourself.

Well, I'm sure many of you readers out there are celebrating Christmas with your friends & family right?

And what's better than watching a good movie or maybe a few, during this season of joy. (:

Here's a list of movies that I've watched during the holidays with a brief explanation to each one and to link to the full review of each movie by clicking the respective movie titles.

(sequence of movies are based on it's release dates, from the earliest to the latest)

1) Arthur Christmas* (1 Dec 2011)

Arthur Christmas tells the story of how Santa delivers all the Christmas gifts in one night. With hi-tech gadgets & tech. But, even the most hi-tech operation has a margin of error when a child's been missed. Now, it's up to Santa's youngest son, Arthur to save Christmas.

VERDICT : If you want a good, hilarious family-time movie to fit in with the Christmas "feel", this is a go. :D

2) The Muppets* (8 Dec 2011)

When Walter; a fan of the Muppets found out that The Muppets Theatre is about to be raze by a rich oil tycoon, he helps Kermit reunite with the other Muppets to stage the greatest Muppet Telethon in order to save the theatre.

VERDICT: For those who've watched The Muppets during their childhood, will definitely watch this; a classic. And for those who didn't, well, this is another family movie with laughters throughout the film. (:

3) Alvin & the Chipmunks 3 : Chip-wrecked (15 Dec 2011)

On vacation aboard a luxury cruise ship,The Chipmunks & the Chipettes get 'chipwrecked' on a desert island. As Dave Seville frantically searches for his AWOL charges, the 'Munks and Chipettes do what they do best - sing, dance and wreak havoc. But they're in for the biggest surprises and lessons of their lives when they embark on an island adventure with their new friend - a castaway who's more than a match for Alvin and the Chipmunks.

VERDICT : Yet another hilarious installment to the Alvin & The Chipmunks movie. If you love Alvin & The Chipmunks, If you want a good laugh, go watch this then. ;D

4) Mission Impossible 4 : Ghost Protocol (15 Dec 2011)

Blamed for the terrorist bombing of the Kremlin, IMF operative Ethan Hunt is disavowed along with the rest of the agency when the President initiates "Ghost Protocol". Left without any resources or backup, Ethan must find a way to clear his agency's name and prevent another attack. To complicate matters further, Ethan is forced to embark on this mission with a team of fellow IMF fugitives whose personal motives he does not fully know.

VERDICT : The fourth installment to the M.I. films. Compared to previous movies, this is much more hilarious & more action packed. Love Mission Impossible, watch this. Love action movies, watch this too. All in all, just watch this. ;)

5) Sherlock Holmes 2 : A Game of Shadows (22 Dec 2011)

Sherlock and Watson face arch-nemesis Professor Moriaty, who is conspiring to make a fortune at the expense of the rest of the world. As Sherlock and Watson unravel the dastardly plot as they travel across Europe, they unlock Moriaty's secret- the manufacturing of next-generation weapons. Sherlock and Watson must stop this great threat before Moriarty succeeds in provoking a World War.

VERDICT : If you watch the previous Sherlock Holmes, this is the direct sequel to it.This next installment is filled with suspense & action. Watch this if you like the first. (:

A great movie.

It is a direct sequel from the previous film, which means you have got to watch the first movie to understand this better.

In comparison to the previous, it offers more action-packed sequences and more usage of CGI throughout a few scenes of the movie. (which is great! :)

In this sequel, the characters traveled across Europe countries from giving the audience a more "scenic view of 19th century Europe.

For the Storyline, like I've said, its direct sequel to it's predecessor film.

The Plot is much more complex (so, pay attention to dialogues ;) and more action.

Acting is good. Sherlock Holmes' character is given a challenge as to the more cunning Professor Moriarty. Therefore, the audience might be hard to predict their next move in the movie.

The CGI & "slow-mo" effects are really good. (something new :p) And the movie's score really did play a part in the movie.

In conclusion, if you love Sherlock Holmes following the first movie, you should definitely watch this movie.

Great movie! :D

In my opinion, it's the best Mission Impossible movie I've watched.

It's not necessary but preferably to watch previous MI movies. ( to sort of understand a few characters & the IMF backgrounds)

The movie, directed by Brad Bird who is known to direct Disney Pixar Animated films, directed his very first action movie; MI: Ghost Protocol.

Surprisingly, it was very good. (: Funnier than previous films. Lacks the suspense of MI3 but more action-packed.

Storyline was interesting.

Plot was much more complex. It was suspense combined with intense action sequences and high-tech gadgets(not forgetting, the film also contains a little humour too! ;)

The Acting was good. Characters were fairly given screen-time. Besides, the acrophobic scene where Tom Cruise himself did the stunt of climbing the Burj Khalifa was just epic. (as seen in the above picture)

So,I will prevent my urge to tell more details in fear it might be a little of a spoiler to you. ;)

All in all, if you're a MI fan or not, you must not miss this movie! ;D

Yes, I know DEVIL is shown in September 2010 & I'm late. :P

But I missed it , so I watched it on VCD. :)

Storyline:

Supernatural thriller "Devil" (also known as "The Night Chronicles: Devil") is the first of three features that M. Night Shyamalan will produce through The Night Chronicles. The first instalment surrounds a group of people trapped in an elevator, which then strange, paranormal events start to happen to each of them. They soon realize that the devil is among them in human form.

A psychological thriller.

Well, when I first read a review last year saying that this movie was one of the best movies by M.Night Shyamalan since "The Sixth Sense", I thought to myself that I should watch this movie. And this film did not fail me.

The simple straight foward storyline.

But the plot was suspense from start til the end.

It was like a cross between Final Destination & a little of those kind of "claustrophobic thriller".

At the end of the movie, it really comes to a lesson & makes the audience think.

If you love physchological thrillers & suspense films, I suggest you to watch this. It's out on DVD & VCD. :)

Yeap, went to Genting yesterday to watch Richard Marx's concert courtesy of ntv7. Thank You. (:

As we arrived at Genting, it was extremely crowded & packed. We were informed that all the hotel rooms for that day were fully booked. wow.

Not to mention, the fog on that night was very...umm...foggy. (above) :P

Alright, I shall cut to the chase & head on to the concert.

Before the appearance of Richard, a Malaysian local artist "Liyana" was invited for a guest performance. She sang a few of her own songs.

After she ended her performance, the crowd was anxiously awaiting for Richard Marx's performance. (for quite a long time.)

Alas, he arrived with his first song : Endless Summer Nights.

Followed by :

Take This Heart
Keep Coming Back
To Where You Are
Until I Find You Again

And there is this song called "Hazard".

"There is a funny story behind this song" said Richard.

Ever since he was a boy, he loved reading murder mystery books.

Due to his interest in these kind of stories, he then wrote a song based on these murder stories.

After he wrote & recorded this song, he said " This is the most stupid song I've ever written".

Then his wife insisted that she wanted to listen to it and after she listened, she said that this song will be a hit.

Richard said that this song is the worst song & so he wants to prove his wife wrong in this situation, he sent it to the radio station.

Ironically, that song top the list & was a hit in 13 countries. And that song is "Hazard".

After this, he sang a few other songs like:

Hold On To The Nights
Now & Forever
Angelia
Should've Known Better

He also sang this song called "Save Me" which he wrote and played by his 3 sons on the piano, guitar & drums respectively.

"This I Promise You" which he sang together with Liyana on stage.

Yeap, you guessed it. "Right Here Waiting For You". The long awaited song by the crowd.

As the time arrived, the concert ended & the crowd dispersed, satisfied.

Entertaining & funny movie.

This 3rd installment of the Alvin & the Chipmunks films might be a little different from the previous two. If you haven't watch the previous two, I recommend for you to do so. Since in my opinion, it's a...different. It features a little more, action, laughter and..(Don't want to give out anymore spoilers ;)

Storyline is good. (something different to me.)
Plot is hilarious. (as funny to the previous two)
Acting & Animation was both good.
Music. (could've expected more but it was still good. )

In a nutshell, if you love the Alvin & the Chipmunks movies, you should watch this.
If you just want to have a good laugh, this movie is recommended too. :)

An entertaining, comedy, musical movie.

Simple storyline.

Entertaining plot filled with giggles, music & more. :P

I knew about the Muppets but did not watch previous Muppets films though, but if you've watched any Muppets shows during your childhood times, you might like this movie as you can relate to it.

There are a many guest appearances that you can find throughout the movie such as Jack Black, Neil Patrick Harris, Selena Gomez, Rashida Jones, Whoopi Goldberg, and a few more.

All in all, The Muppets is like a classic show, brought back into the modern world.

So, if you want to catch a good family movie with a good amount of laughter & entertainment, this is it.

Just watched "ARTHUR CHRISTMAS" last night. (:

A very funny & entertaining movie.

Simple storyline. It's kind of like those films which a classic story is then improvised to adapt with our modern world. (but never gets old. :p)

Hilarious plot. . ( Watch it & you will know. ;) )

Animation was good since it was a production from Aardman Animations which also did Flushed Away and Wallace & Gromit movies.

The film really brings up the "Christmas-y mood".

Although I did not watch it in 3D, but I think it looks really good in 3D.

(the flying scenes/the sceneries/the Christmas decor/etc.)

All in all, if you want a good movie to fit the Christmas season with laughter ( like I said, it was hilarious) , watch this! :D

Just watched the movie "PUSS IN BOOTS" yesterday! :)

Directed by Chris Miller

Voiced by Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, and Zach Galifianakis.

Storyline :

This film tells the story of Puss in Boots before he met Shrek.

The movie introduces Puss as a wanted outlaw. He goes on an adventure to retrieve the elusive Golden Eggs from the Giant's castle at the same time, escaping from the murderous outlaws; Jack & Jill. On his journey, he is accompanied with the master thief; Kitty Softpaws & the mastermind; Humpty Alexander Dumpty.

Quite entertaining & good movie.

Many people would like to watch this animated film, is because they just love the adorable Puss as first introduced in "Shrek 2".

It is an entertaining film. Eventhough I did not watch it in 3D, but from the looks of it, it should've been great in 3D! :)

I've expected much more of this movie though. But, all in all, it's worth a watch! :)

Just watched a special screening for the film "HAPPY FEET 2" this morning. ;)

Storyline :

It was as good as the first movie. :)

Well, the first film mostly revolves around Mumble & his life. But in this sequel, it not just revolves around Mumble but around his son;Erik and a few other characters like the newly introduced characters; Will & Bill and a few other characters.

Comparing it from the first movie, this was more of a "musical-kind" and it shows a different perspective of the characters.

Storyline was good.

The plot was quite good eventhough I've expected more. ( the plot was a little drowing the main character's story)

The film's animation was very good. ( the details of the fur, snow & landscape was realistic, esp. in 3D! )

The choice of music in the movie was good too.

All in all, Happy Feet 2 was a good movie. It is highly recommended to be watched in 3D. :)

Just watched " The Adventures of Tintin : The Secrets of the Unicorn"

Synopsis :

Having bought a model ship,the Unicorn,for a pound off a market stall Tintin is initially puzzled that the sinister Mr. Sakharine should be so eager to buy it from him,resorting to murder and kidnapping Tintin - accompanied by his marvellous dog Snowy - to join him and his gang as they sail to Morocco on an old cargo ship. Sakharine has bribed the crew to revolt against the ship's master,drunken Captain Haddock,but Tintin,Snowy and Haddock escape,arriving in Morocco at the court of a sheikh,who also has a model of the Unicorn. Haddock tells Tintin that over three hundred years earlier his ancestor Sir Francis Haddock was forced to scuttle the original Unicorn when attacked by a piratical forebear of Sakharine but he managed to save his treasure and provide clues to its location in three separate scrolls,all of which were secreted in models of the Unicorn. Tintin and Sakharine have one...

Well, because it's directed by Steven Spielberg, many people tend to have expected more from this film.

But for me, all in all, it was a good movie. :)

The plot & storyline was quite good.

Animation was very good because it was motion-captured animation. (like how they did for "Avatar", "Mars Needs Mums" and a few other films)

In my opinion, it was a good movie. Worth watching it. :)

If you're planning to watch it, I suggest it to be in 3D. ( you can feel the effect at certain scenes)
