I'm sure all of you had a great school year, or whatever your profession is. I'm just happy to finally have a break from school. There's a lot of plans for this summer. The next couple of weeks I'm chilling at home and relaxing, mostly just reading and swimming and stuff. And then I'm off to Duke on June 13th, which I'm excited about. I'm leaving for 3 weeks, and I'm taking this course called Modern Medicine. And then in late July I'm going to UT Austin for a debate camp. So yes, it's a summer filled with nerd camps. :]
In other news, this week is 8th grade graduation. I have to give the farewell speech, so I'm just a tad bit nervous, but other than that it's pretty exciting. I finally get to go to high school! But other than that, there's really nothing new. I'm off now to drown myself in boredom, so I'll post later!

--Rupsha

De Ja Vu...and more math.

Hey!
Just thought I'd put a little post up to update everyone. Things are pretty boring as usual. Nothing earth-shattering has happened. However, I kind of have to mention something. Remember around this time last year when I posted a number of rants on San Antonio? Well...the time has come again! Well, in a few weeks actually. But, yes, we are going to San Antonio again for the State Math Competition! And even thought it's about a month from now, I'm REALLY excited. Maybe THIS year we'll get to go to Sea World. Stupid rain. But I can't help but feel major de ja vu. I feel like a lot of my posts are being repeated, except with different words. For example: christmas, new years, summer, birthdays, holidays, math. Anyway, hmm, what else? Oh yes, I almost forgot, tomorrow is my birthday. :] I guess that's pretty exciting. But, yeah that's really all I have to update on. Maybe tomorrow I'll post again to wish myself a happy birthday. Haha.

--Rupsha

Happy Belated Valentine's Day...and more.

Hey Everyone!
Happy Belated Valentine's Day! I hope everyone revelled in gifts and chocolate and love. However, I don't think many people know this, but Valentine's Day is named after St. Valentinus. February 14th was the day his head was chopped off. Now, isn't that pleasant? Okay well that's enough about Valentine's Day. Nothing interesting has really happened. Spring break is in a a few weeks. Also, my birthday is coming up, which I'm pretty excited about, I guess. But that's pretty much it. This month has been overall pretty boring. And I certainly don't forsee anything dramatically interesting happening in the next few weeks. So, basically, a boring life makes for a pretty boring post, so I'll just end this write here. I just wanted to update.

--Rupsha

Happy Belated Holidays...and much more.

Hey Everyone!
Happy New Year! And Happy Belated Holidays! I hope everyone had an excellent holiday season, as well as a great new year's. And, yes I know it has been a very long time since I last updated. I'm sorry! School is, well, I guess the school excuse it pretty much burnt up isn't it? Oh well. I guess I'll jsut have to make it up to you somehow. But before that happens, I would like to update you all! The school year so far has been pretty much the same as all other school years: boring, boring, and boring, with one exception: it's much harder! And now that second semester is about to begin, I'm sure they will put even more pressure on us. See, this post won't be filled with stories and adventures of the happenings at my school, because, as my inner conscience is always reminding me, I have a very boring life. Nothing interesting whatsoever happens to me. If someone were to film my life, it would be an immense waste of film, truly, the most interesting thing to happen would be that my bathroom would run out of toilet paper. And believe me, I'm not exaggerating. So instead of boring you all with school, I shall entertain you...with school. Wow...now wasn't that sentence a contradiction, eh? So, school starts on the 7th and mid-terms are coming up. I really hate how they make the mid-terms after the break. I would much rather they descreased the amount of homework before break and keep all the exams then. And then, I also have the pressure building up for about a million more things. The next few months until high school are going to go by very fast. As for other things, well, wait...what other things? School is basically my main priority. Oh! if only my life were more interesting. The blog would be teeming with oodles of entertaining stories. But, alas, it is not so. As for my photographic aspirations. They can be viewed at these websites:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/denimdignity
and
http://denimdignity.deviantart.com/
Anyways, enough with useless babbling. On to the interesting stuff (?). So, I've been debating something in my mind for a few weeks now, and I would really appreciate your opinion on this. As you know, I'm kind of really into photography. So, here's the dilemma: is good photography a matter of pure luck; will a good picture present itself to you at the randomest of moments; is the chance of getting a beautiful sunset, or a gorgeous portrait as good as rolling an oddly shaped dice, OR, is a good photographer able to coax a beautiful picture out of any subject?? Hmm, yes, so now ladies and gentlemen, you know what goes on in the inner workings of my brain. Hopefully, that little dilemma will give you something to chew on before another one of my infamously rare blogposts. I know this post doesn't make up for all the time I didn't post, however, I still have a few more days until school starts and I'll post then. Also, I'll try to get in some more blogging time during the weekdays and weekends. Bye!

--Rupsha

Alaska!

Dear Readerrrs,
Okay so, I just returned from Alaska two days ago. It is absolutely a photographer's paradise! It's beautiful! Seriously, my camera just about exploded. We saw so many things! Mountains, rivers, glaciers, and alllll kinds of wildlife. Bears, whales, dolphins, caribou, and moose! And the the weather was beautiful! We only got two days of rain the whole 6 days we were there. We visited, Anchorage, Talkeetna, Seward, and Denali. We got perfect views of Mt. McKinley Talkeetna. It was honestly one of the best vacations I've had in a while. I read the whole night, well, I fell asleep at 9 AM, but woke up an hour and a half later. So at 10:30 I continued reading, and finished it at 2:45. So basically I couldn't stop. I won't go into detail in this post, that will be the next one. But I was literally speechless. I was blown away! This is a slightly short post, but I have to say that Jo Rowling is bloody brilliant! Here's more about the book, do NOT click on this link if you don't want to be spoiled: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Potter_and_the_Deathly_Hallows.

UPDATE: So, now finally I've decided to fully put my thoughts on the book. I don't even know where to begin. First off, I just wanted to say that nothing I could ever think of could come close to what the Deathly Hallows were. I have to give Jo props. Most of the book pretty much floored me. Dumbledore is a genius, with the whole 'Harry willing to die was what protected the people at Hogwarts'. That was amazing. Like the ancient magic all over again. And I nearly fell over in shock when I found out Draco Malfoy was the true master of the wand, it's makes so much sense but it's just too brilliant. Also, the red herring with the resurrecting stone! And Snape's death, that was the most tragic thing ever. But now I see why Harry's eyes were important; Snape died while looking into Lily's eyes. And I literally died when I realized the silver doe was Lily, because I had a sneaking suspicion it was Snape's Patronus before it was actually revealed. Because doe's and stags go together. It was still so sad, because he loved her so much. And who would have thought that Bathilda Bagshot, someone we disregarded since the first book, would be so pivotal? It's amazing how Jo can put little names here and there that we don't think anything of and they end up being so important, i.e. Gregorovich, Peverell.
The amount of people that died...I was bawling even in the beginning of the book. It's funny, because the people that ended up dying...we didn't expect it. I mean, Dobby?! But, for me, that was heart-wrenching; he was so loyal to Harry. Also, I would have to say I was literally shaking after Fred; he was the funniest! And Tonks' and Lupin's were horrible. And they had a baby and everything. But I think the very first pivotal death; Mad-Eye, made you fully realize it was a war, you know? And the fact that none of the trio died didn't bother me at all, in fact I was relieved. The thing about Petunia, when you first read her secret, it's like: so what? But then you realize what it actually means, cause she really wanted to be magical! Also, I think Harry really stepped up in this one. He was clever, really clever. A lot of people underestimated him and thought he would be too wimpy to go out and destroy the Horcruxes, but the way Jo portrayed him made him believable; not godly. In the middle, I wanted to strangle Ron, literally I would have jumped up and broken 6 windows. But he redeemed himself, and I don't think you could blame him for bailing. Ohh and Kreacher! After his tale I wanted jump up and break 7 windows! But this time it was a good thing. Kreacher actually I think redeemed himself, even after selling the Order to Voldemort in book 5.
And I think the most empowering line of the book was: "You don't learn from your mistakes, Riddle, do you?" Him calling Voldemort Riddle, that was amazing. Another line that was amazing, when Lily asks Snape whether being Muggle-born makes a difference and he says, "No, it doesn't make a difference." That really shows how great he is. For me, this one was definitely the best of the lot. She tied up all the loose ends, and I can't think of a better way to end the series.
Honestly, I could go on for years about this, but I feel that is is wayy too long, so I'll cut this off here.

--Rupsha

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://rupshasmusings.blogspot.com/2007/07/harry-potter-and-deathly-hallows.html' title='Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows! I am immensely excited, don't get me wrong, but I just can't believe it will be over in 4 days! That means, only 4 days left to guess, speculate and discuss everything Harry Potter, and then...it's over. I hate to put it so bluntly, but it's the truth. Anyway, enough with depressing stuff. I really am excited about Deathly Hallows. Okay. Anyway. Today's agenda is pretty boring. It's just a mixture of watching TV, going on the computer, reading, biking, being bored, swimming in the late after noon...and that's pretty much it. Also, I'm going to tennis at 7. So it's a pretty boring Tuesday. Usually, I have piano lessons on Tuesday, but my teacher is out of town.
So, a few of my friends have told me about this website called http://www.deviantart.com/. It's actually pretty cool. You can post photography, drawings, photoshops, and even flash animations on it. Basically a profile for all your art. I just made an account yesterday so I only have a couple pictures up. Here's the link: http://denimdignity.deviantart.com/.
Okay so this post is pretty short, but I've exhausted all my writing ideas. The only thing I can think about writing now is Harry Potter speculation. I don't want to bore anyone to death who don't want to be bored to death with my endless babbling, and believe me, if I start, it will be endless. :] Sooo until tomorrow, or possibly even later today at night.
--Rupsha

Bored...

Hi Everyone!
Ahh isn't it a nice day for lonnnnng happy hours of posting? Yeah, I thought so. Anyway, let me fill you in on the last few days. I'm still going through post-HP5 euphoria, and at the same time experiencing pre-HP7 anxiety. It is quite the mix of emotions. Oh, and not to mention the...erm...perpetual boredom. Euphoria, anxiety, boredom...it's now completely obvious that true optimism is dead. Now, a lot of you may be confused as to why I'm feeling anxious about HP7. Well, I shall justify my actions. After this book comes out there will be no more book releases, no more speculating, the end of Harry Potter as we know it. I will positively we bawling when it's over. Ahh well, I can't say I'm not excited. As told in a previous post (!!!!!!!!!!!!!), or something to that effect. Anyway, this is gonna be a short post because I'm not in a place where I can stay on the computer for too long. When I get home I'll update. :] And so now I must leave. Bye!

--Rupsha

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Hi Readers!
Last night I went to watch the midnight release of Order of the Phoenix. The following is basically my account of what I thought of the movie. If you don't want the movie spoiled for you, then please don't read this because I don't want to get hate mail. :]
Wow. That's pretty much all I can say. I was really really pleased that this one turned out better than Goblet of Fire. It also seemed like the director (David Yates) paid a lot of attention to detail in this one. Admittedly, the scenes in Grimmauld Place were a bit rushed, however, I didn't get the feeling that it was missing anything too important, like I did with Goblet of Fire. There were a few light, funny moments that got the audience laughing, and also a few empowering moments that got the audience cheering, i.e. when Dumbledore burst into the room when Umbridge is sacking Trelawney. However, this movie did seem much scarier than the others. Even me, having read the book abut a dozen times, couldn't help but sit on the edge of my seat. It also seemed as if the whole movie lead up to the climax at the end; the battle at the Ministry, which was spectacular. The best part was definitely the scene between Dumbledore and Voldemort. Also, being a Star Wars fan, I couldn't help but notice that the battle scene was very similar to that of a Star Wars battle scene. Basically, this one was pretty much true to the book; it didn't butcher the contents of the book. Then again, if it did, Warner Bros. would have a hoard of Harry Potter fans after their heads. Of course, as with all the others, I did wish this was was a bit longer so they could have explained some more things with the Prophecy, and even gone into the Department of Mysteries a little more, but on the whole, I thought it was a pretty awesome movie. Very few cheesy lines, then again, there are cheesy lines in all of the movies. I guess it's just for the audiences enjoyment, more specifically, the kids.
Soooo, now that I'm done...ranting...venting...critiquing...whatever, I'm going to let all of y'all tell me what you think! Comment please!

--Rupsha

Summer '07!

Hi again!
I know I'm posting on the very same day, but if I put all my thoughts in one post I'm afraid we would have the great Blog-post Slaughter of '07. SO, in my generosity from saving so many lives, I have decided to write another post. Believe me, it's for the benefit of all you innocent people that are reading. Well, this post is basically about my summer plans. Which, after I add them up, total to about...*takes out calculator*...oh....three? four maybe? Yes, ladies and gentlemen...Rupsha Basu's summer is BORING...yet again. I honestly have nothing to do! Sure there are a few things to look forward to; the 5th Harry Potter movie, the 7th Harry Potter book, but still. I wish I was old enough to get a job! See, the only thing bad about 3 months of vacation is that you're constantly sitting on your butt waiting for school to start. And it's not like I'm going to go and build a few dozen computers and become rich while I'm off school, so I honestly don't see the point. Now, I believe I'm rambling. WHAT am I talking about?! OF COURSE I like 3 months of vacation! So basically, by reading the last few lines of this post I've just wasted all of your time. This is why people love me so much. So anyway. I can't help but wonder how boring those people's summers are who AREN'T interested in Harry Potter! Well, i think now it might be time to go to sleep now...well at any rate it's time to stop typing. I think. Only I'm tired and I have to wake up pretty early tomorrow. :P So good night everyone!

--Rupsha

I'm back!

Hey Everyone!
Wow. It's been forever since I last updated and I am truly sorry! But things have been BUSY! During the month of June my whole family and I were in India, which was a blast. Food, family, and shopping! What more could you ask for? Anyway, yes I got LOADS of shopping done, and I swear I gained about 5 pounds on the trip. But I am SO glad to be home again! I was literally missing my messy closet and the fact that there never seems to be and toilet paper in my bathroom. So, the minute I got back to our house, I went upstairs and just lay on my bed for a few minutes. And then I went into my bathroom. I seriously considered kissing the toilet...but I didn't think that would be too hygienic. However, I do believe there was some drooling involved. Haha (the bathrooms there weren't the cleanest). Soooo anyway. I am back and glad!
Anyway, now that I'm back to the proper routine (not that there is one during the summer) I've caught up with civilization. In fact, tomorrow I'm going to see Harry Potter 5 at midnight with a friend of mine! I'm soooooo excited. Wow. Major deja vu because I had this same experience when Harry Potter 4 came out; writing in my blog just before I saw it. So this year will be the same. Right after I watch it I'll update a post on this blog asking people to comment on what they thought of the movie. The post will probably contain my thoughts on the movie. As for other news, life around here is pretty normal...if anyone was wondering. Ok, so I don't want this post to become like some previous ones, i.e. the really long ones that no one bothers to read, I'll stop right about here before anyone else dies of boredom.

--Rupsha

NEW MEXICO!!!

Hey Everybody!
Wow...we are leaving for New Mexico in 3 days!!! It will be uber exciting because we're going to be gone a full week, and live with all of our friends in a cabin. We only get to see who our cabin mates are when we get to New Mexico. We take an early morning flight on Sunday and land in Albuquerque. Seriously, I can't wait! Anyway, I'm just updating because I am incredibly bored. I am currently working on my history paper. :P History papers suck. Heh. Anyway. Ahh. I'm just so excited. It's a whole week! Well...not really. We come back on Thursday. And then we get to skip school on Friday. This is going to be ahhmazing! Ok well, I should get back to researching. Ta ta for now! Hopefully I'll update another time between today and Sunday.

--Rupsha

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HEY EVERYONE!!!
I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE 7TH HARRY POTTER BOOK TO COME. I'M SOOOOOO EXCITED I CAN HARDLY SIT STILL IN MY SEAT!!! Okay...got that out of my system...no wait...here comes another one. I ALSO CAN'T WAIT FOR THE 5TH HARRY POTTER MOVIE TO COME OUT AND I JUST THINK THAT IT'S SO EXCITING THAT THE 5TH MOVIE AND THE 7TH BOOK ARE COMING OUT 8 DAYS APART!!! *sigh* Well that's over. But, honestly, July 21 is my new favorite day. It is THE day when the last and final installment of HARRY POTTER comes out. And I just reread that sentence and realized how utterly redundant that sounded; (last and final). Anyway. I just can't wait for summer to come. And for school to be over! My summer should be quite exciting. Oh and by the way, this post is pretty much an addendum to the previous post. I just didn't want to make the previous one to long. As you can see, for a short while there I was on a spree; pretty much every post was really really really long. But I've decided that if I must torture you...I will do it in a more mature way. I will, instead of pelting you with incredibly long posts, include inordinate amounts of CAPSLOCK in my posts, and rant on and on about my excitement for the new Harry Potter. I think I have sufficiently managed in doing that successfully, don't you think? And now, to finish my CAPSLOCK quota for the day.
EVERYONE THAT LOVES HARRY POTTER LIKE ME PLEASE COMMENT BECAUSE I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOUR THOUGHTS! And also, you can email me at potterfreak94@gmail.com, I seriously would love to hear what you think about the 7th book, and possibly the 5th movie.
Goodnight (for real, since in the last post i was clearly lying),

--Rupsha

:P

Dear Readers,
I know, I am the most irresponsible person in the history of bloggers. But oh well, I've been uber busy. With homework and a dozen projects due and stuff. So anyway, on with the good stuff
Today was an especially boring day, filled with all kinds of dull assignments, monotonous lectures, and interminable tests. I honestly think that the life-long dream of the whole 'school organization' is to kill all of us students. I mean, we work our butts off for 12 long, hard, years...and what do we get? Yeah, that's right, four more years of yet another school, except this time they hate you so much that you actually have to live at the school. Honestly, can't they just give it a rest? I guess not. They probably have a special secret organization. made especially for building up methods to destroy the next generation. Kind of like the CIA, except an evil, more goal oriented organization. Ok, so my 'I hate school' rant is over. But now that I think of it, school isn't all that bad...
Well, as I was saying before my insane rant kicked in...today was a day like no other. The most boring of them all. But, on the bright side, tomorrow is Wednesday, which is one day away from Thursday, which is one day away from Friday! So, maybe I should just stop being a pessimist...usually that gets me no where and I end up procrastinating. But then when I'm really optimistic that ends badly; I end up getting my hopes and dreams crushed. That is never a good thing to happen to a growing young'en like myself. :]
Ahh well. I think it is time to hang up my...pencils...? And hit the sack...go to sleep. In other words...drag my lifeless body up the stairs, squeeze into the nearest piece of comfortable clothing i can find, and collapse into the bed. With the first Harry Potter book. I've decided that in honor of the upcoming release of the 5th Harry Potter movie and the 7th Harry Potter book, I shall reread all the previous Harry Potters. Just so all the information is fresh in my memory. Now, I don't want to bore you any longer, so I will save my 'I can't wait for the 7th Harry Potter book' rant for later. Goodnight!

--Rupsha

A Normal Day...ish

My Wondrous Readers,
It really isn't my fault if my definition of tomorrow is different form your definition of tomorrow, right? Exactly, that's what I thought. So obviously, in my previous post when I said "I promise to post tomorrow", I meant two days from now. Because that is what tomorrow means in my dictionary.
But anyhow, I rest assured that I won't be getting killed tonight. So this weekend has been very eventful. I woke up everyday, brushed my teeth, ate breakfast, and did my homework, and then got on the computer and did random stuff on it. And then I went to sleep, and the whole cycle started all over again, a cycle which has been going on for 3 days so far. But today however, there has been a sudden turn of events. Yes, I know, it was quite sudden and unexpected, but today we (the general public) discovered that Rupsha Basu does indeed have a social life! Yes, I know, all of you must be thinking that I have gone mental and that I need to be institutionalized immediately. But alas, before you make little men in white coats take me away, I must justify this sudden change of the norm. I in fact called over 3 of my friends. ON A SUNDAY! That is only because tomorrow there is no school, which I am immensely happy about.
So anyway, back to the aberration of the norm, they came over at about 5ish. We spent about 30 minutes attempting to make a decent dinner, a feat which I must say failed miserably considering the fact that the pasta looked like a pile of dog droppings, but anyhow, we ate pasta (or something that resembles said pasta). And then we ate cake, amazing scrumptious, mouth-watering cake. A cake that, thank god, we had not made ourselves. At this point we decided we were quite bored with stuffing our faces with food so we proceeded to go upstairs. For the next hour and a half we watched a Simpson's marathon. Quite hilarious. Apparently, everyone has a bit of little kid in them, or foolishness, depends on how you look at it, but anyway, after the Simpson's marathon we decided it would be quite amusing to watch the Spongebob Squarepants Movie. That, I have to say, is a hilarious movie. My favorite quote would have to be: "You don't need a license to drive a sandwich." Hah. Sooooo, as you can see, we had loads and loads of fun being unusual...huh. That sounded strange. But don't worry, it isn't as if we didn't get anything productive done. We did, as a matter of fact. We spent a lot of time talking about homework (talking being the operative word here), berating our evil teachers, cleaning up the kitchen, and talking to each other about how we have a humongous history paper to write. Ahh...quite productive indeed. I indeed feel that we got so much accomplished today. Not to mention the fact that I learned that everyone can drive a sandwich if they want to. So I think I might have to leave right about now. That could be because of the fact that these is a very large insect-type thing buzzing around my room, which I intent to shoo away. Or it could be because I am incredibly tired. But right about now my annoyance for that fly trumps my tiredness...oh no...now it's going in the bathroom. Oh! I can shut the door and lock it out...oh never mind. It's buzzing around my head, once again. Excuse me please, I have creepy little hindrances waiting for me to shoo them away so I best be leaving now. Goodbye! And this time I will try and stick to your definition of tomorrow.

--Rupsha

More Random...

Hey Everyone,
Now before you people start stabbing me with dull spoons and making me feel like the scum of the earth...I would like to say something on my behalf. We got home from San Antonio at 11:30 PM on Saturday so obviously I couldn't post then. And well the rest of the week was filled up with homework and studying. I'm sure all of you know that there comes a point in time when school pretty much takes over your life. That's pretty much what's happening to me right now. So anyway, moving away from my inadequacies, let's talk about my week. It was boring and uneventful, and seemed to go by painfully slowly. Do you want to know why? Because we have a 4-day weekend right now! It's so very exciting that we have a break. But honestly, a vacation just means more time to do homework so what's the fun in that? Honestly. You'd think we could actually enjoy the next 4 days, but no, we get to be bogged down by an endless stream of projects and papers. So anyway, we have today off (good Friday) and Monday because of some teacher-in-service day. But I finally got to catch up on my sleep. My poor sleep-deprived body was in need of that. Hence the sleeping 'till 11:00 this morning. :]
Oh and those of you who enjoy watching random videos of things I have one for you. It's one of our group of friends. Isabella So made it, by the way, and she would greatly appreciate it if you subscribed...! Hah that's for you Izzi! Anyway, yea it's a video compiled of a bunch of random moments. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSwNiSkjJN4. There it is right there.
You know, I can't help but get the feeling that this 4-day weekend deal is too good to be true. I mean, I can't get over the fact that...WE DON'T HAVE SCHOOL ON MONDAY! Oh sorry. Random moment. But I'm betting anything that this weekend is going to go by so fast. And it'll all be over and we'll be that much closer to when the history project is due. And that much closer to when the science project is due. Ah sometimes I wish school didn't exist and we all just stayed at home wallowing in boredom...but alas...if that happened then I wouldn't know what to do with myself!
Ok I think that I have rambled on long enough for one day. It's only 9 'o' clock so I have no idea what to do with myself for sometime, but oh well, I'll find something better to do rather than to bore you innocent people with the crazy going-ons of the inside of my head. Huh...that was a strange sentence. So anyway, I bid all my wonderful readers a farewell! I am, as of now, promising to update again tomorrow. And if I don't, then y'all have every right to hack me into tiny tiny tiny pieces and feed me to your dogs! So bye!

--Rupsha

Hmm...nothing to say here...for once...

Hi Everyone!
I am truly very disappointed. We were supposed to go to Seaworld today, but it was raining!!! I was so mad that we didn't get to see Shamu! But, of course, it's not as if we lounged around in the hotel room all day. We decided to go to the Natural Caverns in San Antonio. They were pretty cool, and I got millions of really amazing pictures. So after out visit to the caverns, we ate lunch at Fudd Ruckers. This was where we very immaturely played the arcade games they have. I am a proud 6th-place winner of the racecar game thingy...yeah. So anyway after that we went to see a movie! We saw Meet the Robinsons, which was the cutest movie in the world! It actually, believe it or not, had some philosophical value. After that we went back to the hotel. At this point we were kind of beat, so we ended up sitting in the lobby and practicing for the competition. We ordered in pizza for dinner and sat in our little tables in our Math Club t-shirts like good little dorks...:]. Then some of us went outside to play volleyball for a little while, until they kicked us out and we went back to the room.
So, yes, it wasn't as eventful as Seaworld but we still had loads of fun. And also, I didn't have need any emergency bathroom breaks, which is definitely a plus. Anyway, I think I'll retire for the night because I'll have to wake up at 6:30 tomorrow morning. Blegh. So the next time I post, I will be in the sweet confines of my own home! I shall be back with the fresh scent of homesickness, and yet the faintest remnant of San Antonio. Okay yes I know I'm being way too dramatic. But I think that is pardonable considering how late we stayed up last night. Today will be the night to sleep...which is an action I shall be doing soon. So goodnight my beautifully wonderful readers!!!

--Rupsha

SAN AN-FREAKIN-TONIO!!!

Dear Readers,
I shall now warn you before hand that I will now inform you with a play by play account of what happened on the bus trip to San Antonio!!! I am now sitting in the hotel room with 3 of my friends: Mollie, Isabella, and Monica.
So let the telling of the story begin. We boarded the bus and we drove along for a few minutes, desperately trying to make time go as fast as possible. Then we actually started to enjoy the ride. Of course, not without the occasional belting out of song lyrics form whatever the radio was playing. We boarded the bus with a whole stock of soda at 2:30 PM. If you can imagine 11 already hyper girls even more sugarafied on soda...then you'll be able to imagine how chaotic it was on the bus. We were all spread out and lounging around the bus with our laptops out and the music blasting really loud. Isabella's Mr. Pibb exploded all over her and Monica so they ended up moving closer to the front. But since they did that we made a little gossip circle...except not really. After the indescribable amounts of soda were drank...I realized that my bladder is much smaller than the average person's bladder. Which I know was a piece of information that every single one of my readers wanted to know (if there are any left). So anyway, we stopped at a Tiger Mart near a gas station. This was around 4:00PM by the way. That is officially my new favorite store because its toilets totally save my life. And, yes, I do realize how stupid that just sounded. So after our little bathroom trip, we spent the next hour eating crumbled up chocolate cookies that looked like a bag of turd and those shrimp flavored crackers which we devoured. They were amazing. This time, both Isabella and I needed to use the bathroom really bad. Literally, we were about to die!!! Hah. This was around 6:00. And this time we stopped at Sac 'n' Pac! My second favorite store (also because of the toilets). About two and a half minutes later, Isabella realized that she had left her cellphone in the bathroom of Sac 'n' Pac. We turned back and got her cellphone. The rest of the ride consisted of us abstaining from any food or drink, to prevent any more emergency bathroom breaks. And then we stopped for dinner at this place called The Alamo Cafe. The hotel was right next to the restaurant so we loaded our bags in.
And so that was the bus ride to San Antonio! Hope y'all enjoyed our very eventful, not to mention, interesting and intriguing trip! Sooooo anyway. Tomorrow I shall report back with stories about our first night at the hotel...and our trip to Seaworld! So be looking forward to yet another incredibly exhaustively long post. :]. So byee!

--Rupsha

Random

Dear Readerrrs,
I am in an excellent mood today. You wanna know why? It is because we leave for San Antonio in less than a day! Oh and by the way, might I point out that this is the third day in a row I am posting! Aren't you oh so proud of me? Hah so anyway. Today my friend Mollie and I baked cookies at her house. They were chocolate chocolate chip ones. And they were ginormo! Absolutely mammoth. So anyway, after that we went to the mall. We looked around for about an hour...but then we got bored so we went home. The boredom got heightened by the fact that we only had about 20 when we pooled our money together so we couldn't exactly buy anything worth using. So then I went home and I started to pack for my trip tomorrow. My mom was kind of fussing at me because she thought it would take a really long time to pack. It only took about 15 minutes. I got all the essentials. Clothes for 3 days, night clothes, toilettries (hehe), entertainment (i.e. laptop, cell phone, yoyo, book). You know all that jazz. That's pretty much all I did today. And tomorrow I wake up at 6:15 AM. Blegh. I hate waking up early. If I could, I would probably stay in bed forever unless someone dragged out of bed. Unless of course I got immensely hungry...cause then I would eventually wake up to eat. It reminds me of that story where the guy fell asleep for 100 years and he came back and all the people in his town were old and his children had children and he had missed out on a bunch of things. That just makes me thankful that I have wonderful parents that scream to me at the top of their lungs to get me out of bed. Or else I would miss out on a whole bunch of stuff. Ok so now I realize I am rambling. I shall stop now.
You know I'm actually surprised that I am writing so much now. I never used to have the patience to sit down and think of a bunch of things to tell people who may not even be interested in mindless rubbish. I'm rambling again. Oh by the way, do you guys know that this Sunday is April Fool's Day? Well I do. Because that is my second favorite holiday. My first favorite holiday is Groundhog's Day. Forget Christmas and Halloween. Groundhog's Day is much much cooler. Who doesn't want to see a groundhog pop out of it's hole once a year? But anyway, back to April Fool's Day. This is also the day when Fred and George Weasley were born...you know from Harry Potter. And I know that that is completely irrelevant...but oh well. This Sunday is a day of joy and happiness...not to mention a day of laughter, ridicule, and trickery :].
I was wondering what else I should say in this post...but then I realized that I don't have to say anything else. This post is long enough already so why bore the very few readers I already have by rambling non-stop and reducing my number of readers even more? And then I got to thinking: what if I suddenly start making short posts again and all my innermost, deepest thoughts get bottled up inside me and pushed to the very depths of my brain because I never shared them with y'all? And then I thought, if that tragic thing happened, then one day, I wouldn't be able to take it anymore. I would explode! That would be the day where I would write such a long post that the people that own blogger.com would kick me out. Yes, the post would be that long. It would be pages and pages long and my readers would be trying to read the pages and pages of babbling. And yet, they wouldn't be able to stop. Do you know why? It is because they know that if they suddenly stopped reading my blog, then my poor little heart would be broken. Yes, that's right. It would break into tiny little smithereens. My readers know that if they stop reading my blog, it would destroy me. That is why I didn't not cut this post short...and the more posts to come in the future, because obviously my not posting long posts would eventually tear me into little tiny tiny pieces. And as I always say to anyone that will listen (i.e. no one): you should never keep your thoughts bottled up inside of you because one day you will explode and eventually that will cause the whole world am immense amount of pain.
So, now that every single one of my readers has been assured of my eccentricity, it is now time for me to head off to bed. Because if I don't, I won't be able to wake up at 6:15 tomorrow...and that would be bad. So goodbye! I'll post again tomorrow...or at least I'll try and post again tomorrow. Which at that time I'll be in San Antonio!!! So until then...byee!

--Rupsha

Yet another account of my vair vair boring life

Readers,
Ahh back from wondrous day of wandering around school aimlessly. I came back from piano class at 6, and then I sat down to watch Gilmore Girls. Thank god that tomorrow we don't have school. I know y'all are thinking that that's crazy, considering tomorrow's a Wednesday. Actually, tomorrow is conference day, so we don't have school. Instead, we go to school with one of our parents to conference with our teachers. Fun, right? NOT. I am seriously dreading what my teacher has to say about me. Now don't get the impression that I'm a bad kid, cause I'm not. It just kind of scares me to think that my teacher and my mother, the two people with the most say in my life, are having a one on one conversation about ME. Now that I think about it, it's quite intimidating. It might even be a bit pointless because we talk about what and how I can improve. The only thing I really need to improve on is my procrastination. Boy, am I the queen of procrastination. Basically, nothing will stop me from doing anything until the very last minute. Honestly, I can't really find a cure for this very tragic ailment I have. The only possible way to end it is if I am forced to do something...but hey who's forcing me right? Hah well...I'll learn eventually that procrastination is not the way to go. Until then...PROCRASTINATORS UNITE...tomorrow.
Anyway, I'm am sooooo excited about going to state on Thursday. That's pretty much all my friends and I have been talking about. It will be soooo fun. Here's the plan: Thursday afternoon we board the bus, bags, laptops, and all, and we take a roadtrip all the way to San Antonio. We then stop by for some dinner before checking into our hotel. Then, imagine 4 girls staying in the same hotel room. Thursday night is usually the party night, because the competition isn't until Saturday. On Friday is our rip to SEAWORLD! This is where we get immensely ripped off by the expensive merchandise and get soaked to within an inch of our live by Shamu! And then we once again retire to the hotel room. Somewhere in between the Seaworld trip and the meal-eating, we manage to find the time to actually get some studying done! And then of course, the next day is the actual competition. Once that is over with, we grab a quick lunch. Then I think is the award ceremony? I'm not completely sure. Finally, we drive allllll the way back home. I can you can tell I am really really really excited.
Now I have decided to stop boring y'all with the nitty gritty details of my uber boring life. As you can see, I have resolved to update more often. I will update tomorrow, and the next day, and possibly the next day. Maybe even Saturday. It shall be a whole week filled with happy updating and you all shall enjoy it very much...! Man, I just realized how many more thoughts have entered my brain since the very first entry in this blog. I used to have like 5-10 line entrees. NOW look at them. They're are ginormous! That's probably because I have a billion gajillion more things to think about, so there is a lot more brain activity. In fact, I've always had a picture in my mind of how big the inside of my brain would look like. It would probably be a really really large room...but you couldn't see the carpet. Huh...that reminds we vaguely of my own room. Now that I think of it...my own room is usually what I imagined the inside of my head to look like. Ok, I've thought about it some more and I've realized that this epiphany that I have just experienced is neither intellectual nor earth-shattering. I guess it just proves how scatter-brained I really am. Ahh well. I must be off now so I bid my readers adieu! Bye!

--Rupsha

Catching up

Dear My very excellent, wonderful, beautiful, patient, Readers,
Wow! It has truly been forever since I last updated. Time sure does fly by fast when one is cooped up in a room for hours on end doing homework, not to mention the 7 hours I have to spend in school everyday. But, putting all the distractions aside, I would like to apologize for not updating. I am the most horrible person in the world and I consider myself to be the lowest piece of scum on this Earth. Anyway, I think some serious catching up is in order...So let the catching of the ups begin!
I honestly don't think I can call myself a "newbie" to my school anymore. I know that place like the back of my hand. It actually feels like home over there. Speaking of school, I had spring break two weeks ago. That, I have to say, was quite uneventful. I sat at home all day long, soaking up the nonexistent sun, babysitting my little brother, and basking in all my lazy glory. My friends all went to cool exotic places, coming back with tales of excitement; I got to tell them about how I spilt coffee on myself 3 times during the week. Sounds fun, right? Ahh but enough about the boring aspects of my life. A few exciting things have happened, no matter how rare they were. Infact just this weekend I went to Austin for a Math competition. It was pretty fun because I got to room with someone I didn't know at all. This weekend I'm going to another math competition with a few of my friends from school. This one is in San Antonio. I'm not so much excited to do the math as I am to stay in a hotel with my friends and go to Seaworld. I know, this all sounds really dorky, but hey, we are the kind of friends that wake up at 6 in the morning to go do math...in mini skirts. Haha that's often something my friends and I joke about because we actually really do look forward to these math competitions, but we're actually not that nerdy.
Now, if you have not been convinced of my utter nerdiness, I daresay this piece of information will. As most of you know, in 7th grade one has the option of taking the SAT. So, I took the SAT in January...the 27th to the exact. Keep in mind that this was the actual SAT, not the PSAT, not the PPSAT (not that that exists). It was the SAT. So anyway, I took it. And my results came back on the 15th of February. I got a score of 2100, which, not trying to be the least bit too proud, I am actually very satisfied with.
This list of events is getting increasingly longer, but alas, it is my fault for not updating in ages. So, on to the next event. My birthday was on February the 25th!!! It was really exciting because I turned 13th. I can now officially call myself a teenager. Hah, so anyway. I had a birthday party, which was loads and loads and loads of fun. I got a camera (finally) for my birthday, which now is like an extra appendage; I carry it around everywhere. I find taking pictures is actually quite satisfying.
I think now it is time to abridge my endless ramblings of nothingness. I think I have bored you nice people far too much so I shall bid you goodbye and goodnight. I'm off ot bed. :]. But before I go I would like to apologize again. I would also like to say that I will definitely be updating more often in the future. Maybe even this week again. Maybe more. To make up for my laziness I might even think about updating twice a week. now doesn't that sound appealing? Oh I bet it does. Anyway, ta ta for now!

--Rupsha

Hey!

Hey Everybody (after a very prolonged absence I must admit),
I am extremely sorry that I haven't posted in a few months! It's just that time flies by so quickly when school started just about a month ago, not to mention the 4 HOURS of homework that I get each night! Life has just been really hectic and stressful but I promise that I will try as hard as I can to post from now on. I am pretty sure this post will be really long because I am in a very "penmanship" mood today...so brace yourselves everyone! Ok, I was just thinking the other day about how fast this year has gone by! I mean, if you will look at some of my earlier posts you will see a couple from Christmas and New Years. It feels like I just wrote those just yesterday, and now there is only 3 months until that time of year comes! I think it's just really crazy how this year has just flown by with the blink of an eye.
I think one of the drastic changes in my life has definitely been my school. It's very different from my other school, it's just a completely different atmosphere; I really like it. The homework load is absolutely outrageous I might add, but other than that the people here are really nice and very welcoming, so I'm fine with the school change. Another thing that has changed is...well...I guess me! Since I started writing in this blog last summer, so many things about me have changed. I can actually feel the difference in my maturity, and I just see things more differently than I used to. I guess one has to experience it to actually get it, for those of you that haven't, forgive me for my incessant babbling! I dunno, maybe it's just that I'm extremely self-centered that I think I've changed...or it could be that I suddenly went insane because of the absurd amount of homework we get...I dunno...could be either one.
Ok well, I think I have to go now, in fact I know I have to go now. One usually does when there eyelids get outrageously heavy and the imaginary voice in there head (aka my dear mother) is telling them to go to sleep...which may sound insane...but I tell no lies. Ahh...if I do not hit the bed now the result shall not be good, I'm afraid the strange voice has started shouting incoherent gibberish about me not being able to wake up in the morning. Hmm...I wonder where it would get that idea. Well goodbye, I promise I'll post tomorrow because honestly...I don't think I did this post justice!

--Rupsha

California!

Hey Everybody!
I'm in California right now. It's this place called Monterey Bay, we're staying at the Seascape Resort. A very nice place I have to say. We've been to sooooo many cool places! We've been to Carmel, which is this cool place with a bunch of shopping complexes and good restaurants, we've also been to San Fransisco! It was soooooo amazing. We saw the Crooked Street, and the Golden Gate Bridge, and also Chinatown. The whole city is on a mountain so all the streets are slanted, it was really cool. After San Fransisco, we went to visit Stanford University! Its campus is so beautiful; we took tons of pictures! That brings us to today: we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It was sooooooo amazing. We saw sharks, sea turtles, kelp, octupi, jelly fish, AND...anchovies...lots and lots of anchovies! It was a really cool place. Anyway, we're going back home to Dallas tomorrow to the scorching hot temperature, it'll be good to be back home again!

--Rupsha

P.S. I've been incredibly busy, but now that summer has started, I won't be! I'll be free to do whatever I want and waste my time licking the floors and moving around the furniture...this is what I hate about summer: you're always bored and you have nothing to do. It will be a relief when school starts. Aaaaah, and now I come to the subject of school. I'm getting ready to start a new school, which is called Hockaday. I doubt you guys are interested in the whats and whens of the school. Things like: founded in 1913, whether or not some state senator went to the school and got kicked out, so I'll give you a short preview. It's an all-girls private school so obviously there are uniforms, and obviously there are no boys. This is the first time I've had to wear a uniform so it's really exciting. It goes through grades PK-12 so I don't have to worry about switching schools every 2 years.
Anyway, I have to go rearrange the furniture so it fits my liking, and so the couch is relatively cloth to the TV.
