And some previews!

Hey Everyone! Gradually I've been editing and tweaking the design of the blog and after having spent 3hours in a row on Thursday night with 2hours on Friday, I present to you the new allaboutandroids.com :D

I will be sorting out the content shortly by creating a n00b proof FAQ and I will also set up simple, easy guides to Rooting, to flashing Custom Recoveries and ROMs etc

This should be done within the next week or so. Since school started I need to organize my time appropriately and then the ball will begin rolling!

If you haven't seen it yet, please do check it out at http://www.youtube.com/allboutandroids/

This post is to basically give a break down of some of the plans I have for the future.

Our Channel has been growing very steadily so that will be our main objective

This "News" website will be converted into a Question Answer core

What this means is that any questions you guys have, we will try our best to answer them be it about ROMs or apps etc

The website will also be more focused on Tutorials on How to do things, How to improve things, How to Customize your Android device

So the general direction that we are going in, is a community that helps each other out and teaching each other how to fully use their Android system.

Hope to see you guys soon! I will be gradually working starting September on the "Transfer"

Hey people! This post is COMPLETELY dedicated to the awesomeness that was Google's annual Input Output Convention... First off, What's new in Android!

So what is new?
To begin the awesomeness, Google announced their best OS to date which is Android 4.1, Jelly Bean. Yes, it is an incremental update but wow...my mind was blown.

To start off, Jelly Bean keeps the traditional ICS look, so the HOLO theme is still around. We do have a new Lockscreen as well as a redesigned Google Voice/Search bar and a new set of wallpapers. Now, we have a new "button" on the Lockscreen where the Upper portion contains Google NOW, which is an extremely quick and easy method to ask Google a question and get a dictated answer.

While watching this Live, it was spectacular and got results at amazing speeds. If you don't trust my words...then enjoy the videos down below showing how great this is. To me, it's a 100% Siri killer! Moving on, we have the same Speech to Text service in an Online mode that has Artificial intelligence. While dictating, it can make sense of the whole passage of text and correct itself if it made a blunder. There's another video for this, enjoy!

Google Now VS Siri
Google Now: Stress Test (47 Questions in a go!)

Tons left to go haha! Ok, so next up we have Automatic Re sizable Widgets. So if you go to the Widget drawer and drag the clock for example to a Home screen that is filled, the apps/widgets will move around creating the space needed for the Clock to be placed!

After that the AMAZING Notification system that we have has been upgraded to provide slightly more detail and it is more dynamic as well which helps you get an easy overall of what is going on in your Inbox, or if someone sent you a picture, you can actually view it in the Notification area.

Then the best part is...the CONSTANT 60FPS while using the UI. On the lockscreen to home screen to app drawer the UI is fluid...just like water. While browsing the web, the browser doesn't glitch and performs smoothly. This was simply referred to by Critiques, that Android got rid of the LAG. Yes, it is here! Now, Jelly Bean's SDK is already available while the Official OTA is coming soon in July however, if you seriously can't wait to meet epicness, XDA Developers have already ported it over to the GSM Galaxy Nexi.

The list is still long to go, so please take a look at the Developer page to read through all changes made :)
http://developer.android.com/about/versions/jelly-bean.html

_________________________________________________________________________________

After that great news we had the Nexus 7 unboxing and we will definitely make a video unboxing and review once we get ours, which should be shipping in about 2-3 weeks.

Like the leaked specs indicated, everything is the same with the confirmation of no Micro SD as well as no mini HDMI out. Thinking about it, that's how they could cut the costs! $199 for the 8GB and $249 for the 16GB. Rumors have already begun for the Nexus 10 stating that it's in production already so hope that's true :D

You can go to the Play store and preorder the 7 right now! It is available in North America, UK, Australia and a few additional countries.

https://play.google.com/store/devices/details?id=nexus_7_8gb

On the page, it will highlight all the perks of getting the Nexus 7 and I have to say, that it is quite tempting! By default it is running a hybrid like UI. With the navbar and dock but on XDA Developers there is an easy method of making it into a Full Tablet mode!

That's all for the IO that I found was interesting. There was also the Nexus Q but I seriously find no need to discuss it as it will serve no purpose for me. To summarize, it is an Android based device for $299 that can play content from the Google Cloud services such as Play Music, Movies etc. Anyway, that's a wrap ;)
This post is gonna talk about the newly leaked "Official" specs and photos of the upcoming Google Nexus 7 tablet. Coming from the rumored specs, it is pretty much else spot on so let's begin!

Image from Gizmodo Australia

It is indeed a 7" display but with a twist! It's an IPS panel with a resolution of 1280 by 800 (Pretty slick for a 7" Tablet!). After that we have the nVida Tegra 3 Quad core and this is where it surprises me. It actually will have the identical processor of the ASUS TF300 series, which is clocked at 1.3GHz. It will come with 1GB RAM just like the rumors said and the front facing camera is 1.2MP so slightly "less" than the rumor. A cool addition is the NFC Chip capability which still has much more time to improve and become awesome-r. The internal SD card memory is either 8GB for $199 and 16GB for $249. As of now, we're still not too sure about the MicroSD however, Google I/O starts tomorrow so, we can all wait patiently :D

That's all for today! I will keep you guys posted in the event tomorrow and I might also talk about the New Google TV, yay!
This post will be a summary of all news surrounding the Google Nexus tablet. Quick note, this isn't part of the "Big Five Nexus Devices" but a cheap Android tablet which will be carrying the latest Android system. Take a look at a "supposed" leaked picture and take a look at a Mock up. In my opinion, they both look good :)

Leaked Picture...Note: Turns out it's a fake!

Mock Up...Note: Not the ASUS Memo Pad!

Plenty of websites have already talked about the rumored specs and most probably it is true. The tablet will be co-manufactured by Google and ASUS. It will be 7" with the resolution of 1280 by 768. What this means is that you will be able to watch 720p videos and the remainder of the Res will be for the bottom Navbar, again just speculation! It will have an nVidia Tegra 3 quad core, most likely an even less clocked than the ASUS TF300, so I'm guessing 1GHz. Followed by 1GB RAM which is a pretty sweet addition. In terms of Camera, they removed the back one and I love that idea...I mean seriously? You want me to take pictures with a Tablet, cmon! However, it will include a 1.3MP front facing camera which would be meant for Video calling. Now, we all know that it will come with Ice Cream Sandwich BUT with the anticipated Jelly Bean release, it might actually come with it too. The rumored name is the Nexus 7 and this makes me believe that by some chance there might be a Nexus 10, fingers crossed :D

I wish for Chrome might become the Default browser for Android real soon and I hope that at the I/O, Google will announce the Full release of the app. I love it so far, the speed is amazing, the look is simple and clean but I would also like Flash support since most websites still use "Adobe technology."

That's all for this slight wrap up on the Nexus 7. Stay tuned for more news on the Google I/O!

I'm so sorry peoples! I have been caught up in work and couldn't find enough time to keep this updated. NOW, this will definitely change, I'll save some time for you peeps and provide my opinion on the latest news! So, without waiting for too long, let's get started :D

My Next Phone
So, it turns out that I will be "Upgrading" my phone soon and the device that stands out for me is the Samsung Galaxy SIII, Android's Top dog for 2012. Sadly though, I will be getting the North American version which is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Dual Core Krait CPU...which is not bad at all, being clocked at 1.5GHz and kicking ass in the Benchmarks but I would have loved the awesome Quad core Exynos. GPU wise, it is slightly better than the average phone with the Adreno 225. Anywho, that's what I'll be getting soon so expect an UBOXING, a ROOTING video guide and Custom ROMs :D

Oh btw, it just got released in the US on June 20th and in Canada it's gonna show up on the 27th...hope I can get mine then!

Android 4.1 aka Jelly Bean
I hope you guys are not as surprised as I was when I saw Google's slight slip up on the Play Store. For a while now, you are able to buy an Unlocked "Pure" Galaxy Nexus from the Play Store in the US. Just today, the description when you went yo add one to your basket was, "The latest smartphone from Google, soon the first phone with Android 4.1, Jelly Bean"

Well, that's quite a slip up so most probably this will be displayed at Google I/O 2012. In terms of Rumors go, the only one that was constantly floating around was the Dual Booting into Chrome OS but again, we have no 100% proof.

That's all that's going on at this moment BUT I will definitely bring you updates on the Google I/O which is gonna be up and running from the 27th to the 29th.

Hey peoples! MAN, I seriously need to allocate more of my time for you guys :D

So, this is just a quick round up on the great leaked announcement. Google, will be getting really busy this fall. Firstly, we have the 2012 I/O event which is gonna be epic! They will cover Android, Chrome, Google+ and the remainder of Google products. That's 3 days of Google bliss :P

Anyway, back to Android! It all began with HTC's Nexus One, then we moved to Samsung with the Nexus S, and Samsung came around again for the Galaxy Nexus. However, this time the BIG G has something else planned. He is aiming to get up to 5 devices ready this fall. Five brand new Nexus products which will be sold on the Play Store. Yes, on the Google Online Play Store ALSO btw if you live in the U.S, you can get a fresh Galaxy Nexus, unlocked, for $399. So go ahead and save $200 from those damn Carriers.

So, these magical, futuristic devices may be phones or tablets. No confirmed source for that one. The biggest rumor is of course, about ASUS making the first Jelly Bean Tablet. Some supposed specs include a 7" HD display, a Tegra 3 Quad core SoC (System on Chip) and of course the other jazz such as Camera, Micro SD etc. Going back to the Nexus devices, they will...again, supposedly, come with Jelly Bean, Android 5.0.

Android 5.0, is said to be able to dual boot your device straight into Chrome OS, which is a Fully functional Browser, with Flash 11.2 support as well as Google products such as GMail, Maps, Drive in Online and Offline modes. I think that it's a pretty neat feature, judging by the 3 second cold boot up :D

So, what do you guys think? I personally LOVE this idea! In the end, nothing beats a Pure Google device.

My speculations include the following Manufacturers:
Samsung
LG
HTC
ASUS (Most likely true)
Motorola...I know...but that's just because Google owns the company lol

SOURCE: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702304371504577406511931421118.html

Samsung Galaxy SIII Unveiled!

Hello peoples! Hope you are doing fine, today Samsung announced their Flagship device of 2012...yes...finally after all the hype and leaked thingamagijs, we have the Galaxy SIII. Let's get into it :D

Props to Engadget for the Pics

So basic specs right off the bat include a 4.8" SuperAMOLED HD display with Gorilla Glass 2. GG2 can handle more pressure than the OG, and it is 14% thinner. Next up we move to the CPU and my "wish" becomes a reality! It is using a Samsung Exynos Quad core chip clocked at 1.4GHz. Benchmark wise, this CPU is dangerously powerful and bites approximately all devices to dust. I actually wanna see it go against LG's flagship, the G4X HD which comes with the Tegra 3. After that we have the usual 1GB of RAM which should technically suffice for any apps you like running simultaneously. We also have an 8MP camera which films 1080P but can also takes Pictures while recording. Basically the Software part of the Camera has been updated to contain some sweet features. The front facing camera has been upgraded to a 1.9MP HD one so video calling would be....very realistic lol

Moving on, the cool features with this device includes a WIRELESS CHARGING station...mind blowing right? And in order to NOT disappoint us, Samsung has included a Removal 2150mAH battery as well as a Micro SD card slot. The 3 sizes available are 16, 32 and even a 64GB model. Lastly we have the device in 2 colors, White and Blue.

Samsung tried real hard in the software department for this release. TouchWiz has been redesigned and of course the ICS goodies are baked in. Another trick they had under their sleeve was the "S" apps. One example is S Voice, which is a Siri like app. You can tell your phone, to Turn on and it will obey. One more example is SmartStay, which uses the Front Facing camera to see if you are looking at the screen. If yes, it will turn on and if not, BOOM, it turns off, so battery savings for the Win!

If you would like to get the SGSIII, it will be available on the 29th of May 2012, so just round the corner! And all new users will get 50GB of Cloud storage with Dropbox for 2 years, so that's a plus :)

NOW, the cherry on the cake, is the Cheesy Commercial for the Samsung Galaxy SIII...hope you like it :P

It's a really long time since i had something out and felt that I need to keep you guys up to speed :)

So, from now onwards I'll try to get stuff out more regularly and hope that you will like them! LET'S BEGIN!

ASUS is back in the news today as they announced their new Transformer Tablet to be on sale on April 22nd. It is the TF300 and it is a "cheaper" model of the Prime. As a whole it is definitely a gorgeous device and even price wise, it is pretty sweet. Starting off with the spec. It comes with an nVida Tegra 3 Quad core chip, clocked at 1.2GHz which is slightly less than the Prime clocked at 1.4. It is of course a 10.1" IPS display with 325nits. Versus the Prime which is IPS+ at 600 Nits... and trust me the Prime's display is blindingly bright. Moving on, it comes with the 1GB of DDR3 RAM, which is sweet as this is a first in the tablet market. P.S. The iPad is still on DDR2 ;)

There are 2 versions, one has 16GB of internal memory and the other has 32GB and their prices are ridiculous! $379 for the former and $399 for the latter. PEOPLE, be smart and add the 20 bucks cause you never know when you will need more space :D

Oh, also the only color available right now is BLUE. But the White and Red versions will be out at the end of May, start of June. It is currently available for Pre-order at Staples.ca and will be delivered on the 10th of May.

SAMSUNG TIME...again...

The Supposed Galaxy SIII in a Fake plastic case

So recently quite a lot of buzz has surfaced about the upcoming Galaxy phone. The hype is huge and the people, like you guys, can't stop talking about it. So as a little teaser for you folks, there's a YouTube video from Vietnam that contains what looks like the mockup. It seems the device is placed inside of a plastic case to conceal the actual appearance of the final product. In the video the specs for this "hidden" device is said to have a 4.6" Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1184 by 720 which is close to 720p (1280 X 720). Again that's just an approximation. In the video it shows that the CPU is Samsung made, a Quad core clocked at 1.4GHz. Most likely this is correct, I mean, I hope so, since the Exynos chips are pretty awesome. Next we have the Camera. In the video it shows it is 8MP however, on AMAZON.de under the pre-order it mentions a 12MP camera. No further confirmation for that. It also comes with a MicroSD card slot. That's all we have for this device BUT fear not, the official announcement is coming soon.

Been a while since anything interesting popped up in the world of Android. BUT fear not, below are some of the cooler things going on at the moment. Hope you will like it :)

So SAMSUNG! Last post we showed the leaked picture of the SIII and I gotta say that it looked really slick. Again, was kinda disappointed since there was still a physical button instead of on screen ones. Anyway, this time I got another "promo" poster and so far it looks legit. Take a look:

NOTE: In this one pic it seems that the Center button is not there...Who knows what Samsung is planning?

Now, Moving on the GOOGLE...

They announced that they would try to get some proper tablets for a sweet price of $199. As of right now, there's only 2 pieces of info. The first is that the pricing is $249 and not as low as $199. The second is that Google will delay it to July. However, that is no issue since it is a Tegra 3 Platform. Also the manufacturers WILL be Asus and MIGHT be Samsung as well.

ASUS:

Asus seems to be on a roll! They have stuck to their word and will release the Padfone on April 20th...Coming down to price, it is a premium $610! Then the Station aka Tablet screen would be $240 and the Keyboard extension for $130...The makes a grand total of $980!!! Yes that hurts your wallet a LOT. But I hope that ASUS will realize that fact and drop the price...

If you do happen to buy this amazing device, Asus will bundle it with the sick Bluetooth Headset/Stylus as well as an extended phone battery.

They also announced a dongle to fix the GPS issues in the Prime. That dongle will fit seamlessly at the bottom of the Prime by the dock connector and supposedly will increase the ability for the Satellites to lock on. This will be FREE for any one who has bought a Transformer Prime. More info will be up soon on how to set this up.

HTC:

HTC just got happy since they announced the ONE series and now they are available. If you have a budget, I suggest to wait this through since their flagship 2012 device, the ONE X is gonna cost a hefty $800! But if that is no issue, go on ahead and enjoy the new tech. Also it has already been ROOTED :D

Team Cyanogen:

CM9 has been on a roll and then after a while the updates dropped because of lack of Server requirments. The amount of Code that they were processing was too much for the really deezed servers they had. But fear not, they will gradually get back on their feet and provide an awesome Upgraded ROM. The news though is that Team Cyanogen decided to change their mascot, from the traditional Blue Andy to a newly designed character that represents their ROMs. He is called CID, Cyanogen I.D. Tale a look below:

Been a while since I posted some exciting news, and actually the post today is about 3 days old or so, but work's been piling up and I joined a gym ;)

Anyway, let's get straight to the point. Supposedly...the picture of one of the most anticipated Android devices this year has been leaked. Yes, the Samsung Galaxy SIII. As of right now, there is only one picture and that contains some pretty awesome info. It states to "Watch the Unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy SIII on May 22nd." That's not too far away I guess?

The phone at first glance seems EXTREMELY thin, and I can't even wrap my head around that...how can they fit such amazing technology in such a small frame! Note to be taken, it seems that it still includes a Home button and a kinda nice touch is the dedicated Camera key, on the Right side. The rumored specs are still vague and no one really knows what the final product is gonna actually look like or what specs it will have.

As of right now, big rumors indicate a Quad core...DUH! 2012 is the reign of the Quad Core phones! So we are gonna see that for sure. I have a feeling it will be an Exynos Quad core chip but again, Samsung might just use the Qualcomm S4 Pro, an obvious Quad Core CPU with the Adreno 320 GPU which can match the Tegra 3 in performance :D

For the other specs, it might include a 720p screen like the gorgeous Galaxy Nexus. Might have a 12MP camera with 1080p recording. Might have an internal memory of 32GB AND have a MicoSD card slot, which will be epic. Last but not least, NFC chip and LTE connectivity.

The whole package of this amazing device does cause me to drool, but anything is possible and it might actually change throughout the official launch, so I guess sit tight and watch.

ASUS again! With Jelly Bean?

Hey folks! Work has been draining my freaking life force! Anyway, it's been a while since I posed something up and today I got some interesting rumor. Of course...it's a rumor so do not get tooooo excited, like me
(-_-)"

So, a few weeks back a rumor surfaced about the Galaxy Nexus Tab...or basically a Pure Google Tablet and I made a post suggesting that there is a high chance that it would be made by Samsung...BUT now the rumor has shifted and the supposed Jelly Bean, aka Android 5.0 First Tablet will be an ASUS one.

Asus has won several awards for innovation and technology for the Transformer and then the Prime. Also just recently they announced the Padfone, Infinity Series as well as the 300 Series. Those are all amazing devices...but it all boils down to price. The 300 Series is rumored to being sold at $300 which is awesome for a Quad Core tablet! However, Asus didn't stop there. They announced the Memo Pad, which is a Tegra 3 Based Quad Core 7" Tablet at the delicious price of $250...Now, the new rumor begins...

The Amazon kindle fire sold 5million of them in 2011, the year it got launched and also not at the start of the year but more of approaching the end of 2011. Asus and Google will supposedly team up, to produce a Quad Core Tablet, running the FIRST Android 5.0, so Jelly Bean AND the price would be $200, like the Amazon Kindle Fire.

Google must have felt that if they don't act to fast, people might just switch to the Custom Android OS for the Fire. All that's left is for us to wait and see what's coming up this year. There is the Google I/O event in Q2 of this year, let's see what it will unveil for us!

<link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/blogspot/blUMN/~3/M8mOcr1hYD0/asus-again-with-jelly-bean.html" title="ASUS again!

Hey folks...if you have been here a few times you may have noticed that I have a great admiration for Asus products. I have an Asus Laptop and a 24" LCD Monitor and could not have been more pleased BUT today, they bring the Future closer to us.

ASUS announced 4 new items at today's MWC 2012 at Barcelona, and even though I had a hint to what was coming up, I was left jaw hanging after the announcement. So without further a due, here's the juicy news:

ASUS Padfone:
There were plenty of rumors about this majestic device but there were never any 100% details on what this thing contained. At CES 2012 we witnessed the first working Prototype which seemed pretty damn good for a first release. The phone part was 4.3" with a Tegra 3 Quad Core chip with 1GB of RAM as well as 8GB internal memory with an 8MP camera. The phone also had Capacitive buttons of Menu, Home, Back and Search. The Tab was simply a 10.1" IPS display.

The newly redesigned Padfone brings a unison to the Beauty of Ice Cream Sandwich and the amazing Transformer Prime. Both parts were equally redesigned with the Spun Aluminum finish which is simply striking, and for the Phone, the Capacitive buttons were replaced with On-Screen ones. The Tablet was upgraded to a Super AMOLED qHD display...which is 2560 by 1440...yes better than 1080p! Now back to the "fone" it will not come with an Nvidia Tegra 3 but with the amazing Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Dual Core chip. I know that I bash Snapdragon a lot for their slow and cheaply made chips BUT the S4 actually has such a great improvement that it is on Par with the Tegra 3's GPU :D

As a whole, that makes the Padfone...or does it? NO!!! The Padfone will also have the ability to attach a Keyboard Dock! Basically extending the Battery life even more as well as providing some more I/O ports. The Padfone doesn't even stop there! It can also come with an Asus designed Bluetooth 4.0 enabled Stylus Pressure Pen. This can be used to draw and write whatever the hell you want...however it can also be used as a Bluetooth connectivity for Calling!!! It has an Ear piece and a Mic so you can constantly be connected... In the end, the Padfone with the 10.1" Tablet screen and the Keyboard dock will allow up to 9X, so 9 times more battery life than a normal 1 charge cycle for the phone only!

Is that enough for you or would you like some more Asus news...Let's move on!

ASUS Transformer Infinity 700 Series:
Next we have the TOP DOG of tablets. This will come with never seen before technology based on the Arm v15 CPU, so technically the most powerful chip at the time of release and the highest level of Qualcomm's S4 chip. It will have a 1920 by 1080 resolution supporting Full HD as well as a Super IPS+ display having 600nits for Brightness. As usual it will come with great Sonic Master sound and a Fujitsu designed 8MP camera with a 5 Element Lens and an Aperture of 2.2. Yep, definitely a beast. Oh, maybe I forgot, but it will be the FIRST Tablet on the Market to have LTE Support!

ASUS Transformer 300 Series:
This is the first affordable Quad Core tablet on the Market. It will come in different colors as well as have WiMAX LTE Sim Card support which will allow up to 75Mbps Download Speeds...Mobile Networking wise 75Mbps is EPIC. Too bad for Canada though as LTE is still under construction and will be showing up end of the year or Quarter one of 2013.

ASUS Transformer Prime 701 Series:
This is the Full HD version of the Prime also known as the TF700T. It will have a new Back Plate cover instead of the traditional Aluminum Spun finish so as to improve Wifi, Bluetooth and GPS signals.

Last but not least, the first availability for the Asus Padfone is April 2012! And that is NOT an April Fool's joke :P

Also, watch the amazing Conference that Johnny Sinh, the Asus Chairman made. I have to say that this guy is simply amazing!

So, it's still a beautiful Sunday night here in North America, BUT in Barcelona the day has begun and the MWC was kicked off. Many companies came to showcase their future Releases and let's begin!

Starting off with Samsung again, like I mentioned last time, they said that they would have their own showcase in the future where they would announce the Samsung Galaxy SIII which is one of the most anticipated phone for this year. Now, Samsung wasn't empty handed though, they actually showed off 3 notable items...personally I only considered 2 but I'll share all of em.

SAMSUNG:

First is the Samsung Galaxy Beam which like it sounds, shoots a beam of light...can you guess what it shoots? Well, it's basically a Projector within a phone! So far, the specs of the device are nothing new so the normal Dual Core CPU clocked at 1GHz and 1GB of RAM. It also comes with an 8MP camera and an 8GB internal storage. As you can see, not the most exciting news out there. The projector itself is said to be able to support up to 40" in 1080p...which I firmly doubt, since we are not that far in Projector Technology where we still have to pay close to $1500-2000 to actually get a decent HD projector. Here is sneak peak at the device design, and a Link to the hands on at Engadget.com: http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/26/samsung-galaxy-beam-hands-on-at-mwc-2012/

Moving on, Samsung also announced the Galaxy Note...however a 10.1" Tablet version! So it is a 10.1" phone with the incredible pressure activated Stylus Pen. Seems pretty decent to me, Simply get a Bluetooth headset and you are good to go!

Lastly, they announced the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 ...which is a 10.1" version of the first 7" 3G based tablet. It actually has the same specs which are a disappointment and really, I think it's a waste because who would want a Single core 1GHz tablet? What are you gonna run? Minesweeper? I mean, even the Camera is sad being 3MP...I think that this was a bad move UNLESS...it costs so cheap that they break record sales...if it's between $199 - $250, I'd be sold, solely because of the Price. If I had the money, definitely without a doubt, I'd never get this.

HTC:
I gotta say...HTC blew my mind this time! I am not an avid fan of HTC mainly because I hate Sense and that is the only reason, people would get an HTC. Well, this time they have learned a big lesson. They announced the new Series ONE and displayed all of the devices including all of the specs! The One S, V, X and XL...yes a newer one called the XL...not like it actually means, like a huge display...simply means it's for AT&T (-__-)"

The One X, HTC's Next Flagship Phone

Anyway, since there's too much info on these guys, I got the link to the Full Specs of all of them on GSMArena.com and I gotta say, good job HTC for actually caring about your customers giving a redesigned Sense 4.0 which takes a lot of Stock style as well as unlocking all Bootloader's with a tool which does Void your Warranty but it is worth it ;)

HTC One S
HTC One V
HTC One X
HTC One XL

Quick head's up, the devices are all coming with Beats Audio which adds a nice touch as well as displaying the new Corning Gorilla Glass 2. The cherry on the cake for the One Series is...drumroll...a free 2 Yr subscription on Dropbox, giving you 25GB of Cloud Storage :D

SONY:

The U

The P

After divorcing and eating Ericsson, Sony felt really happy and while in their good mood they announced a few phones. I have to say as well that the new Sony line of phones look simply gorgeous. You can see that they want you to buy a phone and just be amazed at how beautifully crafted that device is. They announced the Xperia U and P after announcing the ION and Xperia S. The U is the the "starter" edition with a Dual core 1GHz, a 5MP camera and a 3.7" display. While the P has an 8MP camera and a 4" display. They will both come with 8GB storage. Nice thing about the P is the magnificent Aluminum finish, basically a full metal Body. While the U will come with a Textured rubber like grip at the bottom, available in a few colors. For the P, you will be able to get brushed colors like Matte Black and Maroon.

LG:

Life's Good...LG was also pretty excited and actually announced slightly more stuff than HTC. They displayed the wonderful LG 4X HD, the Tegra 3 powered Smartphone as well as the L series 3, 5 and 7. Many more pictures were released and specs wise, there are no definite answers to them but they still look great. As for what LG did...they simply stole Samsung's look and that is why the design is so great :P

They also announced the Vu, with a 4:3 aspect ratio...and it still baffles my mind...anyway, they've spent a decent amount on money on those phone designs so they must have a reason.

Here's a family portrait as well as a Link to all of the Hand-Ons:

http://www.gsmarena.com/lgs_mwc_2012_lineup_gets_the_handson_treatment-news-3881.php

Oh, they also announced the Optimus 3D Max but frankly I know 3D is gonna die for Mobile Platforms...and also Samsung backed up this thought by saying that...it will definitely die this end of year!

Last but not least, our Chinese Manufacturers ZTE and Huawei... Not much to say except great specs in a cheaply designed body at a very affordable price. I mean, I haven't really owned one, so I wouldn't know how bad or good those brands are...however all my friends who have owned a Huawei have hated and cursed it...so yea...buy it at your own risk! Specs wise, so that you may drool, they did announce Tegra 3 devices, so at least they are Matching the current market. Here is a page with a bunch of Pics, and announcements: http://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_announces_the_ascend_d_quad-news-3890.php

That's all folks! Tune in later this week for more Mobile World Congress news!

Been busy with work but I couldn't let this juicy news go by! So MWC, aka Mobile World Congress with start on Monday the 27th of Feb until the end of the week, and the chosen place is Barcelona..Spain...yes that far away :(

Anyway, there's been a bunch of rumors of what will be shown at this massive event. Many sneak peaks of devices have been released and be prepared for amazement.

So first up is Samsung...oh how you disappoint us all...They stated that they will not announce any new device at the event and will have their own "Samsung Smartphone Event" and that's where most probably the Galaxy SIII will be seen. Moving on...

LG seemed really excited about the upcoming event and have already announced 4 new devices! A brand new "L Series lineup" which comprises of the L7, L5 and L3. Just like an i3, i5 and i7 Intel Processor, the specs and quality of the phones improve quite nicely from one to the other. The L3 will have a 3.2" screen and will ship with Ginger Bread however will have ICS support later this year. As for the L5 and L7, they will have 4" and 4.3" screens respectively. Also these devices are aimed to be a "Premium device" where it will have a slim and trim Metallic body and have like a Leather-styled back panel. Another cool feature of these phones, is a new Technology called "Floating Mass Display" which basically make the icons and all images appear closer to the screen...so it looks nicer? I guess? I have no clue how that would improve anything.

Now, LG didn't stop there! They fully announced the LG X3..well, now it's gonna be called the LG 4X HD! Yes, you guessed it...2X was a dual core...so 4X must be quad core...yes..it is...Not only that, but the HD indicates the gorgeous 720p display it will have as well as a huge 4.7" screen. And it seems that LG is not keen on having on screen Keys so, the Capacitive buttons stay...minus the Search button.

Time for Japan now! Fujitsu basically said...you know what, we are simply gonna pack the most inside of a phone and voila! They have a Tegra 3 Quad Core phone, with 1GB RAM, a 13MP Camera with 1080p video, an NFC chip and it is Water&Dust resistant...oh I forgot, it will also have a freakin FINGERPRINT SCANNER. I got to hand it down to the Japanese...this phone will be EPIC!

Lastly, HTC promises there new lineup called "One." So they plan to unveil the HTC One V, HTC One S and HTC One X (The Edge > Endeavor). V will be a very sweet device, with low level specs like a Single Core clocked at 1GHz, most likely a Qualcomm, then a 5MP camera with 720p support as well as beats audio, basically a really good device for a great price! The S is a dual core and it is known as the HTC Ville, the first Sense 4.0 device. And the X, like many times mentioned before, a Tegra 3 chip. Of course, all of these "One's" will come with ICS out of the box :D

That's all for the Sneak Peak, I'll keep you guys updated while the Event goes live next week!

So the Surprise was..?

Hey Folks! Got some juicy stories today! Actually 1 juicy story, 1 announcement and 1 statement...i guess?

Let's get to it! First let's talk about High Tech Computers, yes, that is what HTC stands for...so remember the first HTC Quad Core phone codenamed the Edge? Well, it seems that HTC changed the naming about 2 weeks ago to HTC Endeavor which seemed kinda cool. Now, they are changing it again and this time it is going to be called the HTC OneX and that seems pretty badass to me. It also might be a lineup and I hope that they actually DO start a Series. They tried it once with the "Desire" S and Z etc. but never kept it like LG with the "Optimus" and Samsung with the "Galaxy" series. That's 1 statement down. I announcement and Juicy story left!

Sony Ericsson is finally done! Sony has finished the deal of buying the Ericsson stock over. They will now be labelled as Sony Mobile Communications and we already got a taste of this name with the Sony Xperia ION and Sony Xperia S, which by the way are pretty darn gorgeous phones, if I may say :D

Now...the moment of reckoning! As of right now, 1% of the Market has obtained Ice Cream Sandwich and throughout 2012 we will be able to get even more devices with the new OS legally...or even illegally (Joke, since it is all Open Sourced). Well, this new release has NOT stopped Google from working and we might actually get a chance to witness Google's Android Jelly Bean! Yes people, this is a very backed up rumor or from a very close source and he/she states that Google will unveil the new OS at the I/O Developer Event. Android 5.0 is basically all ICS with even more added features and tweaks. It will support all phones as from 2012 year production as well as all tablets and also moving onto Netbooks with the OS being installed. A new distinguished feature will be the ability to Dual Boot your Phone/Tablet/Netbook with Google's Other OS, Chrome OS!!! I have to say that Chrome OS simply mimics Chrome in being light and blazing fast. Complete booted up and logged in with 15sec is amazing, also a full Chrome browser with integrated Add-ons and full Google suite so Voice, Maps, Translate, Docs etc.

I have to say I am excited for this preview and can't wait! The I/O event will take place at the end of Quarter 2 of this year so stay tuned :D

HelloMoto announces ICS and LG X3 Benchmarks!

HEY folks! After bad mouthing Motorola for not announcing any ICS release dates...they finally did! So Motorola says that a few devices will have the new OS at the end of Quarter 2. Some phones and tablets that got pushed to the Q3 mark include the Droid Razr/MAXX, the Atrix/2 as well as the newly released Xyboard. Anyway, as long as you know you are getting the upgrade, there won't be a rush to buy a newer phone!

Now moving on to some really epic news...Remember the First LG Quad Core phone I mentioned before? The X3? Well, some more news has surfaced and this time, we have benchmarks. I have to say this phone is a BEAST. Running a 1.4GHz NVidia Tegra 3 Quad-Core chip with 16GB internal, with a MicroSD slot is very nice too. It also has an AH-IPS display, just a fancy name for Super IPS Plus, but also in a great 4.7" screen with a 720p resolution! Who said only the Galaxy Nexus had a 720p display ;)

Last but not least, it will come with the same 8MP camera with LED Flash and this time it will have a 1.3MP front Facing camera, so next time you have a video chat or use Google+ Hangouts, you wouldn't be in a pixelated quality :P

As for when it is getting released, no confirmed date but rumors say end of Q2. I have the G2x and I am very pleased with the Phone itself. It has the Tegra 2 which 'was' great etc. but I was not at all impressed with the LG Support for this device...The updates were dreading for a long time and moving slowly, the actual Updating tool bricked my phone, so quite a few issues there. I just hope when the X3 get's released it will have a decent support from the Manufacturer.

Oh, before I end, the LG X3 will be the first phone to come right out of the box with ICS 4.0.3, which is another plus :D

That's all for today! Stay tuned for some more opinion based news! Work has been draining most of my energy and I wasn't able to post anything for quite a while, and to be exact...13 days... yay for the number 13...

Anyway, I did some research and will basically summarize what's goin on in the wonderful world of Android. Also a quick teaser...for our YouTube channel, we will have some real exciting stuff coming soon, so stay tuned :D

So without further a due let's begin:

Ice Cream Sandwich:

ICS pops up again with many many Android users questioning when they will be getting it! HTC finally confirmed that the Sensation and XE will be having a fully functional release at the end of March also for a few other models.

As for ASUS, they promised ICS on the Original Transformer, TF101 within the first week of Feb...I guess it's not happening. They re-made a statement saying that it will arrive at the end of this month, so let's cross our fingers and hope they keep to their word.

As for Samsung and LG, the Major South Korean companies haven't laid a date except mentioning, flagship devices at the end of Quarter 2 and the rest in Quarter 3. Note to be taken, the Original Galaxy Tab and Galaxy S will not be officially supported because of some BS reason Samsung thought of, however fear not as Developers have successfully ported a very functional ROM for the GS.

Sony on the other hand promised to cover ALL of the 2011 phones so the Xperia x10, Arc, Arc S etc. will supposedly have ICS...No date given as well. Finally Motorola...they have given no exact statement or any info of when and what device will have ICS.

Google:

The big G had some issues recently about a Google Wallet exploit that would not encrypt the PIN inserted whenever the app was used. It was meant to use a 256bit AES however, the app had a bug that simply stored the PIN as mere data. They have already put the service on hold and have been working to get a fix as soon as possible also they are aiming to make it even more secure.

Google's purchase of Motorola Mobility has been officially completed and now we can expect HeloMoto to step up their game. Who knows, maybe the next Google Nexus will be made by Motorola...? PSYCHE

There have been rumors that the FIRST Jelly Bean (Tentative title) phone will be made by HTC. I just hope that it will be able to live the hype!

HTC:

This one HTC worker had a still-in-testing HTC Ville, the first HTC phone with ICS and Sense 4.0...and he posted a video (very pixelated, sorry) on the rough changes. Stupidly enough, he showed the Device Serial Number, IMEI number as well as his freakin phone number...My guess he got fired and might actually get sued by HTC...

Another update, Engadget.com got some awesome HD leaks of Sense 4.0 and as of now...it looks the same lol

Got some very important news! Recently on the Android Market, there have been a few "developers" games that are considered as Malware/Spyware. First of all the app will be installed on your phone and function normally with a sudden "Search Icon" floating around the screen. You can close it by simply tapping on it but again it pops up and the cycle continues. Each time that icon appears it steals whatever info you have just presented to the app and it also takes a look at other data available on the phone such as Browsing History, Favorites etc. Luckily there are no issues involving credit cards and that is a relief! As for how reliable it is, Symantec were the ones to inform Google of this issue. Below are a list of apps currently considered to be Malware. Please at all costs stay away from the following:

Counter Elite Force

Counter Strike Ground Force

CounterStrike Hit Enemy

Heart Live Wallpaper

Hit Counter Terrorist

Stripper Touch girl

Balloon Game

Deal & Be Millionaire

Wild Man

Pretty women lingerie puzzle

Sexy Girls Photo Game

Sexy Girls Puzzle

Sexy Women Puzzle

Also any other app made by the following "developers" are considered Malware as well:

iApps7, Ogre Games and redmicapps

In the end...DO NOT install them, and if you already have, UNINSTALL them as soon as possible! Now, if you can't seem to be able to uninstall, simply get an uninstaller app which will force remove it. So, in the end we learned one thing...You can't really escape from Spyware/Malware, just be careful with whatever service you are using such as the Interwebs or your trusty Android Device!

Latest Videos and my ramblings!

Hey folks! Not much buzz around ICS these days...I am constantly wondering when will I get to have ICS for my device...and there is still no answer. However, my buddy and his Sensation have been tasting a BUNCH of Sandwiches. He has tasted the Vanilla (Stock ICS, AOSP based, Virtuous Inquisition/Quattro) and the one with Sense 3.6 Vanilla plus Chocolate chip (ICS parts and Sense 3.6, Insert Coin, RCMix and Android Revolution HD)!

Anyway, we got 2 videos out this weekend. One is another overview of Android Revolution HD. The version is 6.2.1 and it has some major updates from the previous overview of 6.0.2. So check it out!

Next we have a mini tutorial on How To Flash a Kernel and the phone we used was my LG G2x from T-Mobile, not to get confused with the Optimus 2x.
Some crazy rumor or more of leaked news, LG kinda announced their first Quad Core phone to compete with the HTC Edge and Zeta. The date of release is unknown but is expected at the end of Quarter 2 of 2012. Why even install ICS on my G2x which was the first Dual Core phone, I might as well get LG's first Quad Core phone :3

...Let's not get ahead of ourselves! SO the specs are said to be a Nvidia Tegra 3 Quad Core (duh!) chip clocked at 1.3GHz, 16GB internal storage with micro-SD. Camera stayed as the usual so 8MP with flash for 1080p recording but it will have a 1.3MP front facing camera, which would work beautifully with Face Unlock (Yes, it will be shipped with Ice Cream Sandwich!) It also has a gorgeous 720p display on a 4.7" screen. It will have an NFC chip as well allowing you to enjoy Google Wallet and MasterCard/Visa Pay Pass! LG promises that it will be thin and the battery life will be improved, and that being said, 9mm thick and a 2000mAH Li-Ion Battery :)

This phone is supposedly called the LG X3...but it might change so let's wait until more official news come out before already deciding to buy it...Anyway, that's all the "interesting" news I got for you today, the weekend's tomorrow, we gotta get some videos done :D

Android...Having a Slow 2012 Start

So, we just entered the new year, and CES just ended but still the only MAJOR news that all Android users want to hear is "WHEN AM I GETTING ICS?" ... not anytime soon it seems. Before, I go on, Hello peoples!

Ice Cream Sandwich, Android 4.0.3 has been released for about 3-4 months. Since the release of the Source Code, Developers have been working and trying their best to crack this puzzle of how to port the new OS over. Many phones have already had some Alpha builds, some have progressed to a Beta stage while others haven't even tasted the Sandwich. Team Cyanogen have gotten over 1Million users which is amazing! They promise that all CM7 users WILL definitely get their next version, CyanogenMod 9. They also added a few new devices to the family such as the Amazon Kindle Fire and the HP Touchpad.

Most companies stated that by Q2 of 2012 they will be rolling out the Ice Cream and some other companies say by Q3...which does kinda suck...Thankfully though, Tablets seem to be getting ICS much easier and faster, a few examples are the Asus Transformer Prime as well as the First Gen will get it beginning of Feb and the Motorola Xoom.

I am impatiently waiting for ICS to be ported to all or most devices and I also can't wait for Jelly Bean...I know I know...I'm a greedy person what can I say?

Rumors state that Jelly Bean (not finalized name) contains MASSIVE improvements and actually some of them were previously on ICS but removed because Google is Evil and they want us all to wait even longer. I speak the truth lol

Anyway, since there isn't much news and you might be tired after reading my ramblings...feast your eyes on my latest Boot Animation.
