Trends for Fall & Winter [VFW]

I had the pleasure of attending Vancouver Fashion Week for the Fall/Winter 2013 collections on two nights. I really enjoyed taking in the stunning collections of the various designers.

A few trends that I think are must haves for the fall and winter season are leather pants, unique prints and fringe as well as many more that are in the pictures below. Lace detail and peplum are super hot right now and I think that they will continue into the next season.

Below are some of my favorite pieces from various collections and designers that may inspire you for what to buy or wear for the next season. What trend are you loving?

Warm hot tropical getaways are the best, which I had the chance to go to recently. For me, nothing beats a beautiful beach view. Do you prefer warm or cold destinations to travel to?

I know I have been missing for a while and I have not done a post for a while. It seems to be a recurring trend with me eh? Bad blogger!

Yes, life has been really busy for me and I have had not had time to post on my blog let alone read other blogs!

Although, I must admit, I have a few confessions. First, I've had writer's/photo block for a while. The amount of work that goes into blogging is a lot more than I expected when I first started! Not to mention, keeping up with trends, posting regularly, networking, etc. I have a huge appreciation for those of you that keep up!

Anyways, I've had a few ideas lately, one being possibly a change of focus point. A few thoughts that come to mind, include writing about other things than just fashion like cool bands, movies, good food eats, traveling, photography and of course fashion, including fashion tips, how tos, event coverage, and of course every now and then a few outfit posts, etc. Any ideas of other things you would like to see?

I need your help though! Anything ideas or suggestions of what you would like to read about would be greatly appreciated! Please post in the comments below or send me an e-mail!

I can't believe summer is gone and it is fall already. Time has flown by fast! Well it does not feel like fall so far considering how warm it has been the last little while. So I am going to take advantage of the warmth while I can. What are you excited for this season?

Recently, MizzJ and I attended the Plenty Fall Preview fashion party where we had a chance to get a sneak peak at some of the fashion that's hot for fall. Rachel Roy & VFW Spring/Summer 2013

This past week, I had the pleasure of meeting New York fashion designer Rachel Roy at the Bay Downtown with two other bloggers, Kerri and Yvonne. I must say it was a pleasure and honor to meet Rachel! She is gorgeous, super friendly, a great role model and has acheived so much in her career as I had the chance to chat with her briefly. I love her Rachel Rachel Roy collection and all the outfits the models were wearing.

After meeting Rachel, I headed over to Vancouver Fashion Week for the Spring/Summer 2013 fashion show. Below are some pictures of my favorite designers and outfits from the show!

Parisian Chic & Birthday Theme Celebration

Recently, some other Vancouver bloggers and I got together for a parisian style theme birthday party! Parisian style, what is that you ask? To be honest, I didn't know what it was at first, I mis-read it wrong and thought the birthday girl, Sheila wrote "persian" but it actually is parisian, french style. Think effortless, classy, simple, relaxed, elegant...I just rolled out of bed, having that "je ne sais quoi" like look while being put together and timeless yet off-hand and undone. Anyways, I think you get the point!

As everyone arrived, we got to see everyone's interpretation of the parisian style! I must say, I very much like this style and made a few mental notes of the other girls outfits haha...So we kicked off the birthday celebration at the Tableau Bar Bistro for some delicious french food and drinks. Afterwards, we ended up singing our hearts out at a fun karaoke place! I think we all had a great time and we for sure had a ton of laughs...Happy Birthday Sheila!...

Recently, a friend of mine and I went to a local market for a nice walk and to buy some fresh groceries. Let's just say the day was an adventure! Before we met up, I had gotten lost a bunch of times (those that know me well, know I have a horrible sense of direction..hahaha). Needless to say, we had a great time and I came home with some fresh bread, salmon and cheese for dinner that night! Yum! Also, I've added a few of the gorgeous pictures from our lovely scenic walk!

Kiehl's Richmond Launch Party

Recently, I was invited to attend the grand opening of the Kiehl's Richmond location. I got to try on some of the great products, watched a short video and learned some of the history of Kiehl's. If that was not enough, Kiehl's also had some great appetizers and drinks for us and a photobooth to take some pictures in. It sure was a fun time and I got to go home with a bag full products to try. Thank you Kiehl's for a great evening and amazing products!

Fashion Capsule Fall 2012 Preview Party

The last month or so has been pretty busy for me...hence my lack of posting lately. My apologies. Anyways, recently I attended the Fashion Capsule's Fall 2012 Preview collection. I got to see some of the latest clothing and accessories from labels such as Cecile Benac Knitwear, Sofia Clothing, Irit Sorokin Designs and new labels- Marian + Hazel, Wasted Effort, and some Authentique Jewellery. I sure had a great time taking in all of the amazing clothes and jewelery with a few other Vancouver bloggers.
