How to Dress for Fashion Week + VFW Recap

There are two things that I look forward to every year and that is summer and fashion week. Attending the shows and seeing the collections live on the runway is always so much fun...plus it's always great to get inspired by the outfits of the attendees and models on the runway. How to Dress for Fashion Week

1. Wear comfortable shoes. I can't stress this enough because sometimes you don't get a seat and nothing is worse than trying to walk with blisters. If you want to wear heels, I'd suggest a wedge short heel otherwise you can never go wrong with converse sneakers.

2. Add a bit of color. I'm totally a neutral person when it comes to fashion and if you want to stand out, add a pop of color with a colorful shoe, bag or jacket.

3. Stay true to your style. There is no right or wrong when it comes to dressing for fashion week - stay true to yourself and your style. If edgy fashion is your thing, stick to it! If girly pink is your go to then go with it! Fashion is all about expression and creativity and showcasing your personality.

A few of my favorite designer's from this season at VFW are Connally McDougall, Ana Luisa Barros, Green Embassy and Brunette Showroom. I loved the fun head pieces to the 70s inspired vibes looks from Connally McDougall's collection. Ana Luisa Barros collection was one of my favorites for evening wear. I loved how Ana used different material and created a side layering effect with the fabric adding a Spanish vibe to the look in the picture above. The brunette showroom collection was a fun hit with sweaters with writing on it such as "fries before guys" to the 70s inspired fringe jacket!

How to Create a Jumpsuit + Style it for Fall

Even though summer is over, one can still wear a jumpsuit in the fall too! Surprisingly, I don't actually own a jumpsuit (or some may call it a playsuit). The reason why I don't own one is that I couldn't find one that I loved and that fit me well and so I decided to create my own. The thing that I love about creating your own jumpsuit is that you can re-wear the top and bottom separately with different clothes creating more outfits/looks! So if you want to find out a few tips on how you can create a jumpsuit and style it for fall click through to find out.

How to Create a Jumpsuit

1. Find a pair of pants that are high waist and loose/a bit baggy fit in the leg area as that is what a jumpsuit pant tends to look like. The great thing about the loose fit, is that they are super comfy and easy to move around in. The other bonus I think about choosing your own pants is, you could choose one with side pockets or a drawstring top like I did which makes your create your own jumpsuit more unique.

2. Pair it with a figure flattering top. The major bonus is you could get multiple looks with this. You could do a low neckline, tank top or if you want to cover up a light fabric long sleeve top. The options are endless. Just make sure the top isn't too baggy, slightly loose is key.

How to Style a Jumpsuit for Fall

The options for styling a jumpsuit for fall are endless. Some may think that it is just for summer but you can pair it with heels and a leather jacket, ankle boots and an over-sized cardigan. The trick to make it work with ankle boots is to roll up the pant leg.

How to Plan Your Outfits for Any Occasion

I was initially planning to do a Part II Date Night look for this outfit based on my previous post here, but then I started thinking that we all have moments of "I have nothing to wear" or moments where we are lacking creativity when we are putting outfits together (I must admit I am guilty of both sometimes). And I think getting dressed should be fun whether your going out with girlfriends, hanging out with family or going on a date with your loved one! How to Plan Your Outfits for Any Occasion

1. Plan your outfit according to the weather. One thing that I like to do is check the weather forecast and look out the window. Vancouver's weather can be unpredictable at times, so carrying around an umbrella is essential. By checking the weather forecast, you can plan your outfit accordingly so that you won't be too hot or cold given the weather conditions or save you from getting your open to heels ruined in the rain!

2. Plan your outfit according to the venue or location. Similar to point #1 above, are you going to be indoors or outdoors? If you are going to be indoors most of the time, you could probably plan on wear lighter layer clothing and open toe shoes vs. being outside and bundling up with a jacket and boots. Is the place fancy? Research or ask your friends what the dress code is so that you are not over dressed or under dressed.

3. Plan for the event or occasion that you are going to. Whether that is going to a family event, wedding, girls night out or date. For a family gathering, I would plan something casual yet conservative such as a sweater and jeans with boots or sneakers. For a wedding, I would plan a little black dress as you can never go wrong for that and it can be worn for almost anything and dressed down. For a date, I would suggest a simple dress with a jean jacket or jeans with a nice top, leather jacket with either boots or heels.

How to Layer for Fall + Look Chic in Minutes

I have still managed to find ways to wear my summer clothes into fall as also seen in some of my previous posts here and here. And given the fact that summer only lasts a couple months here and the weird weather we have been having lately (crazy windstorm one day, sunny the next day). I will find any way that I can to hold onto summer (call me summer craz-ey but I love it!) while still looking like I am dressed for the fall season. In fact, this dress is another perfect example of something that can be worn in the spring/summer or fall even winter given the right colors/items that it is styled with. How to Layer

1. When it comes to layering, take into consideration where you live and your current weather conditions. Does it rain a lot, does it get warm then cold, is it sunny one minute then raining the next? That is one thing to think about so that you know how many layers and what kind of layers you should wear.

2. Wear a dress of thick cotton material that is short sleeves or thick straps. This is essential because the fabric is important in order to make it look like it fits into the fall season and for those moments when you are warm and need to peel the layers off.

3. Choose fall colors such as dark greens, dark blue, brown, black, dark reds, etc. The white and blue stripes work as they are great fall tones as opposed to choosing a bright pink dress which would be a little harder to work in the fall.

4. Layer with an oversized cardigan or pullover sweater. This will keep you warm for those cooler periods and can easily be taken off when it is warm.

How to Look Chic in Minutes

5. A good trick if you don't have time to wash your hair is throw on a hat. Covers the greasy locks and makes you look effortless in minutes and a great way to keep your face/hair dry in case it rains.

6. Ankle boots = chic. I think ankle boots make any outfit look better and chic especially in the fall and keeps your toes dry and warm.

I know I may not seem to be over summer given all my latest posts about me holding onto summer when it comes to my outfits lately (and believe me I am still trying to do that as much as possible given our mild climate conditions currently)...and you also may still be thinking in fall mood, and even though I'm a summer girl at heart, I'm kind of excited to think about the holiday season! The fun festive holiday parties, curling up by the fire in a cozy sweater with a warm cup of apple cider, writing holiday cards, hanging out with family and friends and of course, shopping!!! With all that said, I'm excited to share with you an exclusive preview of few of my favorite pieces from Dynamite's 2015 Holiday collection. Why You Should Plan A Beach Getaway This Fall/Winter + Where to Go

With fall fast approaching, it already has me thinking about this winter and what is to come...grey and rainy days. That is not exactly exciting to me but the thought of venturing somewhere new, warm and by the beach is much more enticing. Taking a trip in the winter is a great way to escape and get a bit of time away from work, the weather and really would be a great opportunity for you to recharge, energize and relax. Plus, a little vitamin D is good for you and have you ever complained about going to the beach? I don't know about you, but I haven't.

With that said, I have researched two great places that could be your beach getaway dream come true for this fall or winter.

1. Tulum, Mexico. Known for amazing beaches with crystal clear blue water and the Mayan ruins, this definitely is a place worth escaping to. Where to Stay: If you are looking for somewhere by the beach and a little bit more luxurious, I would recommend staying at the Playa Canek. The Playa Canek is located right on the beach of Tulum where you can hang on a hammock while enjoying the stunning views or snack on some delicious food at their restaurant or go into the town center 10 minutes by car. They also offer airport shuttle, a garden and a terrace, plus water sport facilities on site. For a more budget friendly option, I would recommend staying at Pacha Tulum B&B. They are located 500 meters from the center of Tulum, 5 minutes by bike from archaeological site of Tulum and 15 minutes from the beach. All of the rooms offer, wi-fi, air-conditioning, private bathroom, safety deposit boxes and ceiling fan. Breakfast is included and they offer bike rentals and tours.

2. North Shore, Oahu. Known for great surfing and laid back island time lifestyle. Where to Stay: If you are looking to stay away from the touristy area and among the locals, I`d recommend staying at this cozy studio apartment from AirBnB. The apartment is located few steps to Famous Sunset Beach and across the street from Ted's Bakery with the best Haupia Cake of the Island.

What to Wear for a Fall Date Night

As you may notice from my previous post, where I talked about how to wear summer clothes into fall, I am still trying get away with wearing as much summer clothes as I can. I think this outfit is a perfect look for a date night, whether it is a romantic dinner or a simple art gallery visit and a stroll...this floral print dress is pretty yet romantic especially with the lace bralet showing a bit. Even though I am still aiming towards a minimalist vibe, I feel the pink is a hint of color but not too overpowering. Another thing that I love about this dress making it a little more casual is the high to low hem and the loose flow of the dress. All-in-all a winner in my books!

How to Wear Summer Clothes Into Fall

I can't believe it is fall already and summer is over already! It just flew by! When it comes to seasons, I am definitely a summer girl and nothing to me is more depressing then cold weather, long dark days and the thought of hiding all of my summer clothes back into the closet! Well, just because summer has come to an end that doesn't mean that you have to put all of your summer clothes away just yet! With that said, click the read more for a few tips on how to maximize your summer clothes for a little longer for that weird summer to fall transition period.

1. Layering is key. You can still wear shorts, skirts or those pretty little white dresses. All you need to do is add a few more layers. The solution for that cute little white dress, throw on an over-sized black, grey or brown cardigan over top. For shorts and skirts, wear a tank top with a sweater or a leather jacket. Layering is a great way to stay cozy and stylish during those weird warm/cool days.

2. Choose the summer items that are fall or neutral colors over the bright summer colors. Wearing a bright pink dress in the fall might not look as great as a grey, black or blue dress. If you choose a neutral color, it will be easier to layer and wear with boots, etc.

3. Keep your head or toes warm. Hats are a great way to hide dirty hair and keep your head warm at the same time. The same thing goes with your feet, throw on some ankle booties with that skirt, dress or shorts and your toes will be happy and warm. I'm wearing sandals here because it was still blistering hot when I took these pictures but I am sure you could get away with sandals too! ;)

Three Reasons Why You Should Invest in a Classic Bikini

I don't know about you, but summertime is my favorite time of year and I try to spend as much time as possible soaking up the sun either at a pool or at a beach. Click the read more to find out why I invested in a good quality bikini and three reasons why you should too.

Three Reasons Why You Should Invest in a Classic Bikini

1. Consider how much time you spend in your bikini. Whether it is at the beach, pool or just laying around the backyard. If you spend the majority of your summer in a bikini like me (or think that you do) why not make the investment and buy something that will last you all through the season and years to come.

2. Stick to a simple and classic bikini. I've mentioned this before but trends come and go and if you are like me, you might not be too fond of that leopard print fringe bikini next summer. Stick to something classic, simple and colors such as black, white, blue, or neutral tones as you will always have this classic one to fall back on.

3. Invest in Quality not Quantity. I noticed a difference in the quality of this triangl bikini that I am wearing in these pictures compared to inexpensive ones that I have bought. The material will last and will not fall apart and nothing would be more embarrassing than your bikini falling apart in public!

Three Ways to Update Your Wardrobe to Fall

I can't believe that summer is almost over and that soon it will be fall and back to school for the kids! With all that said it has got me thinking about fall dressing and inexpensive ways to update my wardrobe without going out and buying a lot of items. Click the read more for three ways to update your wardrobe to fall.

1. Layer with a Scarf. A scarf is easy to throw on your outfit, add color or texture and keep your neck warm. If you find a scarf that is big enough you can also wear it like a poncho. You can also pick something trendy like plaid or stay classic with neutral tones but this is one great inexpensive way to stay warm in the cool days.

2. Stay warm with a cozy sweater. Find a sweater that you feel comfortable in whether it is loose or slightly fitted that is a fall color like beige, white or grey. You can layer your top over a tank in case you get hot or cold or over dresses and skirts.

3. Keep those toes warm with some ankle booties. I love ankle boots and I think they are perfect to wear with anything, jeans, dresses, skirts, shorts, etc. As long as your feet are warm, you can get away with wearing shorts probably in the fall too!

Venice Travel Guide

Venice is such a beautiful and romantic city and very easy to get lost in (as I did last September numerous times) but that is how I found some of the best hidden gems the city has to offer! Click the read more for my tips on where to stay, eat and what to see!

Where to Stay

If you have been to Venice or are planning to go to Venice, you may notice that it is a very expensive city. Finding a nice reasonably priced accommodation in the heart of Venice near Piazza San Marco was difficult until I discovered the B&B Ca' dei Fuseri. Located right within the heart of Venice I could walk everywhere I wanted. Not to mention, the B&B is super cute, very clean, they provide breakfast and it has an amazing terrace. Just make sure to bring a small suitcase as there are a lot of stairs to carry it up to and the location is a little tricky to find at first.

What to See/Do

1. Free walking tour. Most European cities have walking tours offered for free and you pay what you think the tour is worth. This is great because you get to see the city from a local's perspective, learn about the local attractions and save money. Plus, it is a great way to meet new people in the city and get recommendations from the tour guide on where to eat.

2. See Venice by taking a Gondola Ride. Another great way to see Venice as it is mostly on water is by boat. The Gondola Ride is a popular and somewhat expensive way to see the city but if you reserve online here, you can pay less and if you choose, have dinner included afterwards.

3. Check out a few of Venice's famous Landmark's/attractions. If your interested in some of the top tourist attractions of Venice, I would recommend checking out the Pizza San Marco (a public square in Venice), Saint Mark's Basilica (one of the most famous churches and of Italo-Byzantine architecture), Doge's Palace (palace built in Venetian Gothic style) and the Rialto Bridge (one of the oldest bridge across the canal).

Where to Eat

1. Osteria Boccadoro - is a place to check out if your looking to get away from the tourist crowd. It is located in a quiet square serving traditional Venetian dishes with local ingredients such as fresh fish, homemade pasta, vegetables, etc. You may even spot a celebrity there as a lot of famous people have dined at the restaurant.

2. Impronta Café - is affordable and serves high quality cuisine with dishes consisting of vegetarian, fish and meat and it is known to be a popular place for lunch.

What to Wear for Date Night

Whether you have a first date or dinner and a movie planned with your significant other, dressing for that occasion should be easy and effortless. Click the read more for a few tips on what to wear for a summer date night.

1. A maxi dress. A maxi dress is perfect for a date because it can easily be dressed up or down. It should be lightweight, easy to walk in and you should feel comfortable in it. You can choose something loose fitting or slightly fitted but with a maxi I suggest showing a bit of skin whether it is backless or a little slit up the leg (he will like it for sure).

2. Keep your outfit simple and stay away from trends. Save your bright party dress for your girls night out as guys are simple. He won't care or notice any brands that you are wearing or how expensive your outfit is or how trendy it is.

3. Wear comfy shoes that you can walk in. Save your super high heels for girls night out and choose sandals with a short block heel, ankle booties, flat sandals or sneakers. Your date will appreciate that you wore something comfy yet stylish and can walk in.

How to Rock a One Piece Bathing Suit

I remember back in the day when one piece bathing suits were simple and not much to them. Well that is not the case these days so switch up your bikini for a fun one piece this summer. Click the read more for a few tips on how to rock a one piece bathing suit.

1. Pick the right fit and style that you feel comfortable in. We are all different shapes and sizes and that is okay so find a one piece that accentuates your curves and that you feel comfortable in. Knowing what works and looks good on your body is a huge asset and there are so many fun options choose to from and things that you can do to hide certain areas with fringe or ruffles details or accentuate your curves with cutouts or backless details. The options are unless.

2. You have to feel confident and comfortable in your body and skin. I've said this before in previous posts but confidence and self love is key and is something that cannot be worn. We all come up with the "things we do not like about our body" and you should not make that your focus. Instead, love the body you have, big or small, curvy or slim and that will show and you can rock that one piece or anything for that matter.

Why You Should Plan A Day Trip

Every now and then we all need a vacation but sometimes we don't have the time or money to get out of our regular routine. A great solution: a day trip out of the city. Click the read more to hear about my day trip to Garibaldi Lake and a few tips on why and where to plan a day trip to and what you can do to feel relaxed, energized and rejuvenated afterwards.

If you follow me along on instagram, you may have noticed that I did a day trip and hiked to Garibaldi Lake (which is about an hour and a half drive outside of Vancouver) recently. The hike itself was about 5 hours and 18 km in total. The first 6 km was an intense incline, but the view in the end (crystal clear blue glacier water and gorgeous mountains) was worth it. Even though the hike was challenging, I felt that getting away from the city really cleared my head, the exercise made me feel energized and the fact that I was outdoors with nature made me feel calm, relaxed and rejuvenated afterwards. It's amazing what a bit of time out of the city can do and make you feel. You may wonder why I am sharing all of this with you, and it is because this day trip was my perfect escape from the city and it made me feel great.

So without further ado, here a few tips for planning a day trip:

1. Plan somewhere outside of your city that you can get to and back within a day that you have never been to before. Be realistic when it comes to picking your destination to travel to as this will save you time and money. I would suggest limiting your travel time to 2 to 3 hours in total as this will allow you enough time to explore your new place. If you are unsure of where to go, ask your family or friends or look up online some places to go nearby you.

2. Spend your time outdoors in nature and that could be at a park, lake, or beach. Cities are generally busy, full of traffic and lots of noise so spending time in the outdoors where it is quiet and peaceful will really allow you to clear your head and feel relaxed.

3. Do something active. It doesn't have to be anything super physical but do something like a walk, bike ride, a hike or swim in the water. A little bit of physical activity will make you feel energized and happy afterwards.

In the end, a day trip should make you feel like you had a mini vacation without breaking the bank or taking a lot of time out of your weekend leaving you feeling relaxed, energized and rejuvenated. Where do you like to go for day trips and what do you do to feel relaxed?

What to Pack for A Summer Weekend Getaway

Whether your going to the summer cottage with family, away with friends or a romantic getaway with your significant other, packing should not be stressful. Click the read more for a few tips on what you should pack for your fun weekend adventure.

1. A duffel bag. It is lightweight, fits surprisingly more than a carry-on suitcase and great for a weekend. You will have no challenges fitting all your belongings including shoes in a bag like this, trust me!

2. A bikini. It's summer, so most likely you will find a pool, lake or ocean to swim in so bring your favorite bikini along and you are prepared for any water fun headed your way!

3. A couple t-shirts. They are super comfy and great to wear with anything or over your dress. I'd suggest bringing a white, grey & stripped t-shirt for a variety of options.

4. Jean shorts. I personally like the distressed jean shorts as they make your outfit look casual and effortless. They are perfect for your morning stroll, brunch or over your bathing suit for your beach adventure!

5. A maxi dress. You may decide to go out for dinner, maybe you burned your legs or it is cool at night...this is perfect for any of those scenarios. I'd recommend going with a stretchy cotton based maxi.

6. A jean jacket. Whether it is a bit chilly during the day or night the jean jacket is a perfect jacket to bring because you won't be too hot with it or too cold.

7. A summer day dress. Another great light option to wear over your bikini or just around town. I'd suggest a loose fitting one for those hot days as it be nice and light and airy for your skin.

8. A comfy pair of flat sandals. Chances are you are going to be doing a lot of walking and it is going to be hot so you are going to want to leave your heels at home and let your feet be comfy (they will be happy!)

3 tips on How to Look Effortless

Have you ever looked at someone and said to yourself, they look very effortless and cool; like they just rolled out of bed and out the door. Do you want to achieve the same thing? Well it can be done, click the read more for three easy tips on how to look effortless and cool.

1. Keep your outfit simple, meaning stay clear of embellishment details, busy patterns, etc. As someone who loves anything sparkly, it is best to leave the embellishments off your outfit and choose colors instead as the clean slate will make your outfit look very chic and effortless.

2. Less is more. Similar to point #1 above, keep your makeup, hair and accessories simple. Too much makeup, fancy curled hair and big blingy accessories won't achieve your effortless style that you are going for as you want to look like you woke up that way. Instead, opt for natural makeup, undone wave and a few simple accessories. This way, it will save you money, time and effort!

3. Add leather to your outfit. What I love about leather is the edge and cool factor it gives a simple outfit. A leather jacket is a perfect example and is great for those cool summer nights.

Like most women, we all want to feel and look sexy; it can be done in a classy and tasteful way for a daytime outfit like this one or any other outfit for any occasion. Click the read more for tips on how to look sexy & classy.

1. Show off the appropriate amount of skin and have the other areas covered up. As a rule of thumb, it is all about proportion. If you are going to show lots of leg, make sure your upper body is covered and the same goes if you are going to show off more upper body (low neckline) then cover your legs. Similarly, with a low back or showing a part of your midriff - make sure that your front is covered and you are not showing too much leg. By doing this, your showing a bit of skin making it sexy yet tasteful and classy at the same time.

2. Dress according to your body type and figure. Click here for a post where I talked about on how to dress for your body type and figure. We are all different shapes and sizes which makes us unique. Somethings look flattering on certain body types and others not so much. Knowing how to dress your body figure and type is important. So if your curvy and bigger busted, a low neckline is not a good idea but something that covers up your upper body and hugs your figure slightly is a better choice.

3. Dress to your height. If your tall, it is probably difficult to find dresses, skirts and shorts that are not too short for you so make sure that you follow rule #1 and that your hemline goes to a bit above your knee.

4. Show off your curves by wearing something that is slightly fitted. We are women and are born with curves for a reason, why hide behind something baggy? Just keep in mind rule #1 above with showing the right amount of skin as this will make your outfit look classy and tasteful while showing off your curves!

5. Confidence is sexy. This is not something that can be copied or worn, it comes from within and you have to love yourself and who you are...so love your body and owning it will show and people will notice that!

I know we all get lazy sometimes and resort to wearing sweatpants, leggings or lululemon pants on a regular basis because they are easy and you can just throw them on. Well, what if you could wear pants that are just as comfy and make you look stylish at the same time? The alternative: loose fitting trousers! How to Look Stylish & Feel Comfy

The color grey (is it even really considered a color?) is such a classic! I fell in love with this dress the moment I saw it and it has been my summertime staple favorite as it is easy and comfy; it can be dressed up or down! It's always nice to have a dress to go to that you know that just works for almost any occasion! You may also notice that I am wearing flats instead of heels in this post...it is nice to give the toes a break from heels! Click the read more for a few tips on how to look stylish and feel comfy this summer.

1. Choose flat sandals. (Unfortunately, the ones that I am wearing in this post are from last summer and are not available anymore but, click here for a similar pair.) Sandals with thick straps look great on anyone and if it is paired with the right outfit it will make your outfit look complete. As an added bonus, your feet will be happy that you did!

2. Choose a dress in a neutral color with material that is stretchy or slightly loose fitting. Neutrals never go out of style as they are classic and you will be happy when it comes to doing anything in a dress like this or slightly loosely fitted making it easy to move and eat anything!

3. Wear leather. Given our summer in Vancouver usually cools down at night, we usually need to wear a jacket so instead of that sweater why not opt for a leather jacket. It will add a cool edge to your outfit and not to mention it is comfy too!

A Day of Fashion & Betting

Every year, ladies and gentlemen get all dolled up with fancy hats, pashminas and bow ties for the annual event of the Deighton Cup at the Vancouver Hasting Racecourse. It was my first time attending and I must say, people go all out and get really into it! It was awesome to see all the amazing creativity behind each and every single outfit as no outfit was the same. Some decided to go glam vintage and others with a modern twist. As for the event itself, there was delicious food, live jazz music, a red carpet for a style competition and of course betting horses! Click the read more to find out the details about my outfit.

As for my outfit, it was a last minute throw together whatever I had in my closet. I wanted to keep a modern vibe with a bit of a vintage touch with the purse. I think with events like this, you cannot go wrong with a classic look!

As for my hair, I opted for a natural undone wave curl. I don't style my hair much and trying to find a hair stylist last minute can be daunting! Milan Travel Guide

A throwback to my two short days in Milan after Barcelona. Milan is such a beautiful and fashionable city.

I loved walking around checking out the shops, finding places to eat, people watching and exploring the city. It can be difficult to see a city if you don't know much about it, so click the read more to see my travel guide tips on where to stay, shop, eat and what to see in Milan!

Where to Stay

Milan is an expensive city and I wanted to stay in a convenient, safe and well priced place and that is why I choose to stay at the hostel, Ostello Bello Medici. It was one of the best hostels that I ever stayed at! They are located in the city, they welcome you with a free drink (alcohol or non-alcohol), they provide free breakfast and dinner, have free food in the fridge, an amazing patio and kitchen and a great common area/bar, free wi-fi and more! You know it is a great hostel when you have locals coming to the bar! If you ever decide to go to Milan and want a cheap place to stay, I would definitely recommend Ostello Bello.

If you are not into staying at a hostel, Hotel Royal Falcone is a great option.
It is a 4 star hotel for a great price in a historic building located in the centre of Monza. It has modern rooms, free Wi-Fi and breakfast. You can even schedule a shuttle to/from Malpensa and Bergamo airports.

What to See

The Duomo. One of the most beautiful gothic cathedrals, located in the piazza del Duomo and is the third largest church in Christendom. It took 500 years to make and is suppose to take 5 years to clean. I would definitely recommend checking out this church, the detail on every square inch of this church is amazing - inside and out. For a truly amazing experience, I'd recommend going to the roof, you can climb 150 steps or take the lift to the top!

Sforza Castle. It was built and lived in the 15th century by Francesco Sforza, Duke of Milan. Today, it is a museums, which has some of Milan’s cultural and civic history, including Michelangelo’s final work, the Rondanini Pietà. The castle is huge and very beautiful so if you are going to check it out, I would recommend that you allow lots of time!

The Navigli. It consists of two long canals – the Naviglio Grande and the Naviglio Pavese. The Navigli is a great place to check out as there are tons of restaurants and cafés and on the last Sunday of every month there is an antiques market that is held on the Naviglio Grande.

Where to Shop

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. It is one of the world's oldest shopping malls, located right near the Duomo and was designed in 1861 and built by Giuseppe Mengoni between 1865 and 1877. If your looking to splurge and go luxury shopping, you can find stores such as Versace, Dolce and Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli, Prada, Valentino, etc. If you don't want to break the bank, I'd still recommend checking out this mall as the architecture is stunning!

Where to Eat

Gino Sorbillo – Lievito Madre al Duomo. If you are looking for the best authentic pizza with fresh ingredients where the locals go - this is a must eat!

Al Pont de Ferr. Awarded a Michelin star in 2014. They don't just serve pasta as their is a wide variety of dishes offered but this place is great one with fresh ingredients and elegantly served dishes.

One thing that I loved about shorts is that just like jeans and they are very versatile - they can be dressed up or down and worn to the beach. But they can be tricky to pull off. Click the read more to find out some tips on how to wear shorts during the summer.

1. Pick shorts that suit your body figure and body type. To figure out what body type and figure you are click here. If you body type is more round, I would suggest going with shorts that are a bit above the knee for more coverage of your legs and choose a slightly fitted top to create an hour glass look.

2. Choose a top that has a high neckline and is slightly loose fit or somewhat fitted. It is all about the right portion and the amount of skin that you show to pull it off and making your outfit look classy.

3. Layer - whether it is with an oversized sweater, kimono or leather jacket - you can add some great texture or layers to your look!

How to Look Professional & Chic for the Office in the Summer

It can be difficult to dress for the office on hot summer days. Click the read more as I've got a few tips for you on how to look chic and stylish yet professional for the office.

1. Choose a loose fitting t-shirt dress style. Don't: actually go to work wear just a t-shirt. That is a no-no! This dress is perfect because it covers the top area of your body and you don't need to wear a jacket with it. Make sure that the length of your dress or skirt is just above the knee.

2. Material of the clothing is important. Ensure that you choose a dress that is good quality such as thick cotton and is not see through.

3. Wear block sandals. I love block sandals right now - they are perfect because the block heel makes it easy to walk in and the sandals gives a chance for your toes to breathe during the heat.

4. Pair it with a fun color block bag. Choosing a bag like this will add some color to your outfit and dimension while adding the finishing touch to your professional look!

It's has been pretty busy for me the last few weeks and having a dress that I can go to that I can throw on and is functional yet chic is perfect! It is also a new summer favorite that can be dressed up with heels and jewelry or casual with flats and a tote. Wear it like a blazer or jacket. Got a cute little white summer dress? Leave it unbuttoned and open and throw it over top of your dress with a cute bag and sandals, flats or heels.
