Arnav is frantic when he finds Khushi's slipper and broken bangle on the road. He runs after the ambulance, but to no avail. Arnav ki ankho ke aage woh saare pal ghoom jaate hain jab woh aur khushi ek doosare ke kareeb the. Woh turant police walon se poochta hai ki ambulance kaunse hospital mein gai hai aur gaadi daudata hai. Hospital pahoonch kar woh paglon ki tarah emergency ward dhoondta hai, jahan khushi ko le jaya gaya hai. His eyes are searching for her, praying every second that she be okay.

And when finally when his eyes find her, he is filled with huge relief .........and Love. A love that he never admitted and is still hesitant to admit. Khushi doesn't suffer from major injuries and the doctor has given permission to take her home. Nanhe wheel chair lane jata hai. Arnav Khushi ko godi mein utha kar le jane lagta hai to Khushi protests. But Arnav doesn't listen and continues to walk, as if he is carrying the most precious and delicate flower in his hand.

He looks down at khushi with such tenderness that all the protests die in her throat and she can't tear her gaze away from him. Arnav Kushi ko gaadi mein baitha hai, tabhi uski nazar Khushi ki kalai par lagi chot par padti hai. Woh tenderly chot saaf karta hai aur kalaai choom leta hai. Khushi ke tan-badan main sihran si daud jati hai. ...........................Rest break ke baad :)

Khushi aur Nanhe ji ghee lene ke liye ghar se nikalte hai aur Arnav unhe kadwi nazaroon se jate dekhta hai. Nani ji kehti hain kiit would be better that Payal and Akash do the havan first, kyonki yeh havan unhi ke liye to karwaya ja raha hai. Anjali agrees, but Shyam ji is furious at his plan being foiled. Woh Anjal se kehta hai, ki hume yeh theek nahi laga ki aapki jagah payal ko de di. Lekin sweet Anjali doen't mind , woh keti hai ki theek hi to hai, payapl aur Akash ko hi pehle baithna chaiye. Udhar Arnav is getting restless ki abhi tak khusi aur NK aaye kyon nahi. He calls khusi a number of times, but she doesn't answers. He gets more frustrated. Anjali sees his calls on khushi's mobile and bholi si ban kar poochti hai ki are Chote tum khushi ji ke mobile par phone kyoon kar rahe ho.................................. Rest after a break.

Kuch Toh Log Kahenge: A Poor Copy of Dhoop Kinare

When promos for the new serial Kuch Toh Log Kahenge

on Sony TV were being shown, I had a feeling that it would be based on Dhoop Kinare. I was really excited to see our own Indian version of Dhoop Kinare. The intial episodes of Kuch Toh Log Kahenge were xerox copy of Dhoop kinare. Even the heroin's friend's name is same ( Anjie). But I am sadly disappointed. The lead actors Mohnish Behal ( Dr. Ashutosh) and Kritika Kamra(Dr.Nidihi) are no match to Rahat Kazmi and Marina Khan who played Dr. Ahmar Ansari and Dr. Zoya respectively in the original drama.
Mohnish Behal is unable to deliver the understated charm that came naturally to Rahat Kazmi. So is the case with Kritika Kamra. She has played bubbly and chirpy girl in her previous serials on star plus. But the innocence and stubbornness of Dr. Zoya Ali Khan is lacking in her. May be the comparison if unfair. But one can't help it. Dhoop Kinare is a classic and Kuch Toh Log Kahenge is a futile attempt to recreate it.

Bua ji's Nand kishore is entering Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon. It is rumored that Karan Godwan of Jugni Chali Jalandhar fame will be playing a sweet NRI in the serial. His name in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon will be Nandkishore.

Apparently Nandkishore is unable to speak proper Hindi ( him being an NRI and all) so it creates funny situations. It seems that Arnav will feel jealous when he would see Khushi and Nandkishore developing an easy relationship. But my earlier hypothesis was that Arnav will marry Khushi when he gets to know that his Jija loves Kushi and wanted to marry her. In order to save his sister's marriage Arnav will marry Khushi and love will develop later. Well my hypothesis hasn't been proved right so far, but lets wait and watch.

Braun Sobti aka Arnav Singh Raizada and Sanaya Irani aka Khushi Kumari Gupta are two people who have recently entered our lives. Though they are poles apart, they are thrown into collaborating with each other by the circumstances. I love how in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, the characters of Arnav and Khushi are well sketched by the script writers and and very well enacted by Barun Sobti and Sanya Irani.
It is not every day that you see continuous good performance on television. Hindi serials started to deteriorate in performance and content after Balaji telefilms and Ekta Kapoor entered the TV serial production. So it is really refreshing to see some light hearted serious romance on TV ( without any Saas-Bahu drama, though Nani ji and Maami provide a bit of that, but in lighter vein).
I have not been an avid follower of Hindi t.v.serials. But I have to watch them because my sister-in-law is a die hard fan of Saas bahu serials. While she enjoys her dinner watching

Gopi rescue Rashi ( Saath Nibhana Saathiya), I keep wondering what will Rashi plan next. I don't like scheming saas or bhabhi or bahu. Life is so full of tension, and these serials keep the audience on tenterhooks and in tesion all the time. On the other hand Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon is a refreshing entertainment.

Desi Girls started in March 2010. I was in India then and used to watch it. My son wouldn't eat anything if TV was not switched on. So I tried different channels to make him interested in eating and he got hooked on Desi Girls. It is a reality show on NDTV. Eight city girls are chosen to live in a village in Punjab. They have to perform all the duties and live like a villager.My favorite is Ishita. She is the one who is not unnecessarily rude, never abusive and does her share of tasks honestly. Like the one involving the cleaning of the grille guard . Kashmira Shah as usual shirked work, but Ishita went to join the girls' party only after she was done with cleaning duty.
After coming to London, I forgot all about Desi Girls. Only yesterday did I thought of watching some episodes on youtube. The episode where Sambhawana Seth is ousted, is really nice. This lady should have been out from the first nomination. She is really loud, aggressive and intolerable. I don't know how Monica Bedi finds her a pleasant person to become friends with. There was another girl, Anmol. She was also genuine. Anmol was the youngest among all of them. She was paired with Roshni Chopra, and had to perform all the tasks alone as Roshni would successfully ditch her to enjoy herself.

Yesterday when I was bringing my daughter home, from the nursery, I saw so many young students ( from the nearby primary school) honking trumpets. Boys and girls had their face painted in red cross. Everybody was in a festive mood. I am no fan of football, but even I have caught this football bug. I am really keen to know the results each day. The cleaner, who comes on Monday for the weekly cleaning service, is from Brazil. Naturally she is rooting for Brazil. She claims Brazil will win.

We used to watch Ankahi, Tanhaiyaan and Dhoop Kinare at least once every year on rented video player. I never got the names of actors as they were in Urdu. Years later when Marina khan acted in an Indian serial Tanha,that I got to know her name. I was googling about her today and Shehnaz Shekh's name turned up in one of her interviews.It is really surprising that Shehnaz Shekh acted in only two dramas. She is one of my favorite Pakistani actresses. I was also surprised to find out that she was the original choice for Heena. I am sure if she had accepted the role, the movie would have been one of the biggest hits instead of the dud flop that was made.

Ever Associated Songs with Past?

Sometimes when I hear a song played somewhere, I get nostalgic feelings related to the song. Most often the past memory associated with the song is related to a place I lived before. Sometimes a song reminds me of my state of mind at a particular time. Whenever I hear the song Awaaz do humko, hum Kho Gaye, kab neend se jage kab so gaye from the movie Dushman( starring Kajol, Jas Arora and Sanjay Dutt), I feel a jab of pain in my heart. I was passing through a low period in my life at the time when this movie was released. The song became a major hit and used to play everywhere.
Another song which reminds me of something is 'Jhoom barabar jhoom' from the movie with the same name. We were in London when Jhoom Barabar Jhoom was released. My daughter liked this song so much that I had to play it over ten times a day. Now when I get to hear this song it reminds me of London, and the house where we used to live.
The third memory is very recent. Last year when we were here in Edinburgh, Ananya's favorite cartoon was Bambi, and she watched it repeatedly. Now when she watches the cartoon movie, I feel as if I am in that same house where we lived a year ago.

My husband has become a big rock fan after coming to UK. When we were in London, we used to go to nearly every major music concert in the city. We will be going to Newport for Isle of Wight Festival 2009. I have yet to confirm the booking at Shanklin Accommodation.
I hear that Basement Jaxx have confirmed their participation in the festival. Isle of Wight Festival 2009 is a well known music festival where international as well as famous homegrown bands play. In 2007, Rolling stones performed here after many years. Other music celebrities who have participated in the festival include Bob Dylon, Chris Martin, David Bowie and Jimmy Hendirx to name a few.

Last week my husband's colleague's mother came to stay with us,as the girl had to go to London for some training. Now her mother is very fond of watching Balkia Vadhu, and she insisted that I watch should watch it too. I am not that great a fan of Indian soap operas.After she had finished watching her favorite show, I decided to watch Madagascar: Escape to Africa. And I couldn't find any link to watch it online for free!Can you believe it? I mean there are sites which claim to provide free movies, but actually direct you to other links but all of them lead to a particular site which require you to download their toolbar. I don't trust such sites.So I went on to my search for Madagascar, and landed on Moviesplanet.com. Its a site where you can watch movies online for free.You can and download movies too. The site provides links to watch the movies. There are many TV shows also to watch. You also have different sections like Mistakes, Trivia, Soundtrack, etc. to give you additional information about the movie or the show you want to watch.
The one category which I found cool, is called knots, It basically tells you how many times a particular movie had been referenced in other movies or which movies make a dig at this film. You will also find latest news related to celebrities and movies here.
How the site works: You search for a movie by typing the name of the movie, you are taken to overview page where you get the summary of the movie. On the upper right corner you will find an icon Watch Online. I think this icon should be placed below the image of the movie, so that the first timers or the ones who have landed on the site through search engines, don't find it an uphill task to find the link. The links are for watching the movie online as well as for downloading it. I give a thumbs up to moviesplanet.com, because only this site provided me the link to my daughter's favorite movie " Finding Nemo." I couldn't find a single link elsewhere, and was thinking of downloading a torrent ( again a very risky procedure, you never know if the file is infected) before I found it on MoviesPlanet.

Watched Dark Angel After a Long Time

I am watching Dark Angel after a long time. In this episode, Lydakar is after Max. This is the show that catapulted Jessica Alba to fame. She plays the main lead Max Guevara. She has been taken to the jail after a failed attempt to steal her pills from a pharmacy. Logan is worried as she isn't returning his calls. He goes to the courier company's base and finds out that she hasn't reported there either. He tracks her down by hacking the jail's computer. Logan asks Original Cindy to help him get Max out of jail.He puts Cindy in jail with the help of a police officer friend. Max has been transferred to Jailer's quarters, where her condition is getting worse by the hour. Original Cindy gets into the warden's apartment with the help of a friendly first-timer. When Max has taken her medicine, and the jailer comes to threaten her, she grabs him by the neck and pulls him high. Cindy intervenes. "Damn girl, what was in those pills?" And Max replies"-Spinach."
I haven't watched the other part yet. Of course Max would get away easily now that she has had her pills. It will be good to see Lydakar's face when he fails once more.
Those who don't know what I am talking about, let me get you acquainted with the most riveting futuristic TV Shows. Dark Angel started in 1990s and it lasted only two seasons, but not before it had acquired millions of fans like me. The idiots at FOX, didn't give any explanations of taking the show off the air midway.
Dark Angle tells the crusade of a transgenic to trace her lost brothers and sisters after they escaped from the facility called Manticore. Manticore was a project to turn humans into war machines by making them far superior to humans through genetic alteration. Pregnant girls were brought to the facility and later they were forced to depart from their new borns and sent back to their villages. These new-borns were injected with gene altering medicines,thus enhancing their sensory powers and abilities. Once twelve children escape the facility and get separated. Max Guevara is one of them and she is trying to find others after ten years.

Chandni Chowk to China is a Good Entertainer

A cross between comedy and action movie Chandni Chowk to China is an attempt to make Akshay Kumar an Indian Jackie Chan. The plot is not original and it lacks in finer details. How come Sakhi escapes unhurt from Hojo's hideout though he knows that she is Meow Meow's twin sister? A laborer is slashed to death when he points a knife on Hojo's son. But the conspirators who bring Lui Sheng to China are not even threatened let alone killed or punished. Even after Meow Meow comes to know the truth about her father, Hojo lets her be in his gang,why doesn't he get rid of the enemy's daughter who is of no use to him?

Anyways, these are only minor glitches. If these points were to be taken care of, the movie would have been full of blood and gore and would have lost its comic touch.
Deepika Padukon has done some smashing action moves in Chandni Chowk to China. Beside that she doesn't have much to do, though she is in a double role. But she has once again showed that she is here to stay. Deepika Padukon has very expressive eyes,and she will be better suited for sad and tragic roles. Though she is apt at comedy too.
Chandni Chowk to China belongs to Akshay Kumar all the way. He is marvelous as Dhaba worker/Sabji cutter. He has already proved his comic abilities,I think he should be turned Comedy King. Govinda used to hold that title, but Akshay Kumar is a far better actor than Govinda and he has given us good, family entertainers unlike Govinda.
My husband rued the fact that only ten people had come to watch Chandni Chowk to China where as Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi got a house full. He believed that Akshay Kumar is quite popular in UK.
But you can't compare Akshay Kumar with Shahrukh Khan overseas. He has got Indian as well as Pakistani supporters.

Slumdog Millionaire: An Over Hyped Movie

We went to watch this movie in rain. I was supposed to take my daughter with me and two of our friends had to join us in the theater. After we had bought the tickets, the doorman told that it is 15 certificate movie so toddlers are not allowed. Luckily my husband was with me so he took crying Ananya home.
The movie shows the journey of a slum dweller from rags to riches. The teenage Jamal Malik is not hungry for money. He has eyes only for Latika, who is his childhood sweetheart. Slumdog millionaire is a love story told in an unusual manner, but with all the cliches about Bollywood and India. The sulm scenes are very realistic. But sitting in a hall in Edinburgh, you get the feeling that Danny Boyle has purposely shot these scenes to embarass Indians. Is there no poverty or hunger in Western countries?
The scene I liked most: Little Jamal is trapped in a makeshift toilet, when he hears that Amitabh Bachchan has come for shooting in their slum. He is frantic to get out and get a glimpse of his idol. He can't come out as Salim has latched the door from the outside. The only way out is the hole where heap of shit is sitting. Jamal jumps down without thinking for a second. He runs towards the crowd, covered from head to toe in poo.
Dev patel is convincing, though I liked the acting of the younger Jamal better. Anil Kappor is wasted in Slumdog Millionaire.
