Sephora’s Arch it Brow Kit
Can’t get to a pro?Sephora has the cheapest brow kit around, for $35.

Fill in with a brow shadow that’s 1/2 shades darker than your brow (not your hair) color with a super tiny slant brush. I love my very own Faux Squirrel Slant Brush. Thin, sharp and gives the perfect lines, with the super softness of squirrel hair that’s fake. Then brush through with a brow brush/comb to blend and soften the color so it looks like your own brow, rather than a made up one.

Need to darken the brows a bit? Try Diorshow’s Brow Styler which has a super fine pencil on one end a brow brush on the other to avoid that harsh drawn on grandma brow. Just draw on where needed (holes, faded ends or beginning of the brow) and then blend through.

Okay, count me wrong and as of now, well, count me a fan. Because this little box that you see above, is the cutest and the most versatile thing I’ve used in a really long time.

Let me explain.  It’s everything you need (truly) in one little box. And I mean little.

Pr sent me their little box in “St. Tropez”.  And each little tray contains everything you need for eyes, cheeks and lips.

Best part is that every single item works and does what it should. The eye shadows are (surprise!) wonderfully pigmented and go on great and lasts even better. The cheeks are slightly sheer so that you can build up the color throughout the day (as in day to night) and the lips are sheer, yet very beautiful colors that are seeable (as in not sooo sheer you can’t even see the darn thing).. and I even fudge by applying cheek color to lips first and applying the sheer glosses on top… it’s genius I tell you.

What’s even cuter, is that I can literally toss this into my makeup bag and that’s all I’ll be needing all day. It’s perfect I tell you for night (can that evening clutch get any smaller?) and I’m so smitten, I intend to go out and get the other 3 available, I love it that much.

I was offered to try, and I have to admit I was curious. Because really, why would I want a moisturizer that’s edible? But it’s really more than that. It’s 100% vegan, and botanical. And gosh, it smells insane.

Yumé Blush Body Lotion, is a moisturizing body cream made with exotic butters blended into seven different combinations. What I really liked was that the creams were really thick, and not light and fluffy like most. And while you’d think that you’d be left with a thick sticky cast on your skin, your skin is actually extremely silky and smooth to the touch with no product build up or feel at all.

And yep. It tastes good too. I for one, got the Chocolate Raspberry Chiffon.  Because a small part of my brain went (and I know yours did too) that instead of eating fattening chocolate with all it’s calories and fat grams, well, heck. I’ll just take a little bit of this and pretend and who knows. By the holiday season I’ll be all trim and thin without eating a fattening thing.  But really, the scent alone is enough to get me. Yum.

Instead of just a nude lip, it’s now, nude all over and very monochromatic looking.

Also, notice that it’s all matte. it’s not glossy nude lips, nope it’s now matte. Matte everything actually.

Matte cheeks, matte eyes, (no shimmer here) and of course matte skin and lips. All matte, all the time. Feeling a little bare? Add a touch of black liner.

Get matte lips with your lip pencil. Try Bare Escentuals Quick-Stick Lipstick in Escentual Fig. (A pinky beige nude)

For cheeks, yes, apply on the apples of the cheeks, but here, go for a chestnut soft brown nude shade and double that as your eyeshadow like Smashbox’s Blush Rush in Ecstacy (a neutral beige). Dust on cheeks and sweep across the eyes. Add a touch of mascara (remember, this is the softest and lightest look of all the fall makeup. Just pretend it’s spring…) to keep this look light.

Mac’s Our Pick Lipstick

The new nude lipstick that you’ll need this season.  It’s a brownie nude,  that works with a variety of skin tones and is nude enough for the trend, but not so nude that you’ll feel washed out. The warm brown undertones are enough to keep it looking fresh, but not too blah.

Mac’s Runway Lip Glass

Yep, another nude glossy, but without shimmer or sparkle or glitter, it’s the perfect color to wear alone, perfect over “Our Pick” Lipstick, or over any other color when you’re tired of the matte lip look. As in nighttime.

Just want a hint? Just go dark on your liner around the whole eyes and keep the rest of the eyes clean…

Go a touch more, by adding a gray into the crease of the eye.

Look #3:

Want to go all out? Think ala 80’s with the cat eye look. Wing out that darker shadow towards the ends of the eyebrows, but make sure to keep the focus on the liner as the darkest part of the eye.

Look #4:

Want to get creative? Mix your dark eyeshadow or liner with a color, like blue or green, for a truly modern twist.  Just apply your dark liner first, and then add touches of your color on the inner bottom corners of the eyes, and along the full top of your eyeliner. Brave makeup fanatics can even add the color into the crease.

This primer definitely does what it says it will. Keeps my foundation on all day, no oily build up, no shine, and no feel at all. Plus washes clean and I have yet to get any little tiny whiteheads that most silicone primers can do to me, especially around my nose and chin. Not pretty.

Skin feels silky smooth after applying and foundation brushes on like a breeze. And love the super smooth look I get and the long long results… so happy I found this.

Don’t despair. There are a few super cool, must have trendy items that you can get in Mac’s latest Style Black Collection that are doable, wearable, and funable..(is that even a word? I thought I’d try….)

So try this on for size.

First of, for the timid in all of us, this will break you out of your nude, everyday, boring  no makeup colors rut you’ve got yourself into. Try the new Nail Lacquer in Baby Goth Girl, a black with a purple pearl finish. Still scared? Just do on toes… and you’ll feel a little goth I swear… even if no one can see them, it’s enough to know that you got this on… are you feeling it yet?

Baby steps I tell you. Next on the list, is their Smolder Eye Kohl Eye Pencil. I know you’re thinking, Elke, it’s just a black eye pencil. I know, but try applying it (think night time look here) rimming it in the inside of the eye. Think cat eye..  Sexy no? Feeling braver? Then take their Greasepaint Stick in Intense Black (a sparkle black that’s to die for) and rim that around the lashes, top and bottom. Just a touch. Smudge, smear.  Feeling  a little braver no?

Next, on to eye shadows.. try their Gilt by Association (their softest one in a black with gold gilded through) that you can smudge on the eyelids… as light or as heavy as you want.

My most fav item? Their Glimmer Gloss in Bling Black, a sheer (don’t worry, it’s very very sheer) black, with a gold pearl. You can wear alone, or over any other color really… feeling brave? Try the Blackfire (black with a  purple pearl..)

So think simple, one feature at a time. Only do one feature at a time.. and if you’re feeling brave, add a second one.. You’ll be Styling Black in no time.
