Strategies to Get Your Article Read

There are millions of articles on the Net and in offline publications. How are you going to make your article stand out from all the others? If the goal of your article is to boost sales, increase subscribers or obtain incoming links it may not achieve it and you will have wasted your valuable time. Following are strategies to get your article read by Herman Drost.

1. Clear purpose

Before writing decide who it's for (target market) and what purpose it is going to serve. If you wish to boost sales for a particular product then outline the benefits of the product and why a person needs it. Your purpose is to put the visitor in a buying mood to pre-sell the product. Most visitors will not make a purchase from just seeing the product once. If you offer more information about it they will appreciate the extra effort you made for them to make an informed decision.

2. Attractive title

This is the most important part of your content because it is what your visitor sees first. It needs to grab your reader's attention and stand out from other articles on the same topic.

3. Opening paragraph

The introductory paragraph should outline the problem a visitor has and offer them a solution. People search for information on the Net to find solutions to their problems. If you provide that solution they will want to read what you have to say and purchase your product. This paragraph should prepare the visitor for what they will read throughout the rest of the article. You need to draw the visitor through the article from beginning to end.

4. Article body

Outline the benefits of your product in the article body. Readers want to know what's in it for them. Try to place yourself in your customers’ shoes so you see things from their viewpoint (not yours). Write a paragraph for each benefit so it can easily be read. You will lose your visitor's attention if the article is too long. It should be between 500-750 words long. Your paragraphs should only consist of 5 -10 sentences as most readers online will scan your paragraphs rather than reading them word for word.

5. Concluding paragraph

This should summarize your content and and restate what's outlined in your introductory paragraph. This helps cement in your readers' minds the main ideas conveyed in the article body.

6. Resource box

Place a call to action in your resource box. ie "Please download my free report on How to write a article that gets read by visiting http://www.domain.com." Also include a little about yourself to personalize your content. Readers want to know who the author is and if you are an authority on the subject. If your content is well written your readers will be more prepared to purchase something from your web site.

7. Article flow

The visitor needs to be drawn through your content so they don't lose interest. Use words that convey emotion or suggest action. Don't choose words that are flat and uninteresting. Your article should prepare your reader's mind to visit your web site. The content should blend with your web page so your visitor is already prepared to take the action conveyed on your web site.

Then finally focus on the job on hand. Do not spread yourself thin doing multiple marketing methods. Take it one step at a time and get it right. I guess all niches being different in nature require a different marketing strategy. I maybe wrong or maybe right in my guess…or let’s say the strategy remains the same for each niche, so what now? You will need to tweak it to fit whatever your specific niche happens to be. Following are five underlying principles that you should understand regardless of which niche you are marketing to.

1. Effective niche marketing requires a defined niche market. In the initial stages of your planning, you will want to clearly define who your target marketing audience is. If you can't clearly determine who that group is, then you will more than likely have a hard time finding them. After you have marketed to this group, you will then want to move on and market to a broader base; but to begin with, you will want to target this group.

2. Effective niche marketing requires that you, the marketer, determine the interests of your target audience. What is it that your audience wants most? Is it some other product that is already on the market, but with an added feature that is not available anywhere yet? If that is the case, you will want to target that base and offer that feature.

3. Marketing effectively to a niche also requires that you gain at least some credibility with regular buyers with in that given niche. Did you add AdSense on your blog to make money and now notice all it does is send people to your competitors? Also, have you noticed that your side bar is full of words that the Googlebot (web crawler, web spider or web robot) is reading rather than the article on your page? I have discovered that larger articles or two large articles on a page do better in the search engines as well.

Why? You may ask. It’s because of rankings and the works of Googlebot. Lot of people likes clicking on larger content pages or more articles rather than on the smaller ones, and so put more time on the page. Additionally, this gives the reader more time to click a side bar ad. Side bar ads should be widened, but not more than a third of the page, 20% is good. Remember you need to get Googlebot to read the page for what it is, then you will make more money, if you do not you will forever be looking for new revenue venues without fixing the current issues on your website revenues. If Googlebot is going to choose, then help it choose right for your personal financial future and the future of your website.

Niche Markets and Affiliate Marketing

Perhaps, you may be curious why there are so many people who join the world of affiliate marketing nowadays. This is because most of them do not like a white collar job. A blog comprises text, hypertext, images, and links (to other web pages and to video, audio and other files). Blogs use a conversational style of documentation.
