Not when ZSoft Uninstaller and Revo Uninstaller are FREE.</P><P>I must have struck a nerve with the plumber, calling me "obtuse" and all, hahaha. Maybe those slander and libel threats work on some, but not me. Berating reviewers as being lunatics, only proves what you are. Besides, anyone can leave reviews, they're just options, but when threats of litigation become involved that crosses the line. Fortunately in my country there's something called Freedom of Speech.</P><P>The program costs $29.95 for the "standard" and $39.95 for the "professional". Like theirs any difference! You get 1 Year of Updates and no more. Renewal costs were only added after 4.x because people complained about the price and stopped buying. Upgrades also last for 1 Year and upgrades from 4.x cost $19 for standard and $25 for professional.</P><P>As for the question of registry hives being excluded, even the author states this in one of his reviews. He claims their not necessary, but the reality is he knows that's where authors hide activation keys for free trials and by excluding them and other hives he increases the speed of his slow as a turtle program. Just look in the options menu. It's under monitored programs, scanning profiles and registry.</P><P>If you want to waste your money and listen to paid stooges that are nothing more than pimp for overpriced products, then do it. Unlike some I'll actually use a program before bothering to write a review.</P><P>This is a decent Multi-App, with 4 separate Binaries plus the Profile switcher.<BR>Which lets you work with the Editor or Slideshow or Search separately (if desired) from the main viewer. </P><P>Unfortunately, the search is slow the "Filters" don't make much sense (if they even work at all) and it doesn't support regex or pcre. </P><P>The Editor is interesting, but is missing a few things like:<BR>[x] autoFit to window. Everytime you resize an image's window you need to manually reZoom.<BR>[-] The Create Icon is interesting and incomplete. If you've rezoomed a window (but not resized) The Create Icon, annoyingly, autoMaximizes the window again. Also it only lets you choose one icon size.</P><P>Lots of options for the Viewer itself, only missing a few things in this area:<BR>1) Font Settings for Thumb Details, and Font Settings for FullScreen Mode.<BR>2A) Option to 1) use XPs thumbNail cache or other formats.<BR>2B) Option to save WildBit's ThumbNail.dat cache to ApplicationData instead of per folder.</P><P>Needs an option for ToolBars IconOnly (with tooltip) or Icon+Text</P><P>Most of the windows can't be resized below a certain point, which is somewhat of an annoyance. </P><P>Wildbit does NOT hose your system extension settings. Which is a major plus in my books. Having grown up using Original DOS 3d Studio, then lightwave, then 3ds max, Alias, Maya and Cinema 4d, I've used 3d programs before. I know how to do stuff Having learned the interface of methodolgy of one app I can move reasonably easily to another, sure I might not know how to use it completely, but I'm familiar enough to pick up most 3d modelling/rendering applications, build a model and render it.<BR>But not with Blender. I shouldn't need to sit down and spend literally hours, wading through tutorials just to learn how to use the interface, I should be able to transition easily to it, knowing the basics of how to get stuff done and picking up the unique features of the app as I go. <BR>As it stands right now, the interface is a barrier to learning the app. It's impenetrable lack of intuitive features mean it can't get a good rating.</P><P>If you're willing to invest a lot of time, and I do mean a lot of time, learning the interface then I'm sure you'll be rewarded with a capable application, but if this is your first exposure to 3d modelling and rendering you won't be able to transfer your newly learned skills easily into another application.</P><P>Yes it's free and that is great, but with such a monumental barrier to wide adoption it will (sadly) always been as the poor persons 3d option.</P><P>now having said all that. 2.5 goes a LONG way to addressing some of those issues, the interface has made major inroads and now resembles a lot of other 3d apps. Cerberus let's you create virtual directories. If you've ever setup an FTP then you probably know that others only let you choose a root and you are stuck with the contents of that directory and you must put every you want to share in that directory. Others have workarounds but they don't work as seamlessly as this server. Are more complex servers, more secure? Yes. Easier to use and the flexibility of adding any directory? How people say things that aren't true, such as that this program has a "cluttered interface" when it's one of the most clean and easy interfaces a notes program has ever had. All the programs that people keep noting are very cluttered in comparison to this program. And it's one thing to note another program that is similar, but to keep trying to push people on various programs that aren't even close to the program you are reviewing is not responsible at all.</P><P>It just sickens me at the attempts people make to try and push you to another product by blatantly twisting information. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this program, not one person has been able to offer any viable wrong issues with the program, bugs, crashes, lost data or anything else that would provide someone with information to say the program is bad. The only argument people are trying to shove in your face is that the program offers a limited version for free, as do most of the other programs on this site and everywhere else on the internet. And to repeatedly come back to the same program and continue to use the same argument over and over and then to try and hock several other products is just ignorant and disrespectful to not just the author, but the all the other users of this web site.</P><P>I am to say, very disappointed in the prejudice and ignorance that I've seen demonstrated on the reviews of this program by a certain few people. This also shows me that I, nor anyone else can no longer rely on the reviews found on fileforum. For years I have come to depend on the reviews of other users, which have usually been very good, but now I will have to dispatch the reviews and take a chance on trying programs that interest me. The reviews can be so tainted now that it's impossible to find a good unbiased review.</P><P>Some reviewers may have some sort of personal vendetta against a specific program and attempt to defame that program via a tainted review. Another author might run around tainting reviews of similar programs. Some reviewers might simply be bored and looking for attention by kicking some program in the guts to get reactions from either the author or other reviewers.</P><P>Personally, I use this program all the time now. I tried it, it did what it said it does, it did it well, so I paid for the pro version and have yet to regret it.
