It is added to help software detect the presence of a banknote in a digital image. Such software can then block the user from reproducing banknotes to prevent counterfeiting using colour photocopiers.

The banknote detection code in these applications, called the Counterfeit Deterrence System (CDS), was designed by the Central Bank Counterfeit Deterrence Group and supplied to companies such as Adobe as a binary module. However, experiments by Steven J. Murdoch and others showed that this banknote detection code does not rely on the EURion pattern. It instead detects a digital watermark embedded in the images, developed by Digimarc

But this also has some disadvantages click here to see wired magazine article

HOW TO HAVE MULTIPLE INBOXES IN GMAIL

Google on thursday introduced the multi inbox feature through its gmail labs feature. The new feature--called Multiple Inboxes--allows users to have multiple viewing panes open simultaneously without having to open another browser window. That's precisely why email, IM, and voice and video chat are so powerful -- the "where" is irrelevant.

With Google Latitude, a new feature on Google Maps for mobile and a gadget for iGoogle coming out today, we're kind of turning that idea on its head, making the "where" matter again. Latitude allows you to see where your friends are located in real time on a map, anywhere in the world.

Use your Gmail account to join Latitude and you can specify which of your Gmail contacts can see your location. You can choose to automatically detect your best location, share city-level information only, set your location manually, or hide your location altogether. (To learn more about Google Latitude's privacy controls, check out this video.)

From within Latitude you can communicate with your friends via text message, Google Talk, Gmail, or a good old fashioned phone call. Your status messages and profile picture are synced with your Gmail account, so as you update them on the go, your Gmail contacts will see the changes in real time.

To try Google Latitude, go to google.com/latitude from your computer or your phone's mobile browser. Latitude is available on Android, Blackberry, S60, Winmo, and will be coming soon to the iPhone, through the Google Mobile App.

GOOGLE BUS IN CHENNAI

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; It is established based on Ray Kurzweil’s futuristic The Singularity is Near - a very non-mainstream ‘forecast’ on AI, robotics and what future human life would be like. The SU is sponsored by wealthy individuals who support scientific breakthroughs (X-Prize, Google, VCs etc), and had a founding conference comprising who’s-who luminaries in the futuring and ‘extension of humanity and technology’ fields. SU aims to bring together graduate students working in different fields, to look at same problems from different lenses for new breakthroughs. Eg. Nanotech student gets expert briefings in futures studies & finance etc amongst 10 disciplines. Faculty includes science celebrities, and students are also expected to pitch ideas to nearby VCs for funding. SU is located in one of NASA’s research centres in Silicon Valley.

NINE YEAR OLD KID WRITES APPLICATION FOR IPHONE

a 9 year old kid named Lim Ding Wen from Singapore has been writing applications for iPhone. So even if you're offline, you can open your web browser, go to gmail.com, and get to your mail just like you're used to.There will be no need to use outlook or something like that.

Once you turn on this feature, Gmail uses Gears to download a local cache of your mail. As long as you're connected to the network, that cache is synchronized with Gmail's servers. When you lose your connection, Gmail automatically switches to offline mode, and uses the data stored on your computer's hard drive instead of the information sent across the network. You can read messages, star and label them, and do all of the things you're used to doing while reading your webmail online. Any messages you send while offline will be placed in your outbox and automatically sent the next time Gmail detects a connection. And if you're on an unreliable or slow connection (like when you're "borrowing" your neighbor's wireless), you can choose to use "flaky connection mode," which is somewhere in between: it uses the local cache as if you were disconnected, but still synchronizes your mail with the server in the background
Offline Gmail is still an early experimental feature. It is currently available to the US and UK users.Soon it will be availablet to all the users.
To setup this feature:

Click Settings and click the Labs tab.

Select Enable next to Offline Gmail.

Click Save Changes.

After your browser reloads, you'll see a new "Offline0.1" link in the upper righthand corner of your account, next to your username. Click this link to start the offline set up process and download Gears if you don't already have it.

SANDISK NEW BACKUP USB FLASH DRIVE

Backup your favourites at the press of a button.SanDisk has announced the first USB flash drive with a backup button. You may experience minor bugs or compatibility issues with websites while browsing. The microsoft is still trying to inject the silver light into the market by giving notification while downloading the ie8.Dont know why the microsoft still tries..!!!.

RELEASE NOTES

This version comes with a lot of compatibility issues with google toolbar and skype etc for some of their versions. This version has the new click jacking protection. So what is click jacking??
Clickjacking lets hackers put a transparent filter on sites so they can view what information a user is accessing and what activities that user is doing, said James Pratt, an IE senior product manager at Microsoft. For example, if someone is on a bank Web site, attackers can use clickjacking to see the user's bank information and acquire passwords, and the user will not know the information is being viewed remotely, he said.
The security feature that thwarts clickjacking in IE8 RC1 allows Web-site content owners to put a tag in a page header that will help detect and prevent clickjacking. If a site that uses the IE8 tag detects clickjacking, it will give Web users an error screen letting them know that the content host has chosen not to allow that content, and gives them the option to open the content in a new window that is protected from the attack.
Microsoft also in RC1 expanded the functionality of a feature it introduced in the IE8 beta 2 release called InPrivate. InPrivate has two settings -- InPrivate Browsing, which lets users browse the Web without creating a record of where they've been or enabling cookies, and InPrivate Blocking, which has been renamed in RC1 to InPrivate Filtering.
Just give a missed call to this number. You’ll not be charged!

+41445804650
2. Wait for a few seconds and you’ll get a call to your cell phone from your own number
3. Receive the call. You’ll hear a lady voice asking for a PIN number.Just enter some rubbish number.
4. She say’s- Your PIN cannot be processed and the call disconnects..

ANOTHER TRICK
Instead of giving a missed call, just continue calling. The call will not be received and will get disconnected just after a while. But now do you know what happen’s?
You will get a call from the number

+501

PLAY GAMES ON GTALK

www.gtalkbots.com introduced the worlds first gtalk game.Anagram, many of you might be familiar with it or even played many a times back in school and colleges.
A few important points:

Add games@gtalkbots.com as your friend in Gtalk Messenger.

Type rules to read them before you start gaming.

Type anagram to start gaming.

You will be given a jumbled word which you needs to rearrange and reply back.

If your answer is correct you get 10 Points.

If your answer is not correct and you are finding it tough to solve it, Type hint to get a clue, and a clue will be sent to all users playing the game.

DO NOT FORGET to type exit when you are finished gaming. Dimensions equivalent to two 24″ widescreen monitors standing end-to-end. DLP rear projection on a curved screen, with OLED illumination. An insignificant .02ms response time.
Alienware’s new curved monitor caused quite a stir when it was revealed here at CES. It seemed like the natural evolution of monitor technology had finally arrived. After all, the human eye is curved, so why shouldn’t our monitors curve too? What a great idea.
So is it that great? Well, it’s as quick as curved. Not that any of that means much right now, because this monitor has major problems.

One of the more intriguing technologies at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) being held this week is a 42-inch-long, curved monitor. Made by Alienware, the monitor is supposed to simulate peripheral vision. The sci-fi-like screen is aimed at gamers for a more immersive experience, although it might not be as suitable for design or text work.

If 42 inches is still not big enough for you, it’s possible to put two of these monitors side-by-side for a dual monitor configuration.

Another issue is the image quality. While the picture seemed sharp, it lacked color depth, appearing altogether faded. And ultimately, I care far more about image quality than the shape of the box.

CES was dominated by another display technology–3D glasses. Yes, the technology that has moved from gimmick to money-maker in the movie industry is still being pushed on the PC. And though it has progressed since the 90s, 3D gaming monitors and glasses still haven’t gotten to the point of usefulness. Every pair I tried left me disappointed and cross-eyed.

In the same way, I’m not sure this monitor is ready. It will surely be too expensive to even contemplate, requiring an even costlier PC to run a game at such a massive resolution. Beyond the obvious flaws that need to be addressed, it’s just plain bulky–and while I wouldn’t place the curving monitor into the realm of pure gimmick, in person, it only really qualifies as “neat.”

ABOUT: WHAT YOU DONT KNOW ABOUT FIREFOX

about: A simple prompt without any parameter will display the Mozilla “about” information. The Gdrive is a desktop client that keeps local and online files and folders in two-directional sync via a web interface for accessing your desktop files anywhere and anytime. Just connect to any network-enabled computer.

In addition, it's integrated with other Google services to enable editing of supported documents, like spreadsheets and presentations via Google Docs, email via Gmail, images via Picasa Web Albums, etc.

The service has the potential to eclipse even Gmail, Google’s second best-known product after their google.com search engine. That said, it’s no wonder users have been ripe with anticipation for years - yes, that’s how long the rumors have persisted. Gdrive is basically online storage where Google servers have enough capacity to hold the entire contents of your hard drive. It will likely also come with enough brains to do cool tricks now with bigger things down the road - like booting your computer from online drive to load the Google operating system.

Think about it start working on a spreadsheet at home and continue via Gdrive interface at your local starbuck or cafe of choice. When you get home the changes you made to the spreadsheet have already trickled down to your desktop. Are you saying hey that's not new! of course it's not. In conjunction with KDDI service you can receive earthquake notification directly on your phone, very usefully feature for a place with frequent earthquake like Japan.Casio G’zOne phone using E-Ink Vizplex(TM) Display for external display and 2.7-inch QVGA (240 × 400 dots) for the main display. The battery is able to support up to 260 minutes talk time and 220 hours standby time (with calorie counter ON). It also has 1.97 million pixels camera and microSD memory card slot to expand the memory. The most compelling feature for me is that G’zOne was designed to be waterproof and impact resistant gizmo. This phone will keep alive and maintain its performance after 30 minute sank in 1 meter depth of water or after 3 minute of heavy shower.
