Can you believe it? I was "very young" ;-) when that movie came out. I remember going to see it with some girlsfriends and we stayed to watch it twice, at least. We went downtown Houston to one of the movie theaters down there (it's not there anymore), Lowes or The Majestic, down on Main Street (I guess that shows my age??).

The tagline for the that was used is "The Beatles starring in their first full-length, hilarious action-packed film !" I don't remember it being hilarious, but I don't think it really mattered. It was the Beatles! The music was great; and just seeing all the guys, being goofy...you have to admit, it was a fun movie!

Anyway, I heard it on the radio today and it made me think of when I went to see it. Plus, I am happy to say, that I am still in contact with a couple of those girlfriends. We look pretty awesome for our age!

Alfred Hitchcock

Starred Tippi Hedren and Rod Taylor. Still one of my favorites. Another favorite is "The Rear Window", starring Grace Kelly and Jimmy Stewart.

As most people know, Mr. Hitchcock always appears in his movies, in a very small cameo. He actually started doing this in his 1926 movie, "The Lodger." Does anyone remember when he shows up in "Psycho"? And, what was he wearing?

When I was looking for sponsors for this blog, I wanted a company that included old movies, along with books. You know the ones, where the plot is always (basically) the same….boy (man) meets girl (woman); boy (man) does something really stupid to piss off girl (woman); boy (man) tries to make it up to the girl (woman); etc., etc. You get the picture. They always, always get married or back to together at the end of the movie. Cary Grant. Elizabeth Taylor. Grace Kelly. Audrey Hepburn. Rock Hudson. Montgomery Cliff. Karen Allen.

Karen Allen? Yep. She made the most romantic, sexiest movie ever back in 1984, “Until September.” (Remember, this is my blog) The movie was rated “R” but I don’t remember the restricted parts. I just remember how utterly romantic it was.

Imagine…you are a young, single woman literally stuck in Paris. You can’t leave to go back to the States. I don’t even remember why she couldn’t go back. I think it had something to do with her ticket or passport. Anyway, she gets “stuck” in the Paris flat she had been sharing with her friends (who have all gone back home). In walks the sexy Frenchman to take over the flat because he has rented it for the month. She can’t/won’t leave and neither will he. Need I say more?

The movie is not shown very often. I keep looking for it on Turner Classic Movies. I wonder if there is a place I can make suggestions to them to show it...
