I'm Back...

My postings over the last couple of months have been very far & few between. I do hope to be back & posting more often. Things have been a little crazy with me of late, but fingers crossed it is "full steam ahead".

Today's card has been created for my Volunteer Class we had this arvo. It is also a perfect way of using all that retired DSP that we have on hand but don't want to get rid of at the time. In fact, this paper is from a couple of years ago & yes, I hadn't even cut into it.

Well, you will be happy to know that I have created a couple of cards from it which means that there is not that much of it left - doing a happy dance!

Have you noticed there is no stamping on this card. BUT, I did use MDS for the "Happy Birthday".

I originally found today's card on Pinterest & have it sitting there for some time to do. Thank you so much for your inspiration!

Tutorial -

1. Adhere Layer 2 DSP to Layer 1 Whisper White CS prior to adhering to Base Card - Green

2. Adhere Layer 4 Whisper White to Layer 3 Green

3. Adhere Layer 5 Green across Whisper White about 1 1/4" from bottom prior to adhering to Base Card

4. Print "Happy Birthday" via MDS onto Layer 7 Whisper White

5. Adhere Layer 8 DSP across bottom part of printed greeting prior to adhering to Base Card

6. Run through BS using Circle Collections Framelits

7. Punch circle from 2 1/2" Circle Punch, cut into pieces & adhere to above circle forming scallop circle around edge

8. Punch 3 Banners from Banner Punch & scraps of DSP prior to adhering to green scallop circle

9. Adhere to Base Card with Stampin' Dimensionals

10. Cut Banner shape into each end of Layer 9 So Saffron prior to adhering across middle of circle

11. Thread small piece Whisper White Twine through Button & adhere to Card - as per photo

ANZAC DAY...

Today is a scheduled post as I will be attending the Dawn Service on this Special Day - ANZAC DAY. I think I have only ever missed it once due to ill health. Even as kids, I would always get up early & ride my bike to the Dawn Service & then later on march with the school. It was tradition.

The service on the coast would have to be one of the best I have ever attended with the "Last Post" ringing out over the ocean. It is mind blowing & nearly brings me to tears every year. The goose bumps appear every time. I think I can safely say that this happens with every servicemen/women & ex-servicemen/women.

If the Navy had a recruiting van parked along the beach, I am sure I would not be the only one queuing up to sign on!!!! The goose bumps..... I can feel them as I write this.

It is then off to the local RSL where we get together, chat, talk about our service days, listen to the oldies tell there incredible stories & play "Two Up", where I am usually a big looser, but just gotta play, can't help myself. In fact, I know quiet a few ex-sailors who have lost their whole pay packet (including myself) on "Crown & Anchor".

It seems like forever since my last post, but with the wedding season upon us, invitations & receptions have been taking up all my spare time.

Today's post is one I created a couple of weeks go & thought I would share with you. It is a very easy layout but one that can be changed out to whatever you want using different stamps, colours & even DSP.

In fact, this card would make a perfect card for Mum, especially with Mother's Day just around the corner.

4. Stamp greeting/sentiment onto Very Vanilla CS with Perfect Plum Ink

5. Adhere punched Perfect Plum pieces to bottom & top of Very Vanilla CS

6. Cut 3 banners from scrap Sahara Sand & Perfect Plum CS prior to adhering to centre piece

I've loved this cute little stamp set since I laid eyes on & have only just managed to ink it up now. Shame on me!

Today's card is one we created in our Friday's Crafty Creations Class. As usual, I CASEd my card for today. You can see the original on Pinterest. I changed my up a little using all SU! Our classes for the new year are now back up & running. It was great to catch up with everyone, have our normal "Show & Tell" & hear how everyone did at Christmas & New Year.

Happy Birthday....

My volunteer class started back today after a couple of weeks break. I used the break to my advantage by planning 3 months of classes including the cards we will be creating In Crafty Creations.

Mind you, in saying that, the ladies know what I am like & will probably change half of them by the time we get around to creating them, but that is part of the fun & the unexpected!

As with Friday's card, I usually CASE this one - Copy & Share Everything. This week is no different. I found this card on Pinterest by Beverlee Morales which I thought the perfect card to start the new year off with. I only hope the ladies like it as much as I do. As I've mentioned previously in a post a couple of days ago, the DSP for SAB this year are gorgeous & I can't seem to get enough of them. Mind you, it did take me a little time & a lot of courage to cute into the pack, but now that I am, I can't stop using them.

Today's card is one I cased from Pinterest by Susan Harr. I love that I can check this site out & find anything I want, especially when your mind is taking its time to get back into the creative mode from being on leave for a couple of weeks. Casing cards will help you get into the creative zone again!

Today's card is the one I created for the younger of the 2. When he was younger he rode competitive Cross Country, so I thought this stamp, although retired, would be perfect for him.

Sale-a-Brating....

.... with new items from the upcoming "Sale-A-Bration"!

My card today is one I created for "Try Stamping on Tuesday". Along with the sketch, we could use Polka Dots if we wanted. For me it was the perfect chance to create a birthday for my niece next week.

It was the perfect chance to use some of the gorgeous stuff from SAB! I must say I love, love the Embossing Folder AND the DSP. I don't think I will get enough of these 2 items.

When I first saw this stamp set in the current "Occasions Catalogue", I immediately thought of birthdays, not Christmas! Mind you, I did use it for some of my Christmas Cards, but I can see myself getting a lot of use out of throughout the year for birthday cards.
