PAL Promo Fares - For those passengers flying out from the Philippines may have a pre-flight convenience with Philippine Airline's RT-PCR testing center in Manila. There is waiting period of 12 to 24 hrs for the releasing of the results. The regular price of the RT-PCR Kit is around Php 4,500 but passengers of Philippine airlines will get a discount of Php 500. This will start on December 1, 2020.

The COVID-19 RT-PCR testing site is located at the Philippine Airlines Learning Center in Ermita, Manila with Detoxicare Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory as its DOH-accredited partner.

PAL passengers may have the option of walk-in or drive-thru. The facility is open everyday from 8 AM to 5 PM. Results will be released within 24 hours.

Things to prepare:

ID, PAL ticket, and QR code indicating a complete registration of the PAL passenger profile and health declaration form.

Except for flights to the US, Canada, and Australia, all passengers must register and accomplish the online

In the meantime, PAL has also partnered with other accredited laboratory and testing facilities to provide passengers exclusive and discounted testing fees and/or quicker release of results.

Passengers may visit www.philippineairlines.com for the full list of PAL other testing partners. There are currently eight testing partners with more than 50 branches combined, available within Metro Manila and other Provinces like Cavite, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, Batangas, Iloilo, and Cebu.

The testing fee and release of results vary among testing partners. To avail of the services of PAL's other testing partners, passengers must proceed to the testing facility and present their ID, PAL Ticket, and QR Code indicating completion of registration via the PAL Passenger Profile and Health Declaration Form.

INTERNATIONAL Entry Requirements in various countries:

Travel requirements change from time to time. Here are some countries or regions that have updated their entry rules in recent weeks:

Mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, Papua New Guinea, Taiwan, Thailand, the U.A.E., Singapore, South Korea, Vietnam and Honolulu (Effective September 1, 2020) require negative COVID-19 PCR testing results prior to checking in.

Travel from the Philippines - (International flights bound for other countries)

Only the following are allowed to exit from the Philippines at present:

- Foreign Nationals
- Overseas Filipino Workers
- Permanent Visa Holders
- Students enrolled abroad and participants accepted in exchange visitor programs
Note: Exit will be allowed for the above only if there are no travel restrictions disallowing their entry into their destination or transit countries.

Travel to the Philippines – (International flights from other countries)

Only the following are allowed to travel to the Philippines at present:

- Filipino Citizens
- Foreign spouses and children of Filipino nationals, including such spouses and children who are former Filipinos but who are not dual citizens, provided they secure the appropriate Philippine visas prior to travel (new requirement)
- Accredited foreign government and international organization officials and their dependents
- Foreign airline crew members on duty
- Seafarers holding 9C visa
- Foreign nationals with long-term visas, valid and existing at time of entry, provided they have pre-booked an accredited quarantine facility and a COVID-19 testing provider.

Note: Foreign citizen spouses and their children, if traveling alone, must show proof of marriage or filiation, together with a proof of citizenship of the Filipino spouse or parent and proof that said Filipino spouse or parent is in the Philippines.

All passengers arriving into the Philippines will be required to undergo an RT-PCR test and to stay in a designated quarantine hotel or facility until the results are released. Please note that the cost for the tests and the quarantine hotel will be borne by the traveler (except that, for Overseas Filipino Workers - OFWs, the government will shoulder the cost of tests and accommodation).

Essential Oils Cebu - It is obvious that in our current pandemic situation, flights are still canceled and airlines are not yet in operation for domestic travel or even international. However, we will soon adhere to the new normal when we travel. There will be a number of requirements to submit like health clearances, passes and other documents. Of course it will be mandatory to wear our face masks, face shields and definitely loads of immunity boosters for ourselves to keep ourselves safe from the virus.

This blog post is a diversion from its usual Philippine Airlines promo updates. It will still be related to traveling preparation still. We will introduce you to Aromatherapy and the beneficial use of aromatic essential oils that have antimicrobial, antibacterial and antiviral properties and characteristics that could in a way be helpful with us.

Shake it and you can readily use it so spray the air with its goodness, or on your pillows, on your seats, or can be used as your natural perfume too.

Essential oils have very tiny chemical compounds in a molecular level that plants used for their own protection against bacteria, virus, foreign intrusion, healing and even pollination.

We have a very long history during the ancient times where people use herbs, plants, trees, fruits, flowers as medicines for their illnesses and sickness at that time and even up to this very day.

Warning

Again, do remember that essential oils or aromatherapy is not an alternative to orthodox medicine. They are certainly NOT CURES for any circumstances.

Consult a licensed doctor for illnesses for their prescribed medicines as treatment.

NEVER use essential oils as alternative treatment or cure for any specific disease.

Be always careful of distributors or sellers of essential oils that will convince you that it is an alternative medicine. Because it is NOT!

They are just supplementary or support to medicines prescribed by doctors.

You should definitely follow the doctor's prescriptions for the cure of your sickness.

Philippine Airlines Promohas still been operating with their cargo flights carrying in essentials and transporting it to make sure the economy is still ongoing. Also, they are having special flights to other countries to repatriate stranded Filipinos back to the Philippines like their historical flight to Maldives. And of course, flag carrier will introduce a new uniform that is like a PPE to protect their crews and employees of the aircraft to cope up with the demands of the 'new normal' in the travel industry for flight attendants.

UPDATE AS OF April 27, 11:49AM: PAL have successfully completed their system maintenance. They are now ready to receive our requests once again.

In order to serve us better, MyPAL Request Hub is undergoing system maintenance until April 27, 12:00PM (noon, PH Time).

UPDATE AS OF April 25: Philippine Airlines flies to the island paradise of Maldives to pick up stranded Filipinos and bring them back to the Philippines. The airbus A330 landed in Male at 8:59 AM. At least 338 pinoys were able to return home to their motherland through a special flight PR8709.

The repatriation flight was arranged by the Department of Foreign Affairs or DFA. It also made a new milestone in the history of the flag carrier as the flight took around 6 1/2 hours from Maldives to Manila.

The mission continues. Special PAL flights bring home our fellow Filipinos -- the flag carrier serves the nation while the world is on lockdown.

After a series of stringent meetings with executives and key heads of the airline, it has ultimately concluded that PAL could no longer sustain even a limited number of international flights due to the strict travel and entry restrictions imposed by a lot of countries. It has affected the travel and tourism industry as the ripple effects resulted in a number of cancellations.
There is also issues with manpower at their Manila airport hub because of the lockdown imposed by the government. A lot of PAL's rank and file, office staff and key personnel couldn't make it to work due to lack of public transportation.

If the odds will be on the airline's favor and if granted by the Philippine and international authorities, it can return to operate on April 15, 2020 but still subject to global public health conditions and travel environment. Everyone especially those who got flight bookings on April and the succeeding months should stand by for advisories.

What are your options for your booking?

Rest assured that your PAL booking is safe.

For those having flights scheduled from March 15 to April 30, 2020, or if you were prevented from travel by COVID-19 cancellations, travel bans or quarantine requirements, you can request for the following even after your flight date, or even after the end of the Luzon-Wide enhanced community quarantine period:

Rebook* your flight without penalties and without fare difference if you travel in the same cabin. We suggest that you request for rebooking after our target flight resumption date, on April 15, 2020. Travel at any time before November 30, 2020 or your ticket validity, whichever comes first.

Convert the unused value of your ticket to a travel voucher valid for one year.

*Rebooking and rerouting with blackout travel dates for Canada and United States:

(1) Westbound (Canada/United States to Philippines): June 15, 2020 until July 31, 2020;

(2) Eastbound (Philippines to Canada/United States): July 15, 2020 until September 15, 2020

Note: The said passengers may also refund their tickets without penalties

PAL promo fares - In a recent press release issued by Philippine Airlines, it has issued a statement of the flight suspension of their remaining international flights starting March 26, 2020 until April 2020 due to the current threat of the global pandemic, COVID-19. Last March 17, 2020, it has already cancelled all their domestic flights. They have decided and did careful consideration we their conclusion to temporarily suspend operations as they could no longer sustain their regular activity due to lack of manpower.

To the flying public:

We regret to advise that all remaining Philippine Airlines international flights will be suspended temporarily, starting from 26 March 2020, Thursday until 14 April 2020. All domestic flights had ceased as of March 17, 2020.

After careful consideration, we concluded that PAL could no longer sustain even a limited number of international flights for the following compelling reasons:

The strict travel and entry restrictions imposed by more and more countries;
The resulting collapse in demand for travel; and
Continuing challenges in staffing our Manila airport hub during the ongoing lockdown.

Accordingly, our last flight to depart from Manila this week will be PR 104 bound for San Francisco at 10:10 PM on March 25. Several flights will continue to arrive in Manila on March 26 from Los Angeles, Tokyo Narita and Jakarta, and on March 27 from New York JFK, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Our firm goal is to resume operations starting 15 April 2020, if warranted by Philippine and international authorities, global public health conditions and the travel environment. Please stay posted for announcements on our website www.philippineairlines.com and our PAL Facebook and Twitter social media accounts.

We shall now turn our attention to the task of conserving our resources in anticipation of the recovery and caring for the needs of our PAL team members, while we keep our fleet ready for the day that we resume flying. A full restoration of PAL’s network is not possible at this time. The suspension of public transportation and other impediments to movement within and into Metro Manila, due to the ongoing community quarantine, have limited the manpower levels at Manila airport.

Furthermore, travel bans and restrictions imposed by various governments have forced the cancellation of some routes and significantly reduced actual travel between countries amid the COVID-19 situation.

Please note that this is a developing situation and we may need to add or reduce flights as needed. We shall review the operational conditions on a day to day basis. Please monitor your flight status regularly, and we will endeavor to provide updates should there be any changes.

FLIGHTS FOR APRIL 1 ONWARDS:

We will announce any plans for operating flights in the period from April 1 to April 12, based on developments related to the community quarantine.

FOR OUR PASSENGERS WHOSE FLIGHTS WERE CANCELED:

We are unable to rebook you automatically to the next available flight because a full restoration of our flights is not yet scheduled and the number of affected passengers is massive. We are working on the many challenges involved, but it will take some time.

We hope to have more certainty about the COVID-19 situation in the coming weeks, so we can set firm schedules and help you all with rebookings and alternative arrangements.

PLEASE NOTE:

We continue to offer the normal range of air fares on all of our flights, including lower fares with standard conditions, as approved by the Philippine Civil Aeronautics Board and the regulatory authorities of the countries we serve. We have not increased fares in any of our cabin classes.

As a public service, we are now allowing free rebooking to all passengers who were originally booked on any flight from March 15 to April 30. Any applicable fare difference is waived for passengers flying on the same cabin class on their rebooked flight. (The same free rebooking and fare difference waiver privileges are also extended to passengers of flights outside the March 15 to April 30 period who are prevented from travel due to government-imposed travel bans, mandatory quarantine or flight cancellations due to COVID-19).

PAL continues to coordinate closely with government authorities in the interest of the health and safety of all our passengers.

What are coronaviruses?

According to the World Health Organization, “Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illnesses ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV).”

What is the new 2019 Coronavirus?

A novel Coronavirus was identified in Wuhan, Hubei, China. The possible source is the Seafood City Market which has been closed since Jan 5 and sanitized. The virus can be transmitted among people. On February 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared an official name for the new coronavirus disease: COVID-19 (Corona Virus Disease 2019).

What are the symptoms and possible complications of a Coronavirus infection?

The World Health Organization cites that symptoms of Corona Virus Disease are similar to that of common flu (shortness of breath, cough, runny nose, headache, sore throat, and fever). Severe cases of the infection can lead to pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure, and even death.

What can the public do to prevent the spread of the COVID-19?

The spread of COVID-19 can be prevented through proper hygiene and etiquette:

Frequently wash your hands with soap and running water or alcohol-based cleansers, even if your hands are not visibly dirty. It is recommended to wash your hands:

a. After coughing or sneezing
b. Before and after eating
c. After toilet use
d.Before and after meal preparation
e.After handling animals/ animal waste
f. After handling meat and poultry
g. If there is visible dirt

Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

When coughing and sneezing, move away from people and cover your nose and mouth with tissue or flexed elbow. Throw away used tissues properly.

Avoid unprotected contact with farm or wild animals:

Ensure that food is well-cooked

Maintain a healthy lifestyle to build immunity. Eating nutritious food, take enough rest, exercise regularly, and drink plenty of water.

What precautionary measures are PAL taking in regard of this virus?

Philippine Airlines complies with the highest safety standards, which includes following strict sanitation and cleaning measures for our aircraft and facilities. Our aircraft are equipped with HEPA filters and air circulation systems that filter most Coronaviruses. Our ground / inflight staff are also equipped to handle passengers with or with suspected communicable diseases. However, we still encourage passengers to be careful and to take care of their personal health.

We are in close coordination with the health authorities of the countries we serve on all safety protocols and screening procedures. We temporarily stopped issuing digital boarding passes to ensure passengers pass through our check-in counters and undergo security checks at the airport. To comply with local and international regulations, we also cancelled flights to destinations that are covered by local and international lockdowns or travel bans.

Can I rebook / reroute / refund my flight?

A.   Passengers in all domestic and international flights during the Enhanced Community Quarantine period imposed by the Philippine Government from March 15 to April 30, 2020 and passengers whose flights are affected by COVID-19 cancellations or are banned for travel (even if their flight is not cancelled) may avail of the following options:

   1. Rebook or reroute once without penalties and without fare difference. The new travel date must be within November 30, 2020* or within ticket validity, whichever comes first.
   2. Convert the unused value of their ticket to a voucher for future use

      Travel Voucher Terms and Conditions:

• The Voucher is valid one (1) year after date of issuance for travel up to 12 months.
• The Voucher can be used to purchase new PAL tickets or Travel Extra/s (Prepaid Choice Seats and Prepaid Baggage only). A maximum of two (2) Vouchers can be used in a single transaction.
• For domestic flights, Senior Citizen, PWD and Military discounts shall apply subject to the presentation of valid identification.
• Passengers may top-up with cash or credit card to avail of tickets or Travel Extras with prices higher than the amount of the voucher. No change shall be given if the Voucher is exchanged for PAL tickets or Travel Extras less than its face value.
• The Voucher is non-transferable and is convertible to cash.

Note: The said passengers may also refund the unused value of their ticket without penalties. Domestic tickets that are cancelled due to lockdowns may still be processed after April 12, 2020.

*Rebooking and rerouting with blackout travel dates for Canada and United States:

1. Inbound (Canada/United States to Manila): June 15, 2020 until July 31, 2020
2. Outbound (Manila to Canada/United States): July 15, 2020 until September 15, 2020

B.   For voluntary changes (flights not affected by cancellations or travel bans, travelling on May 1, 2020 onwards, and ticketed on or before March 31, 2020), passengers may opt for the following:

   1. Rebook or reroute once without penalties to a later flight with available seat(s) within the ticket validity period. To avail of this benefit, passengers must rebook/reroute up to 7 days before departure



          Note: Rebooking and rerouting must be within the same booking class. Applicable fare rules and taxes will be collected

   2. Convert the unused value of their ticket to a voucher for future use

       Travel Voucher Terms and Conditions:

PAL Ticket Offices in Visayas and Mindanao regions are open according to regular schedule.

Do I need to prepare for additional screening at the Airport?

Due to additional screening in line with the COVID-19, we advise departing passengers to adjust their arrival time at the airport terminal for check-in:

at least 4 hours before scheduled time of departure or by 8:00PM latest for international flights from Manila
at least 3 hours for all other International flights
at least 3 hours for all Domestic flights or by 8:00PM latest if departing from Manila

All passengers arriving in Manila are likewise required to accomplish arrival cards and to undergo screening through the Immigration counters. Given this, the Immigration eGates for Philippine Passport holders at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport arrivals area are temporary disabled.

How do I know if there are changes or cancellations on my flight booking?

Passengers may check their flight status by visiting the Flight Status tab on the PAL website 48 hours before your trip. Information is available 2 days before until 2 days after the original flight schedule.

Where should I consult if I feel unwell at the airport before my flight?

For March 20 to 31, PAL will temporarily suspend services between Manila and Auckland, Port Moresby, Melbourne, Taipei, Jakarta, Bali, Sapporo, Phnom Penh, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Dubai. Flights to/from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Korea, Qatar and Saudi Arabia remain suspended.

A full restoration of PAL’s network is not possible at this time. The suspension of public transportation and other impediments to movement within and into Metro Manila, due to the ongoing community quarantine, have limited the manpower levels at Manila airport.
Furthermore, travel bans and restrictions imposed by various governments have forced the cancellation of some routes and significantly reduced actual travel between countries amid the COVID-19 situation.

Please note that this is a developing situation and we may need to add or reduce flights as needed. We shall review the operational conditions on a day to day basis. Please monitor your flight status regularly, and we will endeavor to provide updates should there be any changes.

FLIGHTS FOR APRIL 1 ONWARDS:

We will announce any plans for operating flights in the period from April 1 to April 12, based on developments related to the community quarantine.

PLEASE NOTE:

We continue to offer the normal range of air fares on all of our flights, including lower fares with standard conditions, as approved by the Philippine Civil Aeronautics Board and the regulatory authorities of the countries we serve. We have not increased fares in any of our cabin classes.
As a public service, we are now allowing free rebooking to all passengers who were originally booked on any flight from March 15 to April 30. Any applicable fare difference is waived for passengers flying on the same cabin class on their rebooked flight. (The same free rebooking and fare difference waiver privileges are also extended to passengers of flights outside the March 15 to April 30 period who are prevented from travel due to government-imposed travel bans, mandatory quarantine or flight cancellations due to COVID-19.

PAL continues to coordinate closely with government authorities in the interest of the health and safety of all our passengers.

PAL Advisory #37

Flag carrier Philippine Airlines has continued to operate a number of international flights in response to urgent public need and the Philippine Government's call for an air service lifeline to ferry out stranded foreign nationals.

As a public service, PAL is extending full free rebooking privileges to all passengers who were booked on any flight during the community quarantine period from March 15, and beyond up to April 30. Effective immediately, any applicable fare difference is waived for passengers flying ON THE SAME cabin class on their rebooked flight.

These free rebooking and fare difference waiver privileges are also extended to passengers of flights from outside the March 15 to April 30 period who are prevented from travel due to government-imposed travel bans, quarantines or flight cancellations due to COVID-19.

Following a full schedule of flights to various countries yesterday, PAL intends to serve the following routes today (March 19):

North America: Los Angeles, San Francisco, Vancouver, Toronto, Guam
Australia and Pacific: Sydney, Guam
Middle East: Dubai

PAL have mounted special sweeper flights today ( March 19) on the Cebu-Manila sector to carry foreign nationals who urgently need to board international flights to their home countries from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

With the lifting of the 72-hour window for international travel, the flag carrier is marshaling resources to operate limited international services on selected routes for March 20 and beyond, and will announce the details in due course.

The final decision will depend on whether the airline, its service providers and the authorities can overcome increasing challenges, including the difficulty of securing enough manpower at the airports to support these operations given quarantine restrictions, and a growing series of travel bans and restrictions imposed by various countries.

NEW ENTRY RESTRICTIONS : SINGAPORE, MALAYSIA, CANADA, VIETNAM

In response to the COVID-19 situation, the health authorities of the following countries have added strict new requirements for entry of travelers:

SINGAPORE

Effective MARCH 16, 2020 at 11:59PM, all travelers from the Philippines and other ASEAN countries will be given a stay-home notice (self-quarantine) for 14 days upon arrival. This applies to Singapore residents, long-term pass holders and short-term visitors.

MALAYSIA

All passengers of all nationalities, except for returning Malaysian residents, are not allowed to enter Malaysia from MARCH 18 to 31, 2020. Returning Malaysian residents are advised to go through health checks and to complete a self-isolation period (self-quarantine) for 14 days upon arrival.

CANADA

All nationalities (except Canadian citizens, their immediate family members, permanent residents and American citizens) will not be allowed to enter Canada starting from March 18, 2020 at 12:01 AM EDT (12:01 PM Philippine time). Canadian citizens, permanent residents and American citizens will be advised to self-isolate (self quarantine) upon arrival after undergoing enhanced health screening at the border control. They may enter only through four gateways, namely the airports of Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary and Montreal.

VIETNAM

All passengers traveling from ASEAN countries (e.g. the Philippines) will be required to undergo 14-day quarantine upon arrival in Vietnam.

OTHERS

We wish to appeal to our dear PAL passengers NOT to proceed to the airport terminals or the PAL Ticket Office for your ticketing and transaction needs during this time of heightened concern over COVID-19, except for passengers with urgent travel. (Only international flights are operating at this time.)

PAL has closed our ticket offices in the Metro Manila area in line with the enhanced community quarantine.

While our Ticket Office at NAIA Terminal 2 (T2) remains open to serve the most urgent transaction needs, visiting the T2 Ticket Office for other transactions is highly discouraged in the interest of public health and safety. We are unable to fully accommodate the very high volume of requests related to thousands of cancelled flights over a four-week period, reportedly the largest mass cancellation ever to affect the entire Philippine aviation industry. Public transportation and other quarantine-related constraints make it challenging to provide full staffing at the airport and Ticket Office, and indeed we appreciate the dedication of our staff who do their best to care for our customers despite those challenges.

You may use our PAL hotline (02) 88558888 for your transaction needs (rebooking, rerouting etc.). However we have also been experiencing a surge in the volume of calls. Please consider deferring rebookings and other transactions until after the lifting of the quarantine period on April 12.

Philippine Airlines is gradually reverting to normal operations at Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport, as atmospheric conditions improve in the vicinity of Metro Manila, following the safety-related airport closure caused by volcanic ash emissions from last Sunday's Taal Volcano eruption.

We are in the process of operating replacement flights on certain routes to assist passengers affected by recent cancellations, and in a few cases we are upgrading certain flights to larger-capacity widebody aircraft to deal with the overflow of affected passengers. Nearly all of our scheduled flights are operating regularly, although some with timing adjustments. It will take time to work through schedule recovery efforts as we redistribute the fleet, undertake rigorous additional inspections and maintenance checks of our Manila-based and Clark-based aircraft to ensure safety, and adjust to airport slotting constraints and airspace restrictions.

As a result, we are compelled to declare the cancellation of the following flights today, 14 January 2020:

To accommodate affected passengers of the above cancellations, we are arranging for a replacement Manila-Davao-Manila flight to operate this afternoon, for the upgrading of our PR 732/733 Manila-Bangkok-Manila service tonight from Airbus A321 to a larger A330 aircraft, and for a replacement Manila-Nagoya flight to operate early tomorrow morning.

For flight rebooking or refunding, affected passengers may call PAL Hotline (02) 8855 8888. If you purchased your ticket through a travel agent, please contact your agent immediately.

We will continue to work in collaboration with the airport and aviation authorities, as well as our partner service providers, to closely monitor the ongoing Taal Volcano situation so that the aviation industry can respond appropriately to any further developments.

Please be advised that the Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA) has been working with its business partners and public transport operators to implement measures that ensure operations of Airport Express trains but with slight adjustments.

From 11:30PM until close of service from November 4 to 8, Airport Express will only shuttle between Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) and Hong Kong Station. This means airport-bound Airport Express trains will only take passengers from Hong Kong Station to the airport, while city-bound Airport Express trains from the airport will only stop at Hong Kong Station.

13. Tickets issued online or outside of the Philippines does not include Philippine Travel Tax (PH tax). Philippine Travel Tax is applicable to Philippine passport holders, foreigners holding a Philippine resident visa, and foreign tourists or expatriates who have stayed in the Philippines for more than one year.
14. Fare is refundable when application for visa is denied; subject to a fee. Passenger must show proof of application and denial at any PAL Ticket Office. Flight reservation must be cancelled upon passenger’s receipt of visa denial or 7 days prior to departure, whichever is earlier. For visa denial within 7 days prior to departure date, PAL will collect a No Show fee unless booking is cancelled 24 hours before departure date.
