I am alive with Communication Problems

Its a hard life when you are blogging with a team. Blogging With Success team has 4 members right now. I am from India, Fransiska is from Indonesia, Shirley is from U.S.A. and J is from Taiwan. There is big difference in our time zones. This leads to communication problems. Sending everyoneresponses. We had to find a way to overcome communication problems and at the same time, a private one. We don't want our ideas to be public before we want! Thankfully, we got the perfect solution. It is Google Groups.

Like most of Google services, it is free and secure. We made a private group where only members can log in and write. Now, communication problems have been successfully been overcome.

And I am alive! You might have thought that I am dead as I not posted for 6 days. I was too busy with Blogging With Success. We are also participating in Blogging Idol 2, so you can help us by subscribing to BWS feed.

Finally, I found the way to add images in the middle of posts. It was a problem with Opera, but now in K-Meleon, a Gecko based browser ( Gecko is the name of Firefox Engine ), I can drag and drop images. I am still waiting for the day when Google starts supporting Opera fully.

Raj Thakre. A Leader, A Crackpot or A Cracked-Pot?

So, Raj Thakre will not sit quite! First, all the Marathi Manush (or whatever that is) drama, attacks on North Indians and now attacks on North Indian students. Is he mad? Oops... Sorry for asking, I know the answer, he is mad!

Why should I not call him mad? Anyone attacking people without any reasons is mad. You an not call his 'reason' a real reason. He is just polishing his politics. I just wish he had a web-site. Has he?Yes, he has. In Marathi only. That's good or he would have good 100's of hate mails from bloggers. What can he do outside Mumbai? Nothing, of course. And I am not the only one, here are a few lines from other Indian bloggers:

"If I say I am ashamed of being a part of such a country where people like Raj Thakre exist, that would be an understatement" -Atul Manchanda. He also writes, "If his party workers are so much concerned about local mumbaikars why don’t they use their power to fight against terrorism? Why do they attack the common man always? Is it because a common man doesn’t have power to oppose his workers?" I completely agree with him. And one thing, what do we call people who attack common men, Terrorists I think. So, why should we not call him and his followers terrorists?

Here is what I found on Blog Mantra, "Any fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius-and a lot of courage-to move in the opposite direction.”- Albert Einstein. The writer also asks a good question, "Is Raj Thakre King of Mumbai or A Crackpot?" Well according to me, he is none of these! He is a cracked-pot!

How is Google's new browser? Like everyone around, I also wanted to see how well it is. But, it seems like Google released it too soon.

I tried to download it the day it was released. The installer downloaded well but did not work the way it had to. It just hanged and did not download anything. Last week, I tried again and this time, the browser was installed. Rest of the story, that's horrible!

When I tried starting the browser, I was welcomed byan error message. Whenever I try to visit a page in browser, a error page is displayed.

Right now, I want to add screenshots to this post but Blogger alignment seems to be off work. Every image I add is added on the top of post! Tell me about your experience with Chrome.

It was just a surprise for me. I was reading Fransiska's Blog when I read her post about her Page Rank increasing to 1. I went on and checked my own Page Rank and found the above image. I did not believe this so easily because I have had a bad experience at one such site when it showed my Page Rank 1. Just for fun, I typed Google.com for checking and surprise, their PAge Rank was also 1! The service showed every sites Page Rank 1. Try yourself here. 11 Annoying Things on A Blog

I was busy surfing when I found an article Top 3 Most Annoying Things on a Blog.It was quite interesting and insp

1. Cats and Dogs: While 1 or 2 personal posts on your pet or personal life are OK, a personal post every second day on a blog that is not personal will omly put readers away.
2. New Tabs: Every link opening in new tab just annoys. Remember, if your content is interesting enough, reader can easily use back buton.
3. Dead Links: Links not opening at all are more annoying than new tabs. So, doublw check your links!
4. Rankings: What interests a reader is Content. What if you are showing your Page Rank or any other directory rank in your sidebar? What is its use for visitor?
5. Useless Widgets: When placing widgets, think as a visitor. Will you like that user location widget? Again, just ask yourself, "What is its use to visitor?"
6. Directory Banners: Why would someone want to see a list of the directories you are listed in?
7. Copyscape Banner: If a copyscape banner could stop content scrapping, everyone would have been using it! But do they?
8. Long Blogrolls: Blogrolls are useful but only when they contain useful links and not just reciprocal links!
9. Advertisements: Advertisements are not bad. But when they are in numbers, they are! So, remember to place ads wisely!
10. Long Loading Times: When blogging, remember one thing, "You are not the only blogger in this world." No one will wait 5 minutes for you page to load. Avoid overusing flash and javascript.
11. Ghost Writers: This is a problem with new blogs. No one likes to read content written by ghosts! Place a small "About Me" and "Contact Me" widget in sidebar.

After many days of searching, I found a Popular Posts Widget for Blogger at AideRSS. Preeviously, I was using Blogger Buster's popular posts widget but it stopped working due to some problem with Yahoo! Pipes and diaplayed wiered links. I was in hunt of a new one and finally found one.

This new widget is more feature rich than previous one. Blogger Buster's widget showed posts on the basis of comments only. AideRSS widget shows the popular posts on the basis of Post Rank. Post Rank itself is determined on the basis of Diggs, Stumbles and other bookmaking services!

Get Paid for Social Networking!

Most of people around like social networking. But most of the time, people are busy making friends. But now, you can make money making friends! Yes, you read it right first time!

MyPage5 is a social network that will pay you for the things you do on any other social. You will be paid via Paypal/Check when you reach at least $50. There is no page that tells how much you are paid. I surfed a bit around and figured out the payments:

Joining: $5.00
Logging In: $0.01
Writing a Blog Entry: $0.10
Commenting on Blog Entry: $0.02

But stop, here is what I found in Blogs section:

"I signed up in Mypage5 almost three days ago, and haven't seen my 5 dollars bonus anywhere. I uploaded my photo at registration, so what about my reward? I hope Mypage5 Team answer me as soon as possible to let people know throw this blog entry that is working fine. But by the moment I've already sent a couple of feedbacks and email messages to ask for my 5 dollars bonus reward and I just receive dark and disappointing silence. Everyone feels blank once in a while! Sometimes you sit to write something but end up doing something else because you do not have any new idea. I myself do feel like this a lot of times! But thankfully, I have found a good solution now. I read many blogs for new post ideas and finally, this tip from Daily Blog Tips worked for me. The tip as I named it is:

Time Attack: First, I am not talking about some game. Its about challenging yourself! Take a pen, a paper and set a time limit. In this time limit, think quickly and write whatever ideas come to your mind. This will surely get you some ideas. Things are getting Worse.

Huh!
First my father took my U.S.B. modem with him(he says it was a mistake but I know it was not!) and now he forgot it there at office. Since office is 100+ km. away, I will get my modem on Wednesday. First I.S.P. problems and now this. The I.S.P. blackout stopped me for 7 days and now 3 more! My blog has suffered much. I was getting 50 hits a day before I.S.P. problem, now are near 10!

Sorry, My Hat is White!

I got an invitation from the Black Hat community! I won’t say much but here is an excerpt from a message I got:

"You can try something else and earn money.This what all the people are doing and earning alot. "I will open your site ads(only 3 times a month and 4 ads each time with time gap of minutes for each)".With this agreement we both can earn 15$ per month. So imagin if you have 10 friends like this you will cheque everymonth What do you say? I followed when some one offered me same and got succeded. Think and reply to start out mission."

I refused the offer but the message left me a lot of thoughts. Is this the way new people make money over the internet? That’s how they are so successful? I have made a bit from adsense but this may be a good offer! Why should I waste my time writing good content and promoting my blog? Instead, I can make 10 or 20 such friends and earn a lot!

Such things disappoint me a lot! Hundreds of new bloggers adopt White Hat techniques but a bit of such Black Hats make all their efforts a waste!

I can sit and hope Google to catch these criminals. What else can I do? Yes, I can do a lot! Why not report to Google? So, I have got a plan! I can contact them through the "Ads by Google" text of their ads. By clicking on ads, I can send a message to Google team. I have done this twice before and will have to do it again. So, I will send this person a mail accepting the offer and ask his url. However, I will not click his ads neither click his ads. I just need to know the url and that’s it!

Why am I doing all this? The answer is simple, I love ethics and right ways. When someone greedy makes money this way, it will affect all of us. Imagine, if 50% of bloggers are engaged in such criminal activities, ad networks will finally close down. They will make money but not let the others make it! This is just a hypothetical situations but conditions may get worse. So, I will report this guy!

I found this interesting article on wikiHow and thought everyone will need it sometime! If you do not need it, read just for fun!Everyone can name someone who's nice, pretty, smart, funny, etc. Want to impress that certain girl? Here's what to do and what not to do.

Steps

Be well-groomed. Brush your teeth, floss, shower, wash your hair, and apply acne medicine (if you have a problem with your skin) daily. Don't wear your pants off your butt, it's not that attractive to the majority of girls. This is essential if you are even going to approach an attractive girl. Wear clean, attractive clothes (if in doubt, get an older sister or close female friend to help you in this department).
Have a good attitude. No girl likes to watch a guy put on a show, so be yourself. Don't try to impress everyone - girls like humble guys. At the same time, a sense of humor is always a plus.
Show respect. If you respect everyone and give them their space, they'll all respect you. With girls, it works even better. If they see you respecting everyone, and not getting pushed around while you're at it, they will be reassured that you will treat them right. Be kind to all.
Have good conversations. Don't talk about how you beat the big-bad-boss on level 23 gazillion of a video game...unless you know them well enough that you know they play that game, or are at least semi-interested (otherwise, it's just a big jumble to her). Try to aim for you both to be speaking 50% of the time, but make sure that you are saying something worthwhile; it's not attractive when only one person talks endlessly.
Show interest in her - let her talk. The #1 mistake when talking to a girl is focusing on yourself. Girls are way more comfortable when they talk about common interests. Ask about their interests, hobbies, favorite books, music, etc. but not in that stalker kind of way. If she asks you a question, answer it in a few, short sentences and then redirect the question back at her. This engages her in the conversation. When in doubt, compliment her.
Try flirting! If you both make eye contact, do not be the one to look away, but do not stare for too long. When you both make eye contact, just give a slight smile. She may look away and she might blush a little. Be careful though; you don't want to stare her down. A good move is to look away, and if she likes you she will shoot you glances. Watch for that.
Respect her friends and their ideas and opinions. Always speak highly of her and never talk trash about her. It will damage her reputation and yours and she'll possibly dump you. Of course, her friends are going to tell her that you trash talked her. Hopefully then it will work both ways - she will be tolerant of your friends. Be careful not to compliment her friends too much, however. Example: You may say "Your friends seem cool. We should hang out with them and my friends some time, I think they'd get along". You may not say "Sally is so hot. She has the nicest eyes".
Have your friends be nice to her It's a fantastic thing when your friends don't make a total fool of you. Warn them ahead of time and avoid topics pertaining to embarrassing moments of your past or awkward jokes that make very little sense.
Be polite to her parents. Be kind to everyone, especially them. Don't be too over-the-top charming with the parents, however, or they'll think that you have something to hide.
Don't criticize her. Unless she asks for constructive criticism.
Be romantic, but not over the top. If you've been dating for a while you may attempt a grand romantic gesture (note: "A while"=a month MINIMUM) otherwise, you'll look like a stalker.
Start talking to her casually. If you don't know her, make friendly conversation. Ask for the time, and/or compliment her watch.
Do not play "hard to get". Sure, you'll get their attention for a day or two then after a while, the girl will end up frustrated or think that you hate her for whatever reason, and she'll think you don't find interest in her anymore. Or if she likes a guy who's like that, her friends might not like you because you're acting like a jerk (this happens way too much).
Be careful with what you say. Remember, Hotty McHotterson is not your pal Lenny. Do not discuss bodily functions in her presence, or make jokes of a sexual nature unless she starts doing so.
Hum a few bars of a song she likes around her. She might think of you whenever she hears that song. And she'll probably be impressed by your good taste in music. Some girls have actually dumped guys or stopped liking guys when they insulted the music they like. So, it's OK not to like her music, but don't be insulting her favorite singer/band! Try to agree with her as much as possible but not so over the top that she knows your not being yourself. Make sure the song is not overtly feminine however. For instance, a Killers song is okay, an Ashley Tisdale song, not so much.
Start an inside joke with her! She will feel included and become closer to you. It also gives you an easy-to-come-up-with conversation starter. Try not to overuse it and kill the joke.
End later meetings with a hug, or plans to meet some other time, if you can.
Do not tell her that you "like her". Ask her out. If she rejects you, all is well. Example: You: "Betty, want to go to dinner on Saturday night?" Betty: "Sorry, I just think of you as a friend" You: "Oh, no offense. A bunch of us were talking about going, and I thought you might like to join us."
Try to get her attentions to your plus and away from minus , but be original !!!
Touch her ocassionally, like on the shoulder or hand.(but be sure to do it in a non-threatening way)!
Opposites attract. Be a courageous gentleman, not coy like a lady might be. Stand up for her,

Tips

If you hold a girl around her hips, it will seem like a romantic move for her. Girls LOVE romantic moves. She will feel important, and that someone actually likes her. If she says to stop, stop. Nothing is worse then then a girl seeing you as a harrasser. If she acts a little odd, stop. Don't take it personally because some girls just don't know how to act around guys. Do it another day if this happens.
Show sympathy and affection. If the girl you really enjoy being around is sad or hurt, give her a quick hug. Don't just say that you're sorry and you hope she feels better. Hold your left arm around her waist, right hand at the base of her neck or holding her head.
If you have braces, glasses and acne... don't be disheartened! Wear contacts, use some Proactiv/Accutane, and voila. Girls put a lot of effort into their appearance, perhaps you should do the same. But don't think just because you have braces, glasses, or acne, that the world is over, sometimes it works! Many people believe that braces are a fashion statement!
Have good posture!
Don't act tough or try to be a thug. This doesn't attract girls.
Don't follow her around everywhere. It automatically gives you a reputation as a stalker, and it will freak her out. Even following her just a little can create a stalker rep., depending on how you act. How you act can determine whether she will actually want you to be around her all the time or if even just seeing your face is too much contact. if you know she see's you as a stalker, lay off because trying to do damage control tends to just worsen your situation, instead try to get a friend of your or of hers to help your issue.
If she just doesn't get that you like her (which most likely won't happen because girls are pretty good at detecting this kind of stuff!) drop hints.
Don't play games. Waiting a few days to call her , showing up a little late to things or anything like that is only proving you are unreliable, a fake and a loser. Likewise, don't tolerate it if she does any of these things to you.
Use correct grammar when texting her or talking to her. If you don't then she will think that you aren't very intelligent and that will turn certain girls off.
While it's important to connect to her friends, you must avoid coming off as a player. If a girl's friends do not approve of you, this will influence her opinion of you.
Don't be weird around her.
Don't be a fake.

Warnings

If you have followed all the steps above and it didn't work, don't feel disheartened. Be proud that you made an effort and accept that it wasn't meant to be. If you decide to still be friends, don't be bitter if she moves on to a new guy.
Also, it says above that some girls like to talk about themselves- remember, some girls do. Some also would rather not have you obsessing about her hobbies, sports, etc. Be cool. Relate what she's saying to something about you, and then continue the conversation.
[Remember to talk about yourself and your own hobbies etc. That way you come off as a good conversationalist and as a person with a life.]
Every girl is different! Find out if she likes tattoos before you show her the skull and crossbones tattoo on your chest! (It's probably a bad idea to get a skull and crossbones tattoo on your chest (or elsewhere))

Don't talk about her weight or ask her anything related to this subject. Even the girls with the most attractive bodies have insecurities. Even a comment intended as a joke could seriously hurt her feelings. Leave this subject alone.
At the same time, keep your own weight in check. Eat healthfully and work out. Don't go too crazy with the body building, but being toned never hurts. Watch out for skinny-fat (where you are skinny but flabby).
Girls love confident guys, but don't be cocky. A cocky guy turns girls off.
If you have problems with shyness, think of the most confident person you know and of what they would do in each situation. Don't be fake, just change your mindset.
Girls like that you care enough to buy them something. Don't go overboard and get flowers for her unless the time calls for it or she is very likely to think you did something wrong.
Some girls don't really know what to talk about with a guy so they might tend to talk about things you don't care about or go on and on about who said what. Don't be mean about it even though you're fighting boredom because it could of taken her a lot of courage to talk to you. Just show interest and change the subject to something more interesting, or politely exit the conversation.
Do not chew gum when talking to her. You should throw it away, if there are no trash bins, do not chew with your mouth open, pop, or blow bubbles.

Why is Spider Solitaire so addictive?

I am not an addict of Spider Solitaire, but I am still wandering why is it so addictive? My father plays it, and now even my school teachers!

Our school management decided to install computers in labs. But management would never thought that teachers may play games too! In out Physics class, Lab Assistant sir was playing a miniclip game! And in our Maths class, one Math teacher was playing Spider Solitaire.

I know this game a bit but I have never found why is Spider Solitaire so addictive? My father has been playing it for last 8 years and is not yet bored! In this time, I have tried at least 80 games. So, why is Spider Solitaire so addictive? I have no idea! Do you have any interesting answer to "Why is Spider Solitaire so addictive?" Tell me if you have got one.
