Understanding Grace.

There are a lot of questions both in the church and by those who are not as of yet, in the church, as to what Grace really is. Grace according to Gods Word is a free gift, given to us by God w/ all we have to do to receive it, is to simply, receive it!
However....there is a work to be done. by us.
Well, don't most things require something of us? Well Grace though it is free, requires us all something. Think of it, if it didn't, then Jesus Death on the cross...would have been in VAIN! I mean if there were no "obedience" attached to Grace....then it could be "trampled" by those who mis understood this gift. Could and I might say IS...trampled today by many. Even with in the church. The Bible says in Romans 1:5 That it is thru Him, Christ, that we received Grace, TO PROMOTE OBEDIENCE TO THE FAITH..." THAT...is the clincher. Our Faith though bought by Christ and received as we are by faith, after that point is a choice by us for change. Without change, there has been no real Faith. We are called by Christ to belong to HIM. We when we become saved, give our lives, our hearts, our beings, our wills...to HIM. To be made...daily in to...His image....It is indeed a process a walk. It doesn't happen overnight. But that doesn't mean it SHOULDN'T T happen! As Paul said NO. The Bible says are you so blind as to "trifle" with Gods wealth of kind ness and forbearance .." Romans 2:4
To trifle means to make petty, insignificant, or with no substance.
Our "substance" is what we are really made of. That Faith that we received, by Grace is formed by staying IN...Gods Word and prayer. For goodness sakes, if the gates were open to all to live and stay as they are...It would then say in Gods Word that WIDE is the gate to Heaven and MANY there be that find it, when in FACT...it says just the opposite, that NARROW is the GATE to Heaven and FEW ...there be that find it. Because you can see clearly that in this last day and age we're living in, that people are under the impression that EVERYONE is good enough to get in. That SURELY a GOD OF LOVE AND MERCY wouldn't send ANYONE...to Hell, once they are standing teary eyed at the gates. Well that just isn't the case. He's given us the way, thru Christ His son. And given us His Word, as the text book to this life. And it clearly REQUIRES...a walk...of OBEDIENCE to...that Word. We're saved by faith but the Word also says in Romans 1:17 that the JUST...shall LIVE...by FAITH. Its a life Style Not a once at an altar confession and then go back to live our lives as normal.
The Bible says he'll render to every man, ACCORDING to...His works. Rom. 1:6.
See today it seems that man lives w/ "No fear or respect of God...before their eyes. " Ro. 1:10-18. But, do I have the slightest notion, that I ...or anyone can be...perfect then? No, its a striving, not a saying, well none of us are perfect, so don't "judge me", I won't, "judge" you, and we'll all live like we want and God will someday, let us in to live happily ever after.
No and Heavens no! God requires more of us, if he didn't we'd make light, of all that Jesus WENT thru to buy our Salvation.
Come on, do we really think we went thru all of that, so we can live this life any way we please and be let in as we are. Romans 12: 1-2 says, and be NOT conformed or like this world and its ways. But to be Transformed or made new by the daily renewing in Gods Word. I can't do it alone neither can you or by that we look at Gods son and say, nah, your death wasn't needed Because I'm getting in to Heaven anyway. If life were really like that, why would it say WIDE is the gate to destruction and Narrow the path to HEAVEN...What would be the dividing line? Of who gets in and who doesn't....you'd say, we'll you're "judging", no I'm reading word for word, Gods Word. and taking it at...Its Word. You see, we want it at...our way Gods Word. If that were the case all would go to Heaven. But there is...indeed a Heaven and a Hell. Gods Word speaks plainly of both and how to avoid the one and go to the other. He speaks plainly of who...he'll NOT allow in to Heaven, and we say, well that's your opinion of Gods Word but its there, written...what do we do with Hell? Do we think it just for the murderer? You see, even he...gets in if he repents...but, the Bible says, w/out Repentance there is NO forgiveness of sin. Repentance is change. pure and simple. It isn't staying the same. That's not repentance This world today is a "I'm ok you're ok, generation." Its a world that thinks if you call anything, what it really is...that's judging. Its a world that wants its cake and wants to eat it too. It wants to be on a diet, but take a pill and loose tons of weight. If only we could get in to Heaven, by taking a pill. Hey, what about by speaking some words at an altar? Well, that should...do the trick? Or so we think. But it's not a trick. My word, think of the apostles that lost their very LIVES...for LIVING out...this life of Faith!! They could have stayed the same, and not been murdered for what they believed in! But that's NOT Faith! All of those listed in the "Hall of Fame", of Faith, in Gods Word...
.IT COST THEM SOMETHING
and for many if not most...it cost their life! But see, that's just not today's way of thinking. So next we think, well, perhaps, God being such a good God, has "changed" according to this day and age we live in. I mean, He's a God of the year 2013 isn't He?? Heb 13: 8 says, He's the same, yesterday today, and forever. His Word never...changes. What was true then, is true now. If he destroyed cities then, because of sin, believe me you, there is still penalty for sin, and that same type of sin...today, he HAS"N"T changed. Go on, to Romans 6:8-14 These verses show us that we cannot let sin to continue as it once did...to RULE...our bodies...we have to change. We can't do it on our own. You or those loved ones you're praying for, can INDEED be changed, by the POWER of God and His love! Pray for them and don't give up! If its you...there IS...HOPE! But do we let sin, keep on, the Bible says, NO! It says for the wages of those sins, is death...eternal separation from God...but the GIFT...of God is Eternal life. Rom 6:23 1 Corinthians 6:9-13 lays it all out...It says that those who do the things it list, will not inherit Eternal life/The Kingdom of God. He says, Your body is a temple, glorify God in and thru it. Again, obedience. Please understand, some people at this point say, well if that's it, I don't want a part in it. I don't want to go to a place where some aren't going to make it. Really? What if your child looked at you and said, if you're making me choose between what I want to do and what YOU, want me to do, I'm doing my thing, and if you make me , well, then, this is not a home I want to live in, and they moved out! Well, really, that is exactly what we're saying of Gods Word, when we choose to do it our way. Or,Think of if we looked at an police officer, who pulls us over for speeding and say to him, well that's YOUR interpretation of the law...I was only going FIVE over, I wasn't hurting anyone...I'm quite sure he'd hand us/you, the ticket anyway and say, none the less, it IS...the law. We try to kick obedience, from the moment we're young.
Now, Think of the two year old's most famous word. Its usually, "NO!"...They right away try to shirk, what we command, for what they WANT...to do. Sadly, even in homes today, its become the norm to say, well, we just let them do as they want, don't want to make any waves, don't want to spank our children, so we let them go on as THEY...please. Well I'm sure your CHILD...knows more than the adult...who's lived this life? Wow, have we gone that far off track? Indeed we have.
And sadly, its crept so far in to the church, that even a preacher, now a days, who preaches Gods Word as it is written, is accused of judging, instead of WARNING...of the real...JUDGEMENT...to come if they CHOOSE...to stay the same. You see, really, I may just love you enough to tell you, that change is better now. That Heaven and Hell are real. And that the choosing, is up to you and I, and by those choices are too...our lifestyles....we choose to live.
I challenge you today, and pray so deeply that you see, and understand, that though Gods Grace is free...Its still requires something on our parts...It requires our LIVES! As Gods Word says too, that your life is no longer your own, it was bought with a price, the very blood of Jesus Christ! What a price he paid! He laid his life down, to buy me, and you...Eternal life! Why would I ever shun that free gift by saying, I'd rather keep doing it my way. Who would possibly look at what's behind two doors and choose...the one to death and say, surely at the end...He won't send me there. Is that a choice...you're really...willing to make?
I pray you understand, that it is free, but just as it cost Christ, it cost you and I. Why should I get off any less than my Lord? And truly I AM. For I'm not being KILLED...to receive Him. Though we act at times like we are.
Like a two year old thrashing about to still get their way, why would we thrash about trying to do this life our way, and still attain Eternal life. Instead why not, Choose life...with all its blessing and richness...choose life...its not my Word its His. Choose life, for the other choice is just as real, and not a place I'd want to go. Choose life, For I'd rather not...hope...that living my life as I wanted to, and leaving the most important decision of all was good enough, to get in to Heaven and instead be shunning Gods gift...OF GRACE!!

<link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/blogspot/cUZIb/~3/FfomRILg9Bw/gracefree-or-not-understanding-grace.html" title="Grace...Free or NOT? I wish you were one or the other! So, because you are Lukewarm -- neither hot nor cold -- I am about to spit you out of my mouth" (Revelation 3:15-16 NIV). "Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord" (Romans 12:11 NIV). Or in other words, don't ever be boring, or quiet w/ your fire in serving God but have some FIRE TO YA! Zeal is fire! Are you, "ON FIRE", or at a half burn? Or not burnin at all?

I was just thinking of the Hot and or Cold comparison today, as I was pretty COLD...from being out for just a little while in this most recent snow storm we're getting! You see, personally, I love to be hot, when I'm cold or cold, when it's hot...but that in between, is really "for the birds". I mean if its really hot out you wouldn't want to be 1/2 cooled off, you'd want to be COLD off!! Or, if you're really cold from the snow, you'd want to get hot...I mean, I can't get it hot enough if I'm cold!! I don't want to be warm, I want to be HOT! In other words, luke warm, isn't a very good temperature. I mean, think of a lukewarm bath? Nah! I'd rather it to be a nice hot bath!! Jesus compares our walk with Him, as either being hot or cold, and that, being lukewarm really makes him literally SICK to his stomach, enough to throw up! Pretty strong comparison I'd say! Its funny though, when a person really is "on fire" for God people, even some Christians, tend to think the poor ole fella a nut?! They say, "No cause to get all riled up and emotional". Just calm down, you're getting too radical with this "Jesus" stuff!! But on the same hand, we can hoot and hollar at ball games and that is simply known as showing radical emotion for your team, and that's ok, for some reason?! But , getting too radical for the Lord? hmm...Well, why do I want to be half way for God? I mean, if He's not worth going "all out" or all In...for? Is He really worth it to me??? I posted a blog about whats it going to "cost" us, and there IS INDEED a cost to knowing Christ! The question is still How much are you willing to pay, or how far are you willing to go? I mean, Christ went ALL THE WAY! To His death, burial, and Resurrection for our lives. He paid the full and ultimate price. He didn't give half he gave his all. I'm wondering? Is it just the emotion that makes people nervous?? I mean, if I'm real emotional for my Faith, then I'm considered a radical, But if I'm real "emotional" for a ball team or foot ball team, I'm just showing "spirit"!!?? I'm not getting it?? I mean, what's the difference?? I want to be all the way for God or I'm not in at all!! You see, I'm at the age in life where I realize, it sure isn't all about my house size, or my job being what I'm measured by, or what do my children "do", or where do they, "go to school/or college" ? But are jobs, careers, spouses, land, money, is that the "measure" of a man? NO! its not! I'm to the age, where I realize, that Eternity is real! I've personally seen...two people pass from this life to the next...and in doing so, realize first hand, that this ole body is just a shell! Its true, its real, that we are....who our "spirit man" is. We are either, A spiritual being, or NOT. But there is not in between truly! I mean, if you say, well, I'm saved, but I just don't want to get, "all hyper", about my faith! I'm just not going around talking about it all the time, I'm just not, sharing it with people. Well, um, are you sure you have a faith? Because, we tend to talk about and share....those things that are indeed, IMPORTANT...to us!! I mean, take for instance someone newly in love. Man, that's all they'll talk to you about, is the person they are in love WITH. But guess what? You'll KNOW....from talking to them...WHERE THEIR HEART TRULY IS!! You can tell!! It shows!! Well, isn't our Faith, with God, loving Him? and Him, loving us? You say, well yeah, but I'm just not getting all "crazy", or "radical", with my faith. A radical means,

And its NOT! Or a person holds certain views and we say nothing about what we think of those views, because, we don't want to "get involved". Its looked at , as, "none of our business"? But Jesus didn't pull any punches w/ the woman at the well, when he told her rightly so, for you have FIVE husbands...and the one you are with now, is not...your husband. wow, what a bold statement he made! People today, sadly even alot of Christians might say, wow, he's gettin all up in her junk?!! Well yeah he was, that's how he was going to offer her change...but today, we want to say its all ok. I'm ok, you're ok. And none of us are perfect. Well that is true, but that shouldn't be how we STAY. Imperfect. We should always...be striving toward change. If we are NOT...we've become satisfied and lukewarm, toward or with...where we are in life. Its all ok, but its NOT! Gosh there has to be a standard! And who is going to RAISE UP that standard if the Godly don't??!! Its time for the Godly to once again, GET RADICAL...with their faith. To count the cost and say its worth it, cause Christ gave all for me and I'm going all out...FOR HIM! Don't make me puke, with some half way faith. Get on fire. or put it out! Well, we can't be all out there with our faith? Oh really?!! Why not? They might feel that they are in sin? Well they probably are! And it probably needs brought out! Well that's judging? NO! Its calling it for what it is! wow, we are afraid today, to say anything is sin, for fear we might "judge" someone. Well man, if its sin, its sin. And it needs changed. I mean, you can't stay where you are and feel like its good enough. Wow, the bible talks about a Holy church/people, w/out spot or wrinkle! But today, we just say, well none of us are perfect, and feel that that is good enough to make an excuse for ALL...of our shortcomings and just leave it all at that! Well I just think its getting closer to the return of the Lord and by all means, we ought to act like we believe that, by going all out for Him!! Its definitely in my opinion not...a day and age to be living half hear-ted for God. I mean, how do you know, when enough is enough. Or that what you are giving God is enough. I mean, remember your first love! Go back to how you were, like you were dating your wife/husband again!! That first fire! It wasn't lukewarm was it? You weren't afraid to show off who you loved were you? NO! And why should we be any LESS...so with our GOD!! blessings, and start the fires again!! But for Pete's sake, be one way or the other, NOT...lukewarm!!

But,Yes sir, "What's it going to cost me?" Which of us, doesn't ask this, be it buying clothes, a car, a home, or beginning a new program in life? What's it going to cost...me? Oh its true, there is a price, a cost, to everything. What are you, willing to pay? I feel that we all are guilty of longingly looking for, those "freebies" in life...Those things that seemingly have, "no cost"? But are there really any "freebies"...in...our lives? It seems to me, that everything...has it's cost. Again in Luke, Jesus said,

Doesn't sound like a "game" without its "costs", to me?

Now let me tell you, the advertisement may read, Take a pill and loose weight, or do this, and loose weight, but it'll never happen without some work added. Read the label. LOL Its true. Today, I finished my treadmill workout and thought, boy is this hard work. You betcha! It isn't going to come easy! Lifestyle changes, require cost and commitment. Those pounds aren't going to fall off your body, no matter what the ad brags! And ask my achy legs, how hard it is to stick with it?! You decide, look I'm not stayin this way, and after that, the cost kicks in! No matter what it is you're deciding to change. If its your physical body, there is a cost , eating right, sleeping right, plenty of water and rest. Etc... If its your Marriage/relationships, there is a cost! Love, faithfulness, dedication, all comes with a cost. I love the relationship status on facebook that reads, "Its complicated." I feel like saying, well duh, I never thought a relationship, let alone marriage to anyone would be stated as "easy". What ever it is, lets face it, it takes work. It "costs" you something. For most of those exchanges, the cost is well worth what is gained in return. Take for example physically and exercising and watching our weight. It costs, daily routines, daily food choices. You may have to "give up", certain things you liked, eating junk foods, not working out. But, the reward, you feel better and you look better, can be well worth the exchange of the pain to get there.
The same is true of marriage, well you give up your total freedom and independence, to seek first the wants and desires of another besides yourself. What do you gain? A constant companion, a friend, a confidant, a lover who will give for you when you give for them! Is it worth the cost, well sure it is! Ok, well now think of Spiritually. Is there a cost to being a Christian. Well there isn't a cost to "become" one. For Christ Jesus paid that cost on the cross for mankind's sin. There is no other cost to purchase our Salvation. However, and this is big. There is a cost to Discipleship. You see, Christ didn't call the disciples to become Christians in His Word. News flash. LOL He called them to MAKE OTHER disciples of people/mankind! A disciple is a disciplined....worker. Ahhh...there comes the cost feature again. What's it gonna cost me? Well...to be perfectly honest, YOUR LIFE! WHAT? you may ask. My life. Well, there will be things you give up, places you once went, things you once said, people maybe even, that you once hung tightly with. You may give up certain drinks or pleasures. Seeking after the soul and its cravings and desires. You will give, time, talent and treasure back to God. For the cost of your soul. Church attendance, is it mandatory? Well, The Bible does indeed say to, "Forsake it not" , the gathering of yourselves together, even more so getting closer to His return. (Of which I'm quite sure that we are that!) Holy living, Is it required to be saved, no? Is it something attained after? Well, it seems that your desires, become changed. You realize things perhaps differently than before. What you thought mattered, looks so dim to you now. In the light of Gods Glory and Grace toward you! You think, I can't believe I thought I needed that all!
But come on, there is indeed a Hell to shun and a Heaven to gain, so the choices are but two. So if I'm left w/ the cost verses the consequences, of life Eternal in Heaven or Hell, I'm quite sure I'm not choosing the flames. Is it WORTH...me giving my life up for? Well sure, are you kidding, did I mention, the weeping and gnashing of teeth? I mean, Ok, there are changes to be made. And they continue to be made daily. But the cost? Think of it, what is it really worth to gain this whole world here on earth? And then one day at the judgement seat of Christ to LOOSE...my Eternal Soul over that choice I made!?! Really? THAT...is not worth the cost to me! I choose Heaven. Yes indeedy there is cost. There is my daily walk with God, reading His Word, prayer....but come on, the benefits are endless besides....Heaven! I know, or am assured of His presence EVER...with me! I'm never alone. He gives me peace and joy, that nothing on earth can bring me to or satisfy like! A little disciple for all that?! You betcha! NOTHING...is free! That new car, yep has a little payment book to boot! That house, though its bigger than the last...has a cost! The choice to loose weight, or stay the same, yep, both sides, have a cost. Or the cost of Knowing Christ or NOT...knowing Him!! A HUGE...cost! What are YOU...willing to pay....is the better question...THINK ABOUT IT. Its true.

Some we walk right over top of, while others knock us over! Especially after the storm, Hurricane Sandy, I've been re directed to Give MORE thanks!! The simple things, became so wanted and important! A hot shower, cooked dinner, (not sammies, LOL) , running the sweeper and DOING LAUNDRY. Yep, even that, became missed and important, when piles, were piling...all over!! We were with out power for 5 days, but some were w/out for 10 and some are STILL...w/out!! The storm that hit the east coast w/ rain, and flooding and winds, hit us in WVA w/ SNOW of un believable amounts and how quickly it fell!! That combined w/ how heavy it was w/ the saturation of rain, caused downed trees, power lines and a real mess to dig out of!! It looked like a war zone! Our area, though not on the Headline News, quite as much as New Jersey and New York, was hit very severely!! Many commented that it was the worst they'd EVER...seen to hit like that!!
It amazes me however, how quickly after, that people go right back to complaining. We learned to survive w/ minimal amounts. No heat, in spite of cold temps., no water, no electric! But then, you'd hear it, people saying, that the electric companies, who had come from other states to help us, weren't working fast enough....One thing or another, but wow. I learned how life can be lived, on a string. We were burning candles for light, going to bed early, cause yeah, what else would ya do in the dark? LOL Keeping warm w/ Kerosene Heaters and or Propane Buddy Heat and lots of clothes and blankets! Eating Spam, and PB and Jelly and liking it. (Because when you're hungry, you like what ever you eat). Important lessons to learn, but ones we shouldn't so quickly walk away from!!
It was like when 9=11 struck our Nation. For a time...all be it, short lived, people looked inwardly, even looked toward GOD...for help. Its funny how that works when we're on our backs, its the direction we're facing is up!?? But how quickly that too faded away. Is our focus really that short as a people??!!
I don't want to be like that! I want to keep focused!! To be ever mindful that life can be simple and be good that way. (We get way to cluttered w/ what we think to be necessities, that aren't that, I Phones, I pads, face book, TV., phone, ) But when all those things are stripped and its quiet, do we talk to God then?? I know I did! I read the Bible under blankets by candle light in my living room!! With my shivering Yorkie on my lap. I prayed. Prayed for those still w/out power, for those who needed help. For the workers trying to get it to them. But I don't want to be a Crisis Christian. Or a person who only names the name of God when tragedies occur and make him a facebook status then, but not to know Him?? Lord, help me, help us...as a people to see that you desire the quiet times w/ us. The times in the dark, w/ nothing around but you and us!! When we can come, sit quietly and CHAT W THE CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE!! How neat!! People, He's real!! But he's not just the God....of tragedy, HE IS GOD ALL THE TIME! He was and is and ALWAYS WILL BE!! And, MOST OF ALL...HE"S COMING SOON!! I just have to believe that! Seeing all the things happening more and more around us! Are they calls to mankind, to wake up? Hmmm....Well, will we??? Or do we keep ignoring them and some day, someday SOON....He'll be here, like a thief in the night, to take his church away? Will we be ready...for that??
But with him," The book says, Our lives make sense." It helps the reader to make sense of the area of "calling", in our lives. It would definitely help the saved or unsaved. In this book, Jonathan Fallwell presents the idea of how less can provide for MORE...than enough happiness in our lives! How that finding our "purpose" in Christ, even thru trials and such, can lead us to our mission field each of us, ourselves! Jesus saw His Ministry, His mission in the short time he had, and he accomplished that mission in...that short time...thru his thousand days of ministry...we...thousands of years later....can find our mission and the motives to accomplish that in and thru our lives!! A great read, an encouraging read, a must read in todays day and age, where we, even in the church are taught, thru faith, to gain more, but find so much that thru out Christs ministry, that less....will lead us to the mission field we are all called to!!! Blessings and may it encourage you as it has me...to find our places in ministry!!

Camping and More!

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;

I believe, that The Voice helps people connect with Scripture,in a new and fresh way, thru an easier and non threatening understanding of it! The Voice helps them to encounter "the glory of the Lord" and to be transformed, by the renewing of their minds in...Gods Word, Rom 12.

By expressing the inspired text in the unique voices of the original biblical authors with all their own personality speaking forth, The Voice speaks forth of how scripture unfolded. Thomas Nelson publishers did this all, resulting in an amplification of the voice of God so it is more clearly heard and understood, by today's readers!

I highly recommend this version as an easy version to read and understand and even feel more encouraged to read Gods Word on a daily basis, from that flow. I think souls will be touched and lives changed, from this easier understanding. But even the veteran of Gods Word can benefit from its poetic flow!

You have to walk up the RR tracks approx a half mile, to get to the Waterfalls. Its a place in the middle of Bemis and Cheat mt that the railroad comes to both ways. It is only...accessible by rail, or by hiking. No motorized vehicles are allowed in that, "neck" of the country. Its wilderness for sure...nothing for miles around, but nature! Black bear, bobcats, deer, and real wild life! Many folks hike in and camp over night or the week or weekend, there at the falls. But we....hiked in and OUT in ONE day!! Not too shabby at 44 keeping up with 18!! Finally, we are planting. As of last Tuesday here in WV, it was still snowing in places. Yes, you heard me correct. It didn't stay long, but none the less, you have to wait for the frosts to leave, to plant. Hopefully, we're there! We rota tilled the garden, Monday night, and last night, we planted the tomato plants! 32 of them! yay! Soon, we'll add the garden onions, lettuce, cukes, peppers, and some cabbage, and taters! I love fresh produce!! Its something honey and I do together! We planted, then the Lord watered it all night long, and at times, quite hard! Now, Lord, please let them grow! Hubby and I both, are loosing weight very nicely this new year! I am getting ready, to take a hike in to the High Falls of Cheat, with Zach! It'll be the first long hike I've taken this new year of 2012! Getting ready is daily walking so that when I tackle the hike, my body don't feel wore out doing it! How often in Christianity, we wonder why we can't handle the things that come our way, simply because, we fail to "get ready", for what we face. You may ask, how, can we be ready, for things we have no idea, what is coming our way! But, you get ready, by staying fit. Physically fit, we understand. Eating right, exercising, no junk foods in, and trying to do our best. But, Spiritually fit, is the same way. Reading the Bible daily, praying daily, and keeping the Spirit man conditioned, so that you can better handle what comes your way! I'm trying my best, to do both! The Bible says, physical exercise profit eth nothing. I don't believe that God was saying NOT to take care of our temple/physical man. Instead, that, we can't be "lopsided" in caring....we have to take care of ourselves, spirit soul and body! Whole man. Now, that I've eaten my whole wheat cereal and banana, and read the Word, I'm off to treadmill my 4 miles! I'm getting ready you know, keeping myself fit to be a "workman" that needed not to be ashamed. I'm off, where are my nikes? LOL

renewd42's photostream

<div style="padding: 0;
Throughout the book, there are many lesser-known facts about Washington’s life based much of the book on original sources such as Washington’s own letters. He has seemingly viewed Washingtons life, in mostly in a positive light but didn't forget to offer of the mistakes he'd made in life as well!

Another point, that makes this book very interesting is the presence of a large number of pictures and illustrations depicting various events from Washington’s life and America’s history.

If you are a history buff or a biography lover, you will no doubt love this book, but if not, be prepared for a long read.
They glitter, they sparkle and they lure, but they are also poisoned. They leave you empty and feeling hurt and alone. It does not FILL you as only Christ can! Love God...Hate sin...it works, no other way. Oh but Lisa, I only do this or that, on weekends, or I just do this to unwind, or God understands, its not that...bad...all excuses for weights that slow us down. Run with endurance the race, and get rid of the things that so easily beset you. If God hates, it we should too. Don't play with it! Its not a game, its life, and could mean death...if you don't get real...with it all! Love God and HATE the world...it holds nothing for me! be blessed!

A picture...IS WORTH...???

The Bible says, "You shall know them, by...their fruits..." You can tell alot by fruit, what kind of a tree it came from, whether its good or bad? And all that, by just looking at the fruit. In our Christian walk, you can also inspect alot of details, just by our fruits, we bring forth. Are we bearing forth life, or death? Are we showing that, of good, or evil? Some folks say, as soon as you say, anything about lifestyles, that you are being, so called, "judgmental". But, there is a big difference, between judging someone and just calling an orange the orange that it is! (If ya know what I mean!) A Christian, the Bible also says, is a new Creature in Christ, old things are supposed to have passed away, and according to 2 Corinthians 5:17 ALL THINGS are become new! Our walk, talk, behaviors, friends....It may not happen all overnight, but the process is there, and in the making. The sad thing, is when it's not...in the making. When people succumb to just "being" who they always were, or are. They make excuses and think God will too, for their life long behaviors! (And that is so not true!) I can't get enough of Christ in my life, as a Christian. I don't want to be a poor example of Christ. I don't want to be a fake. I want to be...who I should be! I want to be real, not a lie. If I say, I'm a Christian, I don't want to live like one on a Sunday. Or just go around saying, I'll pray for you, and thinking that makes me a Christian. (If that were true, I'd be a car if I stayed in a garage overnight!!) I know many who think, that one repetition of the Sinners prayer, some years ago at an alter, has forever bought their pathway in to the pearly gates, but its just not so. There has to be a change, in an individuals life! The Bible plainly declares so! You can tell, what it is, by what it looks like...Is it an apple? Well, how do you know that? Because it looks like an apple...It tastes like...an apple...It is no different for knowing, what or who belongs to the Lord! Heaven help us all...to live real! To not be a bunch of fake fruits! To let our lights so shine, so that this lost and dying world....can see the DIFFERENCE IN OUR LIVES!! Not the same nes, For Heavens sake! You can tell alot, by just what it looks and talks like...What it really is!! I'm not saved, because I prayed some old dead prayer some years ago at an alter, and now live my life like I want to drinking, smoking, cussing and what ever I so called want to do. No! I'm saved, because My life is changed...am I perfect, NO! Adamantly no! But I'm on the path, I'm not making excuses to stay...I'm trying to change...more in to the image of Christ!! What kind of fruit...is your life showing?? Are you real?? All things are made new...in Christ!! Be blessed.
I really liked her relation of John the baptist, even though being beheaded for the cause of Christ, still devoting his life in entirety to Him! I think in thick and thin times, we all must come to a point of realizing, we'll serve the Lord, no matter what! Come what may, He is Lord! The promises in His Word, are our Shelter in the times of storm, and there will be those times!
We as she says, are people not OF this world, trusting that His better place for us, will far outweigh the sufferings of this life, that we at times do face. That as we go through, we can cling to those promises, knowing He who promised is faithful! Learning that really, its more a when, not an if, to our going through struggles. I gain comfort from knowing, my Lord is always with me. That His promises are yeah and amen!
Book sneeze provided me with a complimentary copy of this book, as a part of their blogger reviews program! I am thankful for that, as I really enjoyed this book and do recommend it as a strength to the Christian walk!
At times, we may not all agree, with the author, but, her accounts were indeed quite inspired and touching! All we can do in this life, is cling to the promises of God, as our Shelter...in the times of storm!!
