I am currently reading a book that I&#39;ll be reviewing later. &amp;nbsp;In the introduction, the author reminds us that truth, especially scriptural truth, does not just belong in classrooms and discussions. &amp;nbsp;It belongs in life. 

For truth to fulfill its purpose, it needs to be part of everyday life.

It seems like there are so many more
things to be praying for today.&amp;nbsp; Maybe it’s
just that communication has improved and hearing prayer requests isn’t limited
to a few minutes during the Sunday service.&amp;nbsp;




It would be an easy thing to pray all
day and not run out of people or situations to pray for.&amp;nbsp; Our cities, our countries, our world needs

Deliver Us from Evil&amp;nbsp;by Don Basham was an interesting book about a Christian man&#39;s journey from believing that the devil and demons did not exist and had never existed to recognizing the influence of them in our world. &amp;nbsp;The tag line of the book is &quot;A Pastor&#39;s Reluctant Encounters with the Powers of Darkness.&quot; &amp;nbsp;It is really an apt description.

Saturday night, I found myself across town with about 30 miles worth of gas in my car. &amp;nbsp;My husband had told me he would get gas in the morning, so I headed toward home. &amp;nbsp;I knew there was enough gas to get home and to the gas station in the morning, but I asked God to help us extend that gas a little farther by helping me not have to stop at any red lights.

I learned to drive while I was in college. &amp;nbsp;Yes, I realize that I was a little behind most people my age, but that&#39;s what happened.

I took my driving test about two weeks before the new school year began because I had decided to live off campus. &amp;nbsp;Obviously, driving was a necessity if I didn&#39;t want to live in the dorms anymore.

Our dorm floors had doors that opened directly to the outside. &amp;nbsp;Because of this we had to make sure the doors were properly closed when we went in and out, for safety reasons. &amp;nbsp;I could walk thirty feet from the door of my dorm room to get to the building where my first class was held.

I LOVED my time in college. &amp;nbsp;I knew it was expensive, and I knew that a job related to my major was not likely to come with a large paycheck. &amp;nbsp;I knew I was going to have a couple loans (which I finished paying off last month!).

I loved school, and I almost always loved my classes. &amp;nbsp;But one of my favorite days each year was Skip Day.

Skip Day was always near the end of the school year, when people were getting tired and ready for a break. &amp;nbsp;Canceling classes for the day often resulted in due dates and tests being pushed to the next class day. &amp;nbsp;Much rejoicing was heard!

This is a lesson I learned before I even started taking classes in college.

Every incoming student at OCC&amp;nbsp;takes the Bible Knowledge Entrance Exam a few days before classes start. &amp;nbsp;It has no bearing on the classes you are placed in, but when students graduate, they take the exact same test again to measure how much they learned throughout their years in Bible college.

Growing up, I was always reading. &amp;nbsp;I loved The Boxcar Children, The Babysitter&#39;s Club, and whatever I could find in the library.
