CELEBRATES FASHION’S NIGHT OUT

WITH METRIC, MODELS & CUPCAKES!

WHAT: Juicy Couture invites NYC to stay up late and shop! Once again, joining Vogue’s Fashion’s Night Out initiative Juicy Couture welcomes all New Yorkers to celebrate fashion and shopping at their Bleecker Street and Flagship Fifth Avenue stores.

At Bleecker Street, model Karlie Kloss will decorate cupcakes with editors from Teen Vogue, including editor-in-chief, Amy Astley from 6PM-8PM. Designer Erin Fetherston (whose collection for Juicy Couture debuts this holiday season) will also stop by the festivities to fashion a cupcake before heading out on the town!

After a sweet treat in the west village, head up to the Fifth Avenue Flagship where DJ Cory Kennedy will be spinning and indie rock band, Metric will perform live at 8:30PM. It wouldn’t be Juicy without a few surprises here and there, so stop by both locations for photo opportunities and fun!

A portion of the proceeds of sales of the Juicy Couture “Loves New York” tracksuit and t-shirt line will benefit Vogue’s official charity, The New York City AIDS Fund in The New York Community Trust.

Here are a few images from the Gucci 2011 Resort Collection. The Urban Safari themed collection is a super sexy assortment of pants, pants and mo’ pants…and a few dresses. Catering to the long and the lean, the majority of the items are NOT (I repeat NOT) for the thick thighed or the heavily cheeked. I can’t imagine trying to pull those pants over what my momma gave me…YIKES! OUCH! And NO!

Ehh…I don't hate it but I'm certainly not dying, gagging or loving anything in this collection. Except for the shoes…I detest those black sandals and pray to Fashion Forward Jesus that I never have to see them again in life. *sighs*

NEW YORK, May 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The Whitney Museum of American Art will host its annual Art Party to benefit its Independent Study Program (ISP) and other museum educational programs on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at a new location- 82 Mercer Street in New York City (between Broome and Spring Street). BCBGMAXAZRIA is partnering with the Whitney for the fourth consecutive year, with co-chairs Adam D. Weinberg, Alice Pratt Brown Director of the Whitney, Lubov & Max Azria, and Emilie de Ravin, along with Allison Aston, Sarah Brown, Joanne Leonhardt Cassullo, Adam Lippes, and the Whitney Contemporaries of the Whitney Museum of American Art.

Event co-chairs Max and Lubov Azria join the Whitney Museum of American Art to toast the future in American contemporary art: "We are thrilled to be co-chairing the Whitney Art Party for the fourth consecutive year," said Lubov Azria, Chief Creative Officer of BCBGMAXAZRIAGROUP. "Creativity is the force that drives us; partnering with the Whitney Contemporaries and their Independent Study Program is an amazing opportunity to support the artists of this generation, and foster creativity in the artists of generations to come."

To celebrate the legacy of the Whitney's Independent Study Program, and highlight the connection between art and fashion, BCBGMAXAZRIA and the Whitney have invited four past ISP artists, Ellen Harvey, Ryan Humphrey, Liz Magic Laser, and Jason Middlebrook to participate in a never-been-done-before collaborative project for the 2010 Art Party. Using a white silk dress prototype from the Fall 2010 BCBGMAXAZRIA Runway collection as a blank canvas, each artist will produce an original work of art, while maintaining the silhouette of the dress, to be displayed at select BCBGMAXAZRIA Manhattan locations including their flagship store located on 5th Avenue, and worn at the event on June 9th by a notable guest. Additionally, all four artists will participate in a live action-art performance at the party, translating their individual artist practices once again onto a pristine white dress for guests to watch and experience.

In order to make American Art accessible to audiences both in the U.S. and worldwide, the 2010 Whitney Art Party auction will feature online an online component in addition to in-person bidding for works generously donated by 80 of today's leading contemporary artists, including Diana Thater, Duncan Hannah, Fritz Haeg, Isaac Julien, James Casebere, James Welling, Lawrence Weiner, Marc Swanson, Mary Heilmann, Matthew Brannon, Nate Lowman, Pae White, Raymond Pettibon, Roland Flexner, Roni Horn, Storm Tharp, and Suzan Frecon.

Browns: 40 Years of Fashion Innovation

The exhibition takes a nostalgic walk down memory lane - through the eyes of Browns. So expect to see iconic pictures and original vintage archive pieces from designers such as Ralph Lauren, Missoni and Comme des Garcon - all of whom Joan Burstein was responsible for importing to Europe in the 70’s and 80’s – as well as later discoveries such as John Galliano, the late Alexander McQueen and Hussein Chalayan. Revered photographer Paolo Roversi has shot 40 specially commissioned photographs of ‘Browns Ambassadors’ dressed in specially selected looks. These include Marc Jacobs, Claudia Schiffer, Liberty Ross and Natalia Vodianova (dressed in a piece from Chalayan’s ‘Buried’ collection). These portraits will run alongside film footage of definitive catwalk shows spanning many seasons.

The curation of this exciting exhibition and set has been conceived by Simon Costin, the acclaimed set designer famed for Alexander McQueen’s notoriously theatrical fashion shows.

Brogues, oxfords and flats oh my! It seems that fabulistas have traded in their heels for the old school skipping shoes. I am super excited about this trend which is completely ironic considering my adolescent years were spent wearing “The Geeks Uniform”… complete with oxfords and knee socks. Hmm…I guess my mom really is a style maven because I freaking hated those shoes. LOL! Sorry Mom!

Although masculine, they have a 'touch of the lady' contrast. They are highly versatile and complement everything from dresses to cuffed denim...even knee socks!
