Each bullet is the lesson learned from a singular video (to save you time ^_^!)

First video 0:00:00 - Nancy Etcoff on the surprising science of happiness:
Lessons learned:
People want to be happier. but we become unhappy a lot easier.
Babies are born happy and enjoy "innate pleasures," and it's all lies after that.
Happiness is attractive.
Emotions are social and contagious.
Lust isn't happiness, although makes you feel good.
Materialism fucks with true happiness (poor people have better sex)

P.s. a Rolex commercial came on directly after the video and I

Second video 0:23:30 - Dean Ornish on the world's killer diet
Lessons learned:
They copy "us." Cow farts will kill us all!
1/2 of antibiotics in the U.S. are given to cows O.o (that's weird)
A Desire (fueled by advertising) and not a need fuels this health crisis!
DON'T EAT MEAT/JUNK FOOD, plants promote health and make you live longer!
10,000,000,000 (Yes billion) animals that we eat, are killed each year!
Food is just food if you make it yourself, don't over think it.
rethink what's healthy, organic is no longer organic.
Industrial food is killing us all. All that comes with local storage devices are undependable, expensive backup hard drives that just sit there and look ugly. This is why I employ you to look for a few new-er options, such as the following.

http://www.getgspace.com/
- This is one of my favorite options out there, mainly because it is available in Mac, Windows, and Linux; so no matter "where you go" with this little application, it'll be an option. One of the requirements is gmail, so be sure to make an account at http://gmail.com before you download this program. Unfortunately you only get 2 gigs worth with this option.

http://www.filedropper.com/
- This is another online resource for file storage. I really like filedropper because you can upload unlimited amounts of data, just as long as they are in 5gig chunks (which in most cases is far enough excess). The only downside of this option, is the lack of a standalone desktop application.

I'll update this soon once I find a good, free virtual drive service

Get "free" stuff from paypal.

until now I have mainly been white hat, and told you guys all about the better, lighter side of the internet. Now it's time to turn a corner.

First thing to do, make a fake paypal account, and send money from your real account to your fake one. The amount you send to your fake one doesn't matter, just make sure you ALWAYS use a proxy on your fake account. I recommend: proxydoll.com .

To buy anything on paypal for $0.01 follow these instructions: http://www.instructables.com/id/Paypal-hacking/

Me are legion, me are not forget, me do not forgive.

Check out my live webcam on yahoo's new free webcam service! I can't believe how long I've lived without using this service!

Basically, I spent a couple days looking into how to host my own webserver, and this is what I came up with.

What you need a static IP, if have linux it's harder to configure (by ALOT) if you aren't wired into the network. On windows, the only, or main requirement is a static IP.

In either system (windows or linux) you must have the domain pointed at your static ip, or else it won't work, it took me a day to grasp this concept before my dad helped me out :) .

For a linux webserver I suggest an ubuntu LAMP server, for windows, I suggest XP.

The website I was talking about helps by pointing your domain to your ip, for free, along with the following:

# Free DNS, Dynamic DNS, Static DNS services
# Free subdomain hosting, free domain hosting, free backup dns, reverse IPv6 DNS hosting (forward/reverse)
# Free URL redirection [web forwarding]
# Paid services available for increased account capacity
# Unlimited number of domains per account (yes really)
# 5 free shared hostnames, use anywhere
# 20 free subdomains per domain, use on your own domains only
# INSTANTLY point yourname.afraid.org or yourname.com to any IP or URL
# Supports every TLD on the Internet
# Currently 39,188 other domains besides afraid.org in our shared domain pool
# Funding is supplied by the members who go premium. Funding goes directly to servers and high bandwidth connections they reside on
# Robust support for CNAME, A, AAAA, MX, NS, TXT, LOC, RP, HINFO, SRV records
# Are you a web developer? You can use nameserver branding to name our nameservers as your own! Let us worry about the maintenance/redundancy
# Round robin DNS supported (Multiple IP addresses for 1 hostname)
# IPv6 forward AND reverse (both .int and .arpa) supported
# Dynamic DNS supported, several clients for Win32 and UNIX available
# Forward your hosts to any existing URL on the internet (even to a different port if your ISP blocks 80) with the Web Forward system
# URL cloaking redirection supported, optionally hide real URL of your site in the address bar
# Allows you to change web hosting providers without messy DNS propigation delays
# Simple, fast, flexible and reliable interface, feedback is welcome
# Works with any existing web host you may already be using for both DNS and hosting
# If your web host goes down, visitors will see a "timeout" error instead of a "site does not exist" error, e-mail will also remain queued for 5 days
# If you put a domain in afraid.org, you can edit TTL, Minimum, Allow/Deny AXFR's, and approve/disapprove others from using hosts on your domain. You can also share your domain with the users of afraid.org, or your own web site visitors using our 'webclude' feature
# Support for vanity dns hosts (example: i.knew.you.were.afraid.org) currently 39,188 domains in the shared pool
# Fast and easy setup process. Setup an account in less then 5 minutes
# Extremely reliable, fast, and redundant hosting, and interface
# All updates go live instantaneously.

URL: http://freedns.afraid.org/

With your viewing support, I've decided...

...to make a handy dandy, easy-to-type-in, portal to this site! For anyone who doesn't have the money for photoshop, there are two options,

1. Get photoshop the... cough... illegal way: http://thepiratebay.org/tor/3937893/Adobe_Photoshop_CS3_Extended_Version_Full___Crack

or

2. I personally prefer getting gimp, it's free, legal, and very much like photoshop. Download Gimp here: http://www.gimp.org/downloads/

For videos editing, there is hands down, only one good option, Virtualdubb.
Virtualdubb is really good out-of-the-box, and have very good extras that are easy to download. Download Virtualdubb here: www.virtualdub.org/download.html

Son, it's time I tell you about protection... NOT THAT TYPE!

I'm sure all of you have heard about at least one story about some idiot who had his identity stolen and now is a bum. Whether it was just some fark story, or your neighbor, they all made a mistake of not viewing my blog!

Disposable email account

Mintemail - Instant disposable email for any ‘fishy’ registration form or sign-up. Go to mintemail.com and a random email address will be automatically generated and copied to your clipboard. You can either bookmark the location of created inbox and use it on a regular basis or always use a new one.

Highlights include: Automatic eMail verification, email forwarding, option to set custom expiry times (from 1 hour to 1 month) and more.

Disposable phone number

Numbr - This is a really good one. Basically, Numbr gives you an anonymous disposable phone number that can be set to forward all incoming calls to any provided landline or mobile number (US only). Absolutely free. It’s an ideal solution for times when you want to keep your phone private but want to list your contact number in places like classifieds listings, social networking sites, blogs ,etc.
Disposable Phone Number

Along with the number, you also get access to dozens of cool functionalities, i.e. forward to voicemail, ability to activate/deactivate nr. at any time, etc. Read more: Numbr - Disposable Phone Number.

Disposable login details

BugMeNot - Here you can get disposable login details (username/password) for a huge number of popular news/review/download websites that normally require users to register.
BugMeNot - Disposable Login Details

For example, let’s say you clicked on a link that points to an article on a popular media website (eg. NYT). Usually instead of landing straight on the article page you’re asked to signin or register. Maybe there is a good reason behind it, but what’s the point of signing up if that is your first and only visit to that website. When it comes to BugMeNot, it instantly gets you a number of “public” login details that can be used to access the website. It’s fast, it’s convenient and you don’t have to worry about getting spammed.

Disposable name and address generator

FakeNameGenerator - Fun tool for quickly generating fake but totally sound names and contact address. Cool part about it, not only you get to choose country of residence but can also specify what kind of name you’re looking for, i.e. Chinese, American, Indian, etc.
Fake Name Generator

Disposable file sharing

File.io - Anonymous file sharing service where you can upload and share file/s (via password-protected URL) for 30 days. I am positively stunned by the simplicity, grace, and elegance of this idea/concept. By free I mean paid for in tears, sweat, and blood.

A few weeks ago I posted a guide on how to install ubuntu, and if any of you have done that, or already have done that. If you have kept with linux for the few weeks and like it, and are ready for a new type of experience, it's time for your own linux web hosting (step by step!)

Download and burn the Ubuntu Server 6.10 i386 install CD.

Install Ubuntu Server

When asked about Software Installation, choose LAMP.

When the installation is finished, take out the CD (I flip it over and leave it in the drive for the next time I need it) and reboot.

Logon as the regular user that you created during setup.

Give root a password.

sudo passwd root

We're going to modify the file sources list to allow us access to all the required files. Uncomment the edgy universe, edgy-security main restricted, edgy-security universe, edgy multiverse, edgy-backports main restricted universe multiverse, and edgy-commercial main. In addition, Ubuntu leaves the install CD as one of the file sources after installation, so you'll need to remove the CD from the source list. Comment out the CD from the list and save.
sudo nano -w /etc/apt/sources.list

Update apt-get to use the new sources.

sudo apt-get update

Install OpenSSH server

sudo apt-get install openssh-server

Turn off the computer.

sudo shutdown -h now

Disconnect the monitor, keyboard, and set the computer wherever it's going to lurk for the next couple years.

Turn on the computer and wait about a minute for it to boot.

Using your preferred SSH client, connect to the machine. I prefer PuTTY for Windows.

Install Samba and SWAT.

sudo apt-get install samba smbfs swat xinetd

Create a Samba user.

sudo smbpasswd -a username

Add SWAT to the xinet configuration and save.
sudo nano -w /etc/xinetd.d/swat

# description: SAMBA SWAT
service swat
{
disable = no
socket_type = stream
protocol = tcp
#should use a more limited user here
user = root
wait = no
server = /usr/sbin/swat
}

Reload Xinetd with the new configuration.

sudo dpkg-reconfigure xinetd

Verify that SWAT is up and running. If you don't get any response, start Googling.

sudo netstat -tap | grep swat

Make the shared directory for TorrentFlux.

sudo mkdir /share
sudo mkdir /share/incoming
sudo chmod 777 /share/incoming/

Create the Samba share. Using a web browser, go to http://hostname:901/shares

path /share/incoming

valid users - username

read only - no

Commit Changes

Install phpMyAdmin

sudo apt-get install phpmyadmin

Connect to phpMyadmin using a web browser - http://hostname/phpmyadmin

Secure MySQL / phpMyAdmin

login: root (no pass)

Privileges

Add a password to both root accounts

Create a database for TorrentFlux

Databases - Create New - torrentflux

Install TorrentFlux

sudo apt-get install torrentflux

Ignore the libphp-adodb message.

Configure database for torrentflux with dbconfig-common? - yes

Password - blank (generates random)

Restart Apache? - Yes

Configure TorrentFlux using a web browser - http://hostname/torrentflux/

Username / Password - root / root

Configuration

Path - /share/incoming/

Save

Click My Profile

Update your password

Create a user account

Admin - New User

Remove the Apache default documents from web root.

sudo rm -Rf /var/www/apache2-default/

Create a basic web launchpad for easy access your services.

sudo nano -w /var/www/index.php

/torrentflux">Torrent Flux

/phpmyadmin">phpMyAdmin

:901/">SWAT

Source- http://jonpeck.blogspot.com/2006/11/how-to-configure-80-fileserver-in-45.html
