Leave it to Congress at Washington, DC. They began a "Do Not Call" legislation law but they choose to call on their own, even to a cell phone number which is registered to NOT call, for some political poll with a gift; a chance to win a trip to some "global warming" destination.

Far be it for me to say, but there are some backward politicians motivated by irresponsibility who need to be in prison living next to Bernard Madoff.

There must be Obamanism hitting us worse than e-coli.

A "heads up" from Dr. Tony Evans

Scripture Readings: 2 Chronicles 6:34-42

When God's people are disobedient, we suffer His wrath because we have rejected His way. God desires a restored relationship with His people, but we, as believers, still have a responsibility in our own revival. That responsibility, outlined in 2 Chronicles 7:14, calls for specific action:"If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray . . . " With these words, God reveals that revival is primarily focused on His people.

When believers come to God on His terms with humble hearts, we give God permission to take action. When we open the door for revival through prayer, God works on our sins and addresses how they affect our lives.

". . . and seek my face . . . " Seeking His face means seeking His presence, submitting to His authority, and approaching God on His terms.

". . . and turn from their wicked ways . . . " With these words, God is calling for spiritual and physical action as prerequisites to His intervention. We must rid ourselves of excuses and crutches, which are often disguised as addictions and issues.

Only when we seek God's will with humility, prayer and obedience will true revival occur.

As witnessed in good outcome, the new, legally admired uniform brings positive input in voter-educated decisions.

So let us all give thanks to David in a Godly spoken language and be surprisingly motivated by our voting results. And give a “no thanks” to all voter installed Congress Representatives making at least $175,000 while no longer actually represent the people involved in this economically challenged country.

Arborvitae Pests Noticed in Warm Winter

Thanks to The Little Green Apple at www.thelittlegreenapple.com, we've noticed common arborvitae issues in aphids. Ugh!

They say...

"Well, if this isn't a drought issue there could be a number of things going on. Arborvitae's, like all evergreens, will loose some of their foliage just naturally every year, usually in the fall. If you see this happening on the inside near the trunk, don’t worry.
If this is occurring with brown spots or you notice the foliage turns yellow first and then brown, you probably have aphids. Aphids are tiny little bugs with pear shaped-bodies a little smaller than a pencil tip."

Why Believe?

Someone's missing from your nativity set. Among the shepherds, sages, and sheep, perhaps there should be a little figurine of yourself. The story of Jesus isn't just about Mary, Joseph, and the others. It concerns us just as if we had stood there, knelt by the manger, and marveled at the newborn child.

We worship at His manger because He knew us in our sins and yet He loved us enough to put aside His deity to become a man and offer us a life that makes sense. Through His teachings, Jesus showed us the only workable strategy for living a fulfilling life. We believe in Him because through His atoning sacrificial death, He can forgive us of every sin--past, present, and future--and impart eternal life. He lived a perfect life, then offered Himself as our substitute on the Cross. He paid the price for every sin, and those who trust and follow Him become heirs of heaven.

Today is the best day in the world to trust Him as your Savior. Now is the time of salvation. Stand by His manger, gaze at His cross, and open the door of your heart to Him today. For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13).

Is It Time to Fast?

Remember the story of the young man the disciples could not heal? Jesus told them.
Matthew 17: 21 However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”

This isn’t something that you do because Tuesday is the fasting day, this is something you do when you are in a crisis situation and you need a huge spiritual breakthrough, although it is a great idea to do it on a regular basis.
Jesus said this mountain can only be moved, this tragedy can only be reversed, this circumstance can only be overcome by prayer and fasting.

We hear a lot about prayer but rarely do we hear anything about fasting. This could possibly change the course of your life.
Jesus said that in His absence, fasting was to be a priority.

Matthew 9:15 for example, And Jesus said to them, “Can the friends of the bridegroom mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.
That is, in Jesus’ absence fasting would be a way to make that connection with Him. Since you can’t go to Jesus right now and sit down with Him and have a verbal conversation face to face, God says there’s a special way you can make a spiritual link with Him when you need to, and He says “and they will fast.”

Fasting is a way to get through the gateway to God in the crises of life.
1.) In the bible, fasting occurred during the burdens of life that demanded a spiritual breakthrough; emotional burdens, relational burdens, circumstantial burdens, physical burdens, ministerial burdens, directional burdens or what have you.

Fasting is the deliberate abstinence of physical gratification to achieve a spiritual goal. It’s a denial of the flesh to gain a response from the Spirit.
It’s renouncing the natural to invoke the supernatural. It’s saying “no” to yourself in order to hear a “yes” from God.

Ohio's Gov. John Kasich is Getting Things Done

Governor John Kasich announced on Wednesday that Republic Steel is investing $85 million in a new electric arc furnace at its steelworks in Lorain.

Gov. John Kasich...a true Patriot.

Company officials said the project would eventually create 449 new jobs, and help retain 489 positions at the facility.

The announcement comes three years after 700 people lost their jobs in Lorain, when Republic's steel making operations were shut down.

Republic Steel C-E-O Jaime Vigil said the new investment is in response to increased demand for raw steel made in America.

"125 years of experience of making high quality steel, our people here have that in their blood", said Vigil, "and that's what we think is very valuable for us."

Governor Kasich said the state provided tax incentives for the project because, "the workforce he had would be supplemented by people equally hungry to work so it was work force, incentives, cooperation."

It's estimated the project will generate one billion dollars a year in economic activity in Ohio.

Pumpkin Pasta

Cook pasta in a pot of boiling salted water according to package directions; drain pasta, reserving ¹⁄2 cup pasta water.

Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Cook until light brown and nutty smelling, 2–3 minutes. Stir in shallots and garlic and cook until translucent, 1–2 minutes. Add pepper flakes and 1 Tbsp. sage; cook 30 seconds.

Add pumpkin purée, stirring to incorporate. Whisk in broth and season with salt and black pepper.

Toss pasta with remaining 2 Tbsp. sage, 2 oz. goat cheese, ¹⁄4 cup hazelnuts, and parsley, adding reserved pasta water as needed to loosen sauce. Garnish pasta with more goat cheese and hazelnuts.

Believe it or not, there's some good news about marriage. A recent poll commissioned by the Alliance Defense Fund shows that Americans still believe in traditional marriage. Sixty-two percent of respondents agreed with the statement: "I believe marriage should be defined only as a union between one man and one woman." Only about a third disagreed. 1

But it's not enough to simply agree with the values of traditional marriage. We've got to practice what we preach. We must think of marriage as a ministry, as a lifelong act of service. We're not married in order to be happy but to make the other person happy--to serve rather than to be served.

Ask yourself: "How can I serve my husband today? How can I affirm my wife? What little act or attitude could make the difference?" The desire to serve ourselves has overtaken God's plan to serve one another through a committed marriage. Let's enrich traditional marriages with the traditional values of the Cross.

CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson has been doggedly covering the ATF and DOJ scandal surrounding the gunwalking “Fast and Furious” case. And now she’s coming out with some juicy details about her attempts to get information from the DOJ and the White House regarding the case.

On Laura Ingraham’s radio show Tuesday, Attkisson said she was “screamed” and “cussed” at by the White House while trying to get information last Friday, and that a DOJ spokesperson “yelled” at her while she was trying to get clarification on the case. And she named names.
