What is music PR? Public relations (PR) is the practice of managing the spread of information between an individual or an organization (such as a business, government agency, or a nonprofit organization) and the public.

That is the technical definition in the music biz we call it creating a Buzz!!

In order for the masses to know who you are you must create a buzz.

Back in the day an artist signed to a Major label would get the PR treatment

from the advance that was given. They would build you from the ground up

A no name could become a household name within months of a campaign.

These type of deals do not exist anymore not even for major label artists with 360 deals.

This article is for DIY artists (Do it yourself) so I won't go into 360 deals that is for Major

label artists my next Blog!

How to create a Buzz (PR). There are many ways to do that depending on what you're

Dropping an LP,EP,or single. The latter seems to be the one that is prevalent in today's market.

First off your campaign must start months in advance I equate that to a politician

campaigning for re election. Must start early and long. Creating a buzz is a word that I read

during my period of buying and reading all music related books and going to conferences.

I would usually ask my local DJ's and Producers to give me feedback on my tracks

before any release/airplay do not ask family and friends they are biased!

Getting unbiased feedback is crucial to knowing what works

and what doesn't work. Without this it is a shot in the dark a gamble

you will lose. Gathering an email list is important to building a fanbase.

You can do this on your own or hire a PR Firm to do it for you.

As a DIY artist PR Firms can be expensive depending on your budget.

they have different packages to suit your budget.

PR firms are Highly recommended but you can do it yourself.

Here is a DIY PR Blog:http://blog.reverbnation.com/2017/03/07/diy-music-pr-5-must-have-tools/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+reverbnation+%28ReverbNation+Blog%29

In closing the greatest song will never be heard unless you create a buzz

From the industry and a fan base posting on social media like facebook

only work if you use the promotional campaign ads!!

Here is my latest Album release "Story" hope it fills your heart with joy!!

Paul Baileys Album Review HOT, HOT, HOT !!!

2017-01-20T18:03:00.002+00:00

We are giving this album the full ***** 5 stars it truly deserves.

Mr Bailey takes you on a musical journey, which is totally unexpected
From start to finish.
Kiss my Bottay - is very cleverly written, this up tempo catchy tune will have you singing the lyrics within the first few seconds on the song.

Paul then quickly takes you on a ride to Underrated, in keeping you with the great lyrics and hot production that has you bopping your head constantly throughout the whole track.

Then comes ‘find me somebody’ (Sava Boric Mix) with it’s sweet lyrics and great vocals by Paul, (especially when singing the high notes on find me another love!!!) makes this track equally as hot as the last track. Great mix by Sava Boric to.

Paul then escorts you right back into the funky groove with Mystery ( again we have to show love to Sava Boric ) we are loving this track, it’s one of those songs that you can groove to or chill out to. We had this one on repeat here at Harsh.TV a few times!!!

The System Funky Euro Mix we have to big up Paul not only on his vocals , but his production skills to wow, wow, wow this song transports you into to a meeting of the minds of questioning your own way of living within the system!! We are feeling this track so much.

Story - gives you a little something to think about most definitely , the production is as on point as ever.
Free - is one wonderful person's journey of being in this world and how they came to be here and what they and their family went through.

A Very powerful and Empowering song, with the facts of life taking you inside the heart and soul of Paul Bailey and his expression of feeling. Thank you so much for sharing with us Paul.

Melody - It was hard for us to choose a favourite track, but the production of this track and soft vocals kept pulling us back in we absolutely love this one Paul!!!

Daydreaming - we were sad that this was the last track on the album we just wanted more. This song transported us to another dimension we really love the production and vocals.

We have this album on repeat and would highly recommend it. The production, vocals and Lyrics makes this album definitely one for any music lover's collection.

Thank you Paul for letting us in on your musical journey.
With much gratitude

Be Inspired ! Read this great Journey by Paul Bailey

2016-07-13T15:25:00.001+01:00

Midem is a conference I have been hearing about for yrs.

But ignorant to how long it as been around. It reached a 50 yr mile stone.

Yes 50 yrs longer than most people been alive. I was told yrs ago

about this Midem conference and why I should go and forget the American market.

Pursue the international market I was told much better for you! After looking

into it and realizing it wasn't cheap I put it off.

Fast forward to 2015 I met a music Administrator on line he decide he wanted

to represent my catalog of tunes for the world so I signed a deal with him.

Superb songs out of the UK. He also mentioned to me that he as been going to Midem

for 20 yrs and that I should go no one knows me was his words and they should get to know you.

Meaning the Industry people. I took him to task he would be going to Midem for the 50th

ANNIVERSARY.

I knew i had to be there so with the help of arts Government I applied for a grant

that would be a reimbursement up to 50% of my total cost to go.

With everything in motion I registered at Midem set up my appointments

with the online data base. In addition won the rights to attend the global sync summit

invites only. Things were looking great! I got my airplane ticket and I was off June

36 Midem Cannes France.

Everything was fast while at Cannes but great not much sleep had to take

in everything as much as possible incl the night life scene. Cannes is BEAUTIFUL

RIGHT DOWN by the waterfront. We had a team dinner great to meet all those

people enough networking going on!! In one of my appointments I met a company

that does vinyls for those who want to put there music on vinyl. The are

called Diggers factory. They describe to me how the process works so I decide to give it a go.

I would say that Midem was a great experience I would advise those who are thinking

about it stop thinking and go the best investment is the one you make on yourself!!

With that said I need your help here is the deal I have from Diggers Factory.

Thank you and god Bless!!

I want to release my LP on vinyl and I need your help! Thanks to Diggers Factory, we need to

have 200 preorders to launch the production and we have 50 days to achieve this goal! At the

end, if we don't have enough preorders, people who already preordered the record will be

reimbursed without charges. So there is no risk for you! It's a new collaborative way to help

musicians and create vinyl records together. With your participation, we can do it! My songs have

already been release on Cd but I wanted to put them on my favorite Platform Vinyl.
