Rice Fields

When we traveled by land going to Manila, there were plenty of rice fields along the way. However, most of them were not yet tall, so we couldn't see greenery rice fields. Some of the rice fields were not yet plowed, and some farmers were just started planting the rice. Hubby enjoyed our trip because he knows now how the rice planted, and he was amazed with our farmers.

Banana's Heart

One early morning, while I was picking up some leafy vegetables at my father's little garden, my father had told me to look up the banana that he planted in our yard. I was so happy to see the banana heart. It is still very young, but the heart is so big. I wish it will give pretty big bananas just like the other bananas in the neighborhood.

These lakes are connected to the place where the biggest crocodile named Lolong captured by the people using a trap. When we passed this way, I wanted to drop off from the bus, so I can see the 21 foot (6.4 meter) saltwater crocodile, but it was almost late in the afternoon, and was raining too a little at that time.

Anyway, for those who would like to visit Lolong, the giant crocodile, he's at the remote village of Consuelo, Bunawan, Agusan del Sur, Philippines. You won't get lost when you get there because there is a big billboard of Lolong.

This is the active Mt. Mayon volcano in Albay, Bicol Philippines. It has the perfect shape of a cone, but this beautiful volcano took lives of many people living nearby. You can read history here.

This was our plane when we got back here in the Philippines last December. If you could notice the dates of the two photos, obviously, we celebrated our Christmas Eve in the sky. We left Sweden on the 23rd in December. Our flight was delayed for an hour, so we couldn't catch on to the next plane from Heartrow, London to Hongkong. We stayed for one night at one of the hotels in London because the next flight schedule from London to Hongkong is on December 24, 2011. That's the reason why we celebrated our Christmas Eve in the sky. Well, that was our very unforgettable, and memorable experience in our lives.

The small river in Västerås, Sweden

This is the small river in Västerås, Sweden. The first time I saw this river, I was wondering why the water has rusted or brown color. It was winter time when I first saw this river. I asked the BF why the water looks brown, and he doesn't know either. We always passed this way, and I have never seen this water clear. I sometimes thought that maybe it was the reflection of the house paint on the side.

I saw this human statue or sculpture somewhere in Makati, Manila. I forgot if it is a woman or man, but I guess it is a woman because of the hair. If I could remember it correctly, this was in front of a bank or an insurance company. I just don't know who is this woman and what's the purpose or perception of the owner about this statue.

Traveling by Land

These were taken at one of the ports that we stopped when we traveled by land from Manila to Davao. It was a great and tiring experience to travel 36 hours by land. It was actually my first time to travel by land from Manila to Davao. I have been planning to this a long time ago because I want to see the most well-known volcano in Albay, Bicol. This perfect cone shape volcano is the best attraction for travelers. That is why when the BF asked if we can travel from Manila to Davao by land, I never had a second thought, and I say yes.

This ship transported us to another island. Our bus was parked at the bottom of this ship. It took only an hour from this island to another.

When we got home from Manila, I saw this yellow gumamela in our yard. It was my younger brother who asked a small branch on it from the neighborhood because he also likes this flower. Well, fortunately, the neighbor is not greedy, selfish, etc. and she allowed my brother to cut a little branch on it, so we can also have this beautiful yellow gumamela in our yard.

I went to the mall with my youngest son this afternoon just to check the schedule for the movie that my son wanted to watch on Sunday. Every Christmas, we have a local film festival here in our place and as much as possible; we will watch one or two movies entries every festival. As we were checking the schedule, my son smells the sweet popcorn. He told me to continue checking the schedule because he wants to buy popcorn. So, he ran to the popcorn maker, and he only bought the small size because he knows that I don't like sweet popcorn.

When we watch a movie at home, I usually make popcorn for them to enjoy while watching a movie. I used my microwave popcorn popper, but it is small. The Bicycles Parking Space

This is the bicycle's parking area of the school. Sometimes, I saw their bikes lying on the ground. I thought they parked it that way. But one time, I saw one bike fell to the ground because of the wind. Anyway, have you noticed the one bike or bicycle that has an extra chair at the back seat of the driver? Obviously, that was for kid's set. I like the way they put the little chair for their kids. The kid is safe because it has a seatbelt and there is also a small bar for the feet to step on.

At The School Today

This is what we called "Trisikad" or "padyak" in the Philippines. This is usually run inside the villages because this kind of transportation is not allowed to run in the national road where vehicles are running. Anyway, this is only a toy. I guess I bought it at SM Mall, Davao.

By the way, I went to the kid's school this afternoon, and I was glad that I saw Janjan's friend. I called him and since I always brought my camera, I asked somebody at the school to take us photos. I asked him if his big sister and little brother were also at school, and he said, only the big sister was in the school. Well, anyway, tomorrow I will go back there, and I hope the small brother is as well.

Hate Bad Drivers? Report Them Using These Apps

Everyone gets into a rage over bad drivers at some point. Whether it is because they drive way under the speed limit, swerve or almost get you killed while talking or texting on their cell phone there is not much you can do unless they actually hit you. Instead of popping more blood vessels by raging out at your passengers, get phone apps that let you vent off all that steam and report them. It may not be the same as seeing them pulled over and issued a ticket, but it feels great to publicly denounce them nonetheless.

Drivemecrazy
This free app lets you give digital tickets to terrible drivers out there. Complaints range from running red lights to driving while texting. The hope is that people will eventually be better drivers to avoid getting insulted for their poor driving on the internet. It gives the offended party a chance to call someone out.

Fail Driver
This app works the same way as Drivemecrazy and has seen the same influx of complaints. There is the occasional rant with safe drivers getting in the way of people trying to speed through an area, but that is to be expected with a free app meant as an outlet for road rage. Between the both of these apps, 20,000 digital tickets have been recorded.

Putting the apps to work

If you have the time to grab your phone during a road rage encounter, then you can record the license number and other vehicle information on a voice recorder in the app. When you have the time to safely record your incident later on, you can create a digital ticket. This is the only way to notify a driver that they have been publicly called out for driving recklessly. What is even crazier about these apps is that they use GPS to record the exact location of the car at the time of the incident.

Do they make a difference?

Is it likely that people will drive more carefully just to avoid being called out by fellow citizens on the road? That would be nice because we would all see lower auto insurance prices with safer drivers on the road. In reality, however, someone who drives terribly enough to get these citations may sincerely lack the ability to drive well in the first place. The apps do at least provide a good outlet for outraged drivers looking for some kind of justice. Instead of stewing over the incident, drivers can move on, knowing they can use the app to report the bad driver later.
It is possible to look up how many times a license plate has been reported for bad driving on these apps. This can lead to bullying on the road, but it can also help drivers know who they are dealing with. Someone who has been reported for going nuts and road raging on drivers who go the speed limit is certainly someone that you should be aware of if you are driving alongside on the road.

This is the pizza house at the neighborhood. It is just a few meters from home. The first time I went inside, I was surprised with their big platter of pizza. I saw an old man sitting in front of us, eating alone with his big plate of pizza, and I thought he couldn't finish the plate, but I was wrong. While watching Icy Hockey on the big flat TV screen, he never noticed that his plate was empty already. So, when our orders came, my eyes were as big as the full moon because my plate was also big. How could I eat it all? I only have the small intestines I guess. Ha ha. Anyway, the pizza was really good. I don't eat onions, but this time I couldn't put the onions away because it was perfectly mixed with the cheese, and it was really good. Probably, you were asking if I ate it all. No, I didn't eat it all. I took home half of the plate and ate it the next morning.

Pink Roses
