I am sure, by now, you have seen the limited edition 100th anniversary of the "Perfect Mason" jar by the Ball brothers. They are the most gorgeous shade of blue. So gorgeous in fact that after staring at the cases I recently got my hands ons I was inspired to create a wreath. The inspiration lead to one stunning, beautiful, and summery wreaths I have ever made!

One of my favorite items at my daughter's Horses and Hairbows party last month was the oversized menu board behind the food table. Everyone at the party commented on it and wanted to know how long it took me to letter a chalkboard with that much detail. Well here's the secret - I didn't hand draw a single letter and that's not even a real chalkboard!

I am back with another fun sewing tutorial using my great new Ann Kelle fabrics. Have you had a chance to make your sidewalk chalk apron yet? Hurry, hurry summer is coming!

Although I am calling this a camping pillow, I don't plan on going camping anytime soon. Insects and I are not now and never will be friends. However, this pillow is also great for road trips, sleepovers, and everyday fun. So don't feel you need to be planning a trip out to the woods to make this pillow!

Summertime and livin's easy...unless you have long, thick hair and live in the south, like me. Summertime if great but it basically means big hair that just gets pulled back in a pony tail within an hour of starting my day. Hair elastics have been my staple "bracelet" for years and now that I have 2 little girls with long hair, it's a hair elastic party on my wrist. Since we need them close at hand, let's at least make those hair elastics fun and pretty!

Enter the Jeweled Fold Over Elastic hair tie!

I don't know about where you live but here in North Carolina we experienced a longer than normal winter. The chilly, and very wet, weather kept up inside for far too long this spring, but now that it's starting to warm up it's hard to keep anyone inside, which is a great change of pace!

Just because we're outside doesn't mean that either of my kids want to give up drawing and coloring, though, they just take up a new art medium - sidewalk chalk. It's fun but it's messy and the chalk is always rolling down our sloped driveway. When Ann Kelle was generous enough to send me some of her new fabrics I took one look at the cute outdoorsy patterns and knew that we needed a sidewalk chalk apron!

I hope that all the mothers out there had a spectacular Mother's Day today. It really is the toughest yet most rewarding job in the world!!

I had started this printable on Friday but never got the chance to put it up because we had such a great family weekend filled with getting DIY projects done, local farm league baseball games, sleeping in, swinging at the park, a little shopping, and a whole lot of giggling.

You can right click on this and save it for next year, it's 4x6 so it would make the great front of a card or fits nicely in a frame!

A quick follow-up from this week's 20 Minute Tuesday | Painted Mason Jars. I took about 20 minutes today, maybe less, to paint yet another mason jar. This time the jar was to hold an orange and blue Gator ribbon topiary so I painted some fun orange and blue stripes on the jar using Martha Stewart craft paint that I already had in my stash.

Just tape off some stripes with washi or painter's tape, dab your paint on with a foam pouncer, and peel the tape off while the paint is still wet. I also painted a daisy jar topper that I had in my party stash to match, it's holding my topiary in place without having to use unsightly styrofoam.

It's been a little over a week since the big birthday party and I (and my house) am still recovering. I wanted to start a little series sharing the details from the party as well as some DIY tutorials along the way.

First up, the custom horseshoe shaped ribbon wreath I made just for the party!!

After a weekend with no crafting, I had the sudden urge to paint some Mason jars Monday morning. When I started I had no purpose other than to play with my new Martha Stewart Glass Paint that I had picked up last week. Once I got into it I decided that the jars were the perfect little containers for Teacher Appreciation Week, too!

My youngest daughter, Piper, turned THREE last weekend and to celebrate we decided to have a party at our house. Since visiting Hilton Head last fall and getting to ride on a pony named Cookie Piper has pretty much been obsessed with ponies. When it came time to plan her birthday party I knew just what to do - hire a pony to come to the house! My husband and I aren't really "vintage" or "shabby chic" type people, we prefer "southern" and "preppy" so I turned to my good friend at Marie Thomas Designs to help me bring my Southern Preppy Pony party to life!

I interrupt my regular fun and crafty posts to bring something kind of boring and mundane to you today. So, sorry in advance to those of you who aren't bloggers, website, or shop owners, but I'll be back to crafts soon!

You might be asking yourself why I would be helping anyone out with finances or accounting. For those of you who might not know, I am a financial analyst by day and paycheck and a crafter by night and heart. It is true, over 12 years ago now I graduated from the best university IN THE WORLD with a degree in Accounting. I spent a couple years doing the accounting thing and then hopped aboard the analyst train as soon as I could because, just between you and me, debits and credits are really, REALLY boring!

If you've spent any time on Pinterest you know that Teacher Appreciation week is coming up in a couple weeks (May 6 - 10, 2013). Some people go all out with 1 big gift but we are saving that for the end of the year and instead we are doing a couple little fun things through the week. These mini fobs are fun gift add-ons year round, great stocking stuffers, and would make awesome party favors, too!

A couple weekends ago while we were at the National Zoo in Washington, DC I was standing in line for lunch, for what felt like forever, behind a group of young girls visiting the capital with a school group. Every single girl in the group had on sunglasses adorned with rhinestones and Hello Kitty hair bows. The sunglasses were cute, probably bought at some tourist trap, and way over priced, so I didn't dare bring them to the attention of my daughters. Fast forward a week or so and I was sitting at my desk with a huge selection of Gemz and Bling on a Roll that Darice had sent me to play with, wondering what I was going to make, and suddenly it occurred to me - sunglasses!! No need for expensive, tourist trap shades here it’s so easy to add color and sparkle to my own sunnies with the adhesive-backed Gemz!

A couple weekends ago we took a family road trip to the Washington, DC area. My husband and I lived in the area before we were married and long before children but hadn't really been back since except in and out for work so we wanted to bring our kids to experience our favorite time of year in the capital, cherry blossom season. Well, due to the cold spring we missed the cherry blossoms by about a week but we still got to explore the city and best of all, we got to spend time with family that we hadn't had a chance to see in about 5 year.

Staying with my husband's cousin is always a treat as they are the most gracious and thoughtful hosts you'll ever have the pleasure of meeting. On Friday night I had inquired about a hair dryer and wouldn't you know - in a basket in the room we were staying in was not only a hair dryer but anything you might possibly have forgotten at home. Brilliant. So on my 7 hour drive home, which was just me and the kids since the hubs stayed in the DC area for work, I got to thinking on MY houseguest basket since my in-laws will be staying with us next weekend for the little mini-me's birthday.

It's 20 Minute Tuesday {on a Thursday} time again! It's time to start thinking of all the wonderful teachers in your life. Maybe for teacher appreciation week, year end gifts, or those every day teachers in our lives, moms and the upcoming Mother's Day.

I am not a school teacher, but I was raised by one, so I know that most teachers don't have time or budget dollars for salon manicures and pedicures. Also, I recently saw a meme on Pinterest that said, "I can't buy a new bottle of nail polish because I haven't finished my old one yet. Said NO WOMAN EVER." How true is that, right? You can never have too many shades of nail polish - which makes this a fun and easy gift that is sure to please most. (Also, these tags would be really cute with some ultra fun Martha Stewart file folders)

If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram you might know that a couple weekends ago I attended BlissDom. BlissDom is a conference mainly for bloggers, but mostly it exists for people who are out there trying to find a way to make a living by following their bliss. I have been blogging here on She's Kinda Crafty for almost 3 years with pretty much no direction or "vision" or long-term goals. I strive to bring you fun, cute, simple crafts that you create at home on a semi-regular basis and I make wreaths and other various items on the side. Going to BlissDom not only made me think about dreaming big but it also put me in chairs next to other women who love to dream big. And sitting in that chair next to me during a break or a session, or maybe it was a meal (I can't remember because the 3 days went by so fast) was none other than Aimee Broussard - you know, the Aproness. We've always loved to banter back and forth about our opposing football teams but sitting next to someone, face to face, you get the chance to have real conversations. The chance to find out that you share the same dreams!!

It's hardly a secret that chalkboard art is all the rage. They make great art for around the house, decorations for parties, and printables for holidays. With simple software and tutorials that you can find online and probably through pinterest you can even make your own. I like using Photoshop Elements to make mine.

However the trick to making great chalkboard art lies in the frames, banners, and fun fonts that you use. So with that in mind I am sharing with you my 4 favorite frame dingbat fonts. They are all free for personal use but please read each artists terms of use.
