Every girl should have a chance to be a princess. You might not have your own jewels and palace, but being treated like a princess is often simply a measure of acting like one. Granted, not everyone will recognize your seemingly royal status, but that never stopped the most powerful princesses you know from totally dominating play online.

Power Princesses
There are the princesses who are meek and mild. These girls let others pick their outfits and do whatever their evil (or not-so-evil) stepmother asks them to do. While this is not always a bad thing, being a doormat doesn't make a princess a particularly great role model for younger girls everywhere. Fortunately there are more than a few tough princesses out there who know how to take their power and run with it - not abuse it, mind you, but simply put their resources to work in the best possible ways.

Princess Peach
Long a favorite of gamers everywhere, Princess Peach went from being the meek girl in need of saving to battling the evil Goombas all by herself. Mario and Luigi can certainly step in to save the day at times, and Princess Peach has been known to revert back to a rather pathetic damsel in distress, but you can't always control the role you play in princess games. For the most part, however, Princess Peach knows how to hold her own in battle - all the while wearing a pretty peach dress.

The Disney Princess
Disney has yet to create a princess that couldn't hold her own - with the obvious exception of Snow White. Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Ariel, and Jasmine are all feisty young women ready to see the world on their own terms and explore what life offers them. When you take these princesses online, there is very little separating their online personalities from those you see in the movies. The need to explore and seek adventures is high and the desire to win is ever-present.

Computer word games are also a good way to teach children that words can be fun. While there's no guarantee that playing them will improve their English grades, it probably won't hurt! And while your kids are playing word games, you can be reassured that they aren't playing violent games that involve all sorts of simulated mayhem. One thing many people who haven't played them don't know is that they can be just as addictive as World of Warcraft and other popular role playing games!

Many word games that you can play online or download are similar to games that have been around for decades, if not centuries. For example, the basic "jumble" type game, where you have to rearrange the letters displayed to find the word has been a favorite in newspapers for many years. Games Can Activate Your Brain

Do you feel at times you are losing your mind. How is your memory? Do you walk in a room and wonder why you are there? Read on.

I love to play Solitaire on the computer. There are three games I love to play. Regular solitaire, Spider and Free Cell. These are free in the game section of your computer. These games keep your brain pumping. The more you use your brain, hopefully, you will not lose it.

Another game on the computer that really takes brain power is the puzzle express. This is timed and it comes at you fast and if you want to make points and go on to the next level you have to be fast.

I have never liked to play board games until recently. I played Rummikub with tiles. I sat down at this game and I thought it would be a no brainer. Was I surprised. If you want to win there are lots of twists into how the tiles are played. The idea of the game is to go out fast. I really had to rev up my brain in order to play this game. I even won a game. Beginners luck.

Under the solitaire games Spider solitaire is by far the hardest. I have only won a few of this game over the past couple of years. But I went home and applied the Rummikub technique to playing this game and I won 4 times in one day. Brain power.

I find it very scary to live in this world where there are various forms of dementia. I do not know about you but losing my mind and not being able to take care of myself scares me to death. I really believe playing board games, working cross word puzzles, computer games, card games, reading and talking with people will help keep your brain healthy.

If you think any of the above is a waste of time. Think again. Your brain is a terrible thing to waste.

The Best Games to Play on Your Laptop

Game 1: Heroes of Might and Magic
The first game we will take a look at is Heroes of Might and Magic. This game has been a great favorite of mine on both the desktop and the laptop. I think most laptops can play all versions of Heroes of Might and Magic without much problems.

The game itself is very addictive and I promise you will be playing "just one more turn" once you get into it. The best thing, of course, are the low system requirements so you don't need a super duper laptop to play it. And did I mention it is very addictive and comes with high replay value?

Game 2: Bard's Tale / Wasteland
The Bard's Tale and Wasteland are two traditional computer role-playing games which are also very suitable for laptops. They have immensely low system requirements, being almost 20 years old. But don't be deceived, these are solid games with solid content. You will be addicted to the storylines and in-depth character development. Before Diablo, there were RPGs such as these which gave me countless hours of fun on the PC.

Game 3: Civilization 3
Another great strategy game, Civilization 3 is the product of the great game maker, Sid Meier. The game is about empire building from the dawn of time until the present day, so you can imagine the multitude of weapons and technologies you are able to research and put into use during the game. Great game with high replay value and absolutely gorgeous graphics and cut-scenes.

Game 4: Lode Runner
A nice traditional arcade favorite, Lode Runner was a huge hit in the 80s. You can play it easily on your laptop and get lost for hours. You control a little man who can "zap" parts of the floor away to save himself from different challenges. The levels are so interesting that you need to try it to understand the level of thought and depth that went into their design.

Game 5: Jagged Alliance 2
The final game in this list is Jagged Alliance 2. This is a great "mercenary gunmen" game, which features a deeply involved tactical combat system. Think of M-16s, AK-47s, grenades and other weapons of destruction which you can buy and assign to your individual mercenaries. You get to deploy them on dangerous tactical squad level missions and I can tell you, this game is addictive in every sense of the word.

Conclusion
So as you can see, there are really many games that you can choose to play on your laptop. My advice is to go for low system requirements so that your laptop can play it even if it is a little slow or beyond the times. If you want to play state-of-the-art 3D games, then you should go for the latest wide screen laptops. In any case, here's wishing you a great laptop gaming experience, and happy gaming!
