Christmas Ornaments

I like to collect Christmas ornaments and this year was no exception. Here are some pictures of a few we purchased as well as a picture of Alison and Caroline kissing their younger brother Griffith in front of our Christmas tree.

We have so many tree ornaments that it would take me half the day to photograph them all. We like to look for ornaments throughout the year wherever we go.

August- A Memorable Month

The last week of August was anything but boring in my neighborhood. We experienced an earthquake, torrential rains, floods, 2 tornadoes and one hurricane. The aftermath of Hurrican Irene was littered all over my front, side and back lawns. Trees were down everywhere. Many of the trees were uprooted and thrown up against the side of the house. Very little damage was done to the house but our pool was completely destroyed. Family and friends volunteered to help clean up the debris with electric saws, hand held saws and a four wheeler to transport the larger trees to the back of the house where another team of volunteers cut up the wood.

We are so blessed that my family was safe. Hopefully I will not have to experience a week like that ever again. I am looking forward to replanting next spring. sigh.

I found two unfinished dolls stuffed in a box underneath my sewing table. They were from my Gigi doll pattern. I wanted to paint their bodies instead of making them a painted skirt.

Billy Boy

Meet Billy Boy. He is wrapped up warmly in his winter coat, scarf and hat. Years ago, one of my pre-k students Billy could not wait to go outside for recess in the snow. He would sneak his scarf, hat and mittens into his sleeping cot and put them on under his blanket. Needless to say he would not take a nap when it was snowing outside. He could not wait to play in the snow. As soon as their naptime was over, Billy Boy was the first one up and waiting in line while pulling on his big heavy coat.

CDA's First Quarter Challenges

All of the Cloth Doll Artistry studios have finished their first quarter challenges. Looking over all the finished pictures of each studio's challenges they are spectacular! We have some brilliant doll and media artists at CDA. I will be working on a video for our CDA YouTube channel by sharing all the pictuers of all the studio's challenges. Also we will be announcing the 2nd quarter challenges.....you are going to love 'em!

It been more than a couple of weeks since my last posting. I have been busy with CDA these past five weeks and now am getting back to normal....hooray! We have a challenge in all eight of our CDA studios. Have you decided which challenge you are going to take part in. All participates will have their dolls incorporated into our first quarter video. I am making a few things for a couple of the studios....I would love to create something in each one...but not enough time.
