Summary: A more humorous take on how Jinx would deal with KF’s flirtatious nature. Can be considered a prequel to Pet Names! Flinx all the way!!

I don't own Teen Titans and while I would have liked to have more development between Kid Flash and Jinx, I'm glad they're technically a canon couple and even got to kiss in the comics! 8D

Idiot...

Idiot!

Did this guy have no shame or common sense? Did he really believe that it was alright to flirt with anything that prances in a skirt, especially in front of her? Just what sort of up-bringing did this guy have to flirt so shamelessly with every girl he came upon?

It literally, royally pissed her off. Everyone knew not to take him seriously when he was like this, but she still couldn’t help but get angry. Not to mention, he’d sulk and get jealous himself whenever she so much as glanced at another guy. The first time that happened, he had hovered around her the rest of the night. Sure, it made her feel better since it proved he felt as strongly for her as she did for him, but then all those nice feelings would simply evaporate the moment he’d go and charm another girl. And getting him jealous got old so fast.

So what was an ex-villainess to do when her boyfriend was constantly off flirting with other girls?

“There is a reason why I’m considered the fastest boy alive,” Kid Flash preened, loving the attention showered on him by the girls who watched with rapt attention. “There’s no force in the world fast enough to stop me.”

“You’re so cool!” a fan squealed.

Jinx growled under her breath, rolling her eyes.

“Ooh, ooh, tell the story again where you single-handedly stopped the Pied Piper from taking over Central City!” another girl pleaded, batting her eyelashes at him.

“Anything for a beautiful girl such as yourself,” Kid Flash said, giving a wink that made the girl literally fall backwards in a swoon.

Oh that was it!

Kid Flash paused in the midst of his story when a shadow descended upon him. Glancing up from his seat, he saw Jinx standing over him with her arms crossed and an unhappy scowl on her face. Though he could feel his stomach drop at how pissed she looked, he still gave her a happy smile, hoping that it would dispel whatever it was making her angry. “Hey Jinxie, what’s u-mmph!”

She grabbed him by the sides of his face and pulled him up, nearly lifting him off from the chair he had been sitting on. Her lips were crushed against his and his eyes widened, an instinctive gasp from him letting her into his mouth. The eyes of his fans were wide and their jaws dropped as they saw their hero-idol turn into silly putty as one of the steamiest kisses they had ever witnessed in their life took place in front of them.

Jinx ran a hand through his hair, tugging at it lightly in the way that normally made him smile stupidly at her. There were brief moments of breaths taken and exhaled, but their mouths never truly separated, their joined tongues caressing each other witnessed in those small instances. She felt his hand reaching out for her waist when she finally pulled away, leaving him with a dazed look with his mouth still open. A heavy blush had taken over his face and Jinx relished the sight of how the blabbermouth was speechless for once.

She sported a naughty grin, leaning in close to whisper hotly in his ear. “Don’t play with fire, KF. I assure you, you will get burned... badly.”

Giving into temptation, she trailed her hand down his spine and gave his firm cute butt a sharp squeeze before dropping him back down on his seat. She sauntered away with a look of pure satisfaction, leaving behind a completely stunned and flustered Kid Flash surrounded by his fangirls who had all fainted by now with heavy nosebleeds.

Jinx knew she was in for a long morning when Raven appeared from the floor of her apartment with Starfire in tow, an angry scowl marring the sleep-deprived face as she dumped the red head on the couch with a irritated, “Fix her,” before promptly disappearing into the floor once more.

With a sigh, Jinx closed her book. “What’s going on?”

Starfire looked at Jinx hesitantly, fumbling with the edges of the Cosmo Magazine in her hands. “I do not wish to impose... but I do not know who else to turn too! Bumblebee is away on a mission and Raven did not seem pleased when I began to inquire for answers...”

“Okay, spill.”

“I do not have any beverages to offer in token,” Starfire replied in confusion and Jinx shook her head, having grown used to Starfire’s bewilderment over earthling jargon.

“No, I mean tell me what’s wrong.”

“Oh!” Starfire said quickly before carefully handing Jinx the magazine. “Last night, this magazine was sent to me by the mail and it was written on here saying that this can be considered a guide on helping girls attract the attention of the male of their choosing...”

“Star, I don’t think you need some magazine to teach you how to get Robin’s att-.”

“...in bed.” The princess mumbled shyly. Oh goodness, at least back on Tamaran, she understood on the necessities and social protocols to proceed to her goals. On earth, she had no idea where to start and got confused with even the smallest details. But when she tried to understand some of the guidelines given by the magazine, Raven started to turn purple! And Starfire knew for a fact that Raven did not undergo transformations as Tamaraneans did!

Jinx became silent, flabbergasted by the fact that Starfire wanted to use a magazine of all things to... uh... please Robin. And right now, there were a multitude of disturbing images going through Jinx’s mind without her permission. Without even withholding an ounce of her disgust, Jinx held the magazine between two fingers. “...riiight, so basically you were looking at this as a manual on how to have sex with earth boys?”

“Yes, will you teach me the ways?” emerald eyes looked at Jinx imploringly and while she would have rolled her eyes at the past over this, having been at the receiving end of Kid Flash’s baby-blue eyes had changed her some... for the worse, in her opinion. She needed a million hands to count the times she had given in when he gave her the puppy-dog look.

“Erm... I don’t know about teach, but let’s see what this magazine has to say.” Whilst Jinx considered herself somewhat as a fashionista, she was the type to go with how she pleased, instead of with the trends. And so, rarely did she look through magazines like this... and judging by the sex life advice column, it was a good thing she never did. Jinx’s eyes bugged out before she slapped the magazine shut. “Are you kidding me?!”

“R-Robin made such similar comments when I tried to-.”

“Are you saying that you actually tried stuff like this with him? And he allowed it?” Jinx choked out, torn between laughter and revulsion. Laughter won... barely. She doubled over, clutching onto her stomach. “Oh, that’s rich! I wish I’d seen that pretty boy’s face when you two were taking one of these advices!”

“Are they truly that strange?” Starfire asked, looking a little hurt. She could still remember Robin’s horrified face and the way he had run away to the bathroom, staying in there for quite some time before he was able to regain his composure. “I-I thought it would provide much stimulation a-and adventure...”

Jinx inhaled deeply, trying to calm herself. “No, no, don’t worry, it’s not your fault. But really, put a doughnut down there? Do WHAT with a fork? Do these people actually try their own advices before printing this stuff out?”

At that, Starfire couldn’t help but giggle. “I too found such advice to be unusual, but believed that it was some earthling tradition I did not understand.”

“There is no way something like this could be considered normal in any country or planet.” Jinx rolled her eyes, throwing the magazine to the side. “Look Star, the only good advice I can really give you is just be yourself and do what you normally do... as long as it’s not hurting him... in the wrong way at least, I’m sure you’re doing fine.”

“B-But what if I am odd? Or... weird?” the last word came out as an insecure murmur. “I do not wish to scare or disgust Robin. Tamaranean customs-.”

“-are something that’s a part of you.” Jinx said resolutely. “If you plan on spending the rest of your life with Robin, can you imagine hiding something that’s a part of yourself that entire time? Are you ashamed of who you are?”

“Never,” there was a tinge of green light in Starfire’s eyes. “I am a Tamaranean and I am proud of who I am.”

“Meaning you should also be proud of who you are in bed as well. Look, I get it, you care for Robin and how he feels about you, but you also have to be able to be comfortable around him. And this means being your truest self. Sure, maybe some stuff might be a little too out there, but that’s where talking comes in. You know, the process of opening your mouth and telling each other how you feel? If there’s really something that’s part of your culture and he’s not comfortable with, you two should just talk it over and find a middle ground or something.”

Starfire gave her a tentative smile. “You speak as though you have gone through such similar experiences.”

“Well,” Jinx fidgeted a little, her face lit pink. “...maybe I have.”

Now that was one topic she did not want the both of them venturing. Unfortunately, judging by the glint in Starfire’s eyes, she wasn’t going to let up.

“And the experiences you have, were they shared with a certain red haired man with super speed?” Starfire’s eyes twinkled mischievously. She was always on the receiving end of the teasing so it was most nice to be the one causing it. She could see why Beast Boy and Cyborg enjoyed teasing Robin so much.

“H-Huh?”

“It is no secret that you and Kid Flash get along quite well,” Starfire continued, trying to look innocent. She rarely got to have the girl talk since Raven wasn’t the type to engage in such things, even when it appeared as though she herself was getting involved with a certain green skinned Titan. “I believe you and he got together much earlier than Robin and I.”

“Yeah, by like a few months,” Jinx mumbled since around after she and Kid Flash had gotten together, the Titans had gone off to Tokyo and returned with Robin and Starfire being a couple.

“Please friend,” Starfire said eagerly, “share your precious memories with me?”

“Uh...”

“Perhaps some of your exploits instead? I may be able to gain some understanding-.”

“W-What?!”

“Or maybe some of the mishaps you and Kid Flash have experienced in be-.”

“Starfire!”

“Hey,” a soft voice called out and Jinx lifted her head from where she had pressing it against her knees. Robin, now Nightwing, walked over to where Jinx sat on the ledge of the T-Tower roof and took a seat beside her. “So... I heard the news.”

“La-di-freaking-da,” Jinx replied sourly, turning her attention back at the blueness of the waters that surrounded the Tower.

“I’m guessing you won’t appreciate it if I said congratulations?” he inquired, arching an eyebrow.

“I don’t know, were you planning on saying it?”

He smirked. “Not really. Actually, I’m more surprised that it’s come to this point. I didn’t think you and Kid Flash... well, now Flash would actually last together as a couple, much less married. And now you two are going to have a kid together.”

Jinx replied with an unintelligible sound, her head pressed against her knees once more.

“Uh-huh, because that made a lot of sense.”

“Shut up, bird brain, I’m not in the mood.”

“Unfortunately sweet-heart, I don’t care.”

“Jump off the roof, boy blunder.”

“Only if you come with me, sweet cheeks.”

“I’ll kill you for that, you little porcupine.”

“Sorry there Jinxie, but I’ve outgrown you a long time ago.” Nightwing replied cheekily. “Now fess up, what’s going on with you? You’re acting moodier than usual. The baby shower downstairs is for you, but Flash might as well be the one pregnant at this point.”

“Shaddup.”

“Jinx.” He said with a stern frown. “What’s wrong with you?”

The pink haired woman hesitated, staring out into the ocean with a heavy frown. “...I can’t be pregnant.”

“...excuse me?”

“You heard me,” Jinx said with a scowl. “I can’t be pregnant. There’s no way.”

“Uh, according to Wally, you checked like a million times. You’re pregnant. Accept it. Even Raven sensed that there’s another life growing inside-.”

“I can’t be pregnant!” Jinx snapped harshly, her grip around her knees tightly. “This just cannot be happening.”

Nightwing frowned. So this wasn’t just denial, but something deeper rooted. “What’s wrong Jinx? Why are you so bothered by this? I thought you’d be happy since-.”

She shook her head furiously. “No, he deserves better than that! It’s one thing with just Wally dealing with me, but he... I... Wally’s... Wally’s kid deserves better... the kid deserves a mother that isn’t me.”

“What makes you say that?”

“Please, you of all people know my past. I bet you even memorized my entire history verbatim, even the parts I told you about that aren’t documented.” Jinx rolled her as mockingly. She then sighed, leaning back against the wall held the door that led to the stairs back into the tower. One hand was pressed against her lower stomach, a faraway look in her eyes. “My powers are for hurting people... I don’t want the kid to end up growing up like me. I don’t want him or her... to feel the pains I felt growing up because of something they couldn’t control... I don’t want them to be put in danger because of what I am... I don’t want... them to get hurt because of the people that are always after me...”

At this, Jinx fell silent and returned to her huddled position, her knees against her forehead and her arms wrapped around her legs.

“You know,” Nightwing began softly. “I still hate you. You and I know how to get along when necessary, but that doesn’t mean we like each other or anything.”

“God forbid,” Jinx added in a snarky muffled voice.

“Still, that doesn’t mean I don’t respect you,” Nightwing leaned against the wall as well. “The fact that you have such feelings means you care for your kid a lot. You care for Wally a lot.”

“Caring isn’t enough.”

Nightwing gave a small nod. “True, but nothing is ever truly enough. We’re heroes Jinx, danger is always with us. Flash isn’t just going to give up being who he is because of that, even if he’s probably scared of the dangers he’s going to put the kid in. But he has you. You’re his partner. You’re not going through this alone... and... well... you have me and the other Titans. You know we wouldn’t just sit around and let you guys get hurt.”

“...with how corny you lot can be, believe me, I know.” Still, her shoulders sagged as she let out a shuddery sigh. “I don’t like this... I don’t like how vulnerable I’m becoming.”

“I thought you and Wally went over that a long time ago. Those feelings simply mean that you have people you care about and who care about you too.”

“Doesn’t mean the feelings haven’t gone away.” She replied dryly. The need to be strong, to be omnipresent so that she could never be hurt. To always be on guard so that an enemy couldn’t attack while she was weak. It was how she had grown, how she had survived.

“Think about it Jinx. It’s true that it’s scary and it’s scarier for you particularly because of what you had to grow up with, but you’re not alone in this.” Nightwing said, standing up from the ground. “And I’m sure the kid will grow up to be the second happiest kid in the world.”

At that, Jinx lifted her head with narrowed eyes. “Second happiest?”

“Of course, my kid is going to be the happiest in the world.” He said cockily before sharply ducking the pink hex that had been aimed for his head.

“In your dreams, you hippie,” she said in referenced to his hair. “You don’t even have the guts to propose to Starfire, let alone have a kid with her.”

“Things change every day, honey.” Nightwing said with a shrug, struggling to hide the flush of his face. “You never know what tomorrow brings.”

“And my kid will be the happiest most loved child in the world,” she added with a snap.

He grinned at her. “We’ll see about that.”

“Go away, Roby-poo. I want some alone time with my kid.”

“Right, see you later, darling,” Nightwing said, side-stepping the next hex hurled at him. As he entered into the building to go down the staircase, he paused as a small voice murmured out to him from the side of the stairway, a splash of flaming red hair shining from the corner of his eyes.

“Thanks...” Wally said quietly. “For talking to Jinx, I mean. It hurts to admit it, but she probably wouldn’t have felt better if I had been the one talking.”

“One of the perks of being her worst enemy. The words just seep in harder,” Nightwing said with a shrug. Jinx would have probably been the only one to snap him out of it had the situation been reversed. “You going to be alright, man?”

Wally glanced at where Jinx was, a content smile on her face as she rubbed her stomach absentmindedly. He gave Nightwing a softened smile. “I think we’ll be just fine.”

AN: I'm back! Okay, not really. Work is gonna go CRAZY soon, so I wanted to at least post something here as well since I did so for my other blogs. :) Hope you guys enjoyed it!

As stated in the drabble; sometimes, the people who get through to us the most is the people who we hate yet grudgingly respect the most.

22. Invincible - Flinx

It began with a simple remark made by Starfire.

“Glorious,” the red headed beauty chimed at Jinx. “You recover much faster than the average earthling. Robin is still not allowed to be in the training room and Beast Boy has yet to leave the recovery room.”

Jinx’s features froze a little before she gave a careless one-armed shrug. “I guess I do heal faster than most people. Though don’t tell Roby-poo that, he might get jealous.”

Starfire giggled, finding the name amusing as long as it wasn’t a certain blonde spewing the words. Kid Flash, on the other hand, had a thoughtful look, having overheard their conversation.

Now that he thought about it, Jinx had suffered a pretty hard blow in the last battle. It should have left her out of commission for a week at least, but only a little over a day had passed. Actually, the more pressing question was when was the last time Jinx had rested longer than a few days after a harsh, bone-crushing fight? Even when he knew she was bruised and battered, she would seem completely fine the next day or two.

Maybe she really did just heal faster. Batman was known for being able to heal quickly even after breaking several bones... though Robin did hint that the dark knight simply had higher pain tolerance and was too stubborn to sit around even when he was seriously injured. Alfred was the only one who could keep him still... kind of like how Starfire was the only one who could make Robin stay inside. Anyone else would need to use brute force to make them rest.

....or maybe he was just over thinking things.

“Jinxie!” Kid Flash yelled happily, zipping right behind her with his arm around her waist. Normally she’d jump in surprise before relaxing, having become accustomed to his random appearances. Instead she stiffened for a good few seconds before standing tensely in his arms. “You okay?”

“Fine,” she said with a grin and leaned against him as to emphasis just how find she was. “What’s up, KF?”

“Nothing, just seeing how you’re doing.” He said with a grin, hiding the concern that threatened to show. It had to have been his imagination, right?

“Fine, just paperwork,” she said with a small grumble, gesturing to the pile in her hands that she had been about to take to her room to work on.

“What you do to piss Robin off now?”

“Added pink hair-dye in his shampoo. Unfortunately, his hair is pretty dark so it didn’t turn out pink.” Jinx gave Kid Flash an impish grin. “However, there are now a bunch of pink streaks on his head. That’ll teach him to call me pinky. I can tolerate any other nickname but that.”

“Which, might I add,” he said kissing her cheek, “I had to learn the hard way. He got off light.”

“Well, based on how much he cherishes his hair, I believe he would beg to differ.”

“Mhm,” Kid Flash wasn’t really listening anymore, nuzzling his face into her neck. It had been so long since his last visit to the tower. He kissed her pulse, his lips skimming her neck as he trailed up higher. Jinx shivered under the feather-light touches.

“H-Hey, I have work to do.”

“It can wait,” he murmured, rising higher until he reached her ear. Kid Flash nipped the soft appendage, running his tongue lightly over the reddening mark before whispering into her ear. “C’mon Jinxie, I missed you.”

“No, work first, play later.” She shoved the papers in his face to push him away and while it did make him pull back, he tightened his grip around her waist so that he wouldn’t have to let go. Jinx let out a sharp hiss and her knees slightly buckled. Kid Flash’s eyes widened before he quickly readjusted his grip, helping her stand on her feet.

“What’s wrong? Are you okay?” he asked urgently before Jinx, after breathing in harshly, pressed a hand against his chest.

“I’m fine, I’m fine, it’s nothing,” she said, recovering her voice. Then, acting as though nothing had happened at all, Jinx stood on her own and slowly wiggled away from his hold. “I have work to do. We’ll continue this later.”

“But-.”

She gave him a playful smile, taking a step closer until she was right in front of him, her cheek pressed against his as she lightly whispered. “Patient boys get rewarded.”

His worry wavered at her heated voice and he spoke before he could even think. “What kind of rewards?”

“The special kind,” Jinx purred before demurely pulling away, the wicked glint in her eyes stunning him before she sauntered off into her room. By the time Kid Flash snapped out of it, she was gone and he was left torn between being aroused and concerned.

The last straw came after a particularly nasty battle with Cheshire. Since Jinx and Cheshire were old... acquaintances, there had been no bars hold in the midst of their fight. Unfortunately, Cheshire was lethal. There was no doubt about that. She could easily take on the majority of the Titans on her own so it came as no surprise when Cheshire was able to land a particularly deep set of clawed wounds on Jinx’s shoulder to her upper stomach. The only saving grace the pink haired girl had was that she was able to kick Cheshire on the shoulder, setting the girl off balance enough to fall down the rooftop. But they knew it wasn’t the end of the assassin.

Kid Flash had hovered around worriedly, having rushed from Central the moment he heard the news, while Raven had taken a look at the wounds. She ended up telling them that Jinx would need at least two weeks of rest before the injuries would be somewhat healed.

Raven had clearly said two weeks.

...and yet three days later when Kid Flash had zoomed back to Jump City to check on Jinx, he found her wandering around as though she hadn’t been injured at all. The other Titans were amazed. Only Kid Flash wasn’t convinced. At least, not anymore.

“Raven said two weeks,” he said with a frown.

“I’m fine.” She said, brushing away his concern.

“Did Raven at least give you a check-up to see if you’re really fine?”

Jinx rolled her eyes. “After she saw me doing a triple back flip during practice, I think she found the need redundant.”

“A triple flip?” he said with eyes bugged out. “There is no way you did a triple flip only three days after getting an injury like that.”

“There are the security tapes and the Titans as witnesses.” She said, sounding bored. “Are we done now? Because I’m getting pretty sick of this subject.”

“No way, we are not ending this topic here.” Kid Flash scowled. He was going to get to the bottom of this if it was the last thing he did. Raven said two weeks and yet, in three days Jinx was looking and acting fine. Normally he’d have believed that she must’ve had super-healing powers or something, but he still remembered the times Jinx would stiffen and flinch when someone would brush against her in where he remembered she had gotten hurt or if they handled her too roughly right after a brutal fight. There was something fishy about this and he was going to get to the bottom of this.

“Suit yourself, have fun talking about it alone.” She said with a wave, about to walk off. Kid Flash grabbed her by the shoulder and whirled her around, only to flinch and freeze when he heard the small muffled gasp of pain.

He gritted his teeth. There it was again! “Jinx, please, I’m begging you, talk to me.”

There was sweat gathered at her brow and she still had the audacity to grin reassuringly at him. “I’m fine, you idiot. There’s nothing to worry about.”

His straining patience that had been at its limit snapped apart and he moved without warning, gathering her in his arms before running in super speed. He barely heard her yelp of outrage, telling him to let go. Fat chance of that happening.

The world became a blur and by the time Jinx was able to see properly, she was sitting on what felt like a soft matted floor. She narrowed her eyes as she took in her surroundings, having had enough lessons at the HIVE to deduce where she was.

“Why am I in a hotel in Japan? And... is that sulfur?” she sniffed, tilting her head up. “Are we at a hotspring resort or something?”

“Take off your clothes.” He ordered tersely.

Jinx lifted what would have been a brow. “Excuse me? If this is your attempt in getting me naked, than you-eek! What are you doing?”

Kid Flash pushed her down onto the ground as gently as he could, feeling his chest tighten when she still flinched in pain. But it was a necessary evil. She wasn’t cooperating so he had to do something somehow. He had already pulled down the zipper of her dress and was now peeling the material off her skin.

“Kid Flash, stop that! Are you listening to me?” she yelled angrily, the panic now clear in her voice. Her powers sparked occasionally, but it didn’t hurt him. She could never really hurt him. Not anymore. “Will you just stop it already?”

The dress slipped off her shoulders and he couldn’t stop the loud gasp at the sight of the angry red wound on her shoulder that was still a bit bloodied. Her pale skin was marred with bruises and unhealed injuries. Scars ran up and down what felt like almost every inch of her skin and he feared what he would find if he was to pull her dress down any further.

Instead, he pulled back a little, his voice slightly shaking. “Why didn’t you tell me t-that you were-?”

“I’m fine,” she hissed, wanting very much to cover herself, hating the fear that welled up inside of her at the feel of his eyes roving over her skin.

“You are not fine,” he hissed back. “This,” he gestured at her wounds, “is not fine! Now tell me what the hell is going on?”

Though taken aback by how he had yelled at her, something he had never done since their entire time together, Jinx still glared at him. “It’s nothing I can’t handle so stop trying to baby me. I-.”

“Jinx, if I pull away the gauze even a little, you’re going to be bleeding all over the floor.” He said brusquely with hardened blue eyes. “That injury from a month ago is still healing because you haven’t been taking care of yourself. I knew you healed far too fast for it to be normal, but I fooled myself into think that I was just over-thinking things... but I wasn’t, was I? You just pretended that you were fine and bore through the pain, am I right?”

She didn’t reply.

“Am I right?” he clutched onto her shoulders, looking almost desperately at her.

“Why does it matter?” she murmured, looking away.

“Damn it Jinx!” Kid Flash yelled. “You can’t continue like this! You’re only human! You’re going to reach a breaking point sooner or later and then what?”

“I’ve never had a meltdown in my entire life,” her voice was cold, almost emotionless. It sent a shiver down his spine. “I’m fine, Kid Flash. Stuff like this isn’t enough to stop me for the next fight.”

“The next fight? Who cares about the next fight!” he spat out, wondering what the hell was going through her mind. Why was she so fixated on acting as though she was okay? Why was she so afraid to show that she was in pain? “Was it the HIVE? Did they engrain some twisted logic inside of you that it’s okay to be hurt?”

She snorted. “The HIVE had nothing to do with this. I’m fine, I-.”

“Oh, so it’s okay to be hurt? Its fine if I decide to grab this pen and just stab myself right here and now?” the pen seemed to materialize out of nowhere with his super-speed. Before he could shove it through his chest, Jinx’s hand shot out and grabbed him by the arm.

“Are you crazy?” she hissed, internally knowing he knew she was going to stop him. If he had really wanted to hurt himself, he would have moved too fast for her to prevent it from happening.

“You tell me, Jinx,” he spoke coldly.

Argh, this stupid boy! She very much just wanted to tell him that it was none of his business and it really wasn’t! But how could she say something like that to him? How could she bare seeing the hurt rise into his features? It wasn’t fair! This control he had over her... it wasn’t... it wasn’t fair...

“Meta-human fights...” she murmured softly, her eyes turned to the side so that she wouldn’t need to look at him or the emotions in those damn expressive blue eyes. “There are underground meta-human rings... I’m sure you heard about them.”

“Yeah,” he replied softly, having read reports about the illegal gambling arenas where meta-humans would have deadly matches while the wealthy gambled on them. Kid Flash’s eyes widened. Don’t tell him that-?

“There were children divisions in the past... and I bet there still are right now. They were always good at hiding...” She spoke scornfully. “This was before the HIVE, before Brother Blood bought me after attending one of the events and noticing my... potential. In the ring, it’s always a life or death fight. You’re given no time to heal in between matches, sometimes they were back to back... it didn’t matter if you had a broken bone or if you had even crapped your pants because of how tired you were... you’d get sent out to the ring and you’d either die fighting or come out barely alive.”

“B-But killing is illegal in those arenas. S-Something... Something about merchandise being hard to come by.” He said in shock, sounding sick even as he tried to soften the blows being laid on him.

Jinx smirked, though she still wasn’t looking at him. “Is that how it is now? Back then, it was either life or death. If you were weak, you were killed. If you showed that you were hurt anywhere, believe me, that’s the first place they’ll hit you. And they’ll hit you hard.”

“Jinx...” he breathed out, his vision going blurry with the tears gathering in his eyes. He had always known that her past had been sordid with her involvement with the HIVE and all, but to this extent? ...he really didn’t know much other than the reports given about her time at HIVE and their time together... he really didn’t know much at all...

With an angry frown, he slowly, almost reverently, lifted her up from the ground, pulling her into his arms until he had her in a gentle hug. He buried his face in her hair, breathing in the deep comforting scent. He had barely even scratched the surface of who Jinx was and something told him that it would only be getting dirtier as he ventured forth, but he wouldn’t turn away. He would never back down.

“I’m sorry,” he whispered in a raspy voice.

“For what?” she spoke quietly, her hands tightly clutching onto her dress. He wasn’t disgusted? He wasn’t angry? He wasn’t... wasn’t revolted by how she wasn’t picture perfect with those flawless skins that guys supposedly adored? “It wasn’t like you could have done something.”

“But that’s what heroes are supposed to do! Be able to help people when they’re in need, especially the kids!” he yelled, his voice cracking with emotion.

“You can’t be at all places at once,” she lifted a hand to run through his hair, feeling his frame shake as he held her. She didn’t want to tell him because she was afraid of what it would to do him... and look what she had caused... he was probably crying right now, that little baby. “And it’s alright now. You saved me. You rescued me before it was too late.”

“Don’t ever keep something like this from me again,” Kid Flash said vehemently, pulling away so that he could look at her. “Promise me Jinx.”

Jinx sighed, as if she could deny him anything when he was giving her such a heart-broken look. “...I promise...”

“Good.”

“Now mind telling me why we’re in Japan of all places?”

“I figured you were still hurt,” he murmured into her hair, unwilling to let her go. Kid Flash had her seated on his lap, his hand absentmindedly running up and down her arm. “And I heard that hotsprings were good for you. Not to mention, they have mixed baths here.”

“Wally!” she scolded, her face turning red.

“Hey it’s for a good reason!” he protested. “I get to check every part of you to make sure you’re okay and that you’re not hiding anything from me. We’re coming here from now on so that this doesn’t happen again.”

Jinx’s eyes widened comically as she gawked openly at him. “You’ve got to be kidding me.”

“When it comes to your safety Jinx, I’m never joking.”

AN: Yay, another post! I can imagine a scenario like this influencing Jinx, if she's had a traumatic past as described in this post, and Wally being aghast at being so helpless about it all. Since Teen Titans never really went into detail about her past, I've taken personal liberties of thinking of my own. :)

“Jinx,” Robin murmured carefully, one leg resting on top of the ledge of the room as he watched the nightlife of Jump City. “Promise me... Promise me that the moment there’s even a hint of me changing to Slade’s apprentice again that you’ll end me.”

Jinx, who had been leaning next to the door that led back down into the T-Tower, narrowed her eyes with a grim smirk. “Funny, I guess we really do think alike.”

“What makes you say that?”

“I was just about to ask you the same thing.” She replied coolly. “The moment I start to even breathe differently, I want you to put an end to me. And I don’t mean behind bars.”

“And what makes you think me, the teen wonder, would actually have the ability to end the life of someone?” Robin tilted his head, giving a smirk of his own. “I was raised by Batman, you know, the one who refuses to take the life of even the scummiest criminals.”

She snorted. “I thought we already established this when you tried to beat the shit out of me for calling you Batman’s whipping boy... You’re you and that means you have different standards. And I know this is too important for you to pretend that it’s the same shit as usual. Why else would you have called me of all people for this? Starfire is a hell of a lot stronger than me and I can think of a couple of other people who would have it easier than me when it comings to offing you... but you and I know she’d never be able to harm you.”

“Just like why you’re not talking to Kid Flash about this.” He said knowingly before sighing tiredly. “Look at us. We’re not even allowed to legally drink and we’re already talking about killing each other the moment we do something wrong.”

“Different circumstances.” Jinx shrugged. “We’re not exactly normal.”

“...but I chose to live this life. You, on the other hand, didn’t have a choice at all. I don’t think it’s very fair that you think you should be killed if you convert back to your old ways. It’s not like-.”

“We are not going to go through some psychological 101 shit right now, Robin. Promise me. Swear on your life,” Jinx snapped, crossing her arms over her chest imposingly. “You know why I can’t trust myself. I’ve already lost control twice... I refuse to let a third happen.”

“You lost control the first time because one of those demented HIVE teachers brought back memories from your time there... and the second was because you thought all of us had been killed. And during each episode, you never hurt any of us, just the people who tried to hurt us.” Robin said softly, remembering the details of her sordid past. Forced to fight against other meta-human children for the sick gambling addictions of the wealthy... forced to kill once fighting wasn’t enough...

“That’s no excuse.”

“It’ll break Kid Flash if you disappeared from his life.”

“And it’ll break Starfire with you,” she rolled her eyes. “Face it, boy-blunder, you’re not getting out of this.”

He chuckled softly, his gaze returning to the glittering lights of the city under his protection. “Whatever you say, sweetheart.”

AN: I’d like to think that after all the hating and arguing, Robin and Jinx would have an understanding of each other. He hates evil even though he could feel a twisted connection to it. Jinx hates evil, but she embraces and rejects that side of her at the same time. Because of that, Robin hates her because she represents what he can’t do, understanding evil and learning to be above it. It’s something he struggles with, hence the reason why deep down he can never run away from Slade.

At the same time, Jinx envies Robin for always being able to believe in his teammates and lead them properly –which Jinx had failed with the HIVE Five- while she always hesitates and hurts herself because of her insecurities and past.

I guess, these two sort of admire each other and while they probably know that deep down, on the surface, they’d get disgusted at the mere mention of admiration.

Jinx’s eyes fluttered open before she screamed at the sight of the piercing blue eyes staring down at her. She sat up quickly and almost banged her head against Kid Flash’s chin if it wasn’t for his speed. Catching her breath, she clutched onto her speeded heart before chucking her pillow at him with an angry glare. “What the hell are you doing in here, Kid Flash? How did you get in here anyways?”

“Did I ever tell you how adorable you look while you’re asleep?” he inquired sweetly and Jinx froze, her instincts going haywire that there was something seriously wrong with him.

“...are you drunk?” she deadpanned before shaking her head. “No, wait, never mind, unless you drank like a gallon of vodka, you don’t get drunk. Did you hit your head then? Or did you get into a fight with someone with magic or telepathic powers?”

“Huh? No, no, no spell! And no mind-control!” Kid Flash rushed, feeling a little hurt that she thought he needed to be under a spell or something to have to compliment her. He hadn’t been lying when he said that she looked cute when she slept... it had been a long time since he had seen that face, actually. He then tried to grin at her, one hand rubbing the back of his neck. “I mean, there’s nothing wrong with a guy complimenting his girlfriend, right?”

“Right,” Jinx said, narrowing her eyes. Except said boyfriend rarely complimented her these days, other than the boyfriend duties during their rare ‘dates’. She sighed, running a hand through her messy pink hair. “Look, if this is about the whole Robin thing, then-.”

“It has nothing to do with that,” he said rushed vehemently. “I just thought it would be nice to... you know... spend some quality time with my girlfriend since I rarely get to see you with me being in Central and everything.”

“...right,” Jinx would have arched an eyebrow skeptically if she had one. Instead, she crawled out from under her blanket and headed over to her closest to change out of her shorts and tank-top. Kid Flash’s eyes followed her, especially the long-tantalizing legs that were revealed by... were those his boxers? When had she-? ...oh, it was from the time before she had gotten a room in Titan’s tower and she had stayed over his temporary apartment in Jump.

Now that he thought about it, when was the last time he had actually been in Jinx’s room like this? If he looked around, there were some things he didn’t remember her having in here. In fact, now that he had a good look of her bookshelf, her collection of sketchbook seemed to have grown! When the heck did that happen? In the past, he would always go rummaging through them without Jinx’s permission, teasing her about her drawings while she’d try to strangle him.

He disappeared in a blur from her bed and towards the bookshelf, pulling out one of the newer looking sketchbooks. His eyes widened in surprise. “Hey, these are really good.”

Jinx’s head popped out from the closest and she frowned. “Don’t look at those!”

“No, I’m serious, these are really nice. A total upgrade from the unicorns.” He said with a grin, instinctively dodging the hex aimed for his head. Kid Flash dodged the next set of angry sparks as he flipped through the pages. “Wow, you’ve improved a lot in such a short amount of time.”

“Actually,” Jinx popped up in front of him without warning and snatched the sketchbook away. Silly boy, the hexes had only been a diversion for her to get close to him, “I’ve been taking classes and it hasn’t been a short amount of time.”

“Classes?” he echoed blankly. “Since when?”

“Since a little over a month ago.” She glanced at the sketchbook before closing it. “Before that, I browsed through some books and stuff online.”

“Oh...” Kid Flash trailed off.

“Now then,” having changed back into her usual clothes and her hair pinned up, Jinx plopped back down on top of the bed. “What do you really want?”

“Huh?” he stared at her blankly.

She gave him a quizzical look. “Aren’t you in here because you need something? Or is it some kind of favor? Is that why you’re acting weird, because you need me to do something you know I won’t like?”

“What? No, I just... um... you know... wanted to hang out with my girlfriend?” he ended weakly and Jinx was now staring openly at him, her features softening as she looked at him in concern.

“...really, are you feeling okay?”

Eh, he kind of wanted to go find a hole to bury himself into right about now, but he wasn’t going to say that. “Uh... perfectly fine.”

“Well for someone who’s feeling perfectly fine, you’re acting terribly out of character and just plain weird.” Jinx replied bluntly and tilted her head. Kid Flash felt her eyes running up and down his body... though to his utter disappointment, it just looked like she was checking to see if he was injured or not. “Not to mention, you just called me your girlfriend at least three times in the last five minutes.”

“But it’s true! You are my girlfriend!”

“And now we have a fourth,” Jinx crossed her arms, an intimidating glare coming across her eyes. Even if she was technically his girlfriend –she really wondered about it-, it was strange as to why he kept calling her that as though he was the one insecure about this relationship. Right... like he had anything to worry about. “Spill it. What’s going on?”

“Nothing,” he said, fidgeting under her stare.

She shook her head in frustration and got off the bed, heading to the door. “Fine, if there’s really nothing, then I’m heading out.”

“Wait, what about hanging out together?”

Jinx paused and turned around. “You were serious about that?”

“Of course, why wouldn’t I be?” give him a little credit here! It wasn’t like he was completely ignoring her! They had gone on dates before, like that time they went to the movies... only to end up with him leaving her to stop a robbery and then that weird other-dimension Robin known as Larry had gotten several women to fall in love with him... gah, idiot, he should’ve asked if she wanted to come with him to do the hero work instead of leaving her behind like that! That would have made a totally awesome date! Not to mention, if Jinx was the one who got hit by cupid’s arrow, she would have been all over him too! But no, he said he’d be right back and that she should get the tickets and the snacks...

But wait, there was also the time at the carnival! ...where he had totally failed to get her that turtle doll... but that wasn’t his fault! There was that kid that was stealing everyone’s power and had stolen his as well! ...and Jinx had been really worried about him that time too... in fact, she had even been worried that she was the one behind the loss of his super speed.

W-Well, at least he tried to protect Jinx from the HIVE during the time the Titans had met Ravager! ...which he shouldn’t have since he knew Jinx didn’t like being treated like a damsel. Again, should have offered his assistance instead of trying to take over... god, had he done anything the right way so far?

Actually, now that he thought about it, the time he met Jinx’s ex-boyfriend, she had said that he was her ‘partner’... not boyfriend, but partner! What was up with that?

“....day-dreaming again?” Jinx inquired smoothly, leaning against her door. She had watched as a vast array of emotions ran through his face, ranging from guilt to aggravation and then anger. It was fun to watch since Kid Flash had such a short attention span. He had his serious moments, but unless it mattered, he was often thinking about multiple things at the same time.

“What? No!” ugh, since when was it that she had the upper-hand on him? He was normally the one teasing her and getting her flustered! When had things changed so much without him noticing?

“Uh-huh, well then, while you’re in your little world, I’m leav-iingggg!” Jinx shrieked when she felt something wrap around her waist and pull her back at an impossible speed. It took her a moment to orient herself before she realized that she was sitting on Kid Flash’s lap, his arms wrapped tightly around her. She looked would have looked up at him peeved if it wasn’t for how he was pressing his cheek against hers. “Now what?”

“Hey Jinx,” he murmured softly. “Are you getting tired of me?”

“...what?” now what was he on about?

“I mean... well, I haven’t exactly been the greatest of all boyfriends. Not to mention, we rarely get to see each other since the Titans are back in Jump and they don’t need me covering for them. I’m always at Central, leaving you alone here with the others and you... well, you switched sides and all so there’s probably not a lot of people you can-.” He was silenced by a finger placed on his lips.

“Kid Flash, you’re babbling.” She said expressionlessly.

“There’s that too! I haven’t heard you call me Wally in a really long time!”

“And when exactly would I have the opportunity to call you by your real name? In front of the other girls you’re always flirting with?” Jinx inquired smoothly and he winced.

“Okay, I deserve that one.”

Judging by her silence, it was obviously she didn’t believe that and he groaned, pressing his forehead against her shoulder.

“Okay, so I deserve a lot more than just that.”

Jinx continued to remain silent and turned her gaze to the side in a huff.

Ugh, he hated this. Here he was at the verge of losing someone precious to him and he had no idea what to say to fix it. What could he say anyways? Most of it was his fault. If he thought about it, Jinx had directly confronted him about the whole ‘flirting’ problem many times. It actually made him grin wryly at the thought. Typical Jinx. She was never one to just turn away from her problems. Instead, she would bravely face it head on.

“So... are you getting tired of me?” he asked cautiously, bracing himself for her answer.

“Where would you get such an idea anyways?” Jinx asked in exasperation, lifting a hand to cover her face. “If anything, I should be the one asking if you’re getting tired of me.”

“What? Why would you even think that?” he said, sounding shocked.

“Oh I don’t know,” she said sarcastically, “maybe it was how you’re always running off with the others or leaving me behind to flirt with other girls. It’s like you were trying to clue me in that you weren’t interested anymore, but you sucked at telling me directly.”

“That was so not what I was trying to do!” Kid Flash rushed defensively.

“Then what were you trying to imply with your incessant flirting?” Jinx asked and felt him squirming beneath her. She had half a mind of just hexing his arms off from around her and storming off, but didn’t since this was actually the first time Kid Flash was listening when she confronted him about his little problem.

“I don’t really mean anything by it,” he said clumsily, fumbling to find the right words to explain himself without coming off as a total jerk. “It’s just... what else am I supposed to say to them? Can’t talk about video games, can’t talk about sports-.”

“You seriously can’t be telling me that your range in topics is that stereotypically limited,” Jinx said incredulously. “That’s not all you talk about when we’re alone together.”

“That’s because you’re different! You’re special!”

“Uh-huh,” another girl would have felt touched, but Jinx wasn’t convinced. He wasn’t getting off that easily after ditching her so many times. “If I’m really that special, why is it that you picked me up in the same way you do with other girls? This situation would have been more reasonable if you flirted with everyone, but sucked at flirting with the person you actually like... but the only difference between me and the other girls is that you’re not burying them with roses.”

“Hey, I know you liked them,” he objected hastily before trailing off, his arms tightening around her waist. Kid Flash turned his head to whisper into her ear. “And wasn’t the fact that you’re the only one I gave roses to a dead giveaway that I see you differently from the others?”

“You’re dealing with an ex-villainess here,” she rolled her eyes with a snort. “Not to mention a repeatedly scorned girlfriend. You can’t just assume I’m going to simply trust you like that.”

“You think I cheated on you?” Kid Flash asked in shock. Did she really think that lowly of him? Sure, he may have given off the wrong impressions, but he would never do something like that!

“No, you’re too much of a golden boy to go that far.” Jinx reached up to pat him on the cheek reassuringly. “I’m just saying you could have been giving girls roses for all I know. It’s not like I’m always with you. Like you said, you are away in Central often and with how you talk girls, I don’t think I’ll be too surprised by-.”

He spun her around by the shoulders so that she was facing him, his normally playful blue eyes holding a serious glint. “I would never betray you Jinx. Never.”

She struggled to get the words out, to agree with him openly that he would never betray her. When he had first helped her transition to the good side, she would have said it in a heartbeat that Kid Flash would never betray her. It was still true. She trusted him to watch her back in any fight... but with her heart... that was a different matter.

Even if she did act like a bitch and walked with the poise of a confident woman, she was still vulnerable. And it wasn’t the nicest feeling when someone you truly lo-liked about would always leave you to talk to another girl or brush away your concerns when you were trying to have a serious conversation with them.

Jinx’s inability to give him an answer hurt him deeply. Had he really pushed her that far? Was he really on the verge of losing her? What if... What if this was the start of a rift forming between them? What if Jinx started to really put herself out there with the other heroes and they started liking her for who she truly was, allowing other guys to see just how kind and wonderful she was?

Kid Flash hadn’t been kidding when he said that Jinx was really pretty. And even when she was still a villain, others had found her attractive, Cyborg being a prime example of that. Others would soon gravitate towards her once they saw past her icy exterior... an exterior he had been the only one to get through.

What if she decided she couldn’t handle what felt like little acts of betrayal from him and decided to call it quits?

His grip on her shoulders tightened.

No!

He couldn’t let things end like this!

Jinx’s eyes widened when Kid Flash suddenly dipped her down and kissed her. Her instinctive gasp of surprise allowed him to enter her mouth and she moaned at the ferocity of the kiss. It was as though he was trying to leave his presence in every crevice of her mouth, his hand tracing the curve of her jaw. At first she was in disbelief that he had actually kissed her, as though that would blow all their problems away, but she decided that that fact could be handled later. For now, she just wanted to enjoy the kiss. It had been so long since he had given her one like this anyways.

Her hand made its way to the back of his head, pulling him closer to deepen the kiss. But to her surprise, she felt Kid Flash pulling away from her. His face was still close, the front of his head pressed against hers. His lips ticklishly brushed her lips and she could feel his breath mingling hotly with her own. Kid Flash’s hand trailed down the side of her body until it rested on the swell of her hips, his eyes closed as though he was trying to memorize this sensation, to firmly commit this moment in his mind.

“I’m sorry Jinx... will you forgive me?”

Internally she sighed. Would this really cure him of his bad habit? Or would this just be an endless cycle of broken hearts and regrets?

Jinx reached up, pulling the mask off of his face. He looked down at her with those pure innocent blue eyes sprinkling with regret and a plea for forgiveness. The idiot... as if she could ever stay mad for so long at him. She cupped the side of his face and pulled him in for a gentle kiss.

“You’re forgiven... somewhat.”

“I guess it’s a start,” he said weakly, pulling her back up so that he could cuddle her against his chest. “I promise you, you won’t regret it.”

She almost dryly mentioned that he had said something like that in the beginning of their relationship, but decided to keep that little tidbit to herself. Instead, she asked him the question that had been bugging her for a while. “What kind of proof was it anyways? That Robin and I were flirting with each other?”

“Oh... um... Speedy had been in the control room when you and Robin were sparring. He kind of overheard and saw everything. Took pictures and the works.”

“And you didn’t take them away from him?” Jinx demanded, pushing him away with enraged eyes. No wonder the damn arrow-head had looked so smug! He was the cause of all this!

Kid Flash chuckled nervously. “Um, I think I was more concerned about the possibility of you and Robin flirting with each other tha-.”

“Ew, no, never bring that up again!” Jinx yelled before growling in frustration. “When I get my hands on that stupid narcissistic bastard, I’m going to-.”

“Have I ever told you how positively sexy you sound when you growl like that?” Kid Flash said suggestively, internally laughing at how Jinx’s face flushed. Oh yeah, he had definitely missed doing this. Especially the part when she’d start glaring at him, claws extended like an angry kitten.

“Wally,” she growled again.

“Yeah, just like that. Except using that tone with my name sounds even better.” ah, bliss, he hadn’t realized just how much he liked her calling him by his real name until now. Guess he really had been taking it for granted, but he was a quick learner! Never again will this happen, not if he had anything to say about it. “C’mon Jinxie, growl for me again.”

“WALLY!”

Robin grunted as he was thrown onto the sparring mat, his head still whirling from having been pulled along in super speed. He shook his head and then sat up, only to meet fiery blue eyes that smoldered with an anger he had never seen before. Still, Robin scowled. “What’s your problem?”

“That’s what I want to ask you, Dick.” Kid Flash said through gritted teeth. “What’s going on between you and Jinx?”

Oh god, not this again. Robin was truly regretting starting the whole ‘sweet endearment’ fiasco to piss Jinx off. It was way more trouble than it was worth. “For the last time, nothing’s going on. Why would anyone even-.”

“Because for the past few days, you’ve been calling her things like ‘sweetie’ and ‘honey’! Stuff you would never say to even Starfire, much less Jinx!” Kid Flash blew up. When he had first heard the rumors, he had brushed it away with a laugh. His Jinx flirting with someone else? Get real. She was more likely to hex them if they walked against her too close. But then he had personally witnessed it for himself later, how Robin would call her those sweet nicknames and she’d yell at him, her face red... from anger or embarrassment, he couldn’t be sure...

Robin yelled out, throwing his hands up in the air. “It was to piss her off! Wasn’t that obvious?”

“...what?”

“Jinx and I hate each other. It’s a given! Everyone knows that even though we’re on the same side now, we don’t get along. So how do you think someone like her would react when I call her by those names? They probably sound shitty coming from me since she hates me! And since I hate her, of course I’d call her by those names! Her suffering is my joy! But apparently I miscalculated since the moment I started this stupid idea, I’ve been constantly getting hounded by people asking if there’s something going on between us and now even you’re accusing me of-of I don’t know and I don’t want to know!” he yelled, breathing hard by the time he was done. Whew, it felt good letting it all out of his chest.

“So you... and her... there’s really nothing going on?” Kid Flash asked weakly.

“Yes, there is nothing. There never was and there never will be!” Robin shouted in frustration.

Kid Flash actually fell backwards onto the ground in relief. Jinx wasn’t going out with Robin. They weren’t flirting and being all lovey-dovey together behind his back. Shit, he was always away in Central, but he had never really considered about the possibility of Jinx finding another guy to like. After all, he was Kid Flash, fastest boy alive! He was good looking and had all the brilliant charms! Who else could she fall for?

...but Jinx was really pretty too. He had become too comfortable with the fact that she didn’t like other people –not to mention, didn’t have many friends since switching sides- and would keep to herself more often than be with others. But... But what if she found someone who became close to her and that person realized just how cute and adorable Jinx could be? Kid Flash wasn’t stupid. Everyone thought that Jinx was cold-hearted and mean, but if they knew the truth about her real self... and then there was how Jinx had been pretty cold and snippy with him lately.

...oh shit.

“KF, you okay?” Robin asked in concern over how his normally talkative and hyperactive friend had stopped moving. Heck, it looked like he had even stopped breathing!

“Robin, what do I do?” Kid Flash yelled, zooming up and grabbing Robin by the shoulder. “I think I’m going to lose Jinx at this rate!”

Robin arched an eyebrow. “You finally took your head out of your ass to notice that?”

“What do you mean?” the red head asked, bemused.

“Well,” Robin drawled, looking away as though that would soothe the sting of the words he was going to say. “You haven’t exactly been the most ideal of boyfriends.”

“What? I’ve been a perfect gentleman! And how would you know that? How many dates have you gone on, Mr. I’m-Married-To-Work?” Kid Flash squawked in a panic and Robin rolled his eyes.

“I think I know enough to say that you’re a complete idiot.” He said. “That and I often hear the girls talking about it.”

“The girls actually say that too?” Kid Flash said in disbelief. But he was Kid Flash! One of the hottest teen superheroes around! “What do they say? C’mon, don’t keep a guy hanging!”

“Get off of me,” Robin shoved Kid Flash away when the alarmed speedster began to shake him at hyper-speed “And they always talk about how you compliment every girl you meet.”

“Well duh, how could I not say nice things to a pretty girl when I see one?”

“And how do you think Jinx feels about that?” Robin said in exasperation. “You two are supposedly going out with each other-.”

“We are not supposedly going out! We are going out!” Kid Flash said hotly.

“-and yet, the boyfriend of the equation is still going around talking to girls as though he’s still looking for a girlfriend.” Robin continued to deadpan. “It gives the impression that you don’t really see Jinx as a girlfriend, but something sleazy like a one-sided friend with benefits. But here you are, running around like a crazy lunatic the moment stupid baseless rumors spread out that she’s flirting with someone.”

“B-But I’m just telling it as it is,” Kid Flash protested weakly. “They’re attractive, so what’s wrong with telling them that?”

“Oh really?” Robin challenged, wondering where his life had gone that he was now playing relationship counselor with Kid Flash. And it was also to help his hateful frenemy, Jinx. “Then you find nothing wrong with the idea of Jinx going up to Bushido with a suggestive smile saying he’s ‘looking good’ as you told Wondergirl once or her waltzing up to Aqualad saying ‘can’t a girl stop and chat with a good-looking guy for a second’ as, if I recall correctly, you did with Raven?”

Kid Flash fell silent.

“Not a pretty good feeling, is it?”

“...No. Not a good feeling at all.” The red head groaned as he sprawled on the sparring mats. “What am I going to do, Dick? I tried talking to Jinx earlier and she just blew me off... and I don’t think I exactly earned any brownie points by hounding her about if she was flirting with you or not.”

“Eh, knowing Jinx, she probably tried confronting you directly about your little habit and knowing you, you probably just brushed her off. And since I haven’t heard her screaming at you for a while, that means she’s not even paying attention to you flirting with girls anymore.” Robin said, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly at how he was now the bearer of bad news. “Sorry to say this Wally, but if Jinx wants to end things with you, I’m not sure how you can fix that.”

Kid Flash answered with a miserable groan.

I don't own Teen Titans and while I would have liked to have more development between Kid Flash and Jinx, I'm glad they're technically a canon couple and even got to kiss in the comics! 8D

Jinx took a sip of her soda, internally twitching as she sat in front of Starfire who hadn’t spoke a word during their entire shopping spree. It was something Starfire dragged Jinx out to do once a week since Raven wasn’t the shopping type and honestly speaking, she kind of enjoyed the cheerful alien girl’s presence -though she’d never admit it out loud, even if threatened to have all her teeth pulled out with no anesthesia. She was a little bubbly and over-bearing sometimes, but talking to Starfire showed Jinx that she was more than just the supposed air-headed teen with the occasional insight that everyone made her out to be.

...just as Raven had her girly moments, moments Raven had made Jinx swore under pain of torture to never reveal to anyone.

Living with the Titans sure revealed parts of them no one ever would have thought about.

“Okay, that’s it,” Jinx shoved her soda away. “What’s going on, Star?”

“I-I do not know what you mean,” Starfire was fidgeting now, toying with her hair.

“We’ve been at the mall for the last two hours and I know if you were right in the head, you would have flown after that really nice blouse at the last store or those shoes in the previous one. Instead, you’ve been walking this entire time. Walking, not flying. Walking.” Jinx tapped her fingers on the table expectantly. “What’s wrong?”

“I do not mean to be a burden,” by now, Starfire was tugging at her hair and Jinx felt an eyelid twitch. She was just not cut out for this whole talking-with-feelings thing. Fortunately for her, she didn’t need to say more since Starfire continued to speak. “I have just heard... the rumors.”

“Rumors? What rumors?” Jinx asked calmly. There were plenty of stories about her that circulated, whether it was amongst the Titans or the civilians. They knew of her sordid past and because of that, wild stories tended to come out of that.

“Is it true,” Starfire hesitated, “that friend Jinx and Robin are doing... the dating?”

It took a moment for Starfire’s words to register in Jinx’s head, her eyes widened to comical proportions. After all, there was no way Starfire could be asking such a preposterous question... right? Right?! And where could such a story have originated? Everyone knew Jinx and Robin despised each other! What was wrong with the world?

Unfortunately, Starfire took Jinx’s silence as confirmation. She bowed her head, her hair slightly covering her face. “...I se-.”

“Starfire,” Jinx began slowly, stuck in a state of disbelief because of how utterly moronic the question was. She then slammed her hands onto the table, causing all the contents to shake as she spoke through gritted teeth. “Robin and I are not doing... ugh... the dating... we never have and we never will. Hell will freeze over before the possibility can be even considered. Trigon will return and actually succeed in taking over the world before blunder-breath and I will even consider doing that! And we will never bring this up again for the rest of our lives, am I clear?”

Though delighted by the fact that Jinx had refuted the rumors, Starfire looked concerned by how red Jinx’s face was getting. “Are you-?”

“Am I clear?” Jinx practically snarled, her knuckles popping out because of how tightly she was clenching her fist.

Starfire giggled a little nervously since pink sparks were dancing across Jinx’s hand. “Of course, if that is what you wish.”

Jinx sighed. She was going to need a bucket of ice cream later to forget all this... a lot of buckets. “So now that this... misunderstanding is fixed, you want to go check out those shoes again?”

Starfire’s green eyes sparkled with delight as she grabbed Jinx’s hand, shooting up into the air and towards the store. “Oh, yes! Let us continue with the shopping with windows!”

Starfire was just the first of many strange incidents of the day. Of course, the second offender just had to be one of the most infuriating Titans of them all.

“How’s it hanging,” Speedy leered with a suspiciously smug smirk, “sweetie.”

“If you don’t want all of your arrows to blow up at once on your face, you’ll refrain from saying that ever again.” Jinx snarled, her glowing hand held up threateningly. “In fact, how about I mess with your hair right now to show you how serious I am?”

“You wouldn’t,” he gasped, grabbing the top of his head.

“I would,” Jinx said with a vicious grin. “I can make you have a bad hair day for the rest of your pathetic life and not even the most experienced hair dresser will ever be able to fix it again.”

Speedy glared at her and took off to avoid having to deal with the aftermath of the humiliating defeat. Once he was gone, she sighed. Ugh, second time today. This couldn’t be by chance since Starfire had said there had been rumors and Speedy had just called her sweetie of all things.

Her eyes narrowed.

There had been just one other person in that gymnasium that day other than her and Robin.

“Cyborg,” she hissed under her breath, her eyes screaming murder as she turned towards the direction that would lead to Cyborg’s room.

“What about Cyborg?” there was a familiar whoosh and she felt her shoulder become heavy as someone leaned on it. Jinx shrugged him away with a scowl.

“Nothing,” she snapped. Ugh, Kid Flash was the last person she wanted to see right now. He had been gone all day, probably off gallivanting with some girl he had rescued. “I just have to talk to him about something.”

And by talk, she meant dismembering him.

“Is that so,” Kid Flash casually remarked before leaning in to whisper into her ear, “sweetie?”

Jinx stiffened before pulling away from him quickly, looking at him in astonishment. “Where did you hear that?”

Maybe he could help her lead to the source of the rumors so that she could beat the shit out of them... or at least produce amnesia so that s/he will never produce such horrible traumatic lies ever again.

The possibility was thrown out the window when she saw a frown on Kid Flash’s normally cheerful face. “Is there something going on between you and Robin?”

Jinx groaned, looking at the ceiling as though it had all the answers to her problem. “Not you too.”

“I’m just saying Jinx,” Kid Flash said with his arms crossed, a deep scowl settling in on his face. “There’ve been these rumors floating around about you two and that there’s even proof of you two being... affectionate with each other.”

“Affectionate, that’s a pretty big word for you, KF.” Jinx said sarcastically, not catching how his eyes narrowed. She was really not in the mood for this. And proof? There was proof? What proof could they possibly have? The closest thing they could have of her and Robin being ‘affectionate’ with each other was them beating the shit out of each other.

“And there’s how you two have been flirting for the past few days-.”

“F-Flirting?” Jinx choked out. “Who’s flirting? Why the hell would I flirt with bird-brain? And you, of all people, accusing me of flirting? That’s hilarious KF, really hilarious.”

“Sweetie, darling, honey, dearest,” he listed off.

“Bird-brain, boy blunder, porcupine head,” Jinx droned with him. “Judging by the quality of names, I’d say if anyone is doing the flirting, it’s Robin and no, he isn’t. We are not flirting. We are not going out. We are not anything! I wish people would just butt out and pay attention to their own lives for a change!”

“But I have a right to be involved!” Kid Flash protested loudly. They were going out for goodness sake and there was something pretty wrong if his girlfriend was off flirting with another boy, especially if that boy was his best friend! And what was it about Robin flirting back? He had Starfire! ...even if it wasn’t completely official just yet...

Jinx gave him an incredulous look before smacking herself in the forehead. She mumbled incoherent words and began to walk away from him. Nope, she was not dealing with this right now. She did not have the self-control or mental capacity to have another talk with Kid Flash where they ‘discussed’ his flirting addiction. She labeled it as ‘discussed’ because it was where she’d confront him, he’d brush away her anger, and then they’d return to the demented circle of him flirting his butt off and her stewing away in a pot of anger, jealousy, and hurt.

Nope, not again.

Ugh, why was she still with him again?

Right, she was in lov... like, she liked him. And she was just going to pretend she had never almost associated Kid Flash and the forbidden big L-word for the rest of her life. Though what other reason could there be other than love that a girl would stick with an annoying speedster like Kid Flash.

“I’m going to take a nap, KF.” Jinx said tiredly.

“Hey, we’re not done with this conversation.” He reached out to grab her, but pulled away before he got stung by the hexes that shot down her arm.

“Yes, we are. And if you accuse me of flirting with Robin again, I promise you that you’ll be decommissioned from hero duties for an entire month.” She threatened before storming away, leaving an aggravated and frustrated Kid Flash behind.

“For the last time, there is nothing going on between me and Jinx!” Robin bemoaned his fate, collapsing on his seat as Raven gave him a skeptical look. There was no doubt about it. Jinx was the Queen of Bad Luck and she had sent a serious case of it towards his way. Maybe he needed to cut back on the mental torture of calling her cute pet-names. The plan had backfired catastrophically by causing him more problems. “Seriously! And why do you even care?”

“I don’t,” the blue-cloaked girl said seriously. “It’s just that recently there’ve been a wave of chaotic emotions that are seriously getting on my nerves.”

“What do you mean?”

“First off, you should talk to Starfire about these rumors... and while you’re at it, you two should hurry up and get together so that we can avoid misunderstandings like this in the future. It’s not good for the team.” Raven said bluntly, though she omitted the fact that Starfire seemed a lot better after that outing with Jinx. Robin sputtered dumbly at her words. “And there’s one other person...”

“Who?” Robin asked tiredly. Like things could get any worse.

The door slammed open and Raven tilted her head at the intruder, already knowing who it was. “Him.”

Robin lifted his head and saw the familiar shades of gold and red. Great, the worst just kept happening. “Kid Flash?”

“You. Me. Gym. Now.” Kid Flash grabbed Robin by the collar and Robin was barely able to let out a surprised yell before the two disappeared into a blur.

Raven remained floating in the air and sighed.

This couldn’t end well.

“Ahh, that stupid boy!”

Jinx stewed in her anger, pink eyes flaring with her volatile emotions. Stupid Kid Flash! Did he really not understand just how not right it was for someone, who already had a girlfriend, to be flirting with every single pretty girl he came across? Could he really not see just how wrong that was? She had caught him for the umpteenth time and instead of yelling at him, she had decided it would be better to just walk away from it.

She had already tried talking to him, but Kid Flash was obviously not going to listen to reason. He didn’t even take her words seriously, laughing cheerfully and saying she was just over-thinking things before zipping away. That or he’d apologize, melting her anger away with a kiss on the cheek.

...she was such a sap.

Ugh, maybe he really didn’t care all that much about her... maybe she was just another pretty face for him to stick with for a few weeks before he switched it up with another girl. Other than when they had first met, he didn’t really compliment her other than the normal boyfriend duties.

Ignoring the hurt, Jinx inhaled deeply before heading to the gym. Maybe a little workout was needed for her to clear her mind. Normally the gymnasium was empty around this time and she liked how spacious the place was, giving her enough room to do as many flips as she wanted. Unfortunately, the thought turned sour when she saw boy blunder spinning around. She made a u-turn to leave when her day got even worse.

“Jinx?”

She cringed and turned around. “Hey bird brain.”

Robin scowled. “Do you have to call me names all the time?”

“Think of a nickname for me too then, I won’t complain.”

“Alright then, Jinxie,” he said, smirking when she scowled at him.

“You do know Kid Flash calls me that too, right? It’s disturbing if you use the same endearment as my boyfriend, no matter how much the name annoys me.” She said looking disgusted, though internally she winced at the last line. Boyfriend? Yeah, sometimes she wondered about that.

Robin turned a bit green. “Ugh, I think I’m going to hurl. I can’t believe you actually implied that I gave you a term of endearment.”

“Get over it, boy blunder. I hate the thought as much as you do.”

Robin groaned. More nicknames? She never seemed to run out! But wait, if endearment terms made her feel sick... his revulsion turned into a smirk. “Is that all you got, darling?”

Jinx stiffened before she glared at him with unrestrained anger, her eyes glowing pink with rage. “What did you call me?”

“Don’t get so mad, sweetie. After all, we’re already calling each other by pet names.”

“Mine are hateful names!” Jinx snapped, taking a step back with a look of horror on her face. She could practically feel her skin crawling at hearing him calling her that. “Yours... Yours are just plain creepy!”

“What’s wrong, honey?” Robin drawled coolly, leaning against the pommel horse he had been using before Jinx had come in. Now this was a nice change of events. She always ruffled him the wrong way, but for once, it was the other way around. “Can’t take the heat?”

“You’re the one who should watch yourself, funny boy,” she cracked her fingers. Perfect, she had a legal reason to vent her stress and what made it even better was that her punching bag was the pain in the ass Robin.

“Bring it, darling.” He said, raising his arms up as well. Oh good, a spar. He had been getting tired practicing by himself anyways.

“Oh you are so going to pay.” Jinx spoke lowly before the two began to circle each other. When it came to hand-to-hand, Robin definitely had her beat. However, she wasn’t some pushover and her powers were really handy when it came to beating up smart-mouthed birds.

Robin was the first to react, shooting out three batarangs at her. She leaped out of the way, jumping up high and coming down fast with a kick. He caught her by the ankle and spun, throwing her into the wall. Jinx went with the momentum, rolling on the ground until she had her feet pressed against the wall. She launched from it, flying towards Robin fast until a flurry of punches and kicks were exchanged.

“What’s wrong, sweet cheeks, is that all you got?” Robin taunted when the two broke apart, both out of breath but still gearing to go.

Jinx narrowed her glowing eyes. “Eat shit, you little porcupine!”

Robin spun in the air, avoiding the sparks of her hexes when he lunged down from the ceiling to kick her. Jinx leaped to the side, her eyes ablaze as she used her bad-luck to make him lose his footing on the ground. Robin’s foot slipped and he fell onto his back hard. He groaned, the back of his head having hit the ground really hard.

A shadow slowly descended upon him as Jinx sauntered towards him with her hands on her hips. She gave him a cocky victorious smirk that had his blood boiling. “That the best you got, Roby-poo?”

He glared at her before smirking, his leg shooting out and hooking behind her ankle. It sent Jinx careening backwards with a shriek until she was slammed down onto the floor as well. Before she could recover, Robin rolled on top of her, pinning her wrists down on top of her head as he straddled her wrist. He leaned close, whispering tauntingly over her lips. “Not even close, darling.”

Ooh, she was going to kill him.

And of course, it was then that the door to the gymnasium opened. “Hey Robin, I got the files that you wanted... what are you two doing?”

Jinx groaned. It just had to be Cyborg who caught them in a compromising position. At least it wasn’t Beast Boy. She waited, expecting Robin to get off of her quickly as though he had been touching something disgusting, when, to her surprise and mortification, he continued to sit on her. There was a vengeful smirk on his face and Jinx felt chills run down her spine.

Great, what was the idiot up to?

“Nothing, just teaching darling here a little lesson.” He said cockily.

Cyborg’s eyes bugged out while Jinx’s body quaked with anger. “Stop calling me with those stupid names!”

“I won the spar so I think I have the right to call you whatever I want,” Robin said with a sneer, “sweetie.”

“Don’t make me hex you to the next dimension, bird boy,” Jinx threatened, struggling to get out of Robin’s grip. She was strong, but he was a lot stronger than her... and apparently he had a strong pain tolerance as well since his hands were sizzling from where pink sparks were flaring on where he was holding onto. That or his gloves were giving him a little protection. “Believe me, it won’t be pretty.”

“I’m quaking in my boots.”

“Uh... hello? Love-birds, I’m still here you know!” Cyborg said waving his hand in the air to catch their attention.

Pink and masked eyes were now the ones bugged out. The two separated each other faster someone with super-speed could, both crawling backwards before they realized the cause of their disgust. Two pairs of enraged eyes turned to Cyborg who took a fearful step backwards.

“Love-birds? Are you kidding me?” Robin roared.

“That is the nastiest thing I’ve ever heard in my life and I’ve lived with the HIVE!”

“The mere implication is enough to make me hurl! How could you say something like that? As if I would ever go for someone like her of all people.”

Jinx groaned. “Believe me, I don’t see how anyone would find someone who always looks as though he sticks a fork in the outlet every morning attractive!”

“At least my hair looks normal compared to yours, sweetie,” Robin said through gritted teeth, running his hand self-consciously through his hair.

“Of course, my entire existence is abnormal! What’s wrong with my hair being the same?” Jinx rolled her eyes, completely unbothered by his comment. She had heard enough of that growing up that it didn’t bother her as much as it could have. That didn’t mean it was any less annoying though. The horns were stylish, damn it! ...and maybe they also reminded her of a horse-shoe placed upright for good luck...

“That-That, I didn’t mean that you weren’t normal or anything!” Robin sputtered. Having grown up surrounded by people who were ‘different’ than others, he had gotten sensitive to words that might imply that those people were somehow freaks.

Jinx’s eyes widened in surprise at the sudden change of his tone before she scowled darkly, stupid heroes and their sentimentality. She spoke moodily, self-consciously crossing her arms. “I never said you were, blunderboy.”

The nickname immediately snapped him out of his guilt and he scowled. “Back to pet names, darling?”

“Only for you, Roby-poo,” she sneered while mockingly blowing a kiss at him, strolling off towards the door that led out of the gymnasium. Jinx left behind a Robin who was practically sizzling with his own anger.

Cyborg looked at Robin, then at where Jinx left, before he looked back at Robin again. “Is there something you want to tell me, Roby-poo?”

“This incident will never be spoken of again... ever.”

“Roger that.” Cyborg grinned ear to ear. “Roby-poo.”

Teacher's Pet: Part 3

Must. Not. Kill. School. Vice-Principal.

Those were the five words Jinx had been chanting like a mantra in her head for the last thirty minutes. One-on-one school conference? He was the vice-principal, not the twin’s teachers! What could Mr. Perve possibly say to her?

Pfft, nothing. They had been sitting in his tiny office for the last thirty minutes talking about absolutely nothing and she couldn’t get away because that was rude and would cause all sorts of unnecessary tension.

Sigh...

She was taken out of her thoughts when her hand, which had been drumming the fingers quietly on the table, was suddenly covered by his larger one. Jinx internally twitched. Not this again.

“-best for the twins, Mrs. West. What say we have this meeting every week?”

There were over two hundred ways to kill him that she could think of at the top of her head, three hundred if she added torture methods. But she only listed them one by one mentally in her head to soothe her inner beast. Jinx wanted her kids to lead a quiet, peaceful school life, some place they could have fun and learn with the other kids. And if it meant going through a little discomfort, then fine. At least Mr. Perve wasn’t taking it too far... like suddenly coming around from behind his desk to sit next to her very, very close as he was doing now.

“Mr. Perve, aren’t you sitting a little too close to me?” Jinx asked flatly, wondering if this was when she could punch him on the nose without getting arrested for assault. Hm... maybe she could get away with it for self-defense because he was sexually harassing her. Okay, so he hasn’t gone that far yet, but she could fib, right? She had friends in high places so that would help her case, right?

...riiight, abusing her power and connections, whoopee. She would just make herself as bad as those evil businesses who misused their powers.

Sigh.

“Whatever do you mean?” he inquired smoothly, watching carefully for signs that her will was breaking. He had noticed her growing weary of his advances and it wouldn’t be long until she slipped. And when he did... he would strike.

She gritted her teeth. “Our knees are touching.”

“Yes,” Mr. Perve drawled out, “they are.”

Okay, that’s it. Her patience, one that she used on the mentally and physically abused meta-human children who threw lethal temper-tantrums, was at its breaking point. The hologram keeping up her image was threatening to waver as she felt her powers trying to leap out of her skin. “Listen here, you-.”

The door to the office knocked.

“Not now, we’re busy.” Mr. Perve barked, keeping his eyes on Jinx. The fire in her eyes was breath-taking. This woman was most likely a wild-cat in bed and he couldn’t wait to get a sample of it.

“The hell we are,” Jinx hissed under her breath.

The knocking grew louder.

“Busy.” He snapped.

Jinx’s cell phone rang and she thanked the high-heavens for the fact that she was very involved with her school. It meant she was often busy and called upon for back-up whenever something explosive happened. She pulled it out and arched an eyebrow when she saw that it was actually Nightwing sending her a text with his alias. Since she wasn’t an active member of the Titans, he rarely contacted her.

“Whoops, got to run, Mr. Perve. It was nice having this meeting.” She said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “But duty calls.”

“Of course, of course,” he said with the disappointment clear in his eyes. Still, he caught her hand before she could escape and Jinx internally groaned. Man was this guy persistent or what? “We can continue this later tonight if you wish. Maybe over dinner? I know this-.”

“That sounds nice, Mr. Perve, but the twin’s father is here,” take the hint, you stupid pervert! Take the stupid hint and eat it already! Digest it! Absorb it! Become one with it! “And we have plans to spend time together as a family.”

“Is that so,” he said with a pout and tugged at her hand, obviously wanting to pull her down onto his lap. Instead, giving into temptation, Jinx let out a small hex to cause static shock to run into his hand. He yelped and let go quickly, shaking his hand to lower the pain. Mr. Perve looked at his hand in shock and then at her.

“Again, this was a wonderful meeting,” she said sarcastically, “but I really must go. Have a nice day Mr. Perve.”

This time Jinx ran before he could get a hold of her again. Ugh, now she had to sanitize her wrist and the part of her clothes that touched him. Actually, burning it sounded like a better plan right about now. Buried in her thoughts on the various ways she could literally pick the stupid pervert apart, Jinx didn’t notice the tall red haired man sitting on one of the chairs in the waiting room as she rushed out of the office.

Once she was out of the school and in her car, she pulled out her phone and called the T-Tower. “You rang?”

“Yeah, just wanted to see how you were doing.” She heard Nightwing answer distractedly. The rustling papers gave away that he was in his office hard at work.

“...Dick, you do know that you never call me just to see how I’m doing. And I never do either with you.” Jinx said bluntly with a frown. “Tell me the truth, what’s going on?”

“Nothing, can’t an old friend call another to see how they’re doing without being interrogated like they’re at the Spanish Inquisition? You don’t complain when Starfire or Cyborg calls you. Heck, if I remember correctly, you and Raven went to the café that opened in the city and Beast Boy was at your school recently to help with the students. And-.”

“You’re rambling, which you tend to do when it’s not work-related but still something you were forced to do and since you were forced into it, you don’t care enough to put proper thought into it.” By now Jinx was comfortably leaning in her seat, looking at her nails uninterestedly. “Spill it boy blunder, what’s going on?”

“I’m not a boy anymore, Jinx.” Nightwing said, sounding annoyed.

“Sure act like one sometimes.” She said, grinning when she could hear his teeth grinding. Jinx knew she was one of the select few who had the beautiful ability of getting under Nightwing’s skin. It was nice to know she still had it in her. “Gotcha.”

There was a pause of silence and a sigh. “Look, you and I have our differences, but we do know how to get along and I’m sure we... care... for each other to some level.”

“Sure we do. You sounded like a cat coughing out a furball when you said the word ‘care’ and now I feel goosebumps running down my skin.” Jinx mocked lightheartedly with a chuckle. The two bantered and annoyed the hell out of each other, but underneath it all, they did understand each other to some point. No one else needed to know that though. They were better off believing Jinx and Nightwing hated each other with every atom of their being.

“Yeah, yeah,” he replied in a good-naturedly annoyed way. “Anyways, I’ve been hearing stuff.”

“About the school?” she asked seriously, wondering what other sort of evil power wanted to steal her students to make them do evil bidding. Or maybe it was the Justice League wanting to use some of the kid’s powers again, not that she’d ever allow it. They were much too young to get involved with something so dangerous.

“Well... it involves a school.”

Jinx mulled over her words, but shook it away. Nope, there was no way Nightwing could have heard about Mr. Perve. Where would his source be anyways? He hadn’t seen the twins for a while and... wait... “Ugh, Wally. You two met up this morning, didn’t you?”

“Nothing wrong with an old friend-.”

“Yeah, yeah, old friend meet old friend and talk war stories.” She brushed away. “Dick, if you don’t tell me what’s going on right now, I’m calling Starfire and saying you’re overworking again and that you two should have a nice relaxing time off playing with the students at my school for the next few days. ”

“You wouldn’t!” Nightwing said in horror. Starfire was much more durable than him and didn’t have too much trouble dealing with the meta-human children, but Nightwing wasn’t built like her. When a child who could turn his limbs into stone tries to hit you with his full strength and he actually succeeds, that shit hurt!

“I would.” Jinx said, her eyes glimmering with amusement. Ah yes, tormenting Nightwing did have that therapeutic side-effect of making her feel relaxed. “So spill it bird brain.”

“......Wally might have gotten a little concerned over the fact that the VP at the twin’s school has been trying to get a little handsy with you.” Jinx could practically hear the frown in his tone. “And you should have reported that the moment that happened. Sexually harassment isn’t something you should take lightly.”

Jinx rolled her eyes. “Of course it isn’t, he just hasn’t done anything yet that merited getting too cranked up about this. My stress levels might have sky-rocketed, but unfortunately, if I report him for something frivolous, he could easily turn it around and make things complicated.”

“What, are you saying that you’re not going to do a thing until he has you pinned down on a table or something?” he demanded incredulously. “Jinx, you’ve got to be kidding me!”

It was kind of amusing how Nightwing was more aggravated over this situation than she was. And a little cute. It was always fun ruffling Nightwing’s feathers. She chuckled, leaning against the phone as she rested her elbow on the car door. “I can handle myself, Dick.”

“Yeah, but I would feel a lot better if you’d just punch his lights out already.” He grumbled.

“Oh? And here I thought you’d have a lecture waiting for me about how I shouldn’t go around punching pervs like him. I could already hear your annoying voice telling me how I should have filed a report instead of resorting to physical violence.” She said with a droll grin. “You’re losing your edge, Dick.”

“Never,” and this time, Jinx knew he was smirking, a fact that made her narrow her eyes. “I think you’re the one losing your touch, Jinxie, since I succeeded in distracting you for almost five minutes. If this was a few years ago, you would have caught on much sooner.”

“......shit bird brain, don’t tell me Wally’s in there with Mr. Perve right now?” she hissed, almost breaking the car door as she shoved it open.

“Maybe he is, maybe he isn’t.” Nightwing mocked.

“I can take care of myself, Dick.” Jinx all but snarled.

“Ah, I thought we had already gone over the problems about a married woman trying to be too independent.”

“Oh shut up, and just for that, I’m calling Starfire later.” Jinx said snippily and ignored his shouts of protesting, disconnecting her cell. She rushed up the stairs and into the school, almost skidding on the marble floors as she came to a stop right in front of the vice-principal’s office.

Dread filled her as to what awaited her in there. Wally was the reasonable one, right? Yeah, she was the crazy one. He wouldn’t do something utterly insane like-like give the VP a mental breakdown, right?

...ugh, she had to stop trying to kid herself like this. Wally was as protective as she was when it came to others infringing on their ‘territory’... even after years of marriage. She sighed and opened the door and was glad that the VP secretary was out. That just left the ominous door that led to the VP’s actual office.

She stiffened when the door to the office opened and a familiar tuff of red hair popped into her line of vision. There was a harsh scowl on his handsome face and Jinx stood there, contemplating on what to do next. The dark vibe he was giving off was unsettling since Wally was rarely in a bad mood. In the end, she settled with an amused chuckle and walked up to him.

“Wally,” she greeted, her hands on her hips with an unimpressed arched eyebrow. “What ever could you be doing here?”

“Caught on, have you?” he inquired smoothly, hugging Jinx as she walked into his arms. He walked forward while holding her since he knew she was trying to take a peek behind him. With the back of his foot, he slammed the door to the office shut. “C’mon, let’s get out of here. The VP gave permission for us to take the kids out early today.”

“Oh really,” Jinx drawled. “That is a mighty fine habit we’re getting the twins into, teaching them that it’s okay to leave school early like this.”

“Unless you want to go home with just the two of us,” his arm was around her shoulders while Jinx had both of hers wound around his chest, the two walking quietly down the school hallway. “I have no complaints about that either.”

“Mhm, but first things first,” Jinx’s soft tone turned sharp. “What did you do to Mr. Perve?”

“Jinx,” he groaned. “Do we really have to talk about this here of all places?”

“Fine, use your speed to get us to the apartment and we can talk about it there.”

“...will talking involve make-up sex afterwa-oomph!” she hit him in the stomach and he winced. “Hey, I’m upset about this too.”

“I was handling it,” she grumbled.

“Yeah, by letting him get his hands all over you.” Wally grumbled himself.

At that, she pulled away from him, obviously incensed. “He did not have his hands all over me. Do you have any idea how many times I wanted to hex him to oblivion? Ugh, just the thought of him touching me makes my skin crawl. But still, I was fine on my own. I-.”

“Argh, Jinx, that’s the thing, you don’t have to do this alone! I-,” he hesitated and looked around, knowing that their voices were probably echoing in this empty hall. With a scowl, he picked her up without warning and zipped out of the school.

Jinx’s eyes were shut at the sudden wind slapping her in the face and by the time she had opened them, they were no longer in the school. In fact, they were at the apartment as she had previous requested they do so. When Wally stopped running, Jinx squirmed out of his arms, but he wasn’t having any of that. Instead, he ripped off the holographic generator necklace on her neck and tossed her over his shoulder. Jinx let out an indignant cry, the brown hair flashing back to pink along with the green turning back to her cat-like pink eyes.

“Ooh, West, you are not currently holding me like a stupid caveman.” Jinx squirmed in his hold, but he wasn’t relenting. She could probably hex him to let her go, but she wasn’t overly fond of hurting him. Instead she slumped over his shoulder until he unceremoniously dumped her on their bed.

Maybe she was being childish, but she refused to look him in the eye. Even when he crawled on top of her, knitting their fingers together beside her head, she kept her eyes shifted. He splayed kisses all over her face before resting his head against her collarbone, his body sagging a little as he sighed. “You know when we got married, we swore we would do everything as a team together.”

“...oh god, not this corny speech.”

He ignored her sass. “I know I’m not around as much as I should be because of the League-.”

“And that’s alright. I’m holding the fort here so you don’t need to worry,” Jinx said, looking up almost imploringly. There was no need for him to worry about anything. She had everything taken care of so all he needed to do was relax and just be himself at home.

“But I want to worry with you Jinx. I want you to share your problems with me.”

“I rant to you almost every day about the school,” she said with her eyebrows knitting together. In fact, she had often wondered if she ranted a little too much about it.

“And I love every single minute of it. Do you get tired when I complain about how Shayera and John should just get together already? Or when Luther tries to do something stupid for the millionth time?”

“Well... not really...” honestly, she enjoyed listening to him unwind about the day’s trouble. It made her feel connected to him and it was nice that he trusted her with these sorts of thoughts.

“So tell me more than just the school and the kids. Tell me what’s bothering you or if there’s someone bothering you,” Wally emphasized the lateral strongly, the unhappy scowl returning at the memory. “Especially if it’s a someone.”

“Well,” she began with a small smile, fluttering her eyes coyly. “There is that annoying government official who always comes to visit the school on ‘official’ matters when it’s obvious that’s hardly the case. And that idiot sponsor for the school who’d always try to visit even to our home because he wanted a more... personal, in-depth presentation of the inner-workings of the school... Oh yeah, there’s-.”

“Jeez Jinx, a little popular too much?” he slumped down next to her before he pulled her on top of him, his arms keeping her snuggly against him. He really loved the feel of her soft luscious curves pressed against him like this and he began to stroke her spine almost unconsciously.

“What can I say? I have the same magnetic personality as my husband.” she said with a grin, leaning down to kiss him in the corner of his mouth, enjoying how his muscles tightened as he tried to restrain himself from pulling her back down to kiss the life out of her. “What about you? Do I have to make a visit to the Watchtower anytime soon to throw you over my shoulder and slap your butt possessively, declaring that you’re mine to all the bitches up there?”

Wally snorted at the imagery. “Well there is that one woman, Fire, she-.”

“Got it, next time you leave, I’m coming with you.” Jinx said firmly with a scowl. Like hell she’ll let him stay up in that spacecraft when there was another woman who looked at him in ways she shouldn’t be! Hell with Wally’s charming personality and his... ahem... form-fitting uniform, there were probably more women drooling after him!

“And you thought I over-react when others flirt with you.” He said with a chuckle before pecking her lips. “But no worries, you’re the only one I want babe.”

She smiled softly at him. “And you’re the only one I’ll have.”

“By the way, what did you do to Mr. Perve?” Jinx inquired curiously.

Wally chuckled. “Let’s just say I can’t see him trying to pull any moves on any woman in the near or long future. That and the vice principals office is going to have to undergo some repairs for a while.”

“Daddy!” twin voices squealed, leaping at the broad shouldered man who entered through the doors of their home. Wally laughed, easily catching and picking the two up his arms.

“How have my two speedsters been doing?”

“It’s been awesome! We’re going to school now! And it’s nothing like mommy’s school!” Iris chirped excitedly. “I’m training to control my running so I don’t acci...acci...”

“Accidentally?” Wally supplied.

“Yeah! Accidentally run too fast! Mommy said if I keep practicing, I might beat daddy someday.”

“Not if I beat Daddy first,” Jai said, sticking his tongue out to his sister.

“Alright kids, as you evilly plot together in beating your dad, how about we go find your mom?” Wally asked and was about to head on over to backyard when he noticed that the kids at fallen silent. Confused by their reactions, he jostled them lightly in his arms. “What’s wrong, you two? Is your mom okay?”

“Nothing,” Jai said hesitantly. “Mommy’s just... doing it again.”

“Doing what?”

“Cooking! Baking! She’s been making so much food all by herself!” Iris said, on the other hand, replied excitedly. And at that, Wally made a u-turn from going towards the backyard to the kitchen... where he indeed smelled delicious aromas coming into his senses.

“But doesn’t mommy do that when she doesn’t feel good?” at Jai’s reasoning, Iris fell silent.

She looked at Wally forlornly. “Is mommy sad?”

“Is... Is mommy still angry about us pushing her on top of Mr. Perve?” Jai asked in horror, but Iris shook her head quickly.

“Nu-uh, mommy told us that she wasn’t angry and you know mommy doesn’t lie. Unless,” Iris gasped in shock. “Is Mr. Perve an evil man who is using his evil powers to make mommy sad?”

“Iris, you shouldn’t say bad stuff about other people like that.” Wally admonished, though his interest was piqued. Who was Mr. Perve? One of their teachers? ...and Jinx landed on top of him because of the kids?

“B-But mommy started acting funny after we acc-accidentally pushed her into Mr. Perve!” Iris protested, unhappy at the light scolding. She wasn’t lying! Mr. Perve must be evil since mommy stared baking and cooking after she had fallen on top of him. “And Mr. Perve is weird too, always trying to hug mommy.”

At this, Wally stiffened. “What was that?”

“Mr. Perve always tries to put his arm around mommy like daddy does when we’re with everyone.” Jai added enthusiastically when he realized that this particular topic had gotten their father’s attention.

“Oh really,” Wally murmured, narrowing his eyes. He entered into the kitchen and saw Jinx distractedly running around with a large amount of food filling the large dining table and the kitchen countertops. She had to have been up since early in the morning to have cooked up this much food. Ever since she had started living with him in their teen, she had gotten into the habit of cooking since he ate a lot due to his abilities. The habit grew stronger after she had the kids who ate just as much as him and that appetite would probably grow as they grew older. And now, it was something she did as a mindless distraction whenever she had something preoccupying her mind. “Hey Jinx-.”

There was a loud cry of surprise as she almost threw her wooden spoon at him. He arched an eyebrow at how disarrayed she look, her pink hair un-brushed and all over the place. This wasn’t the cool confident woman he had left two weeks ago.

And apparently this Mr. Perve was the cause, a thought that darkened his thoughts again.

“Wally,” she dropped the spoon into the pot and walked up to him with her arms spread, hugging him and the kids together. The loves of her life were all together. What more could she ask for? Jinx kissed him on the cheek. “When did you get back?”

“About now,” Wally said, lowering the kids who ran up to indulge on the food. It wouldn’t be long until the majority of it was all gone. “Hey, we need to talk.”

“Hm, about what?” Jinx said distractedly, opening the oven to see how the chicken was doing.

“About this Mr. Perve.” He was cut off by a sharp hiss and he zipped up right beside her in concern. Jinx had her thumb in her mouth, having burnt it on the hot oven. “Jeez Jinxie, you’re a mess.”

“Tell me about it,” she mumbled, letting him guide her to the sink where he tried to help soothe the burn. “What about Mr. Perve?”

“Um... this might sound random, but has he been...?”

“Trying to touch me inappropriately? Trying to think of ways to get me alone, in or out of that school?” Jinx rolled her eyes, too distracted by her own turmoil to realize that Wally was getting tenser with each word. “Please, let’s not talk about that perv. Now that I think about it, his name is very appropriate. I swear, he-ow! Wally, can you hold my hand a little more tighter?”

“Huh?” jostled out of his thoughts, he quickly loosening his grip. “Oh sorry.”

She stopped her rant and gazed up at him. Wally was staring down at her hand where the water was still flowing out, a terse frown on his face. Her eyes softened and with a small giggle, she lifted her face and kissed him gently on the cheek. “Aw, are you worried that I’ll go astray? I thought we went over this when we were in our teens. You’re the one for me.”

“I know that,” he mumbled. “That’s not what I’m wo-.”

“Don’t worry, I’m also keeping myself in control... though god knows he deserves a good whack in the face. Several whacks in fact.” Jinx said with a fierce scowl. That had been the main reason why she was so frazzled. All that pent up stress was not good for her mind. If she had time for a spar, maybe she would be more relaxed, but with taking care of the kids at the school, maintaining the school, and taking care of her own two children, she had absolutely no time for herself.

“Yeah, I know, but-.” Wally was cut off again when he felt a tug at his pants. Summoning all his patience, he looked down and saw Jai holding up a chicken wing.

“Want some? It’s really good!”

“Not now Jai, I’m-.”

“No, go have fun with the kids. I’m sure they missed you a lot.” Jinx said reassuringly, turning the sink faucet off. She then grabbed the back of his neck, tugging him closer to whisper into his ear. “Because I am definitely going to have a lot of fun with you tonight.”

The deep glower that had been on Wally’s face faded at the thought and he leaned closer, a playful smile on his lips as he kissed her neck gently. “Can’t wait.”

Summary: Part of the Drabble Series. What happens when you combine Jinx and the unwanted advances of a very touchy vice-principle of her children's school? Part 1!

I don't own Teen Titans and while I would have liked to have more development between Kid Flash and Jinx, I'm glad they're technically a canon couple and even got to kiss in the comics! 8D

Please forgive any mistakes, both character-wise and grammatically-wise. I don't have time to re-read or edit things.

“Mommy!” Iris squealed as she launched herself towards her mother. Jinx caught her, spinning around so that she wouldn’t become winded by the full brunt of the mini-speedster who ran almost at full power at her. With a chuckle, Jinx lifted her up and hugged her. “I missed you!”

“I missed you too,” Jinx said as she placed her down, reaching up to pick up Jai who had appeared immediately after Iris, but was patiently waiting for his hug. Since he was such a good boy and waiting quietly, Jinx lifted him up higher before dropping him down for a tight hug. “How was your first day of school?”

“It was awesome!” Jai immediately yelled as Jinx placed him on the side of her hip. “They have so many fun games here and the kids are really nice.”

“But I like it better at your school, mommy,” Iris said with a pout. “We can run as fast as we want there.”

“That’s true,” Jinx said, ruffling her daughter’s hair. “But think of this as practice in controlling your powers. I bet your father will be very impressed by how you’re able to control your speed once he’s back from work.”

At this, Iris perked up. “Yeah, that’s true! I bet I can even beat him if I practice controlling how fast I can run!”

“That’s my girl,” Jinx praised before ruffling Jai’s hair, knowing he was sporting a pout now. “And I’m sure you are also working very hard not to run at full speed when you’re with the other kids, my little man. Who knows, maybe after your sister beats daddy dearest, you’ll end up beating her.”

“Hey!” Iris said, her pout returning. “Jai would so not beat me!”

“Oh, is that a challenge I hear?” Jinx’s eyes twinkled playfully and she jiggled Jai against her hip. “What do you say, Jai? Up for a little friendly race with your sister?”

He grinned widely at Iris. “You’re going down!”

“Bring it!”

Jinx lowered the two kids and the two immediately went flying off to school field. Fortunately, it was empty since school had ended a while ago. Besides, even as kids, they were still pretty fast. Most people would just assume a sharp breeze was going by.

“Excuse me, Mrs. West?”

The smooth stealth of the man behind her took Jinx by surprise and without warning, she slammed her elbow into his stomach. Moving by instinct, she spun with her hand right about to grab him by the face and shove him into the ground when she saw the familiar blonde hair and pain-filled hazel eyes. Her eyes widened and she gasped in mortification.

“Mr. Perve!” Jinx squeaked, reaching out to help over the doubled-over man. “I’m so sorry! You-You startled me.”

Oh great, her children’s first day of school and she almost knocked out their vice-principal. Wally was sure going to get a kick out of this once he heard about it. In fact, she wasn’t going to hear the end of it.

“I-It’s fine,” he choked, trying to catch his breath. “Glad to know... you’re able to... take care of yourself.”

“Well I try,” she said with a cringe, helping Mr. Perve stand up. “I’m sorry, it’s just when people take me by surprise, I kind of move without thinking.”

“I’m fine, don’t worry about it,” he said with a poorly concealed wince. Mr. Perve rubbed his sore stomach while internally wondering what sort of lethal martial arts class Mrs. West attended. “So where are the kids?”

“Playing in the field,” she said, nodding towards the field where she knew the two were zipping around without inhibition.

Mr. Perve would have looked at what looked like an empty field in confusion if not for the fact that his eyes were still on Mrs. West. When he had first laid eyes on her when she had arrived at the school with the twins to have a look around, he thought his heart had been blown away. Such a beauty with a lithe figure, with that long brown hair that cascaded down her shoulders and those mesmerizing forest green eyes that just sucked him in.

...the only problem was that annoying ring around her finger, but that was a problem easily rectified. He had a way with the ladies, especially the married ones. It was just too easy to get them to sway from commitment, particularly when the husbands were away often. And he knew for a fact that Mr. West was never around.

With darkened eyes, he reached over and placed a hand on Jinx’s shoulder. “Well then, while the kids are playing, how about I give you a more in depth tour of the school?”

Jinx glanced at the hand on her shoulder and internally arched an eyebrow. “Um, that’s alright. I already had a good look of the school from before.”

Of course, she had inspected every nook and cranny to make sure this place was safe for her children. Not to mention, she had thoroughly investigated their curriculum and staff. They were all clean. Nightwing, aka the grown version of Robin, had also looked into things for her. Though he had recommended a private school, she and Wally had decided that a public school would probably be better for the kids socially.

“But I insist,” Mr. Perve said smoothly, his hand trailing from her shoulder until he had it around wrapped around her in a loose grip that had her pressed close to him. “Come this way.”

Jinx was now openly gawking at him. No way. He had to be kidding her. He was not... no... nope, she was over thinking this. Yup, that was probably it. She had been so cooped up at her school surrounded by other kids that she was just thinking too deeply into this.

Not to mention, this was the vice principal for the school her children were attending! The reports showed that he was a decent man. She and Robin didn’t dig too deeply into his personal life other than that.

Yup, so this was all in her head. She hadn’t been involved in the... uh... romantic scene outside her marriage for so long that she was being delusional.

...oh who was she kidding? She may not be active when it came to looking for a boyfriend or whatever since she didn’t need one, but she did still do the occasional recon mission where she needed to flirt with people. And goodness, she knew the signs. She grew up with those types of signs thrown her way and her throwing it back.

“...mhm, yeah, sorry Mr. Perve, but the kids and I have to get home. Their father,” she emphasized the word dramatically, “is going to get home soon from his business trip. Wouldn’t want to miss the big return.”

“Is that so?” Mr. Perve said lightly, his arm still wound around her. He leaned in close and with his arm trapping her against him, she couldn’t move as his face came closer to hers in a very much inappropriate distance. “Does Mr. West leave frequently on these business trips?”

It was a double-edged question and they both knew it. If she said yes, it was like giving him the green light to come on to her. If she said no, well, it would be obvious she was lying since Wally did leave a lot for his job with the Justice League. So either way, he would continue to flirt with her until he got her defenses down.

Fortunately, she was saved from having to answer his question as she felt Iris and Jai barrel into her from behind. Literally. She almost fell forward if not for the fact, ironically enough, that Mr. Perve’s arm was around her. The two adults yelped out in surprise and fell forward, but he pulled her back so that he ended up with the brunt of the fall. Jinx fell, landing on top of him with her hands on her chest.

Oh shit...

Ooooh shit...

She scrambled off of him, looking as though she had digested something inedible and it was threatening to come back out. Oh gross. Gross. Gross. Gross. This was bad. Had she really thought it was fortunate she didn’t have to answer his question? She took that back, totally took that back. She would rather answer that question a thousand times than what just happened.

“Okay,” Jinx said awkwardly, brushing the grass of her clothes. “Sorry about that Mr. Perve. Jai and Iris just love to run,” she gave them an admonishing look and the two looked away with playful grins, “and they have a tendency to run into people like that, a habit,” she gave them another look, “I hope they’ll learn to grow out of.”

“Its fine, I don’t mind at all.” He... purred? Oh goodness, she was just imagining things. This man was not purring at her.

Ugh...

“Okay kids, time to go.” She grabbed Iris and Jai by the hands and walked in a pace that could easily rival their run. “It was nice talking to you Mr. Perve. Got to run!”

Jinx figuratively ran for the hills.

And she felt no shame.

No shame at all.

AU: The holographic generator technology simply covers her hair, eyes, and skin color. I was contemplating about turning her into Linda Park, but decided against it. The Teen Titans cartoon is obviously an AU, so I see no reason to go with the flow of the comic book other than most stuff. Think of this as an AU where he just ends up with a different girl, but Wally’s life is similar to the actual comic. :)

“Ooh, my aching head,” Starfire moaned, clutching onto her pounding skull as she sat up. A startled gasp came upon her when she realized there was a goat chewing on her boot. “Oh, excuse me, please don’t eat my shoe! I still need it!”

“Starfire, stop yelling,” Raven snarled from a ways from the alien princess. The dark sorceress was rubbing the sides of her temples with her fingers. “What happened last night?”

“Finally awake, princesses?” a snarky female voice inquired in a sweet voice dripping with poison. Two sets of eyes turn to see an all too familiar pink haired Titan with her arms crossed, her fingers drumming across her arm.

“Friend Jinx, what has happened to our home?” Starfire weakly floated up to her, motioning towards the Titan living room that was in complete disarray. Trash was everywhere with pieces of food stuck even on the ceiling. The goat that had been attempting to make a meal out of Starfire’s shoe wasn’t the only animal around as there were also chickens and even a cow sauntering from room to room.

“Someone spiked the punch last night and you all went crazy,” Jinx scowled. Of course heroes would be lightweights when it came to alcohol.

Starfire then gasped sharply. “Robin!”

Raven opened one eye to see Starfire zipped across the room where a pile of junk laid. A single leg was sticking out from it, a leg that wore the all too familiar green tights. Starfire clutched onto the leg and pulled with all her might, eventually succeeding as Robin came flying out of the pile. The two landed as a heap on the ground with Robin splayed on top of Starfire, his face pressed into the crook of her neck.

“Robin,” Starfire clutched onto him. “Are you alright?”

“Star...fire?” he groaned weakly.

Jinx rolled her eyes. “How you feeling, boy blunder?”

“Like Cyborg ran me over with his car again,” he groaned into Starfire’s neck. She felt so nice and comfy that he wrapped his arms around her head, clutching onto her red hair as he closed his eyes behind his mask, willing the headache to go away. “What happened?”

“Heroes suck at drinking.” Jinx said in deadpan. “Cyborg is probably at Gotham City by now since someone tried to replay the moment Gizmo strapped that rocket onto his back. Bumblebee flew after him, but with the amount of punch she drank, she might’ve fallen into the middle of the ocean. Aqualad had a pod of whales serenade the entire city, Speedy ran off,” with Cheshire into a dark alleyway, Jinx added mentally, “Mas y Menos are probably on the other side of the world, and I think some of the Titans might even be in jail right now.”

“What?” this caught Robin’s attention and he immediately lifted his head. Starfire internally pouted. The way Robin had been petting her had felt so nice.

“Yeah, might be Beast Boy. Somehow he got this bright idea of freeing the animals from the zoo or something. Aqualad might actually be in the slammer too because I think I heard something about the aquarium being destroyed.” Jinx mused, remembering hearing the breaking news of animals running amok.

Robin groaned and fell back on Starfire. She smiled and wrapped her arms around Robin comfortingly, this time giving the nice petting to him. “Do not despair, Robin. I am sure that our friends did not mean to cause trouble.”

“Tell that to the press,” he mumbled into her neck before he remembered something. Robin lifted his head up again, though he rested his chin on Starfire’s shoulder. He looked up at Jinx. “What happened to Kid Flash?”

As though that name was some key word, Jinx suddenly became rigid and her face turned so red that it might as well have been labeled a dark maroon or purple. “What about him?” she tried to say nonchalantly, failing miserably by how her lower lip trembled a little in her nervousness.

Raven’s lips curled in disgust. “Okay, where did you two do it so that I can stay as far away as possible from that place? Possibly exorcize or burn the room.”

A goat went flying towards Raven who ducked away. “We didn’t do that, you perv! He... He... just got a little drunk.”

“Jinx,” Kid Flash purred, pinning the squirming pinkette against the wall by her wrists, his body pressed intimately against hers. Being the stupid hungry speedster that he was, he must’ve drunk at least ten times more than the other Titans. There was a glimmer in his eyes that Jinx didn’t like, but no matter how hard she tried to push against him, he wasn’t budging.

“The only reason why I’m not hexing you to oblivion is because you’re dead drunk,” Jinx hissed.

“Aw, don’t be like that,” he whined, splaying soft kisses on her neck, ones he knew made her body quiver with delight. “You know I love you.”

She paused and then sighed. “Yeah, I-.”

“And I want to do very, very bad things to you.” Kid Flash whispered heatedly into her ear. At that, Jinx froze, her mind going blank.

...what did he just say?

Kid Flash took advantage of unresponsive state, moving to clasp her wrists together over her head so that his other hand would be free to roam her body. His hand trailed down her side in an almost ticklish touch, her breath hitching slightly when he trailed down the side of her full breasts, the curves of her hips, and the side of her butt before he hooked his hand underneath her leg, lifting it upward until it was wrapped around his waist.

“K-Kid Flash?” she stammered with wide pink eyes. Sure, they made out a lot and teased each other, but they had never ever gone all the way. It was obvious Kid Flash wanted to, but he held himself back for her sake since she wasn’t ready... but gah, don’t say that he was the type where alcohol took away all of his inhibitions?

Damn him for having to wear a skin-tight suit! Super-speed or not, it made her feel everything about him, every tightness of his muscles, the firmness of his body... and all of that combined with his very talented mouth was very distracting.

She gasped when she felt something hard prodding between her legs and whimpered when he rocked his hips against her. Electricity stormed up her veins and the flames that were ignited made her shudder with each thrust he made. The friction felt so good. It wasn’t long until her legs were wrapped around him by themselves, giving him the chance to run his hand underneath her shirt.

Her fingers messily clutched onto his flaming red hair, tugging at it so that he could pull back and give her a kiss. But for some reason, as though he wanted to punish her, he refused and teased her by laving her neck riddled with red welts. He listened to her soft wanton cries before in an agonizingly slow manner, pulled away, drinking in the sight of her dazed face, her downed hair messily draped over her shoulders. Her clothes were in disarray and her legs were tightly clutched around his waist, her small frame quivering with unfulfilled need.

Though his eyes darkened in a way that made Jinx’s heard pound harder, all he did was lean forward to place a sweet chaste kiss on her lips before his eyes closed and he slumped against her.

...falling asleep.

Idiot.

Jerk.

What the hell was that?

Drunk or not, what... what... what the hell?!

“Uh Jinx,” Robin’s voice piped up, intruding on her mental rampage. “You do know that with Kid Flash’s metabolism, he burns away all the alcohol before he can get drunk.”

Jinx stiffly turned her head towards him. “Excuse me?”

“Yeah, with his fast metabolism, it’s almost impossible for Kid Flash to get drunk. And last night’s dose shouldn’t be even close to affecting him.”

The world began to spin as she tried to digest his words. Kid Flash hadn’t been drunk that time? He had been aware of what was going on the entire time? He had done that on purpose? Was it to just tease her for keeping him waiting, to show what she was doing to him?

...is that why he pretended to fall asleep before he lost control of himself?

Okay, so maybe it was touching that he had enough self-control to hold himself down, but to almost give her a heart-attack by doing that to her...

“I’M GOING TO KILL YOU, KID FLASH!”

It was a well-known fact that Kid Flash was pretty protective of Jinx. Even though she didn’t need it, he’d go out of his way to watch her back and make sure there weren’t people trying to throw low blows at her. And don’t even start about the time she was sick. He had been at her beck and call even in the middle of a mission.

However, no one could compare to just how protective Jinx was of Kid Flash.

Yes, Jinx, the cold badass bitch who was considered selfish and cruel would always go out of her way to make sure Kid Flash was okay. So maybe she didn’t really bat an eye if a villain managed to throw him onto the ground or a wall... but when they almost claim his life, now that was a whole other ball game.

The HIVE Five knew Jinx well enough to make sure things didn’t go too far, but others... like Kitten... were still a bit on the naïve side.

Jinx was still selfish and cruel... just on the side of justice now.

She was selfish in that she was protecting Kid Flash because he was hers. Every inch of that delectable body and charming personality belonged to her. And Jinx didn’t like to share and she definitely didn’t appreciate it when others tried to break what was hers.

She was cruel in that she had no mercy towards whoever tried to mess with her.

Though her powers may seem more annoying than harmful, that was because she had a tendency to hold back. Killing was not part of her game... but mindlessly torturing them was another story.

Thus, the first time Jinx received a call from Robin saying that Kid Flash wouldn’t be returning to their apartment for the night because he was in the medical bay in Titan’s Tower, she had made her move.

“Haha,” Kitten’s shrill laugh hurt Jinx’s ears. “You should have seen the look on Kid Flash’s face when Daddy’s moth threatened to blow up the elementary school if he didn’t take the beating. Pfft, super speed isn’t enough when there’s over three hundred moths each holding a bomb hiding in different parts of the school.”

“So you took advantage of his heroism,” Jinx said with a nod. It was a standard method used by villains, to use the hero’s morals against them. “Brilliant.”

“Wasn’t it?” Kitten purred before she smirked at her. “So what are you doing here, turn-coat? Come to beg for my favor after seeing how badly I kicked Titan butt?”

Jinx tilted her head, a cold smile on her face. “...Kitten, how long have we known each other?”

“Four-five years,” Kitten narrowed her eyes in suspicion. “Why?”

“Remember that time when you were visiting the HIVE, you tried to take Gizmo’s little toys and ended up kicking him down the stairs?”

The reminder made Kitten shivered. After that, she had experienced several horrible experiences. It started off small with her hair-curler suddenly burning her hair off and then to the extreme like when she had somehow been caught in the middle of a freak accident involving three cars and a semi. Fortunately, she hadn’t been hurt too badly, but while at the hospital, Jinx had come to visit her and had handed her flowers while whispering kindly ‘What’s wrong? Having a little bad luck?’

“Yeah, what about that? I haven’t touched a... well... he doesn’t have any hair, but I haven’t touched any of your stupid ex-cronies since!” Kitten snapped defensively.

“It’s like you said, Kitten. I’m a traitor. I’m not with the HIVE or the Brotherhood or any villain anymore.” Jinx spoke slowly so that every word would register in the stupid girl’s empty head. “But that doesn’t mean I’ve completely changed. I don’t like it when people hurt what’s mine...,” Jinx’s entire body erupted with pink energy, “and news flash, you ditz, Kid Flash is mine.”

Kitten’s blood ran cold at the revelation. Her eyes widened and she began to stutter. “W-What?”

“Didn’t you hear the rumors floating?” Jinx taunted, taking a step forward, her eyes lighting up with power. “I had fallen madly in love with a sweet hero who swept me off my feet and now I’m an angelic heroine who fights for the side of justice. And guess who that hero is?”

“No way,” Kitten whispered before she began to shriek. “No way, no way, no way!”

“Yes way and in all honesty, some of the rumors are true. I am madly in love with that idiotic red-head... meaning this is totally different from the time with the stupid HIVE students. I took care of them because they were mine, my little minions, mine to hurt, and mine to use.” Jinx took another step forward as Kitten finally got the mind to take a step back. The power of her hexes grew with each step. “But this time it’s different. Much different.”

“W-What are you going to do?”

“Use your brain for once, Kitten,” Jinx smiled sweetly, raising a glowing hand at the blonde girl. “I have to a make an example of you so that this little mistake doesn’t happen again.”

Kid Flash groaned. Even with super healing speed, it would take a while for all the broken bones and bruises to heal. As he sat up though, he couldn’t help but smile at the sight of Jinx leaning over the side of his bed asleep. He ran his hand through her hair. “Hey Jinxie...”

She slowly opened her eyes and looked up at him sleepily. “Stupid.”

“Hey, is that the first thing you say to your injured boyfriend?” he said with a pout.

“When said boyfriend is stupid enough to get caught in a weak trap like that, than yes.” Jinx said stoutly, resisting the urge to smack him up the head.

“Aw, I’m sorry for scaring you like that. I bet Robin wasn’t that gentle either when giving the news. He probably made it sound a lot worse than it was.” Kid Flash grinned at her, his blue eyes twinkling in a manner that made her anger melt away... not that she was going to tell him that. He’d just use it to his advantage and piss her off more.

“You didn’t scare me,” Jinx snapped in disgruntlement, crossing her arms. “I don’t get scared.”

“Sure you don’t,” he said affectionately and pulled her by the arm onto the bed so that she was now sitting on his lap. Her eyes widened and she tried to squirm away.

“You’re hurt right now! You’re-.”

“Feeling much better now that you’re with me.” He nuzzled into her hair.

Jinx sighed and then relaxed at the familiar feel of his arms wrapped around her. Giving in since it felt nice being with him after such a horrible night, she leaned against him. When she spoke, her voice was small... almost tentative. “...don’t do that again.”

“I’m a hero, babe. Comes with the job.” Kid Flash replied sleepily.

“Don’t I know it,” she rolled her eyes. Silently she sat there, listening to the sound of his breathing. Turning her head slightly, Jinx heard the sound of his heartbeat humming against her ear. It was a sound she heard every night and every morning... and it was a sound she hoped would never disappear from her life.

And she would do everything in her power to make sure it never did.

AU: I think Kid Flash is fast enough to prevent an explosion like that, buuut for the sake of the story, he wasn't able to for some inexplicable reason not mentioned >3>

11. Damsel - Flinx

“You know, you should just say it,” Cheshire said nonchalantly, glancing at her perfectly manicured nails as she leaned against the wall of the prison cell they were in. A few feet from her, Jinx stewed in anger. Pink hexes would have danced across her shoulders if it wasn’t for the power inhibitor surrounding the cage. “It’ll make things go so much faster.”

“You and I can handle this by ourselves.” Jinx said through gritted teeth.

Cheshire yawned behind her mask, though she still put on the act of covering her ‘mouth’. “Yes, but like I said, it’ll make things go much faster and I’d like to get out of here as soon as possible.”

“Got a hot date with Speedy?” Jinx smirked and Cheshire rolled her eyes.

“He wishes.”

“Oops, there goes your chance then.” Jinx mocked, tossing her hair over her shoulder. One of the metal bands had been broken during the fight and rather than looking ridiculous with just one horn, she had let her hair down. “If you actually had some meaningful plans after this, I would have done it, but nope. Guess it’s just up to us and the hard way.”

“...that was weak, especially for you.” Cheshire stood up with her hands on her hips. “What’s so bad about doing it?”

“Because,” Jinx returned to the whole gritting her teeth thing because it was better than physically trying to destroy the cage since it would just hurt her hands. “I am not some stupid damsel in distress who needs saving. I can handle myself!”

“Darling, this isn’t being a damsel,” Cheshire purred and sauntered up to Jinx, placing her arm on her shoulder and leaning on her. “This is using your feminine wiles to manipulate people.”

“Right,” Jinx shoved Cheshire off and the black haired girl chuckled lightly. “You’re just saying that because you want to see it happen.”

“After hearing the glorified stories from Starfire and Bumblebee, yes, I do.” Cheshire said with a wide unseen grin on her face. “And you have to admit, it is pretty cute.”

“Shut up.” Jinx grumbled, crossing her arms moodily. She shifted her weight from foot to foot, her eyes downcast in conflicted contemplation, before she heaved out a heavy sigh. It was better than staying any longer in this cage. “...fine, but never again after this. This is the last time.”

“Admit it, you find it endearing.”

“...do you want me to do it or not?”

Cheshire raised her hands up in mock-surrender. “Go for it. Don’t mind me.”

Jinx groaned and then looked at the ground, her fingers curled into tight fists. This was so humiliating. “....Kid Flash... help...”

She spoke in the tiniest voice possible... and through the gritted teeth thing again too! No one could have heard it, not even Superman! And yet, the tell-tale signs of the rumbling ground could be seen and heard. Jinx covered her face, to hide from the humiliation... but she still peeked between her fingers just as the wall exploded and a mini-tornado made up of the colors red and gold entered, screaming her name out for the world to hear.

“...idiot.”

Jinx groaned. “That was a total fluke. Besides, how is he supposed to hear me? We’re underwater this time!”

“Just try it,” Bumblebee insisted, grinning ear to ear. “Better than us just sitting here waiting for those stupid villains to make their grand entrance.”

“Ugh, fine,” Jinx relented, her shoulders drooping. “But I’m going to feel really stupid when I say it and nothing happens.”

“Who’s going to laugh? That plastic cactus over there?”

“You’re a riot,” Jinx rolled her eyes. She then inhaled deeply and spoke in a complete monotone voice. “Help Kid Flash, I am in trouble and am in need of rescuing.”

“Girl, you just totally sounded like Starfire... except for the whole emotionless part.”

“Whatever, see, it didn’t work. Now can we please think of a more tangible pl-?”

Kid Flash loved getting a rise out of his little Jinx. There was just this fire that erupted from her pink eyes whenever he got her angry and due to the slits of her pupils, it also reminded him of a disgruntled kitty ready to pounce for revenge. Speaking of which, Jinx had a tendency to literally pounce on him and pin him on the ground. A sexy victorious smirk would be on her face at how she was able to hold him down against his will... though in reality, it would be so easy to dodge her leaps or to flip them around so that she was the one trapped underneath him.

Alas, the things love will make one do. Besides, he didn’t mind having her straddle him like that. Sometimes it led to more... heated situations.

But he was digressing.

The whole rubbing her fur the wrong way to see the cute scowl on her face was an obvious reason, but there was a hidden one that many wouldn’t so easily find out.

Similar to Raven, Jinx’s powers ran on her feelings. Be it may that Jinx’s powers weren’t as volatile as Raven’s, but it didn’t change the fact that whenever Jinx was stressed or overly emotional, her powers tended to go out of control.

And whenever he got her angry, sparks would fly.

Literally.

Not all of them hurt, of course. Some stung, but after a while, he realized that the internal hyper speed of his body’s functions would react with her magic in ways he could have never imagined. Maybe it was because she wasn’t literally trying to kill him, but he could sometimes feel something humming in his body in resonance with her powers.

She didn’t always have to be angry for this to happen either.

Like when they kissed, he would feel her hexes dance across his lips, leaving a slight pleasurable sting that made him entangle his hands through her hair, eagerly pulling her close for another taste of her lips. It also happened when she’d slip her hand underneath his shirt, running the back of her nails down his toned chest and that amazing spark would just leave goosebumps all over his skin.

It was almost enough to make him jump on her and beg for more.

Almost.

At first, Jinx herself wasn’t always aware when this happened. The first few times she had been confused by his reactions until, to his despair and joy, she had learned to do it on a conscious level. She’d sometimes brutally tease him, leaving him desperate for her... other times she’d be gentle, her magic weaving along his weary muscles while she’d give one of her heavenly massages that always seemed to have just the right amount of force to get rid of the painful kinks on his body.

But then there were times when she’d do it without thinking, and that was only when he’d claim her with a ferocity that made her lose her self-control.

One time while they were at the T-Tower, he’d been a little too... ahem... eager that the sprinklers had gone off.

Boy what a story that made, especially when they had to explain what happened to Robin.

One thing was sure about this discovery...

Kid Flash opened one eye when he felt a slight pleasant tingle over his bare chest. After a few hours of love-making, the two had been dozing on the bed. Looking down, he saw Jinx drawing circles on him, a sizzle of pink light on her fingertips. The arm wrapped around her tugged her closer and he kissed her on the forehead. “What’s up?”

“Nothing,” she murmured and kissed him tenderly on the clavicle. “...I just never thought my powers could be used like this.”

“Like what?” he asked, lazily toying with the strands of her hair.

“Make someone feel good.”

It was as though her powers were the other half of his own. He certainly never reacted with another being in this level. No other powers had ever made him inhale sharply as a pleasurable haze would hum through his veins. No other meta-human had been able to make his already speeded heart-beat run even faster, his senses yearning for that one person that made him ache with so much need.

It was something that connected them.

It was something that bound them together.

Another spark that drew the two together.

“Jinx, Jinx, are you alright!” Kid Flash asked in a panic, dropping down to one knee after seeing Jinx fall down to the ground. All he had done was his usual teasing along with tracing the curve of her jaw with his finger when suddenly she had dropped to her knees, clutching her face.

“Idiot,” she yelled looking up, her face flustered with a red tinge that clashed with her pink features. “Don’t do that!”

“Do what?” he tilted his head, completely confused.

“Don’t,” Jinx turned her face away, the redness glowing while a small spark of pink light danced around where he had touched her. Gods, did he understand the effects he had on her? If she didn’t slow down her heart rate, her powers were going to go out of control! “Don’t touch me so casually like that...”

Completely stumped, he stared at her. Don’t touch her? But why? He liked touching her! Her skin was so soft and not to mention, it felt so nice and cool against his warm one. In fact...

Jinx yelped and crawled backwards after she felt him cup the side of her face. She clutched onto her warmed cheeks and nearby, a streetlamp exploded. Kid Flash glanced at the broken pieces of glass and then at his hand, before realization dawned, a triumphed grin growing on his face.

“Aw, Jinxie, do you really get that affected when I touch you?” he teased, waggling his eyebrows at her as he slowly approached her.

She growled under her breath, trying to rub away the warmth of his hand on her face. “Like hell I do!”

“Oh really?” he disappeared into a blur and Jinx’s instincts warned her just a little too slow before arms wrapped tightly around her arms from behind. Kid Flash pressed his cheek against hers and rubbed them together, keeping her close to his solid chest. “How does this make you feel?”

By now, Jinx’s face was starting to resemble a tomato. She squirmed against his hold, but it was pointless, he was too strong. No, no, she had better control than this! She was Jinx, the ex-super villain that had been the top of HIVE Academy! The ex-villainess previously voted to be the next supreme bad guy for the new generation of heroes! T-The ex-teen villainess that had been one of the primary antagonists against the Teen Titans!

Yeah... that was really convincing with how hexes were running uncontrollable over her shoulders. Jinx clenched her eyes shut and shook her head. “It... It... I don’t feel a thing!”

“You’re so cute when you’re in denial,” Kid Flash said while laying the icing on the cake, his lips brushing gently on her cheek.

The stimulation was too much.

Jump City suffered under a blackout for the next three days.

Jinx groaned as she fumbled with her keys to the apartment. Too tired, she kept missing and slamming the keys into the door. It didn’t help that she had several heavy bags thrown over her shoulders.

The day had been long and cumbersome. The school she was forming for meta-humans was slowly coming along, but right now everything was a mess. She had to deal with contractors, paperwork, the media, the Justice League, the public, and some of the rescued children who weren’t adjusting well in their temporary homes at the orphanages.

“Damn it,” she snarled in frustration, ready to just hex the lock to oblivion. Wally wouldn’t mind. Hell, with his super speed, he would have fixed the thing in less than three second. Her shoulders then sagged. No, he was busy training to become the next Flash. She didn’t want to give him more work to do when he came back... and neither did she want to fix it herself.

And so, summoning the last reserve of her patience, she tried again and cried out in triumph when she succeeded this time. Jinx didn’t waste a second and slammed the door open, leaping inside with a cheerful ‘yes!’

“Someone’s had a good day at work,” she heard an all too familiar voice drip with amusement. Pink eyes widened and her bags fell down with a loud thud that made the ground shake. Eyebrows were arched. “Jeez Jinxie, what do you have in there? The bodies of your victims?”

“Wally?” she gasped out at the flaming red haired man leaning against the back of the couch in the living room. He gave her a charming smile, raising one hand up in greeting.

“Hi Jinx.” Wally said before rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. “Yeah, sorry about not calling for a while. There was a mission in space and I-whoa!”

She tackled him and the two fell over the couch and onto it. Wally laid there blinking in surprise and confusion before he grinned widely, his arms wrapping around her small frame. She then sat up, straddling his waist, a dark scowl on her pretty face. “You idiot! Don’t worry me like that! If you had a mission, you should’ve at least sent me a message when you returned!”

“And miss surprising you like this?” his hands rested on her waist, the playful smile still on his face. “If I’d known that was the reaction you’d give me, I would have surprised you more often.”

“Shut up,” she said before collapsing on his chest, throwing all her weight on top of him. Wally let out a small ‘oomph’. “I’m exhausted to the bone because I’m surrounded by idiots. I demand you make me feel better by cuddling with me for the next few days.”

“Is cuddling really all you want to do?” he murmured into her hair, running his hand down her spine suggestively.

Jinx answered with a distracted hum, already drifting off due to how familiar and safe she felt lying on top of him. She snuggled into his chest, clutching onto his t-shirt.

Wally chuckled and brushed his lips against her forehead. “I missed you too, Jinx.”

“Ugh, my stomach,” Beast Boy groaned as he flopped on the couch of the T-Tower. Following him were the other Titans who collapsed with him. “Why do villains come up with the weirdest plans ever? Who thinks of a super-duper-vomit-hurler roller coaster? There’s a reason why some roller coasters are illegal! ...even if some of them do sound pretty cool.”

“Hey,” Jinx said half-heartedly, already almost asleep on her side of the couch. She yawned and stretched, tired from the day of crime fighting. “Not all villains are stupid.”

“Well you’re an ex-villain,” Beast Boy replied. “Meaning you’re way smarter than them.”

“Thanks... I think.”

“How come you’re okay?” Cyborg asked wearily from the floor. Even Starfire, who could withstand perilous conditions like that of space, looked nauseas. “You were on that thing a lot longer than any of us. Actually, you were also the one who took down the criminal in the end.”

“I have no idea what you’re talking about.” Jinx said with a dismissive way of her hand. “It didn’t feel all that fast to me. Actually, it was kind of slow.”

“Not fast?” Robin demanded, clutching onto his stomach before repeating incredulously. “Not fast? That thing was three times the normal speed limit! I’m amazed we survived through it!”

“Stop. Yelling.” Raven snarled from the floor, her headache growing worse with each incredulous shout. She held onto her head and it began to glow a soft white light that soothed the headache. Something soft brushed against her knee and she saw a little green kitten looking up at her imploringly. Internally rolling her eyes, she pressed her hand against the kitten’s head. “Better?”

“Much,” Beast Boy said with a green, morphing back to his human form as he sidled up next to her, snuggling into her shoulder. Raven shoved him to the ground by the head and he whined from the ground. “Raveeeen.”

“Don’t touch me.”

“C’mon Jinx, tell us your secret.” Cyborg continued to pester, poking the sleepy sorceress.

“Yes, please friend Jinx,” Starfire lifted her head from Robin’s shoulder. “You must share your secret so that we may enjoy the fruits of it if we were to meet this villain once more.”

“There’s no secret.” Jinx batted Cyborg’s hand away. “I don’t know why, but I didn’t find that roller-coaster all that fast, okay? And Robin, just because I was immune to it doesn’t mean I’m evil again and siding with the villain.”

Robin arched an eyebrow at the accusation. “Of course not. That’s a stupid assumption.”

“Not according to the gossip columns who keep raving about how every move I make is making the great boy wonder suspicious that I am back to my old wicked ways,” Jinx mocked, rolling her eyes. Robin was paranoid, but not an idiot.

“And you believe them?”

“‘Course not,” she mumbled. “Was just making a point. Anyways, stop badgering me. I really don’t know. Maybe I just have a stronger stomach than you guys.”

“Hey Jinx,” a gold and red blurred figure suddenly popped right beside her. Kid Flash kneeled on the sofa Jinx was on, leaning an arm on the armrest, a big grin on his face. “Missed me?”

“What do you want?” Jinx’s voice was muffled as she buried her face into the sofa.

“Aw, you shouldn’t sleep here.” Kid Flash chuckled before hoisting her up into his arms. “If you do, then you’re going to end up spending the night, and then it’ll make my visit from Central pointless.”

“With your speed, you could get back to Central in a few seconds.” Jinx mumbled, voice still muffled as she was now talking into his neck. Her arms were wrapped around his neck and she nuzzled against it. “...take me home?”

“You got it babe,” he said with a grin. “Later guys.”

“...well, there’s you answer.” Raven said dryly as the others watched with wide eyes, napkins and stray pieces of paper flying into the air with the disappearance of the fastest kid alive. “With Kid Flash always zipping around with her in his arms, it’s no wonder she found the amazing hurler so slow.”

AU: It was subtle, but that was a small dig towards those people who make Robin ultra-paranoid and a jerkass about Jinx turning evil. I can see it happening somewhat, but most of the reasons given are often weak and make me hate Robin... and while he can be a jackass, I don’t think he’d be that crazy as some fanfics tend to make him to be like. xD

The Little Things

It was the little things that were the most important. Despite being the flamboyant cocky teenager that he was, Kid Flash’s moments together with Jinx were somewhat private.

They weren’t like Robin and Starfire where the press seemed to hound their every movement, but they also weren’t like Speedy and Cheshire where their relationship was a complete and utter secret. (Kid Flash knew only because of Jinx, who, apparently, was still on talking terms with Cheshire.)

Besides, even if a magazine tabloid or newspaper gossip reporter dared to get near them, any cameras or recording devices would blow up around Jinx... which several industries had learned about the hard way.

Many would actually claim that Kid Flash was too good for the likes of a reformed villainess and this wasn’t simply due to her shady history. She was also the polar opposite of the out-going, charismatic golden-boy superhero. Whereas Kid Flash would light up the room with his presence, Jinx had the tendency to darken any light-hearted atmosphere possible.

Thus, it was surprising to many –especially the KF fans- that despite several years passing, those two were still together and as close as ever.

Yet no one knew why...

And Kid Flash had no intention of sharing the reasons with any of them.

He refused, point blank, to tell them about how it was the little things that made her even more endearing to him, the way she’d curl up next to him on cold nights due to how he –with his naturally fast metabolism- was basically a human furnace while he’d cuddle against her because of how she was just so naturally nice and cool against his heated skin. Jinx would fit so perfectly in his arms and sometimes, even though he didn’t require much sleep due to his speedy nature, he’d sometimes just spend hours holding her in his arms, running his hand through her hair absentmindedly.

There was also how despite her hard past, she’d look at him with trusting eyes she’d never show anyone else. Not even the HIVE had the benefit of seeing those eyes. There was a magical glint in those pink orbs, even if there was a haughty sneer on her face or a dark scowl. She trusted him with everything. Even after all the betrayals and hurt that she had faced in the past, she was willing to try again, just for him. It was a look that left him breathless and wanting to hold her tight all over again, to protect her from all the dark looks everyone would cast her way.

No one would ever know of how his heart would flutter like mad whenever she’d give him a smile reserved just for him. It wasn’t one of her catty or salacious smiles or that scary one she’d give in a particularly bloody fight. It was one of those shy hesitant smiles that she’d give him whenever she thought he wasn’t looking or when she thought he was asleep.

Jinx may not know it, but Kid Flash had mastered the art of pretending to be asleep just because he enjoyed how she’d quietly run her hand through his hair, a soft smile on her face, and a tiny omission of her tough bad-girl exterior as she whispered how much she loved him.

Nope, no way, not even for all the money in the world would he tell a soul about this.

Because those were the small things he loved about Jinx and it was for him and him only. And hero or not, if someone got their hands on that information, there would be hell to pay.

AU: Teehee, another side to the normally happy go-lucky golden boy amongst Superheroes. People always see Wally to be this happy kid with a pure heart... and while that's somewhat true, I think there's a deeper side to them. This, I feel, is especially so since in the comic book series, he went a little evil in an Alternate Universe where he lost the love of his life, Linda. Who's to say this Wally isn't the same, since he has the blue eyes of the AU-Wally while the canon universe has green eyes?

“How quaint,” an all too familiar voice commented the moment Jinx left the room that held her slumbering children. She glanced up, having noticed the presence seconds ago. Sitting in her living room was a broad shouldered man clad in back, a skull-like mask covering his face.

“X.”

“Jinxie,” the endearment barely left his lips when a sharp spark of pink exploded where he had been sitting on the couch. He dodged by a hair’s width, reappearing beside the table in the dining room. “That’s cold.”

“Don’t call me Jinxie,” she said sharply, narrowing her pink eyes.

“Why, is it a name only Kid Flash can say? Oh wait, pardon me, it’s the Flash now, isn’t it?” he said lazily before chuckling darkly, leaning against the table. “I’m amazed how long you’ve lasted with the other side.”

“I told you. I’ve gone straight.” Jinx smirked at him, crossing her arms imposingly. “And you know I never do anything half-assed.”

“That you don’t,” he said, a hint of admiration in his voice, his hidden eyes running up and down her matured figure. X ducked to avoid the hex that was aimed for his head. “But you and I both know this won’t last. It’s just a farce, an illusion you’ve built around yourself. You’ll soon grow bored of this happy little family act and return to the place you truly belong.”

“What do you want X?” she demanded in a deadly calm voice, hexes crackling around her threateningly. Jinx’s hair rose up slightly with the flow of power. “Last I heard, you were at Metropolis. What brings you to Central?”

“Just checking on a little investment of mine.”

Jinx narrowed her eyes. “I’ll never leave this side.”

There was a harsh laughter as X stood up from his place. “Keep telling yourself that, babe.” He sauntered towards her, unafraid of the lethal hexes she could launch at him. He caught her by the chin, his other hand placed against the side of her head to keep her trapped against the wall. “But it won’t be long until you grow tired of this place and sink yourself back into the darkness... and I’ll be waiting for you with open arms.”

“Iris, have you seen Jai,” Jinx asked her five year old daughter who was currently zipping here and there in the room. The little girl giggled and ran quickly, a blurry outline of her figure barely seen. Jinx sighed good-naturedly before sticking her hand out, catching Iris around the waist before she could get away. “Iris?”

“Jai went that way!” she chirped, pointing towards the gate that led to the school garden. Iris then began to wiggle her legs, the urge to run too strong for her to stay still. “Mommy, put me down! Down!”

“Iris,” Jinx said warningly and the little red-head immediately calmed down, the wiggling stopping as she stilled herself.

“Can you put me down please, mommy?” she asked with a sweet smile.

“Of course, dearie,” Jinx said before lowering Iris to the ground. She chuckled when Iris immediately vanished into a blur, rushing into the school where Jinx heard loud shouts of surprise at the sudden appearance of the little red-head. Iris was definitely Wally’s kid, never able to stay still, filled with lots of life and smiles.

Jai, on the other hand... he was faster than the average child, but not as fast as Iris despite how they were twins. Silently, Jinx feared if he had actually inherited some of her abilities.

She walked into the gardens and wondered where to start. The gardens were huge, having been built by the students of the school and there were many students. Then she saw a little bundle of flaming red hair sticking out from the bushes and smiled, walking towards it.

“Now I wonder where my little Jai can be,” she mused out loud. The bushes shuddered a little and the red hair fluttered a bit. “Mommy will be so sad. She had been looking for Jai for so long and yet, she can’t find him.”

“I don’t have a mommy!” a childish voice rang out, an angry pout lingering with the words.

Jinx paused at this development. She walked closer to the bushes with concern in her eyes. Her hand was raised to push away the leaves when the red hair blurred away. She sighed when she realized Jai was trying to run away. With a patience she reserved for her children, she again stuck her hand out and grabbed Jai by the shoulder and picked him up before he could escape.

“Hey!” he yelled, wiggling in midair. His super-speed made it so that he was actually fighting pretty hard against her grasp, but she had enough experience to not be dragged down by him. “Let me go!”

“Nu-uh,” she said, carrying him under her arms as she walked to the tree he had been hiding next to. “I want to play with the mommy-less Jai.”

“No, let me go!” he squirmed harder, but it was useless. After all, it wasn’t by pure luck that Jinx was able to control a school filled with meta-humans.

She plopped next to the tree and settled Jai on her lap. To her amusement, he was looking at everywhere but at her. When she tried to reach out and run her hand through her hair, he ducked so that she wouldn’t be able to touch. “And what exactly have I done to earn this treatment, hmm, Jai?”

“You’re not my mommy,” he said, sticking his tongue out at her.

“Oh dear, whatever will I do without my darling Jai?” Jinx said dramatically, placing a hand on her heart as though she had been wounded. “What will I do whenever I bake delicious chocolate chip cookies and have no one to share it with? I suppose there is Iris, but I always make enough for two speedsters. What will I do with the rest of them? Maybe I can give them to the others kids and-.”

“No!” Jai yelled in horror. “They’re my cookies!”

“Oh really?” Jinx inquired mischievously. “But I thought I wasn’t your mommy anymore? Why ever should I feed my delicious cookies to anyone other than my precious children?”

“Those cookies are only for me and Iris!” Jai cried out, clutching onto Jinx’s sleeves. He then buried his face into her chest, the rest of his words coming out in muffled yells. “No sharing with the school! I don’t want to share mommy with them!”

Ah, and now they were at the heart of the problem.

“Jai, honey, what’s wrong?” she asked gently, cradling him against him. Jai had never made a fuss about her tending to the kids at the school before. In fact, he had been quite understanding for someone his age, going out of his way to befriend many of the kids here. “I can’t make it better if you won’t tell me what’s wrong.”

There was an incoherent murmur from him as his face remained buried against her.

“Jai.”

“...they’re calling you mommy.” He said with his voice slightly shaking.

“Who are?”

“The other kids here,” he mumbled before continuing on resentfully, his fingers tightening around her sleeves. “It’s not fair! You always spend time with them and now they’re even calling you their mommy! I... I already have to share you with Iris... I don’t... I don’t want you to... sniffle... leave me...”

She raised him higher until he was burying his face into her neck now. “Jai, you know I love you very much.” He nodded into her neck, her tears wetting her skin.

Jinx held him close to her and hummed softly, running her fingers soothingly down his back as his small frame shuddered into sobs. Her eyes softened at how she had unconsciously hurt her baby boy like this.

There were so many things she could have said there. She could have explained that the kids here had never had a proper mother, a feeling she could understand all too well with her own childhood. But that was a talk she had had with him already in the past. It would be meaningless to bring it up again...

“I love mommy too,” he mumbled, sounding a little sleepy after having cried. “I’m sorry for saying you’re not my mommy...”

She chuckled and kissed him on the head. “All forgiven.”

Jinx tightened her hold around him. The last thing she wanted to do was make him sad, but she couldn’t simply abandon these kids either. Her kids were the most precious thing in the world to her. The moment she had given birth to both Iris and Jai, she had sworn to herself that she would do everything in her power to make sure they would grow up happy and safe. They would never, ever endure the things she had...

But what could she do with this predicament?

“I will never ever leave you, Jai,” she whispered into his hair.

“B-But you have the other kids and-and Iris too,” he said fearfully. “You’ll forget me a-and-.”

“Silly, where did you get such an idea?” Jinx teased lightly before sighing. “I’m sorry that I can’t do anything about the other kids calling me their mom... but I’ll let you in on a little secret.”

Jai seemed to perk up at this, his striking blue eyes that he had inherited with Wally looking at her with such innocence that her heart clenched. “What is it?”

“Don’t tell anyone else,” she whispered conspiratorially, a playful glint in her eyes. She motioned for Jai to come closer until his ear was right next to her mouth. “Mommy loves Jai and Iris the most.”

Pure uninhibited delight shined in his eyes before he looked at her suspiciously. “Even more than Daddy?”

She laughed. “Even more than daddy.”

There was silence before Jai looked satisfied with this. It always amazed her how easy it was for children to forgive and move on. And it simply made them all the more endearing to her. She cuddled Jai tightly to her before she ran her fingers down his side, effectively tickling him. Peals of laughter filled the garden before a sharp breeze blew by.

“Hey, what are you two doing without me?” Iris demanded, her hands on her hips.

“Ah, my next victim!” Jinx cried out, Jai held under her arm as she lunged to grab Iris as well. More laughter filled the garden as Jinx began to tickle them both together.

“Iris,” Jai said between laughter. “W-We can’t let m-haha-mommy beat us.”

“Never give up!” Iris squealed before the two attacked Jinx back.

The older woman laughed hard as the two kids attacked her, all three of them tumbling onto the ground. She held them both close to her, her arms wrapped around their small frail bodies. A moment passed before Jinx kissed them both in the head.

“I love you two.”

There was a cheeky laugh from Iris. “I love you too, mommy!”

“Me too!” Jai said excitedly. “I love mommy too!”

Forever and ever.

AU: Now, it isn’t like Jai loves his mom more than his dad. He just knows that Wally and Jinx love each other a lot so his only measure of comparison of how great her love towards him would be is that. xD so in his innocent mind, since his mom and dad loved each other the most, if his mom said she loved him more than dad, than that must be HUGE!

Jinx flipped in the air, avoiding the shots of ice and fire aimed at her. She landed on the ground, only to be assaulted by the ground troops. A boy with four arms tried to grab her, but she easily knocked the wind out of him by pushing him onto the ground. The next to attack were two kids taught in the art of assassination, their weapons held high as they aimed for her vital spots.

Her arms blocked the attacks and she grabbed the two kids by the collar, spun and then threw them into the padded walls of the large room. There were grunts of pain, but more assailants came after her.

She smiled at their tenacity before her eyes began to glow a sharp pink, the air rippling before all the occupants in the room were blasted with a wave of pink energy. Everyone slammed into the walls and groans of pain filled the room.

“No fair, you used your powers,” the four armed boy complained, sitting up from the ground. One of the arms growing out of his back began to rub the back of his sore head.

“Life isn’t fair, Quad,” Jinx said lightly, her eyes making note to make sure no one was seriously injured. All in all, it just looked like a few scrapes and bruises. “Besides, it was never agreed that I wouldn’t use my powers.”

“I thought it was an unspoken one,” one of the child assassins grumbled, rubbing her forehead. The other assassin perked up in delight.

“Wait, does this mean we’re getting better since you needed to use your powers?”

Jinx arched an eyebrow. “Unfortunately, dear, you are still severely lacking in that department. My use of powers was a reminder as to how inferior you all are right now.”

“Just you wait! We’ll get you one day!” another kid shouted from the ground, still recovering from hitting the wall. He had his finger pointed to the sky before his arm flopped back onto the ground, completely tired.

Jinx chuckled and shook her head, the door to the training room opening as one by one they began to shuffle out. She paused when she felt someone lingering behind in the room, shuffling their feet on the ground. Turning around, she saw Quad looking at her hesitantly with his big green eyes.

“What’s up, honey?” she asked the twelve year old.

Realizing he had her attention, he looked at the ground. “It’s nothing...”

“If it was nothing, would you still be in here with me?” Jinx inquired, raising a nonexistent eyebrow with one hand on her hip. Quad’s face flushed and the fidgeting grew worse. “Is everything alright? The other kids treating you okay?”

“No, no, it’s great!” he rushed shyly, having been brought to Jinx’s school for meta-humans two years ago.

He had been an abandoned child, abused and forced to fight in the children’s division of the underground meta-human fight ring. Other than his two extra arms, Quad possessed no other abilities, making him an easy target for bullying and abuse. This made him have a shy, introvert personality... though many wouldn’t believe her since he was so aggressive when he had first arrived at the school. Jinx had personally dealt with him to make sure he wasn’t overcome by his confrontational instinct to protect himself.

And now here they were, two years later, with him being cute as a button with his gentle personality.

“I was just.... just wondering...” he fumbled and Jinx waited patiently, knowing he needed a minute or two to gather his courage. “Can I... Can I call you mom?”

The request took her by surprise and there was a good healthy seconds of silence when Jinx snapped out of it. She noticed that Quad’s face had gotten even redder and, if anything, he was close to tears by what he figured would be rejection. Her pink eyes softened and she walked over to him, wrapping her arms around him and pulling him in for a hug.

“Of course you can,” she said gently, running a hand through his brown hair.

He tensed in her arms before all four of his arms immediately latched onto her. She chuckled at how it felt like a koala was clinging to her, tears soaking the front of her dress. Unconsciously she began to hum to him, letting him cry out his sorrow and happiness. Meanwhile, she dryly considered the possibility of other kids calling her mom as well. A few remembered their parents, but many of them had equally been abandoned and abused...

Wait until Wally heard about this.

I don't own Teen Titans and while I would have liked to have more development between Kid Flash and Jinx, I'm glad they're technically a canon couple and even got to kiss in the comics! 8D

Sleep: Mornings

The sun was barely rising, but Jinx’s eyes fluttered open at the sensation of something missing. It was a familiar emptiness that she hated, but willingly put up with since there was no alternative. Her hands reached out and felt that the bed was still warm, but her target was still missing. She frowned, her eyebrows scrunching together, before she reached out some more.

“Wally,” she whined when she couldn’t find him. Jinx sat up from the bed, rubbing her eyes tiredly. Her hair was a mess, but it only seemed to add to how cute she appeared with the sleepy eyes and disgruntled pout. The blanket slipped off her shoulders and revealed her pale bare skin, one that had Wally, who was just a foot away from the bed, staring at her with a silly grin on his face. Jinx was wearing nothing but shorts and white spaghetti strapped tank-top, all of it loosely hanging onto her that it left nothing to the imagination. She scowled at him. “What are you doing up?”

“It’s morning.” He said simply.

“So what? Come back to bed.” Jinx yawned, stretching like a cat as she leaned against her pillows. “Don’t tell me you always get up at this time when you’re at the Watchtower.”

“Pretty much, though if you match the time zone with the other side of the world, I’d be waking up pretty late.” Wally joked only to yelp when there was a sharp sting on his back that made him take a step forward towards the bed. Jinx lunged without warning, linking her arms around his neck and jerking him forward. Wally fell onto the bed with her, his face buried into her chest while a long luscious leg hooked itself around his waist.

“You’ve been gone for months and I will be damned if I don’t get the opportunity to laze around with my husband for an hour or two,” she murmured, knowing the kids would be up and rampaging soon. They were early risers like their father.

“Aw, don’t tell me you missed me that much, Jinxie-poo,” he teased, wrapping his strong comforting arms around her.

“A, don’t call me Jinxie-poo. And B,” she ran her fingers through his hair lazily and whispered heatedly into his ears, “didn’t I show you last night just how much I missed you?”

There was a chuckle as he raised his head upward to kiss her cheek. “And I must say that I can just feel the love. Or maybe it was just my adorable ass you missed?”

“Well, there is that,” Jinx mused in amusement. “You do have a very cute butt.”

“One that is reserved only for you.”

“That better be true,” she warned, her eyes flashing pink as she remembered of his flirtatious history. “If I catch wind that you’re even looking at some other woman funny, not even Superman will be able to keep me out of-.”

“Relax,” Wally laughed. “You know you’re my number one.”

Jinx grumbled under her breath before snuggling into his broad chest, her arms wrapping tightly around him. There was another chuckle from him at how she was trying to absorb his warmth, her naturally cool skin matching well with his heated one caused by his fast metabolism.

“Cuddling?” he inquired lightly. “Very Jinx-like.”

“Just shut up and enjoy it.” she mumbled sleepily, his warmth making her eyes close. “You know you missed it too.”

His blue eyes softened and he nuzzled into her temple. “You have no idea.”

Sleep: Nights

Wally West restlessly tapped his foot, his eyes continuously looking back from the TV to the clock. The twins were in bed, he was given a week of vacation from the Justice League, and his beautiful wife was nowhere to be found. Granted he knew she worked late sometimes at the school, but did she have to be late on his first night home?

His ears perked at the door opening and Jinx barely managed to let out a tired ‘I’m home’ when she found herself in the arms of a very eager Speedster who had her pinned to the wall, his lips pressed against hers while his hand ran through her hair. Oh gods, it had been too long since he was last able to do this. Her lips were so sweet and inviting, her familiar scent washing over him comfortingly.

When he pulled away, there was a playful smile on her lips. “Missed you too, Wally.”

“Did you have any trouble at work?” he inquired, walking after her as they headed over towards their room. Jinx dropped her bag on the hanger and flopped on the bed, looking completely exhausted.

“Two kids blew up the kitchen and there were several that went a little wild during training session,” Jinx mumbled and he spotted the bandages wrapped around her wrist. She sat up, leaning against her arms. The mischievous glint remained in her eyes. “Still, nothing I couldn’t handle.”

He zoomed up to her, sitting next to her on the bed. “Are you going to work tomorrow as well?”

“Well,” she drawled, leaning against him. “Normally I would be there around eight with the twins, but if I remember correctly, a certain husband of mine finally got the Bat’s approval for a vacation.”

“So?” Wally smiled, lifting her injured wrist up to kiss it.

“So I guess my duties as headmistress will have to be put on hold for a few days,” Jinx crawled onto his lap, straddling it so that they were now face to face. Her arms were wrapped around his neck and she pressed her forehead against his. “What do you say to that, big boy?”

“Can’t wait,” he kissed her lips before splaying more kisses on her cheeks, trailing down to her neck. “I really missed you Jinx.”

She paused before giggling lightly, tilting her head to give more room for him. “And I can feel just how much you missed me.”

“You have no idea,” he groaned as her fingers weaved through his hair, her soft thighs, exposed due to the black dress she was prone to wear, were wrapped snuggling around his hips. And when she grinded herself against him, he thought he was going to lose all self-control.

“Well then,” she purred into his ears, “shall we get this night started?”
