Licking Cat Photos Part-1

noreply@blogger.com (Anonymous) — Sun, 18 Mar 2012 10:44:00 +0000

It is indeed a sign of affection when a cat licks you. The photo above is typical - the cat steadies your hand in its paws and then scrapes its tongue over your skin...there's no escape!

Cats enjoy licking themselves as well, and those of us who own dogs are grateful that our cats are so self-maintaining. I love how a cat focuses while licking. The eyes close to block out any other sensory information while it concentrates on task at hand.

Funny Cats to Help Turn that Frown Upside Down

noreply@blogger.com (Anonymous) — Sat, 10 Mar 2012 18:13:00 +0000

Funny Cats are the best remedy for a bad day or a lousy mood. Come back and check out some of these wacky cats and it will seem like nothing can get you down or that there is nothing you can not handle.

It always amazes me how much they can make us laugh and make us feel better. Part of what makes them so funny is that they don not know they are being funny. The timing, the delivery, the execution, the originality, it is all there. It is silliness they are born with and begin using from kitten-hood right through to their adult Cat life.

mama mia, mama mia, mama mia Figaro!

Hanging off the edge of the scratch post, sleeping on dogs, popping out of pumpkins or making faces; it is funny stuff.

Well, whatever it is and however they do it, it always makes us laugh, helps us forget our troubles and puts us a good mood. Enjoy the pics. They good for a laugh!

Do you feel better now? I was worth it, wasn’t it. Come back again when a pick-me-up or a good laugh!

Great Pictures of Cats And Dogs

noreply@blogger.com (Anonymous) — Fri, 09 Mar 2012 13:03:00 +0000

This gallery of pictures of cats and dogs may move your cute-meter off the scale! A mixture of natural and studio shots showing that cats and dogs don't have to be enemies and can in fact be great companions. Seems only logical since so many share households. Unfortunately, these sorts of shots are not possible in my household. We call our little Chihuahua-cross, Constable Toffi, because she feels its her duty to bark an alert whenever our feline darlings enter prohibited territory on the kitchen benches or behave criminally by sharpening claws on my favorite chair.

I hope you enjoy these pictures of cats and dogs as much as we do.

House Cats in Basins

noreply@blogger.com (Anonymous) — Thu, 08 Mar 2012 07:21:00 +0000

My cats have never slept in basins...I think that's why these photos caught my attention. Basins are hardly soft and warm; however, they clearly cradle a curled cat very well. Of course, like most cats, mine have spent plenty of time in the kitchen sink, but not sleeping of course!

I hope you enjoy looking at these bathroom cats as much as I did finding them.

Domestic Cats in Windows

Cats seem to love windows. There is so much pleasure to be obtained from a window. On a sunny day, windows are reliable providers of warmth for our heat-seekers. Lying in the sun, cats always look so relaxed and contented. And their mood often rubs off onto observers.

Windows are also, of course, sources of information and entertainment about the world without the need to venture into unpleasant weather.

For indoor-only cats, windows are probably like television...showing scenes only to view but not to experience.

I don't know about you, but I get sentimental when I see a cat in a window. It's a romantic scene for me, like a country cottage or a beautiful garden.

I hope you enjoy looking at these window cats as much as I did finding them. Don't miss the other cute cats galleries.

Great Pictures of Cats

noreply@blogger.com (Anonymous) — Sun, 26 Feb 2012 07:54:00 +0000

I can't keep a straight face when I look at pictures of cats. If you're like me, you're either smiling at their sweetness or laughing at their antics.

Do you love watching cats being funny? I have done my best to choose genuinely funny cat videos for your enjoyment.

Do you favour a particular breed or a regular non-pedigree? My family has one of each - a Burmese and a non-pedigree Tabby. They are both an absolute delight and give every family member immense pleasure and amusement.

If you love cats, I hope you'll love this website. It's full of what we love about cats with lots of pictures of cats to curl the sides of your mouth.

Sisi (pictured above) is our Cat of the Month.

How would you like to see your cat featured on our home page (this page) for a month? This website receives about 28,000 visitors every month from all around the world, and you can show your family and friends. To enter, go to the Cat of the Month page to upload a good photo and tell us about your cat. The best entry will be selected after the 25th of each month to be featured on this page the following month. Entries not selected for cat of the month will get their own page on this site featuring the cat's photo and story.

Cute kittens galore!

noreply@blogger.com (Anonymous) — Sat, 25 Feb 2012 07:44:00 +0000

This page is your springboard for pictures of cute kittens.

I've found lots of kittens for you to gush over, including squeaking kitten sounds and litters of new kittens.

Some people like kittens of a particular color or coat pattern. If that's you, or you really don't care as long as they're cute, have a look at the galleries of orange kittens, silver kittens, white kittens, tuxedo kittens and calico kittens.

Persian kittens, Ragdoll kittens, Burmese kittens and Scottish Fold kittens are galleries focusing on specific breeds.

I also have over 20 cartoon kittens to share with you, as well as easy instructions on how to draw a kitten.

If you need ideas for names for kittens, there is lots of inspiration here.

**Don't miss the cute cats section of the site, which has AMAZING photos of beautiful cats in all the spaces and places that cats enjoy - in bags, in basins, in gardens, in windows, in hiding, in kitchens...I have found some fantastic shots.

I've started to wonder about what attracts us to cuteness. Why do I melt at the sight of animals, particularly baby animals?

I discovered that our attraction to cuteness is universal, and fortunately healthy. According to Professor James Serpell, an animal welfare researcher at the University of Pennsylvania, looking at pictures of cute animals online has immediate positive effects on our wellbeing. Our blood pressure and heartrate relax during those moments of wonder.

We humans are essentially social animals and having the company of animals as well as other humans is important to us.

We seem to be hardwired, however, to respond to babies and other young animals that can't care for themselves. Austrian zoologist, Konrad Lorenz first noted that people are attracted to juvenile
characteristics such as large foreheads, big eyes, chunky limbs and a clumsy walk. We are drawn to them and feel protective towards them. Makes sense from an evolutionary perspective.

Sleepy Cat Pictures

noreply@blogger.com (Anonymous) — Thu, 23 Feb 2012 07:03:00 +0000

Why are sleeping cats so appealing? Why do I feel more than the usual urge to touch and cuddle a sleeping cat? Hardly seems fair...terribly selfish...the poor cat is in its own world, totally relaxed and I can hardly restrain myself from running my fingers across its fur. So darn adorable! And if they're not looking good enough to squish, they're soooo funny, like the cat in the photo above. My Burmese adopts postures like that, bless him. That's why I love cats...they're just a feel-good bundle of delight (sorry to those of you struggling with aggression or spraying problems - there really IS a good reason why you love them).

I hope you enjoy looking at these sleepy cats as much as I did finding them.
