Today was our first Paint and Play Furniture Day painting class and what a great day it was! Kathy and I had the best 5 students. They were creative, hardworking, and so much fun. We couldn't have picked a greater bunch...

Meet Liz. She selected the bottom half of a Hoosier cabinet for her piece of furniture.

After a little chipping creme she covered the piece with Country Living Peppercorn.

Sanding...

Waxing!

Meet Mom and son, Paula and Allan.

Paula did a great little cabinet in Country Living Candy Apple Red and Peppercorn.

Dry brushed a little black on the edges.

She had a little to much fun with the power sander!

A little walnut Liberon wax and beautiful!

Allan choose a great drop leaf table.

After a coat of country Living Peppercorn, chipping creme and Bayberry on top, off to the sanding station.

More sanding.

Toner.

Beautiful, finished with a couple of coats of polyacrylic.

Love Jennifer's chair. Perfect for their cabin.

1 coat of Country Living Mustard.

Finished with a coating of Liberon med. oak wax. This is what I call "instant gradification"

The best compliment ever is when a customer sends you a pic of a custom piece you did for them. This lucky little girl has a new desk and chair. Thanks Kathy for the chair, beautiful with the desk I did. Thanks Evan for the pictures.

Custom painting

This was an unbelievable mess before I started painting on it (sorry, I'm just to anxious to start a piece and forget the before pics). It had been stored on the front deck of "This Old Place" for as long as I can remember. Even though it was covered in tape, dirt and mold, a young couple saw it's potential, purchased it and asked me to paint it.. After a good clean-up (thanks, hon), I started painting and distressing.

After a few changes, a little toner, a good polish, and clean glass...

A beautiful glass top coffee table with lots of storage.

Vanity Elegance

This was such an easy and fun piece. Found a great chair, already done! Covered a small, simple vanity with Caromel Colours new color, Versailles. Matched the chair pattern with a Caromel Colours stencil. New hardware and TaaDaaaa, elegance.

Finished this piece yesterday while it was trying to decide to snow or not. This would be great as a flat screen tv stand or just some extra storage.
