This blog is long overdue! But I am very excited to share to you all one of my favorite go-to places in old Manila which is at THE oldest Chinatown which is located at Binondo, Manila. There are so many things to do here and our favorite is to try authentic Chines cuisine at a very affordable price. During this pandemic, it is very hard to travel and since we live in Metro Manila, we visit this place once in a while (of course, with proper precautions by wearing face mask, face shield [inside establishments], bringing alcohols and safe social distancing. This post will be your virtual tour.

If you have not been to this side of Manila, I would highly recommend to make your way from Escolta down to Binondo. We used to ride public transportation like jeepney and then LRT. Used to reside in Makati so our route would be Gil Puyat in Pasay and then to LRT Carriedo Station. There are so many cool and old buildings sightings when you take this route instead. I personally love the vibes in Escolta. We also used to hangout at Fred's just inside the hub.

Manila is steaming hot almost all throughout the year to it's better to wear light shirts, comfy shorts or trousers and then your comfiest sneakers because there will be a lot of walking!

I will one a vintage (working) film camera one day. It's just too expensive to maintain one.

Inside Escolta HUB where Fred's is located. There is also a coffee shop inside and so many artisans.

The every famous egg tart there is. If I'm not mistaken, this is less than Php 50

You can never go wrong with Fried Siopao! It's my all time favorite.

I cannot count the number of times I've been to Binondo. There's just something about this place that very special to me. If schedule permits, I will talk about my fave restos from this place next time I post a blog.

Babu Santa --- one of the best beaches I have ever been to so far! It's like just 2 hours away from Davao City. Yes, it's that far but I assure you, super worth the bumpy ride. A lot of tourists visits the island in a short while, mostly people who are island hopping and scuba divers, they usually spend an hour or two on the island to eat lunch and chill. Just like we did. But we din't avail the island hopping tour, we just go there with our stuff and spent the night over. Also met a lot of good friends! It was unexpected though 'coz they were on the resort before ours so we actually din't think of meeting friends there, well except for the locals. But it's a good thing since they were really fun and super accommodating! Shout out to the squad <3 Thanks for the good food too! It's so much fun that I don't even wanna leave the island #SEApanx. It's a remote island, means it has limited time using electricity, there's a bad reception, no internet connection, limited water (which you really have to secure!), but oh my goodness, unlimited fun! Yes, I can't stop using fun --- okay, euphoric x nostalgic!

Babu Santa is located in Island Garden City of Samal, Talikud Island. From the word "Talikud" or "likod" which means back, is literally at the back and tip of Samal. To know more about the history of the Island, go check out this page. I will also post "How to Get There" and stuff like that below. Enjoy the photos and the long post <3

HOW TO GET TO BABU SANTA, TALIKUD ISLAND

1.) From Davao City proper, take a ride (cab, jeepney or if you have private car, much better) going to Sta. Ana Wharf. It's near Magsaysay Park.

2.) There's a regular boat ride schedule from 10am and 3pm daily. Boats going to Talikud Island are Pacific Boat, Jessa Boat, Shirly Boat, Gracee Boat. Boat fee is Php 65 only each person. The boat will drop you at the nearest port of Talikud Island. From the port, you have to ride a motorcycle that will take you to Babu Santa. Motorcycle/Habal-habal ranges from Php 50-65 each person.

From Davao City - Talikud Island is approximately 1hour travel.

From Talikud Port - Babu Santa is approximately 45mins to 1hour.

3.)If you're the adventurous type of person, you can take a bus from Kaputian. Which is 2x longer travel than taking the pump boat. From Davao City, take a cab going to Sasa Wharf and pay for the ferry fee which is also the entrance fee of Php10, that will dock at Babak Port. From there, take a motorcycle that will take you to Penaplata bus stop -- there's a bus going to Kaputian Island, 45mins to 1 hour drive. Arriving in Kaputian, take a fishing boat going to Talikud Island. It's kinda pricy if you're traveling alone. So it's so much better when you're grouped. You can also negotiate the price of how much if going directly to Babu Santa.

THINGS TO BRING TO A REMOTE ISLAND

1.) FOOD & WATER. As I have said, there's a very limited supply of clean water in the island. Like, you have to pay for every gallon of fresh water. While in the city, bring lots of water for drinking and cooking. Taking a bath is optional if you really wanna feel the island life. ;)

2.) SHELTER. If you want to live like an island girl, bring hammock or mat. Find a shady spot and voila! you're good to go. But don't forget to bring jackets and blankets. Like the thick ones. I swear to the ocean, it's freezing at night to dawn! Good thing my friend bought a blanket. If she hasn't, I'd freeze to death!

3.) POWER BANK/S. Is going to be your new best friend if you're planning to stay a night or two in the island. LIMITED ELECTRICITY AND YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR IT TOO! We all know why. So if I were you, before going to a remote island like this one. Fully charge everything you gonna use. GoPro's, Smart Phones, Speaker, etc. You don't wanna miss a photo op not be able capturing that moment, do you?

4.) SWIMSUITS. If you're not afraid of getting dark, then wear something you're comfortable with. Flaunt that body of yours! It's summer anyways.

5.) GOOD COMPANY. You don't wanna spoil your vacation if you're with people you don't like, right? So tell your squad to get off that couch and actually start living! Enjoy precious moments of life, you will never know unless you try something new.

The first day was all gloomy and chill! We spent the whole afternoon dipping in that crystal-like beach they have! Aahhh! I can still feel it! LOL!

So you see, it feels like you own the island (but you don't) and it's all yours because tourists leave the island around 2pm and it's so rare to people having to stay over unless you really want to. Just like we did!

If you ever visit the island, don't forget to try their buko! Fresh from the tree. It's Php25/each and it's super sweet! <3 Top that island girl of yours.

Next morning

I woke up really early because it's so called that I was shivering. So I decided to walk on the strip alone since my other friends was still asleep. Took this panoramic view at 6 in the morning. What do you think?

When the sun's starting to rise, I decided to go back to sleep since it's not freezing anymore. I know, I love to sleep anywhere!

Let me take you to a place where the water meets the sky! I could actually live here. But I won't promise. Haha! I just thought of "what if I'll leave everything in the city and move here for good? What will happen to me?" Neh, it was just too early I was thinking too much.

Go take a dip at 7am onwards coz the water is super clear. It's like you're in a pool but it's not, and it's salty (but don't get too excited and put sunblock!)

I miss this one already! Look how calm and nice the water is. I love how this beautiful island is unspoiled by irresponsible tourists. Keep the ocean clean, people!

BOODLE FIGHT is not literally a "fight". It's more like a feast with numerous viand and lots of rice prepared on a banana leaf. TOO GOOD! <3

SEAparation Anxiety strikes again! It's really more fun in the Philippines! I'm so thankful to live in a tropical country like ours. Davao is soooo blessed with weather, nature and unspoiled beaches like this one. I totally recommend this island to everyone who wants to leave the stress in the city. Never mind the bad reception... just enjoy the scenery and the beach! I love how I'm here and not looking at my phone, not worrying about something not worth it. It's just plain happiness and shaka! SummerFrolic 2015: Feast on Waves

The long wait is over! Whoosh - but let me tell you the bad news... this is going to be a very long post because duhhh, #SummerFrolic2015. Don't fight with me on this! Ok ok, let me start with greeting you all a very merry summer 2015! Yup, in the Philippines and other Asian countries (and even other parts of the world), it's already burning hot that's why people are flocking to different islands and beaches nearby. Good thing we live in a tropical country ;) If you have been my reader from the very beginning, you would know that SummerFrolic has been a huge part of my life. It's because a.) it's held in my most favorite city which is Mati City, Davao Oriental - 3 hour drive away from Davao City; b.) it's organized by FrolicFox Productions (thank you btw for the awesome lineup and set up!); and c.) I was still with the same squad as last year! Things that I'm excited about summer is that I get to hangout with my friends and family, go to beaches, stay up late, drink cold, iced beer... make s'mores and stuff like that. Plus, you always get to meet new friends which is nice. Enjoy the long post!

Day/Night One

To be honest, my friends and I aren't supposed to be going... it's really sad! But all of a sudden, we quickly made up our minds to just go.. whatever happens, we should go so we did! We took a van from Davao to Mati. Van is much faster (3 hour travel) than bus which happens to be 5-6 hours and we don't have much enough time since it's already 4pm! Some of our friends were already in Mati so it was just kinda okay since we aren't gonna wait for someone anymore. Around 7pm, we arrived safely in Mati City. Here's a secret, we have no accommodation AT ALL! Can you imagine going to a place having nowhere to stay for 2 nights and everything is fully occupied already, is insane but then God is good, after almost an hour searching for a hotel, inns, motel, pension houses, we were able to book one!And it was a hotel! Thank goodness for the people who backed out in the very last minute. Take note, we haven't ate yet and we didn't mind our growling tummies. So we checked in, it was a really good room with wifi and flat screen TV, plus it's airconditioned so we weren't complaining. At around 8:30, we were preparing for our stuff, ate at the Baywalk Grill and then headed to La-ne's Kapalhayan which is beside Botona. If you're familiar then you would know! ;)

And so we arrived. Upon entrance, we bought our tickets and got our entry passes. Compared to last year, the place, stage, designs, etc., is much more bigger and better! And this year has been jam packed with tourists, as usual. Saw a lot of familiar faces too. SummerFrolic 2015 has made it to the next level! All the decors and lights and the dance floor has nothing compared last year. I think they made a good job! *winks*

'Twas still really early when we arrive in La-ne's so we looked for our other friends which was checked-in at the tent city. I think it took us an hour to look for each other since there were a lot of people and the tent city is huge!

Let me tell you another secret: I've a huge crush on Marc Marasigan! Actually, not only me but my other friends too. Haha! We went loco when he waved at us (video is on my Instagram) and then he "favorited" our tweets! Eeeekkkk! <3

The party finished at around 5am (if I'm not mistaken, since we left earlier because it's cold and we were wet from the artificial rain from the dance floor!)

Day/Night Two

We partied responsibly last night, jsyk! :) We din't even get hangover because I promised to myself that I'm not going to drink too much just like last year when I sprained my ankle. LOL! Let's not talk about that anymore. But we woke up really late, I think it was already lunch.

It's always our ritual that on the second day, we should be by the beach every sunset! For pictorial purposed. Need I say more? :p

Night two! Aaahhh I'm getting speechless. I'm getting emotional coz I miss Frolic already :'( All the fuzz and good happenings are now memories I'm going to cherish forever. Tomorrowland feels <3

All the color dash, paint, foam and water were perfect! Except the fact that the holi powder were inside my eyes! I thought I was going blind but thank God, I didn't. I don't know if I'm going to be happy about it.. or not. It's just that I think too much color powder and paint are not good. Ooops, don't kill me it's just my opinion. But anyway, it's no one's fault since we were literally in front. Still, thanks for making us colorful though our clothes aren't recognizable anymore. Geez! Haha!

Day Three

Aaahhh, it was a good day in Mati though it rained in the morning but still... the sun came out in the afternoon. Likewise, baywalk rituals with the squad! <3

We never leave Mati without having a photo with the ginormous I <3 Mati sign along baywalk. Yup, it's free and anyone may enter!

AWESOME. Yup, it wasn't a bad decision to be in SummerFrolic once again. Frolic Fox never fails to put a smile on our faces. The event was so colorful and vibrant! For a moment, we forgot about reality. #WeLived

Have you ever thought about going to a place where you never imagined you will fall in love with it? If you ask me, life is so much better in Mati. Life is simple. People are so accommodating. It's less traffic! The beach is beyond perfect. And if you just want to relax, lay on the sand. Read a book, listen to your favorite band, or simply chill. But wait, there will always be a negative side of anything good. People will take a photo of the trashes on the beach and putting it on social medias, and blaming the producers. Please don't. Instead of pinpointing other people, why not start doing something. Yes, tourists, hence, irresponsible tourists may forget that Dahican is a beach - a beautiful one - but hey, they are just people too. It's okay to tell each other that we should value and take good care of the beach and nature. Being rude leads to nowhere so we should all calm down, and live responsibly, respect what's theirs and to all the residents. A piece of advice, instead of posting it on social medias creating a scenario, why not get those trash like a normal person. In that way, "nakatulong ka pa sa environment mo". Even I would do that, not only on the beach but anywhere! Littering should have a consequence, but unfortunately we don't have it here in our country. Like, "it's not a big deal". So all I'm just saying is that, you don't have to pinpoint anyone. That's really rude. Even the organizers of the event. I know they're also doing their jobs, telling people not to litter simply because it's their place. No one wants a dirty place, unless you do? And if you see someone litters, confront them in a well-mannered way.

I've been to Mati (Dahican) numerous times already and I've never even try surfing once, guess I'm just too scared of the ginormous waves. Seriously! It was insanely crazy that I tumble in the water -- no joke!

Canibad Escapade

Summer is just around the corner - totes agree! But in my case, I came in a little earlier at the same time, queen of late. What's new? Lol! I actually forgot this blog post that was supposed to be posted last year. Say whaaaat! Hence, October 2014. I don't know if I was really busy (which I am) or totally, accidentally forgot about this. Oh my goodness, how could I possibly. It's the beach for crying out loud. And it's definitely not your ordinary paradise, but a virgin island, one hour away from the city called Canibad. It's literally located in the remote area, signal is weak, but the view is great!

When you're planning to get out of the city, escape the noise and toxic and adventurous enough to climb up cliffs, well, Canibad is the right place for you! I've been to this island numerous times already with good and fun company of course, and honestly saying, the island has never failed to put a huge smile on my face. It's majestic! The island is undeveloped, so you can see different fishes near the shore, the water is as blue as sky, clear as crystal and definitely calm. Enjoy all the photos below and might want you to come and visit the paradise.

Come in group and enjoy the scenery! I also suggest bring a lot of food. You can cook and do whatever in the island. But there are also locals (who lives in the island) that can do the cooking for you, of course with a fee!

If you really want to experience the same, leave the city early, like 7 in the morning. Pack up your things, make sure to bring some cash (because ATM machines are not available in the area), your camera, bikinis, and your self! ;)

HOW TO GET TO CANIBAD, SAMAL ISLAND:

IF YOU ARE FROM DAVAO CITY (COMMUTING)

1.) RIDE THE JEEPNEY THAT HAS SASA SIGN BOARD ON IT GOING TO SASA WHARF.

2.) IF YOU DON'T WANT TO RIDE THE JEEP, THERE IS ALWAYS A BUS AVAILABLE GOING TO SASA WHARF (BARGE) AND DIRECTLY OFF TO PENA PLATA BUS TERMINAL.

3.) WHEN YOU ARRIVE TO PENA PLATA (WHICH IS 20-30 MINUTE DRIVE FROM SAMAL PROPER), RENT A "HABAL-HABAL" (BIG MOTORCYCLE THAT HAS A CAPACITY OF 4 INCLUDING THE DRIVER) GOING TO CANIBAD WHICH IS 45 MINUTES TO 1 HOUR DRIVE FROM PENA PLATA. THE COST OF HABAL HABAL IS 150 PER PERSON.

4.) AFTER A 1 HOUR DRIVE, YOU HAVE TO HIKE DOWN TO REACH THE SHORE. THE STEPS ARE REALLY STEEP AND SLOPE-Y SO YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFUL.

5.) THERE ARE SEVERAL RESORTS SURROUNDING THE ISLAND. USUALLY, WE ARE STAYING IN SECRET PARADISE OR HIDDEN PARADISE. THOSE TWO ARE REALLY NEAR, WALKING DISTANCE. BUT I SUGGEST YOU STAY IN HIDDEN PARADISE IF YOU WANT TO BE CLOSE TO THE CLIFF DIVING AREA.

6.) THERE ARE CORRESPONDING PRICES TO EVERY RESORTS BUT IT RANGES TO 5PESOS TO A HUNDRED SO THERE'S NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT WHEN YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT BUDGET. THE ISLAND IS 100% SAFE AND DEFINITELY WORTH THE SWEAT!

7.) TAKE SOME PHOTOS. RELAX. ENJOY. WANDER. AND NEVER LEAVE THE ISLAND WITHOUT EXPERIENCING CLIFF DIVING!

I can't believe 2014 is ending too soon! Personally, it has been great for me in so many levels. This year, I accomplished so many things and I've been through a lot of ups and downs. I lost a lot of people but on the brighter side, I gained tons and I am beyond blessed and grateful to everyone who has been and still is part of my life. To be honest, 2014 taught me a lot of lessons, from family to friends and everything in between. So before this great year is saying goodbye, I am sharing to you below the special moments I've experienced in the past 365 days with the people I trust the most. Below is my #YearInReview and I hope you had a fun year as much as I do!

February-March | OJT in The Queen City of the South (Blog post here)

March 14 On that day, I turned 18 and it may not be as fancy as others (since I did not ask for any party) but it was a very special day for me (not just because it's my day) but I spent it with my father. If you know me too well, you know I'm not that close to my pops, maybe because he has been a very busy man ever since I was young, and still is today. That's why my family calls me THE "Mama's Girl" always! My Mom naman is in Africa, yes, she works there. Amazing, right? Btw, always wanna go explore the country. She wasn't able to make it to my birthday but I was still touched by her long ass message. I love you Mum!

March 16 Araw ng Dabaw - Street Party and the people went loco over the party! Met a lot of new friends and covered in paint and color powders plus beer. It was a very crazy night that I was suppose to go to the other party (Liberalia) which was located on the other side of where I was... like really far from my current location, and wasn't able to make it through because of the crowd! There was a lot of people everywhere and I was near the stage that I can't make it to the taxi cab lane. And the fact that my friend (who was already in Liberalia bought me a ticket!) Really crazy that I have to cancel it. But on the other side, I had a great time!

I forgot when was this but I know it's still during March, my birthday month. Since 2 of my barkadas celebrate their birthday on the same month, they surprised us with a humongous pizza from S&R which I wasn't really expecting. AT ALL! It was a calm afternoon and I was really starving that I could eat a person, but since I'm not a cannibal, I didn't do so. LOL! Just kidding xx Thank you friends! You're just simply the best.

I LOVE GOING TO PARTIES... before. I don't know, it has just got into me that "I'm too old to party and it's time to just... CHILL". Yes, it's fun, but it gets boring somehow. But I'd still love to go to Tomorrowland too, soon! ;)

April 4-5 | Y'all know that the very highlight of my 2014 is this. Summerfrolic 2014 which was held in Dahican, Mati, Davao Oriental. It was THE BOMB, I tell you! (Read my long post about this event here #Summerfrolic2014 , just click the link) I am so looking forward to next year's Summerfrolic. I heard it's gonna be bigger and 10x better!

May 16-17 | Ahhh, SarBay Fest. One of the craziest crowds I've ever been to in my life. This year, I got to spend it with one of my closest friends since high school daze!

Black IS Everything

'Tis the season... to be more okay with life.

I have 3 more months left in College. I am both excited and nervous about that!! Oh my goodness. This is it. The real life is it! Last 2 weeks ago, our thesis adviser finally gave us our final and finished product and dude, it was finally submitted in hardbound. Thankful, grateful, blessed and beyond happy about it! All the hard work, efforts, sleepless nights, and everything in between is finally paid off!

"I sprained both of my ankles". Yes, it's true! I wasn't able to walk for 2 weeks straight. It was a very long story and I don't wanna talk about it anymore :(

2014? A VERY GREAT YEAR! Despite of all the calamities, disasters, wars, that happened this year, everyone who is alive and tryna be alive is thinking the brighter side of life. Which I am too! But this year, I lost a lot of people whom I trusted a lot. It was heartbreaking and sad, honestly speaking. And I don't want to think about it, but because of them, I gained so much nicer people. And to the friends I considered already my family who stayed with me all the time. Maybe not physically all the time but they were there when I needed them, when I needed someone to talk to. And you know who you are, always think that I am always here for you guys too no matter what. I am just a text away whenever you need me. 2014 taught me to be brave, to be independent, to choose the people to share your secrets to and stuff like that.

That it's okay not to be okay... sometimes, it's okay to say "no" if you don't really want to, it's okay to cry if it's really heavy in your heart, that you have to say sorry to that particular person if you've done sh*t to him/her, it's okay to let go of things that is a burden to you, that you don't have to be perfect for people to like you and the most and most important thing is... you have to be yourself no matter what.

Wishing everyone a happy and prosperous 2015! Let's start the year by being more optimist and always thank Him through ups and downs in life. Work harder on things you want to accomplish and start a day with a smile. Live your life the way you want to and don't let anyone hinder that dream and keep your feet on the ground. Always.

*To anyone who is having a hard time right now, I pray that you'll get through whatever that burden you have inside you. Always pray to God because He's the one who can help you at times when you feel like giving up. Be strong and always remember; STORMS DON'T LAST FOREVER.

*To anyone who is living life to the fullest, don't stop chasing that dream you have but always keep in mind to moderate all the things you do. Having too much is bad and if you have spare, learn to give and share it to others too, and you'll be blessed more than you could ever imagine. Do something today that your future self will thank of.

I just found a new obsession just few clicks away - say hello to VSCO Cam. This app allows me to play with their numerous filters and presets which is totally everything I wanted. If you have been following me on Instagram, I don't publish a photo without adding hashtags that corresponds VSCO cam. Taking your photos to a whole new level and I must say that this is the number one app I use most of the time whenever! Since I'm using iPhone 5, and doesn't carry much around my DSLR (for the reason of it weighs like a baby!), 95% of my Instagram feed is captured using my iPhone. Besides, I don't have a problem with it since it takes a good photo quality, plus it's very lite and handy!

Hover over, all the photos posted here are all mine. I just don't feel like putting watermarks on it 'coz I think it might ruin a good shoot, aye? I know, some of you are not on Instagram, I just thought of sharing some of the photos I posted there to here, and my other excuse is, I don't have anything else on the list so here are my entries. I like to keep consistency in posting my photos (possibly), it should always be landscape - not squared, but landscape. I use InstaSize (available on App Store and Android) all the time, from photos to videos! Instagram is like my mini photo blog and personal blog, a remedy of this blog at time when I can't update it (for too long!). I hate it when I'm being told what I should do. Hello! It's my account, go mind your own business. Don't tell me what to do because I know what I'm doing. Anyway, as you can see, I love seeing my work in an "artsy" situation. Bold and open! I like weird, faded, but not overrated. I am also a huge fan of some Instagram-ers who always wander around. Who shares their work everyday and see different things in different places. They're such an inspiration!

Before I end this post, let me tell you something. Generally speaking I would like you all to be aware that before you post something or anything on the internet, think. Why? Consider it permanent. You might think that people won't care about "it" but little do you know, someone might copy/steal that post without asking your permission or your awareness. Yes, we are free to express our feelings but mind you, some people are not like you. Some might take advantage of it, plus be concise on spreading news. People hates hoax and false information especially when it's something serious. Yes, it's fun. I, myself totally agree with that. But personally, never give too much information on the internet especially if it's strange or you don't know who that person is. There's so much going on in just one click. Let me tell you a little secret of mine... I am such a Queen of all late! I mean, I totally admit it to myself but I couldn't care less. LOL! This post is suppose to be for August (right after Kadayawan Festival) but as you can see, it turned out to be posted today. Now, the long wait is over. Today, I'm going to share to you my very first Spectrum Experience. Last August 16, 2014, during the celebration of the famous Kadayawan Festival was the Spectrum Experience: Invasion Tour goes to Davao, entitled Kadayawan Invasion 2014. I know! It's the ever first Spectrum Experience in Davao City despite of so much forbidden and prohibited stuff here, they still pushed through the invasion because the organizers knew that people here in Davao loves music! Who doesn't?! The lineup was amazing, the people were excited about it, and the crowd gone wild all throughout the party! What is more exciting is having the best company you could ever think of. I've been to so much music festivals in the country, and Spectrum Experience is totally on my checklist. More fun photos below!

So basically, we don't go to outdoor music festivals as soon as the gates starting to open. They normally sets it to 3PM and in our case, we are still preparing by that time, on what to wear + make up! (For girls! Hello?!) LOL! And always make sure to fully charged your gadgets. Trust me, you don't wanna miss a single moment during the event. You're lucky enough if you still have 5% battery left on your phone after the party ends.

TIPS ON HOW TO SURVIVE THE MADNESS

1.) Buy your tickets before the event to avoid the long haul. Trust me, you don't wanna spend half of your time lining up just to get the ticket, right? Usually, you just have to check time to time on their official websites or social medias on where to buy tickets and who are the official sellers of the tickets. Make sure to buy the official and legit!

2.) If you are a first timer, invite and gather all of your friends to accompany you, and I assure you it'd be one of your memorable nights!

3.) Always choose your clothes and shoes! Wear light and comfortable #ootd's to the party. A little advice, there's nothing wrong with plain white shirt tacked in to high-waist denim shorts! Pick up sneakers instead of sandals or worse, high heels. You don't need them right now plus, who can freakin' dance on a very high heeled shoes, anyway!? Have mercy on your feet, girls.

4.) On make ups, I suggest you don't need to wear one. Especially, if it's a neon-paint-themed party! Usually, we put it on our faces and design it by ourselves.

5.) Don't bring humongous bag! Why? First, it's very very annoying when you are in the crowd, dancing. You might get to hit someone! Two, gosh it's a huge bag? Are you gonna travel or what! Three, wear the mini-sling bag that can fit your money, cellphones,and your ticket + lipstick! Personally, I don't bring any bags. My friends and I just leave it inside of the car and we'll just take our money(not the whole amount), phone/s, and in my case, lipstick and I just put 'em in my pocket.

6.) We can't predict the weather, especially at night! So make sure to secure your gadgets and wear them some waterproof cases. Usually, it rains, or sometimes, it rains beer so you just have to deal with whether you'll get wet by people throwing beers or El Hombre or whatever it is (hopefully, without the bottle! LOL!)

7.) Don't spoil the night by getting too drunk. People hates it. I hate it. And you don't want to miss out the fun til the end, right? Drink moderately! If you're my friend, and reading this section right here. You know what I mean ;) If I were you, I should just probably enjoy the night with my friends and dance 'til our feet hurts, and sing out the lyrics of our favorite song/s, and shout out loud to the top of our lungs. You'll thank me later! :)

There you have it, my own tips on how to survive a night-long music festival/party. I'm not just referring to THIS party, but to any music festivals you'll be going. Hope I helped you outta this. Personally, I love going to music festivals. It's my thing. It's my friends' thing. We love music so much that it happens to be our stress-reliever. Kadayawan 2014

At long last! I could finally able to face my laptop, review my photos, edit it a little, put watermarks on each, and the most awaited, to blog! Oh my gosh, I am the busiest person could be, I'm actually in the midst of my long trip in college (graduating!). To be honest, as much as I want to post an entry, I couldn't seem to find spare time on doing it. From the past months that I'm away with you guys (actually, just here but I feel like away-away), I've been thinking of "what am I gonna post", "where would I could possibly be", and such. I missed so much of blogging that I forgot how stuff works! LOL! Good thing, after almost 2 months, I am finally here, ready to share what is suppose to. If you happen to know, last August was the celebration of Kadayawan Festival 2014. To those people who doesn't know what "Kadayawan" means...

The Kadayawan Festival is an annual festival in the city of Davao in the Philippines. Its name derives from the friendly greeting "Madayaw", from the Dabawenyo word "dayaw", meaning good, valuable, superior or beautiful. The festival is a celebration of life, a thanksgiving for the gifts of nature, the wealth of culture, the bounties of harvest and serenity of living.

If you happen to be one of my readers, I've posted some entries from last year's Kadayawan Festival. I even joined Hulagway sa Kadayawan, but this year, due to lack of time all because of school stuff and being in college, I wasn't able to submit my entry on time. It was really a big deal for me since I've been joining the photography contest since 2012 but I thought of "next year will be so much better". Right? :) To make the long story short, my friend (Dina) and I was out on a very sunny day on the 16th of August to do our thing. Be ready to read and see the photos to one of my longest blog post entry ever!

When you're in Davao, people here are hospitable. We always smile because people believe that there is no reason to frown. (Cheesy!) Honestly, Davao offers a lot. Adventure, leisure, food, attractions, people, and everything you could ever imagine. Though, there are a lot of prohibitions in Davao. You just have to follow the rules if you're ever to wander here. Nevertheless, you will really really enjoy this city.

If you happen to be here during Kadayawan and experienced the colorful festival, then you know what it is. Have you seen their costumes?! It's amazing! The details and designs were gorgeous and it happens to be nice on the camera. Thank you, Canon! ;)

It was burning hot, and by hot I mean I feel like the sun is about to kiss me anytime of the day. But still, the contingents were all smiling, performing their best-est, and shouting at the top of their lungs. After we had photowalk and shoot, my face and neck was all sun burnt! Funny thing was, it formed like a fancy necklace. Lesson learned, always put sunscreen at all times.

It's always nice to see and experience so much stuff especially when you're a festival-lover-kind-of-person. To be honest, including on my bucket list is to travel to different places here in the country and see amazing festivals. I find it really interesting! Oh how I wish I have a travel buddy *wink*

Last June 28, my friends and I went to Digos city to attend the celebration of "Araw ng Davao del Sur". Luckily, one of our closest friends lives there so we don't have to worry about accommodation (and food! Thank you Kim). The famous outdoor (and indoor) party organizer, The Manic Nightnings Productions came up with the party entitled Festique: EDM FESTIVAL. It was wicked! Well, if you happen to be following me on Instagram, you know what I'm talking about. Hence, I totally miss blogging AND I have so much stuff lined up for you next month. I'm so excited to share it to you, my loves! Going back to the party, it was on the evening when we left Davao City. It was drizzling on the way but thank goodness it stopped somewhere. Lost at Sea

Summer has officially ended --- I don't like the term but I can't do anything about it. But before all the sadness overflow, let me take you to a paradise called Isla Reta. The resort is located at Talikud Island, IGACOS. It's far from the hustle and bustle life in the city plus it's just an hour away from Davao by taking the boat. It's already June and we have to make the most out of what's left before school starts by Monday! I have the busiest schedule this time. Boy oh boy! Really fully loaded but thank God for no Saturday classes! Alright, back to the post. I just had an amazing weekend with my college friends. It's my first time to go to Isla Reta and it's such a beauty! I could live there and bonus to the fast 3G connection. LOL! Oh, I tell you, the water is just as clear as crystal and the sand is fine as powder. They also have rooms/cottages which we had stayed at over the night, it's cozy and nature-y too. If I'd rate the place, I give it a 10/10!

My friends and I went up early to enjoy the sun and the beach. I think I got darker, just a bit because I can't risk my skin for getting too tanned! And if you really don't want to get dark, swim at mornings and put on some sunscreen protection always.

Embrace the sun! Sometimes, I wish some moments never ended. I have to say, I love Summer 2014. I should make a memory capsule of the summary of my Summer 2014 soon! I'm hoping I could go to Siargao and Baler by next summer though. I always wanted to try surfing there, I heard the waves there are too awesome! ;)

Snap! We have to leave and face again the reality. Like what I said, I wish some days lasted forever! Another amazing time with my friends and this huling hirit sa tag-init escapade literally made my summer really sunny and yes, I'd love to go back anytime soon. Probably going to try different islands too in Samal!

I'm thankful I live in a tropical country. LOL! No, really, I say, Philippines is just gorgeous. It's abundant in so many things. Been searching so many destinations and oh boy, I never knew there are still a lot of checklist I need to do here in my own native land before I die! From highlands to Islands, different destinations and so much activities awaits. I would really love to travel after I graduate in College... soon! It must be so fun to experience different culture even for just days. I have one year left in college and I should do my best in it, hopefully. Since I'm also a Tourism student, I should really check out what this country really offers. But for now, I'm gonna leave you with all the photos and stuff above. It's been a week or so since SarBay Fest 2014 took place! I am super excited to share this with you guys the moment I got back to my place but I was a bit unlucky to transfer our gazillion photos on my laptop because of some instances. Long story! Anyway, as far as I remember, I had so much fun with my friends on the 2-day event. We were boozin' like a boss! Being at the BIGGEST BEACH FESTIVAL IN MINDANAO is sick! Can you imagine having 120,000 attendees (and I'm one of them)! If you're following them (Sarangani Bay Festival) on Facebook, then you would know what the heck I'm talking about. Since it's my second year attending the festival, I'm really happy to meet new people there from different places in the Philippines and hanging out with my good ol' friends. I saw a lot of familiar faces at SarBay too which is nice! I just had a great weekend, and to make this long story short... take a peek of the fest! (Photo taken by Cocoy Sexcion)

Quick reminder! You should always have a backup for your phone; like a spare battery or powerbank, which is really very helpful at all times! But in my case, I wasn't able to buy powerbank/powercase for my iPhone ahead of time. I saw a lot of my friends at SarBay but the thing was, my phone is just too drained to function. Really a bad timing! But either way, first night was amazing! (See photos and videos on my Instagram account!)

Second day/night was my favorite. We went to this sassy mall in GenSan called Veranza (photo above) It's so cool, they have two twin falls at the back of their mall which is probably the main attraction.

When you're at SarBay, even at night is really humid. I was sweating like a pig all the time and you really need to re-hydrate every single time though they sell bottled water in a very very high price so it's better to have yours stock in the car or tent or anywhere!

Personally, the best part of this year's SarBay Fest was the 10-minute firework show. It was grand and really amazing! I wish I could share the video here but I'm bad at editing. Plus, I posted a video on YouTube but it has something unrecognizable by Google+. The fireworks this year was way different than last year! And can you imagine that there were approximately 120,000 people who attended this year's SarBay!!! I KNOW! I just freaked out when Sarangani Bay Fest's official facebook page posted it. I'm so glad that my friends and I were part of the madness!

I just did party my heart out at this year's SarBay Fest and I'm proud I'm with Team Davao forever!

SarBay Fest is getting bigger and bigger each year. A lot of people coming over to experience the Boracay in the South and I assure you that it really is beautiful. I say, you should visit this other side of the country that will truly captivate your love of sea! It's nice that Sarangani is coping up with the growth of Tourism Industry and it's really awesome how it grows each year. With the population of a hundred thousandth or so, Sarangani will be one of the top tourist spots and a must be destination in the country by the moment you'll know it. FIRST FOR MAY - Forgive me for delaying this blog post that was supposedly posted on the last week of April. And guess what! It's already May and almost making its way to the second week. LOL! I've been so busy doing some personal stuff from the past few weeks and I was waiting for some mails to arrive but due to holiday/s, it has been postponed. Anyway, to get this straight... I know, everyone (or maybe almost everyone) is counting the days for SarBay Fest 2014! Count me in because I, too is excited! I've been also saving up and listing down some of the things I need for the 2-day beach festival. Hence, Mindanao's Biggest Beach Festival. It's extremely advisable to be prepared and give allowance ahead of time than on or one day before, and you should always have to list down all the things you will bringing to the event. In my case, I always double check the things I'm bringing and going to use whenever I travel especially when the event/venue is beyond far from my home. Why? It is because sometimes, at some point, there might be some cases of losing stuff especially when there are too many people or simply because you're just clumsy on losing things.

SarBay Fest is a free-for-all-festival. That means ANYONE can/may go. Most of the people that are attending are checking in to resorts in Gumasa or hotels/inns/pension houses in GenSan. Unlike in any other known and touristy beach destinations, Gumasa has just minimum amount of rooms that can occupy hundreds or so tourists so you really have to reserve and book months before the actual event or else you'll end up staying in tent, that's why most of the people that are coming to SarBay Fest will be staying in tent city which means they are camping in for 2 days.

Here, I'll show you my hot picks to bring for SarBay Fest 2014. It's actually my second year to attend the biggest beach festival in Mindanao. It excites me even more because I'll be going with some of my closest high-school friends. Later, before this blog post ends, I'll give you some tips on how to survive the madness in the 2-day beach festival. But before that, let me show you the stuff I scored in such low prices and real good-finds!

Bikinis/Swimwear

1.) Cheetah Print (Neon)

Animal prints are oh-so trendy right now. I guess it never goes out of style! I love the fact that this bikini combined with animal print and my ultimate obsession, neon! It's so catchy and I love how vibrant it is. Super perfect for this summer!

2.) Watermelon Combination

This one is simple yet the color combination is considered as the always summer colors. Neon pink and lime green always a go-go! When you try to mix 'n match colors, make sure that it doesn't lack vibrancy.

3.) Turquoise Mayhem

Man oh man! I've been looking all over to find crotchet tops and finally I found one and it's black, it matches every color you want for your bottom and cover up! Pretty much all of the bikinis above are my favorites.

1.) Monopod (Pink)

This is one of the most trendiest thing you could find almost anywhere and everywhere! Everyone seems to have one and I say, it's very useful especially when you're an outgoing person who just don't want to miss every scenario on the trip. You can order this on Instagram!

2.) 3-in-1 Lenses

I am obsessed with the lenses! It's very chic and artsy plus it's very useful to take landscapes or anything especially when you're too lazy to use your way too heavy DSLR! 3.) iPhone 5/5s Cases

I actually have tons of cases collection. The case I use the most during parties is the blue one (or aquamarine). I think it's just perfectly made to protect every corner of my phone.

4.) Waterproof Bag for iPhone

As promised, I finally got myself this neon colored waterproof bag from Vanity Closet (on Instagram) today. I am so ready for SarBay Fest! This is just perfect for outdoor parties or whatever since there will be a lot of thing we might want to consider like the foam party or what else. I don't have to worry anymore about my phone since it's in safe somehow. Tip: You should get and buy yours now before your phone/s, cash, etc will soak in water!

1.) Caress Nail polish

I'm a massive nail polish addict. I have different colors and since it's summer, I'm picking up neon... mostly neon nail polish. It's perfect for festivals!

2.) Vitress Hair Polish

I always make sure to polish my hair whenever I go out, besides who wants a freezy hair anyways.

3.) Sunscreen

We all know that it's whatever degrees Celsius high outside especially when you're at the beach. Since Philippines is a 100% tropical country, it's very important to protect your skin against UVA & UVB. So don't forget to put on sunscreen all over your body and face if you want to enjoy the sun and the beach!

4.) Mascara, Eyelash curler, Lipstick and blush-on

These stuff are always in my bag. I never go out of the house without putting on mascara and lipstick. Just those simple things and you're good to go. A piece of advice, just don't overuse in putting on some make-up especially when you live in a tropical country like Philippines because it's freakin' 40 degrees Celsius outside and trust me, instead of looking adorbs on your new make-up, you'll end up looking like a flower that din't get enough water. So ladies; lipstick, powder (and sometimes mascara) are all enough. Either way, always remember that you are beautiful when you're you.

TIPS ON HOW TO SURVIVE SARBAY FEST 2014

We all know that there will be a lot of people coming in from different places in the country to witness and experience the once a year event which tons of people, including me, are waiting for. And mostly, we are all coming with different group of people and good company. SarBay Fest is a one of a kind beach festival since it's open to all. Like, anyone can go and everyone's invited since it's free and you don't have to worry for your tickets. A.) Camping sites are also available along the Gumasa strip. You don't have to worry on where to get your B.) food & drinks since there will be hundreds of stalls and kiosks from different fast food chains, barbecue houses, etc during the 2-day event. Maybe some of the prices gets a little bit higher but I assure you, it's very affordable and will surely satisfy your hungry like a beast tummy. A huge dining area will also be catered during the event. C.) Arts and crafts will also be sold in SarBay Fest. You can purchase a lot of native hand-made stuff like bracelets, necklaces, dream catchers and so much more from different kiosk there too. It's way more cheaper compared to the one that are sold in the cities.

1.) Always bring bottled water day/night when you are in Gumasa. Gumasa is like a combination of desert and beach. Hence, Gumasa is the name of the beach strip/island.

2.) Wear comfortable and lite clothes. It's very very hot during the day and you really need to find a shady spot for you and your friends (if you are not checking in to one of the resorts). Wear shorts and shirts that are not too cotton-y. Also, bring sunnies, hat, shawl, or whatever that you are comfortable using. During the day, there will be a lot of activities and contests that will be held just at the venue. You can enjoy it for free too!

3.) Bring jacket/s. When I say it's very hot during the day, I meant it. But when the clock strikes at midnight to dawn, it's freezing. You really have to double coat at night especially when you're going camping by the shore.

4.) Wear slippers/sandals. This has got into me that I can still see people who are going to the beach wearing sneakers (and worst, jeans). What on earth are you thinking? I'm no fashion enthusiast but come to the party on a decent clothes please. When it comes to footwear, flip flops will be perfect since it's sandy.

5.) Keep your belongings with you at all times. Before you head to SarBay Fest, always have this (waterproof) pouch or mini bag to keep your things in place. (i.e., cellphone/s, cash, power bank, lipstick) and make sure it has zippers/locks for thieves protection. Speaking of thieves, we really can't say that there will be a zero chance of not having those kind of people in the event, right? Though, there will be tons of police and police patrols roaming around the vicinity, we just have to be more extra careful with our stuff. Nonetheless, everyone wants to enjoy the night with a hassle-free time, right!

6.) PUT THAT SMILE ON AND HAVE FUN. Last year, there were 70,000 attendees (including me and my friends) for days 1 and 2. It was jam-packed with party people from different places and the fun part was, we met a lot of new friends there! Everyone is really friendly and humble.

Only less than 2 weeks more to go before SarBay Fest! I bet everyone's preparing and excited for Mindanao's Biggest Beach Festival. I really can't wait to be back this year! I think it's gonna be so much better and bigger. Watch out for second night because there will be a lot of surprises that you don't want to miss. Spontaneous adventures are always the best especially when you have one of the best companies ever! Last Tuesday, my good friend, Iris and I finally reunited after months of not being able to see and hangout with each other due to lack of time and believe it or not, we are always busy and booked! We decided to head to the beach and unwind for the whole long day. She's been one of my high school buddies back then but time changes and we have to separate ways to college (drama lol). It feels so good having back your closest friend with you to hangout again in ages plus it's already starting to heat up, Summer 2014! What makes it even more special is that, it's her first beach trip for Summer 2014, though, and I'm glad we spent it together. For those of you who don't know, Davao City proper is just minutes away from the gorgeous Samal Island. You just have to ride a barge or boat to get to the destination, usually barge is very accessible to everyone. You can go to Samal via barge anytime you want! It's very convenient to every tourist/s who wants to escape the hustle and bustle life in the city - even to our part as locals, if we have spare time and longer weekends, we always head to the beach to unwind. Speaking of the beach, we went to this beautiful resort called Villa Amparo. It's located at Sitio Dasag, Barangay Camudmud, Island Garden City of Samal. From Samal wharf, it's a 30-45 minute drive via motorcycle, private vehicle/s or you may avail their shuttle. To make the long story short, scroll down and see our photos using my Monopod and 3-in-1 lenses for the first time to the beach.

Personally, I love using monopod. Though it's kinda annoying to see the stick, but it's very useful. Compared to just normal kind of selfie and the fact that you have to ask a person to take a photo of you is kinda awkward and self-conscious kind of thing to most people I guess, well for me yes!

Having lens/lenses plus a monopod gives the photo a ginormous effect and it's really on trend right now. Believe or not, I'm sort of obsessed using the Fisheye lens. In the first place, I wanted to have a GoPro Hero3+ but it's really quite pricy and I still have to ask my parents about having it. I need a declaration and stuff like that, LOL!

During our day tour, we felt like we own the whole resort! It's really relaxing and all you can hear are birds tweeting and the ocean breeze (plus my chill playlist) - I am definitely attached to it! Though, it was on a low tide when we got there and we had to wait 'til 3 in the afternoon for the water to rise and for the high tide too. I tell you, the water is as clear as crystal, it's like you're just dipped into the pool but salty and more natural.

They have cottages, gazebo, and tons of amenities in the resort. It's a sure-win and satisfaction when you get there!

We arrived before lunch so we had all the time to rest and sleep and guess what, Iris literally fell asleep and here I am, fund of taking selfies and everything in between!

Technically, I don't know how to swim - BUT I am in love with the beach forever. I'm in love with the idea of sand and salt on my hair. And I swear to the pizza and fries, I love the sun so much that I wanna hug it. LOL! Sometimes, I wonder how's life when you live nearby the beach? I always want that. A beach house of my own, perhaps.

Nature is simply stunning, yet we, people destroys it. It's a sad fact but it's the reality now. We always wanted to promote the great side of a place yet we tend to forget that there's always a bad side of it. As a Tourism Student, it's very heartbreaking seeing the nature being taken down by force as well as to the people doing it. I get it, they do it for a living - they have to. Okay, now I'm being serious. I should get back to the post. Anyway, my point is that, in order to sustain a thing, we should maintain the way it is. We should take care of the nature that He has given to us. OMG! Apologies for being so preachy lately, lol!

Monopod and 3-in1 Lens

The handy stuff I used during our beach trip in Samal - I got my Monopod in Pink. Yes, it comes in 3 colors - Black, Blue and Pink. My friend Kim got the blue one and I have mine in pink. This monopod can be adjusted to how you long or short you want it to be. It is also connectable to one monopod to another to another and so on. See the bottom part of the handle? You may insert other monopod in there. See how useful it is? I never had the regrets of getting one for myself! If you wanna purchase it, check out my Instagram!

The famous 3-in-1 lenses

OMG! I finally have it. I've been longing to this for quite some time but I haven't seen a seller that is based in Davao. I am not fund of shipping and everything, I think it's very hassle and tricky. Plus shipment fees are extremely costly. I don't prefer doing that but a lot of people loves the idea of it. Maybe because it's convenient or something.

3-in-1 lenses is quite expensive but it's 90% cheaper than a GoPro. It also comes in different colors like Black, Red, Silver and Gold. I wanted the gold one but they're already out of stock. Sigh* Either way, it has the same function, still.

If you love taking a really very up-close photos, Macro lens is perfect for you!

Wide is just a basic kind of lens. But it's very perfect with landscapes!

What I use most of the time - Fisheye lens, I don't know but I love how it captures everything. From group of people to just a single you. It's perfect! It's what I used to most all of my photos above.

The lens clip - Oh and by the way, wide lens can be use with a macro lens attached only, if you don't have the macro then it's impossible to use the wide since they are always attached together.

ALWAYS PUT/ATTACH the lens cap/s after using the lens for dust protection and ETC!

It's very easy to use 3-in-1 lenses

1.) Make sure to attach the lens itself to the clip. Rest assure that it's on medium-tight and never loose to the clip to avoid cracks.

2.) Clip the lens to back or front camera of your smart phone; Like mine, I have my iPhone 5 with me and that's what I use all the time. It's okay to have it with or without case too.

3.) Make sure you have downloaded a "Timer-App" on App Store or Play Store. Mine is called "TimerCam" and it's free on App Store.

4.) TAKE A SELFIE and enjoy!

My friends and I had the BEST weekend so far! Sorry for the delay on posting this one, it's just I am not yet ready to finally put an end on the feast. It's so much fun especially with the best company I have during the weekend. And for the record, I met a lot of new people too which excites me more! Going back to the post, last April 4-5, #SummerFrolic was held at one of the best beaches in the country, Dahican which is located in Mati City, Davao Oriental -- 2-3 hour drive from Davao City (if you take a car or van) and 5 hours if you take the bus. I kinda, somehow toured my friends since it was both their first time! Around 10 in the morning, we arrived in the town. We went to La-Ne's Kan-anan to get our wristbands for the party. At first, we bought GA tickets when we were still in Davao, but the moment we arrived in the ticket area, we decided to upgraded our tickets to VIP since there were a lot of freebies and cool stuff to be given during the 2-night party! It was so hot that we were so confident going around the city even without a sunscreen! Either way, being back at the place you always wanted to be is such a relief! Mati will always be my favorite city no matter what. To make the long story short, here are some of my 2k++ photos from my camera roll from our 3-day escapade in Mati! Enjoy ;)

Since we decided to upgrade to VIP, which is the color blue wristband, they have to cut off the GA (Green wristband) unfortunately for some reasons!

After we got our final wristbands for the party, after we had lunch, we went to

Your Mati escapade won't be complete if you don't have a photo standing behind this gigantic sign with an amazing view! So if you happen to visit Mati, don't leave this side trip behind.

After we got back from the hotel we were staying in (Hotel Beatrice), we spent the whole afternoon taking a nap since we were so tired from the 5-hour travel and considering, it's very hot outside!

DAY/NIGHT TWO

We all woke up a little late than we expected! Then we checked all our photos on our phones and laughed about it. Geez, if only I could let you see what's on my camera roll, you'd be shock, how on earth we took all those photos! I just can't! *High laughing*

By the afternoon, around 3:00PM, we went earlier in Dahican to meetup my friend's friends and my friends whom I didn't see during the first party.

You will never go wrong with its beauty and surpassing waves! I always love it here and every time I go back, I would never miss a chance not to take gazillions of photo of the beach! Simply gorgeous.

Night two freebies! Colored powders and light stick. The colored powders are unlimited to VIP holders while in GA, you have to buy a color for 50php.

I can't imagine how dirty yet colorful we were during the second and last night! It was my favorite. The lineup was also amazing!

What excites us more was the fireworks that took a while during the second night!

Personally, from all the parties I've been to, this one is by far my most favorite. As the DJ announced that they will be having it again by 2015, I was already counting the days! HAHAHA, being OA enough, right? Don't judge! It's just that, if you are a kind person (like me) who loves music, beach and parties combined as much as I do, then we'd be a clique! Honestly speaking, I've been to a lot of parties ever, especially when it comes to Electric Music Festivals like this one. It's my favorite and forever will be! And I know, a lot of you loves it too. I love meeting new people, I love the beach, I love dressing up really comfortably, I love traveling with my friends and especially, I love music. Music is Universal, and by music, people are United as one. I'm in love by the concept of it, and as long as I can go anywhere I want, I would!

DAY THREE

April 6, 2014

So, the party ended at 3 in the morning. We were dancing for 6-hours! Can you imagine that? But despite of it, everything was worth it. My friends and I decided to just wait for the Sunrise since it will be on the horizon of Dahican! Just our luck. I call ourselves, Team No Sleep... AT ALL! And we were freezing since our clothes were soaked wet from the party!

Another experience that I personally have been waiting for ever! We don't really wanna end it yet and I think 2 days is really short for grand parties like this one. WTB: SummerFrolic Edition

What to Bring blog post is finally back and this time, I'm banging it for SummerFrolic 2014! I am incredibly excited for this one. Since it's a beach festival, there are a lot of stuff you might want to consider. Like your new fave bikinis to be exact! To be honest, I always over-pack my things when it comes to beach trips. I'm having too much problem on my dilemmas. I always wanted to bring as many things as possible which is totally a no-no. Perhaps you want to carry huge bags with heavy stuff in it! I made a decision to pull-out the most unnecessary things that I might not want to bring anymore. I know, I'm not the only one who got a problem with this especially when you want to change clothes every after 5-hours. It's worse, I couldn't imagine myself doing that again!

Usually, when I travel to different places that is million miles away from my hometown, I want to bring my most favorites and my basic needs. Since I don't want to over-pack never again, I made a list for a 3-day beach trip to Mati this weekend!

Gadget

Before, I always travel with my DSLR but since it's really heavy, I decided to just use my iPhone instead. It's lite and handy too, plus I got some stylish designs for my cases. Okay, here's the thing. You don't have to change your case time to time. Just pick the most favorable one you're good to go!

Tip: If you have shock proof/water proof case then that's the best case to use when it comes to beach parties because there'd be a lot of water-splashing to the party, I tell you! Neon bangles (from Butingtings) and native bracelets (from Cebu)

I love wearing bracelets only when I go to the beach! It adds more style to your summer look. Try to find some neon bangles in stores, it's probably a hit since it's already summer! Any light colors are also in right now!

Neon coin purse | Always secure your money and don't forget the penny! I always have that in my bag wherever I go. It's very handy too, you can just tack it in inside your pocket.

Squared Purse (Manilenya print; from Artwork) | If you want a bigger space, you can buy a squared purse in Artwork. It has different styles and sizes too. I usually put my phone (yep, it fits!), card, bills and some important papers there, like my ticket to SummerFrolic!

Vaseline Total Moisture in Cocoa Glow | I am obsessed with the smell of this lotion! It's addictive, I want to put it in my mouth and eat it. But then I remembered, it's a lotion, not a food! LOL! I got hooked and it's my everyday use. Okay, just don't bring the whole bottle. You might want to buy (or if you have spare, you may use it instead) a mini bottle for travelling purpose and get an amount of the lotion and pour it into the travel bottle.

Secret eau de parfum by Rasasi | Actually, my mom got this for me so I have zero idea on where to buy it here in Davao. It's my daily use scent and it smells so good too!

I am a lover of any kinds of shoes! If someone would ask me to pick between shoes or bags, I'd say shoes! Since it's already summer, say goodbye to high heels, boots and pumps and say hi to sandals and slippers!

Grendha Festa | It's my personal favorite. I use this one all the time! It's very comfortable and matches to almost everything! P.S., the gems are made of gels so it doesn't fell off easily. Very sassy!

My second fave! I love brown and skin-toned colors when it comes to shoes. This one is very comfortable too! It comes with different colors and sizes, just check it on their website or simply just Google it.

These two are also my faves! It's very soft and stylish. If you want to wear a more casual flip-flop kind of concept, well here's the perfect pair for you! I actually have two of them, as you can see. I have a crazy obsession about slippers. I have more slippers than bag. Most of my slippers are limited edition so I don't usually just hand it to anyone. I was thinking of selling it since it's summer and flip-flops are in right now.

Love & Beauty by Forever 21 in Matte Lipstick | I got this pretty shade in SM North Edsa branch. As much as I'm concerned, I didn't saw this shade here in Davao's Forever 21. I think they're gonna restock it some other time. This one is amazing! I love the color, if you'd ask, the shade is in Berry. It's my daily use too!

Cherimoya lipstick

If you don't like darker shades, here's to what! This one's in pale pink and I am in love with it. I usually use it during the days to look more blooming!

Lip Smacker in Cotton Candy

On the other hand, if you don't use any lipstick at all, try this lip balm. It has different shades in different flavors too. You can buy it in all Watsons nationwide or at the cosmetic area inside the mall!

Bag Tag from Bags & Tags, Trinoma

The last but perhaps never the least, my bag tag with my blog's name on it and my URL. Every time I travel, all my bags has name tags. Why? Because I know there'd be a case that someone might have the same bag as mine. Especially, when it's luggage. I've a lot of similar colors, size, everything for a lot of times already! To make sure it's mine, I always have the so-called palatandaan to all of my luggage. Backpacks are also victims of it. In occasions like this, like traveling by land, you should never forget your bag tag! It's very important because there are always cases that 2 or more has the same backpack as yours, like completely identical. You can never be too sure though!

I am much more of an organizer when it comes to my things. But there are times that I completely forget where on earth did I put stuff/s! I don't usually loose things because I always double check my bag or pockets. I'd like to keep my things in one place but it is just in me that I don't get why my room is very messy. As much as I want to keep it tidy, I just can't. AM I THE ONLY ONE? *Sigh* Anyway! When it comes to traveling naman, I always make sure to put everything I need in my bag. If you're wondering, one of the photos doesn't include a Sunscreen, because I rarely use one. But it's really advisable to use though! This weekend or for the upcoming trips in the future, make a list on the things you really need, not just the things you want. Money is very important, next to that is ID or any valid ID's in case of proof. Gadgets (phone/camera), you don't wanna miss a chance to take a photo of that place, right? I don't think so! Plus there are millions of attractions out there that is "Instagrammable" LOL! And the last but not the least, never spoil your vacation. Whether it's just in the country or outside the country/city, you should always carry that smile on your face and never leave the essence of excitement! As you wander and experience new things, grab the opportunities that you will encounter. There will always be first times, make the most out of it! Davao will always be the place to be. Why? For a lot of reasons. And by A LOT, I mean, unending speech. Hi readers/bloggers! Tonight, I just reached to 21k viewers on this Travel/Photography & Lifestyle blog, which I am so proud about! Thank you so much, it means a lot to me.

To begin with, last Saturday, March 29, 2014 at SM Lanang Premier - Fountain Court, a neon-glow party was held by which of course made by the one and only ManicNightnings Productions who was also the creator of the biggest party in Davao -- Carte Blanche 2013, Reverie, Liberalia and the recent party, Spectra 2014 ... and so much more! In celebration of Earth Hour 2014, at 8:30PM, people gathered to celebrate, participate and dance to the beat of the drums as we switched off all our lights/gadgets/etcetera for full one hour. In relation to the event, Manic came up with an idea to why not double the fun? PLUS, IT WAS FOR FREE! Can you imagine it --- FREE FOR EVERYONE TO JOIN THE WICKED PARTY! Everyone loves that, who doesn't? Though it was pouring hard all over Metro Davao, it didn't stopped us to party and enjoy the night full of colors!

I just signed a petition on how can I help and save the planet.

That's not my petition! LOL! I just happened to put my name on since there was still space for my name. Oh, Earth!

Switching off the lights took 1 hour and the party began hosted by my favorite as ever, Deuce Manila! Though it wasn't my first time to see them, I am still enthralled with their beauties plus really both great and talented DJ's too! Sick beats! Davao loves it.

Davao was once again captivated by the event. I personally love the idea of paints, especially that it's in neon and glow! I love neon ever since the world began. LOL! Plus, the black light part was incuh-ready-ble! According to Ms. Kat Dalisay, there were 6,681 who attended Spectra! You see, Davao people knows how to party, rain or shine! Summer night and a date to remember, really! The countdown to Summer and heat has officially started few weeks ago. But before I want to introduce you to my blog post today, I just wanna congratulate all the newly graduates! *Dancing and clapping*. I am hyped as they posted the teaser to SarBay Festival 2014! I've never been so in love with the idea of beach festivals. It's back and we are all looking forward to the biggest beach festival in Mindanao! I also posted a blog last year about our trip to Sarangani, which was wonderful. I can't wait to be back here once again! This time, it's bigger, bolder and incredible. See my blog post here.

Sarangani Bay Festival

It's once again, Summer. The time we've all been waiting for. Hitting the beach or anywhere with your loved ones could be so exciting! Plus, you can never go wrong with slippers, shorts and shirt. Philippines belonged to a tropical country which I am thankful for. Dude, we got 7, 107 islands in this country! How can a Filipino not love going to the beach. Oh! Just forget the stress and leave it behind, there's no room for that. Put that smile on and enjoy the ride to happiness. One of the best things I love is going to the beach with my friends. Taking a long ride going to somewhere, eating foods we've never tried before, taking photos and "selfies" anywhere... and have fun. I can't wait to hangout with my friends this summer. Street Party

Last March 15, during the 77th Araw ng Dabaw, there was a big party happened in Davao. Hence, Step-Up Street Party. If you happen to see me and was able to go to the epic party, then you haven't missed half of your life. LOL! I know, this has been 6-days later. I just wanna say sorry for the delay since I am sort of busy doing my journal (which I already finished), did some school stuff (though we don't have classes anymore), and watched movies most of the time! Now back to the party. It was held along the street of Palma Gil, Bo., Obrero where the night life of Davao always happen. The fact that it was free --- Yes! It was free for everyone so I think half of the population of party people in Davao came and witnessed the chaos. Good chaos! Not denying it, there were a lot of parties happening on that day, on that hour. During the street party, I saw a lot of my friends whom I thought they weren't going, but they did. The calm before the storm, my friends and I happen to avail on the second floor of World K-Box which is really near from the stage where the DJ's rocking the night, fronting Starr, Cork & Barrel and so much more.

At around 5:00PM, we went to G-Mall to meet up with my other friends and eat since we were starving. What's a party if your tummy's empty. Right?

Our mini "bazooka's" | We have it before the party in different colors. It's our props for the party. Lol! You gotta have it, it's so useful.

Just a quick reminder! If you are going to a party like this one, make sure not to wear open shoes. Always ready your snickers or any close shoes, you might regret it after the party if you're going to wear some heels, wedge or any open shoes.

Paint and beer party | You might wanna use your plain white shirt but never expect to wear 'em again after the paint war!

Howdy! Oh good Lord, today is my special day. I just turned 18! Let me just make this really quick blog post before the clock strikes 12:00AM, I just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who sent their warm and long ass greetings to me today! From Facebook, Text Messages, Twitter, E-Mails and even straight to my Instagram! And what's more loca, even the strangers from the mall greeted me today! Maybe because I was bringing a mini-cake given to me by Vikings. Well, anyway! I am so grateful and I can't stop smiling every time I read your messages to me. When in Cebu

Oh boy, I love Cebu! For a lot of reasons though. I can still imagine our endless food-trip and pig-out every night especially when it comes to grilled foods. Cebu is extremely famous to grilling almost any poultry and meat you can imagine! The rice they use is called "puso" (hanging rice), if you've ever been in Cebu, you know what it is. It's a rice wrapped in banana leaves and steamed to perfection. It is almost always eaten in pair with barbecues (which Cebu is known for) and you'll find puso at almost any store in the city. We all eat with spoon and fork, but forget about it -- you gotta eat puso with your bare hands. Shameless about it, don't be too conscious since almost everyone eats without the utensils! There are thousands of barbecue joints in Cebu and the fact that it's clean, sold on a very cheap prices, and really mouth-watering too!

When you go here, you'll be an instant celebrity! Not kidding -- especially when they know you're new here or a tourist. Like what happened to us! Since we are all first-timers in the place, they'd hurriedly came to us and invited us to eat in their stalls! We are all so clueless about what's happening though. And it's so hard to explain since the commotion's extremely absurd! You should come here and try their bests!

We come here often, almost every night to have dinner! This place is THE best! Since it's just one block away from Hotel Asia, we find ourselves savoring their best barbecues. The fact that it's ALWAYS (every single night) jam-packed with people and you should go here before dinner time to avoid the long cue in the line while ordering. I promise, when you're in Cebu, you should visit this barbecue joint. It's just near the Capitol so there's no excuse in getting lost! They are open from 5:00PM-12:00AM.

Their services are great! 10/10! Plus their staffs are accommodating too and really quick. You'll never be disappointed when you get in there!

As you can see, I am compiling our photos during tours and adventures in Cebu. We stayed there for 18-days and it's quite long to be in one place for almost 3 weeks! But the thing is, I really fell in love with Cebu. If you'd ask me, personally I would love to go back maybe during Sinulog next year! But 18-days has finally come to an end and we all were beyond and extremely excited to be home --- Davao is Life! Somehow, our OJT went well. If you're following me on Instagram, you'll see there our photos and whereabouts!

The very best thing in flying at 5 in the afternoon is seeing the sun sets and the orange horizon above --- It's beautiful! I have so much photos on my phone and videos too (It's on my Instagram)

I'll be coming back for you one day... Maybe in Sinulog 2015! I'll look forward to that. I have all the time and days to save up for the parties you're going to hold!

After 10 years, I was finally able to go back to Cebu. Can you imagine how tiny I was back then, attending the wedding of my Aunt and being the flower girl. LOL! I wish I could let you see my photo. HAHA! Anyway, if I have the chance to go back in Cebu, I'll surely try the famous Zubuchon, Sky Walk, Edge Coaster and the city's night life where they end at 6 in the morning --- PARTYING! How insane is that!? Just wow! Well anyway, to sum it up. I had fun times back then. It's incredibly unforgettable, specially to the Cebuano's I met during the trip. Again, Daghang Salamat! Out & In Cebu

The best thing in traveling is that you'll never expect what you're going to see. Honestly speaking, I never knew what the place looked like. As much as I'm concern, it's a 2-hour drive from the city proper. I din't have time to Google the place and see the photos. I asked my mom about it and she said it's a beautiful place. I wasn't disappointed of what I saw. But before that, on our second day in Cebu, which is still a tour-day, we went outside the city. Going to Simala will take you 2 hours from the city. You're going to pass by several cities like Naga, Carcar, Minglanilia (if I spelled it right). The place is very famous and a must visit too! The structure of the building is beyond gorgeous! As what I have said earlier, I never expected what I saw. Thousands of miracles happened to people when they solemnly prayed for their success. When you reach the inside of the building, you can see letters, pictures, stuff in every walls and corners of the place. It's beautiful and I had goosebumps when I saw it. The place is jam-packed with people, especially when it's Sunday. By the way, we went there on a Sunday. If you just believe, your wishes and prayers will come true.

We all woke up really early to prepare for our whole day tour in and outside the city! It was 6-ish when we went to the 8th floor of Hotel Asia (where we stayed for 18 days straight!) to have our breakfast. By the way, the view and the sunrise was awesome! It's a good way to start for a long day.

When you go to Simala, you have to be aware of the dress you're going to wear:

NO SLEEVELESS (or if, bring a cover up)

NO SHORTS

NO MINI SKIRTS

Sad to say, it's their rules and it's a really solemn place too!

So, on the morning, we depart the hotel at 8 in the morning. Traveled to Simala for to hours and what we did inside the bus was to sleep. Thank goodness for comfortable bus like what we rode during the 3-day tour!

To see is to believe! TADA! I told you it's beautiful. I was soooo amazed with the structure. I never expected what I was going to see. It's like, you're not in Cebu anymore. Wait... there's more!

On Sundays, people go here to attend a mass, offer candles and their petitions, buy rosaries, or simply tour the place. In our case, since we don't know the schedule of their mass, we toured the whole Monastery. It was beautiful. I'm out of words, it's absolutely one of a kind here in the Philippines! It was first time to go to a place so amazing as in Simala. No wonder it's "A must visit" when you're in the Visayas region. Add this on your travel/bucket list if possible. I promise, you'll never regret going to this place.

God bless to these people! Going up to the monastery, you have to bear with the steep stairs. It's slippery too so don't even bother to wear high-heels! There's no need to that. And it's hot sunny day, so bring an umbrella if possible, wear your shady shades too! If you can see on the photo above, thousands of people are lining up to get through the tip, I have no idea why, but I think there's something that they want to see. We didn't bother to line up since we have an hour in the place! Plus, it's a really long line from the gate to up!

I spent 20 in this wishing well. If you can see, there a tiny hole on the right side. You have to throw your coins and get through the hole then make a wish! Unfortunately, my luck wasn't that strong enough to make it to the hole.

Sad to say, we have to leave the place to follow the itinerary. Left Simala at around 11AM and headed to Carcar. It's famous for its cheap shoes!

After we had lunch, we went back to the city. It was a sizzling hot afternoon in Cebu. We attended the mass at around 3pm in Metropolitan Cathedral. There was a wedding going on when we arrived. It was amazing! The cathedral was beautiful too. Despite of the 7.2 magnitude quake that hit almost in every corner of the Visayas Region, the churches in Cebu stood still and they are trying to fix the heritage sites.

This Chinese Ancestral house is older than you! It's the oldest Chinese House in the Philippines and outside China. Can you imagine that there are people who still lives here during weekends. It's creepy!

When you go to the second floor of the house, you have to be on bare feet! ALL the stuff inside are antiques! And you have to be extra careful on walking since it's made up of wood!

It's a refrigerator made up of REAL wood! I opened it, and it stinks. I din't bother taking a photo of the inside. LOL!

What amazes me the most was the Monastery of the Holy Eucharist in Simala. It's beyond beautiful! I wrote down all my wishes there and prayed that it'll come true. I also bought rosaries and took a lot of photos. Those were just half of it! Thing is, I am so excited to post this blog since I want you all to see what I saw. I want you to plan of going there someday. The second day tour was my favorite. Aside from my love for my outfit, I also love the calm day 'til night. It was unforgettable! I want to go back but it's too far. Maybe someday, I would love to go back there with my parents. Second is, I love the Yap-Sandiego Ancestral House. You know me, I love vintage stuff and antiques! Anything weird and different. The place is just right at the heart of the city near Cebu Heritage Monument which is just a walking distance. You can totally visit there house and see it for yourself. Don't ever forget you camera's and charge it fully! When you like vintage and heritage sites, feel free to visit the city of Cebu, they're rich in culture and centuries-old buildings. The Queen City of the South

Major OMG! I finally got back from Cebu (yesterday) and I was so excited to be back in Davao and blog. If you're wondering why am I in Cebu for 18 days is because we had our OJT (On the Job Training) there in The Queen City of the South. But if you've been following me on Twitter, Instagram or even Facebook then you must be up to date on what's happening to me. LOL! But let me set aside first our OJT mems. Last month, February 15, all second year BS-Tourism Management flew to Cebu City. We arrived in Mactan at around noon, it was extremely hot. And I am quite excited to be back after 10 years! Long time ago, right? *Sigh* Plus we were a bit too late for Sinulog Festival, but whatever! So much typing, let me just share to you what went well on our first day.

Davao International Airport at 6:00AM. I know! Really early! The sad part was, I am the only one in four of them to be on the other airline and the rest of them were in the same!

But thank goodness, Kim was on the same flight with me and...

some of my other friends too!

It took us exactly 45 minutes to arrive in Cebu from Davao.

You will never expect what you're gonna see up in the air and it's breathtaking! Cotton candy clouds deserves a selfie too! LOL!

Thank you PAL Express for a fast craft and despite of your tiny plane, we arrived safe and sound to Cebu.

We were supposedly 10 in the photo but she din't join. So we were the first one to arrived in Mactan International Airport at 12!

It's never too late for a photo saying "Viva Pit Senyor!"

We waited for everyone to arrive and then took the private bus to our next destination for lunch. Traveling is tiring but extremely amazing!

Philippine Taoist Temple

On the same day, at the afternoon, we all head to Taoist Temple, Beverly Hills, Cebu.

It was amazing! The temple was located at the hill and you have to climb up several steps to get to the point. The entrance to the temple is a replica of the Great Wall of China. The temple includes a chapel, a library, a souvenir shop and a wishing well. The spacious balconies offer a scenic view of the downtown Cebu.

I personally like the idea of the dragon at my back. I think it's cool!

While our stay in Cebu, we had a 3-day tour/stay-cation before the actual start of OJT, you'll see the rest of the photos in the upcoming days this week. I should totally catch up a lot! And I really missed you guys. A LOT! There's no place like home... Davao Life is TRULY here. I could not ask for more. On our first day in Cebu, we were all exhausted. All I could think of for that day was "I need a long ass sleep!" but despite of it, I am still thankful we visited some places on the first day! More photos tomorrow so stay tuned. ;) Kisses!
