DAY 1 GO LIVE-------------------------
Challenges at Hand:
•Many
IT projects fail due to challenges uncovered in the later phases of the project
like SIT, UAT and deploy. There by, the organizations lose billions of
dollars.
•The
business process change more rapidly than ever, making the IT projects more
challenging. When
the project comes into UAT phase, at least 20% of the requirements are
changed.
•The
existing methodologies like waterfall, agile have failed to minimize the
failure of projects. It clearly indicates that there is a need for a new
methodology.

Solution:DOGL,
day one GO LIVE is a new methodology which aims for a technical go live
on day1 of the project. This aims to minimize the
failure of projects or minimize the losses by identifying the challenges/issues
early in the game. As early as day 1. DOGL methodology aims to build process to
address the challenges faced in waterfall methodology
and others. DOGL aims to yield the business earned value from day1. DOGL gives
the client the flexibility to build as needed by business accommodating the
changes to the business process.
•The
smallest unit of project execution, which can be built and tested is an use
case. DOGL works at use case level. Each use case goes through design, build,
test, deploy phases in sequence. The use cases will be sequenced based on the
business priority. DOGL discourages the use of stubs based development., rather
sequence the use cases to minimize the use of stubs. Each use case goes LIVE in
sequence. The business GO LIVE can happen based on business cycles and
requirements.

1, the GO LIVE issues are uncovered.•Day

the usual UAT issues like requirement gaps are uncovered.•Day

This
is a weird but true story ... A complaint was received by the Pontiac Division of General
Motors:

This is the second
time I have written you, and I don't blame you for not answering me, because I
kind of sounded crazy, but it is a fact that we have a tradition in our family
of ice cream for dessert after dinner each night. But the kind of ice cream varies
so, every night, after we've eaten, the whole family votes on which kind of ice
cream we should have and I drive down to the store to get it.

It's also a fact
that I recently purchased a new Pontiac and since then my trips to the store
have created a problem. You see, every time I buy

vanilla ice cream,
when I start back from the store my car won't start. If I get any other kind of
ice cream, the car starts just fine.

I want you to know
I'm serious about this question, no matter how silly it sounds: 'What is there
about a Pontiac that makes it not start when I get vanilla ice cream, and easy
to start whenever I get any other kind?'"

The Pontiac
President was understandably skeptical about the letter, but sent an engineer
to check it out anyway. The latter was surprised to be greeted by a successful,
obviously well educated man in a fine neighborhood. He had arranged to meet the
man just after dinner time, so the two hopped into the car and drove to the ice
cream store. It was vanilla ice cream that night and, sure enough, after they
came back to the car, it wouldn't start.

The engineer
returned for three more nights. The first night, the man got chocolate. The car
started. The second night, he got strawberry. The car started. The third night
he ordered vanilla. The car failed to start.

Now the engineer,
being a logical man, refused to believe that this man's car was allergic to
vanilla ice cream. He arranged, therefore, to continue his visits for as long
as it took to solve the problem. And toward this end he began to take notes: he
jotted down all sorts of data, time of day, type of gas used, time to drive
back and forth, etc. In a short time, he had a clue: The man took less time to
buy vanilla than any other flavor. Why? The answer was in the layout of the
store.

Vanilla, being the
most popular flavor, was in a separate case at the front of the store for quick
pickup. All the other flavors were kept in the back of the store at a different
counter where it took considerably longer to find the flavor and get checked
out. Now the question for the engineer was why the car wouldn't start when it
took less time.

Once time became the
problem — not the vanilla ice cream — the engineer quickly came up with the
answer: vapor lock. It was happening every night, but the extra time taken to
get the other flavors allowed the engine to cool down sufficiently to start. When
the man got vanilla, the engine was still too hot for the vapor lock to
dissipate.

Moral of the story:
even insane-looking problems are sometimes real.

It actually requires the below DLL's which are avilable in the folder Server\setup
Microsoft.Crm.dll, Microsoft.Crm.Platform.Server.dll and Microsoft.Crm.Reporting.dll

The code looks as below :

Microsoft.Crm.BusinessEntities.ExecutionContext myContext = new Microsoft.Crm.BusinessEntities. ExecutionContext (OrganizationId from the context);
string Query = myreportQueryBuilderObj.BuildReportQuery(fetchXml, myContext);

The query will be returned as string.

Microsoft CRM 1.0 launched in January 2003.

• Microsoft CRM 1.2

Microsoft CRM 1.2 was released on December 8th 2003[3]. Microsoft CRM 1.2 was not widely adopted by industry.

• Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0

The second version was rebranded as Microsoft Dynamics 3.0 (version 2.0 was skipped entirely) to signify its inclusion within the Dynamics product family and was released on December 5th, 2005 [4]. Notable updates over version 1.2 are the ease of creating customizations to CRM, the switch from using Crystal Reports to Microsoft SQL Reporting Services, the ability to run on Windows Vista and Outlook 2007, and support for Exchange 2007.

Significant additions released later by Microsoft also allowed Dynamics CRM 3.0 to be accessed by various mobile devices and integration with Siebel.

This was the first version that saw reasonable take up by customers.

• Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0

Dynamics CRM 4.0 introduced in December 2007 . It features multi-tenancy, improved reporting security, data importing, direct mail merging and support for newer technologies such as Windows 2008 and SQL 2008 (Update Rollup 4).

Dynamics CRM 4.0 also implements CRM Online, a hosted solution that is offered directly from Microsoft. The multi-tenancy option also allows ISVs to offer hosted solutions to end customers as well.

Dynamics CRM 4.0 is the first version of the product which has seen significant takeup in the market and passed the 1 million user mark in July 2009 .

MS Dynamics CRM 2011

Microsoft gives a new name "Dynamics CRM 2011" which was earlier code named as CRM 5.

Lookup page displayed on click of addexisting throws error.

Look up - web page dialog error message appears when you Add an existing entity to a another entity. 1. Go to Advanced find.
2. Select the entity for which this error occurs. (For Ex: Account).
3. Select the column which is of type "picklist".
4. Select the operator as "Does not Equal".
5. In the pop up for selecting the picklist values choose all the values.
