(Scholarships, on the other hand, do not have to be repaid.)

Education loans come in three major categories: student loans (e.g., Stafford and Perkins loans), parent loans (e.g., PLUS loans) and private student loans (also called alternative student loans). A fourth type of education loan, the consolidation loan, allows the borrower to lump all of their loans into one loan for simplified payment. A recent innovation is peer-to-peer education loans. More than $100 billion in federal education loans and $10 billion in private student loans are originated each year.

Since July 1, 2010, all new federal education loans have been made through the Direct Loan program. The loans are made through the college's financial aid office with funds provided by the US Department of Education. This includes the Federal Parent PLUS loan in addition to student loans. The terms of the Federal Stafford, PLUS and Consolidation loans are similar to the terms of the federal education loans previously available through the federally-guaranteed student loan programs. However, the interest rate on the Federal Direct PLUS loan is lower (7.9% vs. 8.5%) and the approval rate is higher.

Making payments of at least the new interest that accrues during the in-school and grace periods avoids negative amortization. This can save borrowers money and help them pay off the debt sooner that borrowers who defer payments of principal and interest.

Federal law sets the maximum interest rates and fees that lenders may charge for federally-guaranteed loans. Nothing prevents a lender from charging lower fees. Many lenders offer a variety of student loan discounts to attract borrowers.

Few students can afford to pay for college without some form of education financing. Two-thirds (65.6%) of 4-year undergraduate students graduated with a Bachelor's degree and some debt in 2007-08, and the average student loan debt among graduating seniors was $23,186 (excluding PLUS Loans but including Stafford, Perkins, state, college and private loans). Among graduating 4-year undergraduate students who applied for federal student aid, 86.3% borrowed to pay for their education and the average cumulative debt was $24,651. (For just federal student loan debt, excluding PLUS Loans, the figures are 61.6% and $17,878.) Average cumulative debt increased by 5.6% or $1,139 a year since 2003-04. When one includes PLUS loans in the total, 66.0% of 4-year undergraduate students graduated with some debt in 2007-08, and the average cumulative debt incurred was $27,803. (About two in fifteen (13.5%) of parents borrow PLUS loans for their children's college education, with a cumulative PLUS loan debt of $23,298.)

These figures were calculated using the data analysis system for the 2007-2008 National Postsecondary Student Aid Study (NPSAS) conducted by the National Center for Education Statistics at the US Department of Education. (For comparison, cumulative education debt statistics from the 2003-2004 NPSAS are also available.) The 2007-2008 NPSAS surveyed 114,000 undergraduate students and 14,000 graduate and professional students. These statistics are not necessarily available from published NPSAS reports.

The median cumulative debt among graduating Bachelor's degree recipients at 4-year undergraduate schools was $19,999 in 2007-08. One quarter borrowed $30,526 or more, and one tenth borrowed $44,668 or more. 9.5% of undergraduate students and 14.6% of undergraduate student borrowers graduating with a Bachelor's degree graduated with $40,000 or more in cumulative debt in 2007-08. This compares with 6.4% and 10.0%, respectively, for Bachelor's degree recipients graduating with $40,000 or more (2008 dollars) in cumulative debt in 2003-04.

The following table shows the percentage of students borrowing and average cumulative debt per borrower (excluding Parent PLUS Loans) at graduation according to type of educational institution but not restricted by degree program.

Undergraduate Education Debt
(Excluding Parent PLUS Loans)
Institution Level & Control Percent Borrowing Cumulative Debt
Overall Total (4, 2 and < 2 year) 58.8% $18,625
Public 49.4% $16,369
Private Non-Profit 69.7% $26,683
Private For-Profit 93.1% $17,162
4-year Total 66.5% $22,656
4-year Public 61.1% $19,839
4-year Private Non-Profit 70.6% $27,349
4-year Private For-Profit 97.0% $24,635
2-year Total 44.8% $12,307
2-year Public 37.2% $10,444
2-year Private Non-Profit 64.0% $14,790
2-year Private For-Profit 97.6% $17,310
< 2-year Total 74.7% $10,172
< 2-year Public 36.1% $10,321
< 2-year Private Non-Profit 45.0% $10,990
< 2-year Private For-Profit 86.0% $10,123

As noted in Default Rates by Institution Level vs. Degree Program, however, institution level (4-year, 2-year and less-than-2-year) does not correlate well with degree program, especially at for-profit colleges. The following table shows cumulative debt at graduation by institution control and undergraduate degree program. Notice how the average debt for Bachelor's degree recipients is much higher at for-profit colleges than the average debt at graduation at 4-year for-profit colleges. More than two-fifths of degrees at 4-year for-profit colleges are Associate's degrees, compared with less than 5% at non-profit and public 4-year colleges, yielding a lower average debt at graduation when measured by institution level as opposed to degree program.

Undergraduate Education Debt
Institution Control and
Degree Program Percent
Borrowing Average
Cumulative
Debt Median
Cumulative
Debt
(Just Borrowers) Median
Cumulative
Debt
(All Students)
Bachelor's Degree 65.2% $23,118 $19,999 $10,500
Public 61.2% $20,040 $17,500 $6,998
Private Non-Profit 70.5% $27,535 $22,374 $16,115
Private For-Profit 96.0% $32,909 $32,625 $31,186
Associate's Degree 47.1% $13,289 $10,000 $0
Public 38.9% $10,574 $7,668 $0
Private Non-Profit 71.1% $19,294 $16,130 $10,000
Private For-Profit 97.8% $19,681 $18,783 $18,415
Certificate 63.2% $11,302 $9,000 $4,804
Public 32.0% $9,754 $6,625 $0
Private Non-Profit 49.5% $15,071 $10,000 $0
Private For-Profit 89.9% $11,573 $9,858 $8,797

The following table shows the percentage of students borrowing and average cumulative debt per borrower (including Parent PLUS Loans) at graduation according to type of educational institution but not restricted by degree program. (The NPSAS includes separate variables for cumulative student education debt and cumulative parent education debt, but not a combined overall education debt variable. Calculating a combined value requires disaggregating the student and parent education debt data by the cross product of students graduating with and without student and parent education debt, then recombining the results. This process adds a slight amount of error to the figures.)

Undergraduate Education Debt
(Including Parent PLUS Loans)
Institution Level & Control Percent Borrowing Cumulative Debt
Overall Total (4, 2 and < 2 year) 59.0% $21,894
Public 49.6% $18,927
Private Non-Profit 70.0% $33,330
Private For-Profit 93.2% $19,157
4-year Total 66.8% $27,041
4-year Public 61.5% $23,227
4-year Private Non-Profit 70.9% $34,212
4-year Private For-Profit 97.0% $27,510
2-year Total 44.8% $13,703
2-year Public 37.3% $11,560
2-year Private Non-Profit 64.1% $17,157
2-year Private For-Profit 97.6% $19,402
< 2-year Total 74.8% $11,161
< 2-year Public 36.1% $10,877
< 2-year Private Non-Profit 45.0% $10,990
< 2-year Private For-Profit 86.2% $11,203
Bachelor's Degree 65.6% $27,708
Public 61.6% $23,494
Private Non-Profit 70.8% $34,572
Private For-Profit 96.0% $35,753
Associate's Degree 47.1% $14,907
Public 38.9% $11,640
Private Non-Profit 71.2% $21,406
Private For-Profit 97.8% $22,738
Certificate 63.2% $12,524
Public 32.0% $10,833
Private Non-Profit 44.0% $11,772
Private For-Profit 90.0% $12,712

Graduate and professional students borrow even more, with the additional cumulative debt for a graduate degree typically ranging from $30,000 to $120,000. The median additional debt is $25,000 for a Master's degree, $52,000 for a doctoral degree and $79,836 for a professional degree. A quarter of graduate and professional students borrow more than $42,898 for a Master's degree, more than $75,712 for a doctoral degree and more than $118,500 for a professional degree. At the 90th percentile cumulative debt for graduate and professional degrees exceeds $59,869 for a Master's degree, $123,650 for a doctoral degree and $159,750 for a professional degree.

The following table shows the percentage borrowing and average amount of cumulative debt per borrower among graduating students according to degree program. It provides the amounts borrowed for just the graduate education and also the combined totals for undergraduate and graduate education. Undergraduate students who graduate with a Bachelor's degree and no debt are 1.7 times more likely to enroll in graduate and professional school than Bachelor's degree recipients who graduate with some debt.

All Students Graduate Education Debt All Education Debt
(Grad & Undergrad)
Graduate & Professional Degree Programs Percent Borrowing Cumulative Debt Percent Borrowing Cumulative Debt
Total 56.4% $40,297 69.6% $47,503
Master's Degree 55.2% $31,031 69.4% $40,208
Doctoral Degree 45.8% $57,860 56.3% $58,967
Professional Degree 86.2% $87,308 87.9% $98,711
Master of Business Administration (MBA) 55.5% $31,927 68.9% $41,676
Master of Social Work (MSW) 72.3% $35,516 77.7% $49,017
Master of Science (MS) 49.8% $30,684 63.5% $40,362
Master of Arts (MA) 60.8% $29,975 73.7% $40,500
Master of Education or Teaching 55.9% $26,487 74.5% $35,946
PhD 35.4% $44,995 48.0% $45,455
EdD 65.1% $43,812 73.3% $44,880
Law (LLB or JD) 88.6% $80,081 88.6% $92,937
Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine 81.9% $119,424 83.2% $127,272
Pharmacy (PharmD) 82.2% $63,412 85.0% $81,838

The following table shows the percentage of graduating students at graduate and professional institutions who applied for federal student aid and graduated with debt and the average cumulative debt at graduation according to degree program. Many students find that they must supplement their savings with government and private loans. The Federal education loan programs offer lower interest rates and more flexible repayment plans than most consumer loans, making them an attractive way to finance your education. You can also deduct up to $2,500 in student loan interest even if you don't itemize deductions on your income tax return.

The interest rate on the Stafford Loan for new loans first disbursed on or after July 1, 2006 is a fixed rate of 6.8%. The same rate applies to the in-school, grace and repayment periods. (A lower interest rate is available on subsidized Stafford loans for undergraduate students for loans first disbursed on or after July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2012. The rate in 2008-09 is 6.0%, then 5.6% in 2009-10, then 4.5% in 2010-11 and 3.4% in 2011-12 and returning to 6.8% for new loans in 2012-13 onward.) The interest rate on new PLUS Loans first disbursed after July 1, 2006 is a fixed rate of 8.5% in the FFEL program and 7.9% in the Direct Loan program. Starting July 1, 2010, all new federal education loans have been made through the Direct Loan program.

The interest rates on existing variable rate Stafford and PLUS loans will continue to change annually on July 1, based on the last 91-day T-bill auction in May. Borrowers can lock in the current rate on their variable rate loans by consolidating them. Borrowers can compare the current and new rates between the end of May and the end of June to decide whether it is worthwhile to consolidate before or after the rate change.

Borrowers may be concerned by the possible impact of the subprime credit crisis on the cost and availability of federal and private student loans. Federal loans will remain available, although loan discounts will likely be reduced significantly. A higher minimum balance may be required to consolidate. Private student loans will likely have stricter eligibility restrictions, requiring a higher credit score or a cosigner. There may be increases in the interest rates and fees on private student loans. Lenders will encourage borrowers to make payments of interest while they are in school.

Many student loan providers offer low cost government and private loans with consistently high quality servicing and flexible repayment terms. FinAid maintains a list of education lenders, guarantee agencies, servicers and secondary markets who previously offered federal and may currently offer private student loans, as well as advice on preferred lender lists and choosing a lender and tips on identifying the lenders that currently hold or service your loans.

Borrowers of federal student loans will be required to undergo entrance and exit counseling before receiving a loan and before graduation. This loan counseling is often provided through interactive web sites.

Loan forgiveness programs (in which the borrower's loans are paid off in exchange for volunteer work, public service or military service) offer an option for easy repayment. Loan Cancellation and Discharge Forms can be found on the US Department of Education web site.

Also, FinAid provides numerous calculators that can help you better understand your borrowing options. The loan calculators offer estimates of monthly loan payments, estimates of the amount of debt you can afford to repay, an analysis of the cost of capitalizing the interest and tools for comparing loan costs.

Use FinAid's Student Loan Checklist to keep track of your student loans.

Some students, because they do not have prior experience with debt and loan amortization, do not appreciate how much their loans will cost them. FinAid provides some tips concerning calculating the cost of interest.

If you are about to start repaying your student loans, or are already in repayment, the quick reference guide on repaying student loans provides four pages of information and advice about managing education debt. (A PowerPoint Presentation and handouts on repaying student loans are also available.)

स्टुडेंट loans

Most college or university students can secure Stafford student loans to assist with their financial needs, so what are you waiting for? The gain was the second in as many months following 19 straight losses. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones Newswires had predicted a $2 billion decline in October consumer credit.

The data Tuesday showed the October gain was driven by another big increase in student loans, a category that pushed up overall consumer credit in September by $1.2 billion. Originally the Fed reported a $2.1 billion increase in September borrowing.

The report on October borrowing showed revolving credit decreased $5.6 billion, or 8.4%, to $800.5 billion. The last time credit-card debt rose was August 2008.

About 8 million consumers stopped actively using credit cards over the past year, according to the credit-reporting group TransUnion. In a report Nov. 29, it said credit-card delinquencies continued declining amid tighter lending standards by banks.

The Fed report Tuesday said nonrevolving credit rose 6.8%, or $9 billion, to $1.6 trillion. The category includes loans for cars, tuition, and boats.

The consumer-credit report doesn’t include numbers on home mortgages and other real-estate-secured loans. But the data are important for the insight given into consumer behavior.

Tuesday’s report confirmed U.S. spending by consumers is modest, a trend that is restricting the economy from growing strongly out of recessions

ग्लोबल economy

Global Economic Prospects
Key messages
The global recovery is moving into a more mature phase led by growing domestic demand.
* However, conditions in Europe may derail the recovery.
* A more rapid adjustment of fiscal policy would be better for developing countries.
* A decline in aid flows could have serious consequences for the poorest countries.
*  More...
Global outlook summary table
A table summarizing the forecast. More detailed information is available here.

Debt crisis
So far, the uncertainty about the sustainability of fiscal positions in several high-income European countries (EU-5) has had limited impacts on developing countries. While stock markets have declined, spreads and credit default swaps for most countries have remained stable. So far industrial production and trade continue to expand rapidly. More...

Financial markets
Financial markets have recovered from their lows in 2009, but conditions remain tight and banks may be exposed to debt in EU-5 countries. Bond issuance declined sharply in May. International capital flows to developing countries are projected to reach about 3.5 percent of their GDP in 2012, up from 2.5 percent in 2009. See also the topical annex on Financial market developments. More...

Medium-term prospects
Growth prospects are very uncertain because of the situation in Europe. Nevertheless, developing countries are projected to lead the recovery with growth rates around 6 percent. An aggressive fiscal consolidation response would prove to be win-win for both high-income and developing countries. Long-term growth and poverty reduction in low-income countries could be affected if bilateral aid flows fall as they have during previous recessions. More...

Concluding remarks
Policy in high-income countries should focus on reducing the uncertainty surrounding the Greek debt issue. Growth in developing (and high-income) countries would benefit from a more rapid consolidation. Yet, it’s already established a fat pipeline of interesting and cutting-edge new cancer treatments.

The potential of these breakthrough cancer treatments has its competitors drooling.

The company’s research programs and new drugs have captured the interest of big players like Genentech, Bayer, Medimmune, ProGenics, PDL BioPharma and CuraGen.

That’s all because the baby blue chip’s drug candidates are aimed at treating cancers such as non-Hodgkins lymphomas, leukemia, multiple myeloma, lymphomas and solid tumors.

Sadly, As You May Well Know,
Cancer May Be An Unlimited Marketplace
In fact, in the year 2000, the World Health Organization (WHO) reported that malignant tumors were responsible for 12% of the nearly 56 million deaths worldwide.

The WHO went on to report that in developed countries the probability of being diagnosed with cancer is more than twice as high as in developing countries.

But while cancer was once considered a Western disease, the WHO report highlights that more than 50% of the world’s cancer burden, in terms of both numbers of cases and deaths, already occurs in developing countries.

Bulls-Eye Drugs Are The Future…
The Possible Cancer Cure

That puts the baby blue chip biotech on the forefront of the global drive to cure common cancers.

What distinguishes the genius-led company is that it has what might be the best pipeline of very promising products that are currently being tested in clinical trials.

This is the work of geniuses… the kind of work that you should be proud of… because you had a hand in creating a public education system that produced brilliant researchers such as those who work at this biotech.

And, while you could reap a financial reward from this cutting-edge work… either you or your family is in line to directly benefit from this research as well. Its clinical tests hint – and you need to know that hint is the operative word here – that they might have made the dream real.

It’s why the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation owns 5% percent of the company.

Because this biotech’s promising monoclonal-antibody drugs look as if they can successfully carry a targeted payload of toxin directly to tumor cells… nothing more.

That means the baby blue chip’s researchers may have cracked the code… a 30-year breakthrough.

But You Don’t Have To Take Our Word…
The Marketplace Is Already Speaking

This breakthrough class of drugs are so promising that another biotech giant is paying all costs for Phase II trials so the baby blue chip biotech can put its money to work on other drugs it has in development.

That means the biotech can keep its cash-burn-rate under control so that it will live long enough to generate real profits – as many young biotechs do not.

In fact, the company’s financial reports reveal why so many top investors and competitors are so fervently in its corner.

After all, this company has rapidly expanded from a paltry $100,000 in sales in 2000 to $10 million in sales last year. Now, industry analysts and the company agree that it should double sales this year and reach nearly $30 million next year… and explode…

That fast rate of expansion means other money has started to roll in as well…in October it was a $1.5 million payment from a collaborator, in December a $12 million milestone payment from another…

Then in January it attracted another $4 million and news that its entitled to as much as $800 million for meeting future milestones along with a stream of royalties starting between 13% and 16% and going higher when its product is safely on the market

That makes this biotech a total rarity…

A small biotech that can stand up for itself… that’s why it’s a baby blue chip…

For while it’s financial mission is to greatly reward all its investors, its research mission is so noble that it’s hard to find anyone in the industry that isn’t in its corner.

Wait Until You Discover Who Uncovered The Biotech For You!

So, you’ve seen that the masters of the universe are shouldering each other out of the way to invest in this one small biotech.

You’ve seen why.

The company looks like it may have solved an ages-old problem with a new class of cancer treatment drugs.

And, by now, you likely realize the awesome financial ramifications this means for you.

So let me share a secret with you… okay, maybe it’s more like a surprise.

Because, certainly by now you suspect that the Strategic Report that lays this opportunity out for you in such an easy to understand manner must come from some well-known biotech speculator… someone who loses as much as he wins.

But, nothing could be farther from the truth.

Tens Of Thousands Of Readers Have
Trusted This Investment Authority For Years

And, that may be the most compelling reason behind why this opportunity deserves your immediate attention.

Because, not only is this opportunity as real and ripe as it can be – but it comes to you directly from a most unlikely source… a renowned value investing authority…

One of America’s most trusted, and skeptical, investment authorities.

A Cleanup Hitter On A Championship Lineup

Look, you and I both know that this modern media world is one that thrives on hype.

So when I make a bold statement, such as, “this baby blue chip biotech comes to you from a renowned and trusted investment authority,” you have the absolute right to take pause.

But, just you like you, after a couple of decades in my career I too became a real good judge of talent.

By the way, I am MaryEllen Tribby, the CEO of Early To Rise and the Executive Publisher of Investor’s Daily Edge.

As you might know, ETR and IDE have hundreds of thousands of readers around the world. We’re also an affiliate company of Agora Inc., the world’s leading financial newsletter publisher.

As for my bona fides: I started earning my reputation as an astute judge of investing talent during the years I managed a large division of Forbes. Later, I served as President of Weiss Research, the global investment house.

And, as I am sure you are aware – in this business, you’re only as good as your best guru.

When I find an expert who can deliver market-beating investment ideas, over and over again, that person is like gold. I’ve been fortunate to work with a few people like that.

And, that’s what makes the authority you are about to meet even more rare.

You see, while she has proven to be one of the most successful stock pickers in the world, her real strength is that she is a total straight shooter… no political baggage… no hidden agenda.

So, while you’ll likely make a lot of money, what you’re really going to like about Lynn Carpenter is that hers is an authoritative, sane voice that slices through an investment world that has become as noisy as the Beatles on Ed Sullivan, or a Led Zeppelin concert.

Yes, You Have The Rare Chance Today To
Align Yourself With That Lynn Carpenter

This is the same Lynn Carpenter who during the last market crisis, the one from 2000 to 2003, positioned investors so well that in the ensuing years they knocked down more than 19 winners that exceeded all expectations… they emerged from the dark days as some of the few winners.

Talk about taking advantage of economic pain… that’s just what you need now!

And you thought value investing was boring, huh?

And, I’ll prove that to you on just a second when you get a look at just some of the hefty gains Lynn’s readers booked the last time the markets went south.

Then, I think you’ll agree that there’s nothing quite like cashing in a string of winners all while lowering your risk to unheard of levels.

Cutting Risk To The Bone Doesn’t
Have To Mean Sacrificing Powerful Profits

And, as you’re about to see, Lynn may know how to deal with the worst of Wall Street… but she also knows the very best about you.

And, as many of you know, Lynn has proved this time and time again during her years as editor of the world-famous Fleet Street Letter and as an Investment Advisory Panelist for The Oxford Club.

Today, Lynn is the founder/editor of the Rising Tide Letter. Day-in and day-out, for readers across the globe, Rising Tide is an immediate source of investment sanity and steady returns.

Lynn is rare in the financial world because she will be the first to admit that your instincts are pretty much always right… it’s just the information you’re getting that’s usually so wrong.

She knows that in every other aspect of your life you set your own agenda… that you strive to be independent, practical, even brave… and that you can smell BS a mile away.

And, Lynn knows these are traits that will make you a great investor… if only you were allowed a chance.

In just a second you are going to see how Lynn’s powerful methods can super-charge your goals… you’ll see a sample of her current track record… and one from 2000 to 2003, the last time the economy was in the dumps… and most people had a difficult time navigating the markets.

You Will Join The Ranks That Sing Lynn’s Praise

But, so you’ll know I am not over-hyping Lynn by referring to her as in internationally respected investment authority, here are just a few examples of what you’ll find when you search for Lynn Carpenter in Google… doesn’t everybody use the Google search engine today?

From (of all publications) The Canadian Mining News:

“Anyone can recommend stocks, but [Lynn Carpenter] recommends outstanding companies — ones specifically chosen to help subscribers steadily increase their wealth in all markets. During this time, she discovered how to use her scientific approach to take advantage of quick, leveraged profit opportunities.”

From the Oxford Club’s Investment U

“Lynn Carpenter is the former editor of Fleet Street. In this timely report Lynn Carpenter shows you just where to find 2008’s two most potentially explosive medical stocks.

EMBRACE THE BEAR: Waiting for the Bull Could Cost You a Fortune
The market is bearish a third of the time. Can you handle it? Even in “bull years,” down legs spoil the party—the news is glum, losses mount, and investors are running for cover. But not everyone. Find out the secret: bears really know what to do when the market is sinking: sell, sit or buy? Doing the right thing will multiply your fortune twice as fast.

IT’S NOT WHAT YOU’VE BEEN TOLD: The Myths and Truths of Value Investing—The Value Primer.
Every time a bubble bursts, value investors can hardly contain their smiles. That’s because they know it’s possible to make real money in any market. They’re cashing in on steady to even embarrassingly good profits because, guided by value masters such as Lynn Carpenter, value investors buy low… they don’t buy shoddy. In this ripped-from-the-headlines report, you’ll discover just where growth fits into the value quotient… the crippling lies about price that academics prove time and again— only to see it fails miserably in real life, real money situations. The right P/E ratio for a grocery store and a software company… and the essential mission that marks real value. In other words, you’ll discover why value rules in any market.

And… The Baby Blue Chip Biotech
Also, don’t forget, that along with these five powerfully profitable Strategic Reports, your subscription to the Rising Tide Letter comes with immediate access to the Strategic Report you’ll want to read first…

THE MOST IMPORTANT BIOTECH EVER – One company looks like it may have solved one of cancer treatment’s biggest riddles – how to kill only the targeted cancer cell and leave the healthy cells alone. I would like to share something with you. It’s about the real person you’re set to align yourself with – the real Lynn Carpenter. I came across this quite by accident the other day. It was published in Bill Bonner’s Daily Reckoning on Sept. 19, 2001… a difficult time for all Americans. But, it’s how we act in times such as those that distinguish the best of us. This should make you very proud to know Lynn.

“Lynn Carpenter recommended buying put options on Morgan Stanley about two weeks before the World Trade Center tragedy. Those who followed her advice more than doubled their money.

“Yet, immediately after trading resumed on September 17th, Lynn apologetically urged her readers to close the position and to seek no additional profit from Morgan Stanley's misfortune. Lynn says readers e-mailed to praise her character. They're discovering what the rest of already know... Lynn is a woman of the highest integrity.”

P.P.S. During a recent phone call with Lynn, she made a smart-assed remark about all the gold scamsters in the market today. I said, “Sounds like a good article.” The next day, Lynn did better than that. She delivered to my desk a Strategic Report that more than detailed her concerns. I want to send it to you right now, when you subscribe to the Rising Tide Letter. It’s called:

GOLDEN LIES – There’s a whole sector waiting to make suckers out of goldbugs. The lies are outrageous… the truth is hard to find. In this report Lynn Carpenter lays open the gold market for you and the fools who are trying to snatch your wallet. There is also a clearly stated case for the best gold play on the market today… it will surprise the heck out of you.

this is realy wealth secret

How a Broadway Songwriter Packed a Lifetime of Epic Stock Market Gains...Into Just Four Years of Remarkable Trading Success

Dear Fellow Betting Man,

If I'd told you that when my father first rented a hotel conference room to teach his trading secrets to the general public, a handful of them would turn a $25 initial investment into over $50,000 just five weeks later...would you take that bet?

Maybe not. But he did it nonetheless.

Only 22 people showed up to take his course. It was 1955. And for the $25 it took to get in, several of the attendees walked out and applied what he taught them...to the tune of $50,000 in gains just five weeks later.

Just to put that in perspective, in today's dollars, that's close to $343,520.

The second time my father offered the same investment training session, more than 200 students showed up. One of them was multimillionaire songwriter Broadway Billy Rose.

Billy was already rich, with an $8 million fortune - or about $55 million today - but what my father taught him that afternoon helped him grow that fortune to over $44 million over the next four years.

Or better than $308 million in today's dollars.

One heck of a lot more than Billy ever made writing hit songs for Broadway.

My father taught me those same secrets. I studied and worked alongside him, helping traders grow their wealth using these same secrets and the same investment technique, for most of my life.

My father's no longer with us now. He passed away in 1999, at the age of 81.

But his trading secrets continue to churn out highly lucrative picks, much more lucrative than straight stock investing, even though to do this you'll use exactly the same household-name stocks other investors already trade.

In fact, we just did this ourselves, from 2001 to the end of 2005...turning an initial investment of $5,000 into exactly $1,051,118...and averaging an incredible 103.9% gain for every single play we made in that time.

I'm going to show you how in the letter below.

I'll even give you $250 right up front...just to give this same strategy a try.

Plus, I'll give you a stunning guarantee: Do this and I guarantee you'll have at least 12 opportunities to double your money just over the year ahead.

The goal: for you to have the chance to make as much in trading profits over the next year to add an extra $150,000-200,000 to your trading portfolio...and for you to get the opportunity to make as much over the next five years to be up well over $1 million above where you're starting from today.

It's that simple.

How Could I Make Such a Bold Projection?

Just take a look at the record we've racked up already, using the single most reliable investment for quickly building this kind of "accelerated" or "compressed" potential trading wealth...

In 2001, 8 out of every 10 plays we identified - using this technique - shot up. Starting the year with just $5,000, you could have celebrated on New Year's Eve that same year with an extra $216,164 in your portfolio

By the end of 2002, you could have nearly doubled your total take again, using this same investment to pack on another $205,101 in new gains...for a total of $421,265

In 2003, you would have socked away another $189,463. That takes your portfolio to $610,728 (more than 20 times what the average U.S. family has saved for retirement today)

In 2004, you could have used this investment to add ANOTHER $221,300 to your total, in a single year, bringing your take so far up to an already whopping $832,028

And in 2005, you could have done what I'm recommending for a final burst of $219,090...bringing your total to exactly $1,051,118 by year's end.

And in 2006, you could have added another $138,841 to that already robust seven-figure total!

Yes, we had some blockbuster gains that helped us get those big numbers. 1,011%...898%...1,202%...472%...858%...589%...838%...We also had more than our share of smaller, faster gains. And sure, a few losers too.

But overall, even though just under 12% of the plays we made didn't work out during that period...nearly 89% of them did, well enough to give us an average gain per play of 103.9%...well enough to turn our initial investment of $5,000 into $1,051,118.

Wouldn't you call that impressive?

And We're Getting These Accelerated Gains
Without Chasing Risky, Unknown Stocks

Like I said, don't think you'd have to go far into the financial wilderness to make this work for you. We're not going to India or China or anywhere else overseas to get these returns.

We're doing it right here. With stocks you know. But with gains on those shares you might not have realized were possible, especially in the very short times we're holding most of these plays...

Like the 243% QUALCOMM plays we made from Oct. 2-Oct. 31, 2005...or the 247% we made trading IBM just two weeks later...not to mention 248% on our eBay trade from May 4-June 1, 2005...

Plus, the other QUALCOMM move that gave us an extra 398.5%...the five-week Newmont Mining play that gave us 420%...or the three-week Bed Bath & Beyond play that gave us 472% by Jan. 6, 2006...

Recently, a Harrah's play netted 260% in just 10 days. And 2007 has gotten off to a great start too, as the Bristol-Myers calls recently bagged 209% in just two and a half months.

Every one of these represents an actual triggered pick. And what I'm showing you here calculates, to the penny, what you could have made had you been there with us... jumping in at the trigger price and riding it right to the stellar peak value of each play. Simply by getting out at that peak, you could have piled up a fortune. But how is this possible?

Obviously, the companies themselves aren't rocketing up this much. Especially in those short weeks or even days that we're taking our gains. But there's one investment - well known, but rarely tapped into - that's letting us do this. With spectacular results.

The Single Quickest Path to
"Lifetime-Sized" Gains for Traders

This one investment maximizes returns while minimizing trading times. And while strictly limiting risk. What's more, it actually lets you own more shares of a company...at a price that's a fraction of the face value of the shares.

By now, you've guessed it. I'm talking about options.

I know what you're thinking. See, I know already that options have a very complex reputation on Wall Street. On the one hand, we learn early that they have risks. That's why most beginners avoid them. On the other hand, options let you profit in multiples of even small moves in underlying stocks.

Say a stock moves 5% or 10%. On that same move, the related options contract could easily soar 200%...300%...or even 500% above that amount. A good rule of thumb - expect the value of options prices to move as much as 10-to-1.

Regardless of whether those moves in the underlying share price go up or down. Either way, you can make money. Which is why more experienced investors find options so attractive.

Here's the thing.

While most investors don't know where to start with options...and many investors take more foolish risks with their options trades than they have to...I've found a way even for beginners to do this that's nearly foolproof, with a success rate that's unprecedented in almost any field of investing.

For instance, over the entire five-year period we're talking about - from 2001 to the end of 2006 - my little subscriber group has almost never seen a losing play. Even when they have, our gains have remained spectacular...

Using my special technique, I recommended exactly 46 options plays in 2001. Incredibly, 37 of them paid off - with gains as high as 1,202%...204%...332%...210%...172%...341%...331%...172%...just to name a few. And our average gain for the year was 94%

We did it all over again in 2002, with another 40 plays recommended. Another 9 of those were throwaways. But 31 of them hit big, for an average gain - winners and losers combined - of 103%. That's like batting .800 in the World Series!
Sample winners: 858%...296%...212%...360%...898%...and more

We made 39 plays in 2003. Only 4 didn't work out. The other 36 plays did so well our average gain for that year was 94.73%

For 2004, we did even better, with only one out of 35 plays missing the mark - and a stunning overall gain of 122.9%

In 2005, you might be stunned to discover, not one of our plays lost a dime. And we made 41 of them, in rapid fire. Yeah, but how well did they pay off? Very well. Our average gainer, across the board, gave my group of subscribers a handsome 104.3% average gain.

2006 was again no different. Every recommendation that triggered was a winner, totaling over $138,000 in gains. There were 10 wins of at least 100%.

Now, maybe you can see why I'm not worried that I'm going too far out on a limb making my "dozen money-doubler" guarantee. I happen to know we've done it before. And I happen to know how we plan to do it again.

Which is exactly why I'm writing you today...

Imagine Making 103.9%, Every Time You Trade

I told you earlier the long-term average gain for stock investors was 7%. That's not quite true. One Boston Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor pegs the realized return at closer to 5.2%. And over the last seven years, it's barely beaten - on average - 1.25%!

That's pitiful for straight-out stockholders.

But it doesn't matter one lick for savvy options traders. Because of the nature of options, we're making money regardless of which way the markets go. On average, 103.9% gains for every single time we've made a play.

Still not impressed?

In 2006, we did it again.

Every triggered recommendation for the year was again positive. Compare those wins to 2005, and you see that I haven't picked a loser in over 2 years. How do I do it?

I like to call my advantage - making big gains even while Wall Street indexes can barely beat a savings account - a kind of "compressed" or "accelerated" investing.

An even better name, one I've used a lot with my own group of subscribers, is what we call "super-leverage." Super-leverage is simply a way of trading that takes a small amount of upfront cash...and uses it to lock in a very large return...all in a very compressed period of time.

Just like using a small lever to start a boulder rolling down a mountain.

I've polished and perfected the work I do with options over the last 30 years. What I didn't teach myself I learned from my father, who was famous in his lifetime for his success in trading and teaching others to trade options.

And now I'm eager for you to give it a try...

I'll Even Give You $250,
Just to Help You Get Started...

I believe in this so solidly I'll pay you to try it. That's right.

Join us today and I'll "seed" you with $250, just to sweeten the pot.

And of course, that's in addition to my already unconditional guarantee to show you at least 12 new opportunities that will double your money over the next 12 months ahead.

Does that sound fair to you?

If you make "only" an extra $10,000...or even $100,000...doing this, and yet I fail to meet that 12-play target of money-doublers...I'll gladly invite you to cash in your chips, take your profits and whatever you paid to subscribe, and as easy as that we're done.

You'll know how this works. I'll know you've given it a try. And everybody is happy.

On the other hand, I actually expect to hand you many more than the 12 potentially money-doubling plays over the year. So in my mind, this is an excellent way to really show you what this strategy can do.

After all, consider...

When my charts pegged volatile Starbucks shares for a spike in price, I recommended the February $30 call options...and they shot up 260% in a single week

In September 2000, I got my readers into a put option on the Dow. Just 1 month later, it had shot up 358%

Microsoft looked like a dog. We snapped up puts for less than $350 a position. And had the opportunity to walk with a 243% GAIN

When Oracle looked like a disaster, I pushed my group of subscribers to jump into the put options. We waited just 4 weeks before we had already watched our position soar 229%

When I saw Intel about to rally, I shot out a bulletin recommending the call options at just under $144 per contract. In just 2 weeks, we were up 178%

FedEx made members 210% in just 19 days in May of 2006, and the put option I recommended made it possible

Just before Advanced Micro Devices bounced, we picked up the call options, and in just 3 days saw our own holdings skyrocket 100%...

I'll even give you five more FREE gifts, all geared to help you get up to speed on my technique...and options trading in general...as quickly as possible. Details in just a second.

But know this, immediately: We're doing this. And we're doing it right now, with remarkable ease and consistency. I can guess that making money with the same kind of ease is something you'd be interested in.

So I'm going to give it to you. The whole secret to our enormous success thus far. In the letter that follows. All I ask in return is that over the next few minutes you let me make my case and show you how it's done.

There's no pressure. Except maybe from seeing the results themselves...260% gains in a week...240% in 16 days...431% in three weeks...308% in two weeks...838% in six weeks...1,202% profits in six weeks.

Otherwise, at the end of this letter, I promise to leave the decision to try this options trading advantage entirely up to you. For now, though, I'm eager to get started. So here's what we're going to do...

Let Me Introduce Myself

My name is Steve Sarnoff.

I've already mentioned my father, the famous Paul Sarnoff - widely recognized during his lifetime as one of the greatest options traders in the world.

I mentioned I started working with options trading early in life, at my father's side.

Now, more than 30 years later...I've managed to polish and perfect our family techniques to a level even my famous father never imagined possible.

When he passed away in 1999, I took up the torch and started helping readers of my father's advisory service, called Options Hotline, apply these same secrets to their own options trading fortunes.

Our success in the years since has been massive...

230% on IBM in just 39 DAYS...378% on Mandalay Resort Group in just 31 DAYS...and 336% on the iShares Lehman 20-Year Treasuries in a SINGLE DAY...

419% gains on Sony Corp. in just under 2 MONTHS...508% gains on QUALCOMM in only 4 MONTHS...393% gains on General Electric in only 1 MONTH...

898% gains on TRW in only 31 DAYS...360% on Halliburton in only 35 DAYS...another 292% on QUALCOMM in 22 DAYS...431% gains on Pfizer in only 17 DAYS...

Plus 177% gains on the Bank of New York in just 14 DAYS...341% gains on Biopure in just 23 DAYS...and 1,202% gains on General Motors in only 46 DAYS...

I worried at first that I wouldn't be able to live up to my father's great legacy.

But as you can see, our huge profit run has been uncommonly consistent, too...

In 2006 I recommended 30 Total Plays That
Triggered - and Look at the Results!

That's just the start. The list goes on and on.

Now, I don't mean to boast, but 2006 was just another typical year for Options Hotline. Roughly one out of every three triggered recommendations gave members the chance to see triple digit gains.

Fact is - every single pick I make gives you this chance - the gains are literally limitless.

All my triggered picks ended up in positive territory, and that translates to money in your pocket!

Options Hotline has been enjoying a tremendous run over the past few years, and in the interest of completeness, we should take a look at a snapshot of each of those years.

As you'll see - the success of 2006 is supported by a solid foundation of years upon years in which Options Hotline has out-performed even the most daring expectations!

Out of 41 Total Plays in 2005, Not a Single
One Was a Loser...and 13 of Them Could
Have Tripled Every Dollar Invested

I made 41 trading recommendations last year.

Every one of them was an options play. And all but six of them gave my Options Hotline readers the chance for at least double-digit gains. Not bad? It gets better.A phenomenal baker's dozen of those plays actually could have tripled traders' money. Or better.

The overall average gain? 104.33%.

Remember, that's the average...meaning all the trades combined. With a 100% success rate on our recommendations, maybe you think an average performance like that is just a given.

But take a look at what happens when I lay it out for you play by play...

Pretty good? Pretty great, I'd say.

Also, a great way to follow up on what could have been another great winning streak for you in 2004, when we also piled on many winners plus an enormous average gain...

Out of 35 Total Plays in 2004,
34 Made the Grade...and We Averaged
122.9% Gains on Every Play

If you'd put just $5,000 into each of our plays in 2004, you could have finished the year with a whopping $221,300 in your trading portfolio...just with five minutes per week, following the plays I sent out to the others in my small group of privileged subscribers.

I gave 35 different opportunities to trade options this way during the year. Out of those, only one didn't make the cut. The rest did well enough to give us an average gain of 122.94%.

The individual winners were jaw-dropping...

<img src="http://www.agora-inc.com/reports/OHL/images/billynumbers2.gif" 20% or better, several of them in just five days or less of trading...with at least a dozen of those plays delivering 100% gains or better...

<img src="http://www.agora-inc.com/reports/OHL/images/billynumbers3.gif" I'm proud to say that we regularly deliver competition-crushing winners using the same strategy I'll show you today...

Gainers like our 45% on General Motors...another 64% on Bank of America...48% on Microsoft...the 80% play on AMEX-listed DIAMONDS...46% on Caterpillar...34% on Hasbro...and 180% on Glamis Gold.

But I'm sure by now you're wondering...

What's the secret to our phenomenal success? How is what we're doing so different from what everyone else does to try winning with options?

A 200-Year-Old Trading Secret That Could
Double Your Money at Least 12 Times This
Year...Guaranteed or You Pay Nothing!

I've told you about my father's, Paul Sarnoff's, world-renowned techniques.

His true gift was simple discipline and, from what I can tell you firsthand, uncanny mathematical genius. But he also knew how to teach other options traders to keep their heads.

That's paid off extremely well for me and my group of Options Hotline members already.

But what I haven't told you about is another secret, one I discovered entirely on my own...and ended up turning the tables by my teaching to my father instead!

It goes way back...past my days working the commodity exchange floor in New York...past my work as a pro analyst for Dean Witter of California...and even past the time when I ran my own advisory firm in San Diego.

To over 200 years ago, in the days of a 26-year-old Japanese rice farmer, Munehisa Homma.

See, Homma was the youngest son of a rice-farming family. Working the fields bored him fast. But the selling process in the open market fascinated him.

It moved fast. Prices soared and fell. Almost without logic, but always rife with emotion.

Emotion is a very hard thing to measure when you're trying to master the pricing trends of a commodity. But Homma, one of the early geniuses of the system I'm about to reveal to you, worked out a very creative solution.

First, he put men on rooftops stretching from Osaka to Sakata. Each had flags to wave, letting Homma know whether prices in the market had risen or fallen. This way, he could track the wave of sentiment from one market to the next...long before anyone else on the local trading floor.

Homma made so much money so fast doing this that he decided he needed to go directly to the Dojima Rice Exchange in Osaka...to start trading rice futures, right there in the heart of the action.

That's where a brilliant tool called "candlestick charting" was born...

They're called "candlesticks" because, very simply, they look like candles.

When you first see the chart at work, it's mystifyingly simple.

But legend has it that Homma himself once used this very simple charting technique to make 100 winning trades in a row. We've come close enough ourselves that I believe it.

The white bars show the stock closing higher than it opened. Buyers are dominating the trading and feeding the frenzy.

The black bars show a close that's lower than the opening price. Sellers have the upper hand and the share price is more likely to head down.

The "red alert" moment, though, is the third line, where you see no bar at all. That's what's called a "doji." You get a doji line when the market reaches a crisis point. The doji reveals indecision - which is the exact moment when the market is most likely to turn!

Using this, Homma went from being a simple rice farmer to one of the richest market traders in Japanese history. And I've been able to use it, 250 years later, to give a handful of potential options traders the chance to become extremely rich.

See, in 1986, my father brought me a book from Asia. It was inside this book that I discovered Homma's story and the secret of candlesticks for myself. I was hooked in an instant.

So much that I did research into the original Japanese studies, after having them translated into English. Would you need to do the same to match our success? Not at all.

Because I already do this work for my Options Hotline readers, week after week.

And I'm happy to do this for you too.

See, unlike what other options analysts do, I've mastered a system for using these charts to show me in an instant where underlying stocks are headed...how strong or weak the support for those moves will be...how much price resistance we'll meet...even when the options we're trading will pop...plus how much you should pay for each option...and how much I expect you to make before it's all said and done.

This simple chart is that powerful.

Of course, I've taken it to a much more advanced level since. I watch over two dozen different candlestick signals today to help me pick the best plays for my Options Hotline members.

Long and short candlesticks..."marubozu" charts...candlesticks with long shadows..."spinning top" candlesticks..."long-legged" dojis... "dragonfly" and "gravestone" dojis..."star positions"..."harami positions"..."inverted hammers" and "hanging man" candlesticks...

But like I said, you don't need to worry about any of that. I read these charts now like a reflex, like a doctor peers at an X-ray. All you have to do is take four minutes to skim through the resulting recommendations I'll send you each week.

Each alert contains a one-line summary that could not be more simple to understand. My recommendation is clear and you need only decide if the time is right for you to get in on a chance at profits.

Simple as that sounds, the results so far have been spectacular...
