I would not be so ardent about showing people this method if it hadnt literally saved my life. I thought I was cursed for life, seriously. I couldnt sleep, had terrifying feelings and sensations all over my body, had very macabre and distrubing thoughts, but THEY DO NOT MATTER ANYMORE. They simply do not exist and I will not get into the very gross and disturbing details of my anxiety/panic past. I just want to talk about my well and balanced PRESENT and tell you, honestly, that you can do it! Please believe me. The Linden Method is like a step up from CBT, though it does use the same techniques on a fundamental level. The method I used doesn't allow you to "put it off" or get feelings like "Im too scared to do this, I give up". There are a lot of parts to the method but its overall methodology is very simple and scientific. It focuses mainly on the amygdala and Charles' discovery that this small organ in the brain is one of the main culprits in panic/anxiety conditions and once you completely "reprogram" this organ it is impossible to relapse. This taken with the many health and other tips in the pack make for a perfect arsenal. It took me ohhhhh... about 6 months to get to what I would call 90% well where I didnt need the method anymore. I started working again and doing Qi Kung every morning made me feel like I could tackle any sort of physical work easily. It just makes you feel better all around. Another thing I should mention about this great method is how quickly it begins to work. Within 3 days I was panic attack free. I remember my last panic attack and realizing "This will never happen again", and it didn't. This for me was one of the most amazing parts of the method. Once I commited myself to the CD called the "panic eliminator" I was panic free in about 6 hours. When you first listen to this CD you might think, like I did, "this is crazy, does he really want me to do this?" After a few days of letting the information sink in I decided to dive into the actual practice that it tells you to do and BOOM, done! It is hard for people to understand when I say I cured myself from panic and anxiety completely using just one method. I think because it quite trully is too good to believe to be true. This was a major frustration for me. I would fix one section of the track and the next day the train would derail on another section.
It frustrated me to the point of wanting to give the hobby away..!
A smooth running model train is a dream for most model train beginners. But it is actually quite easy to achieve with a little attention to detail.
Here are 7 ways to stop your model train derailing:
1 – Ensure every joint on your track is level, aligned and properly fitted.
Sounds like common sense? But poorly assembled track joints are the worst offenders for derailing model trains.
Slide your finger across the joint. It should feel level with the gap between the tracks kept to the absolute minimum. I solder my joints because this stops any problems with expansion and contraction opening and closing of the joints.
With a small file I am able to create a continuously level track and have a beautifully smooth running model train.
2 – Check your track gauge on joints, turnouts and frog assemblies.
Another common problem for model train derailments is incorrect track gauge. A tight track gauge will cause the wheels to climb up and derail off the track.
A wide track gauge will also derail your model train as the wheel flanges can not span the track properly. The gauge can be adjusted using a soldering iron to gently heat the rail, moving the rail to the correct position and allowing it to cool.
3 – Check your switch points for sharpness when they switch.
Some new switch points can be fairly blunt on the movable section where it strikes up against the stock rails. This can grab on the wheels and cause a model train derailment.
A small file can be used to gently smooth the moveable part of the points to allow a nice smooth transition. Remember to check the gauge in both positions.
4 – Check all your model train couplers.
A snagging coupler will cause model train derailments. Some new carriages can come with unpolished couplers which can catch and force derailments.
Clean off any rough edges and adjust the couplers for proper centering. The manufacturers usually provide these instructions.
5 – Add extra weight to your freight cars.
I find that most freight cars are too light and sometimes all the wheels do not contact the rails equally. By adding a small amount of weight to the cars your model train will run smoother and you will eliminate derailments, especially on the tight radius’s.
Just make sure you add the weight as low as possible to the car and in the centre, keeping a low center of gravity.
6 – Check all your wheel sets for proper operation.
Wheel sets that are out of gauge, not aligned or moving freely will cause your model train to derail. Check your wheel sets and make sure that your carriages are not crabbing and forcing the wheel flanges into the rail, making it prone to derail.
The carriages should rock freely to take up any small imperfections in your track.
7 – Lubricate the squeaks.
Sometimes the smallest drop of light oil will cure a problem with your model train derailing. An unlubricated or snaggy wheel, or coupler, can cause a slight tip over, or jar, which usually forces the wheel flange to snag the rail and derail your model train.
Oil attracts dust and can damage paintwork, so make sure you use only the smallest amount required.

Due to the recent implementation of Nagra 3 encryption, more and more FTA hobbyists will consider pointing at true FTA satellites.

If you really look into it you can find a lot of channels for true FTA receivers. What is really important when thinking of hitting a true FTA satellite is what the type of band the signal is.

FTA and satellites broadcast in two types of bands. One is C Band which will require a very large dish. This would typically be a 6 foot dish and an LNB that is capable of receiving a C Band signal.

The other band which is the most popular with FTA enthusiasts is the KU Band. The KU Band is more popular due to the fact that the dish is smaller and easier to install.
To receive most FTA birds like Galaxy 97 or Galaxy 18 you will need a dish that is a minimum of 30 inches. It is better to have a larger dish such as a 33 inch or a 36 inch dish. It is also possible to receive some FTA satellites using the epiliptical dish such as a SuperDish like the 500 series dish.

Now we have to look at the signal we are receiving from the KU band. Satellite networks such as DirecTV, Dish Network, and Bell use a circular LNB. What we need though for most FTA satellites is a linear LNB. Since most linear signals are weaker than the circular signals we need a larger dish than an 18 inch or 22 inch dish.

So you want to get a TV antenna and watch your local channels for free? Sure, this can be done and makes good financial sense. Your next question might be, "What antenna should I get?". Well, we need to do some good explaining for you to make an informed decision.

Whether you have cable or satellite television, you probably do not get all the local channels you could. For an investment of $30 to $250 dollars, this small investment will give you hours of great tv entertainment.

To start, we need to find what channels we can get where we are located. Two great websites for this are AntennaWeb.org and also TVFool.com. They both work the same. Just enter your address and you will get a listing of channels in your area AND also what type of antenna you need.

The smallest antenna would be anything from the old rabbit ear types to the set top with a built in amplifier. This is the type of antenna that might be best for you if you live in a major city or right outside one. What you need to remember is bigger isn't better. When channels were broadcast in analog the standard television used NTSC to convert the analog signal into the image and sound you received on your television. To use your NTSC television you will need to purchase a digital converter box. This will allow you to convert the digital signal to an analog signal.

If you are lucky enough to have a newer television with an ATSC tuner you do not need a converter box. This is because an ATSC tuner converts or decodes a digital signal into the images you would see on a newer television.

Having local digital television stations has advantages over the old analog format. Due to how the spectrum works with digital compared to analog, television stations can now also broadcast what are known as substations. These substations may carry weather, news, affiliate broadcast, movies, or anything that can be broadcast.

Many local tv stations now have anywhere from 1 to 3 substations broadcasting over the air.
