100. Victoria Beckham

100. Victoria Beckham

I was tempted to not include Posh Spice at all. On one hand, she’s gone all Jenna Jameson on us, and that’s not good. When you look like you hail from another planet, something’s gone wrong. But she still has her moments, and she’s an important historical figure from the World of WAGs, often dubbed the Queen of WAGs. So she gets some credit for that. Plus by cracking the list, I can forego all the comments about “where’s Posh?”

Martina Stella....

Although married, the Romanian striker has been seen on the town with the Italian television and film actress. Her mistress role makes her a dubious WAG, but we’re willing to bend the roles a bit. As an actress, Stella’s roles have mainly been in Italian, but she at least seems to be an actual, legit actress (as opposed to a showgirl who takes her boobs to a movie). She even landed a small role in the Hollywood hit Ocean’s Twelve (even if it’s considered the worst of the trilogy) and can be seen in award-winning director Rob Marshall’s upcoming film Nine. One reviewer even compared her to “a young Reese Witherspoon,”

Carly Zucker

Zucker literally means sugar in German, and Carly certainly looks sweet. She makes her living as a fitness trainer, and doesn’t carry around the typical WAG baggage. But I’ll admit that she just doesn’t do it for me looks wise. At least not as much as these other girls. However, she has a number of supporters, and I simply couldn’t leave her off this ranking. The picture above is from her Lynx campaign (with the questionable ad slogan “Unleash the Man Leather”), where she did her best Raquel Welch cavewoman impression.

Kate Lawler

Here’s something anyone can appreciate: Lawler ran the 2008 London Marathon. Not impressive enough? She did it in lingerie. Although not because she wanted to, it was part of an effort to raise money for a Cystic Fibrosis charity. A former IT Support worker, Lawler rose to fame after winning the third British season of Big Brother. Since then she’s worked as a television presenter and personality, a model, and mostly as a disc jockey. Her MySpace page claims she’s “unquestionably one of the most in demand and popular female DJ’sinthe UK today.” I’d rather hire her than some sweaty overweight dude.

Hollywood Actress Evan Rachel Wood

Evan Rachel Wood

Custom Glitter Text

Only 21, Evan Rachel Wood is just at the start of her Hollywood career. To this date she has mainly shunned larger films, opting to act mostly in independent films. But don’t overlook her. She has the talent to win an academy award, and soon if she can maintain her high level of acting. Plus a bonus for the guys, she has split from rocker Marilyn Manson. Yes, she was dating him. Maybe because she can sing a little and he’s a rock star, and well I really don’t know what she saw in him. Let’s just pretend that relationship never happened. It’s for the best. And we can forgive her since she young.

Biggest Hit: The Missing, where she plays Cate Blanchett’s daughter in the Ron Howard directed Western about a child kidnapped by Navajos in the 1880s. Admittedly, pickings are slim in terms of “hits” with Wood thus far, but that should change with time.

Unappreciated Gem: Across the Universe, the Julie Taymor directed Beatles musical is filled with classic songs and a ton of style with Wood as the leading lady, Lucy (but not in the sky with diamonds). It’s one of the better films of 2007.

Upcoming Feature: The Wrestler, a Darren Aronofsky drama centered on a retired professional wrestler as he makes his way through the independent circuit. Wood play the wrestler’s daughter.

Natalie Portman

Portman first started acting at a young age, and has appeared in a number of major hits ever since. Her turn in the Star Wars prequels helped cement her leading lady status, and now she has a full range of movies to choose from, varying from costume drama to action based stories. She’s at the point that she’s even begun a directorial career in tandem to her acting career.

Biggest Hit: The Star Wars Prequel Trilogy, where she received worldwide fame as Queen/Senator Amidala.

Unappreciated Gem: Beautiful Girls, the nostalgia drama features a ten year high school reunion, with Portman playing the impossibly cute next door neighbor to Timothy Hutton’s Willie Conway. Also V for Vendetta is a very strong film that has been overlooked by some and more prominently features Portman.

Upcoming Feature: Brothers, a remake of the 2004 Danish war drama, she will star opposite Tobey Maguire and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Kirsten Dunst

Custom Glitter Text

It seems like she’s been around forever, and in part that’s true. Dunst began her career early, appearing as a child fashion model in television commercials at the age of three. At age seven she was appearing in feature films, with her breakout coming at the age of 12. A series of leading roles would eventually follow, and Dunst has appeared in virtually any kind of movie in her young career. At only 26, she still has plenty of time to appear in many more.

Breakout Role: Interview with the Vampire, as the child vampire Claudia in a Golden Globe nominated performance.

Biggest Hit: The Spiderman trilogy, where Dunst plays Mary Jane, the love interest of Peter Parker/Spiderman.

Unappreciated Gem: The Virgin Suicides, a story that revolves around a group of mysterious sisters who are sheltered by their strict, religious parents after one of them commits suicide. Also, I can’t go with out mentioning the guilty pleasure cheerleader comedy Bring it On.

Upcoming Feature: All Good Things, coming in 2009, its a detective story concerning a missing persons case that may spell doom for the heir to a New York real estate dynasty.

Artistes should be free to work wherever they want

I would like to act in a Bollywood film. It's not my forte, but I want to give it a try," Aslam told IANS on telephone from Lahore. He is appreciated not just for his singing abilities but also for his suave looks and style statement.

"I have various offers from Bollywood but nothing has been finalised. I am reading scripts at the moment. Once something is finalised, I will make an official announcement," he added.

Aslam gained popularity in Pakistan with his band "Jal". He made his presence felt in India with the song "Aadat" in the film "Kalyug". He became a name to reckon with, delivering hit songs like "Woh lamhe" from the film "Woh Lamhe", "Pehli nazar mein" from "Race" and "Bakhuda" from "Kismat Konnection".

"Music is an art form that has no boundaries. Artistes don't belong to a nation; they should be free to work wherever they want to," he said.

However, the singer has kept his Indian assignments limited. When asked for the reason, the 26-year-old said he believes in quality rather than quantity.

"I have always focussed on quality work and not quantity. I am not singing just for money and fame. I am singing for myself because I like it. Thus, selecting a few but nice songs was a conscious effort. The lyrics of a song are very important to me," he said.

Aslam also revealed he had never planned to sing in Indian films, but it just happened.

"Bollywood just happened to me. I had not planned it this way. I was quite successful in Pakistan; so I started getting offers from the Hindi film industry too. I like singing in Indian films because you get a lot of exposure here. You get to learn many things," he said.

The singer has sung two songs - "Tera hone laga hoon" and "Tu Jaana na" - in the romantic comedy "Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani".

Talking about the success of "Tera hone laga hoon", which has been picturised on Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor, Aslam said: "While singing the song, I never thought that the song would become such a big hit. It's all because of the blessing of god that most songs I sing become hits."

I have acting offers from Bollywood: Atif

Atif Aslam, who crooned his way into the hearts of Indians withhas revealed he has acting offers from and is open to them. ‘Artists don’t belong to any nation’, he says.

“I would like to act in a Bollywood film. It’s not my forte, but I want to give it a try,” Aslam said. He is appreciated not just for his singing abilities but also for his suave looks and style statement.I have various offers from Bollywood but nothing has been finalized. Atif Aslam wins Best Supporting Singer award for complementing chorus

Mumbai. Leading singer Atif Aslam has been awarded the “Best Supporting Singer” award by Indian Music Academy (IMA) for beautifully complementing the chorus singers in the song “Tu Jaane Na” of the Bollywood movie “Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani”. This is the first major Indian award for the Pakistani singer who is quite popular in India and has been singing regularly for Bollywood movies, but it has triggered a debate in the musical society.

While the supporter of Atif Aslam have termed the award as bogus and ‘derogatory’ for relegating the lead singer to a secondary role, chorus singers have welcomed the award saying it was a much needed, though also much delayed, recognition of their contribution to the music industry.

Atif is seen singing solo (without chorus) here in a live concert

“There was time when All India Radio would term singers of a song as ‘Kishore Kumar and Sathi’ and people were left wondering who this Sathi was? In fact I know of a Vijayendra, the property dealer of Sathi Builders & Developers in Vashi, who had confused many people by claiming that he used to sing in Hindi movies. Chorus singers were always ignored and never appreciated, but now IMA has tried to undo this wrong. I welcome this step.” Sameer Sawant, a chorus singer who has sung in various Bollywood movies said.

But supporters of Atif Aslam are not impressed. They argue that the category of “Best Supporting Singer” was ‘invented’ by IMA to insult Atif. They wonder why they never heard of this category in any Music Awards function anywhere else in the world.

“Where was this category of award all these years? Why suddenly now and why Atif only? Why didn’t they award Anu Malik in this category when he sang ‘why did you break my heart’ lines during ‘Dil Mera Churaya Kyun’ song in ‘Akele Hum Akele Tum’? This is all bullshit. An attempt to discourage Atif and nothing else.” Ravi Raut, a die-hard fan of Atif Aslam argued.

The supporters of Atif were further enraged by playback singer Abhijeet, who had earlier called Atif Aslam ‘besura’ (out of tune singer), when he claimed that if at all Atif was to be awarded, he should have been awarded for complementing ‘recording machines’ and not chorus singers. Abhijeet claimed that he had the support of many Pakistani singers on this issue.

Meanwhile music lovers, who are finding “Tu Jaane Na” a very soulful and romantic song, have criticized all the parties to this controversy and have accused media organizations like Faking News of giving undue importance to non-issues. Faking News pleads guilty to the charges as we fear being beaten up by hockey-sticks if we raised real issues.

Hollywood’s Top Young Actresses

Rachel McAdams

McAdams barely cracks this list in two ways, first by being number ten and second by being born on November 17, 1978. At 29 years and change, she just fits under the age limit. No matter, McAdams has a bright future ahead of her with her good looks and choice of diverse roles. This Canadian has already show success in both the comedy and drama genres.

Breakout Role: The Notebook, where she plays the young Allie Hamilton in the adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks tearjerker. Mean Girls actually came out first and helped McAdams gets noticed, but The Notebook made her an instant sensation among young women and garnered her a record five nominations and three wins at the MTV Movie Awards.

Biggest Hit: Wedding Crashers, where she plays Owen Wilson’s love interest in the 2005 hit comedy.

Or Zhang Ziyi, depending on whether you follow American or Chinese traditions. At 29, Zhang is already one of the best known Chinese actors or actresses, with a string of international hits coupled with a few Hollywood films under her belt. Included in her film career thus far are several martial arts films, a bonus for any action fans. It remains to be seen exactly how much work Zhang will do for American audiences, but many of her international roles have made waves in the U.S., and she has already won critical acclaim, including three British Academy nominations.

Breakout Role: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, in the Ang Lee action drama about two warriors in pursuit of a stolen sword , Zhang plays Jen Yu.

Bohemia (Czech: Čechy;^[1] German: Böhmen (help·info); Polish: Czechy; French: Bohême; Latin: Bohemia) is a historical region in central Europe, occupying the western two-thirds of the traditional Czech Lands, currently the Czech Republic. In a broader meaning, it often refers to the entire Czech territory, including Moravia and Czech Silesia,^[2] especially in historical contexts, such as the Kingdom of Bohemia.

Bohemia has an area of 52,750 km² and today is home to 6.25 million of the Czech Republic's 10.3 million inhabitants. It is bordered by Germany to the southwest, west, and northwest, Poland to the north-east, the Czech historical region of Moravia to the east, and Austria to the south. Bohemia's borders are marked with mountain ranges such as the Bohemian Forest, the Ore Mountains, and the Krkonoše within the Sudeten mountains.
