Mega Star:Jennifer Lopez

2011-01-20T16:27:00.000-08:00

Mini Bio

Jennifer Lynn Lopez born July 24, 1969 nickname J.Lo

Is the richest person of Latin American descent in Hollywood according to Forbes, and the most influential Hispanic entertainer in the U.S. according to People en Español's list of "100 Most Influential Hispanics".She parlayed her media fame into a fashion line and various perfumes with her celebrity endorsement. Outside of her work in the entertainment industry, Lopez advocates human rights, vaccinations and is a supporter of Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

Lopez began her career as a dancer on the television comedy program In Living Color. She subsequently ventured into acting and gained recognition in the 1995 action-thriller Money Train. Lopez's first leading role was in the biographical film Selena (1997), in which she earned an ALMA Award for Outstanding Actress. She earned her second ALMA Award for her performance in the 1998 film Out of Sight. She then starred in the romantic comedies such as The Wedding Planner (2001) and Maid in Manhattan (2002). Lopez had bigger commercial successes with Shall We Dance? (2004) and Monster-in-Law (2005).

In 1999, Lopez released her debut studio album On the 6, which spawned the number one hit single, "If You Had My Love". Her second studio album, J.Lo (2001), was a commercial success, selling eight million copies worldwide. J to tha L-O!: The Remixes (2002), became her second consecutive album to debut at number one on the Billboard 200. Her third and fourth studio albums—This Is Me... Then (2002) and Rebirth (2005)—peaked at number two on the Billboard 200. In 2007, Lopez released two albums, including her first full Spanish-language album, Como Ama una Mujer, and her fifth English studio album, Brave. She won the 2003 American Music Award for Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist and the 2007 American Music Award for Favorite Latin Artist. To date, Lopez has sold over 25 million albums worldwide. Lopez was ranked the 27th Artist of the 2000–10 decade by Billboard.

Reports circulated in mid-2010 that Lopez would join the judging panel of American Idol.In September 2010, the program's producers officially confirmed that Lopez had joined the series.

From her 2007 pregnancy Lopez had been writing her then-confirmed seventh studio album, Love? due for release in Summer 2011. It features productions from Danja, Jim Jonsin, Darkchild, Chris n Teeb (from Dropzone), Tricky Stewart, The-Dream, D'Mile Mike Caren, Jean Baptiste and The Neptunes. A song titled "Fresh Out The Oven" featuring Miami rapper Pitbull surfaced online in October 2009 but her record label said that it was simply a buzz single. It has since topped the Hot Dance Club Songs chart. The project's official lead single, "Louboutins", had its radio debut on November 23, 2009, following the song's premiere and performance at the 2009 American Music Awards. The song only managed to enter the Hot Dance Club Play chart six weeks after release and reaching number 1, however, it failed to enter any other chart, including the Billboard Hot 100. In late February 2010, it was confirmed that Lopez and Epic Records have parted ways.

Lopez's manager, Benny Medina confirmed the news saying "Jennifer had a wonderful relationship with the Sony Music Group, and they have shared many successes together, but the time was right to make a change that best serves the direction of her career as an actress and recording artist, she is grateful and appreciative to everyone at Sony for all that they accomplished together."Lopez later released a statement to the media where she said that she had already completed her contractual obligations with Sony Music Entertainment and Epic Records and decided it was for the best to end the partnership on amicable terms. She added that she found a new "home" [record label] for the album 'Love?' and it will be coming out Summer 2010.Shortly after being spotted talking to Island Def Jam Music Group's chairman and CEO L.A. Reid, it was confirmed on March 19, 2010 that Lopez signed with Def Jam Recordings, and is working on new material for Love? with RedZone Entertainment (Kuk Harrell, The-Dream and Tricky Stewart).

Philanthropy

Lopez is an avid supporter of Children's Hospital Los Angeles and was presented with the Children's Humanitarian Award at the hospital's inaugural Noche de Niños gala in September 2004. Lopez continues to attend the annual red carpet event and is a regular visitor to the hospital. The singer participated in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon benefiting the hospital in 2008. In May 2009, Lopez formed The Maribel Foundation, with the goal of supporting Children's Hospital Los Angeles and improving health care internationally.

On February 14, 2007, Lopez received the Artists for Amnesty International award "in recognition of her work as producer and star of Bordertown, a film exposing the ongoing murders of hundreds of women in the border city of Juárez, Mexico". Nobel Peace Prize winner José Ramos-Horta presented the award to Lopez at the Berlin International Film Festival. She also received special recognition and thanks from Norma Andrade, co-founder of Nuestras Hijas de Regreso a Casa A.C. ("May Our Daughters Return Home, Civil Association"), an organization consisting of mothers and families of the murdered women of Juárez.

Lopez has also been involved in promoting vaccination for whooping cough. Lopez is working with Sounds of Pertussis and March of Dimes to promote awareness about the disease and encourage vaccination of adults to prevent spread of disease to infants.

Mega Star:Britney Spears

2011-01-11T16:25:00.000-08:00

Mini Bio

Britney Jean Spears was born on December 2, 1981, the second child of Lynne Irene and James Parnell Spears.

She is of English heritage through her maternal grandmother, who was born in London, and of distant Maltese descent.

Her siblings are Bryan James and Jamie Lynn-(Zoey 101).

At age three, she started to attend dance lessons in her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana, and was selected to perform a solo at the annual recital. During her childhood, she also attended gymnastics and voice lessons, and won many state-level competitions and children's talent shows. Spears made her local stage debut at age five, singing "What Child Is This?" at her kindergarten graduation. She said about her ambition as a child, "I was in my own world, [...] I found out what I'm supposed to do at an early age". At age eight, Spears and her mother Lynne traveled to Atlanta for an audition in the 1990s revival of The Mickey Mouse Club. Casting director Matt Cassella rejected her for being too young to join the series at the time, but introduced her to Nancy Carson, a New York City talent agent. Carson was impressed with Spears's vocals and suggested enrolling her at the Professional Performing Arts School; shortly after, Lynne and her daughters moved to a sublet apartment in New York. Spears was hired for her first professional role, as the understudy for the lead role of Tina Denmark in the Off-Broadway musical Ruthless!. She also appeared as a contestant on the popular television show Star Search, as well as being cast in a number of commercials. In December 1992, she was finally cast in The Mickey Mouse Club, but returned to Kentwood after the show was cancelled. She enrolled at Parklane Academy in nearby McComb, Mississippi. Although she made friends with most of her classmates, she compared the school to "the opening scene in Clueless with all the cliques. [...] I was so bored. I was the point guard on the basketball team. I had my boyfriend, and I went to homecoming and Christmas formal. But I wanted more."

In June 1997, Spears was in talks with manager Lou Pearlman to join female pop group Innosense. Lynne asked family friend and entertainment lawyer Larry Rudolph for his opinion and submitted a tape of Spears singing over a Whitney Houston karaoke song along with some pictures. Rudolph decided he wanted to pitch her to record labels, therefore she needed a professional demo. He sent Spears an unused song from Toni Braxton; she rehearsed for a week and recorded her vocals in a studio with a sound engineer. Spears travelled to New York with the demo and met with executives from four labels, returning to Kentwood the same day. Three of the labels rejected her, arguing audiences wanted pop bands such as The Backstreet Boys and The Spice Girls, and "there wasn't going to be another Madonna, another Debbie Gibson, or another Tiffany." Two weeks later, executives from Jive Records returned calls to Rudolph. Senior vice president of A&R Jeff Fenster stated about Spears's audition that "It's very rare to hear someone that age who can deliver emotional content and commercial appeal. [...] For any artist, the motivation—the 'eye of the tiger'— is extremely important. And Britney had that." They appointed her to work with producer Eric Foster White for a month, who reportedly shaped her voice from "lower and less poppy" delivery to "distinctively, unmistakably Britney." After hearing the recorded material, president Clive Calder ordered a full album. Spears had originally envisioned "Sheryl Crow music, but younger more adult contemporary" but felt alright with her label's appointment of producers, since "It made more sense to go pop, because I can dance to it—it's more me." She flew to Cheiron Studios in Stockholm, Sweden, where half of the album was recorded from March to April 1998, with producers Max Martin, Denniz PoP and Rami, among others.

Legacy

Spears became an international pop culture icon immediately after launching her recording career. Rolling Stone magazine wrote: "One of the most controversial and successful female vocalists of the 21st century," she "spearheaded the rise of post-millennial teen pop ... Spears early on cultivated a mixture of innocence and experience that broke the bank".[154] She is listed by the Guinness World Records as having the "Best-selling album by a teenage solo artist" for her debut album ...Baby One More Time which sold over thirteen million copies in the United States.[155] Melissa Ruggieri of the Richmond Times-Dispatch reported, "She's also marked for being the best-selling teenage artist. Before she turned 20 in 2001, Spears sold more than 37 million albums worldwide".

Barbara Ellen of The Observer has reported: "Spears is famously one of the 'oldest' teenagers pop has ever produced, almost middle aged in terms of focus and determination. Many 19-year-olds haven't even started working by that age, whereas Britney, a former Mouseketeer, was that most unusual and volatile of American phenomena — a child with a full-time career. While other little girls were putting posters on their walls, Britney was wanting to be the poster on the wall. Whereas other children develop at their own pace, Britney was developing at a pace set by the ferociously competitive American entertainment industry". 'Britney Spears' has been Yahoo!'s most popular search term for the last four consecutive years, seven times in total. Spears was named as Most Searched Person in the Guinness World Records book edition 2007 and 2009. Spears has also become a major influence among many new artists, including Kristinia DeBarge, Lady Gaga, Little Boots, Selena Gomez & The Scene, Pixie Lott and Miley Cyrus who has cited Spears as one of her biggest inspirations and has also referenced Spears in her hit song "Party in the U.S.A.".

Bebo Norman wrote a song about Spears, called "Britney", which was released as a single. Boy band Busted also wrote a song about Spears called "Britney", which was on their debut album. She is also mentioned in P!nk's song "Don't Let Me Get Me". Richard Cheese called Britney Spears "a remarkable recording artist" and also went on to say that she was "versatile" and what the industry calls an "artist". People magazine and MTV reported that October 1, 2008, the Bronx's John Philip Sousa Middle School, named their music studio in honor of Britney Spears.Spears herself was present during the ceremony and donated $10,000 to the school's music program.

Career Highlights

She has earned 292 nominations in her illustrious twelve year career & won 182 of them.

She is also one of the most awarded artists of all time.

She starred in the movie Crossroads as Lucy Wagner

Most critics actually praised Spears's acting.

she also released her first book in 2000, Britney Spears' Heart-to-Heart, co-written with her mother.

In June 2002, Spears opened her first restaurant, Nyla, in New York City, but terminated her relationship in November, citing mismanagement and "management's failure to keep her fully apprised".

On February 2001, Spears got a promotional deal for $7–8 million dollars with Pepsi, and released another book co-written with her mother, entitled A Mother’s Gift.

Mega Star:Lady Gaga

2011-01-07T16:06:00.000-08:00

First & foremost I'd like to say Happy New Year! This is my first blog posting for 2011 :) So i thought of a cool idea. I should write about some top celebrities. I'm going to call them Mega Stars. First up...Lady Gaga! Love her or hate her you can't deny the fact that she is a Mega Star! So enough about that. Now on to the story.

Mini Bio

Lady Gaga, (Real Name:Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta)was born in New York City on March 28, 1986

She is of Italian descent.

The eldest child of Joseph Germanotta, an internet entrepreneur, and Cynthia Germanotta

She learned to play piano from the age of four, went on to write her first piano ballad at 13 and began performing at open mike nights by age 14.

At age 17,Gaga gained early admission to the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and lived in a NYU dorm on 11th Street. There she studied music and improved her songwriting skills by composing essays and analytical papers focusing on topics such as art, religion, social issues and politics.

Gaga had initially signed with Def Jam Recordings at the age of 19,although she was dropped by the label after only three months.Shortly after, her former management company introduced her to songwriter and producer RedOne, whom they also managed. The first song she produced with RedOne was "Boys Boys Boys",a mash-up inspired by Mötley Crüe's "Girls, Girls, Girls" and AC/DC's "T.N.T.".

Music producer Rob Fusari, who helped her write some of her earlier songs, compared some of her vocal harmonies to that of Freddie Mercury.Fusari helped create the moniker Gaga, after the Queen song "Radio Ga Ga".Gaga was in the process of trying to come up with a stage name when she received a text message from Fusari that read "Lady Gaga."
He explained,

Every day, when Stef came to the studio, instead of saying hello,I would start singing 'Radio Ga Ga'. That was her entrance song.Lady Gaga was actually a glitch; I typed 'Radio Ga Ga' in a text and it did an autocorrect so somehow 'Radio' got changed to 'Lady'. She texted me back, "That's it." After that day, she was Lady Gaga. She’s like, "Don't ever call me Stefani again." She was known thereafter as Lady Gaga!

Philanthropy

Besides her career in music, Gaga has enhanced her repertoire as a philanthropist who has contributed to various charities and humanitarianism works.

Gaga held a concert of The Monster Ball Tour following the 2010 Haiti earthquake and dedicated it to the country’s reconstruction relief fund. This concert, held at the Radio City Music Hall, New York, on January 24, 2010, donated any received revenue to the relief fund while, in addition, all profits from sales of products on Gaga’s official online store on that same day were donated. Gaga announced that an estimated total of $500,000 was collected for the fund.

Gaga also contributes in the fight against HIV and AIDS with the focus upon educating young women about the risks of the disease. In collaboration with Cyndi Lauper, Gaga joined forces with MAC Cosmetics to launch a line of lipstick under their supplementary cosmetic line, Viva Glam. Titled Viva Glam Gaga and Viva Glam Cyndi for each contributor respectively, all net proceeds of the lipstick line were donated to the cosmetic company’s campaign to prevent HIV and AIDS worldwide.

She proclaimed that the October 11, 2009, National Equality March rally on the national mall was "the single most important event of her career." As she exited, she left with an exultant "Bless God and bless the gays," similar to her 2009 MTV Video Music Awards acceptance speech for Best New Artist a month earlier. At the rally, she performed a cover of John Lennon's "Imagine" declaring that "I'm not going to play one of my songs tonight because tonight is not about me, it's about you." She changed the original lyrics of the song to reflect the death of Matthew Shepard, a college student murdered because of his sexuality. In September 2010, she spoke at a rally in favor of repealing the US military's Don't ask, don't tell policy, which prohibits lesbian, gay and bisexual people from serving openly, and released an online video urging her fans to contact their Senators in an effort to get the policy overturned. Editors of The Advocate commented that she had become the "fierce advocate" for gays and lesbians that future president Barack Obama had promised to be during his campaign.

The Fame was on the Billboard top 40 for 2 years straight.

In the United States the album peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 and topped Billboard's Dance/Electronic Albums chart. Worldwide, the album has sold over 12 million copies.

I got a question for you. What annoys you? I was just thinking. I get so annoyed by pop,hip/hop & music like that all the time. I seriously hate it. Everytime i hear i want to gag. I am a huge metal/rock fan. any chance i get to here it i listen to it. Now i won't say i hate all pop or hip/hop music but i do not like most of it. Another thing that annoys me is watching re-runs or gag worthy love stories. Anyone else feel the same? I'd so rather watch a horror movie than a love story. And yes i'm a girl. But whatever!!! So now it's your turn tell me what annoys you? Why do i wan't to know? I've said this all before my blog is random. So i'll post random things. DEMON HUNTER said that it'd be hard to get the entire band to sign something because they all live in different states but since the bassist replied to me i asked him if he only would so we'll see. Lastly SKILLET replied & said thanks for the encouragement & for me to check out their store on the website. That sometimes they have things signed by them there. So basically a no. But it's ok this is just an experiment. But now i know that basiacally they want tyou to pay if you want an autograph. Hmm....I wonder what the rest of the people will say if they even reply?

I'll update you when i get more reply's or information!

comments or suggestion are always welcome :)

The Celebrity Autograph Experiment

2010-06-15T16:02:00.000-07:00

How generous are celebrities on giving autographs to there fan's? that's a good question. And I've been thinking about it & thought I'd like to know the answer.
Don't you? so i thought about conducting an experiment to figure it out.

so I've decided to mail celebrities writing them a fan letter & ask for an autograph.
I'll be sending the letter's out soon & i can't wait to what responses i get. Now i know that not everyone will send me one but I'm going to try. Plus we'll find out which celebs go out of there way to please their fans which one's don't.

Now I'm not saying they don't care if i don't get an autograph back but maybe they could care a little more considering it's because of us that they have any money & fame. how many letter's I'll be sending out? I don't know yet but is going to be a lot.

Now I've had some trouble in finding legit addresses so if you know any could you please let me know? thanks!

Who will i be asking? (or at least try to get)

Disney star's (all)
The Twilight cast
CW star's from the hit shows: The Vampire Diaries,90210,Gossip Girl,Supernatural & etc.
ABC family star's from the hit shows: The Secret Life of the American Teenager,Make it or Brake it & etc.
Athlete's from different sport's such as soccer,football,baseball,basketball & etc.
Game show host's from: Deal or no Deal,Bob Barker & etc.
Singer's: Lady gaga,Britney Spear's,Jennifer Lopez,Paulina Rubio,Rhianna & etc.
Band's/Group's:Three Days Grace,My Chemical Romance,Boys like Girls,Green Day,Alter Bridge,Skillet & etc.

Basically every known singer,actor/actress,band or group & athlete!

Now this is not about me getting an autograph so much as it is who would actually do this for a fan.Since this is an experiment i will be doing follow ups in the coming week's to keep you updated.

Let's see how many celebs will give me an autograph for being a fan & not charge me 'cause I've heard of celebs charging for an autograph which i don't think is right they make so much money.

The American Music Awards 2009

2009-11-23T19:33:00.000-08:00

What happened last night at the AMA'S you ask? You don't know? Oh well I'll tell.....Read on :D

Performances:
Lady Gaga, dressed in a flesh-colored bodysuit wrapped with white piping embedded with flashing lights meant to imitate ribs? Starting off by singing hit “Bad Romance,” she segued into “Speechless” by using her microphone stand to bust open a glass box with a piano inside. Straddling the bench, she then proceeded to smash glass bottles as she performed the song. In a bizarre touch, she had violinists perform wearing gas masks in smoke-filled chambers beside her.I personally believe Gaga's performance was the BEST! But that's just me :D

Adam Lambert, wore a silvery suit, with spikes on his left shoulder, to sing his first single from his album For Your Entertainment. As expected, the controversial last performance was filled with plenty of writhing, groping, hip swiveling and S&M costumes. The singer even planted an intense smooch on one of his keyboardists. By the way abc has gotten over 1,500 phone calls complaining about the performance. But i should let you know that they have not received this many complaints about a woman doing the same things.Maybe not exactly everything but similar. But in my opinion i believe it's only because he's a male.

Jennifer Lopez showed up to perform her new single “Louboutins,” a homage to the pricey, red-soled shoes. Her album “Love?” drops early next year.Dressed as a boxer sang her song in a great performance. In the middle of her performance she walked up her dancers back as if they were stairs & at the top she attempted a jump but her landing wasn't successful. She fell on her butt, but she got up quick. She didn't stop,do a face or anything. She's such a pro.after that she did a solo dance. She's a true entertainer in my opinion.

Janet Jackson performed multiple songs mixed together:miss you much, what have you done lately,if,make me & together again.

& more!

Supernatural

Episode:The Real Ghostbusters

Super fan Becky uses Chuck's phone to trick Sam and Dean into attending a Supernatural fan convention, complete with fans dressed up as Sam and Dean.

One of the activities is a live action role playing game, but things quickly turn sour after a real ghost appears on the scene.

The following article is from E!online:

Paging Taylor Swift: Mystic Falls is calling you!

Or more precisely, Kevin Williamson. The man behind the CW's addictive new series Vampire Diaries reveals that he has approached Taylor to guest star on the series as a...wait for it...vampire. What would her vampalicious secret boyfriend say?

Though no deal has been struck, and Kevin fears she's "too big for Vampire Diaries now," the writer-producer is still hoping something will work out.

"I'm desperate to have [Swift] come play a vampire," Williamson says. "Wouldn't she make an amazing Kirsten Dunst circa Interview With the Vampire type? Oh my god, I cannot tell you how hard I'm trying to get her—I would kill to have her on the show!"

Turns out it would take a lot less than murder to get another certain pretty face who's surprisingly still tied to the show...

Kayla Ewell, aka the recently staked Vicki, hints to us that she could be back on Vampire Diaries.

"I'm still under contract," she told E! Online's Party Girl Cristina Gibson. So does that mean Vicki could be back? "There has been talk of a lot of stuff," Kayla hinted. "But that's all I can say. So yes and no. We'll see what happens."

Interestingly enough, when asked if Kayla might return, Williamson told PopWrap: "No. As of right now she's completely gone. We have no plans to bring her back." So either he's really not planning anything or would like it to remain a surprise if and when she does return.

The good news is that unlike other pretty, young CW actresses, Kayla knew all along that her character wasn't long for this world. "If you read the books, Vicki is the first one to die," Kayla said. "So I signed on knowing what was happening."

Courtesy Svedka Sessions
And as a lovely parting gift, she'll always have those memories of frolicking around in her underwear with Ian Somerhalder.

"I was such a huge Lost fan to begin with that when I found out that Ian was going to be on the show, I was dancing around," Kayla said. "So that episode was fun. He's so open and loving and is literally the most wonderful man. He makes every woman feel like a million bucks. Though I was a little nervous the morning [of that scene]. I was in my trailer going, 'Oh, I should do some sit-ups and push-ups right now!' "

Do you think Taylor would be a good addition to Vampire Diaries? Should she bring that other Taylor with her? And will you miss Kayla?

Spoiler alerts!

Melrose Place is about to get wild. Not only is Heather Locklear in the house and causing Amanda Woodward's usual brand of havoc, but there's a major character death coming!

I found this article on the web:

Melrose's Katie Cassidy has just let us in on all the gory deets about Ella's troubled future.

Read on for the scoop about how Amanda stirs things up for Melrose Place's new queen bee, plus what the character death means for the gang.

So first up, is Ella the one who gets whacked? "I can't tell you!" says Katie, "But I think everyone's going to be surprised. [The death] is a shocker, but at the same time, it's really good."

Look for the character death to reflect everything we've learned about the new Melrose Place peeps so far, and for it to be the turning point of the season so far!

In other news, Heather Locklear returns to the series on Nov. 17, and we hear that Amanda Woodward and Katie's Ella Sims have some choice scenes together. Katie tells us, "Heather is amazing. I've had so much fun working with her. She's a really cool chick and it's been really great to work with her. I'm happy she came on the show."

So are Ella and Amanda friends or foes? Katie tells us, "I think Ella looks up to Amanda and ultimately wants to be her, but she isn't—Ella's her own character, Ella's different. That said, with Amanda being the boss of the whole company, Ella would like to be in her shoes at some point."

Meanwhile, insiders dish that the drama is juicy: Amanda's first act upon returning to Melrose is to fire Ella's boss, Caleb,on the spot,so naturally Ella is practically peeing herself whenever she's forced to be in Amanda's presence. As Katie says, "The fans can expect to see a lot of different dynamics to their relationship, but it's mostly like a boss-employee relationship."

Last but not least, stay tuned to the CW Tuesdays at 9 p.m. if you want to find out what happens when everybody's closely guarded scandals, including situations like David's thievery and Lauren's prostitution gig, are revealed. As Katie spills, "Everyone's secrets will come out! I can't say much now, but everyone's secret is eventually revealed."

Ugh! I cant wait!

The not so nice star of 90210 Annalynne "Naomi" McCord has a <3 in real life.

While AnnaLynne McCord has found stardom on Nip/Tuck and 90210, she has also turned to helping victims of human trafficking.

McCord, 22, is involved in the Blind Project, a non-profit organization that aims to tell the stories of those affected by the problem and to alleviate it.

McCord joins the other celebs such as Ricky Martin, Emma Thompson and Ashley Judd in the fight against what is essentially a form of slavery. Victims are typically used for prostitution or forced labor. The estimated annual revenue for trafficking: $5 billion to $9 billion.

The Blind Project, which derives its name derives from the thought that so many are blind to human trafficking, raises money for awareness campaigns and rehabilitation programs for those affected.

McCord, who plays Naomi on 90210, said: "It's been really incredible to be able to shed light on a billion-dollar industry that barely anyone knows about."

"These are girls between the ages of 5 years old and 19. If you think of anyone that you know, any child that you know, and consider them being brutally molested time and again every single day -- it's something that I can't sit around and let it happen now that I'm aware of it."

McCord also spoke about the Blind Project's plans for a clothing and jewelry line called "We Are Biographers." Each item tells a real-life story of someone affected by trafficking. In Southeast Asia, where sex trafficking continues to be on the rise, the charity has set up work for those who escaped slavery and to help others not be taken in the first place.

McCord said the women "will be in a factory where they've learned how to sew and make jewelry. [They'll] work normal hours, get paid reasonable wages, and then we take [the designs] back here and sell them."

By buying one of the items, McCord said, you can help fight human trafficking. "You can wear a T-shirt and when someone asks you where you got your T-shirt, you can tell them the story of the girl you're wearing. That's what we're hoping to achieve."

The launch date for the line has not been set, but you can get more information at The Blind Project's Web site.
