Sweet Almond Mint

Everybody knows that I love using organic products. I try to avoid products with SLS (sodium lauryl/laureth sulfates) a known ingredient in household cleaning and personal hygiene products that is usually used as a surfactant and is the reason why it bubbles when we lather. SLS is a dangerous product that will also make your hair dry, faded, dull, lifeless, and frizzy. It might be weird to try hair products that don’t bubble as much but in the three years that I have used organic products, my hair is healthier and is always full of life. Although it does not really claim to be organic, Wen Cleansingconditioner does not have the harshness of SLS.

My first impression with Wen is that I was skeptic about its claim being a cleansing conditioner. If you know about the concept of co-cleansing (or conditioner cleansing), some beauty gurus suggest using conditioner for cleaning the hair instead of the usual shampoo. Shampoo, as they say, is for the scalp, while conditioner is for the hair. Using only conditioner would be beneficial for the hair but it will only give us a gentle cleanse, not at thorough as washing our hair with shampoo.

Trying Wen Cleansing Conditioner for the first time, I did not have any high hopes that it would penetrate into the roots of my hair and into the scalp. The label says to leave the conditioner for at least 3 minutes. Within a minute of staying up there, I felt the menthol in my scalp and it’s a good feeling. It was good that the conditioner reached my scalp. The feeling is a heavenly cool on my scalp.

Wen Cleansing Conditioner is thick and not runny. I like its consistency because it stays on my palm and won’t get wasted unlike other conditioners that are too runny to use. Despite its thick consistency, the product is very pliable and it was a good feeling to massage the conditioner on my hair and scalp.

The last day of the Big Davao Fun Sale was BIG IN FUN, at least for me. I was really busy the past month and I have not really gone shopping and it was a surprise that I was at Abreeza Mall (for a meeting) last April 16. I arrived in Manila at 12:30AM and I really need to freshen up because beau would be picking me up at the airport. The wee hours of dawn is definitely not a good time for makeup and I only had one thing on my bag that I would know would perk me up and freshen me up...... Presenting SWISH ICY CHOCO MINT!

If you will Google "black cocktail dress" chances are, results would include images of the searched item. Like this screen cap I got from Google:

Fashionabout.com defines Cocktail Attire as short, elegant dresses for her and dark suits for him. The little black dress is the ultimate cocktail dress and appropriate for most special occasions.

However, Wikipedia has a contrary definition:

A cocktail dress or cocktail gown is a woman's dress worn at cocktail parties and semi-formal, or "black tie" occasions. The length of a cocktail dress is long, often touching the ankle. When it is about 5 cm (2 inches) above the ankle it is called tea length and when it is almost touching the ankle it is called ballerina length, although ballerina length dresses usually fall into the evening gown category.

These two confusing definitions made me lean more into believing the definition set by Fashionabout.com and so during one of the parties that I attended, I prepared a little black dress that I found online.

Saforelle, a product from France, has just hit the Philippine market! I had a sample (60 ml | P99.75) of this product when it was launched in SampleRoom.ph. I did not hesitate to get this sample when I read that this is a mild body wash which had help calm and soothe irritations.

What's great about this product is that aside from being a body wash, this is also very mild to use as an intimate wash. It is highly recommended for people like me who have very sensitive skin, and it can also be safely used everyday.

When I first used Saforelle, I was turned off by its scent, it was too much for me. I was worried if the perfume used would irritate my skin. Of course, I still gave it a try to find out if it was really as mild as it claimed and I was not disappointed. I was able to finish the small bottle with no sensitivity or skin issues. I loved it!

I actually like this product because of its small packaging, I feel like this would be a great companion for my out-of-town trips and short travels. However, I have not seen this product in my local supermarket and I was hoping that this would reach Davao soon.

Natasha Microfiber Undies

I have to admit that I never really liked Natasha's panty line. Their brasseries are really great but their panties are not among their strong points. The only panty line that I appreciated is the Microfiber panties. The first Microfiber panty released by Natasha is Nisha and it was a huge hit for the ladies. Another line came out, Miralda, and for me, it was a better set than the previous one because Miralda came in solid colors. You can find Nisha and Miralda sets below

I still get some inquiries about Nisha and Miralda, specially because they are sold at discounted prices. THe discounts offered are almost P100 off, so it's a really great deal. However, although these two panty sets are still in brochures and even in the Natasha online catalogue, the Natasha Davao branch do not anymore carry stocks for these products.

In the December issue of the catalogue, I was happy when I noticed that Natasha introduced a new Microfiber panty set, Lysandra. One pack contains 6 undies and costs P425.

As expected, orders for the Microfiber panties, at least in my case as a dealer, has really gone up. The demand for these kinds of panties are high maybe because of the material that they use. These sets from Natasha have better quality than their cotton or PU panty sents.

I've been waiting for Natasha to launch solid-color Microfiber panties. The multicolor panties are okay but customers are asking if these panties also come in solid basic colors. It makes me think that its easier to pair your undies if you have solid colors in your stash...

Envouge

For February, Natasha has launched another Microfiber panty set, which actually a playful version of the two preceding sets. Envogue has 1 multicolor panty, 2 with flower designs, and 2 in solid colors - green and purple. This 5-pack set is more pricey at P345.00.

If you want high-quality undies, I would definitely recommend the Microfiber line from Natasha.

From the label alone, 1 bottle of Sappe Beauti Drink will already give you a lot of fibre. But according to an Institute of Medicine, women need 25 grams and men need 38 grams of fiber per day. This means that drinking 3 bottles of Sappe Beauti Drink will give you your recommended daily fiber intake for just around P100.00.

When I tried this product, I expected that this would work as a laxative, although the product label says that there is no laxative added. When I was young, I learned that fiber acts like a broomstick in our body, sweeping away all the toxins as it moves through the digestive tract. And I've also learned that eating high-fiber foods is good for the colon.

I drank the whole bottle before sleeping and after I had a big meal. The taste is pleasant, sweet, and citrusy. I wonder where the sweetness was from since the label also says it had no sugar added. When morning came, my stomach was rumbling, and I did not really like to wake up with that so I headed straight to the comfort room. So this thing works!

Personally, I like this product but I won't be drinking this regularly. I would recommend this if you had a big meaty meal and would highly recommend this as a staple during Christmas season where the taste lechon is almost always served during the holiday parties.

Red and gold was Reign's wedding motif last December 30 and I was looking for the perfect dress to wear the day before the wedding. Yes, I love to panic! Here are some photos taken before the wedding ceremony:

I wasn't able to take photos during the event because I was busy. I'm glad that Jackie was able to squeeze through some snapshots before the ceremony. My red and gold dress is from People Are People. I love the design! I initially wanted to wear a red long gown but my un-burned calories were shouting out so i needed a new dress that would suit the motif and would not break the bank.

I also did my makeup for that day using my trusty Ellana Minerals Almond Latte Loose Mineral Concealer & Foundtion. For my eyes, I used Ellana Minerals Desire, Posh, Light Roast, and Wish for my eyebrows. I wanted to sport a no-makeup makeup look. I chose Ellana Minerals Fulfillment for my cheeks on that day, it's a watermelon peach shade with specks of sheer gold satin that's perfect for an afternoon glow. Happy New Year Everyone!

It was a fantastic 2013 and I am ready to face the challenges and excitement that 2014 has to offer. I am very thankful for the past year and I had a lot of lessons learned, a lot of laughs, a lot of moments to cherish, and of course, a lot of blessings to be thankful for.

One of the things that I am truly thankful for 2013 is to be able to reconnect with long lost friends. Here's a photo of me and Lysette during her daughter's Christening.

Baby Rafi was baptized on the day of my 29th birthday and I'm happy to have celebrated this very important event with them. It's a one big turning point for the Lao family to have finally been blessed with a bundle of joy. And of course, my wish for Baby Rafi is for her to grow up as lovely as her mother.

Also, before the end of 2013, a wedding took place at the gardens of Linmarr Hotels and Apartelle.

Reign and Julius finally tied the knot last December 30. The beautiful wedding ceremony was attended by family and close friends. It was good to see some old friends whom I haven't seen in a long time. It was a day to celebrate love and to rekindle old friendships.

I celebrated 2013 with a new baby and a new couple. It's pretty exciting to know what 2014 has in store for everybody and I cannot wait for this mystery to unfold. It's a new year, a fresh clean start. May we all have an unforgettable 2014!
