Feature Set:

This latest version of Xara Web Designer is equipped with all the standard site creation features we were seeking plus some noteworthy new ones. The web page software boasts the ubiquitous drag-and-drop functionality, rollover creation and meta tag features. Additionally, the new premium version offers page transition effects that allow you to create visual interest for site visitors as they navigate through your site. There’s also a sitemap feature that automatically generates a sitemap for your website. Sitemaps are important because they enable search engines to crawl your website and index site pages, allowing your site to show up in relevant internet search queries.

We were surprised to find the software supports scripting languages. This means you can add scripts or code using scripting languages such as javascript or VBscript. While we appreciate the availability of such an advanced feature, we don’t think most average users will actually utilize it.

Graphic Imaging Tools:

Xara Web Designer web page software comes with several different options for editing images, including but not limited to cropping, sharpness, color temperature, saturation, contrast, brightness, rotation and auto-correction. When you import images, the application automatically adjusts their resolution and size to fit properly on a page.

The software also offers a convenient photo manager program that helps you archive, manage and sort all your site images. Furthermore, the application supports RAW file formats and allows you to upload your photos to Flickr and create basic web graphics.
