Arsenal keeper Wojciech Szczesny may find that his red card against Bayern Munich was only the start of his problems, after the Polish international was caught making a rude hand gesture as he made his way off the pitch during Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat at the Emirates.

The 23-year-old had just received his marching orders for bringing down Bayern winger Arjen Robben when he made the above remark.

Governing body UEFA could decide to take retrospective action, rubbing further salt into the wound for Szczesny, who will miss the second leg in the Allianz Arena regardless.

It was Arsenal’s 100th red card under Arsene Wenger, and it was one of the most disastrous for the Gunners, with current champions Bayern now sitting pretty on a two goal lead ahead of the second leg in Germany.
The 33-year-old Suit & Tie singer will mark his inaugural performance in the North African country on May 30, according to Variety.
The outlet reports Justin will take the mic on Rabat's OLM Souissi stage.

Other acts this year will include R&B singer Jason Derulo and Belgian singer-songwriter Stromae.

The Mawazine World Rhythms Festival will run through June 7.

Justin is currently on his The 20/20 Experience World Tour.

The singer is playing in New York City's famed Madison Square Garden Wednesday and Thursday night and will continue touring the US through the beginning of March.

He will then jet to Europe for a show in Sheffield on March 30, and will perform throughout the continent, as well as Asia and Africa, until early summer.

The tour will then head back to the US before wrapping in Gdansk, Poland on August 19.
The balance of power in the mobile messaging space is about to shift in a big way -- Facebook has just announced plans to acquire WhatsApp for the equivalent of $19 billion in cash and stock. The deal will see WhatsApp run semi-independently, much like Instagram. The chat service will maintain its brand and existing offices, but it will take advantage of Facebook's "expertise, resources and scale."

It's safe to say that the combined entity will have a lot of clout should the deal close later this year. WhatsApp already has over 450 million active users every month; combine that with Facebook Messenger and competitors like Line suddenly appear tiny by comparison.
Many Gunners fan opine that they should sign a striker, albeit temporary, in the January transfer window.
The general feeling among the fans is that Arsenal will spend heavily on a top striker next summer, with players like Jackson Martinez, Edinson Cavani and Radamel Falcao have had been linked with the club.

Lo c R my 011 Arsenal make contact with Loic Remys representatives

According to the latest report from The Daily Mail, the Gunners are keen to sign Newcastle United’s on-loan striker Loic Remy in the summer.

The Magpies boss Alan Pardew has expressed his desire to sign his top scorer this season on a permanent basis, but Wenger may scupper his plans in the summer.

The report says the Gunners have made contact with the player’s representatives, while the lure of playing in the Champions League could be the deciding factor for Remy to join the North London club, should a concrete offer arrives.

Remy has netted 11 goals in 22 appearances, but is he the man Arsenal need next season, unless they’re planning to buy more than one striker in the summer.
Check out the video below.

I’m surprised at how good this looks. From the brief clip we had seen before, it made the film seem more questionable from the slapstick undertones. This clip shows that there will be that bit of humor, but it will play more towards the main character’s (Starlord) arrogance which is fitting. I just can’t wait to see Rocket Raccoon in action! What do you all think of the trailer?
The Scottish rock band formed in 1977 and achieved commercial success in the early 1980s with a string of hit singles, including their well-known 1985 hit, Don't You (Forget About Me), Alive and Kicking and Waterfront.

Comprising of the members Jim Kerr, Charlie Burchill, Mel Gaynor, Andy Gillespie and Ged Grimes, Simple Minds have toured all over the world, headlining in major stadiums and inspiring many other top acts, including The Manic Street Preachers, Primal Scream and The Horrors.

Simple Minds' performance at Alive at Delapre in Northampton will coincide with the release of their latest album, 'Celebrate ' The Greatest Hits', which marks their 35 years as one of Britain's most successful bands.

Councillor David Mackintosh, Leader of Northampton Borough Council, said: 'We are delighted that Simple Minds will kick off this popular three day event in the beautiful surroundings of Delapre.

'Simple Minds dominated the charts in the 80s with many hit classics that fans old and new will be able to enjoy on Friday 18 July. We hope that Delapre's beautiful parkland surroundings will act as a perfect venue to celebrate 35 years of the band's success.

Tickets for the event will cost £39.25 (includes booking fee) and will go on sale on Friday 21 February at 10am.

Tickets for Simple Minds and Boyzone can be purchased from Royal & Derngate Box Office, online at www.royalandderngate.co.uk or online from Ticket Master and See Tickets.
Love is in the air, but unfortunately there's garbage At the Movies this Valentine's Day weekend. Of course Peter Travers knows your perfect date involves a film and maybe pizza afterwards – because let's face it, you couldn't get a reservation at a restaurant either – but Hollywood's offered up some seriously slim pickings for you and your special someone this year.

16 Romantic Movies That Every Man Should Watch

First up is Endless Love, a remake of the 1981 Brooke Shields film of the same name (that's also essentially Romeo and Juliet) that stars Alex Pettyfer and Gabriella Wilde as two young lovers whose parents won't let them be together. "I'm gonna throw up. I just wanna puke at how bad this is," Travers says. "It was bad in 1981 when it was first made and now it's even worse!"

Watch David Bowie's "Valentine's Day" Video

Next up is the truly bizarre, Winter's Tale, which is based on Mark Helprin's 1983 novel of the same name and takes place in both the present day and the early 20th century. The movie stars Colin Farrell as Peter Lake, an immigrant who feels angels are telling him that he'll find the true love of his life – which he does, though his lady, Beverly Penn (Downton Abbey's Jessica Brown Findlay) is dying of tuberculosis. If that's already sounding a bit too saccharine, Russell Crowe suddenly appears in the movie as an Irish demon who is trying to prevent true love from happening. To do so, he puts on his demon face – "he looks like he did in Les Misérables, but he doesn't sing, so you're safe there," Travers notes – and goes to meet Lucifer played by, wait for it, Will Smith. "I am not making any of this up," Travers says. "But this one is way beyond the scum bucket. This one is going into worst of all time. You are not to go near any of this."

Hear Tegan and Sara's Valentine's Day Playlist

Lastly, there's About Last Night, an adaptation of a David Mamet play that features another top notch performance from one of today's rising stars, Kevin Hart. It tells the story of two couples, Danny Martin (Michael Ealy) and Debbie Sullivan (Joy Bryant) who think they've found true love, while their friends Bernie Jackson (Hart) and Joan Derrickson (Regina Hall) provide the comic relief. Like Hart's other recent film Ride Along,it doesn't quite work, but again the comedian is firing on all cylinders, making About Last Night pretty much the only choice you really have this Valentine's Day (unless you want to go see the RoboCop remake).
You read it right. Arsenal skipper Thomas Vermaelen and Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic could play together next season at Inter Milan, if the reports are to be believed.

Vidic, who has been at Manchester United for eight long years, has confirmed recently that this will be his final season at the Old Trafford club.

The Serbian defender has been linked with several clubs including Spain and Russia, but it seems like he has agreed to join Inter Milan.

According to reports from Goal, Vidic has already agreed will sign a two-year contract worth £2.5 million (potentially rising to £2.9m) per year.

Reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano says that Vidic has informed of his decision to move to Italy, after a deal was agreed following the club’s 0-0 draw with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium last Wednesday night.

Inter are also looking to sign Arsenal skipper Thomas Vermaelen, who has dropped down the pecking orders at the club and has hardly featured this season.

Vermaelen was a January target of Napoli, but even reports emerged that the Belgian has agreed in principles to join the Naples club, but the deal didn’t materialize.

However, according to Italian news media Calciomercato, Vermaelen is edging closer to join the Nerazzurri.

So, if both the deals materialize in the summer, we could Vidic and Vermaelen forging a central defensive partnership for Inter Milan.
Indeed, when I was in Mountain View earlier this month, a Google spokesperson challenged me to just use voice whenever possible on my phone.

For Google, all things voice now start with “Ok Google” or “Ok Glass.” With Android KitKat on flagship phones like the Moto X and Nexus 5, voice recognition isn’t just something you have to start with a click. It’s always listening to you and is waiting for you to talk to it.

I also went to see a screening of Google And The World Brain over the weekend, a 2013 documentary about Google’s controversial book-scanning project. The only person Google made available for the film was Amit Singhal, a Google VP and the head of its core ranking team. In the movie, Singhal doesn’t actually mention Google Books, but instead he talks about how the Star Trek computer was a major influence on his research. That, plus Google’s challenge to use voice commands whenever possible, made me think a bit more seriously about all of the work Google (and arguably Apple and others) have recently been doing around voice recognition and natural language processing.

In the early days of voice recognition and Apple’s Siri, talking to your phone or computer always felt weird. There’s just something off about talking to an inanimate object that barely understands what you want anyway. The early voice recognition tools were also so limited, it took Zen-like focus on your pronunciation and ensuring that you more or less stuck with the approved commands to get them to work. Just ask anybody who has voice recognition in their cars how much they enjoy it (just don’t ask anybody with an older Ford SYNC system, they may just throw a fit).

Solving those kinds of hard problems is what tends to motivate Google, though. As I noted a few months ago, one of Google’s missions is to build the ultimate personal assistant, and to do that, it has to perfect voice recognition and – more crucially – the natural language processing algorithms behind it.

What Google’s voice commands enable you to do on the phone (and in the Chrome browser) today, is pretty impressive. Ask it “Call Mum” and it will do that. It’ll open web pages for you, answer complex questions thanks to Google’s massive repository of data in the Knowledge Graph, set up appointment and reminders, convert currencies, translate words and phrases, and send emails and texts.

For voice searches, it’ll just speak back the answers. That’s something few companies can replicate, simply because they can’t match Google’s Knowledge Graph. More interestingly, though, many of these actions draw you into a short conversation with your phone.

“Call Alex.” “Which Alex?” “Alex Wilhelm.” “Mobile or home?” “Mobile.” “Calling Alex.”

The fact that this works, and that Google can even often recognize pronouns in extended conversations, is awesome. For now, though, this still feels weird to me. I’m not likely to use it in public anytime soon, and using it when I’m alone in my office feels even stranger.

I’m guessing that kind of hesitance will wear off over time, just like video conferencing felt weird at the beginning and now we’re all used to video chats on Skype, FaceTime and Google Hangouts.

Maybe the computer from “Her” is indeed the future of user interfaces and the natural language processing and all of the other tech that drives Google’s voice commands and search today will surely form the kernel of the artificial intelligence systems the company will one day build.

It’s no surprise Google bought the stealthy artificial intelligence startup DeepMind a few weeks ago. Its founders have long been interested in AI and Larry Page is rumored to have led the acquisition of DeepMind himself. Back in 2000, Page once said that he believed “artificial intelligence would be the ultimate version of Google.” The company continues to go down this path, and many of the researchers at Google’s semi-secret X-labs seem to have a strong interest in AI, too. The ideal user interface for working with these systems is probably speech.

My experiment with only using voice control for a day pretty much failed, however — not because it didn’t work well, but just because I just don’t feel like talking to my phone most of the time.

You only need to look at Jon Fingas' Instagram feed to understand how much he enjoys smartphone photography. We get it: you probably have an Instagram account too, but for Jon, taking photos of flowers, Christmas ornaments, ice sculptures and even other gadgets is how the guy unwinds. So what happens when you give him a camera with more megapixels than your average point-and-shoot? Just about what you'd expect.

To call me a mobile photography fan would be an understatement: it's all too common to find me shooting flower macros when I should be enjoying the scenery. You can imagine that I was over the moon, then, once Nokia launched the Lumia 1020 in Canada back in October. I picked one up to see how it would stack up against other mobile phone cameras -- and whether I could afford to leave my "big" Sony NEX-5N at home.

To some extent, I can. The biggest appeal of Nokia's 41-megapixel shooter is undoubtedly its zoom. It's not just that I can get closer to distant subjects. It's that I can get just the right framing for a close-up without having to get overly cozy with my subject. The experience is almost like shooting with a constant-aperture zoom lens on a DSLR, since the brightness and depth of field largely stay the same regardless of distance. What's more, Nokia Camera provides a level of control I'm not used to in mobile photography. I've captured long exposures and other shots that are tough (if not impossible) to pull off using other smartphones.

The image quality also lives up to my expectations... usually. Colors pop in most images, and it's easy to focus on just the right object in a given scene. Low-light performance is also superb. The Lumia 1020 doesn't quite have the 920's almost surreal ability to take bright photos in the dark, but it's one of the few phones I'd willingly use for night shots. Color accuracy is a sore point, though. As I've seen on the Lumia range since the 800, the 1020 occasionally captures sickly hues. It's not a dealbreaker when the flaw only creeps up in certain (usually dim) lighting conditions, but it's frustrating when I have to either retake a picture or settle for an oddly tinged image.

As good as the Lumia 1020 is, though, there's one major flaw that would prevent me from getting the phone again if I had to: the Lumia 1520. It "only" has a 20-megapixel sensor, but its faster performance and superior display are easily worth the step down in picture detail. I don't regret owning the 1020, but I see it as more of a niche device these days. It's what you get if you crave image resolution above all else, or if you have to get one of the best Lumias that fits comfortably in one hand. Me, I'd like something a little more futureproof.

The film will follow the remarkable story of how Zamperini (played here by Jack O’Connell) managed to survive at sea for 47 days when his plane crashed during WW2.

Having drifted for some 2000 miles, Zamperini’s luck then degenerated even further, as the American found himself picked up by the Japanese and thrown into a brutal POW camp...

Take a look at the new trailer, below...

The documentary feel to the trailer is likely only present for promotional purposes, but it does a good job of introducing Zamperini’s story. And from the actual movie footage on show here, it looks as though rising star O’Connell has knocked this one out of the park...

Directed by Jolie and co-starring Domhnall Gleeson, Garrett Hedlund and Jai Courtney, Unbroken will open in the UK on 16 January 2015.

Chelsea boss Mourinho called Wenger a 'specialist in failure' on Friday and Wenger was keen to deflect the subject when he addressed the media after his side booked their place in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

He insisted that he was more disappointed for Chelsea than himself over Mourinho's remarks, and instead savoured an important win for Arsenal.

Asked about Mourinho, Wenger told reporters: "I am embarrassed for him, honestly.

"First of all I would say that I didn't speak about him at all in my press conference, and I have no more to say... I am more disappointed for Chelsea than for me.

"I am not interested in the subject at all, and that is really genuine. If you are interested, and you have nothing better to do in your life, you are free to do it.

"But honestly, I cannot force my interest in things that are not interesting for me. I love football and I'm sorry to disappoint you, but what interests me is what happens on the pitch."

Speaking about Arsenal's success against Liverpool, Wenger admitted that it was crucial to turn in a good performance following the 5-1 defeat at Anfield in the Premier League last weekend.

He explained: "It was vital for us to respond to the disappointing performance we had against Liverpool last week.

"It was vital as well because we had an opportunity to go to the quarter-final of the FA Cup. I am very pleased with the intensity of our commitment and our response, our determination.

"You could feel there was a clinical desire in my team to take every opportunity to 'kill' them. That's why it was a great game between two good teams, and overall it was a fantastic FA Cup tie.

"Many people questioned the FA Cup but like today it delivers a great football performance."

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain opened the scoring for Arsenal and Lukas Podolski made it 2-0 early in the second half, before Liverpool came back strongly in an exciting finale.

Steven Gerrard pulled one goal back from the penalty spot but a second penalty appeal was turned down, while goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski had to make a series of good saves.

Wenger said: "Look, Liverpool is a very strong team. They had some chances but you should not forget that we as well had some very good chances on top of that.

"They were in a position where they had to take the initiative because they were 2-0 down, they had to throw absolutely everything forward. They are good enough to create chances against any team, but we were resilient, focused on defending well.

"Overall it looked yes that they could score, but it looked always that when we won the ball we had a chance to go to the goal and score as well."

On Luis Suarez's failed penalty appeal, following a challenge by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Wenger was not sure about the decision but pointed to the Uruguayan's theatrical fall.

He said: "Maybe. I have to watch it again. You know that I rate Suarez as a player but I think if we had him in the team we would have a few more free-kicks! There was contact, I don't deny that, but he is good to make more of it."

Wenger handed Yaya Sanogo a first start in attack and he was impressed by the performance of the 21-year-old Frenchman, signed from Auxerre last summer.

"For a first performance he was excellent. He was always in the game, he was a handle for them," said the Arsenal boss.

"It's his first official game basically, he played one game in the reserves for 60 minutes. Considering the intensity of the game, he was absolutely excellent."

The Mirror says reports have emerged at various points of the season concerning van Persie's supposed disillusionment with Moyes' training regimes - while the ex-Everton boss has also admitted to gambling with the Dutchman's fitness.

There have recently been rumours that Van Persie could make a shock return to his former club in the summer.

And according to reports from Sky Italia, the Netherlands' all-time record goalscorer may well be in line for a north London return - with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said to have met with Van Persie's representatives in London last month.

It has been made clear to the Frenchman that Van Persie - who he first signed for £3million from Dutch club Feyenoord in 2004 - wants to leave United.
Deadline reports that the Louis Leterrier-directed film has also got a new distributor, with Sony set to release the picture in place of Paramount.

Grimsby will follow a British black-ops agent, who is forced to go on the run with his estranged brother, a beer-swilling football hooligan. Naturally, Cohen will be playing both parts…

Cohen co-wrote the script with his Borat partner Peter Baynham, with further contributions coming from Philomena's Phil Johnston. Production is slated to begin on the project this summer, with a UK release date yet to be confirmed.

Meanwhile, Cohen has renewed his first-look deal with Paramount for the next three years, with the star saying, "any studio that puts out a movie where Leonardo DiCaprio snorts cocaine from a hooker’s anus is a place I’m happy to call home."
Mario Balotelli. A surreal personification of the dreams the majority of youngsters play out in their heads on a nightly basis; namely a ‘super-villain-esque’ confidence, an extraordinary footballing ability, and a penchant for believing that the game has no superior.

The 23-year-old former Manchester City hit-man has been linked with Arsenal these last few weeks, with the Metro going as far as to say that Arsene Wenger recently met with the player’s agent to discuss options.

But should the Gunners move for the Machiavellian attacker?

Here are two clips of Balotelli, one of which you will undoubtedly still remember, with the other taken just yesterday at the San Siro.
